Advance Professional Roles and Values Project Falls Keri Cochran October 20, 2014 Western
Governor s University The problem and explanation: The hospital I am employed at is currently
having an issues with patient falls. The hospital is a no restraint facility and strongly discourages the
use of any form of restraint including leather, soft, posey vests, or chemical. Currently the line of
defense is using staff sitters, moving the patient to a visible room when available and or family
members are encouraged to come and stay with their loved ones who are at high risk of falls. This
does not always rectify the issues secondary to staffing issues and family participation. The facility
has had two critical falls this year, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a facility, we have adopted the slogan No one potties alone thus meaning staff have to be present at
all times when a patient is on the toilet. You can imagine how this has been perceived. Patients refuse
to have staff standing waiting while they use the toilet, patient and staff are very uncomfortable with
this facility wide decision. Simply stated it is not working well. We have continued to have falls and or
near misses and patient satisfaction has declined. Our patient surveys seem to have a common theme,
patient s need and want their privacy while in the restroom. On our unit, 4 Tower, I brought up the
issues of falls secondary to our manager stating this is a hot topic. I introduced discussion at the unit
based council meeting that we have an issues and we need to address the issue and do something
because this plan of no one potties alone is not working. Hence, this project has come to life. The
investigation and analysis: The issue is patient falls in the acute care setting. In looking at this issue, I
researched all the falls that had occurred on my unit and pulled patient charts and researched RN and
CNA documentation, procedures, medication records etc. to be able to start seeing correlations /
similarities between the falls. I pulled NOEs (notice of events) our facility internal method of tracking
falls. In reading documentation most falls were during the

Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey By William...
3 Messages from Tintern (Pages 780 785) The poem, Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern
Abbey, by William Wordsworth is a poem that works from the simple to the complex. William
Wordsworth is a generation one romantic poet. The poems are meant to be short and brief, but the
poem Tintern is quite a bit longer. This poem by Wordsworth was written in 1798, during his second
visit to the valley of the River Wye and what s left of Tintern Abbey, which was once a great medieval
church, in Wales. Wordsworth hasn t visited Tintern Abbey in five years, and this time he has brought
his sister along with him. In the poem, Tintern, the three main messages I got from the text would be,
love, the beauty of nature, and time. One of the major factors in Tintern is that the poem shows love.
He does not only show love for nature, but he shows love to his sister and overall the setting of the
place. Wordsworth has not visited Tintern in five years, but this time he has brought along his sister
Dorothy with him. He wants to show his sister the beauty of it. He is describing the beauty and it
sounds like comparing that to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wordsworth describes in this poem that even though many years have went by since he has been back
to Tintern, nothing has really changed in his eyes. And when they come back to visit it is just the ruins
of it, it is still beautiful to him. When he says, For the future years. And so I dare to hope. Though
changed, no doubt, from what I was when first I came among these hills; when like a roe lines 65 to

Planning, Scheduling, Budgeting and Risk Management for the Desire2Learn (D2L) Learning
Management System
Overview
Translating the many project requirements, risks and costs into a single cohesive platform to manage
the implementation of the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system is the intent of this
analysis. One of the most critical success factors of any project plan is the balancing of risk, costs and
time constraints to ensure the overarching project is completed on or before schedule (Cleland, 1985).
The action definition and plan design components of the D2L Learning Management Systems are
defined and discussed in this project plan analysis with specific focus on timing and resource
allocations. In addition, this analysis has been created to serve as the framework to guide the
implementation of the D2L Learning Management System over the duration of the project. Resources
for this plan s completion include the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the district, Information
Systems and Information Technology (IT) department staff members, the superintendent, the vendor
professional services team and the vendor training and implementation staffs. All of these teams and
individuals need to be orchestrated towards a common objective and timeline in order for the project
plan to succeed. Creating and maintaining a collaborative platform is essential for the attainment of
project plan deadlines and milestones, serving as a platform for communication and knowledge

The Corruption Of Nature Revealed In Shakespeare s Macbeth
People can disrupt nature and nature will get back at you. Macbeth is a story written by Shakespeare
about a young man who has the ambition to become king no matter the cost. Macbeth s first step was
becoming the Thane. Macbeth and his best friend Banquo went to see the three weird sisters, witches,
and they are told their prophecies. Macbeth s was that he would be the Thane and then the king. While
Banquo s was that his lineage would be royalty for generations. Macbeth told his wife who then gets
the idea to go a step further and become the king and queen of the country. They plan to invite the
current king to their home and assassinate him. Once the king came Lady Macbeth poisoned the king
and made his guards drunk enough to pass out on their own. Macbeth then killed the king with a
dagger and was able to put the blame on the deceased king s guards. Macbeth becomes the next king.

Types of birds convey the theme that the disruption of natural flow can cause unforeseen deaths and

How Technology Can Define Ethical Standards and Cultures
How Companies Use Technology to Set and Manage Ethical Standards
Introduction
The agility and resilient nature of any organization is highly dependent on how effective it is in using
technologies to implement, continually manage and reinforce ethical standards throughout the many
departments and functional areas of a their business. The greater the level of compliance to ethical
standards, the more cost efficient it is for organizations to meet legally defined compliance
requirements as well. Using IT to align an organization to its compliance mandates through the use of
ethics based management can deliver significantly greater profitability over the long term. The goal of
this analysis is to analyze the approaches organizations are using to combine leadership strategies and
technologies to create highly effective organizational cultures. How technologies are used has a
significant effect on the ethical foundation, expectations and cultures of an organization. Not only do
they amplify a leader s key insights and thoughts, they also create the means by which employees can
communicate, collaborate and define a culture of high ethical standards and conduct or not.
Leadership will determine which direction an organization will go on this continuum ethics and
technology.
The Impact of Technologies on Managing Ethical Standards Guidelines

Visual Elements Of Art Falls
An unestablished piece of art that stuck out to me was railroad tracks. This work of art speaks to me
because it reminds me of the many people who were slaves that tried to escape to freedom many years
ago. Their journey was filled with endless runinng trying to escape their old lives filled with danger,
and abuse. These individuals were in search of an uknown world that awaited them. Moreover, it is
reminiscent of leaving one s old life behind in search of something new, the unkown. The artistic
impulse that this work of art falls under is refreshing our vision to see the world in new ways.
Immediately seeing a railroad track might not result in everyone having the same interpretation of how
this falls into the realm of an unestablished work of art. There are various visual elements present:
their definitely is a stark outline by the brown rustic rails that are an array of vertical lines. The
horizontal lines are represented by the wooden blocks of wood which in spite of some slight chipping
remain intact to secure passerbys on trains or those traveling by. Looking farther are diagnoal lines
which draws the viewers eyes to the railroad tracks and the dumpsters surrounding it.
Additionally, the green color of the dumpsters along with their black lids provide a sense of variety.
The dumpsters are varying sizes and are arranged a certain distance apart from each other similar to
the baggage that people carry when escaping one world and entering into another. The struggle

