New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al.
(2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason
and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that
feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for
this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable
consumer experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientific inquiry
(Johnson 1999; Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into
consumer behavior. In this article, we address the links between embodiment and consumer
experiences in order to elucidate the contours of the aesthetic experience not just the process of
thinking bodily but how the body affects the logic of our thinking about art. With this goal in mind,
we revisit Kant s question in order to explore art museum experiences the simultaneity with which
people see, hear, feel, taste, and smell art. We believe, along with Lakoff and Johnson (1999), that

Innovative Thinking Essay: Product Service System
It was amid a midyear break when the inverter at my place required an overhauling which was
expected by organization s arrangement. In any case, the organization lost a track of its past records
that demonstrated the third due administration. After a great deal of bothers and protests the issue
was settled. Notwithstanding, this occurrence made me end with that organization and joining
another. A large number of companies are unable to keep up the track of their administrations which
causes them a big time loss.
Each business plans to build its deal breaking its past records. Furthermore, the best way to do it
is to draw in new clients as well as to keep up them after deals. An organization that prioritizes its
customers will always be referred. The primary purpose behind the decrease of offers in an
organization is its absence of duty to give appropriate administrations to its clients. An enlisted
grumbling is here and there which is sometimes not attended by the organization which prompts
expanded grievances among the shoppers prompting decrease in the sales. Sometimes the
organization is not ready to keep up the record of the administrations of a client which prompts a
more prominent perplexity in the association. Another issue related to less customer satisfaction is
the inability to solve the problem on time.
One solution to this problem is to

A Comparison Of Pablo Picasso And Zaha Hadid
Does one ever question what opposition to cultural trends can lead someone? What if they were to
question they type of success that could erupt from dislocating and distorting one s work into a
brand unique to no one but yourself? Pablo Picasso and Zaha Hadid were two of the most
successful artists within the modernist movement. Both Picasso and Hadid laid the foundation for
their success with a strong educational background. Each artist understood their sheer talent and
works would not contribute to their succession alone. Picasso and Hadid sought the importance of
defining one s brand on a global scale. Building a connection between a consumer and their product,
both Picasso and Hadid knew that their talent and business practices would allow them to convey
themselves naturally in a world immersed with commercialization. Their profound ability to know
which patrons (sponsors) to conduct business with, and proper distribution without flooding the
market, allowed Picasso and Hadid s work to stay in demand.
Born to on October 25, 1881 to Jose Ruiz Blaso, Pablo Picasso did not know that he would become
one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Displaying an extraordinary talent for art at
a young age, Picasso s father (a professor of art) decided to mentor Picasso s passion for the lapiz.
With the death of his sister at age thirteen, his family moved to Barcelona, where his father took a
position in the School of Fine Arts. Pablo s father successfully

Los Vendidos, Produced by Luis Valdez Essay
For centuries, the Mexican American experience has been one of adversity and endurance. The
plight of these native peoples has been ignored and many times erased from the American
conscience. They have struggled for acknowledgment, they have fought for equality and they have
gone to battle for respect. Luis Valdezs play, Los Vendidos
, is just one of many contributions to this
effort. A powerfully moving play, Los Vendidos
, or the sell outs , is a piece created to gain
acknowledgement, heighten awareness and to create a sense of camaraderie amongst the people
fighting in the Chicano Movement of the late 1960 s and 70 s. Created by a population that had

She is a secretary working for the governor s office that maintains a proper yet pompous American
accent, and her hair is dyed a shade of platinum blond. She personifies the American aspiration to
de Mexicanize the Mexican Americans. As she shops for a suitable used Mexican model the civic
indifference and racism that the Mexican Americans have been forced to combat becomes
progressively more apparent.
Women, who have always accounted for half of the population, have not historically been
recognized or respected for their contributions to society. In the past, all women have had to
struggle against a chauvinistic world, but for minority women the fight has been even harder.
For Mexican America women they have had two strikes against them in the eyes of America, not
only were they Mexican and therefore prone to what those stereotypes entailed, but they were
also women and therefore not deserving of any power or respect. Los Vendidos presents and
portrays women in a very curious way. In the play, with the only exceptions being Ms. Jimenez
and the mother, who only has one line, none of the female models speak Furthermore, both Ms.
Jimenez and Senor Sancho deliberately ignore all of them. For example, as the play begins and
camera pans the store, a Soldadera woman can be noticed, she is dressed southwestern attire,
including a cowboy hat and ammunition belts. Other then for those few brief seconds this woman

The Baptist Student Union Building
Koinonia Hey, you want to go to Koinonia, my friend Sarah asked. Sure, I ll go. Questions filled
my head as I headed toward the club s gathering place. What is Koinonia? Who is in it? Am I
even welcomed to go? Yes, anyone is welcomed! Just come check it out. By the time it is over,
you will have a sense of what Koinonia is. As I approached the door, I prepared myself for what
I would encounter beyond the door. Walking into the bottom of the Baptist Student Union
building, I noticed several familiar faces. Welcome, I am so happy you are here, the vice
president exclaimed. I automatically felt in place, and took a seat at a table. Sarah Roberson, the

singer and speaker for each weekly meeting, and works by the side of the president to plan
activities. By this time, the room became filled with girls who took time to welcome me
personally. After a few exchanges, the singers began to start. The song lifted the room s spirits,
and everyone joined along in singing. Looking around, I became so happy to see young women
close to my age having fun worshipping Christ. Faces were covered in smiles as the song ended.
After the song was done, the president stood up and announced she would be the speaker.
Sharing her personal testimony, my nerves were struck with the influence she had experienced.
Finishing her story, she closed us out in prayer. While walking out of the building, I found
myself walking the same path as a classmate who was also leaving. What did you think of that,

Analysis Of A Bowling Essay
Bowling There are a lot of steps for bowling. The very first step is to find your weight of the
bowling ball and your shoe size. When you start bowling every person is different on where they
need to stand at and how far back or how far forward. By the time you bowl for a while you will
find out on where you need to stand. I stand on the left by the second dot and throw my ball on
the second arrow on the right. People that bowl with straight balls stand in the middle and just
throw it down the lane. When I first started bowling I just threw a ball down the lane. But now I
throw a curveball that comes back inside. So what that all means I can stand on the left and
throw it on the right side of the lane and if the timing is all right it will come back and it will
come right into the pocket. I m sure all of you guys are wondering what the pocket means and what
it means is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A straight ball is where the ball stays in one spot of doesn t move at all unless the lanes are really
dry then it will hook. A curve ball moves no matter what and if the lanes are dry the curve ball will
hook extremely. So that is the difference between the two different types of bowling balls. The
object of bowling is to knock down as many pins as possible. For High School bowling you bowl
two individuals games and the five bakers. The most common baker style is to be the 5 person
format where bowler 1 bowls frames 1 and 6, bowler 2 bowls frames 2 and 7, bowler 3 bowls
frames 3 and 8, bowler 4 bowls frames 4 and 9 and bowler 5 bowls frames 5 and 10. The order is
set at the beginning of the match but can be changed after the completion of each game. So
these are the pretty basic steps I do when I bowl. And you guys may think bowling is a hard
sport to be good at but it just takes time. It took me like three years to get pretty good at it. It s a
pretty competitive sport if you bowl the right

