Essay on Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera he is a Mexican painter who produced murals on social themes and who ranks one of
my countries greatest artists. He was born in Guanajuato and educated at the San Carlos Academy of
Fine Arts , in
Mexico City. he studied painting in Europe between 1907 and 1921, becoming familiar with the
innovative cubist forms of the French painter Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso. In 1921 Riviera
returned to
Mexico and took a prominent part in revival of mural painting initiated by artists and sponsored by the
government . Believing that art should serve the working people and be readily available to them , he
concentrated on painting large frescoes, concerning the history and social problems of Mexico, on the

Rivera was an active member of the Mexican Communist party , and he painted murals in the National
Palace , Mexico City 1929, and the Palace Cortes ,
Cuernavaca1930 .In 1929 Riviera married Frida Karlo who is now considered to have been a leading
20th century Mexican painter.
I think what I like the most the murals that he painted I liked how he drew the Indian people their
faces the scenery , the palace and his style. Riviera s murals are rich in archeological detail and
painted in sharply outlined , linear style. Most of them have clear , three dimensional figures in a
shallow space , although a deep spatial extension of landscape appears at the top of some works .
Rivera also executed easel paintings and portraits and designed and built his
Mexico City house , the Anahuacalli, which is now a museum housing the extensive collection of pre
Columbian art that he left for Mexican people . I liked the water colors that Riviera used for the
murals and the way he painted the pictures .I imagine take him a long time to draw the murals and
paint them and drawing the faces . I have seen his murals in the walls in Mexico City and I really
think is very hard to draw the murals and I also have seen in the museums alot of pictures that Riviera
has drawn and I was really impressed with all his work.
The thing that I liked the most were the murals that he drew and the painting and how he drew the
faces of the people and the different colors of skins of the

Minority laborers often have to work in unfair working conditions, this can consist of poor wages, or
poor working conditions and in many situations a boss whom takes advantage of the person s minority
status. For instance, if the worker is someone who does not have citizenship status in the country they
are working in they could be under the constant threat of deportation. This was the case of one migrant
working in Dubai who says: To get here, they tell you Dubai is heaven. Then you get here and realize

compensation scheme, where workers struggle for recognition and deservedness creates an
environment of competitive, even sabotaging, individualism that often cuts along the cleavages of
race, gender, and class. Whereas, in factory and other gendered labor settings women and minority

The most conflicts that are in the book are after the attack. Before the attack everyone was fine, but
after conflicts will arise because people are now having to deal with the effects of the attack. for
example :all the injured and hurt , the destruction it caused and just trying to save yourself and survive
from the blast. The main conflict in this book is the main characters struggling against the antagonist,
which would be the bomb or explosion. The conflict caused everyone s lives to change quickly. they

Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon s Journey into the Afterlife

Rhetoric Composition English 1302

Abstract
Eben Alexander is a neurosurgeon who believed for many years that when people explained their near
death experiences it was just the hard wiring of the brain. Of course ,though, he had refined medical
training. It wasn t until Alexander had caught a rare disease which caused him to fall into a coma and
had a near death experience himself. Alexander talks about his journey towards the afterlife in his
book which leads to many questions to everyone as to whether it really happened or if it was all just a
hallucination. The paper talks about how he recounts what happened during his experience ... Show

He describes her as a beautiful girl with high cheek bones and deep blue eyes...[g]olden brown tresses
framed her lovely face (Alexander, 2012, p. 40). She was also riding on a butterfly wing, as he recalls,
and it just seems to be a way a novelist would describe an angel guiding someone lost in heaven.
There was nothing to make it sound different or stand out. It makes it hard to believe it s Alexander
trying to prove heaven is real rather than just writing a story.
Later on in the book Alexander talks about the core where he saw [b]ig, puffy, pink white [clouds] that
showed up sharply against the deep blue black sky (p. 45). Everyone who thinks of heaven, thinks of
clouds. It is not uncommon for anyone to describe heaven that way. It is very stereotypical and made it
no different that anyone else s image of heaven. A sound, huge and booming like a glorious chant,
came from above, and I wondered if the winged beings were producing it (Alexander, 2012, p. 45) is
also another stereotype of what people say you d hear when you re in heaven. Again, not enough
proof.
There was a section where he mentions how he came into contact with God and received knowledge
that was not taught but stored. It seemed that everyone who might have gone to church had heard the
knowledge of what God was giving to Alexander. Maybe if he had gone more into depth and detail to
what the knowledge he stored from his

