Advantages And Disadvantages Of Photovoltaic Basics
Photovoltaic basics
The sun is the main source of energy on earth, providing the planet with radiant energy which is
transformed once it reaches every substance on the planet into a different kind of energy, making
the wind blow, the seas flow and all atoms move. The energy in the Wind and sea have been used
for centuries and nowadays thanks to the photovoltaic effect, a part of this vast energy can be
harnessed and directly transformed into a more usable way of energy, electricity.
The photovoltaic effect can be vaguely explained as the creation of electric potential and current
once light is absorbed in a semiconductor material. A semiconductor material, can be doped with
other elements in order to force the creation of a certain quantity of free carriers, electrons in n
type and holes in p type semiconductors. When put together, this two differently doped materials
form the PN junction where, through the diffusion of carriers, (i.e. electrons diffuse to the p type
semiconductor and holes to the n type), an area called depletion zone is generated. Then,
absorption of a photons in a semiconductor, generates more electron hole pairs increasing the
potential in the device and by connecting the separated regions by means of a conductor, the free
carriers can flow through a circuit obtaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be obtained doing multiple measurements of the power output of the solar cell for various
load resistances. By doing so, the Isc and the Voc can be obtained when the resistance tends to zero
and when the resistance tends to infinity respectively. Furthermore, using this method the optimal
operation point known as the maximum power point (mpp) can also be found and consequently the
current at the maximum power point (Impp) and the voltage at the maximum power point (Vmpp).

Jane Grey Research Paper
She stretched forth her body and said Lord, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And so she
ended. Extract from The Tower of London by Harrison Ainsworth. Where do you see yourself in
4 years? How would you react if you were told you had been chosen as king or queen of
England? This reality was all too real for Lady Jane Grey, the quiet young girl from
Leicestershire. At the age of 17 Jane became queen, but not for long. This biography will follow
the fascinating life of this intelligent protestant women and explore what makes her story one of
the most captivating of her time. 461 years and 9 months ago, Frances Grey, Duchess of Suffolk,
delivered a beautiful young baby girl with a head of fiery red hair. In the picturesque woodlands of
Bradford Park in Leicestershire, Jane matured to be a sophisticated... Show more content on

to live in Thomas Seymour s household. Soon after, Seymour married Catherine Parr and Jane
lived with the couple until Catherine s death in 1548. After the tragedy of Catherine s death
Jane moved back with her parents. 5 years after moving back with her abusive parents Jane was
married, that day may have been the turning point of her whole life. In April 1552 Edward VI
became sick with the measles and soon after with tuberculosis. He became so sick that it was
obvious that he would die before producing an heir. Edward wrote a letter, stating that he wanted
his cousin, Lady Jane Grey, to become queen of England. As this word came out, the greedy and
ambitious John Dudley came up with a plan. If he was to get his last unmarried son, Lord

Blue-1 Reaction Lab Report
The Blue Dye #1 reaction can be determined by utilizing Beer s Law, and First and Second order
integration. Beer s law is first used to calculate the molar absorptivity of the Blue #1 dye. Beer s
law states that the concentration of the Blue #1 Dye is directly proportional to the absorbance of
the solution. The molar absorptivity, e was calculated to be 9.63x104 and will be used when
calculating the activation energy of the reaction. First, the rate order for both the Blue #1 and
Bleach needed to be determined. A known concentrationof both Blue #1 dye and bleach are needed
to conclude the rate order of the solutions because the rate order is dependent on the concentration
of the solution used. The absorbance versus time is plotted and from... Show more content on

programming activities like social activities for adults, families with children, and children?
Based on the initial investigation, and after the discarding of error sources, I would recommend to
the board to incorporate more social activities for the adults (Cooper Schindler, 2014, p. 256). This
is due to the seasoned members complaints on the lack thereof. After a poll was taken and the
external validity was verified through scientific measurement, social activities seemed to be one of
the biggest concerns for the tenured members. An index was created to further measure customer

MГ©tis In Canada
After the creation of Manitoba was the mГ©tis were treated in terrible and cruel ways. Canada
was viewed as taking advantage of the mГ©tis. After the creation of Manitoba the Europeans
believed they were superior to the Metis and many laws were made to just benefit themselves.
The mГ©tis had tried to obtain scrips which were basically a piece of paper that could be used
to certify possession of land or be exchanged for money. The land scrips would allow the Metis
to either claim 160 acres of land or sell it for $160. You could also get money scrips that were
either $160 or $240. The problem with scrips is that they were frequently stolen which caused
major problems for the mГ©tis as there weren t any names attached to it which meant it was
useable to anyone. At... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the Bison population began to decrease, the Metis economy was affected and they
realized they had to take action. In 1873, the Metis of St. Laurent officially wrote down the Laws
of St. Laurent, which decreased the number of Bison Hunts. These laws were unjust and cruel to
the mГ©tis. Lawrence Clark made decisions that only benefited the HBC and if any Metis dared
to complain, he would imprison them. Clark also payed the Metis carriers the bare minimum wage
(which was virtually nothing), and made their lives as difficult as possible. Clark suggested, that
with the creation of the North West Territories, that a Magistrate should be appointed, later Clark
was appointed as the magistrate. His new role as a magistrate made him further more increase his
authority, which allowed him to help the HBC even more. The laws of St. Laurent made bison hunt
very difficult. In the spring, a group of bison hunters started hunting bison before the official
hunting was allowed. The hunters were arrested and fined for hunting too early. Clarke treated the
Metis very poorly and the Metis began to ignore the St. Laurent

Goldfish Lab Report
In this experiment, an oxygen measuring probe was attached to an oxygen chamber in order to
quantify oxygen consumption rate, which served as a substitute measure for metabolic rate.
The oxygen measuring probe provided real time measurements of dissolved oxygen (DO)
concentration present in the chamber water. The oxygen chamber was sealed to create a closed
system so that over time, the oxygen levels would decrease as the goldfish respired and
consumed the oxygen present in the water. The software LoggerLite was used to record real
time DO concentration measurements. The procedure for this experiment followed the steps as
shown in the flow chart (Figure 1) and will be expanded upon here. The oxygen measuring probe
in the test chamber was first turned on and required 10 minutes to warm up. During this time,
two empty containers had 200mL of fish water added to them and then each was weighed using
a scale that was tared to zero before use. Two pairs of goldfish were then collected from the large
tank #1 in the lab room using the fish net provided, and one pair was placed in each container.
Then, the containers were reweighed separately and the original weights were subtracted from the
new weights in order to determine each pair of goldfish s weight. Two trials were conducted and
in each trial, each goldfish pair was subjected to two conditions, first a control condition where no
factors were introduced, followed by an experimental condition where they were exposed

2.1. Hydrazones:
Hydrazones are a special class of organic compound in the Schiff base family. They are
characterized by the prescence of azomethine ( C=N N=C 15 min). The hydrazones obtained are
tested for their DNA cleavage properties and some of them are found to show good chemical
nuclease activity in the presence of both oxidizing agent (H2O2) and reducing agent (MPA). Some
of them exhibited hydrolytic activity and their antioxidant activity was found to be very low.

