The Effect Of Ocean Acidification On The Rates Of Calcium...
INTRODUCTION/ABSTRACT For the past 200 years, the rapid increase in atmospheric CO2 continues to be
produced by, the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, industrialization, cement production, and other land use
changes. The ocean absorbs much of this excess CO2 through air sea gas exchange, resulting in changes in seawater
chemistry. Due to human made emissions, the CO2 content of the oceans has dramatically increased and is gradually
acidifying the surface waters. As a result of human made emissions, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and oceans
has increased dramatically during recent decades. In the ocean, the accumulating CO2 is gradually acidifying the
surface waters, making it difficult for shelled organisms such as corals and certain open sea plankton to build their
calcium carbonate skeletons. Since this process affects the functioning of several marine ecosystems, it has been
massively studied in recent years. However, getting an accurate measure is complicated because the effect of ocean
acidification on the rates of calcium produced by marine organisms is extremely variable and its species specific. Since
scientists incline to use local and site specific field measurements, treating reef environments and open sea
environments separately, their measurements reflect the local response of individual organisms to elevated CO2 levels,
leaving out the overall picture. RESEARCH Increasing concentrations of CO2 in the world s oceans has resulted with

Sacco And Bartolomeo Vanzetti Essay
The Sacco and Vanzetti Murder Trial
The murder trial of the Italians known as Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti was one of the most controversial
events during the 1920 s. The execution of the Italians by electric chair was wrongfully convicted given that there
wasn t enough evidence to prove that Sacco and Vanzetti were responsible for the armed robbery. In fact, many
commentators say that they were executed mainly for their political views and not for their so called actions. In my
opinion, the trial was never properly handled and they should have never been executed or at least not given a real
chance to defend themselves.
On april 15, 1920 an armed robbery took place in South Braintree, Massachusetts. Two businessmen were moving a
$15,000 payroll to different location when an automobile with two men inside showed up, shot them both and drove
away. This is where it all starts, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti are blamed for a crime they were never a part
of. I believe the police department assumed they were guilty for two major reasons. 1) Mr. Sacco owned a gun of the
same type that was used in the crime scene back in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nicola became a shoe maker in a factory and Vanzetti became a fish vendor. When they were arrested, police officers
had even more reason to suspect that they were criminals who liked to get away with their crimes. At this time, Sacco
and Vanzetti were interrogated and pressured to confess a crime they had nothing to do with. The big disadvantage of
knowing very little english put them in a bad position and they were about to face one of the biggest murder trials of

Hunter S. Tompson and Gonzo Journalism Essay
Hunter S. Tompson and Gonzo Journalism In the late sixties a young journalist and free lance novelist named Hunter
S. Thompson (HST) emerged with a new, crazed and exaggerated brand of reporting. It was sooner or later referred to
as Gonzo . HST s own definition of gonzo has varied over the years, but he still maintains that a good gonzo journalist
needs the talent of a master journalist, the eye of an artist/photographer and the heavy balls of an actor and that gonzo
is a style of reporting based on William Faulkner s idea that the best fiction is far more true than any kind of
journalism (Carroll, page 192). Gonzo journalism has also been referred to as outlaw journalism, new journalism,

Steadman s work will be found on the title page to this essay). As the deadline for the article approached, and with the
article still incomplete, HST resorted to ripping out pages of his notebook and sending them to the editors. What
resulted was the beginning of gonzo journalism. Many see gonzo journalism to be a variation of a theme, which began
with new journalism in the 60 s, led primarily by author Tom Wolfe. (The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, etc.) New
Journalism was said to have broken all the rules of traditional journalism. The old style journalists were supposed to
take an objective point of view in their articles. The new journalists were far more subjective, getting personally
involved in the stories they were reporting. New journalism really isn t new at all. Objectivity has been the great myth
of journalism. As hard as media sources try to be objective, they can never truly achieve it. Everything from space
limitations (a journalist must decide what is and what is not important enough to fit into a column) to illustrations (this
gives readers a non objective picture in their head about the issue) infringe on objectivity. New journalism and gonzo
journalism alike pay no regard to the objectivity laws of journalism and instead focus their works very little on the
facts but on the facts , as they

Essay On The Crucible Charlie Chaplin
Arthur miller s play the crucible and the film the king in New York directed by Charlie Chaplin explores the way
politics and people are intertwined. Both these composers, through their texts, sagaciously convey the notion of how
oppressive politics can be. They instil on the responder of the way in which politics can ruin and lead both people and
societies to destruction when given too much power. Arthur miller and Charlie Chaplin were profoundly affected by
the mass hysteria of communism led by the politician Joseph McCarthy that happened in America in the 1950 s. They
suffered under the political tyranny of the house of Un American activities (HUAC) when they were accused of
supporting the communist ideology. Amid the political disarray, Chaplin was exiled ... Show more content on

This is revealed through the character Abigail. Abigail s control of others is demonstrated when she smashes betty
across the face . Through the stage direction, miller conveys the power and authority Abigail possesses. Abigail resorts
to such actions due to the conformity of theocratic societies which deemed people who danced as devils. The extent to
which she is willing to go to hide this fact is portrayed when she threatens the girls by stating the she will bring a
pointy reckoning that will shudder you . Through the high modality of her threatening voice, the responder glimpses
the power motivation can bring in a political system that seeks to oppress others. Moreover, Abigail challenges the
theocratic society through the symbolism of her rising up to Danforth, who is seen as the embodiment of the theocratic
society. Through this stage direction, miller demonstrates the way rebellion can be engendered by political systems
that repress its people. In summary, political systems can engender mass chaos when certain individuals stand up to the

Case Study The Trap-Ease Mousetrap
The Trap Ease Mousetrap
If a man [can]... make a better mousetrap than his neighbor...the world will make a beaten path to his door.
True, but only if the world perceives more value in it than the next door neighbor s.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the publicity and the proven uniqueness of Trap Ease mousetrap, both demand and sales fall radically short of
expectations. The purpose of this analysis is to identify the root of the problem and how it can possibly be solved.
Price
It was stated in the article that the Trap Ease was approximately five to ten times more expensive than the standard
traps already present in the market. This is largely due to the innovative concept of trapping mice in a mess free
method, and not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The target market does not seem to be comfortable using such an expensive tool for everyday mice control.
Furthermore, the product has been introduced as something disposable. If customers had to buy these mousetraps and
use them only for a brief period of time, they would certainly not pay five times as much if a cheaper one is available.
Product
Though change is constant, most people are not used to welcoming it with eagerness and enthusiasm. So too with new
products. It would take much effort and creativity for new products to penetrate a market that already consists of
similar merchandise. How a new product will fare would rely highly on several factors such as quality, design,
features, brand name, packaging, and services offered.
With its proven usefulness and effective trapping mechanism, the traditional mousetrap has very well gained its niche
in society over the years. Trap Ease, possessing a rather unique approach to mouse trapping, offers quality inventories
made of plastic which guarantees the full proof mechanism.
Its design and features enable consumers to avoid having direct physical contact with the mouse throughout the whole
ordeal of setting up, trapping, and disposing of the revolting creature. Opposite this is the traditional mousetrap where
one has to personally pull the metal spring bar to set the trap. Once a mouse is locked in,