Final Paper Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world. No one is sure who invented the sport
but it was first implemented as a real sport in the first Olympics in the year 776 B.C. The origins of
wrestling can be traced back 15,000 years through cave drawings in France; Babylonian and Egyptian
relief s show wrestlers using most of the holds known to the present day sport. More modern day
wrestling has weight classes implemented so participants will wrestle people that weigh the same as
them, thus starting a trend known in the wrestling world as cutting weight. Weight classes in wrestling
were implemented in order to insure the optimal amount of fairness for each wrestler before they step
out onto the mat. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modified wrestling is the same way, no set weight classes just the roughly the same size. But then
high school wrestling started, there are set weight classes and they are extremely strict on how it need
to be done. In the beginning of each season there is a process that is known as weight certification.
What you have to do for that is pass the hydration test, get your body fat checked and then weigh in.
After all that is done your body fat and weight are put into a formula that checks to see what the
lowest possible weight class you can wrestle is with having a healthy amount of body fat. They
hydration test is extremely important, if you are not hydrated you cannot certify until a later date. You
have to pee in a cup and then the instructor puts the pee into a Refractometer and it measures the
absolute weight of the urine and if it s over 1.025 you pass, anything less you fail and have to retry.
They do this test so kids can t suck ridicules amounts of weight, this makes the sport a little bit more
healthy I suppose. This new certification process was implanted in 2006 to help insure the safety of
the participants (Funk). Every year in high school I wrestled in the 119 weight class. My freshman
year my coach/team wanted me to wrestle 103 but I did not pass the hydration test and I just couldn t
make the weight. It was an unrealistic weight class and there was just no way to do

Essay On Family Law
The Impact of Departure From The EU Will Impact Family Law
While the country is still reeling from the EU referendum, we need to take a much closer look at how
departure from the EU will impact family law in England and Wales.
Family law is not a stranger in the sense of taking steps to move away from the EU which will take
quite a bit of unraveling from the EU legislation. The same can be said regarding many of our other
laws. Without a doubt, this will take quite some time and the process will probably drag out for quite
some time. Although the long term impacts of Brexit, or departure of the UK from the EU, may not be
fully felt for quite awhile, there are many consequences in regard to future divorces from the EU.
Nigel Shepherd, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bear in mind, in the absence of this important EU legislation, this will lead to even more uncertainty
regarding who has the jurisdiction to hear the case. It has been iterated that the courts will have to fill
the vacuum with something that would be similar to Brussels II in order to address the situation.
Adding to this, the Brussels IIa allows an order that was created in England to recognised and is
enforceable in other jurisdictions. Orders that are commonly affected by the EU legislation includes
child custody, other arrangements and matrimonial orders that need to be addressed by the new
legislation in order to stay enforceable across the borders.
Keeping agreements made between multinational couples in a divorce are governed by Brussels IIa
which allows for a more uncomplicated approach for enforcement across different jurisdictions. The
enforcement of these agreements will need to be addressed in light of any new legislation and will
have the greatest impact on matrimonial property and who owns what in different countries.
Other Arising Issues:
Although family law is not the leading victim of departure from the EU (or Brexit), there will still be a
great deal of uncertainty leading up to the formal Brexit while negotiations continue with the EU and
this could take a number of years.
In a time of great uncertainty for couples divorcing, there will be even greater anxieties and fears that
will arise. On a

Application Of The Tablet Industry Essay
2. Enter to the tablet industry. In 1987, Apple Computer has started their research and project on the
new portable tablet. The tablet industry was gradually forming. In 1993, Apple released Apple Newton
that is the first model in the market. After that, more and more big companies have followed it into the
market, they began to develop the technologies and tablet operating systems. In 2010, Apple
introduced the first iPad, the market was scaling and maturing till now. Through the universal
technology of touchscreen, the tablet becomes a trend and create the new customer behavior on using
the portable device. More and more brands develop the wide range of the tablet. These days, this
mature industry owns the large competitors and capital, even the just few companies obtain most of
the market share. However, produce condition is reducing, the cheapest tablet in India just cost $20. It
is not easy for the new entrants to establish its tablet product.
First, the capital issue is a big barrier to enter the market. Although the manufacturing cost is
declining, but the company still need to consider the budgets on RD, marketing, and logistics. Second,
the supplier power is strong in the market. According to the research, the tablet market almost have
100 different brands, but just few manufacturers. Some suppliers are becoming the market players that
is building the own brand and introducing its tablet. Third, the economics of the scale is hard to

Gender Stereotypes In Sesame Street
Many times in our life we take on roles that are based more on myths and on misconceptions than on
fact, for example, gender roles. Since ancient times, it was considered natural for women to give birth
(to boys, if possible) and take care of children and the household. Women were often considered
unqualified for jobs that required physical strength. Men, on the other hand were the breadwinner of
the family. He made sure to provide his family with the basic needs, such as food, clothing, protection
and shelter.
In society, the media is a powerful socializing agent for young children. When children watch TV they
see males act more aggressively than females, and that females are more likely to understand other
people s needs and feelings. All of the children shows in the 1991 Saturday morning TV lineup had
male lead characters. Even on public TV s Sesame Street , most of the Muppet characters were
identified as males. In 2007, there are a few female Muppet characters on Sesame Street , such as Zoë