I Am Charlotte Simmons Character Analysis
In I am Charlotte Simmons, Tom Wolfe accurately portrays modern day college life through his
exploration of the complexities of sexual relationships, academics, and morality as they relate to
social status. Through Charlotte Simmons character and the people with whom she interacts,
Wolfe asserts that sexual relationships are crucial to an individual s social status. This becomes
immediately evident to Charlotte when she gets to Dupont. After being at Dupont for only a few
weeks, Charlotte is kicked out of her room at 2:00 in the morning by her roommate, Beverly
because Beverly wants to have sex with a boy she met; in other words, Charlotte is sexiled. While
she is sexiled in the common area of her building, she meets Bettina, another freshman... Show

Throughout the novel, it is apparent the most popular people are the ones with the lowest moral
standards. This is evidenced through the negative relationship between Charlotte s declining
morals and social ascension. When Charlotte first arrives at Dupont, she is appalled by alcohol
and anything related to sex. As the book progresses, however, Charlotte changes. Soon after
Charlotte becomes friends with Bettina and Mimi, however, she goes to the frat party where she
meets Hoyt. Until this point, Charlotte stayed completely away from alcohol and was could not
believe grinding was considered an acceptable thing to do in public. At this party, however, Hoyt
easily convinces her to drink wine. After this Charlotte realizes that the more she drinks, the more
fun she has, and the more people like her. This became clear less than three months later at the
Saint Ray formal when Charlotte gets drunk and has sex with Hoyt, completely going against
everything she believed in when she started school.
The relationship between morality and social status is also evident with the guys in Saint Ray and
the basketball players. They are the most popular people at Dupont, and they curse, drink too much
alcohol, and have sex. Though she began her time at Dupont innocent and convinced she is
Charlotte Simmons, not to be influenced by other people, the more Charlotte is exposed to this
lifestyle, the more she embraces

I feel that having a good beat and interesting dance numbers is important for captivating the
audience. The costumes and sets are the most interesting production aspect because they are easily
overlooked yet, they set the mood and tone of the musical and create the atmosphere on which the
whole plot of the musical revolves. I am most curious about the choreographers because when you
watch a musical you see the dancers doing the steps but I m interested to learn about the creative
process that goes into creating the dance scenes. I am also interested in how or if the
choreographers work with the composers. Do they collaborate in composing the music to go with
style the choreographer wants for the dance piece or is the music composed first and the
choreographer works based on the music? An aspect of the American musical theater and dance
entertainment business I would like to pursue research on is the producing of musicals, because
beyond providing money for the creation and execution of the musical I am interested in how much
input and involvement in the shows creative aspects the producer has. I would like to learn more

Afl s Role In The American Industrial Revolution
Throughout American history workers were trying to defend their rules and be well paid as
well as respected by employer. The AFL organization was created in 1881 and took place in the
period of Industrial revolution. It is obvious that raising industrial power were in need of worker
power and to produce more and meet all deadlines which was settled by employer, usually labor
rights were impaired. So, the strategy of AFL was creation loose of federation of roughly 100

and he ensured they stuck by each other. Moreover, one of the important achievement took place in

Figurative Language In Casey At The Bat
The author, Ernest L. Thayer, of Casey at the Bat, uses humor to describe Casey s experiences.
He uses humor in the form of rhyming. He also uses humor in the form of figurative language. A
good bit of humor is shown through these forms of humor. The humor is described very well by
the author. Starting with figurative language, you find a hyperbole. The example is when one
person at the stand shouts, Kill him! Kill the umpire! It s hyperbole because he doesn t want him
to literally be killed. What makes it humorous is that some readers may find it funny for someone
to yell, Kill him, at a baseball game. The example for rhyming is when the stragglers thought about
betting on Casey. The author wrote, They thought, If only Casey could

Noun Phrases Essay
Noun Phrases in English Truth be told, there are a large number of definitions about phrases.
Broadly speaking, Burton Roberts (1986) states that a group of words used as a component in the
structure of sentences is called a phrase. According to George Yule (2006), a noun phrase is a
phrase in which the main word is a noun functioning as a subject or an object. We can understand
the definition of noun phrases more clearly with the following examples : E.g. The man upstair
Five little ducks The beautiful vase on the table One of the most significant factors that we should
pay attention to noun phrases is that they cannot stand alone as sentences. While the clauses have a
verb that can change depending on the time reference , the noun phrases do not. Also, some noun
phrases do not include subjects either.

Andrea Del Castagno Analysis
During the Renaissance, a religious view of the world made a huge impact on art. The biblical
character David became an emerging popular subject among artists. Although David s story is
quite simple, artists faced challenges creating a visual representation of the young hero. The two
main obstacles were discovering how to portray the body committing the act, and also rendering the
spirit of the act itself. Among the artists who tried to recreate this story visually were Andrea del
Castagno and Andrea del Verrocchio. Castagno introduced his form of the Davidthrough painting.
The piece was entitled David with the Head of Goliath, and was originally used as a parade shield.
It differed from common parade shields, which were decorated with simple coat and arms, due to
its rare painted scene. The shield was believed to have been carried in civic or religious processions

His David is depicted in a confident pose after the battle with Goliath is already won, while
Castagno depicts David in both the moment of fighting the giant and after defeating him. Both art
works show Goliath s head under David s feet, but Castagno tells more of the biblical story in his
imagery and action. The piece being painted upon a shield also plays a testimonial role. In the Old
Testament, David is a young shepherd; he uses the motive that if God protects his sheep than God
too will protect him before going into battle with Goliath. By painting this imagery on a shield,
one can conclude that God is David s shield (David). Verrocchio s work lacks this deeper analytical
meaning. Andrea del Castagno s David with Head of Goliath stands 45 1/2 x 30 1/8 inches wide
at the top and 45 1/2 x 16 inches wide at the bottom. The work was made of tempera on leather on
wood. Castagno painted the piece in about 1450/1455. The work was part of the Widener
Collection, at the National Gallery of Art

Gastrointestinal Bleeding (LGIB)
A lower Gastrointestinal Bleed is referred as any bleed that occurs distal to the ligament of Treitz
and superior to the anus. This includes the last 1/4 of the duodenum and the entire area of the
jejunum, ileum, colon, rectum, and anus1. This rectal bleeding may be overt or occult, and overt
bleeding can be acute, massive or chronic.
In patients who presents with gastrointestinal (GI) haemorrhage, about 20 33% are cases of Lower
gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB). In Western countries the annual incidence of LGIB is about 20
27 cases per 100,000 population2. In a recent study that takes place at National University Hospital

(33.5%), hemorrhoids (22.5%), and carcinoma (12.7%). The investigators also found that most
patients in the study (55.5%) presented with hematochezia, with the next most frequent
presentations being maroon stools (16.7%) and melena (11%) 8. In another study that was done at
National University Hospital of Iceland during 2010. In this study all patient who underwent
colonoscopy were included, 1134 patients underwent 1275 colonoscopies. Overall, 163 patients
had ALGIB. The crude incidence for ALGIB was 87/100 000 inhabitants/year. The most common
findings were diverticulosis (23%) and ischemic colitis (16%) 3. A difference has been noticed
between the West and the subcontinent in the frequency of different findings in patients with rectal
bleeding. In Pakistan, lot of studies were done on aetiology and treatment of upper gastrointestinal
bleeding but little work is done on the lower gastrointestinal tract. In a study carried out in 1990 in
Pakistan, colonoscopy was performed in patients with lower gastrointestinal tract pathologies. The
most common pathologies diagnosed were ulcerative colitis and malignancy, followed by amoebic
colitis, while percentage of Crohn s colitis, polyps and diverticuli were less9. In another study

