Advantages And Disadvantages Of Luggage
If you are a frequent traveller, the luggage that you carry can go a long way into giving you the
best travel experience but there is so many different types of luggage from carry ons, duffle bags,
luggage sets and suitcases,.Finding what is right for you requires some time to research the
different options and how they suit your needs. Here is a buying guide to help you arrive at the
right luggagefor you. Before delving deeper into the features, pros, and cons of different types of
luggage, there are a couple of things that you will need to look at first.
1. Think about how will you using the luggage

Of the two, ABS is lighter, it also happens to be more durable than polycarbonate. Hard sided
luggage designed like a clamshell, double the packing volume because there are basically two sides
giving your things more space.
There are benefits and disadvantages for using hard sided luggage. They virtually protect
whatever is packed inside. If you have breakables in your bag, they are most likely to stay safe. A
lot of plastic composite luggage have zipper attached to open and close. Zippers are a little
vulnerable. Some hard sided luggage employ metallic draw bolt latch which won t give way. If
you buy a set, you will see how easily you can stack bags. The bad thing about these types of
luggage is that they scuff and scratch very easily.
Wheeling your bags around
Wheels are great, even small backpacks have wheels that come in handy when picking up your
luggage you can make sure that this is not back breaking when there are wheels. You basically
have two options in this regard: a two wheeler or a four wheeler luggage. If you want something
that is easy to maneuver then a four wheeler that can be pushed and pulled in all directions. You can
navigate your way and take the beauty and interesting views that the country has to

Car Essay
Shifting gear to gear and racing down the street can be very fun. But in order to be able to
actually shift the gears and get the vehicle to move, their are many steps involved. With the
perfection of these steps you will be able to drive the vehicle smoothly and efficiently. The
equipment that will be needed for this process is usually the same for every vehicle. At a
minimum, you will need an open lot, a hill near by, and a manual transmissionvehicle. Once you
get the necessary equipment, it is time to get in the driver s seat of the vehicle. Once you are in
the driver s seat of the vehicle, grab onto the gear lever and move it left to right a couple of times.

To shift from first gear to second gear, you will depress the clutchall the way down, and move the
gear lever straight down into second gear. If the gear lever goes into neutral, second gear is all
the way left and straight back. When into the second gear notch, start to let out the clutch. When
the clutch is out, give the vehicle gas and continue to keep driving. Continue to watch the RPM
gauge is second gear as well. When it gets back up to 3000 3500 it is time to shift gears again.
Push the clutch all the way down, and move the gear lever into neutral and straight up. This will
put you into the third gear. When into the third gear and the clutch is all the way down, start to
release the clutch and start giving gas when the clutch is about half way out. Continue to give
the vehicle gas until the clutch is all the way out and drive as normal. When into third gear, the
RPM will still be climbing up, but it will start to go up slower and slower as the gears go up.
When the RPM gets back up to 3000 3500, press in the clutch. With the clutch pushed back in,
move the gear lever straight down all the way. This will put it into fourth gear. With the gear lever
in fourth gear, start to release the clutch and press back down on the gas. When your foot is off of
the clutch, continue to drive. Watching the RPM gauge again, drive until the RPM s hit 3000 3500.
It is then time to shift into

Examples Of Hyperbole In Romeo And Juliet
Mokokoma Mokhonoana once said, Love songs are nothing without exaggeration . Even though
Romeo and Juliet is not a love song, their love story is not the same without hyperbole. Hyperbolic
citations help to develop character because it quickly shows what characters are like based on the
things they say and do. In Romeo and Juliet, characters develop immensely throughout the play due
to hyperbole because of how it showcases the characters emotions and actions. Both Romeo and
Juliet s characters use hyperbole frequently and without it, their lovewould not be the same. In
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , hyperbole helps to develop the characters immaturity and
hasty decisions, by exaggerating their emotions and actions highlighting... Show more content on

After kissing Romeo for the first time, Juliet refers to Romeo as a saint, For saints have hands
that pilgrims hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers kiss (I.V.99). By using a
hyperbole like that, Juliet is demonstrating how immature she is, because of how passionate she
considers their love to be in only a few minutes. Within the day of meeting Romeo, Juliet is
already saying that [her] bounty is as boundless as the sea, [her] love as deep [and] the more
[she] give[s] to thee, the more [she has] for both are infinite (II.II.133 135). A hyperbole as
dramatic as what Juliet describes her love for Romeo to be, explains how passionate and
dramatic Juliet is when it comes to her love for Romeo, making Juliet s character immature and
dramatic. It does so because she has only known him for a day and she is already saying that her
love for Romeo is infinite, whereas if she was more mature she may want to take her time and
get to know him first. Also, with knowing Romeo for less than a day Juliet asks [Romeo to]
propose marriage (II.II.144) and she says that she would follow [him], [her] lord throughout the
world (II.II.148) once again proving how dramatic and immature Juliet is. Comparing Romeo to a
lord, shows how Juliet feels about their love, she considers it to be very passionate and doesn t seem

Examples Of Female Oppression In The Yellow Wallpaper
Female Oppression in The Yellow Wallpaper Charlotte Perkins Gillman s The Yellow Wallpaper
approaches some often overlooked topics in literature including how men and women interact
differently when it comes to serious situations such as how to help someone who is greatly
suffering from a mental affliction. The narrator of the text is Jane, and her husband John is
incidentally making her mental illness worse while he is in fact trying to help her get better.
John is not a bad person. He truly loves his wife and believes he is helping her. He is a doctor so
it is understandable that he would dismiss his wife s opinions and do what he assumes is best for
her. John represents the unintentional female oppression and male dominance and... Show more

Jane looks at him and declares, I ve got out at last in spite of you and Jane! And I ve pulled off
most of the paper, so you can t put me back! (86). At this point John fainted and Jane had to creep
over him (86). John becomes exactly what he is trying to prevent his wife from coming. He
viewed Jane s femininity as a weakness and tried to do everything in his power to make sure she
was rested and did not push herself too hard. Yet, John was the one who fainted, which is usually
considered a predominantly feminine trait. His fainting demonstrates the fragility of masculinity.
John ends up representing his own hidden femininity when he faints. It is often considered the
job of the man of the family to be strong and to protect the weaker sex. John s fainting ends up
proving that both men and women can experience high levels of distress when something
serious happens. John treats Jane like she is fragile and breakable, but it seems like he is just as
fragile and breakable, if not more so. Even though John ignores Jane when she tells him what she
thinks would be better for herself John is also denying himself the ability to show compassion to
his struggling wife. By treating his wife like she is unable to acknowledge her own needs John
becomes shocked when Jane descends into madness. If he had only listened

Analysis Of The Masthead Of Total Guitar
ront Cover
Firstly, Mastheads are found on the covers of all magazines. Conventionally, this masthead will be
somewhat related to music amore specifically, the genre of music that the magazine appeals to. For
example, the masthead of total guitar clearly states that the magazine will solely feature guitar
based music. I have named my magazine unplugged , this clearly relates to an acoustic style of
music as acoustic performances are often described as unplugged. My masthead does what it is
conventionally meant to do, give an immediate insight into that magazine.
Secondly, the positioning of my title is in the middle of the page as unplugged is a reasonably
long word. This follows the conventions set by magazines like billboard or ... Show more content on

Whereas Kerrang may use worn down effects front page features, the features on my front page are
very simple to represent the simple nature of acoustic music.
My cover lines are short but punchy containing ultimately, what the audience wants to see. For this I
have used artist s names. This is extremely common in existing music magazines, their most
important content concerns existing artists. Also following conventions, my artist s names are
much larger than any additional information underneath. Additionally, my all important cover story
is shown in the largest font on the page other that the masthead. This immediately grabs the
audience s attention and encourages them to find out more.
Another feature of my front page that aims to attract attention is a competition, the sticker with Win
inside demands attention without being too obvious as to what the competition involves, this
encourages the audience to read inside. This is conventional in all music magazines as a way of
attracting more potential customers towards the magazine.
Conventionally, although selling the magazine, the front cover doesn t give away too much about
the content of the magazine. Cover lines are typically vague and may use rhetorical questions or
quotes to attract attention. This method again encourages people to buy the magazine and read it. I
have done this on my own front page with a rhetorical question. My front page is also jam packed
with information, as you would expect from

