The German People did “Nazi” Hitler Coming
In 1932, Germany was in turmoil. Mass inflation had caused the prices of all commodities to
rise, while the German people lived paycheck to paycheck. This type of socio economic climate
is notorious for breeding radical political ideologies. Ever since Germany lost the Great War (now
called World War I) in 1918, the Germans had been required to pay reparations to the countries they
had fought. While the US and UK prospered during the 1920s, Germanysuffered. In order to pay
off its debts, Germany raised taxes on the people and this caused businesses to increase their prices
without raising employee salaries. The stock market crash of 1929 only made the situation worse
for Germany, as the US and Britain stopped paying loans to Germany. All... Show more content on

If the German people had been more conscientious about electing a hatemonger, the Holocaust may
have been prevented. Robert H. Jackson, an American prosecutor at the Nuremburg Trials, stated
that of 9,600,000 Jews who lived in Nazi dominated Europe, sixty percent are authoritatively
estimated to have perished. 5,700,000 Jews are missing from the countries in which they
formerly lived, and over 4,500,000 cannot be accounted for by the normal death rate.
(Goldensohn) Additionally, when Hitler was elected chancellor in 1932, Germany was a
democracy with many of the same civil liberties enjoyed in America. Slowly over the next several
years, those liberties were stripped from the people. The Nazi regime outlawed freedom of speech,
freedom of the press, and dissent. They took control of all forms of communication in Germany:
newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, movies, and radio.
(USHMM) While criticism of the Weimar Republicunder President Hindenburg was common,
once Hitler came to power, people might be sent to a concentration camp for speaking out against
Hitler. This shouldn t have surprised the people of Germany. Before Hitler was elected to office,
he was a very vocal critic of freedom of speech and democracy. It is unfortunate that the German
people were not more careful when it came to

Animal Assisted Therapy By Dr. Levinson
Animal assisted therapy was created in 1792 to help patients in mental asylums to be able to
interact with animals in peaceful environments and opportunities that otherwise they would not
see. This was created by Dr. Levinson when he first saw a dog and boy that he had been treating
interact with one another. This soon began to spread throughout the countries. It first arrived in
the U.S. in 1944 through 1945 at a Hospital north of New York City, the hospital called Pawling
army air force convalescent. The patients here interacted with farm animals such as horses and
chickens. But with many things it took a long time before any data from places like this was
collected. However it is becoming a more respected field among professionals ( Altschiller, D.
2011). It has been seen that pets can help calm people, lower blood pressure and they are great
for people or children that cannot or do not relate well to other people. Pets may help patients
recover from acute illness a study of patients following their discharge from the critical care unit
found that 11 out of 39 patients without pets died within the subsequent year, compared with only
three of 53 patients who had pets (Floyd, et al. 2003).There are many animals that can be used in
pet therapybut we are going to mainly focus on dogs and horses. Therapy Dogs are people s pets
registered with an organization such as Therapy Dogs International, founded in 1976, the dogs are

Difference Between Romeo And Juliet And Pyramus And Thisbe
Some of the greatest writers of all time actually found the start of their best ideas and works from
other artists. William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, for example, used the same archetype that
the Greek writer Ovid used in his short story, Pyramus and Thisbe. In each story, two star crossed
lovers meet against the will of their parents, which soon leads to the pair s demise. However, more
than just the archetypical plot is shared between these two masterpieces. The tragedies of Romeo
and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbeboth have their own representations of lack of communication,
misinterpretation, and impassable obstacles for crucial information. Firstly, the lack of
communication was a huge factor in the deaths of both story s protagonists. In Romeo and Juliet,
Balthasar getting to Romeo before Friar Lawrence s letter, explaining Juliet s death , was a crucial
part of the story. This was shown as Balthasar stated to Romeo, I saw her laid low in her kindred s...

In Pyramus and Thisbe, Pyramus found Thisbe s veil, bloody and torn, and misinterpreted that
Thisbe was dead, As he approached the stream, his fears were confirmed upon seeing Thisbe s
veil torn and bloodstained. Unable to find Thisbe and fearing that she was dead, Pyramus was
unable to contain his sorrow. This led to Pyramus stabbing himself soon after. In Romeo and
Juliet, the misinterpretation took place in the Capulet tomb, where Juliet was placed after she
drank the contents of the Friar s vial. After Romeo heard the false news of her death from
Balthasar in Mantua, he found her sleeping in the tomb and assumed she was dead, O my love,
my wife! / Death, hath sucked the honey of thy breath... (5.3.100 101). In both stories, one assumed
the other was dead because of their lack of knowledge, which lead to their desperate choices and
catastrophic ends. However, the misinterpretation of death was not the final fatal

MusГ©e des Beaux Arts by W. H. Auden Essay
Suffering is embedded in our daily lives. There are devastating things going on in our daily
environments and yet, people seldom realize this as they occupy themselves with other tasks. W.H.
Auden s, MusГ©e des Beaux Arts, is a statement on human perceptions and how we use them to
observe, or block out humansuffering. While we are doing ordinary things like eating, or opening a
window, bad things can be happening to others and it is as easy as looking up, to see what is
actually going on. Auden illustrates societies indifference to human suffering through the form of
his poem and by alluding to artwork that compares human perceptions and juxtaposes ordinary
images with images of suffering and tragedy. The form of MusГ©e des Beaux Arts... Show more

The lines are enjambed with phrases stopping in the middle of new lines and lines spilling into
other lines. The lines do not pause to acknowledge the end of sentences like people seldom pause
their daily lives to acknowledge the suffering of those around them. Auden also uses bad syntax
in the last line of the poem, had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on. Auden may have
chosen to write in this free form to demonstrate that people are so indifferent to what is going on
around them that it does not make any difference what form the poem is written in, as it will
only be overlooked and not given any attention. The form of the poem allows the reader to
consider the ways in which suffering is masked by the frenzy of everyday life and that even the
acknowledged suffering of others does not seem to be of any concern to anybody but the sufferer.
Auden s poem is a criticism of human perceptions and how we use them to detect, or suppress
human suffering. In the first half of the poem Auden compares versions of indifference by
portraying youth and age, animals, and humans (Shmoop, 2014). In the first few lines of the poem,
Auden comments on the perceptions of the Old Masters and how they were never wrong in their
discernment of suffering. He then compares the old masters perceptions to the perceptions of
children and animals and how they are unaware of,

Giza Informative Speech
Intro
Hi there! Welcome in the east wing! This wing is all going to be about the 7 wonders of the
ancient world. You will find the Great Pyramid of Giza, The lighthouse of Alexandria, the temple
of Artemis at Ephesus and so on! Some of them you might know about and well ... some of them
you didn t! So now stop reading this and have fun going back in time!
The great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest monument on the list of the 7 wonders of the ancient
world. It is also the last one standing.
The great pyramid was built between 2584 and 2561 BCE for the fourth dynasty Khufu (in Greek;
Cheops). It took approximately 20 years and 20,000 workers to complete the construction. But they
never used slaves. Lots of farmers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the bluestones for the construction are imported from places up to 225 km! So how did they
manage to get stones that weigh more than 25 tons to the place where they are now? It s still a
mystery. There are some speculations that it s done with boats or partially by glaciers.
Funfact: Stonehenge went on the auction block in 1915. It s previous owner died in WWI. It was
sold for ВЈ 6600, and three years later donated to the British government.
Statue of Athena in the Parthenon
The statue of Athena in the Parthenon is also not on the list of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
But with the fact that the Parthenon itself is an amazing structure ALSO The statue of Athena used
to be standing there...How can it not be on the list??
The magnificent temple in Athens was built between 447 and 432 B.C. It was dedicated to their
goddess Athena (Goddess of wisdom, craft and war).
The temple was constructed to give a home to the statue of Athena, which is also made by
Pheidias. The statue was dedicated to her for her contribution by the victories in the Persian
Wars. It was more than 12 meters high and was mate of ivory (for the body) and gold (for the
armor). She was fully armed. In her right hand she held or Nike (Victory) or an owl (Wisdom). In