Sacco And Bartolomeo Vanzetti Analysis
On August 23, 1927, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were executed in one of the most iconic
and infamous trials in American history. Since that date, historians have argued on the attitudes
surrounding this case that gained global attention throughout the 1920s. Immediately following the
execution of these Italian anarchists, the liberal public expressed outrage and contempt for the
verdict. Felix Frankfurter, in 1927 wrote a piece entitled, The Case of Sacco and Vanzetti, which
dug into the injustices of the court. Frankfurter was appalled at how the justice system conducted
the hearing. It is suggested that the judicial system jumped to conclusions, with a complete
disregard for any evidence. Similarly. E.M. Morgan, an attorney of law, wrote an article for the
Yale University Press, The Law of Evidence: Some Proposals for its Reform, also in 1927. This
piece scrutinized the lack of evidence, the fabricated plots, and the mismatched witness testimonies

The alleged innocence of Sacco and Vanzetti was heavily scrutinized by American conservatives
since the 1920s, though earlier critiques on the character of these suspects was primarily due to
xenophobic sentiments towards Italians following the mob and prohibition in the 1920s. The Cold
War rekindled feelings of uncertainty towards the Sacco and Vanzetti trial. With the American
values of capitalism and democracy under siege, fewer Americans sympathized with anarchists in
the United States. Although many did not dispute that the court case of Sacco and Vanzetti was
mishandled, many still vocalized that the court was just in its sentencing, since Americans likened
the threat of communism to other perceived domestic threats, namely anarchism in the United
States. The 1950s and 1960s were a period of mass hysteria surrounding alternate governing
methods that did not involve a capitalist based

Intake Manifold Of Throttle Body Injection
Intake manifold of throttle body injection/carburetion engines are designed to provide optimum
flow of air fuel mixture and to reduce the chances of the vaporized fuel re condensation. Intake
manifold runners on these engines have a few bends as possible. And it is one of the primary
components regarding the performance of an internal combustion engine. An intake manifold is
usually made up of a plenum, throttle body connected to the plenum and runners depending on the
number of cylinders, which leads to the engine cylinder. In port/direct injection SI engines (also CI
engines), the manifold is designed for air flow only, so, these can have larger runners and sharp
bends as these do not have to keep fuel suspended in air.
Exhaust manifold is a part of diesel engines and is required to collect the exhaust gases from the
cylinder head and send it to the exhaust system. This is found in between the engine and exhaust
system. Exhaust manifold plays an important role in the performance of automobile. Particularly,
the efficiencies of emission and the fuel consumption are nearly related to the exhaust manifold.
The manifold may be a casting or made of relatively light material depends on working
environment. The purpose of the exhaust manifold is to collect and carry these exhaust gases away
from the engine cylinders with a minimum of back pressure, without affecting engine performance.
The exhaust manifold used in a 4 stroke IC engine is mounted on the cylinder head of an

Book Of Exodus Comparison Essay
The Book of Exodus, known in Hebrew as Sefer Shemot ( Book of Names ), is the second book of
the Torah (Pentateuch) and the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Exodus recounts the events of
the Egyptian enslavement of the Israelites, their subsequent liberation by their god, Yahweh, and
the Deliverer, Moses, and their journey to the Promised Land. To facilitate the comprehension of
Exodus or to make hundreds of millions of dollars film studios have produced many film
adaptations of Exodus two in the case of Cecil B. DeMille. Two such films are The Ten
Commandments and The Prince of Egypt. The former, a live action motion picture released in
1956, is DeMille s second iteration of Exodus, while the latter, released in 1998, is a
DreamWorks made animated version of the story. Overall, both films portray Exodus well, though
they add staple Hollywood plot devices in an effort to modernize the four thousand odd year old
story and end up negatively affecting the original story in the process.

Blackberry-Picking Analysis
Blackberry Picking In Blackberry Picking by Seamus Heaney, the speaker uses anatomical
imagery to reveal the horror of losing the blackberries and enjambment to convey the rushed
picking to avoid rot, and both contribute to the overall theme of false hope. The speaker s use of
anatomical imagery emphasizes the horrific feelings that he holds towards his experience of
losing the blackberries to rot. While describing the blackberries, the speaker states, summer s
blood was in it using anatomical imagery of blood to reveal his feelings towards the
blackberries. Blood brings to mind pain and death, and in the context of the blackberries, shows
the speaker s negative response to picking the berries. Additionally, by claiming that the blood of
summer was in the blackberry, the speaker implies the death of summer by way of eating the
blackberries. This imagery is dark and gory, and emphasizes the speaker s disgust and almost
hatred toward the berries and what they represent. The speaker goes on to say that the fruit
fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour, using anatomical diction to emphasize the rotting of
the blackberries. This line utilizes a mix of juxtaposition and imagery to reveal the decay of the
berries. By stating the flesh is sweet, the speaker implies that he enjoys the berries themselves, as
sweet is typically seen as a positive term. However, he then juxtaposes sweet against sour, showing
that as the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Storage Containers Advantages And Disadvantages
Portable storage containers have become a highly popular option for movers. What makes them so
unique is that unlike a moving truck, a moving container is delivered right to the mover s home,
giving them the ability to take their time to pack their belongings and load them into the container
at their convenience. When they are ready to move, the containeris picked up at their home, and
delivered to their new location.
This is a useful solution for the mover who may not be able to move into their new home right
away, and requires storage for their items. Storage containers can also be helpful for home
renovators who need to empty out certain rooms or areas of their home, but don t want the hassle
of having to load up a moving truck and moving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The 70s Second Wave Of Feminism
According to Weatherall (2002), interest into the complex interaction of language and gender as a
field of study arose during the 70s second wave of feminism within the context of popular and
scholarly feminism. Linguists, anthropologists, and sociologists as well have displayed an interest
into this field of study in order to explain the correlated patterning of language, culture, and society.
The study of gender and language has focused on two main areas: first, the speech of females and
males and how they are distinct. This area considers the specific characteristics of speech and the
different strategies used by either males or females. Second, this area considers the relation between
the structure of language and the two genders. In other

Mark Wade Album Analysis
Mark Wade is a proficient double bassist and composer who has been playing in NYC for two
decades, showing off his fluid, athletic sound. The follow up to his widely recognized debut
album, Event Horizon, is entitled Moving Day and like its previous, features a classic trio with
Tim Harrison and Scott Neumann on piano and drums, respectively. Together, they achieve an
impressive triangular tightness that can be heard without delay on the first track, the 6/4 post bop
wonder that gave the album its title. It kicks off with the pianist delivering an ostinato, which,
minutes later, is reutilized by the bassist to install the groove. The bandleader embarks on an
effusive back and forth solo, discharging equal parts of melody and rhythm, and the energy doesn t

The Success Of The Bell Jar By Sylvia Plath
Ever since her suicide Sylvia Plath has become a well known female author, her most famous
piece of work being The Bell Jar. While the book has rose in popularity many argue that the sum
of the reputation that the book holds is because of the story behind the author, and her own suicide.
Yet, those who argue this fail to see how Plath is a revolutionary author for her time, through this
piece of writing. The success of The Bell Jaris not held accountable to Plath s suicide but on her
actual writing, and how she speaks out on topics that authors of her time don t usually write about
such as having a feminist standpoint and on reaching insanity.
Throughout the novel, Plath maintains the theme of feminism, making her main character, Esther,
a feminist. She doesn t believe that she needs a man to be successful or happy, which was an idea
many women at the time thrived on. Path separates Esther and these women early on in the book
saying how ...simply hanging around in New York to get married to some career man or other.

