Buster Walth Dependent Personality Disorder
Dependent Personality Disorder is characterized by a pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of
that leads to submissive and clinging behavior (APA, 2013, p. 675). This description aptly defines the
personality of Buster Bluth from the television show Arrested Development. Buster has difficulty
making everyday decisions, has issues with expressing disagreement, seeks out another close
relationship once one goes awry, goes to excessive lengths to obtain nurture, has anxiety when faced
with difficult decisions, and his social relationships are limited. All these traits are symptoms of
Dependent Personality Disorder (APA, 2013, p. 675). Based on this, Buster Bluth should be diagnosed
with Dependent Personality Disorder. The first symptom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These include anxiety when faced with decisions and limited social relations (). Buster is not often
asked to decide things or to take sides but when he is, he has an anxiety attack. The family needs
Buster s skills as a cartographer to help them navigate a boat and with everyone relying on him to say
where to family needs to go, he has a panic attack (). He even went as far as putting himself into a
coma just to avoid testifying against his father (). These types of behavior severely hinder his
everyday functioning and decision making. In addition to this, Buster has a very small social circle.
His only true friend is his mother and he sometimes associates with his other family members. The
only person with whom Buster has a relationship outside of the family is Lucille two (). These
associated features help to strengthen the cause for diagnosis of Buster

Influence Of The Classical World Upon Dante s The Inferno
The Influence of the Classical World Upon Dante s The Inferno Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet and
writer of the 13th century, creates a fictional account of his visions of his journey through Hell. His
background as a Catholic influences his life and his writings, including The Inferno. He uses the
historical and political events of his lifetime to influence his writings as well. Dante is educated and
very familiar with the history and literature of the classical world. In The Inferno, he expresses his
admiration for Greco Roman history, literature, mythology, and philosophy, but he also places
limitations on the ability of the classical world to gain salvation as taught and believed in Christian
doctrine.
In Canto I, Dante begins his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dante is saying that Virgil cannot enter heaven because he lived before Christ. Dante admires the
classical Roman world but rejects it as the path of salvation to God. In Canto II, Dante says he is
unworthy to make the journey with Virgil. Dante summarizes what happens in The Aeneid when
Aeneas descends into the underground and sees his father. Later, the descendants of Aeneas establish
Rome. Dante believes God favored Virgil as a Roman because eventually St. Peter would be in Rome.
In that quest, which your verses celebrate, he learned those mysteries from which arose his victory and
Rome s apostolate (25 27). Dante names St. Paul as another person who preached Christianity in
Rome, bearing the confirmation of that Faith which is the one true door to life eternal (29 30). Virgil
convinces Dante that he has been sent by God to guide Dante through Hell. In Canto III, Dante and
Virgil arrive at the first river of Hell, Acheron, which was part of Greek mythology. Charon, the
ferryman, is also from Greek mythology. In Canto IV, Dante and Virgil arrive at the first circle, which
Dante refers to as Limbo. Limbo holds the souls of the Virtuous Pagans, people who were born before
the time of Christ. Virgil says, that these were sinless. And still their merits fail for they lacked

Reaction Paper On Arrhythnia
The heart is the most complex organ in the human body and without it, the body cannot survive. If the
heart does not respond the way its suppose to, it can cause major health altercations or even death. As
time has progressed, technology has progressed as well. Scientists have discovered many procedures
to help the heart stay in rhythm. Some of the most famous and common procedures discovered are the
pacemaker and heart valve replacement. These procedures have become easier over time and are the
most reliable procedure to keep the heart functioning. Scientist have also found solutions for
arteriosus, which is a defect in the heart that happens right after birth. Doctors are using pacemakers to
send electrical impulses to keep the heart in rhythm, replacing or fixing defective valves for proper
circulation, and surgeries to clamp PDA. These heart procedures are common and useful.
The pacemaker is a complex device that sends electrical impulses to the heart to keep it in a normal
rhythm. Most of the time doctors implant pacemakers to treat arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are problems
with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. During an arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast, too slow, or
with an irregular rhythm (MedicineNet). Arrhythmia has two different stages and they re called:
bradycardia and tachycardia. Tachycardia is the condition where the heart beats too fast and
bradycardia is the condition where the heart beats too slow. The pacemaker then changes the defective
rhythm

Common Estate Case Study
When closing an estate, most states that use a formal probate process, allow for an informal closing
for common estates. These states simplified the probate process for estates that are straightforward;
not complicated or contested. Fortunately, Massachusetts is one of those states. In Massachusetts,
closing an estate using the simplified probate process involves the following tasks:
1) Complete a final inventory of assets.
2) Using the inventory of assets in the final accounting, complete the final accounting.
3) Under cover of an assent form, send copies of the inventory of assets and the final accounting to
each beneficiary.
4) After receiving the signed assent forms from each beneficiary, the executor must sign the form
called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3) Schedule C Schedule C is the remaining balance of the estate. In common estates, the balance
should be zero. Simply put, the total in Schedule A must equal the total in Schedule B to produce a
zero balance in Schedule C. Furthermore, filling in these schedules with the appropriate values is a
collaborative effort. At times, throughout an estate administration, there are legal matters that the
attorney must handle. If these matters produce income or expenses for the estate, the attorney should
enter those values on the appropriate schedule. So, if the account doesn t balance in the initial
attempts, the attorney will most likely step in to help find any discrepancies if needed.
Once the final accounting balances, then the attorney will continue with the rest of the closing process
mentioned above. At this point, the only remaining task for the executor is to distribute the rest of the
property in the estate after signing the account form.
.
The Informal Closing of an Estate
Although an estate may close informally, it doesn t mean that a probate court won t request
information at a later date. Therefore, the executor should hold on to the original documents related to
the informal closing. In addition, the executor should retain supporting documents related to entries in
the final accounting such as receipts, bank statements, and brokerage statements. Basically, all an
executor needs to do is store all the documentation used to produce the

Greek Art Research Paper
Art and Sculpture
Art has improved and changed greatly over time but Greek legacy of art and sculpture remains
renowned and is of great importance to many. Greece has arguably some of the best artworks and
sculptors of the world and this has influenced many other countries.
During the 5th and 6th centuries B.C there had been an improvement in sculpting and art this was the
Classical era. This revolution showed amazing results, the sculptures were no longer stiff and rigid
like the Egyptian models(appendix 1) they had scaled and perfectly measured shapes. The Greeks
successfully created and used the golden ratio and vital or useful tool used in sculpting. Ancient
Greeks had used these geometrical equations to create the perfect statues.
In comparison to many archaic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows the renowned arts of Greece and how they are even well known nowadays. The arts
Greece were mixed and used all around the word ruining its originality but despite this it still
remained famous.
This was revealed when the Ai Khanoum in Afghanistan was excavated and certain artifacts were
found. The artifacts were possibly of Alexander the great, thus proving Greeks have shared their
knowledge. The Hellenistic art has many sculptures among them is the Winged Victory of
Samothrace(appendix 2). This magnificent artwork as H.W. Janson depicted it The greatest
masterpiece of Hellenistic sculpture.
Greek myths and legends had a huge impact on art and sculpture of Greece, as a result many statues of
gods and others mythical beings were created. For example the statue of Zeus(appendix 3) one of the
finest sculptures of Greece. This statue was thirteen metres high and was considered one of the seven
wonders of the ancient world. This is proof of the work and smarts put into just one sculpture and it
also shows the dedication and belief of the