Exploration Of Oil And Gas Resources Essay
Introduction
With the continued depletion of conventional oil and gas resources, the oil industry is now more than
ever faced with exploration of unconventional and challenging oil and gas reserves. Such reserves call
for novel drilling techniques and also require drilling fluids that can fulfil such drilling requirements.
In most cases it s OBM that can provide hole stability and it is also the best choice for drilling highly
sensitive wells. But as these OBMs are being used, operators must strike a balance between their
desired high performance standards and environmental concerns of their regulators and local
communities. These stringent environmental concerns have led to research and development of many
water based drilling muds but these muds still don t offer the desired drilling performances like
OBMs. We shall now look at the advantages and disadvantages of both OBMs and WBMs
Advantages of WBM: WBMs pose a comparably minimal risk to the environment, there s a lower
logistical challenge as compared to OBMs in terms of transporting of the liquid phase, For WBMs
disposal doesn t require high transportation cost like OBMs especially for off shore operations that
might require shipment to shore for treatment and disposal, Viscosity and Density are easily
controlled, for low pressure formations, WBMs are a good choice, easier removal of drill cuttings at
shakers and Less of a need for cuttings washing and drying.
Disadvantages of WBM: it is inferior in lubricating

The Enlightenment Research Paper
In this essay, my main focus will be on the relationship between the ideas of the enlightenment and the
development of sociology as an academic subject.
The enlightenment, which is also known as the age of reason is the name given to an important period
in the history of western civilization. Enlightenment is often defined as a man s emergence from his
self incurred immaturity. Enlightenment was the period during the 17th 18th century, when people saw
the growth of modern science and a new faith in the power of reason and the improvement of the
human condition. The developments took place in Germany, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands,
Italy, Spain and Portugal. The society increased through much of Europe, as well as Russia and
Scandinavia plus the United States. The enlightenment was a time where the human ability to reason
was glorified.
The Era was given the name enlightenment , because it was a time when an influential group actively
sought to use the clear life of reason that is rational thought to rid the world of superstition and
ignorance. The influential group included:
John Locke 1632 1704
Isaac Newton 1642 1727
David Hume 1711 1776
JJ Rousseau 1712 1778
Adam Smith 1723 1790
Immanuel Kant 1724 1804

(In Fulcher Scotts 1999 extract) It states that Enlightenment thinking led to scientific ideas . People
started to understand their own actions and how the society functions. Enlightenment thinkers
influenced the founding fathers of sociology because the founding fathers have embedded and
expanded on the ideas proposed by some enlightenment thinkers for example, the concept of tolerating
other beliefs and letting people think for their selves rather than people being dictated to (Craib 1997).
According to (Giddens 1989) he believed that sociology is an investing action of a group of life, as
well as societies. Individualism is

Kate The Great Analysis
Kate the Great by Meg Cabot reveals that people are not always the way they seem.
Kate makes a fantasy world about her life for Jenny to believe in her perspective. Kate and Jenny have
always been best friends ever since the two were young. The both of them would always hang out
with each other have sleepovers, go to the pool together, the library, and went everywhere else
together. They were inseparable as the author said. Although, throughout all of their adventures Kate
has been telling Jenny about her experience in high school. Keep in mind that Kate is older by a
couple of years than Jenny, therefore, Kate has an influence on what to teach Jenny when she gets into

Especially this one time I was taking archery lessons. My teacher looked at me with grieved face since
I had such skinny arms and I was so tiny. Little did he know I went to the gym almost every day after
school. I remember I told him I don t need to have such a light bow. A light bow was a small bow that
was extremely light used for children. My instructor expected me to be absolutely terrible when
testing came. He figured that since I was skinny I had no upper body strength at all. However, when
testing came he observed me on every shot that s when he realized I had so much more potential and
he put me in his advance program. At school, I don t talk much about myself. I m mostly anonymous
around my peers. Many first impressions of me believe that I m petite therefore they can down on me.
However, some students have seen me at a Chicago Tenri Judo Dojo. Here we train for self defense
and martial arts. One of my peers saw me train and found out I was the main leader of the elite group.
After, the word came out everyone stop looking down on me seeing me as a dainty girl. Kate was seen
as a very popular and outgoing girl in high school however she was really a loner and had no friends.
Connecting with me numerous people thought just because I was small I was very fragile. In all
honesty, people are not always the always they seem.

The Christ-Figure In The Hunger Artist
Christ: A Better Hunger Artist The Christ figure is a prominent archetype found in modern literature.
From Simon in The Lord of the Flies to Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, characters who are true in
spirit and suffer for it are all too common. In Kafka s short story A Hunger Artist, this archetype
emerges again but with a twist. The unnamed protagonist is an archetypal Christ figure whose failure
to impact his surroundings serves as an allegory to modern society s diminishing spirituality. Many
aspects of the Hunger Artist s life run parallel to that of Jesus Christ s, and his description matches that
of the Christ figure archetype. The Hunger Artist renounces food and other material items, and
paradoxically gains nourishment from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the Hunger Artist is performing his miraculous fasts, rather than having his achievements
heralded by society, he is greeted with suspicion and cynicism. With this, Kafka argues that modern
society is similarly suspicious of those who devote their lives to faith. Additionally, the Hunger Artist
s popularity is referred to as a passing fad, which suggests that the popularity of Christ will also wane
with time. Kafka parodies the story of Christ with his usage of the two women and the impresario in
the story. Nothing like the followers of Christ, these people are only helping the Artist for their own
personal benefits the impresario for money, and the women for the honour . Both the impresario and
the women do not express any real concern for the Artist s well being, as the impresario heartlessly
markets pictures of the emaciated man, and the women recoil from his touch. Unlike Jesus, nobody
will ever understand or care for the Hunger Artist s suffering, as he is to be the sole completely
satisfied spectator of his own fast. The world s rejection of faith is complete and absolute in the story
when the Hunger Artist dies. Although both Christ and the Artist pass on in absolute service to their
beliefs, the professional faster dies isolated in

Hardware must be protected from damage or theft, such as the application of physical security, keys or
locks. These restrict access to computers and interact with the hardware components of information
systems. Securing the actual location is very important because if it had been entered may result in
loss of information or result other unpredictable problems.
C Data:
Data is the most important thing owned by the organization and it is the main target and objective of
deliberate attacks. Database management systems are the best way to protect the data and applications
from an outsider attack if they develop and implement it properly.
D People:
In order to generate or operate any system the qualify people necessarily appear. Often the most over

the success or failure of information systems.
E Procedures:
Procedures are another important component of information system. Procedures are responsible
component on the drawing process and write the instructions for accomplishing tasks. Procedures are
considered as very important for the integrity of the information in the organization, because if it used
by unauthorized user may threat the security of the information. Organization should give the accurate