Breast Lift And Implants Research Paper
Heading: Breast Lift and Implants: Is This Two Part Procedure Right for Me?
Page Title:
Meta Description:
Pregnancy, gravity, age, breastfeeding these are factors that affect the size and shape of a woman
s breasts. Overtime, these factors will cause the breast volume to deflate, the skin to sag, and the
nipples to droop. As a result, many women feel a decrease in their femininity. Some even begin to
feel insecure about their bodies.
Breast lift with implants is a combined cosmetic surgery that may alter women s poor perception of
themselves due to their breasts. The procedure will not only correct breast asymmetry and
sagginess but also increase breast fullness. These enhancements are what makes this two part

Is breast list with implants right for me?
To help you answer this question, allow us to explain briefly what a breast lift and breast
augmentation does. Once you have the basic idea of what each procedure does, you can determine
by yourself if a combined breast lift with implants is suitable for you.
In summary, a breast lift will surgically fix breasts that are pendulous, nipples and areolas that
droop below the breast crease, and the breast shape that is asymmetric. Breast lift doesn t add
volume to the breast, though, so this is appropriate for you if you re already satisfied with your
breast size.
Breast augmentation, on the other hand, is a surgical procedure that increases breast size with the
use of implants. It doesn t correct sagging breasts or drooping nipples.
Both procedures can provide stunning results even when performed independently. However, if
your goal is to make your breasts fuller, perkier, and more youthful, you may want to combine both
procedures. You ll not only enjoy beautiful results but also undergo one period of a lengthy

The American Dream Of Home Ownership
Too many Americans have fallen victim to the crisis that has become the norm for our citizens
these days. Lenders no longer want to work with individuals who have gone through the
foreclosure process and for many it is not only their homes they lose. Some have lost their jobs
and/or families, others fall into a deep depression and worst of all some have taken their own
lives. An alternative would be for lenders to add a true customer service department which is not
based on pay or get out, but is counseling based to keep Americans in the American Dream of home
ownership. This would not only keep their customers for future business with new home loans, but
would be noticed by neighbors and the community who are appreciative their home values are not
decreasing. The lenders would counsel them through the sale by assisting them with getting the
most they can for their home. By getting local community organizations involved to help with
home repairs and curb appeal. Once the home is market ready and a dollar amount has been
reached for these repairs the home owner will have to volunteer time and/or resources to assist
another person going through the same situation. This would not only help the homeowner but will
keep homes in the area selling at a fair market value and not bring down the values in their
neighborhood. The assistance provided by the lenders and assistance from the community will help
build their self confidence and make them feel like they are not alone.

The Pros And Cons Of Advertisement
As decades pass, advertisement and marketing methods are constantly evolving. Companies will
lure buyers in with methodical discrete messages that are unrecognizable to readers. They will
use a person s morals or values to attract their attention and create ingenious perspectives on
common standards of the time period. Even children toy advertisements have underlying
meanings; companies pay close attention to the smallest details and make sells by evoking a
child to nag their parents to purchase their product. Like many toy companies, Fisher Price
created a magazine ad in the 1980 s that displayed a shift in the typical roles of men and women
in a household. Fisher Price released an appealing advertisement in 1987 for their Magic Vac, a
battery free toy vacuum for children to enjoy. The main focal pointof the ad is the illustration of the
boy vacuuming the house while the girl sits in a chair reading a newspaperwith her shoes off. Prior
to the 1980s, the emblematic standard for women was to take care of the house and raise the
children while the husband worked during the day. In the 80s, women began working outside of the
homeand bringing in an income, this did not make them inferior to their husbands, but it did make
some men uncomfortable. They were uncertain about the idea of their wife working and splitting
household duties. Normally, men would come home from work and sit in their recliners with their
feet propped up and shoes off reading the newspaper; the wives

Lack Of Education In Pakistan
The future successes of a nation heavily depend on the way the nation grows, shapes, and teaches
their children. Pakistan has no foreseeable success in their future because they do not invest in their
children s education. In many countries, such as the United States, it is against the law for children
to not attend school. In Pakistan, there is no such law requiring children to be formally educated.
The lack of education of Pakistani youth today creates issues which will inevitably plague Pakistani
citizens tomorrow. Pakistan has had many issues over the years regarding the education of Pakistan
s children as seen through poverty, gendered roles, and terrorism. Upon the foundation of Pakistan,
people had hoped education would one of the most significant focuses of the new government.
However, the government did not focus on the central issue of education. Instead, constant conflict
with India over Kashmir has been a primary concern which the Pakistani government has dealt with
over the years. The Talibanand their threat of destabilizing the already unstable republic have also
been a major presence in the government s mind. Pakistan has never been able to focus on aiding
its people due to constant warfare and national security concerns. As a result, Pakistan does not
regulate or assist in the education of its children. Without government support, education is also
harmed by other factors, such as the extreme poverty many Pakistani families face. Many Pakistani

Mirror Motifs In Persepolis

repressive regimes or who were forced to leave their families. It highlights the daily conflict
between tradition and modernity, West and East, dictatorship and individual freedom. Marjane has

feel nothing when watching these men with their clothes sculpted on but they, as men, can get
excited by two inches less of my head scarf? here Marjane questions the restrictiveness of the veil
and comments on the injustice in Muslim society and the gender inequality. The veil represent the
repressions and the gender injustices in Iran. By revolting against the veil Marjane is able to
protest the repressions. On hearing Marjanes complaint, the school administrators asked Satrapi to
design her own veil. Marjane accepts this offer while still in the confines of the veil. Marjane

Title Evolution of drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Introduction
Bacterial pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes tuberculosis a complex granulomatous
disease which is a global health concern. It is a very slow growing bacteria, thus is extremely time
consuming to culture in laboratory. It can survive the attack of the immune arsenal of our body; can
successfully hide inside the macrophage. This makes long periods of uninterrupted antibiotic
treatment necessary for the patients with tuberculosis and contributes to drug resistance very
quickly [WHO 2014]. All this poses an extreme challenge to the scientists and the medical
community to develop effective drug, monitor and treat this disease across globe. Before the
discovery of anti tubercular drugs, this disease was one of the most dreaded diseases. In absence
of any drugs the only form of treatment recommended was healthy diet, rest and fresh air. Patients
were sent to Tuberculosis sanatorium hoping that they might survive. The origin of this pathogen is
traced back to Africa around 70,000 years ago and they successfully coevolved with humans as
they migrated out of Africa and settled across the globe. Nearly 10,000 years ago there was a
sudden change in human demography and the human population density increased suddenly, this is
termed as Neolithic Demographic Transition. Genomic data of Mycobacterium across

