How The Distribution Systems Used And Make Recommendations...
In this assignment I am going to evaluate the distribution systems in delivering goods and services for
one of the well known food sector business and that is ASDA. I am going to look at both the positive
and the negative aspects of the distribution systems used and make recommendations for improvement
with justified reasons Asda gets its products straight from the manufacturers and then sells them
directly to the customers they don t need to involve a third party in this process and they always get
stock direct. They reason that ASDA are able to get the products straight from the suppliers is because
they are one of the largest supermarkets in the UK, and therefore can provide suppliers with a lot of
business, ASDA also have suppliers who only work for them to create the own brand label i.e. George.
This can work against the suppliers as if they begin to rely on the ASDA orders then it can be easy for
ASDA to renegotiate the terms in their favour. 1. Food, Household, Health Beauty This area covers off
the key FMCG core of the business. 2. General Merchandise non food range 3. Clothing ASDA
George clothing business is one of the largest clothing retailers in the UK by volume this area is
ASDAs own brand the George supply chain the companies that manufacture garments on ASDA s
behalf stretches across 19 countries, using around 600 primary, product making factories, with two
thirds of our production coming from China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Turkey and India.

Tycho Brahe s Accomplishments
Imagine lying in the grass, looking up into the stars, and wondering, what is happening up there?
Tycho Brahe s curiosity of the stars sparked his career of becoming an astronomer. He had been
fascinated by the universe and had studied it as a hobby, but it was not until later in life did it become
his career. Tycho Brahe was a passionate astronomer who contributed to the Renaissance through his
discoveries of the universe. Tycho s studies as a scientist led to his accomplishments and his lasting
impact on astronomy.
Tycho Brahe s experiences at college inspired him to defy his uncle and become an astronomer. At a
young age, Tycho was sent to the University of Copenhagen to become an attorney to follow the
Brahe family tradition. But it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brahe portrayed the humanist ideal observation by revising previous theories and scientific tools
throughout his career. Three discoveries attributed to Tycho Brahe include how the earth s position is
viewed in the universe, mapping of celestial bodies, and his creation of accurate scientific instruments.
Before the Renaissance, many scientists believed in the geocentric theory, or the belief that the earth
was the center of the universe, and the sun, planets, and other stars revolved around earth. Tycho
proved that the path of the comet of 1577 was not circular, but elongated, meaning that it would be
impossible according to the geocentric theory. This discovery influenced the ways scientists viewed
the location of planets and stars. Tycho viewed and observed a new star in the constellation Cassiopeia
that lay beyond the moon and was in the realm of fixed stars. This discovery of the new star
influenced the way scientists mapped all celestial bodies. Brahe was one of the first astronomers to
realize the importance of error of instrumentation. He believed that some of the errors in the
astronomical works of famous Renaissance astronomers were due to poor instrumentation. He was
able to develop new instruments to plot his research that were massive improvements on the previous
tables and tools used. His designs for new methods and instruments won him great fame. These
discoveries continue to influence the way scientists view the universe

Cultural Differences Between Hofstede s Six Dimensions
Cultural Differences in Hofstede s Six Dimensions
In a global economy, the way employees interact within the workplace is critical to the way that
business is conducted and is ultimately successful. Leaders and managers who interact within the
global setting need to understand differences between each person s culture, regardless of whether or
not the interaction is amongst employees or clients. These differences can include mannerisms or
methods of etiquette that may seem strange or unique to those from a different cultural setting. Other
differences might include the way that organizations in different nations may or may not be willing to
do business or work with other groups based on race, gender, ethnicity, sex, or religion. With a utility
such as Geert Hofstede s Six Dimensions, one can gain insight into the differences between countries
the world over regarding these cultural differences (Hofstede).
Hofstede s Six Dimensions Geert Hofstede is a famous social scientist that was born in Haarlem,
Netherlands in 1928 (Hofstede, 2015). He has over 240 major publications addressing the different
dimensions related to leadership and management within the context of diverse national cultures
(Hofstede). His work has allowed individuals to do their own research regarding the cultural
infrastructure of other nations outside of their own. The six dimensions that Hofstede uses to analyze
these differences are known as; power distance, individualism, masculinity,

Analysis Of Countess Elizabeth s Lady Dracula
Countess Elizabeth Lady Dracula Bathory de Ecsed was born on August 7, 1560 in Transylvania,
Romania to George Bathory and Anna Bathory. She was born to a very wealthy family that contained
powerful people such as cardinals, princes, kings, and prime ministers which gave her the privilege of
living in the family castle, Esced. Through her childhood, she was very educated; she was able to learn
a few languages such as greek, latin, hungarian, and German. Although she was highly educated, she
was also taught false acts by her uncles and aunts. Her uncle taught her acts of satanism and her aunt
taught her about sadomasochism, which is giving or receiving pleasure from acts involving infliction
of pain. This possibly caused her problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He forgave her though when he returned home. One day, while Elizabeth was getting ready for the
homecoming of her husband, her maid had saw that something was wrong with her dress. As the maid
went to fix it, Elizabeth hit her with a brush so hard that blood was taken from the maid. As Elizabeth
went to clean off the blood from her body, she noticed the pleasing effects that the blood had on her
body. She believed that the blood made her skin look younger and more vibrant. In 1604, Ferencz died
from unknown causes but when he did die, Ferencz mother took Elizabeth s four kids which caused
Elizabeth to try to banish her mother in law from the country.
Ferencz death caused Elizabeth to torture and kill people more. Most of Bathory s victims were young
daughters of the local peasants. Many of them were lured into Elizabeth s castle after she offered to
pay them to work as maids/servant. She would then begin to torture them. She had many ways to do
this such as an iron maiden, which was a coffin with spikes in it. The spike would cause significant
bleeding and cause blindness due to the stabbing in the eyes. The victims would later bleed to death.
She also had a cylindrical cage. This cage contained spikes and it was too small to sit or stand in. The
cage was then raised and rocked which would stab the victim causing them to die. She would also
raise a cage, poke the victims with a hot poker and stab them. She would lay under the cage

Ethics Issues
Law enforcement men and women put their lives on the line to serve and protect the communities that
they live in but it is when one or two of those make a bad decision that can quickly change the
perspective of society. This perspective of trust, respect, safety and integrity can be changed in a short
time by a few unethical choices and to rebuild that perspective can take many years. This is a sad
world that we live in when we cannot trust the people that have sworn to serve and protect our
communities to make the right decisions when it comes to their duties.

