Characteristics Of Chinese Immigrants In America
Before World War II, the Chinese immigrants to the U.S had many characteristics. First, the Chinese
immigrants mainly came from mainland China, such as the Guangdong province. The Chinese
immigrants mainly came from the Guangdong province of China because of the location of
Guangdong province. The Guangdong province was close to coastal areas where Guangong people
could take the boasts and migrate to America. Also, Guangdong people was far away from the Chinese
government s control. Therefore, Chinese immigrants could easily migrated from the Guangdong
province of China to America. Second, most of the Chinese immigrants were poor and came from
rural areas in China. They migrated to America because they suffered from poor harvests and ... Show

Also, they were undesirable workers in America. Therefore, one of the characteristics of the Chinese
immigrants was that they were mainly male.
Besides the Page Law, the Chinese exclusion act of 1882 affected the characteristics of Chinese
immigrants the most. In 1882, Chinese people were excluded because they became a threat to
American society. Under the Chinese exclusion act, the number of Chinese was decreased and the
bachelor society was formed. The bachelor society was a reaction to the Chinese exclusion act and a
shelter for Chinese people to live in. A great example of bachelor society is Chinatown. Because of the
influence of the Chinese exclusion act of 1882, Chinese immigrants concentrated in Chinatown and
had special characteristics. In Chinatown, the first characteristic of the Chinese immigrants were
mostly men because Chinese women were excluded. Besides, most Chinese immigrants formed split
households in Chinatown because the Chinese exclusion act prohibited the Chinese family unification
and the interracial marriage between White and Chinese.
Second, the Chinese exclusion act of 1882 caused many illegal Chinese immigrants in America. The
illegal Chinese immigrants were assisted by the CCBA or the six company and entered America
illegally. According to article, the six company, as a transnational Chinese, directed and managed the
illicit smuggling business. For instance, the Chinese immigrants arrived in

Endotracheal tube, mechanical ventilator, central venous catheter, invasive pressure monitors, ECG

and peripheral intravenous line. These are just an example of cables and tubes that can be attached to a
single patient who is treated in an intensive care unit (ICU) and most of them trigger an alarm if a
patient moves like a normal human being. Needless to say, it is evident for nurses that these patients
suffer from these wires and tubes, unfamiliar environment surrounded by the constant multiple
mechanical noises, and interruption of rest caused by nursing cares, treatments, diagnostic tests, and
procedures although all of them are meant to be life saving.
To support these patients in their ICU stay, we nurses take care all aspect of their needs by maintaining

Endophthalmitis Vitrectomy Studies
Postoperative endopthalmitis is one of the most devastating complications of cataract surgery. Despite
of the great progress in the lines of treatment of this serious condition, the visual results are still poor
and about 40% of cases sustain severe visual loss (corrected distance visual acuity of less than
20/200).[1] The incidence of endophthalmitis after cataract surgery varies according to the surgical
technique, it has ranged from 0.04% to 0.13%.[2 3] This complication can end by evisceration as a last
stage in management.[4]

Rolling in the Street
Rolling in the Street In May 2013, Major Bloomberg launched a new bicycle program to have an
additional mode of transportation for the citizens and visitors of New York City. The Department of
Transportation chose to have a Public Private Partnership with Alta Bicycle Share over a fully public
operated system in order to have an effective and faster delivery of the project. In addition, Citibank
paid $41 million and Master Card $6 million to be the title sponsors for the bike share program.
Although supporters of the bike sharing program are hopeful Citi Bike will reduce congestion and
boost public health by active transportation, in a big city like New York, only a selected part of the
population will be enjoying the benefits. This paper aims at addressing how public private
partnerships effectively increase the level of production and efficiency, but negatively affect other
important sectors of the economy. Presently, the key stakeholders are the government, the suppliers of
the bikes, the employees, the costumers and the community. Each of these groups contributes in some
way and has their own opinions, views and suggestions for the project. These stakeholders are crucial
for Citi Bike and therefore their interests must be recognized in order to facilitate the development of
the project. The Department of Transportation s (DOT) main interest is to provide safe, efficient and
sustainable transportation methods for New Yorkers (DOT