Is Man Inherently Evil
The Evil Within In Thomas Hobbes book Leviathan he writes that man is selfish, poor, and brutish. He believes that
man is inherently evil and their selfishness leads to war and negative things (SAT). I agree with Hobbes. Man is
inherently evil because people spread hate and commit atrocities. One reason it is evident that man is inherently evil is
because people spread hatred. Social media is used today on a day to day basis, it is such a huge platform for
communication and entertainment. What it s supposed to be used for though, may not be how people are using it.
People take advantage of the fact that you can be anonymous on social media and say hurtful things to people. They

pledged ISIS Allegiance , they describe it as a definitive Act of hate . The terrorist attack claimed 49 lives of the LGBT
community and injured many more. The Pulse shooting was the biggest Massacre in United States history. This shows
how evil man can be because they commit mass murders without a specific reason or outcome simply because man
feels hate. If man was born good, then why would they commit mass murders? It clearly shows man is evil because
man killed innocent people and a good person would never take someone s life. Also man destroys the world they live
in. In the article Top 10 Environmental Issues Caused By Humanity The Worst it states that deforestation, industrial
mining, and untreated sewage are just some of the issues man has created for this earth. Take industrial mining, mining
for gold is for man s benefit. They do so much destruction to the surface of the earth just to find a couple ounces of
gold! This is an atrocity! So much surface area is destroyed and mercury is released into the air harming the planet,
only for the benefit and selfishness of humanity. Brutalizing and destroying so much land for only a couple ounces of
gold shows the selfishness of man. This proves man is evil because destroying the earth is a big atrocity for the earth
and humankind. It affects every living thing on this planet and it is an evil act against humanity because it harms the

Employment For Former Prisoners Essay
Former prisoners face larger barriers because US current policies are preventing or decreasing their chance of
obtaining certain jobs that will dominate the market in the next twenty years. According to the U.S. Department of
Justice, nearly every person in jail, and 95 percent of state prison inmates, will someday be released; however, about
68% may return to prison (goodwill). Former incarcerated individuals are often ineligible to obtain any financial
assistance that will allow them to enroll in post secondary institutions, which is required by many high demand
industries. According to transitional jobs (2006), ...not only does steady employment have a tremendous impact on the
financial status and self respect of the individuals who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, former incarcerated individuals will become in danger of remaining a permanent lower class because
they have many limitations on the type of jobs that will be available to them, which mostly pays minimum wages. To
make matters worse, many former incarcerated individuals do not obtain much education, which will diminish their
ability of facing the challenges of 21st century workforce and reduce any chance for a high quality of life. Many
inmates may possibly entered prison without obtaining any high school credentials, which could be one of the reasons
that recidivism remains prominent. Three quarters of state prison inmates are dropouts, as are 59% of federal inmates.
In fact, dropouts are 3.5 times more likely than high school graduates to be incarcerated in their lifetime (AYPF).
Many of these prisoners may have been incarcerated for a long period of time; consequently, causing their skills to
become more obsolete compare to skills that were required before they entered the penal system. The development of
technology, scientific, and medical programs may not be as prominent and sophisticated as it was before their arrest,
especially since United States just recently proposed implementing 21st century courses in secondary institutions.
State prisoners average a tenth grade education and score below their grade level on cognitive tests (Western 2008).
They will have to start with lower level courses if they want to

Affordable Health Care
I too believe that healthcare should be a right for all citizens. Health is defined by the World Health Organization
(WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being (Macionis, 2015, p. 267). Preventative and acute
care is important to maintain health and is needed by everyone in the world. Since the creation of the Affordable Care
Act many have argued the negative repercussions of the program often neglecting the positives. The fact is, most
working adults (59.5%) are offered insurance for themselves and their families at a discounted rate through their
employers (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2013). Despite a 10% decline in employers that offer insurance
compared to 2011, the option is still available for half of the working population (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation,
2013). Small business owners that employ fifty or more employees are eligible to provide subsidized health insurance
for their employees (HealthCare.gov, 2016). In addition, 30.1% of American s utilize either Medicaid or Medicare, a
government program that aids or supplements insurance cost ( Medicare and Medicaid, Age and Income Random
Samplings, 2013) . The Affordable Care Act asks that the other 8.4% of the population purchase health care through
the marketplace where they are able to select and tailor their health care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is it with the government, with employers that chose not to offer health insurance to their employees, or with the
insurance companies that charge enormous rates to increase their profits? In my opinion, it lies with the insurance
companies. Their bottom line is profit! If the rates provided were truly affordable everyone would have access to
health care and it would truly be a right. However, private insurance companies, a multi billion dollar business, is
invested in the profitability of illness not keeping people healthy. The Affordable Care Act is working to eliminate
health care disparity leading to a healthier

charged with criminal infractions consisting of breaking and entering his parent s home in the middle of the night, as
well as physically assaulting them. Murrow constantly theorizes about a conspiracy plot against him and has
consistently displayed episodes of paranoid, delusional behavior. Murrow s erratic behavior is marked by the belief
that his parents are conspiring with his doctor to force him to take psychopharmaceuticals. The delusional ideation is

A Hanging By George Orwell Essay
A Hanging By George Orwell
A Reflective Essay on the Short Story A Hanging by George Orwell
The short story A Hanging by George Orwell illustrates the experience and intrigues surrounding the hanging of a
Hindu prisoner in Burma. Orwell dwells on the inhuman nature of capital punishment and how the hangmen disregard
the dignity of human life to commit a prisoner to the gallows. Unarguably, the purpose of this non fiction story is to
persuade the readers of the horrifying injustice of subjecting a convict to the death penalty. As this reflective paper
shall present, throughout the short story, the author intelligently uses irony and sarcasm to manipulate the mood of the
audience thereby convincing the readers of his criticism of capital punishment and the barbaric administration of
justice in the Burma prisons.
To begin with, Orwell is explicitly against any administration of capital punishment on convicts. He describes capital
punishment as not only mysterious and unjustified, particularly when the individual is in his most potential stage of
life (Orwell, 2). In addition, he expresses his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is surprising that even the dog disapproves of capital punishment and behaves strangely as the Hindu man is escorted
to the gallows. The actions of the dog as the man is being escorted to the gallows as the author describes demonstrates
the equality of every human being. The dog does not discriminate against anybody and instead embraces the
condemned man (Orwell, 2). This is a very symbolic action and with the surprise that ensued, there is a clear
indication of the discontentment in having to take somebody s life. Clearly, the symbolism of the dog creates an irony
on how human beings have failed to use their conscience to understand the value of human life. It also demonstrates
Orwell s position on capital punishment one that killing a human being is

To What Extent Was Grass Roots Activism a Significant...
To what extent was grass roots activism a significant reason to why the Civil Rights Movement Grew in the 1950s and
1960s
The civil rights movement grew for a number of reasons during the 1950 s and 1960s. Prior to this select time period
America were fighting in the Cold War and many black soldiers battled in the name of freedom . This was ironic as
these black soldiers were fighting for something that they didn t even have back home. Often Black soldiers talked
about the Double V Campaign ; this was referring to victory in the war and victory for civil rights back home in the
USA. Many historians believe that world war two planted seeds in the growth of the civil rights movement as it raised