Learning and Change in Organizations
Learning and Change in Organizations
We live in a dynamic world with constantly varying conditions and aspects that influence how we
make business operations and manage resources. The varying conditions in different circumstances
require a level of understanding that is made possible through learning. This essentially means that
learning consistent with the varying condition is in order to stay in touch and articulate matters
appropriately. Business operations cannot be expected to carry on in the similar ways as in the past
with no considerations of what is happening in the modern world (Pless, 2007).
Learning is a process of discovery that generates new understanding about ourselves and the world
around us. Strategic learning is organizational learning that improves the strategic capability of the
organization and changes the basic assumptions underlying the stable generation mechanism that
structures the strategic behavior design process. Organizations have various levels of knowledge
and learn at all levels (Stein Nelson, 2003). The levels of organizational learning interact, making
higher order learning such as strategic learning problematic. Change resulting from learning need
not be visibly behavioral. Learning may result in new and significant insights and awareness that
dictate no behavioral change. In this sense the crucial element in learning is that the organism be
consciously aware of differences and alternatives and have consciously chosen one of these

The Holocaust And The Bosnian Genocide
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines the word genocide as the killing of people who belong
to a particular racial, political, or cultural group (Merriam). But aren t genocides much more then
that? Over the past hundred years, there have been several attempted genocides around the world.
Two of the most well known genocides are the Holocaust (the Nazi s attempt to destroy the Jewish
people) and the Bosnian genocide (the Serbians attempt to destroy the Bosnian population). This
paper analyzes a political cartoon relating to genocides, describes the events that led to the
Holocaust and the Bosnian genocide, describes several similarities and differences between them
and explains why genocides continue regardless of the saying, Never Again . I. Cartoon
Interpretation The cartoon is a commentary about the United Nations unsuccessful efforts to stop
genocide. These efforts began in the 1940s: Nearly 60 years ago, the international community
made a commitment to put an end to the crime of genocide by ratifying the United Nations
Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. (Hastings) As noted in
the cartoon, however, the United Nations efforts have not succeeded. The cartoon shows a
tremendous amount of skeleton heads. These skeleton heads could refer to all of the people who
have been killed in genocides around the world. It also shows approximately 15 graves above the
skeleton heads. The graves include the names of different places

Cause And Effect Of Volcanos
olcanoes
One of the most destructive acts to occur on the earth s surface, takes place from within the earth
itself. Volcanoes have the effect of destroying everything in its path with its molten hot lava, but
also allows some positive outcomes to occur such as precious jewels.
Volcanoes are parts of the Earth s crust that have been forced in an upward position causing a
mound like landform on the surface or in water. What lies beneath is magma that has been
building up pressure for thousands of years, pushing through a crack or break in the earth s crust
waiting to be released. Once a volcano is finally relived of the pressure, it sends lava flowing and
spewing out of the top. Another thing that volcanoes let off is volcanic ash and gases that can be
very harmful to any living thing if exposed to these elements.
There is more than one type of volcano. Many people think of the triangular mountain type
volcanoes to be the only ones that exist, but this isn t true. This type of volcano is known as the
composite cone, such that Mount Fuji and Mount St. Helens fall under this classification.
Another type is called a shield volcano, which really doesn t look like a volcano at all. They are
made up of overlapping lava flows which keep fanning out and making the effect of a shield like
surface. Another classification of volcanos is known as a cinder cone volcano, it is like the
composite cone but doesn t come to a complete point at the top. It has the look of a cylindrical top

The young man does not know what is in store for him. He goes to the hotel ready to show his

between multiple participants. Young menin the fight are blindfolded, I had no dignity. I stumbled

Chemical Formulas Review: Nomenclature and Formula Writing
Naming Simple Compounds
There are four naming systems you should familiarize yourself with to succeed on the SAT II

the compound starts with H, it is an acid. Use the naming acids rules. * If the compound starts with
C and contains quite a few H s and perhaps some O s, it is organic. Use the naming organic
compounds rules. * If the compound starts with a metal, it is most likely ionic. Use the naming
binary ionic compounds rules. * If the compound starts with a nonmetal other than H or C, use the

How do you know it s organic? The formula will start with a C followed by H s. Most of the
organic carbons you will encounter will be either hydrocarbons or alcohols, and luckily for you,
these are the simplest of all to name. Learn the list of prefixes in the table following this section:
they correspond to the number of carbons present in the compound. The following silly statement
will help you remember the order of the first four prefixes since they are not ones you are familiar
with: Me eat peanut butter. This corresponds to meth , eth , prop , and but , which correspond to
one, two, three, and four carbons, respectively.
Now that we have a stem, we need an ending. There are three common hydrocarbon endings; the
ending changes depending on the structure of the molecule: * ane = alkane (all single bonds and
saturated); CnH2n+2; saturated: it contains the maximum number of H s * ene = alkene (contains
double bond, unsaturated); CnH2n *

The Presentation Of Self In Everyday Life By Erving...
In Erving Goffman s book, The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, he bases his literature and
knowledge off of dramatological theories. According to Goffman, an individual appearing before
others is a performer appearing before his or her audience. These performers have many motives
to put on an act enabling the possibility to control their impressions given off in their performance.
He then furthers his belief within a given setting, there is no true self. On the contrary to Goffman
s work, Julia Woods explains the westernized view of self that each individualhas a true inner
identity. But, if we as performers have a true inner self, can we act consistent while being
appropriate in a certain setting? This analysis will depict a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

During the analyzed performance between Anthony and Sandy, both of them are focused on
maintaining their identity, through their appearance, manner, and setting. What we use through
personal decoration is known as appearance. Goffman explains this characteristic as stable and
unchanging for a person s identity. For instance, while Sandy is speaking so highly of just
receiving her Real Estate License she is wearing an elegant woman s business suit, carrying an
affluent designer bag. Based off of her appearance she is displaying a self made successful
woman front. The next physical characteristic aiding to an individual s front is manner. Goffman
claims this aspect is unstable and can change depending on your mood, but ultimately is how the
person says or does things. Proceeding to carry herself in such an egocentric manner, Sandy s
conceited attitude indicates her front as a know it all because she continuously monopolizes every
conversation back to herself. Sandy truly believes she has the right advice for every detail Anthony
brings to her attention. Anthony s manner on the other hand, is more of the opposite. From his
point of view, he has a good prediction for what his mother is going to say based off of her
mannerisms and signals given and given off, explaining why he is short and subtle to his mother s
statements. The final aspect to maintaining a person s front is known as setting. Within setting,
there are presence signs, orientation placement