A Raisin The Sun And Willy Loman Compare And Contrast Essay
The striving for being rich and have a wealthy life has always been present in the American society.
Often living in a capitalistic society leads people to become greedy, and as a result many become too
materialistic. This may happen because of the challenge to pursue the American dream where most of
Americans are trying to fulfill it. Unfortunately, for most of people it is very difficult to acquire this
high status and to secure a spot in the upper class society. Arthur Miller s, Death of a Salesman, and
Lorraine Hansberry s, A Raisin the Sun, are two plays that reveal two main characters: Willy Loman
and Walter Lee Young, characters that reflect typical features of the people who struggles to achieve
the American Dream. Although they may have common characteristics and share similarities, they
also have numerous issues and are very different, setting them apart from other families and even each
other. Therefore, the main focus of this paper will be to compare and put in contrast these two great
characters. In both plays, A Raisin the Sun and Death of a Salesman, the father (Walter and Willy) is
the main individual that holds his attention throughout the plays. Because of their roles are often
changing in the plays, Walter and Willy can be the protagonist and the antagonist. That being said,
they both have goals to possess their own business and to be their own boss. They both strive to live
wealthy. As Walter says No...It was always money, Mama. We just didn t know about it (Hansberry).
This reveals that Walter is more materialistic instead of considering the feeling of his family.
Willy and Walter are very similar in many ways. For instance, they both are trying to be good fathers.
Walter s goal to get rich is influenced by his restless desire to offer to his family a better life: You
tired, ain t you? Tired of everything. Me, the boy, the way we live this beat up hole everything. Ain t
you? (Discovering Literature, 1295). Meanwhile, the love that Willy has for his sons is undeniable.
Very often he would slip into the past before he drifted apart from his sons: Remarkable. Remember

Descriptive Essay On Candy
Being a young boy, I wasn t the brightest light bulb in the ceiling. I was the kind of kid that could get
good grades, but when told to put an ice bag in the freezer, I accidently put it in the fridge. A person
that would go to a parade, and take the good pieces of candy that they threw. It was not one of the
smartest things I ve done in my life. At this parade, I would steal candy, go to the nearby park, and
play tennis. At the parade, things were starting off very slow. It was very boring for me as a kid, so I
had to try to entertain myself. One of the first things I tried doing at this parade was try to spider climb
up the wall of a building. The roughness of the bricks I would try to grab would cut my small, fragile
fingers and then the blood would start pouring out. I knew that if I was in the ocean, a shark would
smell it from miles away and gobble me up as if I was a turtle. The boredom was eating me to death,
but then I noticed that they were throwing candy at the crowd. I ran up to get some, so excited to put
the delicious pieces of sugar into my mouth. After getting an absurd amount of candy, I saw my
favorite type; a Hershey s chocolate bar. As I was running to get it, I saw a little kid was about to grab
the delicious tantalizing chocolate bar(probably about 6 or 7 years old), I snatched it from his mitts. I
then realised my step dad, Brian, watched me do that, scolded me then told me to go back over there
and give it to the 6 year old. After that incident I

Women s Soccer Argumentative Essay
The United States (U.S.) Women s Soccer Team has become more profitable, more watched, and more
successful than the United States Men s Soccer Team. They have gotten to where they are at now not
through money but through their struggle to play the sport they love. U.S. Women s Soccer started
from the crazy thought of women playing a men s sport to a dominating spot at the top of this nation s
soccer winning game after game. Still no matter if they are more profitable, more watched, and more
successful, the U.S. Women s soccer team is extremely underpaid compared to the men s team. The
U.S. Men s team even gets paid more just for showing up to their games than the women do to win
major championships (Zirin). If the U.S. Women s team actually placed in the World Cup and won
first, second, or even third they would still be paid significantly less compared to what the men would
be paid if they finished in the same place (Yourish, Ward, Almukhtar). There is a big difference in the

Comparison Between The Bacchae and The Medea
In Euripides The Bacchae and in the Medea, there are significant binary oppositions in both plays.
Binary opposition is the two opposite terms, such as good versus bad. Binary opposition is used to
present both sides of a contrast (Marvin, 1). In The Bacchae and the Medea, Euripides used binary
opposition to highlight the central themes. The significant binary oppositions that are used are men
versus women, foreigner versus citizen, and god versus man. The contrast between men versus women
is an important opposition in both plays. The women in the Greek society have no control of their life;
the men are in control (Barlow 159). In The Bacchae Dionysus underminded the Greek society point
view on women and empowers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The binary opposition of man versus woman starts off strong, but Euripides switches the roles in both
plays. In The Bacchae the woman worship Dionysus. Pentheus disguises himself as a woman, and
goes off to view the women in the mountains, which is Dionysus plan the whole time. Pentheus
dresses up as a woman and admits to wanting to see the women up at the mountains, and this goes
against Pentheus anger at the beginning of the play (Bacchae 813 814). In the end of the play the
women overpower Pentheus and destroy him to pieces (Bacchae 1125 1140). This is an example of the
women being controlling of their own actions and being stronger than the men. In Medea the
stereotype of the man and the woman switch. Medea is no longer going to sit around and let every
man walk all over her; she states in her speech that she will take revenge on everybody that caused her
misery (Medea 364 409). Barlow emphasizes on the reversal of the stereotype, stating that Medea, is a
woman, moreover, who simply refuses to any longer to accept at any rate Greek female stereotypes
unless to use them with calculation to gain her own immediate ends (158). Medea reversing the
stereotype is the reversal of man controlling the woman, and this shows that woman as well have the
power to control their own life. Euripides also highlights how