Night Elie Wiesel Essay
Did having Elie s father alive affect him from surviving longer or did he just hold him back?
Night is a book written by a man who at the time was just a teenager, he was a Jew and just
because of that he was abused in many ways. His name is Elie Wiesel. Elie watched as so many
Jews were beaten, killed, or being criticized in the concentration camps. Elie s father helped Elie
get through the contraction camps in so many ways. While reading this book I saw how they
would help each other through the tough times. Elie and Elie s father wouldn t just think of
themselves, they would of think of each other. In the concentration camps the SS men didn t feed

saw him with the polish girl. I was thinking of my father. He would be suffering more than I

and survive for his father. I said nothing. Nor did he. Never before had we understood each other
so clearly (Wiesel 68 69). Elie and his father have a bond together that on the day of New Years,
when Elie went to see his father before going to sleep they both knew what each other were

time consuming and costly. The separate jurisdictions maintain their own registry is through the

Brain On Love
The Brain on Love
All relationships change the brain but the most important ones are the intimate bonds that cultivate
or ruin us, that shape one s memories, emotions and personality. Love carries multiple definitions
but in one s own words, love is a deep emotion of affection and attachment toward others. It s been
a significant theme for artists for thousands of years, being a source of inspiration for poetry, music,
literature, paintings, and many other fine arts. Due to the biological and evolutionary perspective
on love, different parts of the brain activate love and trigger neurotransmitters, which causes the
variety of behaviors and feelings that one experiences.

The human brain contains more than 1000 neurons. According to the articles, Brain on Love ,
Love: A Biological, Psychological and Philosophical Study , and Love is more than just a kiss: A
Neurobiological Perspective on Love and Affection , oxytocin, vasopressin, and dopamine are just a
few of the neurotransmitters that release chemical responses in the brain when love occurs.
Oxytocin is in nuclei of the hypothalamus and releases into the circulation by the pituitary gland
(Boer, Buel, and Horst). Oxytocin plays an important role in pair bonding and romantic love. It
encourages cuddling between lovers and increases pleasure during lovemaking (Chapman).
Furthermore, oxytocin specifically activates a female s emotions of affection, trust, and security
towards others (Brain on Love, 14). Vasopressin is quite like oxytocin in that it also triggers pair
bonding. Especially in animals, vasopressin allows pair bonding to occur when two animals
develop a strong attachment to each other, which then leads to mating and breeding. (Brain on
Love, 14). Dopamine plays several roles in the human body, not just in the brain and is crucial when
falling in love. Specifically, in the brain, dopamine plays a significant role in attraction. It stimulates
the hypothalamus to release multiple hormones (Chapman). Dopamine is associated as the pleasure
system of the

Why English Is Used In Bollywood
Research Question 2? Why English is used in Bollywood films? 1.The role of English in India
society
After India gained independence, the status of English was not dwindled or lowered. Additionally,
it was regarded as the equal importance of second language in India, particularly in education. It is
even perceived as a preference for the instruction medium in school which enjoys the higher status
than Hindi medium schools. Furthermore, English has been widely spoken by middle or upper
class. With the global prevalence of English in the 20th and 21st century, English spawned
unprecedented opportunities for India s economy. Therefore, English remained its status despite
ongoing objections to protest Hindi and other local languages. Moreover, English ... Show more

The intensive success of box offices of Hindi film outside the India characterized its
international feature. As for its audience, Bollywood film makers have been attempting to
attract audience crossing the boundaries and achieve universal appeal by finding a middle path
to make the film catering for any audience (Ganti, T. 2013)..Therefore, English based dialogues
in Bollywood films seems to contribute to appealing wider audiences in terms of region, social
status and taste. Since 2000, a new audience category appeared on the Bollywood vocabulary
which is called multiplexes. This group of audience became the niche audience for Hindi
filmmakers featured by smaller budget and appeal for elite urban lifestyles and preference to
westernized and various themed movies other than traditional dancing and singing. This led to
the growth of making English movies like the breakthrough movie Bachchan s 2005 film Black,
a smash hit based on the life story of a girl who transcended the twin disabilities of blindness and
deafness. Loosely based on the experiences of Helen Keller, Black was a Hindi movie, but a large
part of the dialogue was in English. In this way, Bollywood s decision to craft home grown English
films makes commercial

The Scandinavian Banking Crisis of 1990 Focus Sweden
This essay was done by William Segrave, and Muhidul Hussain only.
The majority of banking crises in last 30 years have been caused be deregulation of the banking
industry followed by rapid unstable credit expansion leading to a unsustainable asset pricing
bubbles. Scandinavian Banking Crisis was not exception. When the bubble bursts, the effects can
ripple through the entire economy, and can cause massive disruption and loss in confidence.
By 1985 Sweden was experiencing higher inflation rates that many other similar countries, caused
by high interest rates and volatile currency. Due to high inflation and a real after tax interest rates
were low or even negative. It is only following the banking crash that Swedish households faced
positive borrowing costs for the first time in 30 years. The Swedish economy managed to have
negative interest rates for so long due to the banking regulations, which were soon the be lifted.
Sweden had a regulated banking sector. Banks, insurance companies, and other institutions were
subjected to lending ceilings, and placement requirements (liquidity ratios) required them to invest
in bonds issued by the government and by mortgage institutions. Large budget deficits and an
ambitious programme for residential investment led to a situation where banks were required to
hold more than 50 per cent of their assets in such bonds, typically with long maturities and with

credibility, addressed the abusive treatment of women around the world, logically responded to that

She declares, when families flourish, communities and nations do as well. That is why every
woman, every man, every child, every family, and every nation on this planet does have a stake
in the discussion that takes place here (n. pag.). She begins to conclude her speech with the
unifying structure of family. To create a family, a woman must be present, each of those family
compile to create communities, and communities create nations. She uses this to explain that
women help form the base of all nations and therefore, the equal treatment of women will reflect
prosperously on countries. This supported her argument because it appealed to the diplomats in
the audience that can make changes in their various countries around the world. She brings her
argument to a close with the following remarks, The time is now. We must move beyond
rhetoric. We must move beyond recognition of problems to working together, to have the

closing of her argument because it specifically calls her audience to make bigger changes than

equality for all results in much different changes. She calls for her audience to join forces with

The Importance Of Social Cohesion
Australia flourishes in an environment of a variety of cultures. We pertain to the ideas of
acceptance and understanding of individuals that have the intention to become apart of team
Australia. But what do we know Australia as? A community of equal citizens Abbott declares
(The Conversation, 2014). We can all assume that we as individuals idealise a country of equity
and equality in all aspects of life, whether it be race, gender, beliefs or political views. In a world
where we want fairness and equality, we coin the concept of social and cultural cohesion, which can
be defined as the ties that hold people together (Humanrights.gov.au, 2017). Moreover, social
cohesion is regarded as a shared vision, and is a process rather than an outcome
(Scanlonfoundation.org.au, 2017). Jenson hypothesised a framework that identifies the
importances of social cohesion between individuals. He states that the disruption of social cohesion
effects dimensions of belonging, legitimacy, recognition, participation and inclusion (Study.com,
2017). In contrast to this we come across an unwanted prejudice and discrimination towards certain
aspects of life. We define this as cultural conflict, the conflict that occurs when different cultural
values and beliefs clash with opposing values and beliefs (LeBaron, 2003). In regards to Jenson s
framework of social cohesion, cultural conflict revolves around the five dimension. With disruption
to this, views are altered into a more negative outlook,