This organisation supported much more aggressive actions and believed in self defence and retaliations against white
mobs and policemen. Huey Newton s main aim was: An immediate end to police brutality and the murder of black
people. The Black panthers appealed to the new generation of blacks and those who had generally a more aggressive
view on the situation. The fact that different parties existed meant that the CRM had more supporters as it has
supporters from both violent and non violent sides; this in the big picture benefited the cause for CRM and helped it
grow.
The change in president s actions and beliefs also helped the growth of the CRM. Presidents such as Truman and
Eisenhower began to take action overruling states inactions to ignore the federal government, thus effectively aiding
blacks bid for civil rights. A good example showing how president s attitudes were changing is the little rock nine
cases in Arkansas, 1957. When nine black students were disallowed entry into the city high school by governor of
Arkansas orders to send state soldiers to stand outside the premises to avoid entry, President Eisenhower felt he had to
intervene. He ordered 1000 US soldiers to protect the black children on their way to school from the mob of angry
white parents opposing desegregation in schools. Eisenhower s actions showed that he was prepared to make drastic
action in order for integration amongst blacks and white children in schools. He used his authority

Why The Bear Came Over The Mountain
After reading the short yet well written short story, I truly agree the portrayal of the modern age men in this society. In
the story, The Bear Came Over the Mountain by Alice Munro, I realised what Grant has to experienced and I felt
sympathy and how he deserves it the same time, rather a controversial true opinion.
I think the author clearly shows the selfishness of men through Grant as he is a typical man trying to fulfil his own
pleasures by courting women that went to his lectures in university. I felt that the author again emphasized on it as the
work driven Grant ended up taking an early retirement just because Fiona had inherited property after her dad s
passing. In the end, I think that human in the modern society much less have the same selfish attitude as they will
strive to get the things they thirst for in life, no matter the consequences after. As Grant said, You ve made a new
friend. to his Alzheimer diseased wife, I feel the author wants us to know of the jealousy of men and which amplifies
greatly in the role that I think Grant is very suitable for because of his controlling ways. Ironically, I feel that the same

hand, I admire of Grant s consistency of finding ways to make her wife happy even though it meant letting her having

Social Media And Its Impact On Public Sector
Literature Review
Social media provides the voice, in other words, social network and media connect company or organisation with its
audience. Nowadays, social networking plays a significant role in any organisation. It is much easier for private sector
to be linked with the social media, rather than for public sector. Public sector includes all organisations, which are
owned or operated by the government, and exist to provide services to citizens (PrivacySense.net, n.d.). Waste
management and recycling is one of the components of public sector.
Social technologies, Web 2.0, Gov 2.0.

Thus, it can be suggested for waste management company to use Twitter and Facebook as a primary social media
platforms for external communications, in order to communicate with citizens on day to day basis and keep them
updated. As for internal communications within the company, the best is to use LinkedIn, so employees can be aware
of what is going on in the company, and build a relationship with each other. Furthermore, the term, such as Gov 2.0,
has to be mentioned. Government 2.0 (Gov 2.0) can be described as the use of information technology (IT) to
commoditise and socialise government services and processes (DiMaio, 2009). When Gov 2.0 and Web 2.0 works
together, it has a positive impact on the link between public sector organisation, government, and citizens.
The importance and purpose of social digital tools in waste management sector
Waste management and recycling services have been using the traditional tools of communication to reach the
audience, such as print advertisement, brochures and flyers. Through out the time the way to do business and
communicate with audience has changed, as the digital technology become more advance. These changes have
affected all the industry, including the waste and recycling sector. It seems that organization within this sector have
been always putting the importance of digital technologies and opportunities of social media on the back burner.

The House On Mango Street Rhetorical Analysis
As Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for females, once said, I raise up my voice not so I can shout, but so that
those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back. Malala is advocating for young
females, giving them a voice that they may not have. She is demonstrating how being a female should be liberating,
and women should not feel held back by their gender. In The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros speaks of a
similar idea. As Malala indicates, Cisneros also indicates how being a woman can be empowering; however, Cisneros
also establishes how being a woman raised in a marginalized community can have adverse mental and physical
repercussions. Through countless stories and the motif of women sitting by windows, Cisneros ratifies how draining it
is to be an average woman in Esperanza s community. In The House on Mango Street, women by windows depict
women trapped by their families, specifically their husbands, maturing into a disturbing image that portrays the failure
to be an individual that makes her own decisions. In the vignette Rafaela Who Drinks Coconut and Papaya Juice on
Tuesdays, the author tells of a woman who is too beautiful to look at, saying, Rafaela who ... wishes there were
sweeter drinks, not bitter like an empty room, but sweet sweet like the island, like the dance hall down the street where
women much older than her throw green eyes easily like dice and open homes with keys (Cisneros 80). Rafaela is
yearning to be able to leave her home like the women she envies. She compares the bitterness of her fruit drinks to the
desolation and seclusion of the house, and wishes the drinks were sweeter, expressing her looking out the window and
longing for something more in life, like the fortunate few women in her community have. A character Esperanza
knows named Sally has received abuse from her father, and when she gets married, Esperanza says, She says she is in
love, but I think she did it to escape (Cisneros 101) and, She sits at home because she is afraid to go outside without
his permission (Cisneros 102). Sally tried to get away from her father s physical abuse, but in doing so, she is now
living the life of a woman by the window, a

disruption of testosterone secretion and the overcoming of ram sexual behaviors.
The scale of the testicles is well correlated to the synthesis functionality of the sperm and further gonadal sperm

the mass of the reproductive organs [Lino et al., 1972; Notter et al., 1987] and the level of testes development [Lunstra

efficacy of the vaccine on gonadal features. Analysis of the sub physiological contents of testicles revealed a direct
relationship between the steroid and spermatogenic production. Our research finding shows that the vaccine has a
strong effect on the scrotal circumference of immunized ram lambs compared with the control ram lambs (P 0.05).
Furthermore, the microscopic histological outcomes of testicles indicate that the vaccinated ram lambs indicated lower
masses of spermatogonium, spermatocytes, and spermatids. The histological observation revealed smaller

Humanities Human Figure in Art Work Essay
Humanism vs. Realism with Focus of Human Figure Artwork
Middle Eastern, Egyptian and Greek Civilizations
Throughout history the human figure has been demonstrated in Middle Eastern, Egyptian and Greek sculptures and

areas, resources and events thus, giving them the idea for the theme of the art they create. These are the reasons that
might explain their commonalities or differences in the representation of the human figure.

and impressed all the big authorities of the game on his debut, scoring 151 and consequently helping Australia to
victory. He has also captained the side for about 4 years and 5 months now and has been very successful with leading
his team throughout the good and difficult times. He has proven to be one of the most successful captains Australia has