Also, the proposed main and sub functions for PaaS evaluations will be presented. Lastly, the AHP
and LSP methods will be introduced to statistically evaluate the different cloud computing
platforms, such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, and OpenShift.
3.1. Benchmarks
There are several benchmarking concepts in the IT sector for decades. For computing power
performance benchmarking, the Whetstone Benchmarking algorithm have been used. It is adopted
by sector leaders for several decades. Whetstone algorithm was originally based on floating
operations, like many of the other benchmarking algorithms, such as Linpack, LM suite, HPCC.
However, in time, new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the second type, each query s scope was one hundred (100) records, and the connection,
statement and result set are again released and created for each of these queries. The single record
queries represent database operations like transactions targeting single records in tables. The
queries targeting one hundred (100) records represent bulk operations like the jobs running at the
end of day operations.
For main memory performance benchmarking, Stream benchmark algorithm is used. This
algorithm measures the sustainable real world bandwidth as real users faced, not the theoretical
peak values. It is a widely known and applied algorithm in memory bandwidth performance tests
[27]. The Stream algorithm is also a synthetic benchmark which creates synthetic workloads, not
the real world workloads. The benchmark measures the bandwidth performance by four long
vector / matrix operations, like copy , scale , add , and triad (combination of other three). The
algorithm assigns one of the arrays to another in order to measure the copy operation time and
bandwidth. For scale operation, it multiplies the elements of an array by a scalar value. In add
operation, it adds the elements of an array to the elements of another array and assigns the results
to a third array. Triad does the calculations of the three operations all together (copy, scale, and
add). In our evaluations, we have used the average of the results for these four

Bowen s version of The Demon Lover take on the principles of Harris The Demon Lover and

One must read this piece multiple times before its true genius can be seen; this story is much
like peeling an onion, tear jerking hard work included. It is revealed in this story that she does
not fit the common portrayal of the protagonized woman, as [she is] thirty four years old after
all... (Jackson 1), which clearly puts her as an outlier for her nativity and rash decisions. The
Scottish Ballad The Daemon Lover is the most simple and direct interpretation of the concept. It
is quite interesting to see that this piece still exists considering how long it took to write it
down. One of the ballad s major flaw is its consistent repetition, such as Now I am come for the
vows you promised me, /You promised me long ago; / My former vows you must forgive,/For I
m a wedded wife (Unknown 2). All most all of the woman s first arguments are stomped down by
the rest of the story. It is interesting to note how similar The House Carpenter by Bob Dylan is to
the original Demon Lover.

Does the company use superior products that ensure a long life expectancy? Does your potential
contractor use premium products? Do they offer any sort of warranties or promise of an
average life expectancy for their work? Keep in mind that the average life expectancy of a flat roof
in the United States is 13.4 years, so you ll want to look for a company that can not only deliver

The Beauty and Danger of Barangay Loyola Heights
Whether you are driving from C.P. Garcia, Commonwealth or White Plains, you can tell where
you are by spotting the towering buildings of Berkeley Residences or SM Blue. When you
happen to drive by this area, you can definitely feel the busy atmosphere with students and
professionals here and there either with a handful of papers to work on or just hanging out with
their friends or colleagues, and the air of rush hour in the morning and the afternoon. But in spite of
the frustrations of this crowded place brings daily, you can never deny the beauty of Barangay
Loyola Heights, home to several academic institutions such as the Ateneo de Manila University, and
where the concrete jungle and flora and fauna meet.
Meanwhile, Katipunan Avenue is a long stretch of buildings and institutions where higher
educational facilities and residential areas are situated and where students and businessmen flock
for meetings and the latest hangout places. Other areas of Barangay Loyola Heights like Esteban
Abada St. and Xavierville Avenue are also lined with similar establishments and high security
subdivisions. Also, the number of dormitories and high rise condominiums that cater students of
nearby universities is growing and the population of residents is increasing, so more and more
shops and restaurants are open 24 hours a week, all the more people are going to Katip in the dead

The upstream market undertakes mostly the manufacturing of hardware and development of
software. There are mainly four vendors in the manufacturing of hardware and these are consoles,
personal computers and mobiles. The mobile is viewed as the market of the future though very
small (Egenfeldt, 2013). The console market is very significant and Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony
dominate it. The software is developed in house by third party contractors and is owned directly by
publishers. They have less autonomy but enjoy security. The downstream segment consists of
distribution, both software and hardware. Software distribution is organized by publishers who
must obtain licenses and for the authority to sell games pertaining to a particular console and must
pay the manufacture some royalties for each game sold. Microsoft has its own publisher and it is
the only player that integrates the three functions of software development, hard ware
manufacturing and software publishing. United States is the industry leader followed by Japan and
then in the third place is France. The distribution has been organized by the manufactures through
local and regional subsidiaries that will pass their products to retailers. The three major markets for
the consoles are North America, Asia and Europe, though Europe has a strong downstream position
with small importance in upstream activities (Zachariasson, 2012). There are high barriers

The Occurrence Of Iron Deficiency Anemia
Nutrition is an essential component in the complex development of infants, mainly because of their
rapid growth in one year. One of the most prevalent nutrition problems among young children in the
United States is iron deficiency anemia.1 Anemia is defined as a reduction below normal in the
number of red blood cells per cubic millimeter in the quantity of hemoglobin, or in the volume of
packed red blood cells per 100 milliliters of blood.1 This reduction occurs when the balance
between blood loss and blood production is disturbed.1 Iron deficiency can be defined as absent
bone marrow iron stores, an increase in hemoglobin concentration of less than 1.0 g/dL after
treatment with iron, or other abnormal values.1 Iron deficiency is found to be more common
among low income children and among African American and Mexican American children.1 The
consequences of iron deficiency anemiainclude poor cognitive and motor development. The
purpose of this paper is to present four research studies all focusing on the occurrence of iron
deficiency anemiain newborns in developing countries. The first study will focus on the behavior
of infants with iron deficiency anemia2 in Costa Rica. The following study will exhibit anemia in

Nuclear Bomb Persuasive Essay
It is an ordinary Monday morning in New York City and you wake up to begin your day.
Emergency alarms suddenly fill the air and you rush outside to see what could possibly be
happening. Your neighbors are packing their cars and fleeing in a panic; you then hurry back
inside to watch the news. The emergency broadcast system appears on the screen and informs
you that nuclear missiles have been launched at the United States one of which is headed to your
city. Reality strikes you as you realize that there is nothing you can do except await the
impending death and destruction that is headed your way. The following was a possible scenario
that could happen to a world with nuclear weapons. The possibility of nuclear war could be
eliminated with the disarmament of nuclear weapons. In 1945, the first nuclear bomb was
deployed over Hiroshima, Japan claiming 90,000 lives. According to Nuclear Darkness , that bomb
contained only 15,000 tons of TNT, whereas a modern day nuclear weaponcontains 20,000,000
tons. If a modern day nuclear bomb was deployed, the results would be catastrophic. According to
Nuclear Arsenals , there are approximately 15,000 nuclear warheads in the world. That equals
roughly 300,000,000,000 tons of TNT. In the event of a nuclear war, life as we know it would

It would be advantageous if a school helps to foster effective use of tablets in education so that all