Kesha s Song Praying
I chose the song Praying by Kesha for chapter twelve. In 2014, Kesha signed an exclusive
contract with Dr. Luke. By 2014, Kesha began a lawsuit against Dr. Luke for having an unlawful
contract. Dr. Luke s contract enabled him to control every aspect of her life. The lawsuit claimed
that Dr. Luke verbally, physically, sexually, and emotionally abused her to the point where she
almost lost her life. In 2017, after being freed from the contract, Kesha released Praying to express
the impact Dr. Luke had on her. I am relating this song to the misuses of power and influence found
in chapter twelve. Chapter twelve specifically contains information about sexual harassment and
different types of bullying. Kesha s song, Praying, expresses abuse

The Threat Of The Tropical Cyclone
Introduction
Throughout the nation, natural, technological, and man made disasters jeopardizes communities as
a whole. Many people rely on their local communities emergency preparedness plans, while they
should be utilizing their knowledge, information provided for them, and using their capabilities to
ready themselves and their families. The outcome that can come from any disastrous event mainly
relies on how you respond to the specific threat, and the steps one takes to minimize the risks of
such a scenario. Being from Florida, I have been subject to several types, and forms, of disasters;
but the most common and the one that can pose one of the greatest threats is the tropical cyclone,
also known as the hurricane. When concerning this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many times, these choices can be based on their previous experience and their knowledge of
tropical cyclones. Many families, including my own, that has been a resident of Florida for a
multitude of years has experienced numerous storms and aware of their capabilities. Over the past
quarter decade alone, there have been severe landings that have stricken the Florida Coast line, such
as Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Hurricane Irene in 1999, and the four storms that landed in 2004,
Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.
All of these landings have convinced many people to seek further knowledge and to conduct better
preparation standards in the inevitability of another landing. In fact, Chris Landsea, through the
National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration Hurricane Research Division states, For
the U.S., the locations that have the highest chances are the following: Miami, Florida 48% (
2014). This means that every year Florida, Miami more specifically, has a forty eight percent
chance of being hit by a hurricane. With the high percentage of Florida possibly being struck each
year, many residents have possibly become disillusioned about the possible catastrophic damage
these storms can truly cause.
In addition to the residential firsthand knowledge, and reoccurrence of these natural disasters,
another aspect that can affect the decisions

Sea Creatures Categorized as Zooplankton, Nekton, and...
There are many different creatures in the ocean. They are categorized into 3 different groups that
are Zooplankton, Nekton, and Benthos. In the ocean the zooplankton eat phytoplanktons.
Zooplankton are eaten by all of the larger animals. Phytoplankton self reproduce so they don t
need to eat other things. They create their own food. The Nekton eat the zooplankton because it
is a smaller species than the rest. Some of the most dangerous animals to both humans and other
sea animals are Leopard Seals. Leopard Seals are the second largest species in the Antarctic. The
Sea Leopard can be found mainly in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and the Atlantic
Ocean. It is estimated to live 26 years, some sea leopards live beyond 26 years of age. Leopard
seals mainly eat other seals, penguins, fishand krill.
The leopard seal is a big animal with a dark grey back and a white stomach. It was given the
name leopard seal because it has spots on its throat. Their front teeth are sharp and their teeth
lock in a way so they can kill easier and keep the other fish in it s mouth if it wasn t completely
dead. The leopard seal can usually be found in a pack. It spends most of the time in the water.
Leopard seals don t make much noise except a few grunts and it sometimes growls. A torpedo
ray has a soft yet fat and flabby body. It has loose skin and a muscular tail. They have electric
organs that are shaped like kidneys. They are pretty slow animals but they can cause a lot of harm.

Analysis Of Frankenstein And Nabokov s The Real Life Of...
Both Shelley s Frankenstein and Nabokov s The Real Life of Sebastian Knight investigate
problems of reality, strongly suggesting that real knowledge of someone cannot exist or is at best
inaccessible. However, while Nabokov and Frankenstein suggest that one may never be able to
know the real life of another person, perhaps one s failed attempts to perfectly capture that reality
reflectionsor interpretations of reality, that is function as the most meaningful reality for the
would be knower. V. s definition of real itself makes real knowledge an impossibility. While V.
never explicitly defines real, readers can piece together an approximate understanding from the
metaphors he uses to express his lack of access to the realSebastian. Although V. could describe
the way he [Sebastian Knight] walked, or laughed, or sneezed, these facts would be no more than
sundry bits of cinema film cut away by scissors and having nothing in common with the essential
drama (Larsen 16). Characters know much about Sebastian but he himself escapes [them] (Larsen
28 9). It s this essential drama or he himself that V. identifies as real the core essence of someone
or something. And after a conversation with Sebastian, V. longed for no earthly reason (...) to say
something real, something with wings and a heart, suggesting that something real is otherworldly,
incorporeal ( no earthly reason , wings and a heart ), and thus beyond V. s ability to know. Perhaps

To An Athlete Dying Young Essay
Before becoming recognized as an important and dedicated poet of the first World War, A.E.
Housman took a position of a clerk in the Patent Office in London for 10 years after having
unexpectedly failed his exams whilst he was in college. During the time he worked at the Patent
Office, Housman intensively studied Greek and Roman classics, and later in 1892, became
appointed the professor of Latin at UniversityCollege in London. Whilst keeping his profession
throughout the years at various universities, Housman became renown as a classicist for his own
editions of countless Roman poets, such as Juvenal, Manilius, and Lucan. In 1896, Housman

How Warfare Techniques Have Changed The Construction Of A...
There are many Warfare methods created for a castle. For instance, there is the Trebuchet, there are
the battlements (Merlins and Embrasures), the catapults, and much more! I ll be telling you how
these warfare techniques have changed the construction of the castles!!
The first thing I will be telling you about is the Trebuchet, A trebuchet is a catapult like engine
which uses a swinging arm to throw a projectile at the enemy. It is used to throw rocks (Boulders),
dead animals and humans, fireballs, and much more things. Trebuchets were apart of the attacking
defending team of the castles. This means that this would cost money because the people in the
castle would need to get supplies. The reason the Trebuchets influenced castle construction is that
when the people of the castle new that the enemies would have the trebuchets they would need to
build higher walls so when things start to fly at the castle they would want to have something that
would block the flying obstacles. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They look like mini/small walls that go up and down around all of the castle walls. The reasons
the Merlins and Embrasures are influenced construction is because when there was a war these

would not be hit by arrows, boulders, and more. This is why Merlin and Embrasures were
influenced for castle