The whole ordeal was caught on video by other detectives that were investing human trafficking

appear to be nothing out of the ordinary these days for police departments across the country, all of
this are very inappropriate and all different forms of misconduct unethical to say the least. The officers
of time past were respectful and treated people the way that they should fair, innocent until proven
guilty and there were not as many officers that were being called out for misconduct. This is partly
due to the swing in society but also the capabilities of cell phones, on board cameras and the ability to
share just as quick as you can record, technology surely has not been friendly to the police in America.
The technology meant to protect the police is now their downfall because of their heinous actions, that
are less than ethical but also less than human.

Medieval Manor Pros And Cons
A medieval manor was a large agricultural estate that was made up of various types of farming lands,
a village where the current manor tenants would live, and a manor house where the lord who owns or
controls the estate lives. It was typically the wealthy who owned or had control over any of the
manors. Most manors were built of natural stone and were built to last. Their size usually illustrated
the owner s wealth.
During the 16th century, medieval manors were built by lords and ranged in size from 1,200 1,800
acres and were primarily used for agricultural purposes. There were a wide variety of people who
resided inside a medieval manor. The manor s lord acted as a direct line of communication to the
King. The vassal or liege , was known

Geothermal Energy Is Heat Energy Coming From The Earth
1. Introduction
Geothermal energy is heat energy coming from the Earth. Geothermal energy is relatively cost
effective, reliable, and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some specific areas. Recent
technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal energy resources.
Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating, which add use
potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas pollution which
are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than those of fossil fuels.
Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to reduce air pollution and
greenhouse gas emissions of the earth.
California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy,
which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. According to EIA [1], the
monthly average consumption per person is 557kWh, we can get,
Total Capacity = (557 ×12 kWh/year×100,000)/(365 ×24 ×0.92h/year) = 83 MW
Therefore, our geothermal power plant capacity is 83MW.
2. Resource Definition
2.1 Resource Type
The heat of earth provide us the geothermal energy. The heat can exist in the shallow ground, as well
as hot water or hot rocks a few miles away from the earth s surface. To go deeper, there will be
extremely hot magma [2]. Usually, volcanic activity and seismic effects can produce geothermal
energy [3].

Abstract Art, Character Design, And Pencil Tests
For my case study the three pieces of artwork that I ll be talking about revolve around animation, as
that is my field of study. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and pencil
tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known as Spirited
Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t
my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend
every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a movie they could enjoy. That is
why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those were the words of Miyazaki,
translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s purpose in general was to
provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghibli films is family, and especially
children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above.
Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and
probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. Immediately
you can see balance within this piece. While both sides are not exactly symmetrical it gives off that
implication by having both sides very similar if you were to split the image down the middle,
especially the train that almost appears that way on it s own. It also has a nice sense of

Essay about The Importance of Accountability
This essay I am going to write is about the importance of accountability in the army, and as to how it
affect the units mission. First off by definition Accountability is important in the military because
soldiers are often times required to perform extremely challenging duties and services. Without
accountability, a soldier cannot be expected to meet these high demands and expectations . Being
accountable means being in the right place at the right time, being in the proper duty uniform, being
dependable and always arriving to work on time, appointments on time and most importantly doing
the right thing at the right time and all the time. One of the most important parts about being
accountable is so that you do not miss any important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
you must be aware of your actions and always be vigilant and never to lose self accountability. Once
you have gained self accountability, you can then start to worry about other people if the task requires
it. Accountability does not only happen on the week days but also during your personal time because a
lot of what you do or people see you do on your personal time can affect how people view and see you
on work time. Also it can also affect how you feel about yourself or how other people feel about you.
The next topic i am going to cover is the importance of being accountable as a Non Commissioned
Officer. This is really important because soldiers will always be coming to you for advice, guidance
and almost everything they can not do alone. NCO s are the backbone of the military, they relay
information from the top of the channels all the way to the bottom. The NCO mindset comes from a
lot of honest hard work and working your way up from the bottom, which is why the NCO s should
know most about accountability, and also because they need to have accountability of not only
themselves but that of others that are under them. If one domino falls then most of the time they will
all fall. so in other words if one person messes up then it could mess up everyone. In some missions
this is very bad because if you are in Afghanistan or Iraq then you need to have accountability so that
everyone gets home safe and unharmed. The higher that you go in the NCO support

Masque Of The Red Death Research Paper
Masque of the Red Death DEATH, BLEEDING FROM ALL PORES. Edgar Allen Poe s Mask of the
Red Death has all of these horrible things, but it makes a great story for author s craft. Authors craft
pops up everywhere in this story from amazing imagery to a great setting. The time is set in medieval
times and there is a land that is owned by a Prince and his followers, a horrible plague strikes this land
and kills many many people anyone who is in it s path is dead. The Prince invites a thousand of his
friends to hide in a fortified abbey, but he and his friends ultimately die from the read death. The
setting of Masque of the Red Death is medical times with a plague that hits the world kids people by
making them bleed from all of their pores. The Prince of a region decided to call a thousand of his
friends to an abbey that would keep them alive and safe from the Red Death but it ultimately failed
and the Red Death gets to them and kills everyone of them. This setting is great because of the fact
that there is not a good source of medicine for every one and not everyone could get help to get rid of
the Disease(84). The Point of View is also a great thing in this story because we get ... Show more