Because I couldn’t stop for death by Emily Dickson and...
First of all, based on both poems, the attitude of the poets is influenced by the diction of the poems as
well as tone and mood. In Emily Dickinson s poem, in line 1, 2 Because I couldn t stop for death He
kindly stopped for me the word death delivers a positive mood as the speaker seems respect and awe
death. Moreover, death is portrayed as a phenomenon that is beyond ‎
human s control. Death has its
own control; it is something that human cannot decide themselves but only death can do stop for
human, invite them into its carriage, not vice versa. In ‎
addition, the word kindly in the line presents
calmness to the readers as death is not something that human should scare off. Besides, the word
slowly and the phrase no haste in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, in contrast to Emily s poem, the speaker undervalues death s supremacy as its power is
actually not in its own control. It is a contradictory to Emily s poem. In line 9 Thou art slave to fate,
chance, kings, and desperate men indicates death as a slave as it does what has been ordered from the
superior ones. Death takes human s life not because he is willing to do so but because he is forced to
do so. In line 10 11, And dost with poison, war and sickness... can make us sleep as well the speaker
associates death with poison, war and sickness as death is not the only factor of human s deceases
which then the speaker posts rhetorical question for death to stop being proud. Also, the usage of
rhetorical questions like in line 2 For thou art not so makes death fragile. Further, the last line in this
poem And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die points out that at the end, the only one who
dies is death itself which will be discussed in the element of Christian theology in this essay. The
ending also eventually argues that death is weak and vulnerable, not in control and that is the reason
why human should not fear death. All the arguments made by the speaker in this poem creates death
less powerful and less control of itself which illustrates a condescending tone to elucidate death s
incapability to kill. Hence, both poets; Emily Dickinson and John Donne portray death as a
phenomenon that human should not fear. But

What Causes Severe Head Injury
Head injury is the most common cause for blindness, depending on how mild or severe the head injury
is. A severe head injury can cause abnormal eye movement and inability to focus the eyes. Eye and
vision problems are common after a brain injury, and some vision problems can be due to trauma to
the eye (Everyday Health). A blow to the head can cause vitreous hemorrhage, which is when blood
vessels in the eye bleed into the vitreous humor. Most vitreous hemorrhages clear up, but in some
cases people are left with vision problems (Everyday Health). Glaucoma is several eye conditions that
can damage to your optic nerve. Increased pressure in the eye can cause glaucoma, which leads to
vision loss or blindness (Healthline). There are five different types of glaucoma, which are open angle
(chronic) glaucoma, angle closure (acute) glaucoma, congenital glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and
normal tension glaucoma (Healthline). Open angle (chronic) glaucoma is the most common type of

The International Civil Aviation Organization
1. Introduction A conference was initiated by the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944, in
which all the allied powers as well as some neutral governments convened at Chicago to discuss the
future of civil aviation. The expectations from this conference, which came to be known as the
Chicago Convention, were high even though the timing of the convention wasn t perfect. The Chicago
Convention proposed the formation of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which
later became a part of the UN in 1947. The ICAO contains universal rules covering airspace
sovereignty, aircraft registration and airworthiness, and global Standards and Recommended Practices

Fifty four countries attended the Chicago conference and although it did not quite achieve all of its
goals, it did provide the groundwork for the founding of the ICAO in 1947. The Soviet Union was
invited to the conference but did not attend. Many of the countries which the Allies were at war
Germany, Japan, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy and Finland were not invited and were
not represented but it was the absence of the USSR which was mainly felt as the USSR represented
the largest land territory of the world and were expected to play an important role in after war
arrangements. This negative attitude of the USSR was perhaps a sign of the cold war mistrust and
isolation and that the secretive USSR was not ready to open its air space to international cooperation.
The official reason given for the non participation though was that among the nations taking part in
the conference, there were some countries like Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal which for a number
of years have carried on a hostile policy towards the Soviet Union. 3. Outcomes of the Convention
The atmosphere of the conference was one of uncertainty and some anxiety, which was felt by all

Tangerine Character Analysis
In the book Tangerine by Edward Bloor, the main character Paul is cowering in his brother Erik s
shadow at the beginning. Though toward the end of Tangerine Paul stops cowering in the shadows and
emerges. And at the end Paul stops letting Erik hurt him and his friends. Overall the development of
Paul by Eriks choices has made
Paul grow stronger and more confident.
PHARAGRAPH 1
The first thing the book says that tells you Erik is forcing Paul into submission is on page 263/264.
Paul had a flashback back to Silver Meadows when Erik and his friend currently is Vincent Castor.
Also to further explain Erik and Vincent had done so thing bad and Erik thought that Paul told on

while Vincent Castor sprayed white paint into them. (263 264) This shows that Erik was doing
something that was going to harm him and was not going to help him. Paul let them do it but struggle.
In the end Paul lost part of his eyesight. This show he was about to start cowering in the shadows.

Innocence and Experience in Blake s The Chimney Sweeper Essay
Innocence and Experience in Blake s The Chimney Sweeper
The most obvious difference between the two poems would be the length, although this is not
necessarily a difference between innocence and experience, it does lure the reader into the right frame
of mind to read into the attitude of each poem. Innocence consists of six, four line stanzas, where as
experience is only three, four line stanzas. The length of each line is also longer in innocence when
compared to experience. When you examine what each of the poems is portraying, this seems like an
effective way to draw a distinctive line between the two.
Innocence begins in a slightly depressing tone, informing us from a child s first ... Show more content

The next three stanzas consist of a dream Tom Dacre experiences. The dream itself consists of angels,
a very obvious religious figure, freeing other Chimney Sweeper s from there coffins of black , where
black is an intentional colour reference again ment to symbolize a hard, short life of opression, with a
bright key , bright again being a colour reference. The children are then allowed to roam freely naked
and white , white being yet another intentional placement of a symbolic colour, on a green plain . The
use of the colour green in this case is a slightly less obvious. When combined with the assumption that
the placement of the Chimney Sweeper is in a sooty, black city, one could assume that Blake is against
the large scale industrialization that was demolishing God s natural beauty.
The key turning point in this poem is in the third line of the fifth stanza. And the angel told Tom, if he
d be a good boy, He d have God for his father, and never want joy . This line has the potential to turn
all of the poem around. If you later examine the Experience poem and return to the Innocence, this
line could imply that all religious teachings from the Church are given only to keep the world running.

Essay on Philip Larkin
Philip Larkin A Voice of Pain for This Century
On August 9, 1922, the poet Philip Larkin was born in the town of Coventry in England (Thwaite,
Letters xvii). After graduating St. John s College in Oxford in 1943 with a First Class degree, he
worked at both the University College of Leicester and Queen s College at Belfast before finally
settling down at the University of Hull as Librarian in 1955 (Thwaite, Letters xviii). That same year,
with the publication of his collection The Less Decieved, he began to be recognized (Thwaite,
Introduction xv). His popularity continued to grow thereafter, and over the next twenty years amongst
many awards and honorary doctorates he published two more highly acclaimed books of poetry, The