Factors Caused By Recreational Scuba Diving And Snorkeling...
Globally, marine ecosystems, in particular, coral reefs, are experiencing increasing pressure due
to the growth in recreational scuba diving, and snorkeling. Pressure refers to the frequency, and
quantity of divers, and dive boats on any particular reef. This pressure often results in damage to
the reef, and is caused by divers, snorkelers, and even dive boat anchors, and anchor lines,
furthermore, this damage takes significant time to repair, due to the rate at which coral grows, and
repairs itself. Although this damage is not irreparable, continual pressure by recreational dive and
snorkeling industries, can lead to damage beyond the reef s ability to recover. Damaged reefs result
in loss of sea life, vibrancy, and color, the primary draw for divers, snorkelers, and other marine
enthusiasts. Consequently, this damage extends to the economies of the local communities, in
which water related activities are a primary source of revenue. To sustain these local communities
economies, and tourist enjoyment, private SCUBA organizations can coordinate, and facilitate
options to reduce the recreational damage of the ocean s reef system through education, artificial
reef attractions, and alternative dive programs.
SCUBA diving is a growing, and global recreational sport, with one certification agency, PADI,
claiming an annual average of 900,000 new diver certifications globally . Of course, not all of

Dependency of Love
Love is the ubiquitous force that drives all people in life. If people did not want, give, or receive
love, they would never experience life because it is the force that completes a person. People rely
on this seemingly absent force although it is ever present. Elizabeth Barrett Browning is an
influential poet who describes the necessity of lovein her poems from her book Sonnets from the
Portuguese. She writes about love based on her relationship with her husband. Her life is
dependent on him, and she expresses this same reliance of love in her poetry. She uses literary
devices to strengthen her argument for the necessity of love. The necessity of love is a major theme

She must instantly renew thy presence just as she breathes, or the love could be lost (Mermin
151). Plants constantly require and take in carbon dioxide to stay alive. Just as plants rely on
carbon dioxide, people absorb and let out love in order to live. Through the image of a plant
embodying love, Browning harvest the reader s own feelings of love and awakens the reality
that people depend on love. Just as love grows within a person, it can also become an obstacle.
Browning imagines what happens when love becomes a burden in the reader s life: bands of
greenery which inshpere thee, Drop heavily down, burst, shattered everywhere! (Browning). The
speaker retains the burden of her thoughts of not giving or receiving love; they weigh her down
almost to the point of death. She needs to turn her thoughts of love into actions or she will die with
the burden (Moran 147). The reader may feel the same about their feelings of love and is able to
empathize with the speaker; on the contrary, they can feel sympathetic since they should listen to
the speaker to release the sentiments so that the speaker no longer holds the burden of her thoughts.
Browning also uses figurative language to describe the necessity of love. The author s love is
ubiquitous with the description of [loving] thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can
reach (Browning). The author utilizes

Italian Neo Realism During World War II
Introduction Italian Neo Realism is a movement and trend in Italian film based on the changed
social and economic realities forced upon Italy by WWII. It is a style of film characterized by
stories set amongst the poor and working class, filmed on location, frequently using
nonprofessional actors. Italian Neo Realism relates closely to the war realities in Italy at the end
of World War II and after World War II. Italian neorealist films mostly contend with the difficult
economical and moral conditions of post World War II Italy, reflecting the changes in the Italian
psyche and the conditions of everyday life: poverty and desperation. The neorealist movement

(Film making techniques used to reflect the reality), The harsh reality of war torn Italy is
presented in the texts Rome, Open City and Bicycle Thieves through specific film techniques
that the directors of the non professional films and actors have chosen. The main techniques used
were Non diegetic sound: Music is used throughout the film to transition the mood and
atmosphere. Cinematography is used through the choices of shots in the film to influence the
meaning through showing the harsh postwar realities in Italy after the world war. Shot sizes
influences the meaning to the audience. Close up shots/extreme close ups shots and long shots.
4 In Bicycle Thieves non diegetic sound: Slow music was used to show that there was a sad
mood and atmosphere in the movie when Antonio gets his bike stolen and while they walk with
the crowd at the end of the movie. Upbeat, happy music was used to show there was a good
mood and atmosphere in the film when Antonio received the job, when he got his new bike and
was working. Close up shots are taken of Antonio during tough times when he is trying to find
his bike, it helps the audience gain access to the mind and thought process of him when he
figures out he will never find his bike in the end, lose his job and have no family income. Long

The Gospel Of Luke Pronounces
In the Gospel of Luke, Luke pronounces all that Jesus began to do and teach until the day he was
taken up, after he had given instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles... (Act 1:1 2 CSB).
However, Acts is the account of all that Jesus continued to do and to teach through His apostles by
the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Luke portrays the role of the Holy Spirit as being given to
help accomplish the Great Commission throughout his book. Fernando provides a great outline of
Acts when he states, The first chapter records the promise of the Holy Spirit... the second his
descent, and the rest... his work in and through the church. It could be concluded that Luke s
portrayal of Pentecost demonstrates the larger narrative on how the Church

Explain The Empirical Formula Of Magnesium Oxide

Magnesium Oxide Lab Report
Purpose:
In this experiment we combined magnesium metal with oxygen in air by heating. We used the
measured mass of magnesium metal and magnesium oxide to determine the empirical formula of
the oxide product. We had to find the experimental percent composition (by mass) of MgO, come
up with the experimental empirical formula of magnesium oxide, and balance the chemical
equation: Mg (s) + O2 (g) в†’ MgxOy (s).
Materials and Safety:
Bunsen Burner

Metal Ring
Clay Triangle

We know that because the mole to mole ratio of Mg to O is 1:1, there must be equal numbers of
moles of O as Mg. Because we received fewer moles of O than Mg in the calculated empirical
formula, and because the percent error is negative, we know that we either lost some material
during the experiment, did not burn all of the magnesium, and/or had other, lighter elements bond
with the Mg. We did lose some material on the spatula after mashing it. This reduced the overall
mass of the material causing the calculated moles of O to be less than the original amount of Mg.
Another possibility is that not all of the magnesium had reacted with oxygen. This would have
resulted in fewer amounts of O for every Mg. The last scenario is that the magnesium bonded with
elements lighter than oxygen such as nitrogen. This would have resulted in a lower mass of
magnesium oxide. This lower mass would cause a higher Mg to O ratio and change the empirical

The Importance Of Parent And Family Involvement In Education
There are many issues discussed when it comes to education including testing, school
accountability, teacher proficiency, and much more. There are many initiatives, programs, and
reforms being implemented to try to improve education outcomes for students. While the school,
administration, and teachers are an important part of student education, there is also another vital
item needed to encourage and ensure student learning: parent or familyinvolvement in their child s
education.
There are countless positive associations between parent and family engagement and student
academic confidence and success. Many organizations, including the National Parent Teacher
Alliance (PTA) and Parents for Public Schools (PPS), work to encourage parents and families take
on an active role in supporting and reinforcing their child s education. The PTA website gives many
parent guides to support and direct engagement. Their guide Making Sure Your Child Gets the
Education They Deserve advises parents to have high expectations of school buildings and
equipment as well as initiate and maintain strong contact with their child s teacher (pta.org). The
PPS websites gives similar advice to parents and families stating, School success takes great
leadership, effective teachers and engaged parents. We believe that parents are an essential
education partner from the moment their children are born (2017).
Many families face obstacles to engaging and participating in their child s education

Spongebob Vs. Squidward Tentacles
Nickelodeon s Spongebob Squarepants has two main characters, Spongebob (of course) and
Squidward Tentacles. The two have some similarities but many difference between each other. Even
though they both live under the sea and next neighbors, it s clear that they are two different
characters.
One obvious difference between Mr. Tentacles and Squarepants is their appearance. For one,
Spongebob is a yellow sponge where Squidward is, well a gray squid. Spongebob has only four
limbs and Squidward has eight. One is a long, lanky character and the other is more of a short,
stubby individual. It s clear when you look at Spongebob, you see his white shirt, brown box pants,
red tie, white tube socks and black shoes. On the other hand, Squidward only ... Show more content

Spongebob is a joyful character that loves life itself. Squidward just seems to mope and
complain bout everything. You can see how much Spongebob loves Squidward but he always
knows to shut Spongebob out of life. Squidward is more of a matured character because he doesn
t goof around like Spongebob does with his best friend, Patrick. Kind of explains why Squidward is
continuously yelling at him and telling him to grow up.
Spongebob and Squidward (like their personalities) have interest in absolutely two different
things. For example, Spongebob loves his job work as a fry cook as compared to Squidward, who
hates the fact that he even works as a cashier for Mr. Krabs. Spongebob loves to go jellyfishing
with Patrick while Squidward enjoy staying in his house to play his clarinet, Claire. When it
comes to food, Spongebob s favorite food is the Krabby Patty and jelly from jellyfish. Squidward s
taste buds are completely different because he likes the taste of bread in a can.
There are a couple of similarities that Spongebob and Squidward share when you see the two on tv.
Both characters work for Mr. Eugene Krabs, himself. Even though, Squidward hates being around

Symptoms And Treatment Of Vascular Closure
Background
Vascular closure devices following cardiac catherization through the femoral artery have been
gaining significant traction since its use in the mid 1990s. Compared to the previous gold standard
of manual compression, VCDs allow for shortened time to ambulation, decreased duration of
hospitalization post procedure, and increased patient comfort. The devices have also shown
safeness comparable to manual compression. Despite the many advantages and variety of devices
available, there are still complications to take into account. More common issues include device
failure, bleeding, and hematoma. Less common but more serious complications include infection,
ischemia, limb loss, and death.