When children are born, mothers and fathers tend to describe boys as firm, alert, and strong, and girls
as beautiful, pretty and cute. There is no difference between babies except for gender. The different
descriptions reflect the parents attitudes about boys and girls rather than the babies actual
characteristics. These stereotypes find there way into a child s bedroom. A boy s room contains more
vehicles and sports equipment, while a girl s room is more likely to contain dolls. Fathers, in
particular, treat sons and daughters differently. Fathers play more roughly with sons than with
daughters, and usually give them more independence. The different messages that are received by
boys and girls from parents and TV become important to the way they view and behave in

Native American Transcultural Analysis
Transcultural Analysis of Native Americans and End of Life The profession of nursing is more than
caring for the physiological health of an individual. It also includes caring for their spiritual, mental,
and overall wellbeing. Nurses, and all health care workers, need to take into consideration a patient s
cultural preference in order to maintain their spiritual well being. This paper will address Native
American cultural considerations relating to end of life using the Giger and Davidhizar assessment
model as explained in chapter 4 of Sagar (2012) Transcultural Nursing Theory and Models:
Application in Nursing Education Practice, and Administration. It will overview the assessment
model, then apply it to death in the Native American culture as well as present nursing implications.

We Are Moving A Horror Story
It was a normal day but I never knew that it would turn into a horror story.
It was early in the morning I woke up and smelled the fresh summer breeze. My brother Kyle (a wild
little 8 year old), and I ran down stairs to the smell of delicious pancakes, not our normal. While my
mom and Aaron (Aaron the best stepdad ever) was reading in the study. My brother and I chugged
down our milk and shoved the pancakes in our mouths. After my brother and I ate our breakfast we
ran like a stampede into the study. When we reached the study there was two boxes and four suitcases
.
I bet you are wondering what is wrong. my mom asked normally (surprising)
Um yeah. Both Kyle and I said awkwardly
Well Aaron and I have been thinking that we would move Texas. my mom explained
So we are moving ? Kyle and I asked
Well yes, but only Aaron and I are my mom said
Where will we go? I asked (about yelling)
Well Kyle and you can stay here you guys are old enough. explained my mom
Ok love you too and have a great life. my mom said compassionately
That day my mom and Aaron left, that day my brother and I were abandoned. In my head I was
thinking Quinn what do I do now go to the police, keep on living here and get a job, all thoughts raced
through my mind. I had know idea what to do both of our guardians are in Texas long gone. The first

Analysis Of The Poem Daughter Of Persia Essay
Sattareh Farman Farmaian paints a vivid picture of her journey from childhood to her adult life and
her encounters of the Islamic Revolution as they unfold in her home country of Iran. Even when she is
studying or working in the United States, Farman Farmaian is in constant contact with her relatives
back home as well as constantly reading the news of the area as it unfolds, allowing her to give the
best reactions to these events as they impacted her and her family directly. Her close relation to these
events throughout the story Daughter of Persia allows Farman Farmaian to give one of the best
accounts of someone who lived through the Islamic Revolution. Reading through Daughter of Persia I
was most surprised by the sheer amount of feeling that was put in Farman Farmaian s writing. Early
on, when the Farman Farmaian home is being uprooted to make way for a road by order of the Shah,
she, Felt [He] was tearing apart not just our physical home, but our very selves (Farman Farmaian

and her family are becoming exposed to the outside world against their will. However, it is in times
like the Tehran demonstrations when Sattareh is comparing her thoughts to those of the Shah that her
overly involved feeling can be seen. The Shah was, Talking every day to the ambassadors of the
United States and Great Britain, asking them what to do. I wanted to scream with frustration at

Citizen Kane
Citizen Kane is an American drama film released in 1941. It follows the life of the main character,
Charles Foster Kane, and the investigation into rosebud the last word spoken before his death. Kane
was a wealthy newspaper tycoon who lived a reserved lifestyle; he had many possessions but isolated
himself from the public eye wherever possible towards the end of his life. The director s portrayal of
the films main themes are shown in such a way that a Year 12 group of students would be able to

But instead of being happy in the white snow, he is alone in a dark mansion. This is a theme that I
think is one that could be discussed in depth by a year 12 book club.
Another theme portrayed in Citizen Kane is the idea of materialism, and I believe this is a theme that
Year 12 Students would be able to understand and form opinions upon. In the film, Charles Kane lives
in a huge mansion filled with many expensive goods. He was an avid statue collector, a hobby only
the very wealthy could pursue. Charles Kane said in the film, They ve been making statues for some
two thousand years, and I ve only been collecting for five. The director s uses of depth of focus to
exaggerate Kane s many possessions, and in one shot near the end we can see rooms full of crates with
items he never unpacked. In his mansion, the rooms are perceived to be large, with dark shadows cast
all around. Perhaps this is a metaphor to suggest that Kane s excessive amount of materialistic
possessions have now begun to own him. This leads to a link a Year 12 group of students will be able
to make with the modern world today. Advancement of technology has skyrocketed in the past few
decades. The invention of smart phones, tablets and other household technologies have created a
culture in which it is deemed necessary to own as many of these items as possible. It would seem that

Robber Barons Dbq Essay
Throughout the late 19th century, several men such as John Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and
Cornelius Vanderbilt built empires in railroad construction, coal mining, and the oil industry. These
industrial leaders helped the economy flourish and created a leading industrial power in the world.
After a while, critics began to question their power and objective. Critics began to call them robber
barons for their selfish and corrupted techniques. While they took advantage of careless government
regulation and no income tax, they generated huge business that benefited the country. They employed
many people and provided critical goods and services. There is a small margin to justify the
characterizations of a robber baron for the leading industrialists of the late 19th century, but more as
captains of their respective industries. Industrialists and business men were philanthropists at these
times. Andrew Carnegie published an excerpt that largely influenced many wealthy entrepreneurs ...