Categorizing Different Gaming Systems
Categorizing Different Gaming Systems
History of Game Systems:
Gaming systems have come a long way since 1967 when the very first video gaming console, the
brown box, was introduced to the world. It was invented by Ralph H. Baer who is also known as
The Father of Video Games . It was created in such a way so that it could be hooked up to any
kind of TV set. Games available for the console were simple virtual games such as Ping Pong,
volleyball, handball, chase games, light gun game, etc. This one device started somewhat of a
revolution and brought new ideas to various companies and leads on to various adaptations and
segues to make the branded consoles appealing to the public
After the brown box, the following made an appearance: (1972) The Magnavox Odyssey made its
outbreak as the world s first home video gaming console.
(1975) Pong is referred to as the first commercially prosperous video game, which actually led to
the start of the video game industry. Due to the success of this game system, several companies
began making games that copied Pong s gameplay, and ended up releasing new types of games.
(1977) Atari 2600 (VCS) was the first successful console with interchangeable cartridges that also
included 128 bytes of system ram.
(1980) Released by Mattel in 1979, The Intellivision video game console began development in
1978, less than a year after the Atari 2600 was introduced. Derived from the words intelligent

Amadeus Conflict Essay
I believe the central conflict in Amadeus is Salieri s jealousy towards Mozart. Salieri really
admires Mozart and his outstanding music even though Mozart is a few years younger than him.
Salieri begins to feel envy and jealousy towards Mozart when Mozart enters the emperor s palace
and calls one of Salieri s old songs a funny little tune. Mozart then proceeds to point out the flaws
in the piece and explains how Salieri could improve his piece making Salieri question why God
had blessed someone like Mozart with such talent.
In the following scene, we learn that Prince Elizabeth, the emperor s niece, needs a tutor. The
emperor immediately thinks of Mozart but Salieri being the envious individual that he is turns
the idea down quickly and suggests that he should have people apply for the position instead.
Mozart refuses to apply for the position so his wife Constanze decides to take matters into her
own hands and goes and speaks to Salieri; Salieri is part of the committee who reviews
applications for Prince Elizabeth s tutor. He is willing to help Mozart get the position only if

Differences Between Virginia And Virginia
Virginia has differences and similarities when it comes to slave narratives. To explain further
Virginia was the first in English history to become the royal colony. However, this is why the
details and experiences that these ex slaves gave in describing the institution of slavery and the
practice of slaverywere tremendously important the English kings that were always occupied.
Virginia House in the late 1630 s was highly recognized. Sir William Berkeley became governor
in 1941, the colony was well established and extended on this. European settlers had come on
legal contracts as servants, but many of them became working as freemen and farmers. There
were 250 Africans that came on board to work and were also slaves. They all were in with the
merchant class the had families in Virginia but was solely controlled by the government.
However, white males mostly had legal rights to owning properties in colonial periods and they
were qualified to vote. The white settlers had their own religious beliefs, they were Anglicans,
while the early settlers that were based in New York were either Puritans, Quakers, Protestants, or
Lutheran and also Morgans. The England civil war was introduced by Anglicans and support that
looked up to Charles I, also many of them came to Virginia to settle. The crowning in 1652, was
sent by Oliver Cromwell to the Puritan Common well being so that foreigners would engaged in

The Role Of Egocentrism In King Lear And The Stone Angel
When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self preservation, we undergo a
truly heroic transformation Joseph Campbell. Egocentric can be defined as having little or no
regard for interests or attitudes other than one s own. Throughout the novel, The Stone Angel by
Margaret Laurence the use of egocentrism is heavily exampled. As well as the play write King
Lear by William Shakespeare also illustrates the trait of egocentricity. The characters Hagar
Shipley (The Stone Angel) and King Lear (King Lear) both demonstrate slight regard for
opinions other than one s own. When a character abandons egocentricity incorrect assumptions
are no longer made, thus a new perspective will prevail. To begin, both Hagar and Lear express an
egocentric personality. Such as, Hagar and Lear express stubbornness when it comes to other
opinions. Hagar is stubborn towards her father, Jason Currie. During a flashback, Hagar tells her
father that she will marry Bram, It ll be done by me (49). After her father disagrees with the
marriage, Hagar communicates no regard concerning his opinion and marries Bram anyways. As
for King Lear, he as well is stubborn towards Kent. After disowning Cordelia, Kent attempts to give
Lear a wise opinion. Lear... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

interest for herself and not others. On the subject, Lear is self seeking due to his pride. After
Cordelia dents the pride of her father Lear responds with, Come not between the dragon and his

Did John F Kennedy Influence Martin Luther King Jr
John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. are both influential men from the nineteen sixtie s.
They impacted the American people in countless ways, changing our country forever. John F.
Kennedy was the thirty fifth and youngest president of the United States ( John F. Kennedy ).
When Kennedy was elected into office, he gave an inaugural address that will be remembered for
centuries. Martin Luther King was an African American baptist minister from Atlanta, Georgia (

John F. Kennedy s speech was proving to the nation, and world, that with him, nothing could
bring America down. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay
any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the
survival and success of liberty (Kennedy 511). Martin Luther King delivered a much more
emotional speech which showed he was extremely genuine about his cause. In I Have a Dream ,
Martin uses his beliefs and past experiences to join the people together. Martin lived in a time
where all Americans were promised the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness (King 371), but the white men still segregated the black men. After a complete
comparison of the great speeches given by Kennedy and King, there are many similarities and
differences. While they both spoke to American Citizens, King addressed those supporting him and
Kennedy addressed everyone. Both speeches were written to unify the American People. Despite
different causes, they both believed in our country s ability to be great. Their speeches may have
been given in two different style, Kennedy being more businesslike and King being very emotional,
but each of them delivered a speech that changed our nation and that will be remembered in our
country s history

Of Mice And Men Friendship Quotes
How did one stay happy in the Great Depression, the money losing era? Most people went along
alone, independent, and unhappy. Lennie and George, in the novella Of Mice and Men, stay
happy by being around each other developing a strong friendship. Crooks, the stable hand,
explains this, A guy needs someone to be near him. He whined. A guy goes nuts if he ain t got
nobody. (72). This quote stated by Crooks explains why friendship is important to everyone; you
become lonely and go nuts when you are alone. The author, John Steinbeck, illustrates that
friendship is important because without it, one becomes isolated. He shows the importance of
friendship in the relationship between two characters, George and Lennie. George and Lennie are

that he would never hurt him. This was said when Lennie was talking to the stable hand Crooks
while George was away. Crooks asked what would happen if George did not come back. Lennie
told him, George wouldn t do nothing like that. I been with George a long time. He ll come back

Western Religion Essay
Throughout this semester we focused on numerous different religious practices and traditions.
Focusing now on these new religious ideals and practices has provided many different suggestions
towards spirituality: Spirituality is personal, unique, self validating, authentic, and authoritative,
whereas religionis institutional, bureaucratic, social, inflexible hierarchical, and authoritarian
(Anderson and Young 295). Many of these new practices involve women, healing methods, and
alternative divine figures. Overall, it is a common theme from many of these spiritual practices to
not have a set textual religious book such as a Bible or Torah. In addition, they do not look up to a
spiritual figure, or have set rituals or practices: New Age... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In specific, with the Wiccan women: Wiccans are cautious about their relationships with others
and especially cognizant of their relationship with the earth (Anderson and Young 307). Along
with this, they believe: What you do, whether for good or for ill, returns to you (Anderson and
Young 307). This practice is stemmed from their Rule of Three. This rule is generalized as:
being careful for the things we wish for in life, as well as how actions can create consequences.
These consequences in large can create a chain reaction in consequences broadly on the world.
Along with this, magic or magick is an important aspect of Wiccans: Magic usually refers to the
ability to affect the outcomes of events through communal or individual thought and ritual action
(Anderson and Young 309). In correlation to the magic aspect of the Wiccan spirituality, many
members call themselves witches. With this title, many cast spells and use the magic to work
through the conscience of members. However this specific practice of spell work is not
required. As many people believe magic to be a sinister act or something out of a fictional story,
that speculation can be reflected on to this Wiccan act: Magic is usually contrasted with religion:
magic is seen as a way of manipulating the universe by using specific spells, whereas religion does
not use the universe as ultimately manipulable in this way (Anderson and Young 309). However
the Wiccan s loophole to this statement refers to the fact that their magic is less about manipulation
and more about using the power to evoke positive changes to the world. This magical practice gives
rise and support to the enchanted world they believe to live in rather than the cold world. Diving
deeper into this spiritual practice brought some confusion and questionability to mind. Although I
believe there could be many