Health Law, Regulation, and Policy Paper Today s health care industry is more than just providing
medical services to individuals in need; it encompasses various laws, regulations, and policies that
direct how care should be provided and what the ramifications of non compliance will have on the
health care provider and the organizations where services are rendered. There are various kinds of

Institutional versus Legislative Policies in Health Care Merriam Webster s dictionary online defines an
institution as a place where an organization takes care of people for a usually long period of time
(n.d.). Thus, an institutional policy is a set of standards established by the institution that governs the
practices and procedures of the organization as it relates to its operations. Legislative policies in health
care are developed in the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government. It is mandatory for all health
care organizations to adhere to legislative policies; however, many institutional policies have a basis
of development within the legislative policies to ensure compliance for their organization. While
legislative policies are broad in nature to encompass various specialty areas in the health care industry,
institutional policies are more specific to the institutions goals and services provided within the
community.
Influence of Politics on Health Care Regulations, Laws, and Policies According to Bambra, Fox, and

Tom Brennan Speech Analysis
Transition involves personal beliefs and attitudes that promotes a mental, physical or emotional
development and progression over time. The exploration of transitions can provide opportunities for
an individual to emotionally reflect on their own personal experience; leading to the social awareness
of others in relation to the consequences encountered. This can result to uncertainties, forcing one to
go through numerous of obstacles in order to mature and grow to a new phase of life. This notion is
explored in the novel The Story of Tom Brennan by J.C. Burke, where the protagonist experience

This concept is demonstrated in Tom Brennan, through the anaphora Running towards the car.
Running into the headlights. Running into the silence of death... which suggests the destructive nature
of the unexpected consequence. The repetition of the phrase running illustrates the immediate shock
the protagonist had suffered by the accident, and also symbolic of running away from the problem.
This also highlights Tom s paranoia in the initial stages of the novel, allowing readers to have a clear
insight in the accident that occurred within Tom s family. It is clear that confronting experiences are
able to be a transformative experience for an individual, where they are force to mentally prepare for
the unexpected. This contradicts the quote, which is before Tom s transition, No pain, no bad thoughts.
Maybe I could just keep running , which uses repetition of no to reflect the denial of negativities in
life. He clearly states that what had kept him positive is running , revealing to the audience how his
past belief had changed prior to the accident. It is evidently shown that Tom s response mechanism left
him two alternatives: run or fight. However, in a time of confusion, Tom contemplates the choices he
has made in life: Part of me wanted to, the other part didn t... Yet a voice inside of me was screaming .
The use of metaphor of the screaming voices

A True Hero In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
A true hero is not the one in the spotlight afraid of what the people will think about his actions a true
hero stands and proclaims for what is right although people may despise him for his/her actions. The
heros of real life are usually the one that people think are considered over the top and usually end up
being ignored while people agree with a person who says the same thing but only slightly less over the
top. William Golding saw this and have incorporated into his novel Lord of the Flies. Due to the
recurring pattern of the hero being the protagonist people automatically assumes the protagonist to be
the hero, although he/she may not be the hero, but rather a support character as shown in the novel
Lord of the Flies.
The definition of a hero is a person who struggles against evil for what is right. In most literature the
villain embodies the evil that the hero is struggling against. The hero most often is the person who is
struggling against. In the beginning of the book Jack clearly did not enjoy Piggy s presence as is
proven when Jack snapped at Piggy when he was telling them the names of the boy around them. Jack
was originally alright with Ralph but he never liked Piggy. From the beginning of the book this is is
already setting up the classic format of having the villain mark the hero as the enemy at the beginning.
Jack was not only against Piggy for the beginning of the book I got the conch Jack turned fiercely You
shut up! (42) this show that Piggy is still struggling against Jack the villain of the novel trying to
withhold Piggy form speaking reason to the people of the island. Jack is not only insulting him, but he
has malicious intents towards Piggy. He took a step, and able at last to hit someone, stuck his fist into
Piggy s stomach (75) Jack could of chose to lash out at Ralph but instead he went towards Piggy
because although he and Ralph may bump heads they are still friends but Piggy is his enemy.
The main reason that Ralph is considered to be the hero of the narrative is because of the common
assumption that the protagonist is always the hero. In most literature this is correct, but there are
always exceptions, many times even if the protagonist is the villain people still trying

Gus DiCesar, the Hilltop County sheriff, proposed the trustees to be taken out from jail 6 days a week.
He also asked for a truck for taking the prisoners to roadsides to clean the county s roadways from

The prisoners would wear the regular jailhouse uniforms. The road crew would consist of 8 or 10

True Religion Jeans Case
The ups and downs of the premium jeans industry and the constant fluctuating of threats to the
industry made it interesting to see how the denim lines would respond. They were originated in the
1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e. Brooke

blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to serve as fashion

premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans that
are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium/high rise
jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers fashion
senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the casual, relaxed fit
jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008 where many were
trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the case described. The
aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000 income per year) who is
willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that all jean types are a threat of
substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of pants in general. People love
wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot of dresses and skirts nowadays,
leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears shorts at some point in the year. So these
are threats of substitutes as well. Lastly, any other high end products people could choose to spend
money on pose as threats as well. Maybe consumers will choose to spend their money on high end
accessories such as a new watch, or maybe a handbag or scarf if