Personal Choices In Romeo And Juliet
Ovid s PT and Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet can both be a very hard story to read and interpret. The
characters are constantly following things that pop up in their mind and coincidentally happening. I
believe that in both stories Destiny has the greatest impact on multiple things but the main
controversial topic is personal choices. That s why I believe in Ovid s PT and Shakespeare s Romeo
and Juliet, Destiny had a greater impact on characters. One example from Romeo and Juliet is when
Romeo accidentally get invited to a Capulets party where coincidentally Juliet is there. If it was the
personal choice that thrived Romeo would have chosen not to go to the party. These are shown in the
play when Romeo says Romeo suggests as much before he goes to the party where he first meets
Juliet: I fear, too early for my minds misgive some consequences yet hanging in the stars. This shows
that without destiny Romeo would have chosen not to go to the party and would have never been
given the opportunity to meet Juliet. Another example of this in Romeo and Juliet is when Juliet finds
out Romeo is of the house of Montague and the nurse says His name is Romeo, and a Montague, THe

or sports coverage but they don t realize that the media may influence people s beliefs or way of
behaving. The media covers sports in order to provide information to the fans but they also can create
fake news to spark controversy in sports. The world of sports is largely affected by the media as they
are a big topic to talk about throughout all kinds of media. Although the media can provide
information of sports to fans, it can also create positive and negative conditions for the athletes. The
media s portrayal of sports creates rivalries between teams and players which increases
competitiveness, damages professional relationships, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes a rivalry can become intensely heated and it may become violent. In the sport of soccer
one of the most anticipated matches of the year is none other than Real Madrid vs Barcelona. These
two teams are great teams and are the sport s biggest rivals. Before the match is played the media
heats up the rivalry by reporting that the one team is trash talking or undervaluing the other team. At
first it is taken lightly as just a publicity stunt but when the players overhear the news, they get over
competitive. When the match is being played there is always physical fights between players and it
gets out of hand. Not one of these rival matches has passed that a player doesn t get ejected from the
game. In conclusion, this proves how the media plays a large role on the player s mentality when
going into the game and can also cause them to behave in certain ways. It is well known that the
media is capable of spreading false rumors in order to spark controversy or to get more views. The
world of sports can also be affected by the spreading of false rumors. The relationships between
athletes may be torn by the media when they spread fake news regarding players. Sometimes athletes
overhear stories about what other athletes say and they might not agree with what they said so any
kind of respect that they had for each other before is now gone. Take, for example, when news began
to circulate the web that professional

Essay On Sports History
Thanks to a wild and crazy night at Madison Square Garden Saturday night, the UFC has three new
champions. Some tagged UFC 217 as the best card of the year, and the event certainly lived up to the
hype. The card gave people what they want to see out of a high priced event: finishes. Some were
more unexpected than others, but the event was quite a spectacle and now opens a forum of many
questions heading into 2018. In the first of the three title fights, and perhaps the most shocking, Rose
Namajunas claimed the women s strawweight title by making longtime champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Jedrzejczyk, which led to the strikes on the ground that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The win was the seventh in eight fights for the new champ. As for what s next for Dillashaw, he wants

Marie De France Composed A Works Of The French Aquitanian...
From the works of the French Aquitanian and Champagnian troubadours, the framework/ideals of fin
amour grew and spread throughout Europe, reaching the courts of Britain. As the conception of fin
amour became increasingly popular amongst the literature of the aristocracy, writers such as, Andreas
Capellanus wrote of the stages and rules of courtly love. Inspired by this movement in the culture and
literature of court, the poet Marie de France composed a collection of romantic lays. In the Breton
Lays , Marie presents her narratives as a guide for courtly lovers. For, each lay exhibits the problems,
consequences, and rewards that can occur if a lady or knight does/or does not follow the three
principles of fin amour which, as explained by the scholars Jeri S. Guthrie (1976) and F.R.P Akehurst
(1995), include mezura (to have self restraint and patience in love, to have discretion within an affair),
joven (to be spontaneous in love, to woo with grand gestures and gifts), and cortezia (to follow the
moral and societal rules of court).
The first standard of courtly love Marie de France presents within The Breton Lays is mezura.
Through the narratives of Lanval and Yonec , Marie reinforces the importance mezura plays in
maintaining a courtly affair; she shows that being open about a relationship can lead to disaster. In the
story of Lanval , Lanval breaks the principle of mezura by rashly exposing his affair with the amie to
Queen Guinevere. When Guinevere propositions