Immanuel Kant On Good Will Analysis
Immanuel Kant writes about good will and according to him, good will is very objective. He
states that the only thing that is undoubtedly good in the world is the good will itself. Other
qualities like wealth, intelligence and bravery, for example, are characteristics in a person that
can be used for good or evil. Good will, on the other hand, is unquestionably good because even
though it might not bring positive results at all times, the good will in itself was always there
and that person was driven by good and pure motivations all along regardless if the end result
was good or not. In addition, monetary compensation for a good action would not make a good
action pure because that person was motivated by external elements instead of his or her own
good will. Furthermore, as human beings we possess obligations of good will and these
obligations are called duties . For example, all people should help somebody... Show more content

Regardless of what the final result might be, good will should always have the intention to do good
without any external factors influencing the person to do a good deed. To a certain extent, this ties
into the utilitarian philosophy because if good deeds cause pleasure, and pleasure leads to
happiness, then that means that the society as a whole is happier and therefore they are more
utile and more prosperous. When it comes to defining good will , Kant seems to be taking an
approach very similar to the one found in the Bible, so in everything, do to others what you would
have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew, 7:12) At the end of the
day, the intended purpose of these teachings, is to help us live a better and more fulfilling lifestyle
by helping those in need and understand why we do these actions. What motivates us to do these
actions? Why do we do them? These are all questions that not only Immanuel Kant intend to answer
but the Bible as

District 9 Archetypes
The movie District 9 and the novel The Devil and Miss Prym utilize different types of conflict,
archetypes, and philosophies to culminate its story line. District 9 is a science fiction movie
based on sick aliens arriving in South Africa and a man who transforms into one of them. It
explores the theme of social segregation and relativism in relation to their government. It also
explores the person versus self, type of conflict with the archetypes of the refugee and the other.
This movie also explores relativism according to the main character and the government. The
novel, The Devil and Miss Prym is about a man coming to a town and him testing the town of their

A Brief Note On The Illinois Road Worker
As evident, the infrastructure of our state is imperative to the success of our economic heartbeat.
The state of Illinois maintains approximately 4,000 miles of public roadways making our state s
road among the greatest challenges to our states budget whether it be through maintenance,
expansion, or pioneering new paths each factor has a common denominator. That common
denominator is the Illinois roadworker. Although in the past the demands of our states road
workers have come as demanding and in turn challenging to our state s motorists, it has become
second nature to thoroughly asses our road workers needs in the name of safety. This policy
memo serves as an informative tool in the discussion currently pending between our states
legislature and the Federal Highway Administration along with roadways worker representative
councils to include the National Safety Council (NSC), the Department of Transportation
(DOT), the Bureau of Safety Engineering (BSE) and M60 road workers union to begin the
process of distribution and utilization of what is known as positive protective devices (PPD), or
roadway barrier devices to be utilized in order to better protect roadway workers in all hours of
the day, in any season of the year, in any weather conditions. The current discussion involves
conditions for appropriate use of positive protection devices to effectively protect road workers

Part 1: Porter s National Diamond Analysis
Porter s national diamond analysis model has four main determinants, which are factor conditions,
related and supporting industries, demand conditions as well as strategy, structure and rivalry.
Factor Conditions
Factor conditions are those factors that can be utilised by companies inherently found within a
nation which might provide competitive advantage such as human resources, material resources,
knowledge resources, capital resources and infrastructure. These factor conditions can be built upon
by companies to improve their competitiveness.
Factor conditions could be divided into two resources as home grown resources and highly
specialised resources. As Michael Porter described, the home grown resources are important and in
the case of Tunisia includes the natural resource of a climate well suited to wine growing, plenty
of sunshine, fertile soil as well as limited pollution which all aid the industry of grape planting.
Political and historical factors through Tunisia s history such as the romans, French occupation
which resulted in over 600 caves being created for wine aging and a recent flourish in the Tunisian
wine industry after the 1980 s has left Tunisia with a number of cooperatives and engineers all with
specialist skills in wine production where modern techniques are being used creating innovation,
technical progress and competitive advantage.

Duty Of Care Case Summary
1. In this case Ms. Smith might sue a building management for entering her apartment with out her
consent or, at least, the notice. However, that statement might be rejected since the building
manager had to act fast in order to prevent further damages, caused by flooding, for Ms. Smith s
and her neighbor s apartments. There is no tort occurred because Mr. Johnson had a legal authority
to enter Ms. Smith s apartment. On the other hand, the tort occurred when Mr. Johnson moved Ms.
Smith s goods from her apartment to the locker. In this case, we can say that those goods are
chattels, which are movable forms of property. Trespass to chattels occurs when a person interferes
with chattels that are in another person s possession and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, she has to prove that defendant owes her a duty of care. It must be reasonable
foreseeable that Ms. Smith s goods could be damaged or stolen by the carelessness of the
building management. And, even if that was foreseeable, there might not be any policy
considerations that would make it unfair to impose duty of care. When Ms. Smith proves that
building management has to properly maintain locker premises and provide a decent security,
she can move to the second step. She has to prove that the defendant breached the standard of
care. Since Mr. Johnson didn t provide enough security to the locker and acted less carefully, the
standard of care was breached. The standard of care is based on the Reasonable Person Test ,
which means that Mr. Johnson must had acted in the same way that a reasonable person would
act in similar circumstances. This means that Mr. Johnson had to provide security measures in
order to keep Ms. Smith s goods safe. Next, Ms. Smith has to prove that the harm was caused.
Ms. Smith has to prove that she would not have suffered a loss of stolen goods but for the
defendant s carelessness. If she will prove that there is at least a 51% chance that the Mr.
Johnson s carelessness caused her loss, then the court will award damages for all of that loss.
Finally, Ms. Smith has to prove that that type of harm she suffered was a reasonably foreseeable
result of the defendant s carelessness. This can be proved by doing a remoteness test. When

The History Of The Peloponnesian War
The The History of the Peloponnesian War authored by Thucydides in 431 B.C.E and translated by
Richard Crawley expressively illustrates the plague of Athens and its impact on the population. The
work provides a vivid account as to the amount of suffering and disorder consuming the Athenians
during the second year of the Peloponnesian war. Furthermore, Thucydideswrote the piece in hopes
of broadening the scope of current events at the time which affected the citizens. Additionally, he
sought to inform future generations of the plague so that they could recognize it or conduct further
studies should it make an appearance again. From this translation, Thucydides demonstrates a
notable interest and most importantly provides sufficient detail in presenting the symptoms he
observed or experienced himself through this plague. However, while the detailed account appears
thorough at a first glance, I would consider this a subjective and an inadequate testimony of the
Athens plague with some loose ends.
According to this work, Thucydides wrote a few statements that he possibly acquired from
unknown sources. For instance, Thucydides wrote, it was said that it had broken out in many
places , which begs the simple question who said? In another instance, he wrote it first began, it is
said, in the parts of Ethiopia above Egypt . From this statement, what stands out again is who said.