The Role Of Cybersecurity And Its Effects On The World
Cybersecurity Cybersecurity has only been around for a short time. In the short time it s been around,
it s gone from a simple application process in security, to one of the most complicated things to get
right in order to protect the internet. In the late 80 s the very first computer worm was created by
Robert Morris. He released it into the internet in the early 90 s. With it, he shut down large portions of
the internet. (Infosecurity Magazine) Back then, the internet didn t play a large role in everyone s
lives, as it does today. But with that breach, it alerted people that we needed to come up with
something to keep that from happening again, hence cybersecurity was born. Since then, cybersecurity
has only become more complicated, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the career requirements. The minimum requirements for this job is actually rather easy to
acquire. All it takes is experience in the field, such as coding and a very good knowledge of
computers. It doesn t require a college degree. Since ethical hacking is more about skills than
anything, so a bachelor s or master s degree in cybersecurity is unnecessary if you have appropriate
job experience. (Cyber Degrees) Since it doesn t take a college degree, it only takes about two or four
years of experience in the field to achieve this position. If you do take a college route, it ll be 4 6 years
in college plus the 2 4 years of security experience. The education costs will vary, as there are several
ways to learn. Some teach themselves how to code, others use training courses on the internet. I have
also found Metasploit: A Penetration Tester s Guide, a book that is great for beginners to pick up and
learn the basic skills to help get them started in the field. Such as how to create your own modules, or
how to port your own exploits to a server s framework. (David Kennedy) Many security companies
and even individual penetration testers or network/systems technicians will create their own labs in

Earned Tax Credit Policy
One problem the policy faces is that even though the Earned Income Tax Credit encourages work for
some groups, it actually discourages work for others; such as families with two earners who can
decrease hours worked and still have the same amount of money due to the amount of credit. It is
becoming a challenge for low to middle income families to benefit from the policy and even harder to
gain upward social/economic mobility. According to Eamon (2009), Although we might expect that
over time the EITC would motivate more low income parents to enter the workforce and take
advantage of this program, thus further reducing child poverty, our analysis provides little support for
these expectations (pg. 922). It has left hard working families standing ... Show more content on

Sigmund Freud Jung s Suicide
The major disagreement between the two men was on sexuality or libido (human motivation)
(Psychology of the Unconscious). Freud asserted that sexuality was the motivation behind one s
actions. In Freud s Oedipal crisis, Freud notes that a body has repressed sexual desires for his mother
and jealousy towards his father during his psychosexual steps of development. As for girls, the process
is reversed; they have sexual desires toward their fathers and jealousy toward their mothers. In all,
Freud claims that a child s oppressed sexual desires will display itself as defense mechanisms and
expressions of anxiety. While that was the case for Freud, Jung thought that Freud s ideas focused too
much on sex. Indeed, Jung claimed that libido was a life

Aphorism Morrie Analysis
The single most important aphorism Morrie says is, The truth is, Mitch, he said, once you learn how to
die, you learn how to live (82). This aphorism conveys the message that once the realization of death
is accepted, a person understands how time has become more important and precious. Once time is
limited, the life that has been lived already seems to have been for nothing. Learning how to life
comes with the consequence of accepting the future fate of death and beginning to live in the moment,
valuing every little thing that happens because it can change in an instant. When I was in third grade,

The painting I will analysis is painting 4. The painting has described the context in a high end
restaurant. Based on the dress code of the guests, I guess this painting is in the past and those people
are lords. They are having conservation in the restaurant during leisure. It is noteworthy that some of
them wear heavy makeup.
Now, I will analysis this painting on three art elements and three principles of design. The most
significant element in this painting is color. Color acts as a vital role in many paintings. In this
painting, it depicted the atmosphere of the restaurant. Analyzing this painting as a whole picture, I
divided it into four corners evenly. The upper left corner is the group of people with two men at the
back. The upper right corner is the walls of the restaurant with two women. The hue of both upper
parts is tertiary blue green mixed up with little secondary orange. Despite this, blue green is still the
predominant color on both upper parts. The bottom left corner is the railing. The right bottom corner is
the floor of the restaurant and the woman with neutral black clothing. In regard to the details, the
outline of the railing is in tertiary red orange and the railing is in secondary orange. Among the group
of people, the men at the left and the woman in the middle wear primary red and tertiary red violet

Ozymandias Poem Analysis
Ozymandias is a poem written from the perspective of a man who has been told about a statue in the
desert the statue is of famous powerful pharaoh Ozymandia, but it is now crumbling and destroyed.
The poem explores how power can be arrogant and cruel, but ultimately can t last forever. The poem
however is not aztualy about ozymandais, ozymandais is just a metaphor for all kings paricullarly
George 3rd as he was in power at the time the poem was written. John agards poem, checking out e
history is written from th prespective of a boy who is taught about British history in school but not
about his own countries history. The theme of power is presented as the poem critiscizes those in
power and effectively mocks the history he has been taught aboyt in school. The poem is also about
how knowing your history is key t knowing your identity and knowing your identity empowers you.
Ozymandias power is presented as being evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial
expression sneer of cold command suggests arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues
purposely portrayed this look on his face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the
statue s pedestal: king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is.
The phrase king of kings is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of
himself as god like . Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the
description of the statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He emphasizes
how the art work has outlived and utpowered O zymandais . Through the Poem shelley ontinues to
show the poem of man weak .This contrasts with the images of art and nature, which he portrays as
being superior and long lasting through his description of the artists skills which yet survive, stamp d
on these lifeless things, and the neverending landscape boundless and bare, the lone and level sands
stretch far away. Similarily, in checking out me history, josn agard talks about the power of black and

Essay Slaves will be Slaves
Petronius Arbiter, in Trimalchio s Dinner Party, the third chapter of his book Satyricon, mocks the
nature of slaves. He was a top official in Rome, namely the quot;Judge of Taste quot; in Nero s court
(129). Regardless of the responsibilities he had, he was an aristocrat. The history of Rome was written
from an aristocratic perspective because they were the ones who had the money, ambition and free
time to document history. Petronius believed that slaves are low class, and that a slave that has been
set free, id est a freedmen, is still a slave at heart, ergo worthless. Not with all the money in the world
could he develop the taste of the upper class. In ancient and modern times alike, money cannot buy a