A Statement Utter By An Educator
It is not a statement utter by an educator in public, but rather it is a belief that is head and expressed
during faculty meetings, in the teachers, lounge, and even with an intimate partner. Can all children
learn? The question stems from our the educators stress level of what education is. in the ideological
word that allowed us the opportunities to pursue this career, never was it mentioned that education
was not what we thought it was. At the end of the day, even at the best schools, we still question, Are
they getting anything out of it? Education is not a lecture, a study guide, and/or a test. Education is the
process to grow and build the whole student into a scholar. Education is used to imbue students with
choice and opportunity, but I fear that we as educators forget that those choices and those
opportunities are not ours to make. All children can learn, and all children can grow and progress. Not
all children will pursue university, but all children will learn if they are given the space that encourage
them to explore their own beliefs and the trust from their teachers to do so with fear of humiliation. In
many facets of education, districts and school leaders have been trying to determine the best practices
for moving and improving their students. NCLB and Common Core have lead way from a testing and
data driven school to a more focused and clean progress machine that hopefully helps individual
students improve and grow. Programs like Response to

Discuss the Significance of Father Figures in Frankenstein
Discuss the significance of father figures in Frankenstein
Frankenstein is a story of science gone dreadfully amiss. Shelley offers depth and meaning to
Frankenstein by presenting (sometimes covertly so) insinuations of failed father and son relationships
littered throughout the story. The most obvious relationship in this story is that between Victor
Frankenstein and his monster, however, there are other characters in the story that present themselves
as father figures. In this essay, I will endeavour to discuss not only the significance of the familial
relationship between Victor Frankenstein and his creature, but that of Victor and Alphonso
Frankenstein, Henry Clerval and his father amongst others.
As Allen notes, the most obvious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compassion and obligation urges Victor to sympathise with the creature and even render him happy
like a father should a son; although even so, he makes no attempt to satisfy the monster s needs
(Claridge, Parent Child Tensions in Frankenstein: The Search for Communion, p.20).
Victor can understand the feelings of compassion or fatherly care that stir within him but he is unable
to sustain those feelings of concern: I compassionated him, and sometimes felt a wish to console him;
but when I looked upon him my feelings were altered to those of horror and hatred (p.121). He
continues to fail his creature, swearing him into exile, then creating another like him before destroying
it (and thus any chance of happiness for the creature), and then hunting him down. Victor is never able
to perceive the monster s tormented psyche leading to his exclamation Let the cursed and hellish
monster drink deep of agony; let him feel the despair that now torments me (p.172). The irony is
Victor s creation already feels this, but Victor s anger and lack of insight causes him to oversee it
(Claridge, Parent Child Tensions in Frankenstein: The Search for Communion, p.20).
There is a slippage of identity between Victor and his creature causing a constant shifting between the
controller and the victim (Morris, The

Social Injustice In To Kill A Mockingbird
Justice has long been considered something that is important to the success of a society. However
justice in itself is something that is hard to achieve. Recently in the news, a story has arisen regarding
a father who was not able to afford a lawyer, due to this he was not able to see his kids for five years.
This is what some people would call political injustice, a case in which someone s given rights have
been ignored. This is very common despite people saying that justice should be given to all people.
Social injustice is a case in which people are affected by less government and law related issues,
including, environmental rights, civil rights, and an access to education. This can be also seen clearly
in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Through the society that Harper Lee portrays in her novel
she suggests that justice is something worth fighting for. Examples of both social and polítical
injustice becomes apparent.
Social injustice is a common theme throughout the novel. This can appear in cases of stereotypes.
Many people in the town of Maycomb have families that are over generalized. Such as the
Cunninghams, who never took anything they can t pay back. (Lee 26). However some of these
stereotypes are very inaccurate. For instance, Walter Cunningham went to dinner with the Finches,
this was something that he could not pay back, but he did it anyway. Or when Scout was able to help
snap Mr.Cunningham back to reality when he was trying to intimidate Atticus.

The Impact of the Violent African-American Stereotype in...
This paper will show that the stereotype of the violent, criminal African American portrayed in rap
music lyrics can become a self fulfilling prophecy for African Americans. Repeated and long term
exposure to this stereotypical behavior in rap music lyrics can lead to increased aggression and this
stereotype becoming accepted as a social norm by African Americans. I intend to support my
argument with examples and analysis of the violent African American stereotype, and by explaining
how the stereotype can become accepted as a social norm.
The violence that permeates rap lyrics should come as no surprise because music is only one of the
numerous forms of media, and violence in the media is often described as being too ... Show more

According to researchers Christenson and Roberts, American adolescents spend...between four and
five hours a day listening to music...[which is] at least as much time as they spend watching standard
television fare and more than they spend with their friends outside of school (8). Music media
influences the lives of adolescents in a number of ways. It ...alters and intensifies their moods,