My Writing As An Inquiry
I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and other skills during my semester in Writing as an
inquiry . Not only were my writing skills improved, my understanding of rhetoric increased as well.
This was done through teacher instruction, class participation, and assignments. Up to this point, I
completed four projects in the semester. Each project being very different and improving my writing,
rhetoric, communication skills, and testing my creativity. The first project that was assigned in the
class was a Learning Narrative. The goal of this assignment was to write about a profound learning
moment that occurred in my life. Another goal of this assignment was to expand my knowledge on

A lightbulb clicked and I decided to use Lifetime gym as my culture and a dumbbell as my artifact.
The next step of this project was to compare my culture and artifact with another culture. The biggest
obstacle I faced was having to be creative and think about how other people and cultures may view the
dumbbell. It was difficult to pick just one certain group and try to hypothesis how they may view the
dumbbell. I chose to think of how people of low income and countries in poverty may view the
dumbbell. I hypothesized they most likely do not have access to the dumbbell. Therefore, not knowing
what it is, or having to use other heavy objects as a substitute for a dumbbell. This project was very
interesting and eye opening. An object like a dumbbell, which I have very easy access to, is not easily
accessible for everyone.
Without this project, I would not have thought of a broader culture. It makes me grateful to be able to
have such easy access to a dumbbell, which others in countries in poverty may not have the luxury of.
I reached the goals of this assignment. I was able to think of a specific artifact and describe it in
specific detail. I then thought of a few broader cultures and was able to compare a specific culture to
mine.
Project three was the remix project. The goals of this project were to be able to take writing and turn it
into a visual. In a group with two other people, we would use the phrase A

British Secret Intelligence MI6 Essays
British Secret Intelligence:
MI6
Introduction Hello Mr. Bond. The character, James Bond, usually comes to mind when one thinks of
the British agency MI6. An agency that enables its agents to have a license to kill, enabling them to do
anything, at any cost to achieve the greater good, with the head of the agency M sitting behind a desk
giving orders. This sounds like an agency that anyone would love to work for. In reality, it is an
agency that has been through several wars and has evolved over the years with lies, secrets, and
betrayal (Corera, 2011).
At one point the British Secret Intelligence, often known as MI6, was very similar to the fictional
James Bond character. The agents in the beginning did not necessarily have a ... Show more content

History
The British Secret Intelligence Service is one of the oldest surviving foreign intelligence gathering
organizations in the spy world. MI6 was founded in October 1909, originally as the Foreign Section of
the new Secret Service Bureau. The man behind the curtain that established the organization was
Commander Mansfield Cumming (Thomas, 2009). In the beginning, the agency was surrounded with
so much secrecy that it was difficult to get the agency off of the ground to meet its desired potential.
However, by the end of 1909, Cummings was able to successfully create an organization devoted to
the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence (Jeffery, 2010). As much as the agency was
Cummings brainchild, the wheels starting to spin early in 1909 when a sub committee was put
together to outline a plan to get Great Britain back into the intelligence collection business. The sub
committee initially wanted a secret service bureau that would be in close contact with the War Office,
Admiralty, and the Home Office (Corera, 2012). It would need to have three guidelines in place to
follow: 1) serve as a middle between the Admiralty and the War Office for foreign spies who want to
sell information to the government, 2) branch out to various parts of Great Britain to keep in touch
with local constables to ascertain the nature and degree of espionage that is

Artificial Heart Research Paper
Over the past 50 years there has been many great inventions especially in the healthcare field. I feel
the most important is the Artificial Heart that was invented in 1982. In the United States heart disease
is the number one cause of death. The artificial heart is a prosthetic device that is implanted into the
chest cavity to replace the heart. The device is bigger and heavier than the adult human heart.
Artificial hearts help patients regain their health and get ready for a transplant. The artificial heart can
be a temporary structure that is places till that patient receives a heart transplant. That time also allows
to regain their health before their transplant. In the United States there is a shortage of donor hearts.