Due to these findings patient was directly admitted to the hospital and placed on a heparin drip. On
physical exam patient had absent pulses below the right femoral artery. However, there was no
discoloration, change of temperature, or sensory as well as motor deficits of the right lower
extremity. Patient was taking a low dose aspirin and red yeast rice for cholesterol management at
that time.
The following morning the patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right common femoral
artery with thrombectomy and a 6 x 20 mm balloon angioplasty, reducing a 90% stenosis to less
than 30%. A spider catheter was deployed to perform the thrombectomy, however an atrial blazer
catheter failed to retrieve the spider device as it was unable to completely collapse. As a result the
patient was taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall
of the common femoral artery with its contents.
The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue
attached to the spider device. The foreign body was noted to be a Angio Seal plug from the left heart
catheterization that had been presumed a thrombus.
Discussion
Promising results have shown that the Angio seal VCD has excellent efficacy and safety after
routine catheterization and intervention. However, clear indications of use and risk of
complications need to be evaluated and monitored.

My Dreams Of The American Dream
The wide field, brimmed primarily with yellow, sprouting, lush, wild flowers and tall green
grass, swayed gently in the crisp breeze. Deep within an abundance of towering pine trees, where
the bluebirds chirped and the frogs croaked, babbled a crooked creek. The air was filled with the
smell of moist bark and sweet blossoms, the sound of bees buzzing, and the feeling of serenity. I
had lived in my very own oasis where all of my childhooddreams were born. I dreamed of all my
firsts , my first kiss, my first love, my first high school dance, my first varsity soccer game in the
stadium under the lights, my first day as a college student in a foreign city, my first paycheck as an
employee, and countless more. My siblings and I staged and acted out various versions of the
perfect little family with the house located in the countryside surrounded by the white picket fence
to complete the stereotypical American Dream. My imagination was sparked by this magical
sanctuary where I led my siblings in the pursuit of our hopes and dreams for a future that now in
retrospect seemed untouchable.
Where every day brought another game and every hour brought another challenge, I was the queen
and I could achieve anything and conquer the world. I was unbeatable, the strongest, the fastest and
the bravest. On certain days our old oak tree would transform into a mighty, pirate ship reeking of
saltwater and seaweed, sailing the Indian Ocean and I would lead us to find buried treasures fighting

Research Paper On Widdershins
Widdershins is the opposite direction as the path the sun appears to move in when viewed from the
Northern Hemisphere. It can also be spelt withershins, widershins, or widderschynnes. Widdershins
is also known as counterclockwise, anti clockwise, or lefthandwise and is considered the direction
opposite from the usual. Walking around something and always keeping it to your left is walking
in a widdershin motion. The German word widersinin ( against + sense ) shares the same origin as
widdershins. The Lowland Scots used the term commonly.
In Wicca and Paganism, widdershins is the opposite direction that a circle is cast; it is instead the
direction that the circle is closed. For sun worshiping traditions and cultures, widdershins appears to

archaic terms that the players have to write down plausible definitions of the word. One player then

In conclusion, widdershins means counterclockwise. It is opposite as the apparent direction the sun

Starwars Episode 6 Essay
In starwars episode 6, Leia gets captured by Jabba the Hutt and released, Luke resumes his
whining (this time as a Jedi), and former Anakin turns to the light side after going through 3
episodes as Darth Vader. Luke is like his father in the sense that he has lost his mother, he learned
the force easily, and he saved his father just as Darth Vader
saved his son.
Luke is like his father, in the sense that he lost his mother. His mother died when giving birth to
both him and Leia, and although he didn t know his mother, he did have a similar attachment to a
man he called, Uncle Owen , who raised him, and then was killed by storm troopers. When Uncle
Owen was killed, Luke almost felt the same longing in his heart as his father before him, but

overcome with grief, he slew every sand person he could find. The action caused much anger in his

down. So although Luke and Anakin were both put in the same position, they both handled life
disappointments differently, Luke feeling sorry for himself, and Anakin became unable to control
his anger which resulted in a turn of will.
Another way Luke and Darth Vader were similar but diverse, is they both learned the force easily.

the self confidence to believe that he could indeed complete certain tasks Yoda set before him, the

The Paradox Of Avatar
Movies create realities. As life tells the stories of each, each moulds the reality which he/she
believes in. Movies are like these stories of life, but recorded within the bandwidth of camera to
capture a perspective. Also, movies are applied to reality, are the reflection of the world, or are the
doorsteps of escaping reality fantasy. As of what James Camerons Avatar, this movie reflected the
three statements above this sentence. Avatar is a critical acclaimed hit when it released, spanning
dollars after dollars of sales and revenue. The question remains, what is the story of this movie?
As for these statements about Avatar, this blog would try to answer some key aspects of the film
through the set questions given by lecturer though not all questions will be answered. The first
question that will be answered is, where in the film do you see critiques evident of the current

Post-Modernism Essay
In recent years, multiculturalism, tolerance and political correctness have been integrated into how
American society thinks. America seems to be trying to learn more about the ingredients of her
melting pot. These efforts can be best understood by examining post modernism. Post modernism is
especially important to breaking down stereotypes such as those that exist surrounding the black
family.
To understand post modernism we must first understand modernism. Modernism is the philosophy
that began with the Enlightenment. The Enlightenment was an era when science and art flourished.
European society used the Enlightenment to object to the oppression of the church. This era

The meta narrative for the black family is defined by the Western standards: income and education
and any other quantifiable unit.
The history of the black family is difficult to research according to Barnetta McGhee White
because there are few written documents to substantiate the oral history (Staples, 1991 p.50). In
terms of the prevailing meta narrative, familial ties must be documented by family trees. Black
families, due to the breakdown of the family through the slave trade, rely on oral history to tell the
story of their lineage (Staples, 1991, p 51). The genealogy of author Barnetta McGhee White helps
illustrate certain points. The first is that since a majority of the research into genealogy is
dependent on written documents dating into the founding years of this nation, these documents are
only telling what the writer wants the reader to know. The history of black families is told through
the story of the slaveholder and, thus, gives information relevant to the business of slavery
everything that measurable. Another point is that those in power in the past control the future. If
current society is viewed in chronicled terms, there is little control blacks can have over the
account of their family history because it will always be in terms of the dominant meta narrative
based on modernity. The conclusion to be made by the former points is that modern thought is to
blame for stereotypes against blacks.

CAN. The study included 56 eligible participants with T2DM. Our study reveals that a significant
proportion of patients with T2DM have CAN. Study found that overall 85% of persons with
T2DM have CAN (combined early and definite CAN). Mean fasting blood glucose and BMI were
significantly associated with CAN in type 2 DM. Parasympathetic involvement was more than
sympathetic involvement. Out of all tests performed, heart rate response to standing (EI ratio) and
deep breathing (30:15 ratio) were the most common test affected in our study population.
S. Aggarwal et al [41] in their study on 50 patients with non cardiac Diabetes Mellitus had

children. This really sets up the film s discussion on the influence Disney has on children. By

What Does It Mean To Be An Adult
What age do you or others you know typically think people become an adult, it s close to eighteen
right, well some believe otherwise. You see, some think that once you can support yourself, you

your 18 and not fully developed to the full extent your body will go you cannot be considered an
adult. Plenty of people believe that at the age of 18 you re an adult, legally yes, but your brain is
still growing which means you re not grown up you need to finish growing before your grown up.