Music plays an important role in the lives of adolescents. They spend as much time, if not more,
listening to music as they spend watching television, and therefore, music deserves additional
scholarly attention. Music is not just music, or just a source of entertainment; rather music is a major
force and presence in contemporary American adolescence (Christenson and Roberts 11). Besides the
belief that music is just music, another popular belief is that, Nobody pays attention to lyrics
(Christenson and Roberts 7). This assumption is not completely true or false. Lyrics are often learned
accidentally during the listening experience, but almost every adolescent has a favorite song that he or
she can recite word for word. Therefore, whether the learning of the lyrics is intentional or not,
adolescents do learn

When I was 12 years old, I broke my elbow while snowboarding. After surgery the doctor said that I

Military Officer
In your opinion, should the Director of National Intelligence be a civilian or a military officer? Why?
This is a interesting question, after thinking about the pros and cons of whether the Director of
National Intelligence (DNI) should be military or civilian I have come to the conclusion that it is best
that the directorship should be civilian. I come to this conclusion based on this weeks discussion
question being that it is based on the hypothetical scenario in its nature meaning that the DNI currently

because of its nature that the United States nuclear weapons stockpile is both maintained and

was seen that the control of nuclear weapons should always be in the hands of the civilian branch of
the United States government (Atomic Energy Act in 1946 signed by president Harry S. Truman). It
does go without saying that there could be advantages that a military officer in assuming the role of

But that claim has been disputed with Gizmodo calling out Elon Musk. Although any HEPA filter will

Beethoven stopped creating new composition; he obviously was very disappointed and became
constantly more frustrated. It had been said that he even wrote letters to his brothers telling them how
he felt like it was an end of his life. During this period when Beethoven had almost stopped working
on music creation, he was living off funds from his earlier compositions, and symphonies. Those

High Education Is A Modern Day Crisis
Tuition to attend a university or college in America has gradually been increasing making the pursuit
for a degree even more expensive than before. The escalation of the affordability of seeking a higher
education is a modern day crisis! A college degree is very important in today s fields predominantly
due to the increase in competition for a job. Degrees are viewed as a requirement for a numerous
amount of jobs even though one is not guaranteed work in that field. Compared to other countries
around the world, America has been gradually dwindling down the ranks in student s standardized test
scores in subjects taught in school. Why has this become a trend? The pursuit for a higher education in
America should be free for whoever meets admission standards, as well as maintaining state
requirements to their public college of choice, regardless of the applicant s ability to pay. Yes, the
government offers financial aid to students who qualify for it, but being drowned in an ocean of debt

The United States and Illegal Immigration Essay
Illegal immigration was an issue in the past and is a pressing problem in the present. The U.S.
Government has been trying to find a resolution to this issue for years. The United States approved the
Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986, which allowed the American Government to punish
American companies that consciously employed illegal immigrants (Nadadur 1037 1052). The United
States Government Immigration Reform and Control Act has been unsuccessful in controlling illegal
immigration. It is estimated that illegal immigration into the U.S. has a yearly interval of three
hundred fifty thousand people (Rousmaniere 24 25). It is apparent that the 1986 act was not able to

Illegal immigrants help boost the United States economy by paying some taxes. Like American
citizens, illegal immigrants may pay local, state, and federal taxes including sales tax that helps
support government services that they may not be able to access (Ewing 9). Since more American
citizens are becoming aware of the benefits of an education, openings are being created for illegal
immigrants in low paying jobs (Nadadur 1037 1052). Americans, unlike illegal immigrants, have more
diverse careers. Aliens are more concentrated in specific job areas, resulting in a decrease in
immigrant labor cost. This helps boost the United States economy (Carter 777 795). Of the
approximate eleven million illegal immigrants in the U.S., most work in labor intensive jobs. Careers
such as construction and agriculture tend to attract illegal aliens and they account for about twenty
five percent of the work force in these areas (Ewing 9). Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal
Reserve admits that illegal immigrants help improve the United States economy and does not suggest
turning them away (qtd. in Quindlen 90). Anna Quindlen, in her article Newcomers By Numbers,
agrees with Bernanke and believes that immigrants are the factor that helps keep prices low. She also
adds that immigrants are not causing American citizens unemployment, but are simply taking the low