Issue:
Whether a minor child can file for asylum without the consent of a parent or legal guardian?
Rule:
8 U.S.C.A. В§ 1158 (West 2012) states any alien who is physically present in the United Statesor
who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an
alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United
States waters), irrespective of such alien s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this
section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.
Analysis:
The main issues before the Court were two fold. First, could a six year old child apply for
asylum without a parent or legal guardian and secondly, did the INS overstep their authority in
denying the application for asylum. Statute 8 USC В§ 1158 states that any alien could apply for
asylum, however, the INS rejected that a six year old child had the mental capacity to make that
decision for himself. The INS interviewed both the Uncle Lazaro Gonzalez and the father Juan
Gonzalez and determined that the father was the legal guardian, therefore had the right to speak
for Elian Gonzalez. Elian s reasons for seeking asylum were fear of persecution . According to the
uncle, if Elian, were returned to Cuba,

Women And Their Roles During The Second Industrial Revolution
Women and Their Roles in the Second Industrial Revolution When discussing history, it is often
assumed that the history of men is also the history of women. Historians often forget that women
constantly experience historical processes differently because of the roles that they play and their
biological differences. The second Industrial Revolutionaffected women uniquely, and their
involvement and contributions were distinctive as well. The second Industrial Revolution lead to
many advantages and disadvantages for women, it changed the types of work women performed,
changed their attitudes about working, men s attitudes towards them working, and their status and
function in the family structure was transformed as well. Along with the technical and economic
advancements during the Industrial Revolution was a social change that occurred for women, being
the impetus for more progressive movements, empowerment, and the fight for equality in a
patriarchal society. Throughout time, there have been many revolutions; the Puritan Revolution,
the French Revolution, Urban Revolution, Commercial Revolution, Scientific Revolution, and
Computer Revolution to name just a few. Of all these nonpolitical revolutions, the one with the
longest and widest currency is doubtless the Industrial Revolution (Stewart, pg. 1). It is important to
understand the historical background of the revolutions to make more sense of why women held
the roles they did and how things really changed for them.

Humans In The Iliad
The Iliad, chronicling the deeds of great legends from the past who helped form a society. As
such the epic stands it made a connection between history and literature. In classical literature, the
Greeks developed a complex system filled with gods, goddesses, demigods, and mythological
creatures. The Greek gods share the same vices as humans, proving themselves to be as fallible as
mortals are. For example, the gods often argue with each other. Like the one happened in book one

that makes the quality of human life different in divine life in book one of the Iliad. First, they are

Summary Of Untitled By Gerald Dono
The painting of Untitled by Gerald Donato displayed in the Taubman Museum in Roanoke allures
attention by the chaotic combination of figural pieces and the collided whirlwind of vibrant
yellows, oranges, greens, and undertones of black. The background information shares that Gerald
Donato was a talented, beloved painter and teacher whose work anticipated references to
important art historical developments. Ideological forces, such as familiar cartoon imagery,
Steamboat Willie , and formally represented figures, are clearly influences in his work as his
interest of hidden subject matter is visually bursted on an oil canvas. He created a blended cartoon
like scene of abstraction and figuration by incorporating a mysterious feminine figureMoon face
and a recurring character Mr. Man to embody a message of escaping from the spiral cage that
represents the constraints in life. Mr. Donato borrowed images from past history and radically
transformed these elements through his own blend of abstraction and figures to send a message
about the conflict between society and individuals.
The artist depicts an initial confusing and weirded out thought for the viewer at first glance, but as
one deeply examines the art, the subject matter begins to become more clear. The vision being
shared in this non objective painting has a context of placing one in the standing of Mr. Man by
gaining height and freedom from the (white) bars that are rising on each level that represent
conflict which traps one in a cage of misery. The unbalanced symmetry of having the left side take
up more space with little action, and the right side being smaller with the action unraveling, makes
the viewer break down each composite perspective. For the left side, the mysterious female muse,
Moon Face, has an unproportional face that is almost blushing with shades of light pasty orange,
with the mouth wide open. The energetic mood is amplified by the tone of yellow that is
splashed in the mouth, representing a loss of words or at a state of disbelief. The female s lower
half is created with tints of red that enhances the curves on her body, as if chiaroscuro connects the
light and dark contrast to show outline of the breasts, stomach, and hips in

From hundreds of years until now, there are many serious issues concerning human interactions that
have been discussed in different ways and can be seen in countless pieces of work such as the novel
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. In this novel, Shelley wrote about various themes that are significant
in understanding the concept of fitting in with society and human interactions with one another and
with ones self. She was trying to get across important themes that are still relevant today, including
the theme of physical appearance. The theme of physical appearance is shown many times in the
noveland illustrates how people are judged and discriminated according to how they look and the
consequences it may have on individuals.

Impact Of The American Revolution On The United States Of...
The United States revolution is one of the most important revolutions to occur in history because it
can be seen as the most significant revolution to transpire in modern time. This can be shown
through the role that the revolution had in creating the country that we know today. Why was it
that the American Revolutionoccurs, was it for independence or was it based on something else? In
the American Revolution there were many leaders who aided in creating the United States, who
were they and what was the costs that came out of the revolution they helped start. What kinds of
impact did the American Revolution have on the rest of the world at the time? Throughout this
paper it will examine the impacts it had on the entire world, which had a role in starting the
revolution and how did it help build the country we know today as the United States of America.
In the year 1776 there were many things occurring in the Americas that created what we now know
as the United States of America. A few of those things include the emancipation that the United
States was trying to get from the British Empire. This separation can be seen as the society now
known as the United States trying to fit the model that had been starting to occur in many places.
The model that was used for the Americas to try and create their new country was that of

Both Julian in Flannery O Connor s Everything That Rises Must Converge and Cassio in
Shakespeare s Othello have been raised to act and to believe that they are exceptional among their
peers. This ingrained belief that they are better than others presents itself in the way they think and
speak to those around them, who they choose to associate with, and how their lack of personal
awareness negates any good intentions they may have.

towards those around them. Cassio provides a fantastic example of classism when he says, The

exhibits anger and a determination to defend his honor when Roderigo corrects his manners. A

ridiculous and insulting to be corrected by Roderigo, a lesser class of man. While Shakespeare s
Cassio displays unconcealed classism, Flannery O Connor s Julian is a more subdued example, as
the majority of his classism is relegated to the judgements of others within his internal monologue.
As his aggravation with his mother reaches its breaking point he verbalizes his classism by

New Netherlands Influence On American Society
It s quite obvious that the nations outlined in Woodard s book have paved the road for the
American way today. Some nations have had bigger contributions than others. I think the New
Netherlands played the biggest role in both political and economic America today. New
Netherlands was established ,originally, as a trade post. As a direct result of the post there was a
level of tolerance that was necessary. It was this level of tolerance that shaped the way we ,should,