During their fifty years as a band, the Rolling Stones have released twenty nine studio albums,
eighteen live albums, numerous videos, concert films and compilations and their albums had
sold an estimated 250 million. Much has been written about Mick Jagger s stage moves and the
spell those moves have cast over audiences. Perhaps writer Philip Norman summed it up best in
1984 when he compared Jagger to Elvis, Presley, while he made girls scream, did not have
Jagger s ability to make men feel uncomfortable (The Lasting Influence of the Rolling Stones).
The acceptance of Jagger s voice on pop radio was a turning point in rock roll. He broke open the

Atticus s Honesty
In this journal, I will be evaluating the theme of walking in someone s shoes. An example of the
theme walking in someone s shoes is with Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch. To start, Atticus is
able to walk in Tom s shoes because they are both honest. One example of honesty would be when
Atticus told his kids he could not win this court trial because of racism, but he would still try.
Atticus being able to be honest with his kids is important because it shows that he is an honest
person. An example of Tom Robinson being honest could be when he was defending himself at the
court trial. Tom did not lie at his court trial; that has great importance because it shows that he is an

An example of Atticus being selfless is when he decided to help Tom Robinson. Atticus knew
that he would be separating himself socially and mentally, but he still decided to help Tom
because he is a selfless person. Tom is also selfless for many reasons; one reason is that he chose
to help Mayella Ewell. Tom Robinson knew that there were many consequences for a black man
just being around a white woman, but he decided to help her anyways with no pay because he is
selfless. Tom does not care if he gets in trouble or not; he helps her because he knows it is the
right thing to do. With Atticus and Tom both being selfless, their actions can allow each other to
walk in each other s shoes. Similar to Tom and Atticus walking in each other s shoes; Calpurnia
and Walter Cunningham are also accurate examples of the theme walking in someone s shoes .
To illustrate my point, Calpurnia and Walter are both different because of their family s
incomes. Both Calpurnia and the Cunningham family have a lower income compared to most
others in the city of Maycomb. An example of Walter s family having less money could be when
the father has to pay back the Finch family in lumber because they do not have the money to pay
them. The father paying in lumber displays that the Cunningham family has less money; that
could separate Walter emotionally from the rest of his classmates. Walter could feel like he is
not as good as his classmates because of his family s lower income. He could also be separated
socially from his classmates, if his classmates left him out from their games because nobody
would want to play with the poor kid. Similarly, Calpurnia is a maid for the Finch family, so she
makes less money than the average family in Maycomb. Calpurnia is making less money because
she is a maid, and that allows her to walk in Walter s shoes because both of their families make
less money than average. Next, Calpurnia and Walter are able to walk in

If a person gains personal enhancement through prominence as an expert in a public controversy,
such prominence may transfer him into a limited purpose public figure. In Gilbert, a well known

The court held that the president had injected himself into the controversy, and he was a limited

the controversy was not discussed publicly, the president s public figure status did not end
spontaneously with the stopping of the publicity. Rather, the public figure status continued as long
as the particular controversy continued.
A company s publication on a public forum with the purpose of influencing a controversy may be
voluntary injection. In Ampex, a former employee posted negative comments about a company on
an Internet message board, accusing his former employer of incompetence and the company s
management of being defective. The company issued press releases in response to the defamation,
and made them available on the company Web site. The court found the company had voluntarily
injected itself into the public controversy, because the Web site was a public forum that the
company frequently made public announcements on it for people to view. Publishing the issued
press releases on a public forum to influence the public opinion and counter the negative comments,
such actions was sufficient to prove the injection, because these actions had inserted the company
into the public s eye about the controversy.

Many developing countries, including Indonesia, have subsidized fossil fuels for decades. This
program was started to help the poor, keeping their cost of living low cost of living for the poor
(The Economist 2014). However, because the people of Indonesia have enjoyed low prices for
fossil fuel for more than 40 years, people are resistant to the idea of raising the fuel prices.
Gus Dur s cabinet decided to raise fossil fuel prices by more than 9 percent in October 2000, and
it resulted in large scale public protests (Beaton Lontoh 2010). It was a risky attempt, because the
people of Indonesia had just passed through a devastating political transition period from the
Soeharto era, as well as dealing with the adverse effects of the Asian monetary crisis during 1997
98. During this period street riots became a medium for the people to express their disagreement
toward certain policies. People were frustrated, and interest groups took advantage of this
phenomenon for their own political interests.

Utopia By Thomas More s Utopia
In Thomas More s Utopia, the character Thomas More writes a letter to Peter Giles of this island
nation Raphael told him about called Utopia. At this point Thomas more is in Denmark (?) making
negotiations when he meets Raphael who introduces him to the thought and place of Utopia. More
heard that it is a wonderful place ruled entirely by logic, but in the end he tells Peter Giles that he
does not know how well that would actually work. In Utopia, everything is perfect because the
Utopians use logic or emotion. Utopia is run by logic. The Utopians get a lot done in a small
amount of time because everything is done through logic, there are no feelings involved
whatsoever. Englandis the exact opposite of Utopia. In England, there are a lot of social issues
because everything is run by feeling. While the English do use logic in some of their choices, a
lot of their choices are often made by what feels right at the time. Utopia, as More describes it,
would not be possible in his time because of Utopia lives by logic especially in the religious,
judicial, and political systems while England runs by first feeling, then tradition, then law, and
then logic. In Utopia, the religious system is very open to everybody. Because Utopia is run by
logic and everybody just kind of minds their own business, people can believe what they wantto
believe. A Utopian can believe in anything from Catholicism all the way to Scientology. In England,
this is much more difficult. There is no

The Giver, it stated, He found that he was often angry, now: irrationally angry with his groupmates,
that they were satisfied with their lives which had none of the vibrance his own was taking on. This

The Background And Nature Of The Movement For National...
Garibaldi went to the USA, Austria backed out of the war therefore handing Lombardy to
Sardinia. Treaty of Zurich ends northern Italy tension. Tuscany, Modena, and Parma seek
annexation by Sardinia. Italy was scattered during the 1850s but came together in the 1860s and
70s to really become a world power. Piedmont became the unlikely unifying power of Italy. Victor
Emmanuel II was the driving force. Sardinia fought against Russia in the Crimean war and won.
Sardinia was overall different because while being small they managed to get a lot done to further
the unification of Italy.
Explain the background and nature of the movement for national unification in Italy. What role had
Mazzini played? What had happened in 1848 to the unification movement?
After the fall of Napoleon, Italy was controlled mostly by Austria and the Habsburgs. The
movement for national unification in Italy started with revolts and demanding change to the kings.
Nationalists were influenced by other people in other countries that had successfully revolted, for
example like in Spain in 1820. The Kingdom of Two Sicilies was conquered and convinced the king
to establish a new constitution. Mazzini helped with Italian unification by creating a secret society
called Young Italy. The goal of Mazzini s new group was to promote nationalism and convince
people why there should be a unified Italy. In 1848, revolutions all over Italy occurred because
nationalists did not want Austria to have control over them.