He was born in Guanajuato and educated at the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts , in Mexico City. he studied painting in Europe between 1907 and 1921, becoming familiar with the innovative cubist forms of the French painter Paul Cezanne and Pablo Picasso. In 1921 Riviera returned to Mexico and took a prominent part in revival of mural painting initiated by artists and sponsored by the government . Believing that art should serve the working people and be readily available to them , he concentrated on painting large frescoes, concerning the history and social problems of Mexico, on the walls ... Rivera also executed easel paintings and portraits and designed and built his Mexico City house , the Anahuacalli, which is now a museum housing the extensive collection of pre Columbian art that he left for Mexican people . I liked the water colors that Riviera used for the murals and the way he painted the pictures .I imagine take him a long time to draw the murals and paint them and drawing the faces . I have seen his murals in the walls in Mexico City and I really think is very hard to draw the murals and I also have seen in the museums alot of pictures that Riviera has drawn and I was really impressed with all his work. The thing that I liked the most were the murals that he drew and the painting and how he drew the faces of the people and the different colors of skins of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a striking difference however, an interviewee in the Ho piece said in such a compensation scheme, where workers struggle for recognition and deservedness creates an environment of competitive, even sabotaging, individualism that often cuts along the cleavages of race, gender, and class. Proof of Heaven Essay Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon s Journey into the Afterlife Abigail Alvarado Rhetoric Composition English 1302 September 18, 2014 Abstract Eben Alexander is a neurosurgeon who believed for many years that when people explained their near death experiences it was just the hard wiring of the brain. Of course ,though, he had refined medical training. It wasn t until Alexander had caught a rare disease which caused him to fall into a coma and had a near death experience himself. She was also riding on a butterfly wing, as he recalls, and it just seems to be a way a novelist would describe an angel guiding someone lost in heaven. There was nothing to make it sound different or stand out. It makes it hard to believe it s Alexander trying to prove heaven is real rather than just writing a story. Later on in the book Alexander talks about the core where he saw [b]ig, puffy, pink white [clouds] that showed up sharply against the deep blue black sky (p. 45). Everyone who thinks of heaven, thinks of clouds. It is not uncommon for anyone to describe heaven that way. It is very stereotypical and made it no different that anyone else s image of heaven. A sound, huge and booming like a glorious chant, came from above, and I wondered if the winged beings were producing it (Alexander, 2012, p. 45) is also another stereotype of what people say you d hear when you re in heaven. Again, not enough proof. There was a section where he mentions how he came into contact with God and received knowledge that was not taught but stored. It seemed that everyone who might have gone to church had heard the knowledge of what God was giving to Alexander. Modified wrestling is the same way, no set weight classes just the roughly the same size. But then high school wrestling started, there are set weight classes and they are extremely strict on how it need to be done. In the beginning of each season there is a process that is known as weight certification. What you have to do for that is pass the hydration test, get your body fat checked and then weigh in. After all that is done your body fat and weight are put into a formula that checks to see what the lowest possible weight class you can wrestle is with having a healthy amount of body fat. They hydration test is extremely important, if you are not hydrated you cannot certify until a later date. You have to pee in a cup and then the instructor puts the pee into a Refractometer and it measures the absolute weight of the urine and if it s over 1.025 you pass, anything less you fail and have to retry. They do this test so kids can t suck ridicules amounts of weight, this makes the sport a little bit more healthy I suppose. Essay On Family Law The Impact of Departure From The EU Will Impact Family Law While the country is still reeling from the EU referendum, we need to take a much closer look at how departure from the EU will impact family law in England and Wales. Family law is not a stranger in the sense of taking steps to move away from the EU which will take quite a bit of unraveling from the EU legislation. The same can be said regarding many of our other laws. Without a doubt, this will take quite some time and the process will probably drag out for quite some time. Nigel Shepherd, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bear in mind, in the absence of this important EU legislation, this will lead to even more uncertainty regarding who has the jurisdiction to hear the case. It has been iterated that the courts will have to fill the vacuum with something that would be similar to Brussels II in order to address the situation. Adding to this, the Brussels IIa allows an order that was created in England to recognised and is enforceable in other jurisdictions. Orders that are commonly affected by the EU legislation includes child custody, other arrangements and matrimonial orders that need to be addressed by the new legislation in order to stay enforceable across the borders. Keeping agreements made between multinational couples in a divorce are governed by Brussels IIa which allows for a more uncomplicated approach for enforcement across different jurisdictions. The enforcement of these agreements will need to be addressed in light of any new legislation and will have the greatest impact on matrimonial property and who owns what in different countries. Other Arising Issues: Although family law is not the leading victim of departure from the EU (or Brexit), there will still be a great deal of uncertainty leading up to the formal Brexit while negotiations continue with the EU and this could take a number of years. Women were often considered unqualified for jobs that required physical strength. Men, on the other hand were the breadwinner of the family. Another theme portrayed in Citizen Kane is the idea of materialism, and I believe this is a theme that Year 12 Students would be able to understand and form opinions upon. In the film, Charles Kane lives in a huge mansion filled with many expensive goods. He was an avid statue collector, a hobby only the very wealthy could pursue. Charles Kane said in the film, They ve been making statues for some two thousand years, and I ve only been collecting for five. The director s uses of depth of focus to exaggerate Kane s many possessions, and in one shot near the end we can see rooms full of crates with items he never unpacked. In his mansion, the