There was a large caste system in play in the deep south for a long time. I believe that the
influence of this class system is why racism was such a problem in the deep south. The caste
system in the deep south was very rigid. You were born into a caste and leaving that caste was
nearly impossible. There are remnants of that society still in action today. Although mainly
practiced by old money elitists. Slaves played a fundamental part of shaping the deep south we
see today. With the ever growing demand for slaves people were being brought in from

languages, culinary practices and even music a majority of which are still in practice today. In
places like Alabama racism was and probably is still a huge issue. I believe this was derived
from the caste system, which placed american americans at the bottom. White then gained a

Secular Humanism Rejects The Idea And Existence Of God
Secular humanism rejects the idea and existence of God. It is a philosophy of life, which views
that humans are the supreme beings of the universe. They believe that the creation of the universe
and life is an incredible coincidence. They believe that human existence is fully explained without
any references to spiritual occurrences. Secular humanists have no religion and reject the idea of
faith and spirituality. They believe that science is the only source of knowledge and reveals the
laws of nature and is measurable.
Does God exist?
Catholic view
Through out history people have believed in God and have practiced religion. Religion provides
meaning for people and it helps people answer the existential questions of life and also gives
people a purpose bigger than their own. Christians believe that God shows us the way to meaning
and purpose.
There are three arguments for the existence of god the ontological, cosmological and religious
experience. Ontological argument is for God is based on the ideas about nature of being,
existence and reality. This argument is based entirely on reason. You shouldn t have to go out and
looking for physical evidence that God existence we can work out that God exists just by thinking
about it. According to this argument God is perfection. God is all powerful and something can t be
called God unless it is perfect.

Manipulation Of Digital Photography And Fashion Photography
The aim of this research project is to look at Manipulation in Digital Photography and in Fashion
Photography, before and after Adobe Photoshop was invented. The term Photoshop is commonly
used as expression to denote the manipulation of images and will be used in this context throughout
this research project. Photoshop is one of the biggest known software used to edit photographs and
as such plays a vital role in photography. Over the years Photoshop has changed drastically and this
study will look at the reasons that have contributed to the evolvment of this particular editing
software. There will also be further exploration into how far Digital Photography and Fashion
Photography go into manipulating their images. So, what is Digital Photography? Digital
photography is The art and science of producing and manipulating photographs photographs that
are represented as bit maps. (Beal, 2015) Digital photos can be produced in number of different
ways such as: by taking an actual picture using a Digital Camera, and by scanning in any printed
photographic images. Once the photograph is digital it turns into digital format such as JPEG or
RAW format; this is when the pictures can be edited using software such as Photoshop. People
who may not be as adept and competent in the art of photography often rely on such softwares,
when taking a good picture, as a mean to edit their picture to make it appear more professional. An
example of this could be defined as a generic photo

Limescale Research Paper
Whether you have a tankless water heater or a standard water heater, they can develop limescale.

Straighten a wire coat hanger, and insert the pointed end into the drain valve. Clean as much
limescale as possible with the wire, and replace damaged valves.
Connect a garden hose to the drain valve, and lay the free end of the hose in a sink or outside.
.Ensure the hose has no kinks and slants down. Allow the water to drain, which commonly takes
about forty minutes. If the water seems slow, shake the hose.
Clean the Tank
Find the anode rod, a recessed bolt, which is commonly on top of the water heater. Remove the hex
screw with an Allen wrench., and set the parts aside.
Fill the tank with three or four cups of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has acidcontent that
breaks down limescale, which white vinegar lacks.
Let the vinegar stay in the tank for twenty four to forty eight hours, but no longer than forty eight
hours. Set a bucket under the drain valve, and keep the drain valve open, so the solution will pour
out.
Flush the tank with clean water to rid the system of vinegar and remaining lime scale. Check inside
the drain valve opening for lime scale remnants, and scrape them with wire. Rub some pipe
compound on the drain valve threads, and reinstall

Incubation Paper
Problem solving can be facilitated by an incubation effect, which is a sudden realisation of an
appropriate answer or insight (Smith Blankenship, 1991). Incubation has been widely studied to
understand performance, such as in problem solving, enhancing creativity, or its association with
unconscious processing.
Many studies have found supporting evidence for incubation as a facilitating mechanism for
problem solving. Smith and Blankenship (1991) found reliable results and good internal validity
when they found improved performance on the Remote Associates Tasks (RAT) due to incubation
effects. Their five experiments on the RAT showed that incubation effects were only effective after
fixation, which was a mechanism that prevented the subject ... Show more content on

Ritter and Dijksterhuis (2014) found that unconscious processing during a period of incubation can
positively influence creativity. They argued that it is not only the lack of conscious processing
during an incubation period, but rather the presence of unconscious thoughts that heavily influence
an individual s level of creativity (Ritter Dijksterhuis, 2014). Gilhooly, Georgiou, Garrison, Reston,
and Sirota (2012) found that immediate incubation periods facilitated in creative tasks, such as the
Alternative Uses Task (AUT), through unconscious processes. They suggested that delayed
incubation periods can be interfered by conscious processing before the incubation period had
initiated, where forgetfulness and unconscious processing are both occurring (Gilhooly et al.,
2012). In contrast, an immediate incubation period where only unconscious processing takes place
and subsequently followed by conscious problem solving post incubation, is more effective for
creativity (Gilhooly et al., 2012). Despite the supporting evidence, studies, such as Segal (2004),
concluded that his findings did not support the evidence of unconscious processing reported in the
current literature. Rather, his results supported his returning act hypothesis that incubation served
as a diversion to rearrange possible accurate assumptions when the participants returned to the target
task (Segal, 2004). Hence, this notion of mental rearranging involves conscious processing rather
than unconscious

Analysis of The Irish Way by James R. Barrett
Analysis
The book, The Irish Way by James R. Barrett is a masterpiece written to describe the life of Irish
immigrants who went to start new lives in America after conditions at home became un
accommodative. Widespread insecurity, callous English colonizers and the ghost of great famine
still lingering on and on in their lives, made this ethnic group be convinced that home was longer a
home anymore. They descended in United States of America in large numbers. James R. Barrett in
his book notes that these people were the first group of immigrants to settle in America. According
to him, there were a number of several ethnic groups that have arrived in America. It was, however,
the mass exodus of Irish people during and after the great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Situation was to change later as they etched themselves deeper into the American society. The more
days went by, the more they became Americans through and through. Assimilation was never by
design, choice or any predetermined action. It was shaped through day to day conflicts and through
interaction with other ethnic groups. Having a good advantage in English as their first language,
they were able to participate in various activities that later shaped their destiny. Their children were
able to attend schools. A number of various professionals were found in various economic sectors of
the country. There were numerous policemen and women, preachers and teachers a sign that clearly
indicated that they were coming of age and that they were slowly overcoming the challenges that
had bent them downwards. Soon they started making it into elective post. This was partly because
of their improved economic status and partly due to their personality. Barrett noted that these
people were activist and had embarked on various activities that benefited the community.
Another social conflict underlined in this book was the conflict between the Irish American citizen
and the citizens of Indian origin. Typically, Irish people looked down upon the Indian citizens. The
writer notes that the Irish people were slowly forgetting their own fate of how they too were the
subject of discrimination and callous victimization in the