American Pie Essay
American Pie
With every aspect of our lives we are making a point, arguing a belief, or refuting some other aspect of our existence.
Aesthetic pieces, most avidly poems and songs, argue a message both in the lyrics and in the meaning posed between
the lines. American Pie, in a multitude of ways, argues that American lives and memories are closely intertwined with
the music of the time period. Not only does American Pie argue a message it also pulls many generations together.
Today, thirty years after the initial release, American Pie still has an effect in our music and continues to be popular
with all age groups. Don McLean accomplishes this task through using the context of the time period, placement of

Essentially, the late 1960s and early 1970s are an in between stage for America, where people were exploring the many
options in their lives. The release of American Pie in 1971 was a landmark in pop music history because the song was
eight minutes and thirty two seconds long. Later, it was divided up into two parts and then turned into the version that
is known today (www.don mclean.com). Now that the time period that surrounded the release of American Pie is
established it is easier to understand the song because it can be read more in context.
The music of American Pie harkens back to a time of rock n roll, pianos, and acoustic guitars. A time when the music
was upbeat and peppy, causing you to want to jump up and dance. However, the music during the time of its creation
lacks the calming effect that is acquainted with the music of previous eras. American Pie embodies many qualities of
the music during the 1950s, including the simplicity of the chord structures overall, the clear vocals, and well known
and used instruments. With the use of simple but repetitive chords, Don McLean is able to shift the attention from the
musical facet of the song back to the lyrics and the individual person listening to it.
At the opening of American Pie, Don McLean starts the song at a slow pace but then progressively speeds up the pace
through the first chorus. After the first chorus the music

Change Management Essay
Change Management
Change is not something to be taken lightly. This issue of change is one of the greatest challenges in the workplace
today (Fralix, P., 1998). One of the pitfalls of change within an organization is employees fear of what change will
bring. Will implementing new technologies destroy my job? Will I be able to keep up with the changes in my
organization? These are some of the questions that bring about employee apprehension to changes in business. This
very apprehension can determine the success or the failure of change within that system. Yet change is inevitable.
Much like the Darwinian theory of survival, the company that can adapt with changes in emerging technologies will
survive in today s society. So how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since change is inevitable, ongoing process, these management levers must constantly be altered also (1997).
Even though this is not an altogether accurate definition from an instructional technology standpoint, it does contain
factors about change management. Most companies are concerned with aligning themselves with their marketplace.
Who hasn t seen a PetSmart or a KayBee s commercial where the consumer may order his/her toys for either pet or
human online. These corporations have aligned themselves to their marketplace Ebusiness. Another factor in change
management is the tools to accomplish this smooth transition. Most companies will agree that one must look at
strategy, operations of the actual and the optimal systems, culture of the work environment, and incentives to those
who facilitate the smooth changes. Also change is an ongoing process, so management of that change is also going to
be an ongoing process. In order to prepare for change within the company, it is important to identify any destabilizing
forces that bring about change.
Change can be stimulated by three specific forces external and three specific internal forces to the organization

Ethical Theories Of Normative Ethics
Over the last couple of weeks in Philosophy 103, we learned five theories concerning normative ethics: utilitarianism,
duty ethics, virtue ethics, care ethics, and natural law ethics. While learning about those theories, I often thought about
how the arguments for some theories included interesting ideas that I personally agreed with, but the methods of
reasoning were somewhat lacking. Contrastingly, I encountered theories with arguments that were not thought
provoking ideas at first, but I became acclimated to them due to the logical and well thought out methodologies. In this
essay, I will argue for my own normative ethical theory; an act is right if it is virtuous and conductive towards
relationships with other people and wrong if it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A person who practices virtue attempts to live a well balanced and stable life. While I recognize Aristotle s argument,
the argument itself presents people as isolated human beings who try to be virtuous, or at least attempt to, with no
consideration of how our interactions with others affect us and, therefore, affect what is considered right and wrong.
The lack of reflection on how interpersonal relationships affect morality is where Virginia Held s view completes my
normative ethical theory. Her view of care ethics establishes the importance of relationships with others, as people
depend on one another to some capacity. Virginia Held declares that an act is right if it nurtures a relationship and
wrong if it does not. What is significant about Held s methodology is that it considers the feminine perspective of
caring for someone, which many philosophers did not consider when making their arguments. The importance of
interpersonal relationships in care ethics is something that is certainly applicable to this day and age. With new
technology and globalization, our capacity to interact with others has greatly increased, and to dismiss our
connectedness while making a normative ethical theory in the modern era would be irrational. Aristotle s virtue ethics
and care ethics could then be

For example, we could calculate the IQ difference for each subject by subtracting their IQ while taking a placebo from
their IQ while taking the new drug. If our sample average was positive, it would mean that, on average, our subjects
had a higher IQ while they were taking the experimental drug than they had while taking the placebo.
In this case, we might choose these as our hypotheses:
Null hypothesis: The difference between IQ while the subjects were taking the drug and while the subjects were taking
the placebo is 0. (The population average is 0).
Alternative hypothesis: The IQ of the subjects was higher while they were taking the drug than while they were taking
the placebo. (The population average is greater than 0).

5. If the total sample size is over 15, two sample t tests are safe if there are no outliers and there is no strong skewness.
6. If the total sample size is over 40, two sample t tests tend to be very safe even if the data is strongly skewed.

Again, these are rules of thumb and don t always apply. In fact, two sample t tests are much more robust than one

Nursing theories have also made their influence on patient care and outcome. The theory I have chosen to treat in this
paper is Roy s adaptation Model. The Roy s model is about adaptation. It has four key concepts, the person, health,
environment and nursing. The Roy s adaptation model states a person is a bio psych social being in constant
interaction with a changing environment. The adaptation has two subsystems. First the cognator subsystem which is a
major coping process involving four cognitive emotive channels: perceptual and information processing, learning,
judgment, and emotion. And secondly the regulator subsystem which is a basic type of adaptive process that responds
automatically through neural, chemical, and endocrine coping channels. ANALYSIS OF NURSING THEORY
Nursing theories have been a major contributor to nursing education, it has helped create a focus. Nursing theories
have also helped healthcare professional, managers and patients make unique contributions to health care. According
to Im, E. Chang, S.J. (2012) Believing that the trends of focusing on specifics in theoretical works, close linkage to
research, and integration to practice are positive in the sense that the close linkage to research could provide solid
grounds for theoretical development in nursing and that the specifics could facilitate and strengthen the linkages

The Problems Of Year-Round Schooling
Alan Dessoff reports that year round schooling may or may not be on track. One problem that a lot of schools are
having is overcrowding. More than 2 million students, in 3,000 schools, in 47 states were attending year round school
in 2006 2007. The numbers are still accurate today. This is a problem because there is not enough room for that many
students year round. Year round schooling is also costing schools a lot more money than the regular 180 day calendar.
Bus fare, lunches, and staff attendance is costing schools a lot of money that most schools cannot afford. Year round
schooling also may affect high school children more than it affects elementary and junior high students because
students in grades 9 12 are looking for summer jobs. One

botulinum causes the botulism disease, which kills through muscle paralysis. The article additionally specifies that the
muscles used in breathing become dysfunctional from the prevention of the release of acetylcholine; thus, people
infected by C. botulinum most often die from oxygen deprivation. Pursuing this further, Deborah Josko, a clinical
laboratory scientist, clarifies that these bacteria result in three categories of botulism foodborne, wound, and infant
botulism. Moreover, Josko articulates that unless proper care is initially administered, the deterioration of the
respiratory system can potentially lead to death. When ingested, botulinum toxin works its way through the body and
causes many difficulties. The Johns Hopkins working group on civilian biodefense has stated that this neurotoxin
functions by affecting the central nervous system. When someone has contracted the botulism disease, it is necessary
for them to use mechanical ventilation in order to breathe often for prolonged periods of time. Additionally, an article