He is a social outcast in Roman culture because he was sodomized, however he rationalizes that
quot;it s okay if your master makes you do it quot; (146). He uses language that a blacksmith might
use (23). His wife was a prostitute before he bought her freedom. For the cultured Roman, it would be
repulsive to even take bread from her hand, let alone marry her (26).
Some very sublime, perhaps debatable evidence of the thesis is presented by Petronius using a
metaphor to express his view that a slave will always be a slave. If a slave is freed, he s still the same
person, a low life. Petronius writes a scene where a boar wearing the hat of a freedman is brought into
the dining room. It was supposed to be the dinner for the previous night but they quot;set him free
quot; (29). However, a free boar is still a boar, and now he is dinner. The hat changes nothing.
Petronius asserts his personal belief that slaves will be slaves no matter what changes on the outside,
they will always be slaves on the inside.
From the viewpoint of the aristocracy, merchants were generally considered to be of a very low class.
Trimalchio, which ironically means quot;prince quot; in Hebrew (18), gained his freedom because he
was an accountant and the sexual servant to both the master and the mistress of the household. He
inherited money and freedom when his master died. He amassed great wealth by using that money in

The And Its Effects On The Earth
Incas believed that before anything was created, there was a being called Viracocha Pachayachachi,
which translates to Creator of All Things . He then created everything in this universe and then he
created humans. When he created humans he gave them some rules such as there shall be no
quarrelling on earth. As they disobeyed this rule, Viracocha cursed the beings on earth. Some were
swallowed by the earth and some were swallowed by the sea. He then brought a flood that washed
away all the humans. After the flood Viracocha saved 2 humans who he called upon when he needed
help later on. Out from the dark depths of Lake Titicaca Viracocha bought eternal light to the new
earth summoning the sun, moon and the stars. Viracocha then created everyone differently. Some
women he painted as pregnant, some caring for their babies beside them and on each figure he painted
clothes so that they would continue to wear. He also carved out the different nations and tribes that he
wanted to exist. Viracocha then divided these stones up into separate groups and buried them in the
earth to wait for their command of summoning. After, Viracocha commanded his 2 helpers to travel
the earth to awake the people who were lying deep in earth in caves, streams, rivers and waterfall. He
sent one helper to east region and the other to west region. They were sent there to awaken the people
and inform them of the stories they have experienced. Viracocha then went to Cuzco. Along the way

Over the years we have seen a major advancement in technology and economic growth. The areas of
research and development have a high ROI (return on investment). In many cases, these advancements
have a huge effect on our economic and employment growth especially within the United States.
However, my economic concerns in terms of technology would be the loss of jobs due to changes in
technology. Technology makes it easier to outsource business activities to other countries with less
expensive labor, leading to a loss in domestic jobs (). Small companies can also be affected by
technology in terms of cost. Manufacturing companies are also affected with the development of new

Tobacco And Radiation Cause Cancer Essay

People wonder why they have been diagnosed with cancer, they also wonder how it could have
happened. Some people don t understand why tobacco and radiation cause cancer, and that is what is
answered in this essay. The smoke that emits from smoking tobacco holds a radioactive chemical
called polonium 210. Additionally, X rays and gamma rays are recognized as human carcinogens. As a
result, smoking causes DNA damage which leads to cancer! To what extent does tobacco and radiation
cause cancer?
Polonomium 210 Major tobacco industries found that polonium 210 was in tobacco for more than 40
years and tried to remove the substance but failed. Studies have detected polonium 210 in the airways
of smokers, where they are concentrated in hot spots. They remain there because other chemicals in
cigarette smoke damage the body s cleaning systems, which would normally get rid of gunk in our
airways (Yong). In the end, polonium 210 forms up and disturbs nearby cells to larger amounts of
alpha radiation. This leads to far larger and lengthier exposures to ... Show more content on

quantity of injurious chemicals in tobacco smoke. Each cigarette can damage DNA in many lung cells,
but it is the formation of damage in the same cell that can lead to cancer. Smoking weakens the body s
defenses. We all have cleaner proteins called detoxification enzymes that clean up harmful chemicals
and change them into harmless ones. But the chemicals in smoke, such as cadmium, can overwhelm
these cleaners. Cigarette smoke also impacts the immune system increasing cells which can encourage
tumor growth in the lungs and suppressing the ones which kill cancer

Essay On Representative Democracy
A Direct Democracy is where the people rule the country themselves. Getting all together and hashing
out how their country will be ran. A Representative Democracy is where the people vote on someone
to make their decisions for them. Obviously a direct democracy is favorable but when you grow to
size of thousands than millions of people it becomes an unrealistic expectation to get everyone to
agree to do it one way or another. A representative democracy or a republic is a much more feasible
option for highly populated areas. Republics are countries that have no monarch and are governed by
the people. (Magleby, D)

The three fifths compromise and the great compromise were the two big items of the constitutional
convention. The three fifths compromise was brought to discussion by the southern states that were
determined to count their slaves toward their population. To thus throw the representative vote in their
favor. The three fifths compromise granted that all slaves counted three fifths a vote. This was later
appealed by the 14th amendment. (Magleby, D)
The Great Compromise was a battle between low population small states like New Jersey and big
states like Virginia. Small states like Delaware wanted a Unicameral legislature so that there would be
an even representation for every state. Large states like Virginia advocated for a representation by
population legislature, thus giving large states control. Connecticut was the mother of the legislature
we have today. The Great Compromise or The Connecticut Compromise created a bicameral
legislature. One house that was based off of population, the house of representatives. Then the Senate
of which all states got two senators. (Magleby,