Authoritarian Regimes And Totalitarian Regimes
In 20th century the global community witnessed a tremendous amount of chaos. World Wars, and
ideologically driven proxy wars brought destruction, and decline to many great countries. One would
think that many people have died in these wars, but it is shocking to note that four times as many
people have died at the hands of their government than in these wars. Institutions like the government
are created to represent the people, to serve, and benefit their welfare. A type of government that does
not follow this norm are often oppressive authoritarian regimes. These regimes can range from a one
party rule where a political party or group governs, to a one man rule. Whichever it may be,
authoritarian regimes tend to use similar tactics that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the early 20th century, Guatemala s future looked promising. The country had undergone social
democratic reform, making it a developing democratic nation. The first two democratically held
elections were won by nationalistic and reformist presidents. Progress and change is what the
Guatemalans wanted as they sought to rid themselves of the poverty that plagued their country. Jacobo
Arbenz succeeded Juan Jose Arevalo in 1950, and Arbenz would continue Arevalo s socialist policies.
These policies included land reforms that redistributed land to the indigenous population. The land
that was redistributed was previously expropriated from foreign companies, mainly the United States
industries such as the United Fruit Company. Under these foreign companies, the indigenous workers
endured intolerable treatment. Exposure to chemicals and malnutrition lead to the deaths of many
workers. With the motive to protect their interests, the U.S. s Center for Intelligence Agency
sponsored an intervention in Arbenz s presidency. A largely committed anti communist coup d etat
successfully overthrew the socialist government, which favored the U.S. s interests.
With the democratic government overthrown, the political instability lead to the raise of military rule
in Guatemala. There would be many military officers that would assume the role of the presidency.
Under the military rule, there were very unfavorable conditions for those that had

In a time of ruthless dictators, Jomo Kenyatta was one of the most influential and controversial leaders

British Military began. In response, the British declared a state of emergency and banned the KAU.
Jomo Kenyatta was arrested in October of the following year with charges of leading and being a

Mother Teresa Acceptance Speech
Let us all thank God for this meeting ( Transcript of Mother Teresa´s Acceptance Speech ). I am
Mother Teresa, the founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity and Patron Saint for Doubters
(Eisenstadt Evans, Mother Teresa s canonization: She is the Patron saint for doubters ). I was born in
Skopje, (the capital of the Republic of Macedonia) Albania in 1910. I m a Roman Catholic and from
the age of 18 began to study to become a nun in Ireland (Gray, 60). In September of 1946, I received a
calling from God saying I had to leave the convent and, help the poor by living among them, (Gray,
60). This led me to Calcutta, India where I founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity to restore
dignity in the souls of the underprivileged, degraded, and ill ( Biography Mother Teresa ). I ve been
criticized for my methods of maintaining my centers but have also been awarded the highest honor,
the Nobel Peace Prize, in 1979 (Eisenstadt Evans, Mother Teresa s canonization: She is the Patron
saint for doubters ). My life being surrounded by such violence has brought me here with you all
today. My devotion to helping the helpless and forgiving the unforgivable leads me to believe that all
people are embodiments of Christ and deserve to be loved and seen as equals. With this, William
Golding is guilty of libel against the human race since all people are born pure and any malevolent
acts of violence are results of society s teachings.

Gladiatorial Contest in Rome
Gladiatorial Contest in Rome Rome was a warrior state. Since the state was a great fighting state in
their time, the wars sort of formed the gladiatorial contest in ancient Rome. The Romans were
fascinated and pleasured by violence, bloodshed, and human suffering the gladiatorial games. The
gladiatorial contests began at the reign of their first emperor Augustus to pay tribute to their warrior
traditions. The Romans built artificial battlefields within amphitheaters in cities and towns for public
entertainment. It is very obvious that gladiatorial contest were important because of the enormous size
of the amphitheaters. In A.D. 80, the Colosseum, which seated fifty thousand people, was used to

It was then when officers of the state started producing the gladiatorial shows on a regular basis as a

forbidden to spend more on themselves than their associates. However, the emperor s rules were often
broken by aristocrats due to the competitiveness of political power and prestige. Animals played a part
in the gladiatorial shows also. In A.D. 108 9, Emperor Trajan gave games lasting 123 days containing
9,138 gladiators fought eleven thousand animals. In 169 B.C., sixty three African lions and leopards,
forty bears, and several elephants were murdered in a single show. Romans then started to hunt new
animals such as tigers, crocodiles, giraffes, lynxes, rhinoceros, and ostriches. Some shows involved
hundreds of animals in one show. All of the animals were killed for entertainment. Gladiators were
heroes to their culture. Even though most of the gladiators were slaves, women were attracted to them.
But gladiators were also degraded by society. They were not allowed to be buried in normal burial
grounds. Women also fought in gladiatorial games also. The women fought in the arena were men