Ovarian Torsion Research Paper
Ovarian Torsion The ovaries are small organs that produce eggs in women. Ovarian torsion is when an
ovary becomes twisted and cuts off its own blood supply. This causes the ovary to swell, which can be
painful. Ovarian torsion can happen at any age, and is usually caused by having an enlarged ovary.
Ovarian torsion is a painful medical emergency. It must be treated quickly. If too much time has
passed, blood flow to the ovary may not be restored and the ovary may have to be removed. CAUSES
This condition is usually caused by having an ovary that is larger than normal. An enlarged ovary is
more likely to twist. An ovary can become enlarged because of: Harmless (benign) tumors on the
ovaries. Cancerous tumors. Abnormal fluid filled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Torsion can happen in an ovary that is normal sized. In these cases, the cause may not be known.
RISK FACTORS This condition is more likely to develop in: Women who have fallopian tubes that
are longer than normal. Women who have ovaries that are larger than normal. Women who are taking
fertility medicine to become pregnant. Women who have had surgery in the pelvic area. SYMPTOMS
The main symptom of this condition is pain in the lower abdomen, usually on one side of the body.
The pain may come and go suddenly. Other symptoms may include: Abdominal pain that spreads into
the lower back or thigh. Nausea and vomiting. DIAGNOSIS This condition is diagnosed based on
your medical history and a physical exam. Your health care provider may perform a pelvic exam, and
he or she may feel your abdomen to check for an enlarged ovary. You may have tests, including: A
pregnancy test. CT scan. MRI. Pelvic Doppler ultrasonography. This measures blood flow in your
pelvis. Diagnostic laparoscopy. This uses a thin, lighted tube that has a camera on the end

High Degree And The Highest Level Of Schooling
In today s generation, it s very rare that you ll see young adults strive for the highest level of
schooling. When it comes down what people do after high school there s four things you see; people
who don t go to college at all, people who go to get their associates and go into their career, people
who go and get their bachelor s degree and go into their career, people who go and get their master s
degree and go into their career, then people who go the extra mile and get the highest level degree you
can reach, the doctorates degree. School costs money and time, some people are willing to go to
school and deal with the stress an extra 4 to five years, and others can t. A lot of people nowadays
question, is going to school an extra two years to get my masters or an extra four to five years to get
my doctorates really worth it? The main reasons why people go to school to get a higher degree such
as the master s degree and doctorates degree is because they believe it sets your apart from other s in
your work field who have a lower level degree than them, and it will guarantee them more money.
While without a doubt it does set you apart from the competition in your work field, the question we
will be examining remains is the extra education worth it? In order to find out the answer to that the
relationship between average weekly income or salary and highest level of education must be
determined. Literature Review There s a pretty high chance that if you re reading this, this

The Role Of Marketing In A Corporate Environment
The Role Of Marketing In A Corporate Environment
The definition of Marketing in the eleventh edition of Marketing: An Introduction is stated as the
process by which companies create value for customers and build strong customer relationship in
order to capture value from customers in return. How does the corporate world successfully merge
with marketing to satisfy the consumers opinion of value? By designing a customer driven marketing
strategy. One theory from The Times 100 states that Effective marketing demands the identification
and understanding of target markets. Having a clear understanding of target markets create an entry
into providing a product that will sell. Marketing Mix also known as the four P s (Product, Price,
Promotion, and Distribution (Price) created in 1960 by McCarthy is used by marketers throughout the
world. Broken down into their segments and defined as:
Product anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption that
might satisfy a want or need.
Price amount of money charged for a product or service.
Promotion activities that communicate the merits of the product and persuade target customers to buy
it.
Place (distribution) company activities that make the product available to target consumers.
With social and demographic changes the sale of products can be affected. So if companies want to
continue to add value to products there must be the introduction of services to the mix.

The Positive And Negative Aspects Of The Holocaust
The word holocaust means sacrifice by fire(ushmm.org), but was later recognized as the time when
many Jews and other people that the Nazis did not like got killed. Some people also got pulled away
from their family and suffered harsh conditions. (History.com)The Holocaust was a time of war and
poverty for many Jews, Gypsies, Poles, Russians, and others that the Nazis led by Hitler tortured in
constitution camps. The Holocaust started World War II.(ushmm.org) The war was a very disgusting
and was a bloody war. Hitler, the leader of all of the Nazis, hated Jews and wanted to kill all of them.
Hitler was a Catholic, but later grew up and didn t believe in what Catholicism stated. He became Anti
Semitic, but still hated the Jews. He also blamed the loss of World War I on the Jews. This is how he
built his idea of the Nazis attacking Poland and all his Jewish enemies. Hitler and the Nazis wanted to

The Art Museum
During my visit to the Art museum I was able to look at the artwork with detail and see it in a different
perception. When I was in elementary school I used to visit the Museum of Fine Arts frequently, at
that time my teachers and guide used to tell us descriptions of the artworks, but at that age I didn t
understand the meaning of the art pieces. At that time the pieces of artwork in the museum just seem
like a piece of art, drawings, and sculptures. Now as an adult, I know that for every artwork made
there is a story behind the art. Artwork can be also a form to express feeling, culture, or meaning.
What I learn from going to the museum was that art can be created and express in many different
ways. In the museum there were many different

Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest
Deforestation of the Pacific Northwest One of the most controversial areas associated with the global
problem of deforestation is the Pacific Northwest of the US. The problem can be broken down into
several issues that all tie in together. These include the near extinction of the Northern Spotted Owl,
the business aspect of logging versus the environmental aspect, and the role of the government in this
problem. In 1973, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was passed. This enabled the Dept. of
Commerce and Dept. of the Interior to place species, either land or marine, as either threatened or
endangered. Under these terms species could no longer be hunted, collected, injured or killed. The

Guest speaker Jerry Howe would fall into this category as a private land owner. As a land steward, he
believes he can do what he wants with his land. The term steward is used to mean that no one can
truly own the land, it can only be used or under the care of a person. He uses clear cutting when it has
the smallest effect on the environment, he also uses strip cutting in which the forest is cut in strips to
provide a buffer zone and is more aesthetically pleasing. His methods are better for the forest due to
conservative forestry practices that speed up the regeneration of the forest. This produces a more
sustainable yield than clear cutting alone. While neither of these techniques is good for the
environment, using wise management practices can still produce a large profit while conserving
precious ecosystems. For large companies, such as Pacific Lumber, to switch to using conservative
forestry practices would take more than proposals by environmentalists and the Forest Service to help
the environment to change their current ways. For these companies to switch, it would cost them
money to follow the more sustainable approach while also decreasing their profit due to less tree
cutting in the short term. In my opinion, it is up to the government to set standards that force these
companies to switch by making regulations more strict as well as a greater number of them if need be.