Esther states that she hated the idea of serving men in any way, (76). In her mind, a man holds a
woman back from her own independent success. She makes this idea very clear by incorporating
a husband in her envision of her imaginary fig tree. By having a single fig for a husband alone

Unit 17 Lead Person Centred Practice

Unit 17: Lead Person Centered Practice
1. Understand the theory and principles that underpin person centred practice
1.1 Explain person centred practice
Person centred practice is an approach that puts the individual at the centre of their care and
involves them in making decisions about things that affect them (Health Foundation, 2012).
By using a person centred approach individuals are empowered to be fully involved in the planning
of their care and in making decisions regarding this. There are several components of person
centred care which includes;
Recognising, and getting to know each person as an individual and being responsive to their
individual needs as well as family characteristics
Ensuring that care is provided to each individual in and a way that is meaningful to them as
individuals. Care should be provided in a way that is respectful to the individual s values,
preferences and needs
Take into account every individual s own unique biological, psychological and social needs
Promote and foster the devlopmenty of trusting care givIng relationships
Place emphasis on freedom of choice and support reasonable risk taking which is appropriate to the
individual personally
Service users should be seen as equal partners in the planning of their care with shared decision
making. Fundamentally, the aim of person cented care is personalisation and a holistic approach
should be taken. Therefore the individuals culture, ethnicity, wishes and personal

often in some cramped space hidden away in the bowels of someone else s building.
Dig a little deeper, and you begin to learn more about how the company started and what made
its creator so passionate passionate enough to do the creating. If you re a consumer or an

Into The Wild Transcendentalism
On September 6, 1992, a group of moose hunters discovered the remains of Chris McCandless
body, which, through abject starvation, had withered and decayed in the unforgiving Alaskan bush.
Upon discovery, Chris corpse became a symbol of misguided passions and misinterpreted values
and inspired many to explore and document his story of demise. In Jon Krakauer s Into the Wild,
the story of Chris, attempting to achieve ultimate freedom and independence is told. On this
journey, it is evident that Chris McCandless shunning of society was unjustified because he took
the transcendentalist ideas expressed in Henry David Thoreau s Walden and Ralph Waldo Emerson
s
Self Reliance and radically misinterpreted them. Because of his analytical error, McCandless was
unable to attain freedom and independence, despite his support for these values; egotism overcame
individualism, and McCandless hubris and extreme risk taking resulted in foolish isolationism and
rendered his journey useless. One of the central tenets of transcendentalism is the aspiration of
freedom and the desire to pursue a life of individualism. This is described in Self Reliance, where
Ralph Waldo Emerson states ... that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide... (1). Both envy and
imitation are parts of collectivism, and as such, cannot be well integrated into the philosophy of
transcendentalism, which has a deep contempt for society. At first, McCandless seems to satisfy the
mandate of individualistic pursuit,

Van Gogh Houses In Auvers

When having to choose two works of art to compare and analyze, it had occurred to me that one
of my all time favorite artist has always been Vincent Van Gogh. After searching through countless
of Van Gogh s magnificent works of art, I knew I wanted to analyze Houses in Auvers . Once I
chose my first painting, the second piece fell right into place. Since Van Gogh was a painter in the
post impressionist movement, deciding to choose another painter from that movement worked out
well. I chose, Auvers, Panoramic View , painted by Paul Cezanne. A majority of people admiring
these paintings would realize at least two elements: houses, and the beauty. Although, looking
beyond the beauty of the town, there are many more comparisons.

more, and to a point, more vibrant than Cezanne s. The color in both works of art accomplishes
much more than add to the beauty of the surroundings and landscape. The color used in both
these paintings does a stunning job describing the world around them. Even though the color may
be dull, it adds to the emotion of both paintings. With Cezanne s having a bigger point of view
than Van Gogh s, the color is distributed immensely in Auvers, Panoramic view . Having this be

the town gives off. Even with the dull like coloring in both, it gives the viewer a sense of

consumption. Increase the amount of water that you drink each day. You should attempt to
drink a gallon of water every day. Your boy uses water in nearly every process, and your sperm
cells and seminal fluid require water to be healthy and properly colored. Reduce consumption of

The Prayer Of A Public School
Many people in Southern Missouri believe that we need to have more religion in schools. Keep
Christ in Christmas, One nation under God, and post the Ten Commandments on every wall in
public buildings. This is an easy rallying cry because most people in rural Southwest Missouri
share the same Christian beliefs. There is a place for these types of soapboxes. That place is
called church. Schools are designed to prepare students for the college and career. Churches are
designed to prepare congregations for the after life. As the law mandates, each organization is
separate and each plays a vital role in the betterment of our communities. In order to address
religious celebrations in schools, one must address how religionshould be handled in the day to day
educational operation of a public school. The First Amendment Center provides a great guide and
tips on How to Handle Religious Holidays in Public Schools. The article reminds educators that
schools may not promote any religion, but may teach about religion. As an English teacher one
cannot have their class read The Crucible without educating their students on the Puritan faith. Most
freshmen in Missouri read Romeo and Juliet. To understand the true motivations of the Juliet the
reader must have a basic understanding of Catholicism. The same idea is true in Social Studies.
Educators cannot ignore religion, they just cannot promote it. Students in rural Southwest Missouri

The Violence Of A Multi Ethnic Society
Samuel Huntington famously stated that the fiercest clashes have become battles between
civilizations, according to him these clashes are neither ideological or economic, but rather cultural.
Huntington couldn t have been more mistaken. In reality, the modern world has become plagued
with an increasing presence of intra state wars as modern conflict has become synonymous with
clashes between individuals, groups, and communities that differ very little . Freud attempted to
explain this perplexing occurrence as a narcissism of minor differences by stating that group
solidarity requires the existence of an Other , a minority, which through its suppression validates the
identity of the majority. According to this logic, all communities despite their homogeneity must
seek a minority within themselves in order to validate their existence. Bosnia s cosmopolitanism
prior to the Yugoslavian War provides us with a vivid example that this narcissism is a superficial
explanation as to why fraternal conflict occurs. Prior to the war, Bosnia was not only the most
ethnically integrated Yugoslavian republic, it was the poster child of a multi ethnic society in
which various ethnicities not only coexisted but rather intermingled. This peaceful coexistence was
disrupted by Slobodan Milosevic, Serbias president, who used Yugoslavias economic and political
crisis of 1988 in his favour by essentializing the crisis along the lines of ethnic national identity.