Essay On The Second Great Awakening
The Second Great Awakening was known as a religious revival that occurred throughout the United States. This
Awakening took place during the late eighteenth century and lasted through the middle of the nineteenth century.
However, this religious movement was greatly forced among the Northeast and the Midwest. In addition to being a
religious movement, other reforms took place socially including women s and slaves rights, and contributions to

The Rapid Growth Of Population Essay
Introduction:
The reason I chose this topic is because in my country Ethiopia the rapid growth of population alarmed me, just around
the 1965 our population was very low however in the past few years it has tripled form 20 million to over 100 million.
This was when my interest in my countries population developed. Population is one of the conversational topics when
talking about a countries profile, in view of the fact that it plays a huge role, in a countries work force, consumption
and economy. I will be collecting data and modelling them to predict the population for the next 5 to 10 years. I will
also be doing this for Kenya to see the relationship between the two countries to prove that this rapid growth of
population is happening not only in our country but in our neighboring countries too.
The data collected is imprecise because it is affected by many variables. The mortality rate of the people in Ethiopia
can affect my data highly. During this time Ethiopia had a high rate of migration, this could also be included as one of
the variables that have affected my data. I will be using this set of data to draw a graph so that I can generate a model
to represent this data so that I can use it to predict the population after five years.

Clausewitz On Nature And Character Of War
Clausewitz on Nature and Character of War
There are no universal theories to explain the true nature and character of war, and any war theories are not a fact or
absolute truth. All strategic principles are dynamic and contextual, so every age had its own kind of war, its own
limiting conditions, and its own peculiar preconceptions. The battlefield environment of the 21st century will be the
volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, and nature of war will be completely different because of the Revolution
in Military Affairs. Highly advance communication and information technologies, a dramatic increase in computing
capabilities, developed of precision munitions, dominant air and space power war could be waged by the projection of

A theory is relevant to educate the mind of future commander and guide them to self education.
To developed the war theory, Clausewitz used the Dialectic approach, which is a method of philosophical argument
that involves contradictory process between opposing ideas to establish the truth, propounded by the German
philosopher G W F Hegel. His thesis on war is an absolute war. According to him total or absolute war carry out with
the utmost violence for unlimited aims, and there is no logic limit to the application of available all power. On total
war both warring fraction could not suspend their military operation and hostilities until one or other side finally
defeated, or fully discharge His antithesis is historical evidence and his own experience of war. By interaction between
these thesis and antithesis, Clausewitz develops Synthesis (theory of war).
Nature and Character of War
Nature of war which usually remains unchanged irrespective of changes in environment or war. Four elements of
nature of war are; greater political nature , human dimension , uncertainty , and final one is contest of wills. The trinity
of war, Clausewitz s famous theory, comprises three basic elements of warfare are people; the second commander and
his army; and the third the government, essential basis for successful military operations. He describes these three

Things Fall Apart Analytical Essay
A Christian Missionary is a person who is called by God to preach his word. Their job is to spread to everyone. Mr.
Brown is a more effective Christian Missionary than Reverend Smith. Mr. Brown is willing to make an effort to
understand Igbo s beliefs. He didn t try to tell them what they believed in was wrong. Mr. Brown made the people of
Umuofia have a feeling of growth again. He told them that everything was possible. (Things Fall Apart 178) He didn t
come in trying to tell the people of Umuofia what to do; his first impression was easy going. By him being so generous
it earned him a lot of respect from the clan. Ross W. Sanderson argues, that Professor Patterson stated in his very
interesting discussion of the relation of the pleasure and pain economies says: Christ is not the God of war and hate,
but the God of peace and love. (Unapologetic Christianity 34) Being hateful doesn t get you anywhere in life. The
Umuofia people respected Mr. Brown so much that they presented him with a carved elephant tusk, which was a sign
of dignity and rank. (Things Fall Apart 179) Mr. Brown was very likeable because he took the time out to actually

that all the other Gods are false (Things Fall Apart 179) Benjamin B. Warfields argues, that They do not declare,

the Christians of today themselves as Christians have had no relations with Jesus. (Christless Christianity 426) Mr.

Faden Vs Disney Essay
The purpose of copyright law is to protect a creator and their original work from being used without appropriate
reasoning falling under fair use, as well as being used without permission from the creator. Fair use can be defined as a
doctrine that allows portions of a copyrighted work to be used without the creator s permission as long as it is only for
commentary, parody, criticization, or educational purposes.
In the fictional case of Professor Faden versus Walt Disney Studios, I have decided to take the side of Professor Faden.
Professor Faden claims fair use in this case. He claims the purpose of his video, containing small portions of Disney s
copyrighted movies, to be a display of education and remix. Those two, do, in fact, fall under ... Show more content on

To determine a case of fair use, all of those factors must be taken into consideration before the judge may make a final
ruling.
When looking into the first factor of fair use, purpose and character used, Faden states his point that his video is used
for educational purposes. When you actually go back and watch the video for yourself, you see immediately that the
video is clearly made in good character with good intentions, as well as that the nature of the work is educationally
based, which brings us to the second factor in determining the fair use of a copyright case.
The second factor in the determination of fair use is indeed the nature of the copyrighted work, as mentioned
previously. As Professor Fade stated, the nature of his video was for educational purposes, which can be observed
rather obviously. He also stated that his video could fall into the category of remix. A remix is a new version or
rendition of a previously existing work, most common in the music industry. Professor Faden s Fair(y) Use Tale, may
comprehensively be seen to be a remix, proving to obey the second factor of fair use

There is no universally acknowledged meaning of change management. Nickols (2010) claimed that each one the
definitions of change management may be classified into four perspectives especially change management as
undertaking of overseeing alteration, as a zone of talented follow, as an assemblage of information and as a bearing
mechanism.