I have always been interested in science. As a child, I would perform little experiments by freezing my
dinosaurs in a water bottle filled with water. My family was always very supportive of me and my
scientific pursuits. Because of this, my grandmother gave me a children s science experiment book. I
enjoyed making sugar crystals and a substance called oobleck that was similar to a solid and a liquid.
When I was a little older, my parents even bought me a science experiment kit, and I was ecstatic. But,

The Violence Of Black People And People Of Color Essay
Since its not so humble beginnings in the early 1600s, the country in which we live has had a plethora
of incidents regarding the mistreatment of black people and people of color. From slavery, to
lynchings, to assassinations, and so forth, the pain and suffering of African Americans has been very
much apart of the rich history of the United States of America. Even so, with each new generation, we
as a people have continued to face abuse and exploitation. At this point in our ongoing narrative, the
premise of our grief has shifted to shed a light on the prominence of brutality in American police force
practices.
This ever so popular conversation begins with Trayvon Martin in the year of 2012. Martin was a 17
year black boy who was attacked and shot by neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman (29) as he
was walking home from a convenience store (Trayvon Martin Shooting 1). This young man was the
first police brutality victim since Rodney King to receive an abundant amount of media coverage and
public support. His death reinstated a nationwide conversation about the mistreatment of African
Americans when it comes to law enforcement in this country. It caused many people to come up with
a plan of action, and not long after he passed, the infamous nationwide movement referred to as Black
Lives Matter ensued (Herstory 1).
Regardless of this one tragic incident, it has come to be understood that the murder of innocent black
people by the hands of police has not ceased to

Can you imagine the vicious cycle created for the American poor? One of the endemic plagues of
poverty, poor nutrition, has been further compounded by the fact that the less money you have, the
less able you ll be to buy any truly nutritious foods. Dr. Adam Drewnowski, director of the center for
public health nutrition at the University of Washington, reveals the very real daily challenge those on a
tight budget face: If you have $3 to feed yourself, your choices gravitate toward foods which give you
the most calories per dollar, not only are the empty calories cheaper, but the healthy foods are
becoming more and more expensive. Vegetables and fruits are rapidly becoming luxury goods. (Dr.
Drewnowski).
Older people are most likely to improve their eating habits, but nutrition is important for people of all
ages, says Walter Willet, M.D., chairman of the nutrition department at the Harvard School of Public
Health. We know that when people have health problems or their friends become ill, these are strong
motivators of change, the more serious the health condition, the more serious the change. We d rather
have people make changes early and prevent health problems in the first place. (Willet).

The engineering design that went behind building such a massive barrier is unbelievable. While
building started in 1931, it is clear that there was a huge push to make this structure even decades
before the first shovel pierced the earth. The American agriculture in the southwest, was going through
a cycle of floods and droughts, this would make for very harsh growing conditions. Engineers felt that
it was possible to block the Colorado River, which would allow for regulation of the water and also
hydroelectric power. This massive project would not have been possible without the financing of a
very large company. During the middle of the depression, it was extremely hard to find a company
who was willing to front the money to start the project. One was found and for close to forty nine
million dollars, the dam was financed by six different smaller construction companies.
The first thing that needed to be constructed was roads that lead up to the dam site. Hoover dam isn t
anywhere close to any towns or cities. The railroads didn t even lead up to it. The first order of
business was to make the dam accessible by the cars and trains that would be bringing in the supplies
necessary to make the dam. In order to try and stop the water from flowing down to the dam site, a
cofferdam was built slightly upstream, and another slightly down stream from the dam site. This

Executive Marketing And Creative Services
Hightower recognized that in licensing you were able to earn regular royalty but are never a core
business to your licensee. (Jick Peiperl, p. 416) Therefore, he slowly transitioned into publishing. He
also established marketing and creative services that oversaw common resources and activities. He
also created mega deals with European market, which allowed him to consolidated operations. A
worldwide market was operation was developed, in this approach Dennis expressed that once a
decision is launched he allowed his country managers to respond to his ideas to ensure they all move
in concert. His theory was not order but to persuade others to move in sync. The organization needed a
renewal; therefore, he capitalized on the demise of communism to launch a Disney market in Europe.
During these major changes, Hightower was not afraid to change out managers who were afraid of
change, as a result of this; managers felt that they were losing their autonomy during this process.
The apparel business was one of the company s largest merchandise in terms of revenue and it
generated more than 30 percent to the retail sales of all Disney licensed products. (Jick Peiperl, p. 422)
I believed that Hightower made the appropriate choice when he added a team to address these issues
to develop a strategy. The question is how was the strategy addressed? In an organization such as
Hightower there should be a streamlined approach on how to deal with this. Four manufacturers were

Essay On Women s Role In The Revolutionary War
Women in the Armed Force have come a long way from their small involvement in 1775 during The
American Revolutionary War. The American Revolutionary War was the first time American women
played a role in the military. Women in this time were only allowed to serve in the battlefield as water
bearers, nurses, cooks, saboteurs and laundresses. In 1861 The United States broke out into a civil war
over the abolishing of slavery, this particular war plays a major importance in the women s military
history. This war plays a major importance because it shows that women still served in war despite not
actually being a part of The Army. Dr. Mary Walker was a surgeon working alongside the Union Army

In 1918 America found itself in World War 1, this war has major significances in the history of women

was not for its large number of women nurses, but for the first 18 African American women that were
involved. These pioneer women served stateside caring for German prisoners of war and African
American soldiers. In December 7, 1941 the United States was boomed by Japanese fighter planes this

A Comparison Of The Holidays In Thanksgiving, Christmas...
While holidays have often been criticized as ploys to push consumerism on to the public, they have
also been widely recognized as a reason for families to come together and interact with one another.
These annual interactions often repeated certain behaviors, thus they serve as guidelines for how the
family should operate during future holidays. To gain a better understanding on the connection
between family identity and family rituals, I decided to interview my father on his Thanksgiving,
Christmas and New Year s Eve traditions. During my interview with my father I observed that the
holiday rituals present within his family have contributed largely to the way he perceives his family
identity. Through this paper I will be using content from the interview regarding traditions for
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year s Eve, as well as other academic material to analyze how
holiday traditions contribute to my father s perception of his family identity. To begin, when I asked
my father to describe the essentials to his ideal Thanksgiving, the first thing he mentioned was the
preparation of traditional ethnic foods. He went on to detail foods such as candied yams, macaroni and
cheese and spiraled honey ham. By my father listing these ethnic foods as essential to an ideal
Thanksgiving, it shows us that his ethnicity contributes to the way he believes the family should
function during the holiday. Another detail that he mentioned as important to his ideal Thanksgiving
was the

The Market Revolution Of The African-American Slavery In...
In the United States, slavery had an overwhelming impact on their political, social, and economical.
Jamestown, Virginia in 1619, the first African slaves were brought into the United States. Reasons
were because the tobacco, sugar, rice, and coffee fields were expanding which led to increasing the
demand for labor. The Atlantic slave trade was an inhuman systematic importation of slaves between
the African traders, American planters, and the European merchants bargaining over human lives
which led to the Middle Passage. 1675 1775, the slaves were the backbone of monoculture labor and
so it was put into law to keep the Africans as slaves. So prevalent was this Italian operated slave trade
that the word slave was derived from the word Slav, name for people from Slavic countries (Williams
3). In both seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the African American slaves helped build the
economic foundations of the new nation. After the War of 1812, three historical processes unleashed
by the Revolution, which were the following: the spread of market relations, the westward movement
of the population, and the rise of a vigorous political democracy. The same steamboats and canals that
were used by millions of farmers to send their goods to the markets also facilitated the growth of the
slave based cotton plantations in the South. In the first half of the nineteenth century, the market
revolution swept over the United States. Both the westward expansion and the market

between non Indigenous people by putting in place strategies that advocate cultural inclusivity. The
first strategies I would use would be would be to make people aware. Being aware of the local
aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander communality. Also being aware of their local heritage. When
the centre is aware of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander community and the issues they may
have. The centre can work in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torrs Straight island community to
provide the best care for them. The next strategy I would use would be to provide great
communication skills. This is to provide and understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight
Islander community. The best way to communicate is to be a good listener, and being open when you
communicate. I would also recommend these strategies when communicating with Aboriginal and
Torres Straight Islanders: Treat everyone as an individual Being with a relationship of trust Use of a
mentor Use preferred local name for Indigenous people Acknowledge country Be and active listener
Seek more than one opinion Relationship first Use eye contract in a culturally appropriate way Use
silence positively Men s and women s business Indigenous language Become skilled at difficult
interactions For strategy number three, I would make sure that the centre is accessible and inclusive. I