Siren s Rock Between Island Bay And Owhiro Bay
On Wednesday the 18th February the year 12 biology class went to Siren s Rock between Island
bay and Owhiro bay to study community patterns. The community pattern we were studying
was zonation on the rocky shore. Zonation is when an environmental factor changes, the
distribution of species changes which results in the species being present in zones or bands. In
this report I am going to talk about the Cellana denticulata limpet, the Cellana radian and the
relationship between the two species. Species 1: Description: The Cellana denticulata is a
limpet which belongs in the true limpet family. A true limpet is a small marine gastropod
mollusc. The C denticulata is a mollusc due to it having a soft body with a hard shell. The shell
of the C denticulata is a lot more elevated and bigger than other species of limpets with 20 30
strong ribs granulose and scaly. The colour of the shell can vary from a grey to brown colour.
On the inside of the shell the C denticulata is a bluish whitey colour with darker streaks where the
undersides of the ribs are. The C denticulata has a strong muscular foot on the underside of their
body which allows it to suction itself onto the rock to prevent slipping or falling from the rock.
This limits the movements of where the C denticulata can travel as they cannot move in large
distances. This means when it comes to feeding the C denticulata doesn t travel very far. They are
algae grazers, which graze when the tide is in by scraping the algae off

became so delighted when I say all of them. During the orientation, I was able to sign up for some
pleasant clubs that I would do when I started school.
After the orientation was over I got ready for the school year. Then two weeks later, my first day of
high school had finally began. I was able to make plenty of new friends. I also had some nice
classes like my speech and debate class. In this class we would go to other schools to compete
against each other to see which one of us would be a more advanced debater. One of the best parts
was breakfast and lunch time because I would be able to talk with all of my

Intracellular Fluid Essay
Intracellular fluid (ICF) is liquid found inside the cell (separated into compartments by
membranes) and extracellular fluid (ECF) is all of the body fluid outside of the cell. ECF contains
interstitial fluid (found in the lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, glomerular filtrate of the kidneys) and
plasma (found in the circulatory system). Sodium accounts for 90% of the ECF cations (positively
charged ions) and regulates osmotic forces, therefore, regulates water balance (McCance Huether,
2014, p. 108). Regulation of sodium balance is facilitated by aldosterone, which is triggered by the
renin angiotensin mechanism. Potassium is the major intracellular electrolyte found in most body
fluids and is maintained by renal excretion of K+ absorbed from... Show more content on

How would you determine whether she has cystitis or pyelonephritis?
a.Differentiate between cystitis and pyelonephritis. Consider history, possible presenting
symptoms, and urinalysis results.
Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder (lower urinary tract) and is the most common site of UTI
(McCance Huether, 2014, p. 1350). E. coli is the most common pathogen of UTI s and occurs more
common in women due to the shorter urethra and the proximity of the urethra to the vagina and
anus. The patient can be asymptomatic or experience urinary frequency, urgency, and discomfort.
The presence of white cells in the urinalysis is indicative of infection and the urine culture can
identify the bacteria.
Pyelonephritis is a type of urinary tract infection that affects one or both kidneys (upper urinary
tract) ( Pyelonephritis, 2012, p. 1). Bacteria (commonly caused by E. coli.) enters from the lower
urinary tract and can lead to renal scarring. Symptoms of pyelonephritis may include a fever with
pain in the lower back or abdominal area. Hematuria and vomiting can also occur. Diagnosis
includes blood test and urinalysis with culture, but may involve imaging studies to detect renal
abnormalities or

The Postcolonial Theory Of Third Cinema
One of the most popular and important film theory s that it still around today is Third Cinema
also known as the Postcolonial theory. Third cinema emerged in early 1960 through the 1970 s in
Latin America and was seen as a militant tool leading to freedom and a revolution. Third cinema
was not only about films rather it was about literature and artwork as well as political manifestos
written by filmmakers. The whole idea behind third cinema is that it refers to the colonized, neo
colonized, or decolonized nations and minorities of the world whose economic and political
structures have been shaped and deformed within the colonial process (Stam, 93). Third Cinema
had emerged mainly from the Cuban Revolution during the 1950 s but was influenced by different
movements including Italian neorealism and direct cinema and different tools and techniques that
the world had not been exposed to yet. Third cinema rejected the normal conventions of
Hollywood as these films were being produced in second and third worldcountries. For these
filmmakers, it was all about guerilla filmmaking, which meant that they would often be creating
low budget films using a handheld camera with smaller filmcrews than usual. These films would
often use montage as well as different combinations of sounds and images in order to get
audiences to think about the film and what messages it was trying to relay. Since it was all about
politics, these filmmakers were not aiming to get rich or gain fame

Employee Performanc Raisins
Edible Nirvana
Get back to work Mr. Cheeto, cried Mr. Twinkie, the perennial Executive Director of
Nourishment LLC and Mrs. Raisin, you ve been doing great like always. Mrs. Raisin has been
working the same 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. job, five days a week, for the past sixteen years with
little to no recognition. Frankly, she has matured since she first joined this firm, now being one
of the most senior employees. Not only does she have the dedication, she is a diligent worker as
well. Raising three young grapes and being a role model at the same time is extremely stressful
and a single raisin. What really irritates Mrs. Raisin is that this Mr. Cheeto, barely out of
university for two years, has already ascended to the board committee. Mr. Cheeto has nothing to
offer, he sleeps for half his shift and knows next to nothing on the subject. Though, he is well liked
in the firm thanks to his immature personality, it really brings out the joy in the office. In a week s
time, Mr. Twinkie and branches of the firm will be performing an Employee... Show more content

A majority of people cannot stand eating one raisin, try giving them a $2.42 Sun Maid 100 Raisin
Box compared to the variety of Cheetos, Edible Nirvana. Raisins are matured grapes, dried up by
the sun s rays. Let s face the facts, raisins don t sell as well as Cheetos because they are all natural
and that s the issue right there. The consumer hates natural tastes, we have consumables like
Sweetened Ice Tea, Pre Sugared Honey because the natural tasteis not very pleasing. Can I deny
that I am a fan of these artificial tastes? I have succumbed to what the industries have proposed as
seemingly natural and it is putting organic farmers out of business. Gladly, I have woken up to
why my mother always told me to not eat too much junk food. None of it is real and all it is really

Juice Detox Juice
There are times in life when we will feel health problems that we have no idea how to properly
treat them. For most of these minor occurrences we take a trip down to the local drug store and
buy whatever cream or pill they have, being marketed to people with our problem. Sometimes you
might feel some relief the next day and think that the product has worked. When in fact actually
the pills and creams are not really solving anything. All that the medications do is kill the yeast
cells, which provide momentary relief from the discomfort of a yeast infection. It helps first to
understand the root of the problem. When your body is producing yeast it is safe to assume that
you are out of natural balance. What you have to do to make sure that your... Show more content on

The 7 day Detox diet is no different. This radically change in eating will flood your body with
more nutrients than it knows what to do with. This will cause your body s immune system to
skyrocket and will allow your body to heal some of the wounds that it has accumulated through
less than adequate eating. Today stress causes a lot of the health problems that people deal with
in their day to day life. For instance, there are rashes that can be cause by stress alone. This
shows that stress has a real biological effect on people who are experiencing. Your body is also
known for accumulating toxins when it is stressed because it causes people with normal
appetite to binge eat in an effort to deal with the stress. To do the 7 day Detox means that you are
ridding your body of these life effecting toxins. It s a chance to start over anew. It is not that
difficult to accomplish either. The diet requires you to eat primarily fruits and vegetables. Fresh
organic produce is the best but if you can only afford the canned variety then that will be just
fine. There is some big foods that are completely outlawed on the 7 day detox diet. These include
soda, chocolate, meat, coffee, and eggs. Also you should stop eating all processed food; processed
food will often come in box and have a list of big names under its