The Success Of Any Business
The success of any business can be traced back to management. For this reason, managers need to be able to adapt to
and address the changing needs of not only their customs, but even more importantly, their employees. Change is
always occurring, and the manner in which an employee s needs are attended to in present day society, is rather
different from that of 100 years ago. The development from the 19th and early 20th century management strategies, to
the current management understanding, was not a change that occurred overnight. It was a gradual movement from the
earliest management philosophy, the Classical Perspective, to the Scientific Management Approach, to today s
Humanistic Perspective. Developed in the 19th century, the Classical Perspective addressed the issue of maximizing
efficiency. Historically, during this time period, a majority of people in the workforce were immigrants with no
previous training or knowledge of the jobs they were set to perform. Thus, managers were burdened with the task of
converting these unskilled workers into employees who performed their jobs correctly and in a timely manner, despite
cultural barriers, in attempt to turn businesses into efficient operating machines. The problems in industry during this
time, such as managing huge unskilled labor forces in factories, dealing with complex production systems, and
managing an expansive manufacturing operation, were the sole focus of the Classical Perspective. This perspective did

Music in Our Everyday Lives
Our everyday lives are affected by music. People listen to it in the car, while grocery shopping, in the movies, at home,
and practically anywhere else possible. There are many different types and styles of music, the most influential being
Hip Hop/Rap music, followed by Rock and Roll. Music is often a mood altering device used to make the listener feel a
sense of belonging, happiness, or sorrow. The different genres of music can be used to describe a certain group of
people, whether it be by clothing, style, attitude, or sometimes ones social class. Hip Hop/Rap music is believed to
have the most influence on the way a listener of that genre, acts and carries on their life. (Lommel 244)

In the underground music scene, bands sometimes will not even have enough money to rent a cheap hotel for a night to
catch up on sleep, as well as bathe, certain kids from the area the band has played last will offer them food, a hot
shower, as well as a place to sleep that night. (Greenwald 141) This would never be possible in the underground rap
scene.
The Tightness of the Indie scene is one that has been a reason for the success of many bands that have worked their
way to the top. Yellowcard is a band that has recently found huge success with their last album Ocean Avenue . The
reason this band had so much initial support and record sales for their album, was because of the underground s love
for this band. A certain website called Absolutepunk.net was one of the biggest reasons this band found success in
huge numbers the way that they were able to do so. (Du Nover 119) This further shows the way today s underground
scene is one of the tightest there has ever been. There are many different noticeable ways in which the type of music a
person listens to, ties into their daily activities. The most prominent is clothing style, as well as physical appearance.
The Punk Rock/Emo teenager, has a certain type of dress that often involves a few of the following things, hair that is
short in back but long in front, or hair that is multi colored and long, a certain fondness of facial piercings, as well as

The Pregnancy Outreach And Birth Mothers
For my cultural plunge, I decided to sit in at a birth mothers care group for women who decided to give their child or
children up for adoption. This care group is one of many care groups held by Crisis Pregnancy Outreach. Crisis
Pregnancy Outreach, or CPO is a nonprofit organization assisting women in crisis, such as those experiencing
unplanned pregnancies. Their main mission is to help woman find alternate solutions to unplanned pregnancies that do
not result in abortion.
Each week women gather at Christian Chapel, a church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to meet with mentors to discuss what they
endured that week. There are several different care groups. The most attended groups are the parenting and birth
mothers groups. I decided to sit in at a birth mothers group, which was uncomfortable for me. This care group is held
for birth mothers who have gave their child or children up for adoption. Some of the birth mothers experience open
adoption, meaning they have some form of communication with their birth children. Although some birth mothers
obtain closed adoptions, where they have no communication with their birth children.
This experience was very eye opening for me. I cannot relate to any of these women because I have no children, nor
am I a product of adoption. It was truly amazing to hear each of their testimonies. One story that stood out to me was
of a woman that was around my age, and decided to place her son for adoption. At the time when she placed him, she

Why I Learn To Read, Read To Lean
Learn to Read, Read to Learn
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you ll go. I have always
loved Dr. Seuss books, especially his book, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut. To me, this book gives me a good reason
why I love to read which is to always learn at least two new things about the world or myself. When my mother first
bought me the book, The Land Of Stories: The Wishing Spell, in 2014, I thought it would be a terrible book and I
decided not to read it. A couple of months later, I finally picked up the book to start reading. I loved the story and
wanted to read the next book in the series. I learned from The Land Of Stories: The Wishing Spell that anything is
possible, if you put