To the extent it affects them varies on the company. The products manufactured by companies can
become non useful or not as in demand as they were before. The lack of productivity is another reason
for downsizing. A last few deciding factors are the government deregulating certain industries and
excessive overhead costs. Based on a 1997 survey by the American Management Association, the
most often claimed reasons for downsizing are organizational restructuring, business downturn, and
reengineering of business processes. However, downsizing basically comes down to one issue that all
of these factors stem from, money. When a company does not have any money or not enough, it
causes problems in the company. In Downsizing Without Disaster, Lynn Tylczak states that everything
takes money, and without it a company cannot survive (4 7).
A corporation needs to have a strategic plan in place in order for them to be able to implement a
downsizing. There are many pros and cons to downsizing and it has a ripple effect on everyone in the
corporation. Depending on the planning of the downsizing, one of the big issues to decide on is how to
choose who will be terminated. For example, do you go by seniority, a percentage from all
departments, an entire department, or by job level or position? These are major options that need to be
addressed before anything happens. Most corporations today exist less for the well being of employees

The Importance Of Faith And Belief
Human beings have an inherent faith and belief system regardless of whether they are aware of it. It
originates from traditions and upbringing and is the center of one s being. Faith and belief have
different content and methods of questioning and understanding the content. It is important to
understand the difference and not to interchange faith and belief because it can cause
misunderstandings and negative consequences. William K. Clifford and Paul Tillich define faith and
faith through descriptions of what they are, what they are not, and how one can reach good faith and
belief through asking the right questions based on types of doubt. As a result of faith and belief being
elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it is essential to
know the discrepancies between each.
According to Tillich, faith is a matter of ultimate concern that promises total fulfillment (Tillich, 1).
Concern is content that is infinite and valued at the core of human beings. Ultimate refers to
something that is put above all other values and involves sacrifice as it orients our lives to reach an
infinite goal of fulfillment. Faith is an act of the total personality (Tillich, 4). It comes from the center
of our being and includes all aspects of a person s life. Genuine faith requires existential doubt which
involves questioning even when a finite answer does not exist. It is a risk to put faith in something that
is not finite or capable of being

Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay
CHAPTER FOUR
MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL
4.1Introduction
Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse
effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social
conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors
reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade
causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary
authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price.
Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international
empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread
phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or
different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable.
Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation
theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has
played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999),
Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of
forecasting error than other alternative models. In recent years there have

The euro was introduced as a single currency as it offered many advantages over the previous situation
where each European country had its own currency. One of the main objectives of introducing the
euro was to strengthen relations between member states. The idea, rather a simple one, if you get
countries to trade with each other then they are a lot less likely to go to war. It seems a legitimate
reason, as Western Europe has been at peace now for nearly seventy years and counting.
To explain a little more about the history of introducing the euro, throughout the 1960s on to the 1980s

One downside is that the interest rates set by the ECB may not be suitable for the whole Eurozone. It
may be unsuitable for countries that are growing much faster or slower than the Eurozone average. In,
2011, the ECB increased inflation rates because of fears of inflation in Germany, however during the
same time, southern Eurozone countries were heading for recession because the interest rates set were
unsuitable for countries such as Portugal Greece and Italy.
There is also a lack of incentives being apart of the Eurozone as it is argued being a member protects a
country form currency crisis. Therefore, there is less of an incentive for countries to implement
structural reform and fiscal responsibility. For example, in good times Greece was able to benefit from
very low bond yields on its debt because people thought that the Greek debt would be taken and
secured by the rest of Europe, but this wasn t the case and Greece fell victim to a false sense of
security.
Also the Eurozone is not an optimal currency area due to language barriers. For example if a state in
the New York was facing a recession workers could easily move to New England to get a job,
however in the Eurozone this is much more difficult. There are a lot more barriers to the movement of
labour and capital in Europe. An unemployed Greek cannot easily move to

feminaw Feminist Reading of Kate Chopin s The Awakening...
A Feminist Reading of The Awakening
The Awakening is not new to me. However, in the class when I read it before the instructor refused to
entertain a feminist criticism. The theory presented was that Edna knew what kind of man she was
marrying and all these things she went through: her friendship with Madame Reisz leaving the house,
entertaining her friends at the party, her situation with Robert and Arobin were all selfish efforts
toward the ultimate freedom which is death.
I feel Chopin faults Leonce as much as Edna for Edna s problems. He is a cold fish. He is controlling
and he puts on a show for friends and neighbors proving he is a model husband which he is not. He is

Her search for freedom builds and destroys relationships. She befriends people and then chooses to
ignore them. Her final big party is her final farewell. She brings out all the sensuousness that her
reserve had kept her from expressing and enjoying. Everything pleasing to the senses is there for her
guests. There are colors, textures, tastes, and sounds for the senses to luxuriate. But all this sensory
enhancements doesn t keep her attention. She feels the same old ennui, and the party shortly thereafter
breaks up. Of course, all this meets with Leonce disapproval. His concern is not about his wife s
mental or emotional health, but rather, what people will say.
To experience freedom of the soul Edna has no choice but to return to the sea. It is the only thing
capable of giving her the emotional security and sensual satisfaction at the same time. She goes to it
and allows it to claim her.
Like many of Chopin s stories, The Awakening ends in a death. Chopin apparently sees death as the
ultimate freedom. No matter what we do as women in this world we are always restricted in our
movements by some facet of our lives. While Chopin tries to speak for women, I think this premise
that our lives are restricted also applies to men. There may not be as many restrictions but they are
there. Freedom s just another word for nothin left to loose. Janis Joplin

How Spirit Airlines With American Airlines Essay
WHY I CHOSE THIS COMPANY
Founded in 1964, Spirit Airlines actually began operations in the trucking industry under the name
Clippert Trucking Company, based in Michigan. In subsequent years the firm encountered many
changes in name, headquarters, as well as shifted into different industries entirely. In 1983, the
company branched out into the charter tour operating sector, as Charter One. Particularly, they
provided tours to entertainment destinations such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the islands to the
southeast of Florida known as The Bahamas.
Almost three decades late in 1992, the company officially changed its name to the ultra low cost
passenger carrier company we all know today as Spirit Airlines, which is based in Fort Lauderdale
Hollywood International Airport, under CEO Ben Baldanza. These series of changes in industry, in
combination with the fact that I am an avid Spirit flyer, definitely sparked my interest in further
investigating the financial stance of the company.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to compare Spirit Airlines with American Airlines using the financial
ratios of liquidity, activity, debt, profitability and the market, and to derive some concrete conclusions
about the financial nature of Spirit Airlines. According to Spirit Airlines (2015) Historic Stock

Investigating the Kinetics of the reaction between Iodide ions and Peroxodisulphate (VI) ions
By the use of an Iodine clock reaction I hope to obtain the length of time taken for Iodine ions (in
potassium iodide) to react fully with Peroxodisulphate ions (in potassium Peroxodisulphate). I will do
three sets of experiments changing first the concentration of iodide ions, then the concentration of
Peroxodisulphate ions and finally the temperature of the solution in which the reaction is taking place.
From these results, I hope to draw conclusions as to the effects of these changes to the environment of
the reaction on the rate and also determine the order of the reaction and the activation enthalpy.