New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al. (2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable consumer experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientiп¬Ѓc inquiry (Johnson 1999; Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into consumer behavior. In this article, we address the links between embodiment and consumer experiences in order to elucidate the contours of the aesthetic experience not just the process of thinking bodily but how the body affects the logic of our thinking about art. With this goal in mind, we revisit Kant s question in order to explore art museum experiences the simultaneity with which people see, hear, feel, taste, and smell art. • 4. A Comparison Of Pablo Picasso And Zaha Hadid Does one ever question what opposition to cultural trends can lead someone? What if they were to question they type of success that could erupt from dislocating and distorting one s work into a brand unique to no one but yourself? Pablo Picasso and Zaha Hadid were two of the most successful artists within the modernist movement. Both Picasso and Hadid laid the foundation for their success with a strong educational background. Each artist understood their sheer talent and works would not contribute to their succession alone. Picasso and Hadid sought the importance of defining one s brand on a global scale. Building a connection between a consumer and their product, both Picasso and Hadid knew that their talent and business practices would allow them to convey themselves naturally in a world immersed with commercialization. Their profound ability to know which patrons (sponsors) to conduct business with, and proper distribution without flooding the market, allowed Picasso and Hadid s work to stay in demand. Born to on October 25, 1881 to Jose Ruiz Blaso, Pablo Picasso did not know that he would become one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Displaying an extraordinary talent for art at a young age, Picasso s father (a professor of art) decided to mentor Picasso s passion for the lapiz. With the death of his sister at age thirteen, his family moved to Barcelona, where his father took a position in the School of Fine Arts. Pablo s father successfully ... The plight of these native peoples has been ignored and many times erased from the American conscience. They have struggled for acknowledgment, they have fought for equality and they have gone to battle for respect. Luis Valdezs play, Los Vendidos , is just one of many contributions to this effort. A powerfully moving play, Los Vendidos , or the sell outs , is a piece created to gain acknowledgement, heighten awareness and to create a sense of camaraderie amongst the people fighting in the Chicano Movement of the late 1960 s and 70 s. She is a secretary working for the governor s office that maintains a proper yet pompous American accent, and her hair is dyed a shade of platinum blond. She personifies the American aspiration to de Mexicanize the Mexican Americans. As she shops for a suitable used Mexican model the civic indifference and racism that the Mexican Americans have been forced to combat becomes progressively more apparent. Women, who have always accounted for half of the population, have not historically been recognized or respected for their contributions to society. In the past, all women have had to struggle against a chauvinistic world, but for minority women the fight has been even harder. For Mexican America women they have had two strikes against them in the eyes of America, not only were they Mexican and therefore prone to what those stereotypes entailed, but they were also women and therefore not deserving of any power or respect. When you start bowling every person is different on where they need to stand at and how far back or how far forward. By the time you bowl for a while you will find out on where you need to stand. When I first started bowling I just threw a ball down the lane. But now I throw a curveball that comes back inside. • 9. The American Dream Of Home Ownership Too many Americans have fallen victim to the crisis that has become the norm for our citizens these days. Lenders no longer want to work with individuals who have gone through the foreclosure process and for many it is not only their homes they lose. Some have lost their jobs and/or families, others fall into a deep depression and worst of all some have taken their own lives. An alternative would be for lenders to add a true customer service department which is not based on pay or get out, but is counseling based to keep Americans in the American Dream of home ownership. This would not only keep their customers for future business with new home loans, but would be noticed by neighbors and the community who are appreciative their home values are not decreasing. The lenders would counsel them through the sale by assisting them with getting the most they can for their home. By getting local community organizations involved to help with home repairs and curb appeal. Once the home is market ready and a dollar amount has been reached for these repairs the home owner will have to volunteer time and/or resources to assist another person going through the same situation. This would not only help the homeowner but will keep homes in the area selling at a fair market value and not bring down the values in their neighborhood. The assistance provided by the lenders and assistance from the community will help build their self confidence and make them feel like they are not alone. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Pros And Cons Of Advertisement As decades pass, advertisement and marketing methods are constantly evolving. Companies will lure buyers in with methodical discrete messages that are unrecognizable to readers. They will use a person s morals or values to attract their attention and create ingenious perspectives on common standards of the time period. Even children toy advertisements have underlying meanings; companies pay close attention to the smallest details and make sells by evoking a child to nag their parents to purchase their product. Like many toy companies, Fisher Price created a magazine ad in the 1980 s that displayed a shift in the typical roles of men and women in a household. Fisher Price released an appealing advertisement in 1987 for their Magic Vac, a battery free toy vacuum for children to enjoy. The main focal pointof the ad is the illustration of the boy vacuuming the house while the girl sits in a chair reading a newspaperwith her shoes off. Prior to the 1980s, the emblematic standard for women was to take care of the house and raise the children while the husband worked during the day. In the 80s, women began working outside of the homeand bringing in an income, this did not make them inferior to their husbands, but it did make some men uncomfortable. They were uncertain about the idea of their wife working and splitting household duties. Normally, men would come home from work and sit in their recliners with their feet propped up and shoes off reading the newspaper; the wives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Lack Of Education In Pakistan The future successes of a nation heavily depend on the way the nation grows, shapes, and teaches their children. Pakistan has no foreseeable success in their future because they do not invest in their children s education. In many countries, such as the United States, it is against the law for children to not attend school. In Pakistan, there is no such law requiring children to be formally educated. The lack of education of Pakistani youth today creates issues which will inevitably plague Pakistani citizens tomorrow. Pakistan has had many issues over the years regarding the education of Pakistan s children as seen through poverty, gendered roles, and terrorism. Upon the foundation of Pakistan, people had hoped education would one of the most significant focuses of the new government. However, the government did not focus on the central issue of education. Instead, constant conflict with India over Kashmir has been a primary concern which the Pakistani government has dealt with over the years. The Talibanand their threat of destabilizing the already unstable republic have also been a major presence in the government s mind. Pakistan has never been able to focus on aiding its people due to constant warfare and national security concerns. As a result, Pakistan does not regulate or assist in the education of its children. Evolution Of Drug Resistant Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Aniruddha Acharya Term paper BIOL 554 Spring 2015 Instructor Dr. Don Ennis Due date 4/27/2015 Title Evolution of drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Introduction Bacterial pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes tuberculosis a complex granulomatous disease which is a global