As his writing progressed, the revelation of his anguish became more and more explicit while his
emptiness, brought on by the struggle to understand life, continued to deepen.
Larkin began writing poetry at an early age, with heavy influence from Keats, Auden, and, ultimately,
Yeats (1974 (Thwaite, Introduction xviii xix). In 1946, at the age of twenty three, he began to carry his
own voice and write poems that would thereafter strike his characteristic note (Thwaite, Introduction
xv). The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an early example of the simple
diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of Larkin s great works. The poem
parallels humanity with the together, apart, together movement of waves, personifying the mortal need
to wish ourselves together, / Yet sue for solitude upon our meetings (l. 3,6 7). The human heart itself is
a wave, carrying Laments, tears, wreaths and rocks in a deluge of anxiety and sorrow (l. 14). Silver
tongued like a share, the heart wave ploughs up failure, / Carries the night and day and fetches / Profit
from sleep (l. 17 19). In the face of death, however, The wave falters and drowns ; for while the heart
takes tithes and Finds marrow to feed and frame us, it cannot invoke death (l. 20 22, 30). As a result,
Our hearts must Grow quiet in [death s] shadow, because There is nothing to grasp and Nothing to

Since the water buffaloes has caused such dramatic effect on the ecosystem and also spread the
disease in Kakadu national part, a extensive eradication program called Brucellosis and Tuberculosis
Eradication Campaign (BTEC) was initiated to reduce the population of water buffaloes (Jesser et al.
2008). This program was performed by aerial shooting from the helicopter. By then end of 1997, the
number of water buffaloes has reduced from around 20000 to only a few hundred left in the Kakadu
National Park. This sudden decline in water buffaloes numbers caused significant changes in
vegetation ground cover and biomass (Petty et al. 2007). However, weed (Mimosa pigra) control and
ongoing removal of buffaloes were required to rehabilitate the original ecosystem (Findlayson et al.
1997). The impact of buffaloes on ground level vegetation and soils in Kakadu National Park has
indirectly changed the living pattern such as the competitive relationships between plants and animals,
which, in turn, further altered the overall ecological structure of Kakadu. Thus, it was not enough to
revert the habitat to its previous state by simply removing the buffaloes. According to Petty and his
colleagues work in 2007, The impact of increase

Filesharing is the act of sharing files over the internet with another person. This can be done directly
between two computers or by two computers connecting to a mediating server. These files can be
anything: music, videos, books, blueprints, or other documents, many different types of software and
programs including video games. Filesharing is also incredibly easy. Free software like bittorrent
makes it simple for anyone to fileshare. With the simplicity of filesharing and the huge amount of

While I had a lot of personal experience with filesharing I still needed additional information on my
topic to back up my own experiences and opinions. I knew I needed more information on current
copyright laws and to learn more I went online to the copyright website where I found the penalties
for copyright infringement. While most cases of infringement aren t criminally prosecuted, infringers
are still subject to huge fines. The fines are even larger (up to $150,000) if the infringer is shown to
have knowingly and willfully infringed the copyrighted material, especially if he or she committed
copyright infringement for profit. Uploaders carry a higher risk of being found guilty of willful
infringement because they knew what they were doing.
I also went to the library to find print sources about online pirating and I found plenty if information.
Perhaps the most useful article I found was an article written by Lawrence Lessig, A Stanford
professor and author of Free Culture . In his article Lessig pointed out that the battle against online
piracy is hopeless the way it is currently being fought. He noted that prosecuting these so called
pirates has not led to an increase of profits for the artists nor a decrease in the amount if illegal

Feudalism In Siegfried
IT S INTERESTING to see how history is distorted in the act of grasping it: how it bends to fit the
mind of the person who takes it in. You can investigate a historical epoch and watch as others, arriving
at disparate conclusions, paint a portrait with a selection of colors chosen to fulfill their needs. A man
is bound to feel that in the careless approach of others, he himself stands accused: is he not guilty of
the same crime, of distorting history to his own ends, lacking merely the person with sufficient
subtlety to call him to account?
Joachim Fest said that the political maturity of the German people came only after the loss of their
inner, spiritually romantic interior the relic of feudalism that had not yet given way. This world of
glorious Heroes and Grand Gestures which Wagner seeked to portray in music, and which Hitler
forged a connection to largely through Wagner s operas, apparently watching Siegfried 30 or more

One of the main differences between the lingering feudalistic mindset of Germany and the
individualist mindset which was rising in the West, was the relationship to authority. In the West, it
was gradually being understood that self interest could be reliably deferred to when dealing with one s
superiors and even the concept of a superior, of someone placed above oneself in the natural order,
was becoming incomprehensible. In Germany, respect for authority still had it s unquestioning,
deferential, semi religious

terrifying possibilities that we could never completely comprehend (1998). Denial is the refusal to
believe or accept the reality that certain events have happened, are happening, or will happen. To
accept the reality would bring emotional pain, so the events are denied. Related to denial is the
defense called minimizing. Events are accepted, but only in a watered down version. Sure I drink once
in a while. Everybody does. It s no big deal. Once in a while I might get carried away, but it really isn
t a problem (USDHHS, 1994).
Denial is the primary psychological symptom of addiction. It is an automatic and unconscious
component of addictions. Addicts are often the last to recognize their disease, pursuing their
addictions into mental illness, the degeneration of health, and ultimately death. Sadly, many addicts
continue to act out on their addictions while their world collapses around them blaming everything but
the addiction for their problems (USDHHS, 1994)
Denial is one of the reasons that recovery from addictions is seldom effective if the chemically
dependent person is forced into treatment. You cannot work on a problem

Go Back To Where You Came From Essay
Discoveries can be challenging and can impact greatly on an individual s perception. Go Back To
Where You Came From by Ivan O Mahoney and Ang Lee s film Life of Pi , convey the process of
discovery and how it evaluates, challenges and rebuilds upon emotional and intellectual discoveries
and experiences in which are confrontive and unexpected yet transformative and redemptive for the
individuals and society as a whole. In the documentary series Go Back To Where You Came From in
Episode 3, Darren,Glenny and Adam are taken to a hospital in Jordan. The participants are faced with
the horrendous injuries and result of war making it feel real as they experience the brutality of the
refugee experience. Close ups of sad and distorted faces, war scars and melancholic music during the
doctor s speech to his patients heighten the deep, upsetting emotions of the suffering and injustices the
refugees faced. Contrast elopes as then the upbeat, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

head and widens his eyes, for seeing the injustices before him, Adam is confronted with the terror and