Effect of Temperature
A basic law of physical chemistry is that an increase in temperature causes an increase in the rate of
any reaction. As the collision theory states, for a reaction to take place the particles need to collide. If
the temperature is increased, each particle has greater kinetic energy transferred from the heat energy,
and therefore is moving faster (the average speed of molecules is proportional to the square root of the
absolute temperature.) The faster the particles are moving, the more likely they are to collide and
therefore the faster the reaction. Also, the more energy transferred to each particle due to increased
temperature the more likely it is to surmount the activation enthalpy and again the higher the number
of effective collisions. As a general rule, the rate of a reaction doubles for every increase of 10K in
temperature.
The diagram below demonstrates the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction. Despite the initial
increase in the energy of particles of a lower temperature, one can see that those at a higher
temperature eventually surpass and lead to an overall higher amount of particles with energy higher
than the activation enthalpy and therefore a greater number of effective collisions.
The exact relationship between temperature and rate of reaction was first proposed by a Swedish
chemist called Arrhenius in

Julius Caesar Polonius Quotes
At the end of act III scene 3, Claudius decides to send Hamlet off to England because of his strange
behavior. Claudius could have done this earlier in the play, which would have made it hard for Hamlet
to find out that Claudius murdered King Hamlet. But he only chooses to do this now. I think this goes
to show Claudius s bad judgment and his arrogance. He seemed to think that Hamlet would never find
out about the murder and that s why he kept him close. In addition, it is interesting to see how
stubborn Polonius is. Even after eavesdropping in on the conversation between Hamlet and Ophelia,
he still believes that Hamlet s madness is caused by Ophelia leaving him. He is so set on his opinion,
and I wonder if this trait of his is going to play a larger role in the future. Also, shouldn t Polonius get

In the beginning of act III scene 2, I found it interesting that Polonius mentioned that he use to act

calm. This shows that Hamlet is able to control his emotions and temper, which most likely suggests

An Analysis of Succession Planning as a Strategy for...
1. INTRODUCTION
Built on the idea of change, the roots of succession planning (SP) lie within anthropology and the
study of kinship (Fox, 1967, pp. 16 7, 1993; Fortes, 1970, p. 305; Parkin, 1997, pp. 22 3, 127). Early
work into business succession by authors such as Christensen (1953), Gouldner (1954), Trow (1961),
and Guest (1962) helped to fuel its dissemination into a wider management context, which in the
present day encompasses leadership planning, change management, human resources, and indeed
almost any area of business involving change. While it may not have received as much attention in the
general management literature as one might expect, it is unarguably a critical issue for any

is an area where comparatively little rigorous research has been carried out, particularly with respect
to methods of application. The aim of this paper is to synthesize the available evidence in order to
provide a broad reflection of how succession planning affects various types of businesses, to report on
approaches towards the use of succession planning including barriers against it and financial and legal
matters, to identify evidence relating to best practice, and to highlight gaps where further work might

Japanese American Style Essay
As you look on the television and are constantly bombarded by issues of racial calamity in this day
and age, do you notice a specific unrepresented group? For me and several of my fellow peers, this
answer is clearly a yes. The topic that I m choosing to talk about in relation to this class is the Asian
Advantage or the less well known name, Model minority. From the very beginning of life, Asian
Americans are characterized and limited to a specific subset of life. Often times, this subset is often
seen as positive, therefore negating any consequence or fault that this myth may have.
The model minority myth was created in 1966 by sociologist William Petersen in an article, Success
Story: Japanese American Style , that was published in the New York Times Magazine. In this article,
it talks about the reasons why Japanese Americans have been successful in the United States even
after being condemned into internment camps. The timing of this article, however, was very
convenient in timing because it was released only a year after the Moynihan report, which stated that
the reasons that African Americans were faltering in their own socio economic status was because they
weren t doing what the model minority, Japanese Americans, were doing (Wang 2016).
If you look back in history, even the government is clearly guilty of influencing the public perception
on different groups of people. With the Immigration Act of 1965, it only allowed for skilled and
educated immigrants from Asia

Christopher Maurice Brown Research Paper
Christopher Maurice Brown was born May 5, 1989. He was born in Tappahannock, Virginia. He was
known for his singing talent when he joined his church choir. Chris had a tough childhood. He
witnessed his stepfather abusing his mother. The things he went through could relate to me in that
same exact way. February 8, 2009 he brutally beat up his then girlfriend. Anyway, personally think he
witnessed it so much that in his relationship with Rihanna he had so much anger and he blacked out
from the arguments they had in the car that he beat her the same way his stepfather did to his mother.
He did feel bad. He did his five year probation time and six month community service. After then he

A Report On Aviation Safety
AVIATION SAFETY
ASAN JOSEPH
FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
There have been various steps across the globe directed at improving aviation safety. This is done by
engaging in partnerships with the various manufacturers, regulators, operators, unions, and other
stakeholders in the industry. The most feasible way of dealing with aviation safety is to analyze the
main factors that cause risks within the aviation sector, these ranges from human factors and outdated
equipment to recent threats like terrorism (Caldwell Williams, 2012). Insecurity leads not only
disruption of the business of airline companies but also loss of lives and this is unacceptable. There
should be systems to ensure all the security lapses within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The international Helicopter Safety team This team was formed in Montreal in 2005 (Howell, 2007).
The main goal for the formation of the team was to put in place strategies that would ensure a decrease
in the rate of helicopter accidents all across the world. Its aim was to reduce the accident rates by 80%
within a time frame of a decade, using the same strategies that had been adopted by the Commercial
Aviation Safety Team. The team uses real time accident data to analyze the causative factors of any
accident and then based on this; action was taken to ensure that such accidents did not occur again in
the future. To ensure full representation, the team consisted of safety experts drawn from regulators,
operators, and engine and airframe manufacturers (Lutz, 2011). They managed to come up with
recommendations and the proper implementation plans to ensure that the safety enhancements they
were making had the most benefit to the industry.
European Strategic Safety Initiative This initiative was collaboration between the European Air Safety
authority and other industry regulators. Its main aim was to improve the safety for passengers on

Daoism And Confucianism
Roles Under the Chinese Golden Age
The three main belief systems that shaped daily life in China under the Tang and the Song period:
Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. Each played an important role in Chinese culture.
Daoism, an indigenous religion philosophical tradition that has shaped Chinese life for more than
2,000 years. In the broadest sense, a Daoist attitude toward life can be seen in the accepting and
yielding, the joyful and carefree sides of the Chinese character. An attitude that balances the moral and
duty conscious. Stark and deliberate character ascribed to Confucianism. Additionally, Daoism is
characterized by a positive, active attitude toward the occult and the metaphysical, whereas the
heathen, realistic Confucian tradition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buddhism needed the help of the ruling emperor to prosper, or suffered under their objection. Emperor
Wuzong, a faithful Daoist who viewed Buddhism as a barbaric, foreign religion used by those to

Buddhist temples became havens of refuge during times of the problem; land gifted to temples and
monasteries allowed monks to flourish their crops, and often, remains neutral from conflicts.
Buddhism was also useful for political reasons: some emperors persecuted them in favor of Daoism,
some adopted Buddhism to appease the masses (in Yuan Dynasty), and some manipulated Buddhist