The Confocal Microscopy And Microscopy
Abstract:
First; a brief introduction about the confocal microscopy, critical aspects of confocal Microscopy,
and the basic parts of the confocal microscope. It will follow by more information about
fluorescence microscopy which is used for study fixed and living cells because of its versatility,
specificity, and high sensitivity.
Introduction:
The Confocal Microscope is a type of microscope that is being developed for obtaining high
resolution images and 3D reconstruction. The images from the confocal are far better then other
microscopes; however, not quite as good as fluorescent microscopes. The confocal shows the most
fine details as possible in 3D; the confocal microscopy offers several advantages over conventional
wide field optical microscopy, including the ability to control depth of field, elimination or
reduction of background information away from the focal plane (that leads to image degradation),
and the capacity to collect serial optical sections from thick specimens [1]. The most significant
value about the confocal microscope is the spatial filtering techniques that terminate the glare and
focus the substance into the view. As it has been stated, there has been a tremendous explosion in
the popularity of confocal microscopy in recent years, due in part to the relative the ease with which
extremely high quality images can be obtained from specimens prepared for conventional
fluorescence microscopy, and the growing number of applications in cell biology that

Essay On Intestinal First Pass Metabolism
6. Conclusions:
Drug absorption and metabolism are very complicated processes that involve many physiological
and physicochemical factors. Adequate information about the processes determining the oral F of a
drug is essential for a successful drug development process. In the recent years, our knowledge
about the expression of drug metabolizing enzymes in the intestinal wall has expanded. In addition,
the availability of in vitro and in vivo data has clearly demonstrated the significant contribution of
intestinal metabolism in mediating the extent of first pass elimination and DDIs. PBPK models
provide an effective and reliable tool to evaluate the role of intestinal first pass metabolism in the
prediction of potential DDIs. The use and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, although in vivo studies of human intestinal drug metabolism could provide very
informative data, these studies are very difficult to conduct due to several technical and ethical
challenges. Thus, the availability of a reliable tool that can scale data from the in vitro setting to in
vivo in humans by integrating IVIV extrapolation (IVIVE) to the appropriate human in vivo system
using algorithms and physiologically relevant scaling factors might help overcome this drawback.
PBPK modeling offers the solution to bridge the gap between in vitro and in vivo systems. PBPK
modeling takes into consideration the interaction of drug related factors with physiological factors,
which enables the prediction of plasma and tissue concentration versus time profiles and explains
several mechanisms (such as first pass metabolism) in an in vivo system. The main advantages of
PBPK models over other models are: (1) they account for substrate concentrations at the enzyme
site, Michaelis Menten constants, and potential saturation of metabolism and (2) they accommodate
any potential regional differences in intestinal availability because of the heterogeneous expression
of drug metabolizing enzymes along the small intestine. Therefore, PBPK modeling has become a
cornerstone tool in the pharmaceutical industry because it has the ability to translate all relevant
generated data during

Darwinism And Survival In White Fang, By Jack London
White Fang, written by Jack London, is a wonderful adventure novel that vividly depicts the life of
a wolf by the name of White Fang. Throughout the course of the novel, White Fang goes through
numerous learning experiences as he interacts with humans and other wolves from Alaska around
the turn of the century. Jack Londonuses the events that transpire during White Fangs life to
illustrate that only the cunning, intelligent, and strong will be able to survive. The ideas of
Darwinism and survival are reinforced by almost every action that takes place in the novel. Man is
shown defeating nature through superior intelligence, a wolf cub conquers his puppy hood, and a
young wolf survives despite the hardships placed upon him by man.

He comprehends the eat or be eaten ; structure of animal society and knows that he must eat and
avoid being eaten to guarantee his survival.
This concept of survival is reinforced as White Fang has his first encounter with man. His first
instinct is to attack when he sees his half wolf half dog mother recaptured by Indians, and he acts
on this instinct. The rocks thrown by the Indians, however, remind him that he is a mere pup
fighting against gods. Because of his intelligence, White Fang knows when to submit in order to
keep his life. All of his actions are predicated on the need to live.
White Fang spends the majority of his early life in retreat, but this quickly changes. He soon
grows into a savage and voluminous beast as a direct result of his persecution and mistreatment
by human and dog alike. The concept of eat or be eaten has been so perfectly been ingrained into
his system, that he loses any speck of compassion or kindness that was ever in him and becomes a
terrible killing machine. Whenever he sees he has the advantage over another living thing, he
exploits it and drops the creature dead in its tracks.
White Fang s reign of terror, however, only lasts until he encounters a stronger and more
formidable foe. Weedon Scott, a mining expert during the gold rush, narrowly saves him from the
jaws of a pitbull and teaches him one final lesson. This is that

Reflection In My Life
Over the course of this semester me and our group success have participated in a variety of
activities coordinated by the Counselor Mrs. Warren which touch on topics oriented around
college, careers, and ourselves as people. These activities taught us life skills that we can apply
in our life. For example, some of the activities included learning to do or determine our SMART
goals, long term goals, skills/strengths, values and making decisions based on them, pathways to
our potential career/education. Therefore, what we learned as a group with Mrs. Warren was how
to apply those life skills taught in everyday life, How we would reach point A to point B, and learn
more about ourselves as people.
Throughout my life I have always felt like I knew myself, but until recently I have never, truly
known myself. These traits are one of my utmost important values to me in the sense that they are
what I do my best to live by them. My five main values are creativity, compassion, empathy, love,
and wisdom. I value creativity since through that I am able to express myself. Compassion is
important to me being that I cannot be a bystander and forsake the people suffering or the guilt
would eat me alive, knowing I could have done something to help. Most of my life I have
empathized with people, putting myself in their shoes and feeling their emotions, so that Is why
empathy is one of my core values in view of How are you going to understand someone if you

second round interviewers the authority to make hiring decisions and streamline the interviews to

Essay on Enlightened Despots
Enlightened Despots Enlightened despots believed that political change could best come from
above; from the ruler. However, they were encouraged by the philosophers to make good laws to
promote human happiness. How did these monarchs differ from earlier unenlightened monarchs of
the past? The difference lay in tempo. These new despots acted abruptly and desired quicker
results. They were impatient with all that stood in the way of their reforms. In addition, they
justified their authority on the grounds of usefulness, not divine right. These new monarchs were
rational and reformist and they regarded political change as possible and desirable. Frederick the

Catherine the Great was the German wife of Peter III. She corresponded actively with Voltaire
and other prominent eighteenth century thinkers, and paid lip service to their liberal ideas; but
she did little to reform or modernize Russia. She introduced such western ideas as pleased her, at
the same time increasing Russian autocracy and military power. In addition, she extended Russia
s boundaries southward and westward. Catherine joined with Austria and Prussia in three
partitions that completely eliminated independent Poland. On the death of Charles VI (1740),
the Habsburg dominions passed to his twenty three year old daughter Maria Theresa. The
German princes ignored the Pragmatic Sanction (1713) guaranteeing her succession, and looked
forward to partitioning the Habsburg s lands. Frederick the Great, who had just inherited the
Prussian throne, was first to strike. He invaded Silesia and won solid victories. Maria Theresa
soon demonstrated that she had a strong mind and will of her own. She went to Hungary s
Magyar nobles and appealed for support. In exchange for her promise of sovereignty within the
Habsburg Empire, the Magyars offered her loyalty and the troops necessary to resist the invaders.
With Hungarian troops and British and Dutch financial aide she was able to fight Prussia to a
standstill, but she did not regain Silesia. The Empress Maria Theresa believed in the need for