A common theme found in all three disorders is the development of negative cognition, emotions,
and schemas. Negative schemas are a key role in GAD because it focuses on how an individual
interprets and organizes the world. An individual s cognitive interpretation provides an explanation
why anxiety is evoked. In PTSD, a person s negative emotions and dysfunctional thoughts about
themselves or their environment are more likely to have PTSD. Individuals diagnosis with MDD
tends to have negative thoughts due to their interpretation about themselves and their surrounding
which can result in the feeling of worthlessness. An individual s cognition interpretations affect
their overall emotion. Another common theme that GAD, PTSD, and MDD share is rumination.
All these three disorders use rumination to cope with stressful situations. Although the disorders
shared similarities, there are several differences in between them. In GAD, individuals tend to have
a lower threshold for uncertainty and worry about worrying. These individuals have a misguided
belief that worry is an effective method to face their problem or prevent any negative consequences
from occurring. On the other hand, the severity of trauma and interpersonal trauma contribute to
the psychological factors that affect PTSD. Individuals may overestimate the probability of the
trauma occurring therefore, they react more intensely to it. In MDD, inadequate/ insufficient

Boston s ability to draft and trade in the past decade has been top tier in the NBA, getting young

Physical and defensive role players such as Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart are each earning a

Angiogenic Pathogenesis
The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged
inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for
cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of
CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular
resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing
portal and central venules. In addition, the formation of fibrotic septa, as well as sinusoidal
capillarisation, can result in an increased resistance to bloodflow and oxygen delivery. This results
in hypoxia and the transcription of hypoxia sensitive pro angiogenic... Show more content on

The characteristic fenestrated phenotype of the sinusoidal ECs is lost and an organised basement
membrane is established, which leads to an impairment of oxygen diffusion even though the
increased arterial flow provides a high supply of oxygenated blood . The deposition of collagen in
the space of Disse accentuates the narrowing and distortion of the sinusoidal lumen, further
restricting microvascular blood flow. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped
in the narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic
microvascular inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF,
Ang and their receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also
stimulating activation and migration of HSC. As stated previously, activated HSCs induce an
inflammatory response and enhance angiogenesis. New vessels themselves can significantly
contribute to the perpetuation of the inflammatory response by expressing chemokines and
adhesion molecules promoting the recruitment of inflammatory cells. Furthermore, angiogenesis,
early in the course of a CLD, may contribute to the transition from acute to chronic

Challenges of Leadership
Leadership Book Analysis
Modern World Leaders Angela Merkel
The person chosen for this leadership report is Angela Merkel. I read Modern World Leaders
Angela Merkel written by Clifford W. Mills. Being born in Berlin, with my pride in being
German, as well as being a female with my own leadership ambitions, I felt Angela Merkel was a
perfect fit for me. Gaining knowledge on the leadership style from one of the most powerful and
influential women in the world, while also learning the values and beliefs my country is grounded
on, I find Angela Merkel to be extremely interesting leader to study. Angela Merkel (born Angela
Dorothea Kasner), was born in Hamburg, Germany on July 17, 1954. Angela ... Show more content

In Germany teachers quiet strict and at one point she had a teacher that would punish the entire
class if a presentation differed even slightly from what the teacher told them to do. Deep down
inside Merkel knew that the students put in extreme effort into the presentations and that this
matter was so serious that the students could all be expelled from school. After explaining the
situation to her parents, Merkel wrote a petition which she also presented to some GDR
officials. Merkels class was saved; the teacher was later disciplined. I characterize her leadership
style as one that is based on ethics and morals while also being very direct. She is both task
oriented as well as relationship oriented. Merkel focuses on the business task at hand while putting
great emphasis relationships and networking... I don t think it make sense to go round and round
in circles arguing about this crisis. We have to manage it instead. But that s something we can only
do together with our neighbors, our partners, the big ones and the small ones. I think Germany is
destined, partly as a result of its geographic position, to be a mediator and balancing factor.
From this statement I feel as though Merkel is very direct and to the point there is no point in
arguing, let s do something about it. At the same time Merkel puts emphasis on leader member
relations. Previous chancellor Schroeder was known for his extravagant sleigh rides with

Tax Implications of E-Commerce in Nigeria
ABSTRACT
This paper examines the Tax Implications of E Commerce. The issue of e commerce and its tax
implications continues to receive a high level of attention because of the fast growth of e commerce
activities. In the emerging global economy, e commerce has increasingly become a necessary
component of business strategy and a strong catalyst for economic development. The integration of
information and communications technology (ICT) in business has revolutionized relationships
within organizations and those between and among organizations and individuals. Specifically, the
use of ICT in business has enhanced productivity, encouraged greater customer participation, and
enabled mass customization, besides reducing costs. Even before the ... Show more content on

Countries might differ over where the presence of a facility, the location of customers, the passage
of title or a number of other factors determines where the income arises. E Commerce facilitates
cross border transactions and as a mechanism has particular relevance to international taxation.
Consequently according to Li, Jinyan(2003) while e commerce might not introduce any new
problems, it is apparent that any problem already associated with an inability to synchronize or
inter relate a variety of disparate taxing systems became exacerbated by a model that facilitates the
very types of transactions that result in such problems in the first instance.
A fundamental change in existing tax rules does not appear to be requisite. However internet and e
commerce has increased the need for efficient and equitable tax treatments of firms operating in
multiple tax jurisdictions. Current procedure used by most countries to allocate the tax base
between jurisdictions and to avoid double taxation through a network of more than 1,500 bilateral
double taxation treaties, is not only cumbersome, but will also come under increasing pressure as
the scope and volume of cross border activities expand sharply. This is because the double taxation
treaties are based on the assumption of national sovereignty in tax policy, which will become less
relevant as globalization progresses. Most discussions with respect to

Saturn Research Project
Our lab assignment this week was to research the Cassini/Huygens mission currently being
conducted by NASA and the European Space Agency. After learning about the mission, we need to
list some of the information it has provided us. As well as discuss what we have learned about
Saturn, its rings and the moonsystem. Choose at least one picture and explain it. Although, Saturn
has always been my favorite planet, I didn t know much about this mission. The lab proved fun and
interesting to learn about all the many discoveries of Saturn.
NASA launched the Cassini Huygens mission on October 15, 1997. Cassini was sent to explore the
system of the planet Saturn. With help from Venus, Earth and Jupiter, Cassini made a series of

They used radar/microwave radiometer aboard NASA s Cassini spacecraft, which revealed a
turbulent atmosphere that has many similarities with Jupiter than previously realized. The new
observations reveal a calm and narrow equatorial belt surrounded by stormy bands just like on

Recently generated global microwave maps of Saturn exposed detail of a mostly stable atmospheric
environment. There were some unpredicted diversity, including arid, desert like patches in Saturn s
atmosphere.

How Leadership Styles Affect Productivity By E. Brown There are 4 primary leadership styles,
many of which you can find within most businesses or organizations around the world. These styles
are: Dictatorial, Authoritative, Consultative, and Participative. Each of the leadership styles have
impact on reforming and/or creating company culture. There are short and long term affects of
each style. For instance, the authoritative style may produce great results in a short amount of time.
However, excessive use of authority will decrease productivity in the long term. People either get
fed up and leave or fall into a malaise of hum drum repetitive tasks without creativity and
innovation. All the while, a participative style will be unproductive... Show more content on

You dont have any control over outside influences. You are going to face the implementation of
an unpopular change in the norm. Somebody is going to dictate a new policy or procedure.
While you cant control the outside influence you can control your units interpretation of it.
Minor changes are fairly simply. Introduce the new policy or procedure, provide your employees
with as much background on why the change is necessary, train them and then follow up with
praise or sanction. Larger or dramatic changes are more difficult. As with smaller changes to the
norm, you must first seek clarity. Find out as much as you can why the change is necessary.
Make sure you know as much as possible. I am always honest with my people. When I dont like
something or think a change is going to be difficult I admit it. As a follower, I have sat through
too many gratuitous roll calls where the sergeant or lieutenant is giving us happy talk. I
recommend you say something like, I dont like this anymore than you do. But, this is how we are
going to do it. This admission is actually an emphasis of the norm of obedience to orders and the
value of you place on it. After you have made this admission, adopt the new norm and place the
appropriate value on it. Dont undermine yourself or your organization by rolling your eyes or
somehow expressing that you dont believe the new change should be implemented. As with the
minor change,

