An activist is a person who campaigns for some kind of social change. Being an activist means being
involved in a protest or a political or social cause. Many different activist groups exist around the
world, fighting for different beliefs and reasons. Protesting, or being an activist against racial
inequality has always existed in America. Activism for racial equality in America was widely known
with rights for African Americans after slavery but since then diversity has increased over time. Not
only is there still activism for racial equality among African Americans, but also for many other races
that have made America their home, that discrimination. Many things since the Civil Rights
Movement have also changed, like technology and the use of social media and how it collaborates

The media is a citizen s gateway to the world of politics. For the majority of Americans the news is
their primary source of information and the substance of that news very often is based on the number
of viewers it will draw, not the importance of the story. Basically the media shows you the stories that
it wants you to know, but it also shows the stories it wants you to get upset about. A trait that the
general media has developed for the past double decades is that of jumping on a story particularly
about political figures and going into frenzy for as long as the public s attention span will allow them
to. Often times it is because of something a person did wrong or controversially, but that is not always
the case as it could be over something very ordinary but just surprising. Media feeding frenzies can
sometimes be warranted, and other times they just seem to happen because there s nothing else for

Acid rain is a widespread problem, one that plagues the environment the world over. Acid Rain is the
resultant by product of burning fossil fuel which in turn mixes with moisture in the atmosphere and
falls to the ground as rain, snow, sleet, etc. Acid deposition is a more precise name than acid rain
because acid can precipitate in several forms, as stated previously. It can also combine with dry
particles and fall to the ground; therefore it is called dry deposition whereas acid coming down in rain
is called wet deposition.
Generally, the public has known about air pollution since the Roman philosopher, Seneca, remarked
on his hometown s polluted skies in AD 61. Even though people were aware of the problem, they
chose to remain ignorant to its effects and repercussions. Up until the last century people have ignored

Acid rain forms in the atmosphere from chemicals created by the burning of fossil fuels. When coal

nitrogen dioxide (NO2) designated by the symbol NOX. These dangerous chemicals come from the

A prevalent theme throughout Dracula is that of a woman s role in society. The main female
protagonist, Mina, is a delicate balance between the strong and independent New Woman and the
quiet, proper Victorian woman that was customary in English society prior to the 1900s. She embodies
the kindness, sense of duty, and femininity of a Victorian woman, while tentatively embracing the
strength, bravery, and intelligence of New Women. Despite this slight reform, Mina still desires to be

I felt comfortable there. I liked Brazil second, but didn t like the city I lived in. Morocco has definitely
been the most difficult for me, and I haven t learned to love it, not even like it so much. I more just
tolerate it. However, Morocco is also very different from the United States, and doesn t have many