Should Father s Receive Paid Paternity Leave
In this day in age we find ourselves wondering if is feasible for men to get paid paternity leave, since
women get paid maternity leave after they have their baby. You have to really think about this though,
because not all companies pay women to take maternity leave. So why would we pay our men to take
paternity leave when not all women get paid when they have no choice but to take off after having a
baby. So I want you to ask yourself, Should father s get paid for paternity leave? There are some good
aspects to having the father take paternity leave. Say, companies did offer ... Show more content on

Having the father home will help with daycare cost when the mother goes back to work. There are
some potential downsides to men having paid paternity leave. Most countries make parental leave
open to both men and women; women take the vast majority of leave. When leave is long, this can
have some consequences for women s place in the labor market. For example, in Sweden parents have
the right to a parental leave for up to 18 months, but women take nearly 85% of parental leave. The
major goal of Swedish policy these days is to encourage men to take more parental leave; already
there are two month daddy only leaves, which are lost to the couple if the father doesn t take them.
The problem with fathers taking paternity leave is that the fathers are scared to take leave for the fear
that they may lose their jobs. Companies should offer paternity leave for expectant fathers. By
offering paternity leave for fathers to be companies allow fathers to be a benefit of paid or unpaid time
off work to care for their child, make arrangements for the child s welfare, and preparation for the
adoption of a child. Generally, offering paternity leave for fathers allows them to benefit the birth of a
child. Companies that provide the option of paternity leave grant these fathers the privilege of being
present for labor, delivery, and any other emergency procedures that may be necessary. Paternity leave
provides the father with an advantage to be able to care for their

Racial Disparity In Law Enforcement
Race is used by law enforcement as a determinate of one s potential criminality, therefore disregarding
one s behavior, but rather judging by ethnic or racial appearance. One s race is at constant
discrimination and without reforms to policy, minorities will remain targets for law enforcement and
society around the world and the United States. The reduction of biased law enforcement will
minimize racial profiling within the prison population, as well as at a state and local level. According
to figure one a special estimation was used to identify a racial composition of drivers and was applied
to traffic stop data in ninety two Missouri municipalities. The estimation was conducted as a
navigation to better understand racial disparity in traffic