Legends Of Tomorrow Research Papers
If you haven t tuned in to DC s Legends of Tomorrow just yet, you ll be in for a surprise:
Firestorm is back in the form of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax Jackson, who is played by
Attack the Block star Franz Drameh. The British actor is officially taking over half of Firestorm
after the death of Ronnie Raymond (Rob Amell), and he has just admitted that he initially
geeked out when he found out which character he was auditioning for! Drameh recently spoke to
Comic Book Resources about Legends of Tomorrow, where he admitted his love for comic books
and the secret name for the character he was reading for. I ve been a comic book fan my whole life,
so when I was auditioning, the character breakdown they gave me was Mystery Hero Michael.
So I was like, okay, Drameh shared, adding that the truth about the character dawned upon him
while reading the lines. So I had a bit of a read of it, and I was like: Stein this is Firestorm! But
there s already a Firestorm! How is this going to work? So I kind knew early on that s who I was
playing, he said.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drameh also admitted that the discovery made him wonder what could happen in the show. I
was just so excited, he said. I was like, Are they going to do this? Is he going to have

to be a part of the whole DC Universe. DC s Legends of Tomorrow also stars Brandon Routh,
Caity Lotz, Arthur Darvill, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Ciara Renee, Falk Hentschel and
Casper Crump as the evil Vandal Savage. The show is currently airing on The CW every Thursday

Correlation of Wood Type and Surface Coatings with the...
Wood is a porous material because of its cellular structure which allows for many internal voids
(Eckelman). The plant cells located within wood are made to absorb water, as it is necessary for
the functionality of the tree ( Wood and Water , 2006). When wood first absorbs water, the water
is transported and held within the cell walls. However, as these walls cannot hold a large amount
of water, additional water fills the cavities of tubular cells within fibers of the wood. Wood is also
categorized as a hygroscopic material. This allows for wood to naturally absorb and dissipate water
within its contiguous environment. Density and water diffusivity of the wood affect the rate of
absorption of water in wood (Noorolahi, Khazaei, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Latex paint is a formulated polyvinyl material with an acrylic resin. Oil based stain is highly
effective in repelling water as oil is hydrophobic (Dasch, 2003). A previous study by Sivertsen
concluded that untreated, low density wood absorbed more water than high density wood. Their
results also showed that, with a waterborne topcoat and no primer, the higher density wood sample
absorbed more water (Sivertsen). However, this experiment was done using softwoods, and
therefore the results may differ for hardwoods.
This experiment was an observational study of the correlation of wood species and surface
coatings to the water absorption of wood. I took data on the amount of water absorbed by red
oak, red maple, aspen, and balsam poplar wood of the same volume, but with varying surface
coatings. My control group was left untreated, leaving the wood in its natural state. The four
samples of wood in the other two groups were painted with latex paint and oil based stain
respectively. The twelve total samples were then placed into buckets filled with water. At the end
of seven days, the amount of water absorbed by wood was determined by measuring the amount
of water remaining in the buckets. My hypothesis was that the species of wood and surface
coatings do influence the amount of water absorbed by the wood. I believed that the surface
coatings applied to the wood would aid in preventing a greater amount of water absorbed than in
the wood s natural state, and that

Summary Of The Yellow Wall-Paper
To be effective means to be successful in producing a desired or intended result. According to
Aristotle, the most effective way to construct the plot of a story is to have a clear beginning,
middle, and end with certain aspects included between each major part to form a complex plot. In
the short story The Yellow Wall Paper , the author, Charlotte Perkins Gilman
, follows Aristotle s
schema for constructing an effective plot by drawing the readers emotionally to the characters;
including reversal, recognition, and suffering; and having a complex plot. Charlotte Perkins
Gilman emotionally draws readers to the characters in The Yellow Wall Paper. The unnamed
protagonist of the story persuades readers to pity and empathize with her from the beginning of
the story when she talks about her husband/physician, John, and her depression. She talks about
how John is helping her by putting her on rest cure and keeping her locked in a room with no
stimulation from the outside world when she says, I get unreasonably angry with John
sometimes. I m not sure I never used to be so sensitive. I think it is due to this nervous condition
(Gilman 315). When she describes her husband and blames her sensitivity on her condition, it is
hard to read because everyone else can see that she should be angry with John and he is the main
reason that she is in the mental state that she is in. What she characterized as help from her
husband is clearly seen by the audience as harmful and

aspects of Treadwell s personality Herzog works to complicate and at times undermine Treadwell

juxtaposition between interviews with professionals and Tredwells personal footage for instance

own vision of a chaotic nature. In a typical narrative art the death of protagonist generally comes at
the climax but because Herzog reveals that Treadwell was eaten by the very same bears he sought to

The 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic
The 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic was a deathly virus that made its way to every across the globe
by 1919, leaving a devastating affect on the world s population and leaving many questioning any
previous faith in religion and modern science. This essay will explore the global affect of the
Spanish Flu Epidemic with special reference to its impact on South African society.
Victims of the Spanish flu epidemic suffered from an acute infection in the respiratory system. The
virus itself takes its form in droplets exposed to the air, which could then be transferred from person
to person with ease. Droplets were emitted into the air by an infected person, which could then
infect others who breathed in these droplets. Urbanization, increased travel and the unfortunate late

looming threat over humanity.
The first wave of the Spanish flu epidemic was marked by mild symptoms that shared a
familiarity with the common flu, such as headaches, fevers and an overall weakness. The second
wave of the Spanish flu epidemic brought enhanced and horrifying symptoms. Those who fell ill
with the Spanish flu suffered from labored breathing, vomiting and nausea, bleeding from the nose

Cats Make the Perfect Pet

Essay #4
Cats make the perfect pet I have heard the old saying that dogs are man s best friend. I don t
know much about dogs, but I do know a lot about cats. I have had a cat as a pet for at least 30
years. They are wonderful and I know I will always have one in my life. I think cats make the
perfect pet because they are self sufficient, intelligent, and good companions. The first reason I
think that cats make the perfect pet is because they are self sufficient. Cats can take care of
themselves. When we take cats into our homes as pets, they don t require much attention. Another
good example of why cats are self sufficient is because they are clean animals and they bathe
themselves quite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cats also make good companions because they like to curl up next to us for a good long nap, and
there is no better sleeping partner than a cat. Cats don t care what we look like, they don t expect
anything in return, and they will always keep our feet warm! Another example of why a cat
makes a good companion is because at the end of the day they will not come running up to us at
the door and lick us to death like a dog. They are just glad to see us. A meow and a flip of the tail is
all that is needed to say hello. One more reason cats make good companions is because they can
live long lives. If they are taken care of properly it is not uncommon for them to live into their
teens or twenties. Also cats are good companions because they are soft and cuddly and easy to
love. When looking for a good companion, a cat will make a wonderful choice and a lifelong
friend. My love for cats goes back a long time. In a few years I will probably become the crazy cat
lady. Cats are independent and self sufficient. They are very intelligent animals and they make good
companions. I think these things make the cat a perfect