Bodega s Obsession With Vera In The Great Gatsby
In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby is stuck in the past, dreaming about
Daisy. He regrets leaving her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Gatsby believes that their
relationship will continue where they left off. If she loved him then, will she not love him now? In the
novel Bodega Dreams, by Ernesto Quiñonez, Bodega is obsessed with rekindling his relationship with
Vera. They have been separated for so long but he feels that she will fall madly in love when she sees
him again. Life is going well and he has built up Spanish Harlem for her. In both cases, the
relationships they wish to have no longer exist and try as they might, they still fail. The authors
present relationships that happened in the past ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were full of joy until it all came crashing down because of figures that were hiding in the
shadows. They felt as though life was well and their relationships were thriving. Some characters were
not happy with these thriving relationships. In Gatsby s case, Tom viewed Gatsby as a threat to his
marriage and had to neutralize the threat. Nick narrates, The chauffeur he was one of Wolfsheim s
protégés heard the shots afterward he could only say that he hadn t thought anything much about
them...It was after we started with Gatsby [his dead body] toward the house that the gardener saw
Wilson s body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete (Fitzgerald, 161, 162).
Gatsby made Tom s life easier by being in the car that killed Myrtle. Wilson was originally going to go
after Tom, but Tom corrected him that it was Gatsby s car that killed his wife. Tom can easily get rid
of Gatsby because Wilson wants to avenge his wife s death. As Gatsby got into the pool and waited for
the call that would never come, he gave up on his aspirations and is killed by Wilson. Gatsby s
romance was hopeless from the start and failed because it was not supposed to work out. He had his
chances years ago and he could not move on. Bodega s story ends in similar way. Vera never truly
loved Bodega, her heart is in the hands of someone else. Blanca says, My mother tells me that years
ago her sister

Episode Of War Naturalism
Naturalism analyses objectivity and the loss of individuality to study the instinctual nature of human
beings when governed by forces beyond their control. An Episode of War by Stephen Crane uses
elements of naturalism to describe what happens to a lieutenant after being shot in the arm. Characters
in naturalism literature, such as the lieutenant, experience forces of heredity, environment, passion, or
instinct that weaken their attempts to exercise free will. In An Episode of War, Crane incorporates a
dynamic setting, evolving characterization, and person vs self conflict to prove that war brings more
tragedy than glory. The use of dynamic setting in the story contributes to the instinctual forces the
character experiences and the dark scenes involved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also through the evolution of the character, we see how he is made less and less of a hero and more of
a strange object that has been damaged by war. Before he was shot, the lieutenant had a position and a
duty that he took seriously. With the shot of a single mysterious bullet into his arm, he transforms into
an unknown version of himself that displaces the people around him and becomes unrecognizable to
himself. At this moment, the men around him gazed statue like and silent, astonished and awed by this
catastrophe, as if they no longer recognize the man he was (Crane 1). He begins to feel helpless and as
if being wounded has made him into very brittle glass (Crane 2). Moving further away from his
position and duty as a lieutenant, he fades more into a dazed man, wandering around to find his way to
get the help that he needs. He realizes that he does not know how to be correctly wounded (Crane 2).
This is evolving characterization because he does change in a significant way after being shot. He
loses any sense of glory that he had and feels the direct consequence of being in

Franz Beckenbauer Essay
One of Germany s best football players during the 20th century was Franz Beckenbauer. Franz is in
the international football hall of fame, making 103 international caps along with 14 international goals
as a defender and a midfielder. He received the European Footballer of the year in 1972 and 1976,
which is a huge individual award to receive. The international team awards he accomplished include
winning the World Cup in 1974 and the European Championship in 1972. Franz was the captain of
West Germany when they won the World cup in 1974. He is not just remembered for all the trophies
he won, but also for the way he played the game. Every movement he made on the pitch bristled with
elegance. There was an arrogance in his play that suggested he was always in command (Litterer
2010). Franz invented the attacking defender, by making his long runs down the ... Show more content

West Germany s European Championship winning team in 1980. Rummenigge was predicted, along
with Diego Maradona, to be one of the stars of the tournament but knee problems prevented him from
preforming to his fullest potential. Rummenigge came off the bench in this World Cup and scored a
hat trick against Chile. He was a key contributor in the semifinal win against France, scoring one goal
and assisting with one. Rummenigge played most of his club football for Bayern Munich and like
most German football stars, won the league s top scorer three times; he scored 162 goals in 314

European Footballer of the Year in 1980 and 1981; Best Player at the 1990 European Championship;

Qualitative Interview
The article titled learning to interview in the social sciences makes a valid point that as interviewers
we can never ensure what will happen during an interview. To some degree interviewing for the social
sciences and the purpose of research resembles clinical intake interviews. Both processes are in fact
reality constructing, meaning making occasions . In my opinion the qualitative interview while it may
develop a different ebb and flow than research specific qualitative interview, as they tend to have more
targeted overall research questions, they both have the same aim in mind; to collect, interpret, and
analysis data on some level. The findings obtained by the researchers in this study while valid they are
not necessarily inclusive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This article at times left me frustrated at its negative depiction of the qualitative interview and that of
the research experience for both interviews and interviewees. I don t think I agree with every
assumption stated by the authors but it did pin point how at times researchers are merely using their
interviewees but I know the same could be said for quantitative research; but as mentioned in a
previous articles, interviewees also benefit from this experience. As interviewers and researchers it is
true that we are making some private details public, we do so in hoping to benefit other individuals in
similar situations. While I understand the perspective on manipulation, every situation or circumstance
could be manipulated, as researchers we can at times be the manipulator or the ones being
manipulated. As the author stated this article was one sided and bias I believe further evidence or
experience is warranted to understand their point of

Enforcing Gender Roles By Sectioning Off Toys
Toys. When you walk into any store you ll find two seperate toy rows. A bright pink row filled with
Barbies, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shop. Princesses, stuffed animals, dresses and sparkles. The
other section is cool blues with Nerf Guns, Legos, and Hotwheels. Action figures line the aisles. Two
genders, separated like night and day. Why should we separate them? What do the expected toys for
each gender say about gender roles and how our society silently enforces them?
Are we enforcing gender roles by sectioning off toys? By doing this we re teaching boy that they need
to be sporty or like cars and trucks, which leads into a social norm of men being more emotionally
closed off tough guys . Keeping emotions inside and not showing

The Importance Of College In College
College is something that every high school student looks forward to, and whether they get a bachelor
s degree or doctorates, they can expect to be more successful in the future than those who don t go to
college. However, as with every college, we must prove ourselves with more than just grades and
extracurriculars, but also with personality and how we learn from failure. This is what I have to
present to you today, my personality, feats, and faults, and how I have grown over the past 2 decades.
Like all people, I do have a creative side, and it is the side of me that I prefer to show off. I can be
innovative, comedic, helpful, and just overall a great person to talk to. Whenever I talk, whether it be
my friends or people I know from class, I always try my best to slip a joke in based on the situation,
whether it be a pun, punch line or just be funny in general. It always brings a smile to my face to make
others smile and feel good. While this holds true, I am also able to focus and be helpful to the group. I
like to help in any way that I can, because in a way, helping people is like telling a good joke, if done
right, it can make people happy and smile. Being a leader is not what I prefer to do, I d much rather be
a helpful part of the group, but if push comes to shove, I ll take charge of the situation and lead the
group. Other things that make me creative is my fondness of fixing and creating things. I ve always
liked taking a screwdriver to an object and seeing what