The Game At 3 O Clock
The game was supposed to start at 3 o clock, but it never started right on time anyway. I asked my
dad to look at his phone to see what time it was, 2:55 right on the dot. I got out of the pool and
put on a towel to run inside. I sat right in front of the TV on the couch. My parents walked in
after me. Honey don t sit on the couch or else you ll get it wet , said my mom, I really wasn t
listening, AVERY, get off the couch now!
I moved down to the floor and took the remote looking through the channels to find the game. I
found it right when the announcers were still talking about the starting players. They had just
said my favorite player, Alex Morgan, was on the starting line up. My mom brought over a bowl
of popcorn to eat, even though I wasn t supposed to eat it because of my braces, but no one would
know. The game started and I sat up on my knees so intrigued with the game in the first four
seconds. Within a few minutes the US had scored and I was going crazy.
I screamed right in my dad s face, The third minute. They scored in the third minute. Did you see
Lloyd coming in there Japan? NO you didn t, no you didn t! Oh this is going to be a very
interesting game, isn t it! , my dad said calmly looking at my mom, who had been sitting on the
floor.
I was on the ground again trying not to get the couch wet, because that would be frowned upon by
my mother. I was now sitting criss crossed applesauce when the US got back down to Japan s side
of the field. I stood up

Diamond Mines in South Africa
South Africa s Culture, Government, Economy, and religion of South Africa
(Shemika McWilliams)
Diamond mining in South Africa is the main force behind the country s economy but this has not
always been the case. South Africa s large diamond mining industry started with the discovery of
a large diamond on 1886 by a young shepherd named Erasmus Jacobs. The discovery brought in
many miners from different parts of the world to South Africa and this lead to the discovery of a
bigger diamond in 1871. This created a diamond rush in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the 1860s, the Dutch Reformed Church, the Church of England, and the Roman Catholic
Church began mission work (South Africa: Missionaries: Nineteeth Century, 2004). Thirty years
later, diverse groups such as the Salvation Army and African American missions of the African
Methodist Episcopal Church and the National Baptist Convention worked in South Africa. African
Christians, often independent of missionaries, made their religion an important part of their
identity. The beginning of the twentieth century, over 30 missionary societies worked in South
Africa. Majority of the people were working to promote Christianity throughout Africa. Missionary
influence was profound, resistant to easy categorization, and continually negotiated and shaped by
African Christians. This movement changed the country s culture but had little to do influence on
the political environment in the country.
Political Environment
The politics in Africa are very different from the politics that we follow here in the United States.
The history of Africa politics is complex. When Egyptian politics looked toward the
Mediterranean; the empire was deeply African with several generations of kings and important
civilizations, such as the Meroe, coming from the highlands of Nubia (World History, Africa in,
2004). Throughout the decades much of West Africa became part of a much larger African
European network of trade in textiles, slaves, and precious commodities with politics

Archbishop Clune Case Study
In December 1921 the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Clune, took over the administration of the
Geraldton diocese on the death of Bishop Kelly, Father Hawes long time supporter and friend.
Already familiar with Father Hawes architecture through his presence at the opening of the
Cathedral of St Francis Xavier Cathedral in 1918, Archbishop Clune initially asked Father Hawes
to draw up designs to extend and enlarge the existing small Perth Cathedral. Father Hawes set about
this task enthusiastically and submitted a folio of plans to Archbishop Clune in July 1922.
Archbishop Clune, meanwhile, was under pressure from some of his clergy and an influential Perth
architect, Michael Cavanagh, to build a completely new cathedral using Donnybrook stone. The
Archbishop, nervous that the funds to build a new cathedral could not be raised, instructed Father
Hawes to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further correspondence between him and the Archbishop led to Father Hawes developing plans for
a completely new cathedral in a Gothic style, which seems out of character with his architectural
design beliefs of simplicity, originality and truthfulness to materials.
He completed the designs for the new Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in early 1923. In
May he travelled through France and Spain making a study of Romanesque cathedrals and, while in
Rome in June, showed the design of the Cathedral and his sketch of his proposed new church at
Mullewa to Pope Pius XI, who blessed the work. Father Hawes completed his final design for
Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in August.
In early October, the new Bishop of Geraldton, Bishop Richard Ryan, arrived in Perth and dined
with Archbishop Clune on his way to Geraldton. On being shown Father Hawes design for the new
Perth Cathedral, Bishop Ryan suggested it looked more like a Salvation Army

The Supply And Demand Market Essay
The supply and demand market is a way for companies to control cost and work with their
suppliers to create a supply line that provides the materials for their products; to produce their
products at a cost that will allow them to price and sell it to consumers and make a profit. In the
supply and demand market Honda started out using the fixed factory model that has allowed Honda
to go from importing motorbikes to the United States to making automobiles in the United States as
well as some of their other products. Hondas supply line started in Japan and has expanded all over
the world in almost every country in the world by making the products they sell in their different
factories. Honda motor company operates 31 different facilities in the United States alone to
manufacture their products using domestic and globally sourced parts. (world.honda.com/news
/2015) With Honda expanding their supply chain in different countries they have been able to cut
down on the importing and exporting of their products made by the Honda Motor Company. With
Honda being started in 1964 they have transitioned from not only making motorbikes to making
automobiles, all terrain vehicles, jets, lawn equipment, motor sports, and power equipment and with
the increase of products their supply chain has changed. Honda started out in Japan with one factory
making motorbikes then it progressed into a company that made automobiles in the same factory in
the supply and demandmarket Honda has gone from

Snow s Three Stages
Snow, one of Earth s most beautiful, and ugliest, creations, is a wintertime topic that brings with
it mixed emotions, opinions and heated debates. Some people love it, others not so much. It can
bring joy, happiness and laughter, but can bring just as much destruction, danger and misery.
When it first touches the ground, fresh, pure, unaffected, it s like a lovely white blanket that
covers our world. However, once it becomes black, mushy and hard, we get tired of seeing it,
hoping the sun melts it all away as soon as possible. It s a cycle which repeats itself over and
over again. It s sort of like a relationship, which, in my mind, consists of three stages. First there s