Effects Of Sleep Walking And Night Walking
Abstract
One of the most frightening sleep occurrences to a family is when a family member is having a
night terror, or sleep walking. It s difficult to understand how someone could have their eyes open,
walking, and talking but not really being awake. For the person that has the sleeping issue, they
have no memory of the occurrence. However, observing a person going through one of these
episodes makes it appear that the person is witnessing pure horror, not to mention the confusion if
they happen to wake up. This paper will explore the psychophysiological aspects of parasomnia
with a focus on night terrors and sleep walking. Including psychological aspects that pertain to
the mind, and the physiological aspects that pertain to the living system of sleepwalking and
night terrors. The paper will also examine an actual current case of a 4 year old that currently has
night terrors, and an 18 year old young adult that sleep walks almost nightly. Finally, the paper will
conclude with current treatments for both night terrors and sleeping walking when the person
doesn t just grow out of the sleep disturbance. Taking a closer look into parasomnias, will offer
more clarity in understanding how important good quality sleep is to all people of all ages.
Keywords: Slow Wave Sleep, REM Sleep, Memory, Learning, Sleep Deprivation, Parasomnia,
Night Terrors, and Sleep Walking
Sleep Disorders: Night Terrors and Sleepwalking
The one human need that all organisms require is sleep. The body will eventually shut down to get
rest because it requires sleep to function properly. Adequate sleep is what keeps our learning and
memory on point. Sleep deprived people can t focus their attention to its full potential, because there
is a lack in a basic human need. Studies done on both animals and humans suggest that the quantity
and quality of sleep have a profound impact on learning and memory. According to the article, In the
study, findings suggest that sleep disturbances can be detected using both subjective and objective
measures and that, for these individuals, fluctuations in sleep duration may have real consequences
for daytime anxiety (Mullin et al., 2017). When sleep lacks the other areas fall short. Good