Batek of Malaysia
Introduction to Cultural Anthropology (GSF1049E) January 17, 2011
The Batek of Malaysia
The Batek of Malaysia is a hunter gatherer tribe, they are located in the Malaysian rainforest in groups
of families. They would be considered Foragers, They live in camps of five or six nuclear families.
Nuclear families consist of a Mother, Father, and their children. The nuclear family is most common
because, in a foraging setting, it is adaptive to various situations. (Cultural Anthropology Chapter 3.7
Social Organization)
There are few differences in the way men and women behave and contribute to camp life. Both the
husband and the wife raise the children; and, although generally men take care of hunting (using

The couple can choose to live where ever they want, generally they will alternate between the camps
of their parents. Although initially the couple resides matrilocally, but after a year or so, they move to
the man s band and live patrilocally. Even after years of marriage, some couples continue to shift from
one band to the other, keeping their kin ties strong with both bands. Monogamy is the normal
expectations between the couples. But divorce is very common. It is usually common to take place in
the early years of a marriage, prior to the birth of any children. The wife is who typically initiates the
separation. Among Batek, in which moving in together merges into marriage, once they are no longer
living together they are considered divorced, but both parents will still care for the children. Infants
will most likely stay with their mother, who is breastfeeding them, but older children may choose the
parent they want to live with, and they can move back and forth without causing animosity between
the divorced parents.