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Photovoltaic Basics Photovoltaic basics The sun is the main source of energy on earth, providing the planet with radiant energy which is transformed once it reaches every substance on the planet into a different kind of energy, making the wind blow, the seas flow and all atoms move. The energy in the Wind and sea have been used for centuries and nowadays thanks to the photovoltaic effect, a part of this vast energy can be harnessed and directly transformed into a more usable way of energy, electricity. The photovoltaic effect can be vaguely explained as the creation of electric potential and current once light is absorbed in a semiconductor material. A semiconductor material, can be doped with other elements in order to force the creation of a certain quantity of free carriers, electrons in n type and holes in p type semiconductors. When put together, this two differently doped materials form the PN junction where, through the diffusion of carriers, (i.e. electrons diffuse to the p type semiconductor and holes to the n type), an area called depletion zone is generated. Then, absorption of a photons in a semiconductor, generates more electron hole pairs increasing the potential in the device and by connecting the separated regions by means of a conductor, the free carriers can flow through a circuit obtaining ... • 4. Blue-1 Reaction Lab Report The Blue Dye #1 reaction can be determined by utilizing Beer s Law, and First and Second order integration. Beer s law is first used to calculate the molar absorptivity of the Blue #1 dye. Beer s law states that the concentration of the Blue #1 Dye is directly proportional to the absorbance of the solution. The molar absorptivity, e was calculated to be 9.63x104 and will be used when calculating the activation energy of the reaction. First, the rate order for both the Blue #1 and Bleach needed to be determined. After the creation of Manitoba the Europeans believed they were superior to the Metis and many laws were made to just benefit themselves. The mГ©tis had tried to obtain scrips which were basically a piece of paper that could be used to certify possession of land or be exchanged for money. The land scrips would allow the Metis to either claim 160 acres of land or sell it for $160. You could also get money scrips that were either $160 or $240. • 8. Goldfish Lab Report In this experiment, an oxygen measuring probe was attached to an oxygen chamber in order to quantify oxygen consumption rate, which served as a substitute measure for metabolic rate. The oxygen measuring probe provided real time measurements of dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration present in the chamber water. The oxygen chamber was sealed to create a closed system so that over time, the oxygen levels would decrease as the goldfish respired and consumed the oxygen present in the water. The software LoggerLite was used to record real time DO concentration measurements. The procedure for this experiment followed the steps as shown in the flow chart (Figure 1) and will be expanded upon here. The oxygen measuring probe in the test chamber was first turned on and required 10 minutes to warm up. During this time, two empty containers had 200mL of fish water added to them and then each was weighed using a scale that was tared to zero before use. Two pairs of goldfish were then collected from the large tank #1 in the lab room using the fish net provided, and one pair was placed in each container. Then, the containers were reweighed separately and the original weights were subtracted from the new weights in order to determine each pair of goldfish s weight. Two trials were conducted and in each trial, each goldfish pair was subjected to two conditions, first a control condition where no factors were introduced, followed by an experimental condition where they were exposed ... This becomes immediately evident to Charlotte when she gets to Dupont. After being at Dupont for only a few weeks, Charlotte is kicked out of her room at 2:00 in the morning by her roommate, Beverly because Beverly wants to have sex with a boy she met; in other words, Charlotte is sexiled. Broadly speaking, Burton Roberts (1986) states that a group of words used as a component in the structure of sentences is called a phrase. According to George Yule (2006), a noun phrase is a phrase in which the main word is a noun functioning as a subject or an object. We can understand the definition of noun phrases more clearly with the following examples : E.g. The man upstair Five little ducks The beautiful vase on the table One of the most significant factors that we should pay attention to noun phrases is that they cannot stand alone as sentences. While the clauses have a verb that can change depending on the time reference , the noun phrases do not. Also, some noun phrases do not include subjects either. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Andrea Del Castagno Analysis During the Renaissance, a religious view of the world made a huge impact on art. The biblical character David became an emerging popular subject among artists. Although David s story is quite simple, artists faced challenges creating a visual representation of the young hero. The two main obstacles were discovering how to portray the body committing the act, and also rendering the spirit of the act itself. Among the artists who tried to recreate this story visually were Andrea del Castagno and Andrea del Verrocchio. Castagno introduced his form of the Davidthrough painting. The piece was entitled David with the Head of Goliath, and was originally used as a parade shield. It differed from common parade shields, which were decorated with simple coat and arms, due to its rare painted scene. The shield was believed to have been carried in civic or religious processions or have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His David is depicted in a confident pose after the battle with Goliath is already won, while Castagno depicts David in both the moment of fighting the giant and after defeating him. In the Old Testament, David is a young shepherd; he uses the motive that if God protects his sheep than God too will protect him before going into battle with Goliath. By painting this imagery on a shield, one can conclude that God is David s shield (David). Verrocchio s work lacks this deeper analytical meaning. Andrea del Castagno s David with Head of Goliath stands 45 1/2 x 30 1/8 inches wide at the top and 45 1/2 x 16 inches wide at the bottom. The work was made of tempera on leather on wood. Since that date, historians have argued on the attitudes surrounding this case that gained global attention throughout the 1920s. Immediately following the execution of these Italian anarchists, the liberal public expressed outrage and contempt for the verdict. Felix Frankfurter, in 1927 wrote a piece entitled, The Case of Sacco and Vanzetti, which dug into the injustices of the court. Frankfurter was appalled at how the justice system conducted the hearing. It is suggested that the judicial system jumped to conclusions, with a complete disregard for any evidence. Similarly. E.M. Intake Manifold Of Throttle Body Injection Intake manifold of throttle body injection/carburetion engines are designed to provide optimum flow of air fuel mixture and to reduce the chances of the vaporized fuel re condensation. Intake manifold runners on these engines have a few bends as possible. And it is one of the primary components regarding the performance of an internal combustion engine. An intake manifold is usually made up of a plenum, throttle body connected to the plenum and runners depending on the number of cylinders, which leads to the engine cylinder. In port/direct injection SI engines (also CI engines), the manifold is designed for air flow only, so, these can have larger runners and sharp bends as these do not have to keep fuel suspended in air. Exhaust manifold is a part of diesel engines and is required to collect the exhaust gases from the cylinder head and send it to the exhaust system. This is found in between the engine and exhaust system. Exhaust manifold plays an important role in the performance of automobile. Particularly, the efficiencies of emission and the fuel consumption are nearly related to the exhaust manifold. The manifold may be a casting or made of relatively light material depends on working environment. The purpose of the exhaust manifold is to collect and carry these exhaust gases away from the engine cylinders with a minimum of back pressure, without affecting engine performance. Book Of Exodus Comparison Essay The Book of Exodus, known in Hebrew as Sefer Shemot ( Book of Names ), is the second book of the Torah (Pentateuch) and the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Exodus recounts the events of the Egyptian enslavement of the Israelites, their subsequent liberation by their god, Yahweh, and the Deliverer, Moses, and their journey to the Promised Land. To facilitate the comprehension of Exodus or to make hundreds of millions of dollars film studios have produced many film adaptations of Exodus two in the case of Cecil B. DeMille. Blackberry-Picking Analysis Blackberry Picking In Blackberry Picking by Seamus Heaney, the speaker uses anatomical imagery to reveal the horror of losing the blackberries and enjambment to convey the rushed picking to avoid rot, and both contribute to the overall theme of false hope. The speaker s use of anatomical imagery emphasizes the horrific feelings that he holds towards his experience of losing the blackberries to rot. While describing the blackberries, the speaker states, summer s blood was in it using anatomical imagery of blood to reveal his feelings towards the blackberries. Blood brings to mind pain and death, and in the context of the blackberries, shows the speaker s negative response to picking the berries. Additionally, by claiming that the blood of summer was in the blackberry, the speaker implies the death of summer by way of eating the blackberries. This imagery is dark and gory, and emphasizes the speaker s disgust and almost hatred toward the berries and what they represent. The speaker goes on to say that the fruit fermented, the sweet flesh would turn sour, using anatomical diction to emphasize the rotting of the blackberries. This line utilizes a mix of juxtaposition and imagery to reveal the decay of the berries. By stating the flesh is sweet, the speaker implies that he enjoys the berries themselves, as sweet is typically seen as a positive term. Upon discovery, Chris corpse became a symbol of misguided passions and misinterpreted values and inspired many to explore and document his story of demise. In Jon Krakauer s Into the Wild, the story of Chris, attempting to