rooms are perceived to be large, with dark shadows cast all around. The characters are constantly following things that pop up in their mind and coincidentally happening. I believe that in both stories Destiny has the greatest impact on multiple things but the main controversial topic is personal choices. That s why I believe in Ovid s PT and Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Destiny had a greater impact on characters. One example from Romeo and Juliet is when Romeo accidentally get invited to a Capulets party where coincidentally Juliet is there. If it was the personal choice that thrived Romeo would have chosen not to go to the party. These are shown in the play when Romeo says Romeo suggests as much before he goes to the party where he first meets Juliet: I fear, too early for my minds misgive some consequences yet hanging in the stars. • 22. Marie De France Composed A Works Of The French Aquitanian... From the works of the French Aquitanian and Champagnian troubadours, the framework/ideals of fin amour grew and spread throughout Europe, reaching the courts of Britain. As the conception of fin amour became increasingly popular amongst the literature of the aristocracy, writers such as, Andreas Capellanus wrote of the stages and rules of courtly love. Inspired by this movement in the culture and literature of court, the poet Marie de France composed a collection of romantic lays. In the Breton Lays , Marie presents her narratives as a guide for courtly lovers. For, each lay exhibits the problems, consequences, and rewards that can occur if a lady or knight does/or does not follow the three principles of fin amour which, as explained by the scholars Jeri S. Guthrie (1976) and F.R.P Akehurst (1995), include mezura (to have self restraint and patience in love, to have discretion within an affair), joven (to be spontaneous in love, to woo with grand gestures and gifts), and cortezia (to follow the moral and societal rules of court). The first standard of courtly love Marie de France presents within The Breton Lays is mezura. Through the narratives of Lanval and Yonec , Marie reinforces the importance mezura plays in maintaining a courtly affair; she shows that being open about a relationship can lead to disaster. At the end of the day, even at the best schools, we still question, Are they getting anything out of it? Education is not a lecture, a study guide, and/or a test. Education is the process to grow and build the whole student into a scholar. Education is used to imbue students with choice and opportunity, but I fear that we as educators forget that those choices and those opportunities are not ours to make. • 24. Discuss the Significance of Father Figures in Frankenstein Discuss the significance of father figures in Frankenstein Frankenstein is a story of science gone dreadfully amiss. Shelley offers depth and meaning to Frankenstein by presenting (sometimes covertly so) insinuations of failed father and son relationships littered throughout the story. The most obvious relationship in this story is that between Victor Frankenstein and his monster, however, there are other characters in the story that present themselves as father figures. In this essay, I will endeavour to discuss not only the significance of the familial relationship between Victor Frankenstein and his creature, but that of Victor and Alphonso Frankenstein, Henry Clerval and his father amongst others. As Allen notes, the most obvious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compassion and obligation urges Victor to sympathise with the creature and even render him happy like a father should a son; although even so, he makes no attempt to satisfy the monster s needs (Claridge, Parent Child Tensions in Frankenstein: The Search for Communion, p.20). Victor can understand the feelings of compassion or fatherly care that stir within him but he is unable to sustain those feelings of concern: I compassionated him, and sometimes felt a wish to console him; but when I looked upon him my feelings were altered to those of horror and hatred (p.121). He continues to fail his creature, swearing him into exile, then creating another like him before destroying it (and thus any chance of happiness for the creature), and then hunting him down. Victor is never able to perceive the monster s tormented psyche leading to his exclamation Let the cursed and hellish monster drink deep of agony; let him feel the despair that now torments me (p.172). The irony is Victor s creation already feels this, but Victor s anger and lack of insight causes him to oversee it (Claridge, Parent Child Tensions in Frankenstein: The Search for Communion, p.20). There is a slippage of identity between Victor and his creature causing a constant shifting between the controller and the victim (Morris, The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Social Injustice In To Kill A Mockingbird Justice has long been considered something that is important to the success of a society. However justice in itself is something that is hard to achieve. Recently in the news, a story has arisen regarding a father who was not able to afford a lawyer, due to this he was not able to see his kids for five years. This is what some people would call political injustice, a case in which someone s given rights have been ignored. This is very common despite people saying that justice should be given to all people. Social injustice is a case in which people are affected by less government and law related issues, including, environmental rights, civil rights, and an access to education. This can be also seen clearly in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Through the society that Harper Lee portrays in her novel she suggests that justice is something worth fighting for. Examples of both social and polítical injustice becomes apparent. Social injustice is a common theme throughout the novel. This can appear in cases of stereotypes. Many people in the town of Maycomb have families that are over generalized. Such as the Cunninghams, who never took anything they can t pay back. (Lee 26). However some of these stereotypes are very inaccurate. For instance, Walter Cunningham went to dinner with the Finches, this was something that he could not pay back, but he did it anyway. Or when Scout was able to help snap Mr.Cunningham back to reality when he was trying to intimidate Atticus. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper will show that the stereotype of the violent, criminal African American portrayed in rap music lyrics can become a self fulfilling prophecy for African Americans. Repeated and long term exposure to this stereotypical behavior in rap music lyrics can lead to increased aggression and this stereotype becoming accepted as a social norm by African Americans. I intend to support my argument with examples and analysis of the violent African American stereotype, and by explaining how the stereotype can become accepted as a social norm. Americans, unlike illegal immigrants, have more diverse careers. Aliens are more concentrated in specific job areas, resulting in a decrease in immigrant labor cost.