Advanced Professional Roles and Values Wgu Advance Professional Roles and Values Project Falls Keri Cochran October 20, 2014 Western Governor s University The problem and explanation: The hospital I am employed at is currently having an issues with patient falls. The hospital is a no restraint facility and strongly discourages the use of any form of restraint including leather, soft, posey vests, or chemical. Currently the line of defense is using staff sitters, moving the patient to a visible room when available and or family members are encouraged to come and stay with their loved ones who are at high risk of falls. We have continued to have falls and or near misses and patient satisfaction has declined. Our patient surveys seem to have a common theme, patient s need and want their privacy while in the restroom. On our unit, 4 Tower, I brought up the issues of falls secondary to our manager stating this is a hot topic. Lines Composed A Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey By William... 3 Messages from Tintern (Pages 780 785) The poem, Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey, by William Wordsworth is a poem that works from the simple to the complex. William Wordsworth is a generation one romantic poet. The poems are meant to be short and brief, but the poem Tintern is quite a bit longer. This poem by Wordsworth was written in 1798, during his second visit to the valley of the River Wye and what s left of Tintern Abbey, which was once a great medieval church, in Wales. Wordsworth hasn t visited Tintern Abbey in five years, and this time he has brought his sister along with him. In the poem, Tintern, the three main messages I got from the text would be, love, the beauty of nature, and time. One of the major factors in Tintern is that the poem shows love. He does not only show love for nature, but he shows love to his sister and overall the setting of the place. Wordsworth has not visited Tintern in five years, but this time he has brought along his sister Dorothy with him. He wants to show his sister the beauty of it. He is describing the beauty and it sounds like comparing that to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most critical success factors of any project plan is the balancing of risk, costs and time constraints to ensure the overarching project is completed on or before schedule (Cleland, 1985). The action definition and plan design components of the D2L Learning Management Systems are defined and discussed in this project plan analysis with specific focus on timing and resource allocations. In addition, this analysis has been created to serve as the framework to guide the implementation of the D2L Learning Management System over the duration of the project. Resources for this plan s completion include the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the district, Information Systems and Information Technology (IT) department staff members, the superintendent, the vendor professional services team and the vendor training and implementation staffs. This work of art speaks to me because it reminds me of the many people who were slaves that tried to escape to freedom many years ago. • 9. Exploration Of Oil And Gas Resources Essay Introduction With the continued depletion of conventional oil and gas resources, the oil industry is now more than ever faced with exploration of unconventional and challenging oil and gas reserves. Such reserves call for novel drilling techniques and also require drilling fluids that can fulfil such drilling requirements. In most cases it s OBM that can provide hole stability and it is also the best choice for drilling highly sensitive wells. But as these OBMs are being used, operators must strike a balance between their desired high performance standards and environmental concerns of their regulators and local communities. These stringent environmental concerns have led to research and development of many water based drilling muds but these muds still don t offer the desired drilling performances like OBMs. We shall now look at the advantages and disadvantages of both OBMs and WBMs Advantages of WBM: WBMs pose a comparably minimal risk to the environment, there s a lower logistical challenge as compared to OBMs in terms of transporting of the liquid phase, For WBMs disposal doesn t require high transportation cost like OBMs especially for off shore operations that might require shipment to shore for treatment and disposal, Viscosity and Density are easily controlled, for low pressure formations, WBMs are a good choice, easier removal of drill cuttings at shakers and Less of a need for cuttings washing and drying. The enlightenment, which is also known as the age of reason is the name given to an important period in the history of western civilization. Enlightenment is often defined as a man s emergence from his self incurred immaturity. Enlightenment was the period during the 17th 18th century, when people saw the growth of modern science and a new faith in the power of reason and the improvement of the human condition. The developments took place in Germany, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The society increased through much of Europe, as well as Russia and Scandinavia plus the United States. The enlightenment was a time where the human ability to reason was glorified. With this, Kafka argues that modern society is similarly suspicious of those who devote their lives to faith. Additionally, the Hunger Artist s popularity is referred to as a passing fad, which suggests that the popularity of Christ will also wane with time. Kafka parodies the story of Christ with his usage of the two women and the impresario in the story. Nothing like the followers of Christ, these people are only helping the Artist for their own personal benefits the impresario for money, and the women for the honour . Both the impresario and the women do not express any real concern for the Artist s well being, as the impresario heartlessly markets pictures of the emaciated man, and the women recoil from his touch. Often living in a capitalistic society leads people to become greedy, and as a result many become too materialistic. This may happen because of the challenge to pursue the American dream where most of Americans are trying to fulfill it. Unfortunately, for most of people it is very difficult to acquire this high status and to secure a spot in the upper class society. Arthur Miller s, Death of a Salesman, and Lorraine Hansberry s, A Raisin the Sun, are two plays that reveal two main characters: Willy Loman and Walter Lee Young, characters that reflect typical features of the people who struggles to achieve the American Dream. Although they may have common characteristics and share similarities, they also have numerous issues and are very different, setting them apart from other families and even each other. Therefore, the main focus of this paper will be to compare and put in contrast these two great characters. In both plays, A Raisin the Sun and Death of a Salesman, the father (Walter and Willy) is the main individual that holds his attention throughout the plays. Because of their roles are often changing in the plays, Walter and Willy can be the protagonist and the antagonist. That being said, they both have goals to possess their own business and to be their own boss. They both strive to live wealthy. As Walter says No...It was always money, Mama. We just didn t know about it (Hansberry). This reveals that Walter is more materialistic instead of considering the feeling of his family. Willy and Walter are very similar in many ways. For instance, they both are trying to be good fathers. Walter s goal to get rich is influenced by his restless desire to offer to his family a better life: You tired, ain t you? Tired of everything. Me, the boy, the way we live this beat up hole everything. Ain t you? (Discovering Literature, 1295). Meanwhile, the love that Willy has for his sons is undeniable. The significant binary oppositions that are used are men versus women, foreigner versus citizen, and god versus man. The contrast between men versus women is an important opposition in both plays. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The binary opposition of man versus woman starts off strong, but Euripides switches the roles in both plays. In The Bacchae the woman worship Dionysus. Pentheus disguises himself as a woman, and goes off to view the women in the mountains, which is Dionysus plan the whole time. Pentheus dresses up as a woman and admits to wanting to see the women up at the mountains, and this goes against Pentheus anger at the beginning of the play (Bacchae 813 814). In the end of the play the women overpower Pentheus and destroy him to pieces (Bacchae 1125 1140). This is an example of the women being controlling of their own actions and being stronger than the men. In Medea the stereotype of the man and the woman switch. Medea is no longer going to sit around and let every man walk all over her; she states in her speech that she will take revenge on everybody that caused her misery (Medea 364 409). Barlow emphasizes on the reversal of the stereotype, stating that Medea, is a woman, moreover, who simply refuses to any longer to accept at any rate Greek female stereotypes unless to use them with calculation to gain her own immediate ends (158). Death has its own control; it is something that human cannot decide themselves but only death can do stop for human, invite them into its carriage, not vice versa. It is a contradictory to Emily s poem. In line 9 Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men indicates death as a slave as it does what has been ordered from the superior ones. Death takes human s life not because he is willing to do so but because he is forced to do so. In line 10 11, And dost with poison, war and sickness... can make us sleep as well the speaker associates death with poison, war and sickness as death is not the only factor of human s deceases which then the speaker posts rhetorical question for death to stop being proud. Also, the usage of rhetorical questions like in line 2 For thou art not so makes death fragile. Further, the last line in this poem And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die points out that at the end, the only one who dies is death itself which will be discussed in the element of Christian theology in this essay. The ending also eventually argues that death is weak and vulnerable, not in control and that is the reason why human should not fear death. All the arguments made by the speaker in this poem creates death less powerful and less control of itself which illustrates a condescending tone to elucidate death s incapability to kill. Hence, both poets; Emily Dickinson and John Donne portray death as a phenomenon that human should not fear. But ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Chicago Convention proposed the formation of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which later became a part of the UN in 1947. Many of the countries which the Allies were at war Germany, Japan, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy and Finland were not invited and were not represented but it was the absence of the USSR which was mainly felt as the USSR represented the largest land territory of the world and were expected to play an important role in after war arrangements. This negative attitude of the USSR was perhaps a sign of the cold war mistrust and isolation and that the secretive USSR was not ready to open its air space to international cooperation. The official reason given for the non participation though was that among the nations taking part in the conference, there were some countries like Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal which for a number of years have carried on a hostile policy towards the Soviet Union. 3. Innocence consists of six, four line stanzas, where as experience is only three, four line stanzas. The length of each line is also longer in innocence when compared to experience. The children are then allowed to roam freely naked and white , white being yet another intentional placement of a symbolic colour, on a green plain . The use of the colour green in this case is a slightly less obvious. When combined with the assumption that the placement of the Chimney Sweeper is in a sooty, black city, one could assume that Blake is against the large scale industrialization that was demolishing God s natural beauty. The key turning point in this poem is in the third line of the fifth stanza. And the angel told Tom, if he d be a good boy, He d have God for his father, and never want joy . This line has the potential to turn all of the poem around. In 1946, at the age of twenty three, he began to carry his own voice and write poems that would thereafter strike his characteristic note (Thwaite, Introduction xv). The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an early example of the simple diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of Larkin s great works. This program was performed by aerial shooting from the helicopter. A man is bound to feel that in the careless approach of others, he himself stands accused: is he not guilty of the same crime, of distorting history to his own ends, lacking merely the person with sufficient subtlety to call him to account? To some degree interviewing for the social sciences and the purpose of research resembles clinical intake interviews. Both processes are in fact reality constructing, meaning making occasions . In my opinion the qualitative interview while it may develop a different ebb and flow than research specific qualitative interview, as they tend to have more targeted overall research questions, they both have the same aim in mind; to collect, interpret, and analysis data on some level. This article at times left me frustrated at its negative depiction of the qualitative interview and that of the research experience for both interviews and interviewees. I don t think I agree with every assumption stated by the authors but it did pin point how at times researchers are merely using their interviewees but I know the same could be said for quantitative research; but as mentioned in a previous articles, interviewees also benefit from this experience. As interviewers and researchers it is true that we are making some private details public, we do so in hoping to benefit other individuals in similar situations. While I understand the perspective on manipulation, every situation or circumstance could be manipulated, as researchers we can at times be the manipulator or the ones being manipulated. As the author stated this article was one sided and bias I believe further evidence or experience is warranted to understand their point of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Enforcing Gender Roles By Sectioning Off Toys Toys. When you walk into any store you ll find two seperate toy rows. A bright pink row filled with Barbies, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shop. Princesses, stuffed animals, dresses and sparkles. The other section is cool blues with Nerf Guns, Legos, and Hotwheels. What do the expected toys for each gender say about gender roles and how our society silently enforces them? Are we enforcing gender roles by sectioning off toys? • 45. The Importance Of College In College College is something that every high school student looks forward to, and whether they get a bachelor s degree or doctorates, they can expect to be more successful in the future than those who don t go to college. However, as with every college, we must prove ourselves with more than just grades and extracurriculars, but also with personality and how we learn from failure. This is what I have to present to you today, my personality, feats, and faults, and how I have grown over the past 2 decades. Like all people, I do have a creative side, and it is the side of me that I prefer to show off. I can be innovative, comedic, helpful, and just overall a great person to talk to. Whenever I talk, whether it be my friends or people I know from class, I always try my best to slip a joke in based on the situation, whether it be a pun, punch line or just be funny in general. It always brings a smile to my face to make others smile and feel good. While this holds true, I am also able to focus and be helpful to the group. I like to help in any way that I can, because in a way, helping people is like telling a good joke, if done right, it can make people happy and smile. Being a leader is not what I prefer to do, I d much rather be a helpful part of the group, but if push comes to shove, I ll take charge of the situation and lead the group. Other things that make me creative is my fondness of fixing and creating things. I ve always liked taking a screwdriver to an object and seeing what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