achieve ultimate freedom and independence is told. On this journey, it is evident that Chris McCandless shunning of society was unjustified because he took the transcendentalist ideas expressed in Henry David Thoreau s Walden and Ralph Waldo Emerson s Self Reliance and radically misinterpreted them. Because of his analytical error, McCandless was unable to attain freedom and independence, despite his support for these values; egotism overcame individualism, and McCandless hubris and extreme risk taking resulted in foolish isolationism and rendered his journey useless. One of the central tenets of transcendentalism is the aspiration of freedom and the desire to pursue a life of individualism. This is described in Self Reliance, where Ralph Waldo Emerson states ... that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide... (1). Both envy and imitation are parts of collectivism, and as such, cannot be well integrated into the philosophy of transcendentalism, which has a deep contempt for society. • 40. The Violence Of A Multi Ethnic Society Samuel Huntington famously stated that the fiercest clashes have become battles between civilizations, according to him these clashes are neither ideological or economic, but rather cultural. Huntington couldn t have been more mistaken. In reality, the modern world has become plagued with an increasing presence of intra state wars as modern conflict has become synonymous with clashes between individuals, groups, and communities that differ very little . Freud attempted to explain this perplexing occurrence as a narcissism of minor differences by stating that group solidarity requires the existence of an Other , a minority, which through its suppression validates the identity of the majority. According to this logic, all communities despite their homogeneity must seek a minority within themselves in order to validate their existence. Bosnia s cosmopolitanism prior to the Yugoslavian War provides us with a vivid example that this narcissism is a superficial explanation as to why fraternal conflict occurs. Prior to the war, Bosnia was not only the most ethnically integrated Yugoslavian republic, it was the poster child of a multi ethnic society in which various ethnicities not only coexisted but rather intermingled. This peaceful coexistence was disrupted by Slobodan Milosevic, Serbias president, who used Yugoslavias economic and political crisis of 1988 in his favour by essentializing the crisis along the lines of ethnic national identity. Zonation is when an environmental factor changes, the distribution of species changes which results in the species being present in zones or bands. In this report I am going to talk about the Cellana denticulata limpet, the Cellana radian and the relationship between the two species. Species 1: Description: The Cellana denticulata is a limpet which belongs in the true limpet family. A true limpet is a small marine gastropod mollusc. The C denticulata is a mollusc due to it having a soft body with a hard shell. The shell of the C denticulata is a lot more elevated and bigger than other species of limpets with 20 30 strong ribs granulose and scaly. The colour of the shell can vary from a grey to brown colour. On the inside of the shell the C denticulata is a bluish whitey colour with darker streaks where the undersides of the ribs are. The C denticulata has a strong muscular foot on the underside of their body which allows it to suction itself onto the rock to prevent slipping or falling from the rock. This limits the movements of where the C denticulata can travel as they cannot move in large distances. This means when it comes to feeding the C denticulata doesn t travel very far. Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder (lower urinary tract) and is the most common site of UTI (McCance Huether, 2014, p. 1350). E. coli is the most common pathogen of UTI s and occurs more common in women due to the shorter urethra and the proximity of the urethra to the vagina and anus. The patient can be asymptomatic or experience urinary frequency, urgency, and discomfort. The presence of white cells in the urinalysis is indicative of infection and the urine culture can identify the bacteria. Pyelonephritis is a type of urinary tract infection that affects one or both kidneys (upper urinary tract) ( Pyelonephritis, 2012, p. 1). Bacteria (commonly caused by E. coli.) enters from the lower urinary tract and can lead to renal scarring. Symptoms of pyelonephritis may include a fever with pain in the lower back or abdominal area. Hematuria and vomiting can also occur. • 44. The Postcolonial Theory Of Third Cinema One of the most popular and important film theory s that it still around today is Third Cinema also known as the Postcolonial theory. Third cinema emerged in early 1960 through the 1970 s in Latin America and was seen as a militant tool leading to freedom and a revolution. Third cinema was not only about films rather it was about literature and artwork as well as political manifestos written by filmmakers. The whole idea behind third cinema is that it refers to the colonized, neo colonized, or decolonized nations and minorities of the world whose economic and political structures have been shaped and deformed within the colonial process (Stam, 93). Third Cinema had emerged mainly from the Cuban Revolution during the 1950 s but was influenced by different movements including Italian neorealism and direct cinema and different tools and techniques that the world had not been exposed to yet. Third cinema rejected the normal conventions of Hollywood as these films were being produced in second and third worldcountries. For these filmmakers, it was all about guerilla filmmaking, which meant that they would often be creating low budget films using a handheld camera with smaller filmcrews than usual. These films would often use montage as well as different combinations of sounds and images in order to get audiences to think about the film and what messages it was trying to relay. Since it was all about politics, these filmmakers were not aiming to get rich or gain fame ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The consumer hates natural tastes, we have consumables like Sweetened Ice Tea, Pre Sugared Honey because the natural tasteis not very pleasing. Can I deny that I am a fan of these artificial tastes? I have succumbed to what the industries have proposed as seemingly natural and it is putting organic farmers out of business. I asked my dad to look at his phone to see what time it was, 2:55 right on the dot. I got out of the pool and put on a towel to run inside. I sat right in front of the TV on the couch. My parents walked in after me. Honey don t sit on the couch or else you ll get it wet , said my mom, I really wasn t listening, AVERY, get off the couch now! I moved down to the floor and took the remote looking through the channels to find the game. I found it right when the announcers were still talking about the starting players. They had just said my favorite player, Alex Morgan, was on the starting line up. My mom brought over a bowl of popcorn to eat, even though I wasn t supposed to eat it because of my braces, but no one would know. The game started and I sat up on my knees so intrigued with the game in the first four seconds. Within a few minutes the US had scored and I was going crazy. I screamed right in my dad s face, The third minute. They scored in the third minute. Did you see Lloyd coming in there Japan? NO you didn t, no you didn t! Oh this is going to be a very interesting game, isn t it! , my dad said calmly looking at my mom, who had been sitting on the floor. By the 1860s, the Dutch Reformed Church, the Church of England, and the Roman Catholic Church began mission work (South Africa: Missionaries: Nineteeth Century, 2004). Thirty years later, diverse groups such as the Salvation Army and African American missions of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the National Baptist Convention worked in South Africa. African Christians, often independent of missionaries, made their religion an important part of their identity. The beginning of the twentieth century, over 30 missionary societies worked in South Africa. Majority of the people were working to promote Christianity throughout Africa. Missionary influence was profound, resistant to easy categorization, and continually negotiated and shaped by African Christians. This movement changed the country s culture but had little to do influence on the political environment in the country. Political Environment The politics in Africa are very different from the politics that we follow here in the United States. The history of Africa politics is complex. When Egyptian politics looked toward the Mediterranean; the empire was deeply African with several generations of kings and important civilizations, such as the Meroe, coming from the highlands of Nubia (World History, Africa in, 2004). Archbishop Clune Case Study In December 1921 the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Clune, took over the administration of the Geraldton diocese on the death of Bishop Kelly, Father Hawes long time supporter and friend. Already familiar with Father Hawes architecture through his presence at the opening of the Cathedral of St Francis Xavier Cathedral in 1918, Archbishop Clune initially asked Father Hawes to draw up designs to extend and enlarge the existing small Perth Cathedral. Father Hawes set about this task enthusiastically and submitted a folio of plans to Archbishop Clune in July 1922. Archbishop Clune, meanwhile, was under pressure from some of his clergy and an influential Perth architect, Michael Cavanagh, to build a completely new cathedral using Donnybrook stone. Further correspondence between him and the Archbishop led to Father Hawes developing plans for a completely new cathedral in a Gothic style, which seems out of character with his architectural design beliefs of simplicity, originality and truthfulness to materials. In May he travelled through France and Spain making a study of Romanesque cathedrals and, while in Rome in June, showed the design of the Cathedral and his sketch of his proposed new church at Mullewa to Pope Pius XI, who blessed the work. Father Hawes completed his final design for Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in August. Some people love it, others not so much. It can bring joy, happiness and laughter, but can bring just as much destruction, danger and misery. When it first touches the ground, fresh, pure, unaffected, it s like a lovely white blanket that covers our world. However, once it becomes black, mushy and hard, we get tired of seeing it, hoping the sun melts it all away as soon as possible. It s a cycle which repeats itself over and over again.