  • 2. The Effect Of Ocean Acidification On The Rates Of Calcium... INTRODUCTION/ABSTRACT For the past 200 years, the rapid increase in atmospheric CO2 continues to be produced by, the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, industrialization, cement production, and other land use changes. The ocean absorbs much of this excess CO2 through air sea gas exchange, resulting in changes in seawater chemistry. Due to human made emissions, the CO2 content of the oceans has dramatically increased and is gradually acidifying the surface waters. As a result of human made emissions, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and oceans has increased dramatically during recent decades. In the ocean, the accumulating CO2 is gradually acidifying the surface waters, making it difficult for shelled organisms such as corals and certain open sea plankton to build their calcium carbonate skeletons. Since this process affects the functioning of several marine ecosystems, it has been massively studied in recent years. However, getting an accurate measure is complicated because the effect of ocean acidification on the rates of calcium produced by marine organisms is extremely variable and its species specific. Since scientists incline to use local and site specific field measurements, treating reef environments and open sea environments separately, their measurements reflect the local response of individual organisms to elevated CO2 levels, leaving out the overall picture. RESEARCH Increasing concentrations of CO2 in the world s oceans has resulted with serious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sacco And Bartolomeo Vanzetti Essay The Sacco and Vanzetti Murder Trial The murder trial of the Italians known as Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti was one of the most controversial events during the 1920 s. The execution of the Italians by electric chair was wrongfully convicted given that there wasn t enough evidence to prove that Sacco and Vanzetti were responsible for the armed robbery. In fact, many commentators say that they were executed mainly for their political views and not for their so called actions. In my opinion, the trial was never properly handled and they should have never been executed or at least not given a real chance to defend themselves. On april 15, 1920 an armed robbery took place in South Braintree, Massachusetts. Two businessmen were moving a $15,000 payroll to different location when an automobile with two men inside showed up, shot them both and drove away. This is where it all starts, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti are blamed for a crime they were never a part of. I believe the police department assumed they were guilty for two major reasons. 1) Mr. Sacco owned a gun of the same type that was used in the crime scene back in ... When they were arrested, police officers had even more reason to suspect that they were criminals who liked to get away with their crimes. At this time, Sacco and Vanzetti were interrogated and pressured to confess a crime they had nothing to do with. • 4. Hunter S. Tompson and Gonzo Journalism Essay Hunter S. Tompson and Gonzo Journalism In the late sixties a young journalist and free lance novelist named Hunter S. Thompson (HST) emerged with a new, crazed and exaggerated brand of reporting. It was sooner or later referred to as Gonzo . HST s own definition of gonzo has varied over the years, but he still maintains that a good gonzo journalist needs the talent of a master journalist, the eye of an artist/photographer and the heavy balls of an actor and that gonzo is a style of reporting based on William Faulkner s idea that the best fiction is far more true than any kind of journalism (Carroll, page 192). Gonzo journalism has also been referred to as outlaw journalism, new journalism, alternative journalism, literary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steadman s work will be found on the title page to this essay). As the deadline for the article approached, and with the article still incomplete, HST resorted to ripping out pages of his notebook and sending them to the editors. What resulted was the beginning of gonzo journalism. Many see gonzo journalism to be a variation of a theme, which began with new journalism in the 60 s, led primarily by author Tom Wolfe. (The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test, etc.) New Journalism was said to have broken all the rules of traditional journalism. The old style journalists were supposed to take an objective point of view in their articles. The new journalists were far more subjective, getting personally involved in the stories they were reporting. New journalism really isn t new at all. Objectivity has been the great myth of journalism. As hard as media sources try to be objective, they can never truly achieve it. Everything from space limitations (a journalist must decide what is and what is not important enough to fit into a column) to illustrations (this gives readers a non objective picture in their head about the issue) infringe on objectivity. New journalism and gonzo journalism alike pay no regard to the objectivity laws of journalism and instead focus their works very little on the facts but on the facts , as they ... • 5. Essay On The Crucible Charlie Chaplin Arthur miller s play the crucible and the film the king in New York directed by Charlie Chaplin explores the way politics and people are intertwined. Both these composers, through their texts, sagaciously convey the notion of how oppressive politics can be. They instil on the responder of the way in which politics can ruin and lead both people and societies to destruction when given too much power. Arthur miller and Charlie Chaplin were profoundly affected by the mass hysteria of communism led by the politician Joseph McCarthy that happened in America in the 1950 s. They suffered under the political tyranny of the house of Un American activities (HUAC) when they were accused of supporting the communist ideology. Amid the political disarray, Chaplin was exiled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is revealed through the character Abigail. Abigail s control of others is demonstrated when she smashes betty across the face . Through the stage direction, miller conveys the power and authority Abigail possesses. Abigail resorts to such actions due to the conformity of theocratic societies which deemed people who danced as devils. The extent to which she is willing to go to hide this fact is portrayed when she threatens the girls by stating the she will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you . Through the high modality of her threatening voice, the responder glimpses the power motivation can bring in a political system that seeks to oppress others. Moreover, Abigail challenges the theocratic society through the symbolism of her rising up to Danforth, who is seen as the embodiment of the theocratic society. Through this stage direction, miller demonstrates the way rebellion can be engendered by political systems that repress its people. In summary, political systems can engender mass chaos when certain individuals stand up to the political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of this analysis is to identify the root of the problem and how it can possibly be solved. If customers had to buy these mousetraps and use them only for a brief period of time, they would certainly not pay five times as much if a cheaper one is available. Product Though change is constant, most people are not used to welcoming it with eagerness and enthusiasm. So too with new products. It would take much effort and creativity for new products to penetrate a market that already consists of similar merchandise. How a new product will fare would rely highly on several factors such as quality, design, features, brand name, packaging, and services offered. With its proven usefulness and effective trapping mechanism, the traditional mousetrap has very well gained its niche in society over the years. • 8. Is Man Inherently Evil The Evil Within In Thomas Hobbes book Leviathan he writes that man is selfish, poor, and brutish. He believes that man is inherently evil and their selfishness leads to war and negative things (SAT). I agree with Hobbes. Man is inherently evil because people spread hate and commit atrocities. One reason it is evident that man is inherently evil is because people spread hatred. Social media is used today on a day to day basis, it is such a huge platform for communication and entertainment. What it s supposed to be used for though, may not be how people are using it. People take advantage of the fact that you can be anonymous on social media and say hurtful things to people. This shows how evil man can be because they commit mass murders without a specific reason or outcome simply because man feels hate. If man was born good, then why would they commit mass murders? It clearly shows man is evil because man killed innocent people and a good person would never take someone s life. Also man destroys the world they live in. In the article Top 10 Environmental Issues Caused By Humanity The Worst it states that deforestation, industrial mining, and untreated sewage are just some of the issues man has created for this earth. So much surface area is destroyed and mercury is released into the air harming the planet, only for the benefit and selfishness of humanity. Brutalizing and destroying so much land for only a couple ounces of gold shows the selfishness of man. Many inmates may possibly entered prison without obtaining any high school credentials, which could be one of the reasons that recidivism remains prominent. Three quarters of state prison inmates are dropouts, as are 59% of federal inmates. In fact, dropouts are 3.5 times more likely than high school graduates to be incarcerated in their lifetime (AYPF). Many of these prisoners may have been incarcerated for a long period of time; consequently, causing their skills to become more obsolete compare to skills that were required before they entered the penal system. The development of technology, scientific, and medical programs may not be as prominent and sophisticated as it was before their arrest, especially since United States just recently proposed implementing 21st century courses in secondary institutions. Health is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being (Macionis, 2015, p. 267). Preventative and acute care is important to maintain health and is needed by everyone in the world. Since the creation of the Affordable Care Act many have argued the negative repercussions of the program often neglecting the positives. The fact is, most working adults (59.5%) are offered insurance for themselves and their families at a discounted rate through their employers (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2013). Despite a 10% decline in employers that offer insurance compared to 2011, the option is still available for half of the working population (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2013). Small business owners that employ fifty or more employees are eligible to provide subsidized health insurance for their employees (HealthCare.gov, 2016). In addition, 30.1% of American s utilize either Medicaid or Medicare, a government program that aids or supplements insurance cost ( Medicare and Medicaid, Age and Income Random Samplings, 2013) . Murrow constantly theorizes about a conspiracy plot against him and has consistently displayed episodes of paranoid, delusional behavior. Murrow s erratic behavior is marked by the belief that his parents are conspiring with his doctor to force him to take psychopharmaceuticals. • 12. A Hanging By George Orwell Essay A Hanging By George Orwell A Reflective Essay on the Short Story A Hanging by George Orwell The short story A Hanging by George Orwell illustrates the experience and intrigues surrounding the hanging of a Hindu prisoner in Burma. Orwell dwells on the inhuman nature of capital punishment and how the hangmen disregard the dignity of human life to commit a prisoner to the gallows. Unarguably, the purpose of this non fiction story is to persuade the readers of the horrifying injustice of subjecting a convict to the death penalty. As this reflective paper shall present, throughout the short story, the author intelligently uses irony and sarcasm to manipulate the mood of the audience thereby convincing the readers of his criticism of capital punishment and the barbaric administration of justice in the Burma prisons. To begin with, Orwell is explicitly against any administration of capital punishment on convicts. He describes capital punishment as not only mysterious and unjustified, particularly when the individual is in his most potential stage of life (Orwell, 2). In addition, he expresses his ... This is a very symbolic action and with the surprise that ensued, there is a clear indication of the discontentment in having to take somebody s life. To what extent was grass roots activism a significant reason to why the Civil Rights Movement Grew in the 1950s and 1960s The civil rights movement grew for a number of reasons during the 1950 s and 1960s. Prior to this select time period America were fighting in the Cold War and many black soldiers battled in the name of freedom . This was ironic as these black soldiers were fighting for something that they didn t even have back home. Huey Newton s main aim was: An immediate end to police brutality and the murder of black people. The fact that different parties existed meant that the CRM had more supporters as it has supporters from both violent and non violent sides; this in the big picture benefited the cause for CRM and helped it grow. The change in president s actions and beliefs also helped the growth of the CRM. Presidents such as Truman and Eisenhower began to take action overruling states inactions to ignore the federal government, thus effectively aiding blacks bid for civil rights. A good example showing how president s attitudes were changing is the little rock nine cases in Arkansas, 1957. When nine black students were disallowed entry into the city high school by governor of Arkansas orders to send state soldiers to stand outside the premises to avoid entry, President Eisenhower felt he had to intervene. In the story, The Bear Came Over the Mountain by Alice Munro, I realised what Grant has to experienced and I felt sympathy and how he deserves it the same time, rather a controversial true opinion. I think the author clearly shows the selfishness of men through Grant as he is a typical man trying to fulfil his own pleasures by courting women that went to his lectures in university. The House On Mango Street Rhetorical Analysis As Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for females, once said, I raise up my voice not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard...we cannot succeed when half of us are held back. Malala is advocating for young females, giving them a voice that they may not have. She is demonstrating how being a female should be liberating, and women should not feel held back by their gender. In The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros speaks of a similar idea. As Malala indicates, Cisneros also indicates how being a woman can be empowering; however, Cisneros also establishes how being a woman raised in a marginalized community can have adverse mental and physical repercussions. Through countless stories and the motif of women sitting by windows, Cisneros ratifies how draining it is to be an average woman in Esperanza s community. In The House on Mango Street, women by windows depict women trapped by their families, specifically their husbands, maturing into a disturbing image that portrays the failure to be an individual that makes her own decisions. In the vignette Rafaela Who Drinks Coconut and Papaya Juice on Tuesdays, the author tells of a woman who is too beautiful to look at, saying, Rafaela who ... wishes there were sweeter drinks, not bitter like an empty room, but sweet sweet like the island, like the dance hall down the street where women much older than her throw green eyes easily like dice and open homes with keys (Cisneros 80). Rafaela is yearning to be able to leave her home like the women she envies. She compares the bitterness of her fruit drinks to the desolation and seclusion of the house, and wishes the drinks were sweeter, expressing her looking out the window and longing for something more in life, like the fortunate few women in her community have. A character Esperanza knows named Sally has received abuse from her father, and when she gets married, Esperanza says, She says she is in love, but I think she did it to escape (Cisneros 101) and, She sits at home because she is afraid to go outside without his permission (Cisneros 102). Sally tried to get away from her father s physical abuse, but in doing so, she is now living the life of a woman by the window, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The testicle circumference and histological sections were assessed to determine the efficacy of the vaccine on gonadal features. The release of American Pie in 1971 was a landmark in pop music history because the song was eight minutes and thirty two seconds long. Later, it was divided up into two parts and then turned into the version that is known today (www.don mclean.com). Now that the time period that surrounded the release of American Pie is established it is easier to understand the song because it can be read more in context. The music of American Pie harkens back to a time of rock n roll, pianos, and acoustic guitars. A time when the music was upbeat and peppy, causing you to want to jump up and dance. However, the music during the time of its creation lacks the calming effect that is acquainted with the music of previous eras. American Pie embodies many qualities of the music during the 1950s, including the simplicity of the chord structures overall, the clear vocals, and well known and used instruments. With the use of simple but repetitive chords, Don McLean is able to shift the attention from the musical facet of the song back to the lyrics and the individual person listening to it. Ethical Theories Of Normative Ethics Over the last couple of weeks in Philosophy 103, we learned five theories concerning normative ethics: utilitarianism, duty ethics, virtue ethics, care ethics, and natural law ethics. While learning about those theories, I often thought about how the arguments for some theories included interesting ideas that I personally agreed with, but the methods of reasoning were somewhat lacking. Contrastingly, I encountered theories with arguments that were not thought provoking ideas at first, but I became acclimated to them due to the logical and well thought out methodologies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A person who practices virtue attempts to live a well balanced and stable life. While I recognize Aristotle s argument, the argument itself presents people as isolated human beings who try to be virtuous, or at least attempt to, with no consideration of how our interactions with others affect us and, therefore, affect what is considered right and wrong. The lack of reflection on how interpersonal relationships affect morality is where Virginia Held s view completes my normative ethical theory. Her view of care ethics establishes the importance of relationships with others, as people depend on one another to some capacity. Virginia Held declares that an act is right if it nurtures a relationship and wrong if it does not. What is significant about Held s methodology is that it considers the feminine perspective of caring for someone, which many philosophers did not consider when making their arguments. The importance of interpersonal relationships in care ethics is something that is certainly applicable to this day and age. With new technology and globalization, our capacity to interact with others has greatly increased, and to dismiss our connectedness while making a normative ethical theory in the modern era would be irrational. Population is one of the conversational topics when talking about a countries profile, in view of the fact that it plays a huge role, in a countries work force, consumption and economy. I will be collecting data and modelling them to predict the population for the next 5 to 10 years. I will also be doing this for Kenya to see the relationship between the two countries to prove that this rapid growth of population is happening not only in our country but in our neighboring countries too. The data collected is imprecise because it is affected by many variables. The mortality rate of the people in Ethiopia can affect my data highly. During this time Ethiopia had a high rate of migration, this could also be included as one of the variables that have affected my data. I will be using this set of data to draw a graph so that I can generate a model to represent this data so that I can use it to predict the population after five years. Year Population (in millions) 1 2015 99.3 2 2010 87.5 3 2005 76.6 4 2000 66.4 5 1995 57.2 6 1990 48.0 7 1985 40.8 8 1980 35.2 9 1975 32.6 These are my test values that I will use to test my every models accuracy.