health concern. It is a very slow growing bacteria, thus is extremely time consuming to culture in laboratory. It can survive the attack of the immune arsenal of our body; can successfully hide inside the macrophage. This makes long periods of uninterrupted antibiotic treatment necessary for the patients with tuberculosis and contributes to drug resistance very quickly [WHO 2014]. All this poses an extreme challenge to the scientists and the medical community to develop effective drug, monitor and treat this disease across globe. Before the discovery of anti tubercular drugs, this disease was one of the most dreaded diseases. In absence of any drugs the only form of treatment recommended was healthy diet, rest and fresh air. Patients were sent to Tuberculosis sanatorium hoping that they might survive. The origin of this pathogen is traced back to Africa around 70,000 years ago and they successfully coevolved with humans as they migrated out of Africa and settled across the globe. Nearly 10,000 years ago there was a sudden change in human demography and the human population density increased suddenly, this is termed as Neolithic Demographic Transition. Learning and Change in Organizations Learning and Change in Organizations We live in a dynamic world with constantly varying conditions and aspects that influence how we make business operations and manage resources. The varying conditions in different circumstances require a level of understanding that is made possible through learning. This essentially means that learning consistent with the varying condition is in order to stay in touch and articulate matters appropriately. Business operations cannot be expected to carry on in the similar ways as in the past with no considerations of what is happening in the modern world (Pless, 2007). Learning is a process of discovery that generates new understanding about ourselves and the world around us. Strategic learning is organizational learning that improves the strategic capability of the organization and changes the basic assumptions underlying the stable generation mechanism that structures the strategic behavior design process. Organizations have various levels of knowledge and learn at all levels (Stein Nelson, 2003). The levels of organizational learning interact, making higher order learning such as strategic learning problematic. Change resulting from learning need not be visibly behavioral. Learning may result in new and significant insights and awareness that dictate no behavioral change. In this sense the crucial element in learning is that the organism be consciously aware of differences and alternatives and have consciously chosen one of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Volcanoes have the effect of destroying everything in its path with its molten hot lava, but also allows some positive outcomes to occur such as precious jewels. Volcanoes are parts of the Earth s crust that have been forced in an upward position causing a mound like landform on the surface or in water. I intend on attending a number of events this week, including the Ghost Soliders Platoon, Sappers and Shrapnel Art Exhibition, Field of Remembrance and the main ceremony featuring the last post. At these events I will take a large amount of photos from different angles, in an effort to capture the grave feeling of this event in a single picture. I will use a close up shot to reveal the details in the face of a soldier, a low angle shot to uncover the shape of a well known statue and a combination of wide and high angle shots overlooking the poppies at both the field out the front of Pulteney and North Terrace. • 35. Summary Of Untitled By Gerald Dono The painting of Untitled by Gerald Donato displayed in the Taubman Museum in Roanoke allures attention by the chaotic combination of figural pieces and the collided whirlwind of vibrant yellows, oranges, greens, and undertones of black. The background information shares that Gerald Donato was a talented, beloved painter and teacher whose work anticipated references to important art historical developments. Ideological forces, such as familiar cartoon imagery, Steamboat Willie , and formally represented figures, are clearly influences in his work as his interest of hidden subject matter is visually bursted on an oil canvas. He created a blended cartoon like scene of abstraction and figuration by incorporating a mysterious feminine figureMoon face and a recurring character Mr. Man to embody a message of escaping from the spiral cage that represents the constraints in life. Mr. Donato borrowed images from past history and radically transformed these elements through his own blend of abstraction and figures to send a message about the conflict between society and individuals. The artist depicts an initial confusing and weirded out thought for the viewer at first glance, but as one deeply examines the art, the subject matter begins to become more clear. The vision being shared in this non objective painting has a context of placing one in the standing of Mr. Man by gaining height and freedom from the (white) bars that are rising on each level that represent conflict which traps one in a cage of misery. The unbalanced symmetry of having the left side take up more space with little action, and the right side being smaller with the action unraveling, makes the viewer break down each composite perspective. For the left side, the mysterious female muse, Moon Face, has an unproportional face that is almost blushing with shades of light pasty orange, with the mouth wide open. The energetic mood is amplified by the tone of yellow that is splashed in the mouth, representing a loss of words or at a state of disbelief. The female s lower half is created with tints of red that enhances the curves on her body, as if chiaroscuro connects the light and dark contrast to show outline of the breasts, stomach, and hips in ... It was this level of tolerance that shaped the way we ,should, behave today. The trading post lead to a decidedly corporate character, making growth difficult. These melting pots created new languages, culinary practices and even music a majority of which are still in practice today. In places like Alabama racism was and probably is still a huge issue. I believe this was derived from the caste system, which placed american americans at the bottom. They believe that human existence is fully explained without any references to spiritual occurrences. Secular humanists have no religion and reject the idea of faith and spirituality. Catholic view Through out history people have believed in God and have practiced religion. Religion provides meaning for people and it helps people answer the existential questions of life and also gives people a purpose bigger than their own. Christians believe that God shows us the way to meaning and purpose. There are three arguments for the existence of god the ontological, cosmological and religious experience. Ontological argument is for God is based on the ideas about nature of being, existence and reality. This argument is based entirely on reason. Incubation has been widely studied to understand performance, such as in problem solving, enhancing creativity, or its association with unconscious processing. Many studies have found supporting evidence for incubation as a facilitating mechanism for problem solving. Ritter and Dijksterhuis (2014) found that unconscious processing during a period of incubation can positively influence creativity. They argued that it is not only the lack of conscious processing during an incubation period, but rather the presence of unconscious thoughts that heavily influence an individual s level of creativity (Ritter Dijksterhuis, 2014). Gilhooly, Georgiou, Garrison, Reston, and Sirota (2012) found that immediate incubation periods facilitated in creative tasks, such as the Alternative Uses Task (AUT), through unconscious processes. They suggested that delayed incubation periods can be interfered by conscious processing before the incubation period had initiated, where forgetfulness and unconscious processing are both occurring (Gilhooly et al., 2012). In contrast, an immediate incubation period where only unconscious processing takes place and subsequently followed by conscious problem solving post incubation, is more effective for creativity (Gilhooly et al., 2012). Despite the supporting evidence, studies, such as Segal (2004), concluded that his findings did not support the evidence of unconscious processing reported in the current literature. Rather, his results supported his returning act hypothesis that incubation served as a diversion to rearrange possible accurate assumptions when the participants returned to the target task (Segal, 2004). Hence, this notion of mental rearranging involves conscious processing rather than unconscious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