The Success Of Becoming A Millionaire
What is success exactly? There are so many different variations of how you can achieve success.
Success does not just come in a neat package all wrapped up with a bow on top, sometimes success
requires a struggle. Success can be something small or it can be something big. For example you could
consider getting an A on a test a success or becoming a millionaire a success, there are different levels
of success. One aspect of success that that has not been taken into consideration, which is in order for
you to be successful you must be happy, at least that is what I believe. Going back to the example of
becoming a millionaire, sure you may be happy about having money at first but soon having all the
money in the world will not make a difference to you. You will go day after day wishing for
something more and it probably will be something that money cannot buy. However if you are happy
with your job and how you earned the money that is a different story, you have succeeded. According
to Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary success is defined as the attainment of wealth, favor, or
eminence.
When I talked to Amy Strawn, who is the children s pastors wife at my church, she had a few different
definitions of what exactly success was. Her first comment was about success within her faith.
Success to me is living my life in a way that is pleasing to God. I want to impact the most people I can
for the Kingdom of Heaven. Success is sharing Jesus in a true and genuine way.

DRIVER HABITS, GOOD AND BAD
Did you ever hear anyone admit to being a bad driver? Probably not, because everybody thinks they re
a good driver. They also think that everybody else is a menace on the road. If we perfect drivers ride
with another driver, we can usually find fault with their performance. Believe it or not, if they ride
with us, they can return the favor. How can we tell a good driver from a bad one? The number of
traffic accidents they have had would be an obvious indicator, but not necessarily the only one. There
are drivers who have habits that cause others to have accidents.
For instance, imagine you are following two slow cars, and when the way is clear, you signal and pull
out to overtake them. As you come along side the first one, he begins to pull out to overtake the car in
front of him, not seeing you because you are in his blind spot . You might have a crash which he

Competition And Sustainability For Reducing Production Costs
Competition and sustainability in the third party IT contracting industry in the United States are driven
by economic factors such as outsourcing, globalization, mergers, and acquisitions (Rose Anderssen,
Baldwin, Ridgway, 2011). In turn, these factors shape and transform third party IT contracting
companies (Jancikova Brychta, 2009). IT outsourcing (ITO) is a business solution for reducing
production costs (Desar McGee, 2010). This approach is used frequently in the operation of call
centers to provide customer service. For example, in Germany, a labor regulatory framework is used
to reduce labor costs in the operation of registered companies (Weinkopf, 2009). Work is outsourced
to less developed countries with less costly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Representatives of most IT companies, particularly call centers, use cloud computing software to
allow connectivity and sharing of resources in company data centers (Beverakis, Dick, Cecez
Kecmanovic, 2009). Cloud computing software is an advanced tool used in outsourcing, particularly
for communications, because of the capacity to collect and access massive amounts of data. This
software is commonly operated in a data center, which allows access to associated data in a variety of
ways (Anthes, 2010). Because most call centers operate using cloud computing, third party IT
contracting security is a primary concern (Anthes, 2010; Gatewood, 2009).
During the 1980s and 90s, outsourcing organizational activities became the standard for many
organizations (Kahai et al., 2011). Outsourcing, as a part of an organization s overall strategic plan,
has been effective in helping achieve organizational goals and objectives (Kahai et al., 2011).
Currently, many organizations incorporate outsourcing into the strategic plan, and this trend will
probably increase in the future (Heikkila Heikkila, 2010). Although outsourcing will not solve all of
the problems inherent in attempting to achieve competitive advantages and organizational cost
reductions in an organization, the practice is increasingly part of an organization s overall
comprehensive strategy in the business world (Andreff, 2009). While

situation after his reminiscing. Wordsworth realized that he had lost some guidance and was searching
for the presence of nature when returning to the Wye. He remembered when he used to wander and
roam as free as a roe but as he matured he felt content with tapping into his memories of his youth
because as Wordsworth stated, That time is past? other gifts have allowed; for such loss, I would
believe, abundant recompense ; (83 88). He realized that he was involved with more mature things in
life because he had become more intelligent through the years and saw nature in the light of his
intelligence. Yet, he insisted that he was still a lover of the meadows and the woods, and the
mountains; and of all that we behold from this green earth ; (102 105) but indeed, in a more composed
way.
Nature played a major role in this poet s life but it was not all about his physical senses that he took as
reality. It was due to the fact that he was a worshipper of Nature (152) and he knew that nature never
did betray (122) him. And those thoughts were what had comforted and encouraged him to connect
with nature through his mind. He wanted to affirm to his readers that his mind not only receives
sensation and

Behavioral Adaptations In Die Hard Series By John Mcclane
Behavioral Adaptations is the term for when an animal adjusts to environmental stress (Hess). This
can be related to the entire Die Hard series, where John McClane is thrown into several stressful
situations he had not faced before. Humans are probably one of the best at adapting to obstacles due to
our advanced problem solving skills. John shows this by figuring out a new way to deal with the
situations he s thrown into and overcoming all the obstacles. Petroleum and Natural Gas are created
with the accumulation of organic material is sedimentary deposits(Hess). In the first Die Hard Hans
Gruber, the villain, pretends to be a terrorist angry at the Western World while robbing the Nakatomi
Tower. In his speech to the Police and FBI he talks