  • 3. Influence Of The Classical World Upon Dante s The Inferno The Influence of the Classical World Upon Dante s The Inferno Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet and writer of the 13th century, creates a fictional account of his visions of his journey through Hell. His background as a Catholic influences his life and his writings, including The Inferno. He uses the historical and political events of his lifetime to influence his writings as well. Dante is educated and very familiar with the history and literature of the classical world. In The Inferno, he expresses his admiration for Greco Roman history, literature, mythology, and philosophy, but he also places limitations on the ability of the classical world to gain salvation as taught and believed in Christian doctrine. In Canto I, Dante begins his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dante is saying that Virgil cannot enter heaven because he lived before Christ. Dante admires the classical Roman world but rejects it as the path of salvation to God. In Canto II, Dante says he is unworthy to make the journey with Virgil. Dante summarizes what happens in The Aeneid when Aeneas descends into the underground and sees his father. Later, the descendants of Aeneas establish Rome. Dante believes God favored Virgil as a Roman because eventually St. Peter would be in Rome. In that quest, which your verses celebrate, he learned those mysteries from which arose his victory and Rome s apostolate (25 27). Dante names St. Paul as another person who preached Christianity in Rome, bearing the confirmation of that Faith which is the one true door to life eternal (29 30). Virgil convinces Dante that he has been sent by God to guide Dante through Hell. In Canto III, Dante and Virgil arrive at the first river of Hell, Acheron, which was part of Greek mythology. Charon, the ferryman, is also from Greek mythology. In Canto IV, Dante and Virgil arrive at the first circle, which Dante refers to as Limbo. Limbo holds the souls of the Virtuous Pagans, people who were born before the time of Christ. Virgil says, that these were sinless. • 4. Reaction Paper On Arrhythnia The heart is the most complex organ in the human body and without it, the body cannot survive. If the heart does not respond the way its suppose to, it can cause major health altercations or even death. As time has progressed, technology has progressed as well. Scientists have discovered many procedures to help the heart stay in rhythm. Some of the most famous and common procedures discovered are the pacemaker and heart valve replacement. These procedures have become easier over time and are the most reliable procedure to keep the heart functioning. Scientist have also found solutions for arteriosus, which is a defect in the heart that happens right after birth. Doctors are using pacemakers to send electrical impulses to keep the heart in rhythm, replacing or fixing defective valves for proper circulation, and surgeries to clamp PDA. These heart procedures are common and useful. The pacemaker is a complex device that sends electrical impulses to the heart to keep it in a normal rhythm. Most of the time doctors implant pacemakers to treat arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are problems with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. During an arrhythmia, the heart can beat too fast, too slow, or with an irregular rhythm (MedicineNet). Arrhythmia has two different stages and they re called: bradycardia and tachycardia. Tachycardia is the condition where the heart beats too fast and bradycardia is the condition where the heart beats too slow. The pacemaker then changes the defective rhythm ... These states simplified the probate process for estates that are straightforward; not complicated or contested. Fortunately, Massachusetts is one of those states. In Massachusetts, closing an estate using the simplified probate process involves the following tasks: 1) Complete a final inventory of assets. 2) Using the inventory of assets in the final accounting, complete the final accounting. 3) Under cover of an assent form, send copies of the inventory of assets and the final accounting to each beneficiary. 4) After receiving the signed assent forms from each beneficiary, the executor must sign the form called ... Simply put, the total in Schedule A must equal the total in Schedule B to produce a zero balance in Schedule C. Furthermore, filling in these schedules with the appropriate values is a collaborative effort. At times, throughout an estate administration, there are legal matters that the attorney must handle. If these matters produce income or expenses for the estate, the attorney should enter those values on the appropriate schedule. So, if the account doesn t balance in the initial attempts, the attorney will most likely step in to help find any discrepancies if needed. Once the final accounting balances, then the attorney will continue with the rest of the closing process mentioned above. At this point, the only remaining task for the executor is to distribute the rest of the property in the estate after signing the account form. . The Informal Closing of an Estate Although an estate may close informally, it doesn t mean that a probate court won t request information at a later date. Therefore, the executor should hold on to the original documents related to the informal closing. In addition, the executor should retain supporting documents related to entries in the final accounting such as receipts, bank statements, and brokerage statements. Basically, all an executor needs to do is store all the documentation used to produce the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1973, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) was passed. This enabled the Dept. of Commerce and Dept. of the Interior to place species, either land or marine, as either threatened or endangered. The term steward is used to mean that no one can truly own the land, it can only be used or under the care of a person. He uses clear cutting when it has the smallest effect on the environment, he also uses strip cutting in which the forest is cut in strips to provide a buffer zone and is more aesthetically pleasing. His methods are better for the forest due to conservative forestry practices that speed up the regeneration of the forest. This produces a more sustainable yield than clear cutting alone. While neither of these techniques is good for the environment, using wise management practices can still produce a large profit while conserving precious ecosystems. For large companies, such as Pacific Lumber, to switch to using conservative forestry practices would take more than proposals by environmentalists and the Forest Service to help the environment to change their current ways. For these companies to switch, it would cost them money to follow the more sustainable approach while also decreasing their profit due to less tree cutting in the short term. In my opinion, it is up to the government to set standards that force these companies to switch by making regulations more strict as well as a greater number of them if need be. The role ... My job was to ask for donations and sponsorships from local businesses in the Spokane area. The final activity that I am majorly involved in is chemistry tutoring. Last semester, I was a general chemistry tutor, and this semester I tutor organic chemistry. As part of both jobs, I would attend a lecture section and take the tests and quizzes to test my chemistry knowledge. I would also hold office hours where I would tutor students. The Violence Of Black People And People Of Color Essay Since its not so humble beginnings in the early 1600s, the country in which we live has had a plethora of incidents regarding the mistreatment of black people and people of color. From slavery, to lynchings, to assassinations, and so forth, the pain and suffering of African Americans has been very much apart of the rich history of the United States of America. Even so, with each new generation, we as a people have continued to face abuse and exploitation. At this point in our ongoing narrative, the premise of our grief has shifted to shed a light on the prominence of brutality in American police force practices. This ever so popular conversation begins with Trayvon Martin in the year of 2012. Martin was a 17 year black boy who was attacked and shot by neighborhood watchman, George Zimmerman (29) as he was walking home from a convenience store (Trayvon Martin Shooting 1). This young man was the first police brutality victim since Rodney King to receive an abundant amount of media coverage and public support. His death reinstated a nationwide conversation about the mistreatment of African Americans when it comes to law enforcement in this country. It caused many people to come up with a plan of action, and not long after he passed, the infamous nationwide movement referred to as Black Lives Matter ensued (Herstory 1). Regardless of this one tragic incident, it has come to be understood that the murder of innocent black people by the hands of police has not ceased to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Can you imagine the vicious cycle created for the American poor? One of the endemic plagues of poverty, poor nutrition, has been further compounded by the fact that the less money you have, the less able you ll be to buy any truly nutritious foods. Dr. Adam Drewnowski, director of the center for public health nutrition at the University of Washington, reveals the very real daily challenge those on a tight budget face: If you have $3 to feed yourself, your choices gravitate toward foods which give you the most calories per dollar, not only are the empty calories cheaper, but the healthy foods are becoming more and more expensive. Vegetables and fruits are rapidly becoming luxury goods. (Dr. Drewnowski). Older people are most likely to improve their eating habits, but nutrition is important for people of all ages, says Walter Willet, M.D., chairman of the nutrition department at the Harvard School of Public Health. We know that when people have health problems or their friends become ill, these are strong motivators of change, the more serious the health condition, the more serious the change. Engineers felt that it was possible to block the Colorado River, which would allow for regulation of the water and also hydroelectric power. This massive project would not have been possible without the financing of a very large company. During the middle of the depression, it was extremely hard to find a company who was willing to front the money to start the project. One was found and for close to forty nine million dollars, the dam was financed by six different smaller construction companies. The first thing that needed to be constructed was roads that lead up to the dam site. Hoover dam isn t anywhere close to any towns or cities. The railroads didn t even lead up to it. The first order of business was to make the dam accessible by the cars and trains that would be bringing in the supplies necessary to make the dam. While holidays have often been criticized as ploys to push consumerism on to the public, they have also been widely recognized as a reason for families to come together and interact with one another. These annual interactions often repeated certain behaviors, thus they serve as guidelines for how the family should operate during future holidays. To gain a better understanding on the connection between family identity and family rituals, I decided to interview my father on his Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year s Eve traditions. During my interview with my father I observed that the holiday rituals present within his family have contributed largely to the way he perceives his family identity. Through this paper I will be using content from the interview regarding traditions for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year s Eve, as well as other academic material to analyze how holiday traditions contribute to my father s perception of his family identity. To begin, when I asked my father to describe the essentials to his ideal Thanksgiving, the first thing he mentioned was the preparation of traditional ethnic foods. He went on to detail foods such as candied yams, macaroni and cheese and spiraled honey ham. Jamestown, Virginia in 1619, the first African slaves were brought into the United States. Reasons were because the tobacco, sugar, rice, and coffee fields were expanding which led to increasing the demand for labor. The Atlantic slave trade was an inhuman systematic importation of slaves between the African traders, American planters, and the European merchants bargaining over human lives which led to the Middle Passage. 