Fair use can be defined as a doctrine that allows portions of a copyrighted work to be used without the creator s permission as long as it is only for commentary, parody, criticization, or educational purposes. In the fictional case of Professor Faden versus Walt Disney Studios, I have decided to take the side of Professor Faden. Professor Faden claims fair use in this case. When looking into the first factor of fair use, purpose and character used, Faden states his point that his video is used for educational purposes. When you actually go back and watch the video for yourself, you see immediately that the video is clearly made in good character with good intentions, as well as that the nature of the work is educationally based, which brings us to the second factor in determining the fair use of a copyright case. The second factor in the determination of fair use is indeed the nature of the copyrighted work, as mentioned previously. As Professor Fade stated, the nature of his video was for educational purposes, which can be observed rather obviously. He also stated that his video could fall into the category of remix. A remix is a new version or rendition of a previously existing work, most common in the music industry. For this reason, managers need to be able to adapt to and address the changing needs of not only their customs, but even more importantly, their employees. Change is always occurring, and the manner in which an employee s needs are attended to in present day society, is rather different from that of 100 years ago. The development from the 19th and early 20th century management strategies, to the current management understanding, was not a change that occurred overnight. It was a gradual movement from the earliest management philosophy, the Classical Perspective, to the Scientific Management Approach, to today s Humanistic Perspective. Developed in the 19th century, the Classical Perspective addressed the issue of maximizing efficiency. Historically, during this time period, a majority of people in the workforce were immigrants with no previous training or knowledge of the jobs they were set to perform. Thus, managers were burdened with the task of converting these unskilled workers into employees who performed their jobs correctly and in a timely manner, despite cultural barriers, in attempt to turn businesses into efficient operating machines. The problems in industry during this time, such as managing huge unskilled labor forces in factories, dealing with complex production systems, and managing an expansive manufacturing operation, were the sole focus of the Classical Perspective.