Examples Of Forgiveness And Reconciliation
The process involved in forgiveness and reconciliation can be very simple or very complex depending
on the situation. One time my friend took money from my wallet, I think it was a $20 bill and I caught
him in the act. We were both in the car and I parked at the mall and I left the car for about five minutes
and when I was walking back I saw in reach into my glove box and take money out of my wallet. I
was shocked and confronted him right away. He said he needed money to pay for his brother back.
Since he is a friend of mine I forgave him and just said he could just ask for money and didn t have to
steal from me. We are still friends and I still hang out with him on the regular but I don t trust him
anymore. Trust is defiantly something that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Amish are very religious and spiritual people who believe that forgiveness is more than a good
thing to do but forgiveness is the thing to do. In the Amish perspective the test of faith is action so
forgiving their children s killers with hours of death really shows what kind of people they are and is
very inspiring. The way the Amish people responded to the killings was such a shock. One of the
things I liked about that article was when they said that religion was not used to justify rage but to
inspire goodness, forgiveness, and grace. Even members of the community visited the gunman s
widow and parents. For the majority of us the process of forgiveness is a journey and may never
happen so just the fact they forgave so quickly was viewed as emotionally unhealthy to many.
Forgiveness has a meaning of not holding a grudge and the Amish were very clear that it does not
make the shooter free from punishment. If he were to live the Amish people would have wanted him
to be locked up but not for reasons of revenge but for the purpose of protecting other children. Most
people growing up learn about forgiveness and have experienced it one way or another. People need to
learn that forgiveness is an essential part of healing and is a process towards inner peace. Learning that
forgiveness is an internal process where you identify the hurt and analyze the situation as well as your
emotions helps you rebuild a sense of safety and letting go of a grudge. The whole process of
forgiveness does not usually involve the offender, most of the time not at all until confronted. As
where reconciliation is an internal process where you have a talk with the offender to talk about
various things such as what happened, each other s stories, viewpoints, reasoning s, expressing the
hurt, emotions, and so on. When reconciliation happens it moves beyond forgiveness because it is

Comparison Of Phytoplankton And Giant Kelp
Phytoplankton and Giant Kelp are two protists found in Seasonal Seas . Phytoplankton are the main
primary producers found in the ocean. Spring is usually when phytoplankton bloom, which is known
as the spring bloom . When too many nutrients are available, phytoplankton may grow out of control
and form harmful algal blooms. Phytoplankton provide food for copepods, and they in turn are prey to
jellyfish. This all contributes to the giant food web in the ocean. Phytoplankton utilize light and
nutrients from the surface of the water which helps them get nutrients and live longer. Because of their
dependency on the sun, they are found floating near the surface of the water. They are extremely
dependent on minerals found in the ocean. The main two types of phytoplankton include the diatoms
and dinoflagellates. Some of them can thrive in different conditions which means that primary
consumers can get plenty of phytoplankton throughout the year. Phytoplankton also play an essential
role in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can grow roughly two feet each day and can grow to a possible height of 175 feet. They are held
upright by gas filled bladders at the base of leaf like blades. They grow straight up to the ocean surface
and they look like a dense canopy on top of the water. Giant Kelp usually grows in turbulent water
where they can absorb nutrients allowing them to grow stronger. They look very tough, but they are
also flexible allowing them to move with the ocean currents. Just like the phytoplankton, a lot of
organisms thrive off of giant kelp. Pieces of decomposed kelp fall to the ocean floor and provide food
for the sea creatures. Giant kelp has a multitude of inhabitants. Invertebrates graze on the blades, fish
seek shelter in the fronds and thousands of invertebrates live in the holdfast. Sea otters like to hang out
in the kelp forest, where they find their favorite food and can wrap themselves in the kelp to keep
from drifting