  • 2. The German People did “Nazi” Hitler Coming In 1932, Germany was in turmoil. Mass inflation had caused the prices of all commodities to rise, while the German people lived paycheck to paycheck. This type of socio economic climate is notorious for breeding radical political ideologies. Ever since Germany lost the Great War (now called World War I) in 1918, the Germans had been required to pay reparations to the countries they had fought. While the US and UK prospered during the 1920s, Germanysuffered. In order to pay off its debts, Germany raised taxes on the people and this caused businesses to increase their prices without raising employee salaries. The stock market crash of 1929 only made the situation worse for Germany, as the US and Britain stopped paying loans to Germany. All... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the German people had been more conscientious about electing a hatemonger, the Holocaust may have been prevented. Robert H. Jackson, an American prosecutor at the Nuremburg Trials, stated that of 9,600,000 Jews who lived in Nazi dominated Europe, sixty percent are authoritatively estimated to have perished. 5,700,000 Jews are missing from the countries in which they formerly lived, and over 4,500,000 cannot be accounted for by the normal death rate. (Goldensohn) Additionally, when Hitler was elected chancellor in 1932, Germany was a democracy with many of the same civil liberties enjoyed in America. Slowly over the next several years, those liberties were stripped from the people. The Nazi regime outlawed freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and dissent. They took control of all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, movies, and radio. (USHMM) While criticism of the Weimar Republicunder President Hindenburg was common, once Hitler came to power, people might be sent to a concentration camp for speaking out against Hitler. This shouldn t have surprised the people of Germany. Before Hitler was elected to office, he was a very vocal critic of freedom of speech and democracy. It is unfortunate that the German people were not more careful when it came to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Animal Assisted Therapy By Dr. Levinson Animal assisted therapy was created in 1792 to help patients in mental asylums to be able to interact with animals in peaceful environments and opportunities that otherwise they would not see. This was created by Dr. Levinson when he first saw a dog and boy that he had been treating interact with one another. This soon began to spread throughout the countries. It first arrived in the U.S. in 1944 through 1945 at a Hospital north of New York City, the hospital called Pawling army air force convalescent. The patients here interacted with farm animals such as horses and chickens. But with many things it took a long time before any data from places like this was collected. However it is becoming a more respected field among professionals ( Altschiller, D. 2011). It has been seen that pets can help calm people, lower blood pressure and they are great for people or children that cannot or do not relate well to other people. Pets may help patients recover from acute illness a study of patients following their discharge from the critical care unit found that 11 out of 39 patients without pets died within the subsequent year, compared with only three of 53 patients who had pets (Floyd, et al. 2003).There are many animals that can be used in pet therapybut we are going to mainly focus on dogs and horses. • 4. Difference Between Romeo And Juliet And Pyramus And Thisbe Some of the greatest writers of all time actually found the start of their best ideas and works from other artists. William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, for example, used the same archetype that the Greek writer Ovid used in his short story, Pyramus and Thisbe. In each story, two star crossed lovers meet against the will of their parents, which soon leads to the pair s demise. However, more than just the archetypical plot is shared between these two masterpieces. The tragedies of Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbeboth have their own representations of lack of communication, misinterpretation, and impassable obstacles for crucial information. Firstly, the lack of communication was a huge factor in the deaths of both story s protagonists. In Romeo and Juliet, Balthasar getting to Romeo before Friar Lawrence s letter, explaining Juliet s death , was a crucial part of the story. This was shown as Balthasar stated to Romeo, I saw her laid low in her kindred s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Pyramus and Thisbe, Pyramus found Thisbe s veil, bloody and torn, and misinterpreted that Thisbe was dead, As he approached the stream, his fears were confirmed upon seeing Thisbe s veil torn and bloodstained. Unable to find Thisbe and fearing that she was dead, Pyramus was unable to contain his sorrow. This led to Pyramus stabbing himself soon after. In Romeo and Juliet, the misinterpretation took place in the Capulet tomb, where Juliet was placed after she drank the contents of the Friar s vial. After Romeo heard the false news of her death from Balthasar in Mantua, he found her sleeping in the tomb and assumed she was dead, O my love, my wife! / Death, hath sucked the honey of thy breath... (5.3.100 101). In both stories, one assumed the other was dead because of their lack of knowledge, which lead to their desperate choices and catastrophic ends. • 5. MusГ©e des Beaux Arts by W. H. Auden Essay Suffering is embedded in our daily lives. There are devastating things going on in our daily environments and yet, people seldom realize this as they occupy themselves with other tasks. W.H. Auden s, MusГ©e des Beaux Arts, is a statement on human perceptions and how we use them to observe, or block out humansuffering. While we are doing ordinary things like eating, or opening a window, bad things can be happening to others and it is as easy as looking up, to see what is actually going on. Auden illustrates societies indifference to human suffering through the form of his poem and by alluding to artwork that compares human perceptions and juxtaposes ordinary images with images of suffering and tragedy. The form of MusГ©e des Beaux Arts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The lines are enjambed with phrases stopping in the middle of new lines and lines spilling into other lines. The lines do not pause to acknowledge the end of sentences like people seldom pause their daily lives to acknowledge the suffering of those around them. Auden also uses bad syntax in the last line of the poem, had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on. Auden may have chosen to write in this free form to demonstrate that people are so indifferent to what is going on around them that it does not make any difference what form the poem is written in, as it will only be overlooked and not given any attention. The form of the poem allows the reader to consider the ways in which suffering is masked by the frenzy of everyday life and that even the acknowledged suffering of others does not seem to be of any concern to anybody but the sufferer. Auden s poem is a criticism of human perceptions and how we use them to detect, or suppress human suffering. In the first half of the poem Auden compares versions of indifference by portraying youth and age, animals, and humans (Shmoop, 2014). In the first few lines of the poem, Auden comments on the perceptions of the Old Masters and how they were never wrong in their discernment of suffering. He then compares the old masters perceptions to the perceptions of children and animals and how they are unaware of, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, oxytocin specifically activates a female s emotions of affection, trust, and security towards others (Brain on Love, 14). Vasopressin is quite like oxytocin in that it also triggers pair bonding. Especially in animals, vasopressin allows pair bonding to occur when two animals develop a strong attachment to each other, which then leads to mating and breeding. (Brain on Love, 14). Dopamine plays several roles in the human body, not just in the brain and is crucial when falling in love. Specifically, in the brain, dopamine plays a significant role in attraction. Since 2000, a new audience category appeared on the Bollywood vocabulary which is called multiplexes. This group of audience became the niche audience for Hindi filmmakers featured by smaller budget and appeal for elite urban lifestyles and preference to westernized and various themed movies other than traditional dancing and singing. We pertain to the ideas of acceptance and understanding of individuals that have the intention to become apart of team Australia. But what do we know Australia as? A community of equal citizens Abbott declares (The Conversation, 2014). We can all assume that we as individuals idealise a country of equity and equality in all aspects of life, whether it be race, gender, beliefs or political views. In a world where we want fairness and equality, we coin the concept of social and cultural cohesion, which can be defined as the ties that hold people together (Humanrights.gov.au, 2017). Moreover, social cohesion is regarded as a shared vision, and is a process rather than an outcome (Scanlonfoundation.org.au, 2017). Jenson hypothesised a framework that identifies the importances of social cohesion between individuals. He states that the disruption of social cohesion effects dimensions of belonging, legitimacy, recognition, participation and inclusion (Study.com, 2017). In contrast to this we come across an unwanted prejudice and discrimination towards certain aspects of life. We define this as cultural conflict, the conflict that occurs when different cultural values and beliefs clash with opposing values and beliefs (LeBaron, 2003). In regards to Jenson s framework of social cohesion, cultural conflict revolves around the five dimension. With disruption to this, views are altered into a more negative outlook, ... Globally, marine ecosystems, in particular, coral reefs, are experiencing increasing pressure due to the growth in recreational scuba diving, and snorkeling. Pressure refers to the frequency, and quantity of divers, and dive boats on any particular reef. This pressure often results in damage to the reef, and is caused by divers, snorkelers, and even dive boat anchors, and anchor lines, furthermore, this damage takes significant time to repair, due to the rate at which coral grows, and repairs itself. Although this damage is not irreparable, continual pressure by recreational dive and snorkeling industries, can lead to damage beyond the reef s ability to recover. Damaged reefs result in loss of sea life, vibrancy, and color, the primary draw for divers, snorkelers, and other marine enthusiasts. Consequently, this damage extends to the economies of the local communities, in which water related activities are a primary source of revenue. To sustain these local communities economies, and tourist enjoyment, private SCUBA organizations can coordinate, and facilitate options to reduce the recreational damage of the ocean s reef system through education, artificial reef attractions, and