1675 1775, the slaves were the backbone of monoculture labor and so it was put into law to keep the Africans as slaves. So prevalent was this Italian operated slave trade that the word slave was derived from the word Slav, name for people from Slavic countries (Williams 3). In both seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the African American slaves helped build the economic foundations of the new nation. After the War of 1812, three historical processes unleashed by the Revolution, which were the following: the spread of market relations, the westward movement of the population, and the rise of a vigorous political democracy. The same steamboats and canals that were used by millions of farmers to send their goods to the markets also facilitated the growth of the slave based cotton plantations in the South. To the extent it affects them varies on the company. The products manufactured by companies can become non useful or not as in demand as they were before. The lack of productivity is another reason for downsizing. A last few deciding factors are the government deregulating certain industries and excessive overhead costs. Based on a 1997 survey by the American Management Association, the most often claimed reasons for downsizing are organizational restructuring, business downturn, and reengineering of business processes. However, downsizing basically comes down to one issue that all of these factors stem from, money. When a company does not have any money or not enough, it causes problems in the company. In Downsizing Without Disaster, Lynn Tylczak states that everything takes money, and without it a company cannot survive (4 7). A corporation needs to have a strategic plan in place in order for them to be able to implement a downsizing. There are many pros and cons to downsizing and it has a ripple effect on everyone in the corporation. Depending on the planning of the downsizing, one of the big issues to decide on is how to choose who will be terminated. • 29. The Importance Of Faith And Belief Human beings have an inherent faith and belief system regardless of whether they are aware of it. It originates from traditions and upbringing and is the center of one s being. Faith and belief have different content and methods of questioning and understanding the content. It is important to understand the difference and not to interchange faith and belief because it can cause misunderstandings and negative consequences. William K. Clifford and Paul Tillich define faith and faith through descriptions of what they are, what they are not, and how one can reach good faith and belief through asking the right questions based on types of doubt. As a result of faith and belief being elements of the total person and the impact that one s person has on faith and belief, it is essential to know the discrepancies between each. According to Tillich, faith is a matter of ultimate concern that promises total fulfillment (Tillich, 1). Concern is content that is infinite and valued at the core of human beings. Ultimate refers to something that is put above all other values and involves sacrifice as it orients our lives to reach an infinite goal of fulfillment. Faith is an act of the total personality (Tillich, 4). It comes from the center of our being and includes all aspects of a person s life. Modeling Of Forecasting Inflation On Nepal Essay CHAPTER FOUR MODELING OF FORECASTING INFLATION IN NEPAL 4.1Introduction Inflation is a burning economic problem in the developing countries like Nepal that brings adverse effects like loss of purchasing power of national currency, leading to the aggravation of social conditions and living standards. This also leads to uncertainty making domestic and foreign investors reluctant to invest in the economy. Additionally, inflation broadens the country s terms of trade causing domestic goods and services more expensive in the market. That is why; the monetary authority of every economy should have the objective of maintaining stable price. Inflation forecasting plays a central role in monetary policy formulation. Recent international empirical evidence suggests that with the decline in inflation of recent years, a fairly widespread phenomenon, the combined dynamics of this variable and its potential predictors, such as money or different measures of the output gap, has changed, and inflation has become more unpredictable. Univariate models tend to show a better forecasting capacity than those based on various inflation theories, such as the Phillips curve. Traditionally, in industrialized countries the Phillips curve has played a predominant role in inflation forecasting, and according to Stock and Watson (1999), Atkenson and Ohanian (2001) and Canova, (2002), it would seem to perform better in terms of forecasting error than other alternative models. PLANNING Investigating the Kinetics of the reaction between Iodide ions and Peroxodisulphate (VI) ions By the use of an Iodine clock reaction I hope to obtain the length of time taken for Iodine ions (in potassium iodide) to react fully with Peroxodisulphate ions (in potassium Peroxodisulphate). I will do three sets of experiments changing first the concentration of iodide ions, then the concentration of Peroxodisulphate ions and finally the temperature of the solution in which the reaction is taking place. From these results, I hope to draw conclusions as to the effects of these changes to the environment of the reaction on the rate and also determine the order of the reaction and the activation enthalpy. Background information The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Effect of Temperature A basic law of physical chemistry is that an increase in temperature causes an increase in the rate of any reaction. As the collision theory states, for a reaction to take place the particles need to collide. If the temperature is increased, each particle has greater kinetic energy transferred from the heat energy, and therefore is moving faster (the average speed of molecules is proportional to the square root of the absolute temperature.) The faster the particles are moving, the more likely they are to collide and therefore the faster the reaction. Also, the more energy transferred to each particle due to increased temperature the more likely it is to surmount the activation enthalpy and again the higher the number of effective collisions. As a general rule, the rate of a reaction doubles for every increase of 10K in temperature. The diagram below demonstrates the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction. Despite the initial increase in the energy of particles of a lower temperature, one can see that those at a higher temperature eventually surpass and lead to an overall higher amount of particles with energy higher than the activation enthalpy and therefore a greater number of effective collisions. The exact relationship between temperature and rate of reaction was first proposed by a Swedish chemist called Arrhenius in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Julius Caesar Polonius Quotes At the end of act III scene 3, Claudius decides to send Hamlet off to England because of his strange behavior. Claudius could have done this earlier in the play, which would have made it hard for Hamlet to find out that Claudius murdered King Hamlet. But he only chooses to do this now. I think this goes to show Claudius s bad judgment and his arrogance. He seemed to think that Hamlet would never find out about the murder and that s why he kept him close. In addition, it is interesting to see how stubborn Polonius is. Even after eavesdropping in on the conversation between Hamlet and Ophelia, he still believes that Hamlet s madness is caused by Ophelia leaving him. He is so set on his opinion, and I wonder if this trait of his is going to play a larger role in the future. Also, shouldn t Polonius get his head cut off for being wrong? In the beginning of act III scene 2, I found it interesting that Polonius mentioned that he use to act when he was at the university. He said I did enact Julius Caesar. I was killed i th Capitol. Brutus killed me (III, ii, 109 110). Although I have not read Julius Caesar, this seems to be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think this goes to show that Hamlet s madness is his acting and not his actual madness. In the previous scene, Hamlet was yelling at Ophelia about how women deceive men and how there shouldn t be marriage. But in this scene, when he finds out that Claudius murdered King Hamlet, he is pretty calm. This shows that Hamlet is able to control his emotions and temper, which most likely suggests his madness is acted. Now that we know Hamlet s madness is an act, it is important to find out why he is acting mad. Does it contribute to his plan to kill Claudius? It doesn t seem likely because his madness is causing Claudius to send him away, which prevents him from killing Claudius. It ll be interesting to see how the madness factors into his plan for ... • 39. An Analysis of Succession Planning as a Strategy for... 1. INTRODUCTION Built on the idea of change, the roots of succession planning (SP) lie within anthropology and the study of kinship (Fox, 1967, pp. 16 7, 1993; Fortes, 1970, p. 305; Parkin, 1997, pp. 22 3, 127). Early work into business succession by authors such as Christensen (1953), Gouldner (1954), Trow (1961), and Guest (1962) helped to fuel its dissemination into a wider management context, which in the present day encompasses leadership planning, change management, human resources, and indeed almost any area of business involving change. While it may not have received as much attention in the general management literature as one might expect, it is unarguably a critical issue for any corporation, team, or individual, to consider ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The clear message that can be gleaned from all this is that succession planning is a global issue, yet it is an area where comparatively little rigorous research has been carried out, particularly with respect to methods of application. The aim of this paper is to synthesize the available evidence in order to provide a broad reflection of how succession planning affects various types of businesses, to report on approaches towards the use of succession planning including barriers against it and financial and legal matters, to identify evidence relating to best practice, and to highlight gaps where further work might justifiably be carried out. 2. LITERATURE REVIEW 2.1. Concept of Manpower Planning As obtained in the literature, several studies have argued asserting that the function of personnel in contemporary organizations is undergoing a radical transformation; departing from the era of personnel administration to a concept of comprehensive and integrative approach that focuses on the adequate utilization and development of human resources (Burack, amp; Gutteridge, 1978; Fitzgerald, 1992; Bjornberg, 2002; Alphander, 1980). This new concept is referred to by several names such as human resource planning, manpower planning, human resource management, etc. This concept has been defined by different authors in various ways and the only conclusion is that manpower planning is referred to as the total package of the personnel related ... Hearst And Yellow Journalism Yellow Journalism The term yellow journalism was born in the 1890 and was a style of journalism that used hyperboles and personal biases in newspapers for political purposes. Also PBS states the rivalry of the two newspapers relied on headlines that would catch the media s attention, which would allow both to sell millions of newspapers. The use of yellow journalism is found in the document that was about the Maine ship sinking. The purpose of Hearst using yellow journalism, allowed him to make his views public and he gained political status. • 41. Japanese American Style Essay As you look on the television and are constantly bombarded by issues of racial calamity in this day and age, do you notice a specific unrepresented group? For me and several of my fellow peers, this answer is clearly a yes. The topic that I m choosing to talk about in relation to this class is the Asian Advantage or the less well known name, Model minority. From the very beginning of life, Asian Americans are characterized and limited to a specific subset of life. Often times, this subset is often seen as positive, therefore negating any consequence or fault that this myth may have. The model minority myth was created in 1966 by sociologist William Petersen in an article, Success Story: Japanese American Style , that was published in the New York Times Magazine. In this article, it talks about the reasons why Japanese Americans have been successful in the United States even after being condemned into internment camps. The timing of this article, however, was very convenient in timing because it was released only a year after the Moynihan report, which stated that the reasons that African Americans were faltering in their own socio economic status was because they weren t doing what the model minority, Japanese Americans, were doing (Wang 2016). If you look back in history, even the government is clearly guilty of influencing the public perception on different groups of people. So why would we pay our men to take paternity leave when not all women get paid when they have no choice but to take off after having a baby. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having the father home will help with daycare cost when the mother goes back to work. There are some potential downsides to men having paid paternity leave. Most countries make parental leave open to both men and women; women take the vast majority of leave. When leave is long, this can have some consequences for women s place in the labor market. For example, in Sweden parents have the right to a parental leave for up to 18 months, but women take nearly 85% of parental leave. The major goal of Swedish policy these days is to encourage men to take more parental leave; already there are two month daddy only leaves, which are lost to the couple if the father doesn t take them. The problem with fathers taking paternity leave is that the fathers are scared to take leave for the fear that they may lose their jobs. Companies should offer paternity leave for expectant fathers. By offering paternity leave for fathers to be companies allow fathers to be a benefit of paid or unpaid time off work to care for their child, make arrangements for the child s welfare, and preparation for the adoption of a child. Generally, offering paternity leave for fathers allows them to benefit the birth of a child.