  • 2. How The Distribution Systems Used And Make Recommendations... In this assignment I am going to evaluate the distribution systems in delivering goods and services for one of the well known food sector business and that is ASDA. I am going to look at both the positive and the negative aspects of the distribution systems used and make recommendations for improvement with justified reasons Asda gets its products straight from the manufacturers and then sells them directly to the customers they don t need to involve a third party in this process and they always get stock direct. They reason that ASDA are able to get the products straight from the suppliers is because they are one of the largest supermarkets in the UK, and therefore can provide suppliers with a lot of business, ASDA also have suppliers who only work for them to create the own brand label i.e. George. This can work against the suppliers as if they begin to rely on the ASDA orders then it can be easy for ASDA to renegotiate the terms in their favour. 1. Food, Household, Health Beauty This area covers off the key FMCG core of the business. 2. General Merchandise non food range 3. Brahe portrayed the humanist ideal observation by revising previous theories and scientific tools throughout his career. Three discoveries attributed to Tycho Brahe include how the earth s position is viewed in the universe, mapping of celestial bodies, and his creation of accurate scientific instruments. Before the Renaissance, many scientists believed in the geocentric theory, or the belief that the earth was the center of the universe, and the sun, planets, and other stars revolved around earth. Tycho proved that the path of the comet of 1577 was not circular, but elongated, meaning that it would be impossible according to the geocentric theory. This discovery influenced the ways scientists viewed the location of planets and stars. Tycho viewed and observed a new star in the constellation Cassiopeia that lay beyond the moon and was in the realm of fixed stars. This discovery of the new star influenced the way scientists mapped all celestial bodies. Brahe was one of the first astronomers to realize the importance of error of instrumentation. He believed that some of the errors in the astronomical works of famous Renaissance astronomers were due to poor instrumentation. Geothermal energy is relatively cost effective, reliable, and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some specific areas. Recent technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal energy resources. Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating, which add use potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas pollution which are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than those of fossil fuels. Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions of the earth. California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy, which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. According to EIA [1], the monthly average consumption per person is 557kWh, we can get, Total Capacity = (557 ×12 kWh/year×100,000)/(365 ×24 ×0.92h/year) = 83 MW Therefore, our geothermal power plant capacity is 83MW. 2. The intended audience for all Studio Ghibli films is family, and especially children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above. Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. Immediately you can see balance within this piece. Being accountable means being in the right place at the right time, being in the proper duty uniform, being dependable and always arriving to work on time, appointments on time and most importantly doing the right thing at the right time and all the time. Also it can also affect how you feel about yourself or how other people feel about you. The next topic i am going to cover is the importance of being accountable as a Non Commissioned Officer. This is really important because soldiers will always be coming to you for advice, guidance and almost everything they can not do alone. NCO s are the backbone of the military, they relay information from the top of the channels all the way to the bottom. The NCO mindset comes from a lot of honest hard work and working your way up from the bottom, which is why the NCO s should know most about accountability, and also because they need to have accountability of not only themselves but that of others that are under them. If one domino falls then most of the time they will all fall. so in other words if one person messes up then it could mess up everyone. A True Hero In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies A true hero is not the one in the spotlight afraid of what the people will think about his actions a true hero stands and proclaims for what is right although people may despise him for his/her actions. The heros of real life are usually the one that people think are considered over the top and usually end up being ignored while people agree with a person who says the same thing but only slightly less over the top. William Golding saw this and have incorporated into his novel Lord of the Flies. Due to the recurring pattern of the hero being the protagonist people automatically assumes the protagonist to be the hero, although he/she may not be the hero, but rather a support character as shown in the novel Lord of the Flies. The definition of a hero is a person who struggles against evil for what is right. In most literature the villain embodies the evil that the hero is struggling against. In the late 80 s the very first computer worm was created by Robert Morris. He released it into the internet in the early 90 s. With it, he shut down large portions of the internet. (Infosecurity Magazine) Back then, the internet didn t play a large role in everyone s lives, as it does today. The poem is also about how knowing your history is key t knowing your identity and knowing your identity empowers you. Ozymandias power is presented as being evil and cruel . The description of his statue s facial expression sneer of cold command suggests arrogance and shows that the slaves who built the statues purposely portrayed this look on his face to mock ozymandias. Also the writing which appears on the statue s pedestal: king of kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair! shows how big his ego is. The phrase king of kings is used in the bible to describe jesus. So ozymandais effectively thinks of himself as god like . Shelley continues to portray this as he uses juxtaposition when writing the description of the statue as it is now a colossal wreck , which is in decay and shatter d . He was a top official in Rome, namely the quot;Judge of Taste quot; in Nero s court (129). Regardless of the responsibilities he had, he was an aristocrat. The history of Rome was written from an aristocratic perspective because they were the ones who had the money, ambition and free time to document history. Petronius believed that slaves are low class, and that a slave that has been set free, id est a freedmen, is still a slave at heart, ergo worthless. For the cultured Roman, it would be repulsive to even take bread from her hand, let alone marry her (26). Some very sublime, perhaps debatable evidence of the thesis is presented by Petronius using a metaphor to express his view that a slave will always be a slave. If a slave is freed, he s still the same person, a low life. Petronius writes a scene where a boar wearing the hat of a freedman is brought into the dining room. It was supposed to be the dinner for the previous night but they quot;set him free quot; (29). However, a free boar is still a boar, and now he is dinner. The hat changes nothing. Petronius asserts his personal belief that slaves will be slaves no matter what changes on the outside, they will always be slaves on the inside. From the viewpoint of the aristocracy, merchants were generally considered to be of a very low class. IT outsourcing (ITO) is a business solution for reducing production costs (Desar McGee, 2010). This approach is used frequently in the operation of call centers to provide customer service. Representatives of most IT companies, particularly call centers, use cloud computing software to allow connectivity and sharing of resources in company data centers (Beverakis, Dick, Cecez Kecmanovic, 2009). Cloud computing software is an advanced tool used in outsourcing, particularly for communications, because of the capacity to collect and access massive amounts of data. This software is commonly operated in a data center, which allows access to associated data in a variety of ways (Anthes, 2010). Because most call centers operate using cloud computing, third party IT contracting security is a primary concern (Anthes, 2010; Gatewood, 2009). During the 1980s and 90s, outsourcing organizational activities became the standard for many organizations (Kahai et al., 2011). Outsourcing, as a part of an organization s overall strategic plan, has been effective in helping achieve organizational goals and objectives (Kahai et al., 2011). Currently, many organizations incorporate outsourcing into the strategic plan, and this trend will probably increase in the future (Heikkila Heikkila, 2010). We were both in the car and I parked at the mall and I left the car for about five minutes and when I was walking back I saw in reach into my glove box and take money out of my wallet. I was shocked and confronted him right away. He said he needed money to pay for his brother back. The Amish are very religious and spiritual people who believe that forgiveness is more than a good thing to do but forgiveness is the thing to do. In the Amish perspective the test of faith is action so forgiving their children s killers with hours of death really shows what kind of people they are and is very inspiring. The way the Amish people responded to the killings was such a shock. One of the things I liked about that article was when they said that religion was not used to justify rage but to inspire goodness, forgiveness, and grace. Even members of the community visited the gunman s widow and parents. For the majority of us the process of forgiveness is a journey and may never happen so just the fact they forgave so quickly was viewed as emotionally unhealthy to many. Phytoplankton provide food for copepods, and they in turn are prey to jellyfish. This all contributes to the giant food web in the ocean. Phytoplankton utilize light and nutrients from the surface of the water which helps them get nutrients and live longer. Because of their dependency on the sun, they are found floating near the surface of the water. They are extremely dependent on minerals found in the ocean. The main two types of phytoplankton include the diatoms and dinoflagellates. Some of them can thrive in different conditions which means that primary consumers can get plenty of phytoplankton throughout the year. Phytoplankton also play an essential role in the ... They are held upright by gas filled bladders at the base of leaf like blades. They grow straight up to the ocean surface and they look like a dense canopy on top of the water. Giant Kelp usually grows in turbulent water where they can absorb nutrients allowing them to grow stronger. They look very tough, but they are also flexible allowing them to move with the ocean currents. Just like the phytoplankton, a lot of organisms thrive off of giant kelp. Pieces of decomposed kelp fall to the ocean floor and provide food for the sea creatures. Giant kelp has a multitude of inhabitants. Invertebrates graze on the blades, fish seek shelter in the fronds and thousands of invertebrates live in the holdfast.