alternative dive programs. Because we received fewer moles of O than Mg in the calculated empirical formula, and because the percent error is negative, we know that we either lost some material during the experiment, did not burn all of the magnesium, and/or had other, lighter elements bond with the Mg. We did lose some material on the spatula after mashing it. This reduced the overall mass of the material causing the calculated moles of O to be less than the original amount of Mg. Another possibility is that not all of the magnesium had reacted with oxygen. This would have resulted in fewer amounts of O for every Mg. The history of the black family is difficult to research according to Barnetta McGhee White because there are few written documents to substantiate the oral history (Staples, 1991 p.50). In terms of the prevailing meta narrative, familial ties must be documented by family trees. Black families, due to the breakdown of the family through the slave trade, rely on oral history to tell the story of their lineage (Staples, 1991, p 51). The genealogy of author Barnetta McGhee White helps illustrate certain points. The first is that since a majority of the research into genealogy is dependent on written documents dating into the founding years of this nation, these documents are only telling what the writer wants the reader to know. The history of black families is told through the story of the slaveholder and, thus, gives information relevant to the business of slavery everything that measurable. Another point is that those in power in the past control the future. If current society is viewed in chronicled terms, there is little control blacks can have over the account of their family history because it will always be in terms of the dominant meta narrative based on modernity. The conclusion to be made by the former points is that modern thought is to blame for stereotypes against blacks. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Food Preservatives Advantages Food Preservatives: What the Health At forty seven years old finding out she had cancer was terrifying, especially when chemotherapy was making Suzanne feel even worse. After feeling very tired, weak, and not being able to eat much, she decided she did not want to go through chemo therapy anymore and tried a diet that a friend had told her about. This diet consisted of cutting out red meat, eggs, bread, cereal, and reducing dairy intake to one serving per week. This meant that on a daily basis, she ate broccoli, celery, kale, carrots, herbs and spices, including ginseng and mint; the diet consisted of all organic foods only. After stopping chemo therapy and choosing healthier fooditems, she went to the doctor three months later. Nervously sitting in the doctor s office, she soon received the best news. Three of the tumors had disappeared and the fourth, which was the biggest, had shrunk and was able to be removed by surgery. This may have been her body fighting off the tumors by themselves, but she believes that her tumors shrunk from eating an all organic diet (Suzanne). Perhaps writer Philip Norman summed it up best in 1984 when he compared Jagger to Elvis, Presley, while he made girls scream, did not have Jagger s ability to make men feel uncomfortable (The Lasting Influence of the Rolling Stones). To start, Atticus is able to walk in Tom s shoes because they are both honest. One example of honesty would be when Atticus told his kids he could not win this court trial because of racism, but he would still try. Atticus being able to be honest with his kids is important because it shows that he is an honest person. Tom Robinson knew that there were many consequences for a black man just being around a white woman, but he decided to help her anyways with no pay because he is selfless. Tom does not care if he gets in trouble or not; he helps her because he knows it is the right thing to do. With Atticus and Tom both being selfless, their actions can allow each other to walk in each other s shoes. Similar to Tom and Atticus walking in each other s shoes; Calpurnia and Walter Cunningham are also accurate examples of the theme walking in someone s shoes . To illustrate my point, Calpurnia and Walter are both different because of their family s incomes. Both Calpurnia and the Cunningham family have a lower income compared to most others in the city of Maycomb. An example of Walter s family having less money could be when the father has to pay back the Finch family in lumber because they do not have the money to pay them. The father paying in lumber displays that the Cunningham family has less money; that could separate Walter emotionally from the rest of his classmates. Walter could feel like he is not as good as his classmates because of his family s lower income. He could also be separated socially from his classmates, if his classmates left him out from their games because nobody would want to play with the poor kid. Similarly, Calpurnia is a maid for the Finch family, so she makes less money than the average family in Maycomb. However, to this point, these attempts have failed at the implementation stage. This essay will examine challenges of fossil fuel subsidy reform first by outlining the trials of fossil fuel reform efforts in Indonesia, including political and economic factors underpinning problems. It will then discuss the key challenges implementationof these policies entails. Many developing countries, including Indonesia, have subsidized fossil fuels for decades. This program was started to help the poor, keeping their cost of living low cost of living for the poor (The Economist 2014). However, because the people of Indonesia have enjoyed low prices for fossil fuel for more than 40 years, people are resistant to the idea of raising the fuel prices. Gus Dur s cabinet decided to raise fossil fuel prices by more than 9 percent in October 2000, and it resulted in large scale public protests (Beaton Lontoh 2010). It was a risky attempt, because the people of Indonesia had just passed through a devastating political transition period from the Soeharto era, as well as dealing with the adverse effects of the Asian monetary crisis during 1997 98. At this point Thomas more is in Denmark (?) making negotiations when he meets Raphael who introduces him to the thought and place of Utopia. More heard that it is a wonderful place ruled entirely by logic, but in the end he tells Peter Giles that he does not know how well that would actually work. In Utopia, everything is perfect because the Utopians use logic or emotion. Utopia is run by logic. The Utopians get a lot done in a small amount of time because everything is done through logic, there are no feelings involved whatsoever. Englandis the exact opposite of Utopia. In England, there are a lot of social issues because everything is run by feeling. While the English do use logic in some of their choices, a lot of their choices are often made by what feels right at the time. Utopia, as More describes it, would not be possible in his time because of Utopia lives by logic especially in the religious, judicial, and political systems while England runs by first feeling, then tradition, then law, and then logic. In Utopia, the religious system is very open to everybody. Because Utopia is run by logic and everybody just kind of minds their own business, people can believe what they wantto believe. Victor Emmanuel II was the driving force. Sardinia fought against Russia in the Crimean war and won. Sardinia was overall different because while being small they managed to get a lot done to further the unification of Italy. Explain the background and nature of the movement for national unification in Italy. What role had Mazzini played? What had happened in 1848 to the unification movement? After the fall of Napoleon, Italy was controlled mostly by Austria and the Habsburgs. The movement for national unification in Italy started with revolts and demanding change to the kings. Nationalists were influenced by other people in other countries that had successfully revolted, for example like in Spain in 1820. The Kingdom of Two Sicilies was conquered and convinced the king to establish a new constitution. Mazzini helped with Italian unification by creating a secret society called Young Italy. The Confocal Microscopy And Microscopy Abstract: First; a brief introduction about the confocal microscopy, critical aspects of confocal Microscopy, and the basic parts of the confocal microscope. It will follow by more information about fluorescence microscopy which is used for study fixed and living cells because of its versatility, specificity, and high sensitivity. Introduction: The Confocal Microscope is a type of microscope that is being developed for obtaining high resolution images and 3D reconstruction. The images from the confocal are far better then other microscopes; however, not quite as good as fluorescent microscopes. The confocal shows the most fine details as possible in 3D; the confocal microscopy offers several advantages over conventional wide field optical microscopy, including the ability to control depth of field, elimination or reduction of background information away from the focal plane (that leads to image degradation), and the capacity to collect serial optical sections from thick specimens [1]. The most significant value about the confocal microscope is the spatial filtering techniques that terminate the glare and focus the substance into the view. As it has been stated, there has been a tremendous explosion in the popularity of confocal microscopy in recent years, due in part to the relative the ease with which extremely high quality images can be obtained from specimens prepared for conventional fluorescence microscopy, and the growing number of applications in cell biology that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, although in vivo studies of human intestinal drug metabolism could provide very informative data, these studies are very difficult to conduct due to several technical and ethical challenges. Thus, the availability of a reliable tool that can scale data from the in vitro setting to in vivo in humans by integrating IVIV extrapolation (IVIVE) to the appropriate human in vivo system using algorithms and physiologically relevant scaling factors might help overcome this drawback. PBPK modeling offers the solution to bridge the gap between in vitro and in vivo systems. PBPK modeling takes into consideration the interaction of drug related factors with physiological factors, which enables the prediction of plasma and tissue concentration versus time profiles and explains several mechanisms (such as first pass metabolism) in an in vivo system. The main advantages of PBPK models over other models are: (1) they account for substrate concentrations at the enzyme site, Michaelis Menten constants, and potential saturation of metabolism and (2) they accommodate any potential regional differences in intestinal availability because of the heterogeneous expression of drug metabolizing enzymes along the small intestine. Therefore, PBPK modeling has become a cornerstone tool in the pharmaceutical industry because it has the ability to translate all relevant generated data during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