With the perfection of these steps you will be able to drive the vehicle smoothly and efficiently. The equipment that will be needed for this process is usually the same for every vehicle. At a minimum, you will need an open lot, a hill near by, and a manual transmissionvehicle. Once you get the necessary equipment, it is time to get in the driver s seat of the vehicle. When the clutch is out, give the vehicle gas and continue to keep driving. Continue to watch the RPM gauge is second gear as well. When it gets back up to 3000 3500 it is time to shift gears again. Push the clutch all the way down, and move the gear lever into neutral and straight up. This will put you into the third gear. • 4. Examples Of Hyperbole In Romeo And Juliet Mokokoma Mokhonoana once said, Love songs are nothing without exaggeration . Even though Romeo and Juliet is not a love song, their love story is not the same without hyperbole. Hyperbolic citations help to develop character because it quickly shows what characters are like based on the things they say and do. In Romeo and Juliet, characters develop immensely throughout the play due to hyperbole because of how it showcases the characters emotions and actions. Both Romeo and Juliet s characters use hyperbole frequently and without it, their lovewould not be the same. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After kissing Romeo for the first time, Juliet refers to Romeo as a saint, For saints have hands that pilgrims hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers kiss (I.V.99). By using a hyperbole like that, Juliet is demonstrating how immature she is, because of how passionate she considers their love to be in only a few minutes. Within the day of meeting Romeo, Juliet is already saying that [her] bounty is as boundless as the sea, [her] love as deep [and] the more [she] give[s] to thee, the more [she has] for both are infinite (II.II.133 135). A hyperbole as dramatic as what Juliet describes her love for Romeo to be, explains how passionate and dramatic Juliet is when it comes to her love for Romeo, making Juliet s character immature and dramatic. It does so because she has only known him for a day and she is already saying that her love for Romeo is infinite, whereas if she was more mature she may want to take her time and get to know him first. Also, with knowing Romeo for less than a day Juliet asks [Romeo to] propose marriage (II.II.144) and she says that she would follow [him], [her] lord throughout the world (II.II.148) once again proving how dramatic and immature Juliet is. Examples Of Female Oppression In The Yellow Wallpaper Female Oppression in The Yellow Wallpaper Charlotte Perkins Gillman s The Yellow Wallpaper approaches some often overlooked topics in literature including how men and women interact differently when it comes to serious situations such as how to help someone who is greatly suffering from a mental affliction. The narrator of the text is Jane, and her husband John is incidentally making her mental illness worse while he is in fact trying to help her get better. John is not a bad person. He truly loves his wife and believes he is helping her. He is a doctor so it is understandable that he would dismiss his wife s opinions and do what he assumes is best for her. And I ve pulled off most of the paper, so you can t put me back! (86). At this point John fainted and Jane had to creep over him (86). John becomes exactly what he is trying to prevent his wife from coming. He viewed Jane s femininity as a weakness and tried to do everything in his power to make sure she was rested and did not push herself too hard. Yet, John was the one who fainted, which is usually considered a predominantly feminine trait. His fainting demonstrates the fragility of masculinity. John ends up representing his own hidden femininity when he faints. It is often considered the job of the man of the family to be strong and to protect the weaker sex. John s fainting ends up proving that both men and women can experience high levels of distress when something serious happens. John treats Jane like she is fragile and breakable, but it seems like he is just as fragile and breakable, if not more so. Even though John ignores Jane when she tells him what she thinks would be better for herself John is also denying himself the ability to show compassion to his struggling wife. By treating his wife like she is unable to acknowledge her own needs John becomes shocked when Jane descends into madness. If he had only listened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also following conventions, my artist s names are much larger than any additional information underneath. Additionally, my all important cover story is shown in the largest font on the page other that the masthead. This immediately grabs the audience s attention and encourages them to find out more. Another feature of my front page that aims to attract attention is a competition, the sticker with Win inside demands attention without being too obvious as to what the competition involves, this encourages the audience to read inside. This is conventional in all music magazines as a way of attracting more potential customers towards the magazine. Conventionally, although selling the magazine, the front cover doesn t give away too much about the content of the magazine. The queries targeting one hundred (100) records represent bulk operations like the jobs running at the end of day operations. For main memory performance benchmarking, Stream benchmark algorithm is used. This algorithm measures the sustainable real world bandwidth as real users faced, not the theoretical peak values. It is a widely known and applied algorithm in memory bandwidth performance tests [27]. The Stream algorithm is also a synthetic benchmark which creates synthetic workloads, not the real world workloads. The benchmark measures the bandwidth performance by four long vector / matrix operations, like copy , scale , add , and triad (combination of other three). The algorithm assigns one of the arrays to another in order to measure the copy operation time and bandwidth. For scale operation, it multiplies the elements of an array by a scalar value. In add operation, it adds the elements of an array to the elements of another array and assigns the results to a third array. Triad does the calculations of the three operations all together (copy, scale, and add). In our evaluations, we have used the average of the results for these four ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Focusing now on these new religious ideals and practices has provided many different suggestions towards spirituality: Spirituality is personal, unique, self validating, authentic, and authoritative, whereas religionis institutional, bureaucratic, social, inflexible hierarchical, and authoritarian (Anderson and Young 295). Many of these new practices involve women, healing methods, and alternative divine figures. Overall, it is a common theme from many of these spiritual practices to not have a set textual religious book such as a Bible or Torah. In specific, with the Wiccan women: Wiccans are cautious about their relationships with others and especially cognizant of their relationship with the earth (Anderson and Young 307). Along with this, they believe: What you do, whether for good or for ill, returns to you (Anderson and Young 307). This practice is stemmed from their Rule of Three. This rule is generalized as: being careful for the things we wish for in life, as well as how actions can create consequences. These consequences in large can create a chain reaction in consequences broadly on the world. Along with this, magic or magick is an important aspect of Wiccans: Magic usually refers to the ability to affect the outcomes of events through communal or individual thought and ritual action (Anderson and Young 309). In correlation to the magic aspect of the Wiccan spirituality, many members call themselves witches. With this title, many cast spells and use the magic to work through the conscience of members. However this specific practice of spell work is not required. As many people believe magic to be a sinister act or something out of a fictional story, that speculation can be reflected on to this Wiccan act: Magic is usually contrasted with religion: magic is seen as a way of manipulating the universe by using specific spells, whereas religion does not use the universe as ultimately manipulable in this way (Anderson and Young 309). However the Wiccan s loophole to this statement refers to the fact that their magic is less about manipulation and more about using the power to evoke positive changes to the world. This magical practice gives rise and support to the enchanted world they believe to live in rather than the cold world. Diving deeper into this spiritual practice brought some confusion and questionability to mind. Although I believe there could be many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Immanuel Kant On Good Will Analysis Immanuel Kant writes about good will and according to him, good will is very objective. He states that the only thing that is undoubtedly good in the world is the good will itself. Other qualities like wealth, intelligence and bravery, for example, are characteristics in a person that can be used for good or evil. Good will, on the other hand, is unquestionably good because even though it might not bring positive results at all times, the good will in itself was always there and that person was driven by good and pure motivations all along regardless if the end result was good or not. In addition, monetary compensation for a good action would not make a good action pure because that person was motivated by external elements instead of his or her own good will. Furthermore, as human beings we possess obligations of good will and these obligations are called duties . For example, all people should help somebody... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Regardless of what the final result might be, good will should always have the intention to do good without any external factors influencing the person to do a good deed. When it comes to defining good will , Kant seems to be taking an approach very similar to the one found in the Bible, so in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew, 7:12) At the end of the day, the intended purpose of these teachings, is to help us live a better and more fulfilling lifestyle by helping those in need and understand why we do these actions. When Ms. Smith proves that building management has to properly maintain locker premises and provide a decent security, she can move to the second step. She has to prove that the defendant breached the standard of care. Since Mr. Johnson didn t provide enough security to the locker and acted less carefully, the standard of care was breached. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A common theme found in all three disorders is the development of negative cognition, emotions, and schemas. Negative schemas are a key role in GAD because it focuses on how an individual interprets and organizes the world. An individual s cognitive interpretation provides an explanation why anxiety is evoked. In PTSD, a person s negative emotions and dysfunctional thoughts about themselves or their environment are more likely to have PTSD. Individuals diagnosis with MDD tends to have negative thoughts due to their interpretation about themselves and their surrounding which can result in the feeling of worthlessness. An individual s cognition interpretations affect their overall emotion. Another common theme that GAD, PTSD, and MDD share is rumination. All these three disorders use rumination to cope with stressful situations. Although the disorders shared similarities, there are several differences in between them. In GAD, individuals tend to have a lower threshold for uncertainty and worry about worrying. These individuals have a misguided belief that worry is an effective method to face their problem or prevent any negative consequences from occurring. On the other hand, the severity of trauma and interpersonal trauma contribute to the psychological factors that affect PTSD. Individuals may overestimate the probability of the trauma occurring therefore, they react more intensely to it. In MDD, inadequate/ insufficient reinforcers and learned helplessness/ attributional styles distress an individual. Boston s current contract situation should provide more success in the future. Two superstars, veterans, and young talent make them one of the most concrete organizations in the league, not to mention their foundation is laid for a few more years. The Celtics player contracts are led by Gordan Hayward, who signed a 4 year max contract in the 2017 offseason. He suffered a tragic left ankle fracture in the season opener debut with the Celtics, forcing him to miss the 2017 2018 season. This was an unavoidable financial downfall, but with more years on the contract they still have opportunities with Hayward in the future. Breakout talent Terry Rozier will be going into free agency in the 2018 2019 off season, potentially leaving the Celtics if they cannot pay the expected high dollar amount to sign Rozier again. • 40. Angiogenic Pathogenesis The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing portal and central venules. In addition, the formation of fibrotic septa, as well as sinusoidal capillarisation, can result in an increased resistance to bloodflow and oxygen delivery. This results in hypoxia and the transcription of hypoxia sensitive pro angiogenic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The characteristic fenestrated phenotype of the sinusoidal ECs is lost and an organised basement membrane is established, which leads to an impairment of oxygen diffusion even though the increased arterial flow provides a high supply of oxygenated blood . The deposition of collagen in the space of Disse accentuates the narrowing and distortion of the sinusoidal lumen, further restricting microvascular blood flow. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped in the narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic microvascular inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF, Ang and their receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also stimulating activation and migration of HSC. As stated previously, activated HSCs induce an inflammatory response and enhance angiogenesis. New vessels themselves can significantly contribute to the perpetuation of the inflammatory response by expressing chemokines and adhesion molecules promoting the recruitment of inflammatory cells. The issue of e commerce and its tax implications continues to receive a high level of attention because of the fast growth of e commerce activities. In the emerging global economy, e commerce has increasingly become a necessary component of business strategy and a strong catalyst for economic development. Countries might differ over where the presence of a facility, the location of customers, the passage of title or a number of other factors determines where the income arises. E Commerce facilitates cross border transactions and as a mechanism has particular relevance to international taxation. Consequently according to Li, Jinyan(2003) while e commerce might not introduce any new problems, it is apparent that any problem already associated with an inability to synchronize or inter relate a variety of disparate taxing systems became exacerbated by a model that facilitates the very types of transactions that result in such problems in the first instance. A fundamental change in existing tax rules does not appear to be requisite. However internet and e commerce has increased the need for efficient and equitable tax treatments of firms operating in multiple tax jurisdictions. Current procedure used by most countries to allocate the tax base between jurisdictions and to avoid double taxation through a network of more than 1,500 bilateral double taxation treaties, is not only cumbersome, but will also come under increasing pressure as the scope and volume of cross border activities expand sharply. This is because the double taxation treaties are based on the assumption of national sovereignty in tax policy, which will become less relevant as globalization progresses. • 47. Correlation of Wood Type and Surface Coatings with the... Wood is a porous material because of its cellular structure which allows for many internal voids (Eckelman). The plant cells located within wood are made to absorb water, as it is necessary for the functionality of the tree ( Wood and Water , 2006). When wood first absorbs water, the water is transported and held within the cell walls. However, as these walls cannot hold a large amount of water, additional water fills the cavities of tubular cells within fibers of the wood. Wood is also categorized as a hygroscopic material. This allows for wood to naturally absorb and dissipate water within its contiguous environment. Density and water diffusivity of the wood affect the rate of absorption of water in wood (Noorolahi, Khazaei, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Latex paint is a formulated polyvinyl material with an acrylic resin. Oil based stain is highly effective in repelling water as oil is hydrophobic (Dasch, 2003). A previous study by Sivertsen concluded that untreated, low density wood absorbed more water than high density wood. Their results also showed that, with a waterborne topcoat and no primer, the higher density wood sample absorbed more water (Sivertsen). However, this experiment was done using softwoods, and therefore the results may differ for hardwoods. This experiment was an observational study of the correlation of wood species and surface coatings to the water absorption of wood. I took data on the amount of water absorbed by red oak, red maple, aspen, and balsam poplar wood of the same volume, but with varying surface coatings. My control group was left untreated, leaving the wood in its natural state. The four samples of wood in the other two groups were painted with latex paint and oil based stain respectively. The twelve total samples were then placed into buckets filled with water. At the end of seven days, the amount of water absorbed by wood was determined by measuring the amount of water remaining in the buckets. My hypothesis was that the species of wood and surface coatings do influence the amount of water absorbed by the wood. I believed that the surface coatings applied to the wood would aid in preventing a greater amount of water absorbed than in the wood s natural state, and that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Aristotle, the most effective way to construct the plot of a story is to have a clear beginning, middle, and end with certain aspects included between each major part to form a complex plot. In the short story The Yellow Wall Paper , the author, Charlotte Perkins Gilman , follows Aristotle s schema for constructing an effective plot by drawing the readers emotionally to the characters; including reversal, recognition, and suffering; and having a complex plot. Charlotte Perkins Gilman emotionally draws readers to the characters in The Yellow Wall Paper. The unnamed protagonist of the story persuades readers to pity and empathize with her from the beginning of the story when she talks about her husband/physician, John, and her depression. She talks about how John is helping her by putting her on rest cure and keeping her locked in a room with no stimulation from the outside world when she says, I get unreasonably angry with John sometimes. I m not sure I never used to be so sensitive. I think it is due to this nervous condition (Gilman 315). When she describes her husband and blames her sensitivity on her condition, it is hard to read because everyone else can see that she should be angry with John and he is the main reason that she is in the mental state that she is in.