King Lear Adaptations
I think that the National Theater s King Lear was the more effective play. This is for two
reasons, because it was had more hidden details and had better acting. These two features made
the play easier to watch and more entertaining.
First off, the National Theater s play had more hidden details that gave the viewers subtle
clues as to the setting and characters, a great example of showing instead of telling which made
the play much more interesting. An example of this was the microphone for Cordelia and her
future husband was pointed to his side, even though Cordelia was there alone. This shows the lack
of respect that women were given, King Lear was symbolically giving away land to a non existent
husband over his blood borne daughter. This reveals how little he ... Show more content on

The National Theater s King Lear had other intricacies such as
King Lear hitting Reagan s rear shows that his love might be one of an inappropriate nature and
reveals some of his character traits.
Secondly, in the National Theater s adaptation of King Lear, I felt the actors and actresses
had better acting. King Lear was shown as being crazier and more short tempered which makes
his descent into madness later on more believable. It also shows that he is prone to overreacting
as he flips over tables when he feels unsatisfied, this leads the viewer to see why it made sense in
his mind to banish Cordelia. In Olivier s play, King Lear is shown as much more level headed which
makes it out of character for him to banish Cordelia and even hold the contest in the first place. As
well, in the National Theater s King Lear the sisters Goneril and Reagan were portrayed more
realistically. Goneril delivered her speech with a hint of nervousness, which would be likely given
her father s unpredictableness and how important this was. She had to hope that her

The Druids Essay
The Druids
The Celtic people have a long history. They have been portrayed in films and other such forms of
entertainment many times over. They are seen as a mystery to most. They are shrouded not only in
their hooded cloaks but also in mysticism. Since Christian times Druids have been depicted as
wizards, sorcerers, and soothsayers. In Pre Christian times, however, they were revered as
philosophers, judges, educators, historians, doctors, seers, astronomers, and astrologers. The word
druidae is Celtic in origin. It is said to be derived from the Greek word drus , meaning oak , and the
Sanskrit word, Vid , meaning knowledge. The Oak tree was a sacred tree to the Celts. In the Celtic

to search for what the druids looked like. Early depictions show them wearing a knee length tunic and
a hooded cloak. They were barefooted and carried a book, mistletoe and a staff. The chief sources
anyone has on the druids originated from Julius Caesar and the Romans. Much information comes
from archaeological remains and literature from early monks. Analogies can also be drawn from the
Hindu people. One such analogy would be the idea of reincarnation. The Hindu people believed that
the atman was merely reborn until it reached it final plateau. The druids believed that clouds were a
gathering of souls waiting to be reborn so that they could find the answer to get to the next evolution.
(crystalinks) Through archaeological studies scientists have found the remains of votive offerings on
lake bottoms and votive pits. This shows us a great deal about the Celtic religion. Archaeologists have
also found Celtic fortresses, habitations, temples, jewelry and tools. These finds show us what life was
like, what their technological capeability was, what food they ate, what crafts and trades they
practiced, what products they made and traded and where they travelled and how they got there. This

The Wizard Of Oz Literary Analysis
The Value of Literature:
The epic journey to find the promised land in The Wizard of Oz
Every character in The Wizard of Oz has a reason for going to Emerald city, each have the same
reason but are all in search of something different. Their reasoning for going to the promise land,
Emerald city, is to find the Great Wizard, Oz. Although they are all on a journey for Emerald city and
Oz, what they are in search of is very different as is each character. Through Archetypal Theory it is
shown that each character s reason for setting out on the journey to Emerald city distinguishes their
type of character. Their journey is to find the promised land. Although they are not aware, the
characters slowly gain what they originally set out to acquire throughout their journey, rather than at
their destination. Although the journey seems as easy as following the yellow brick road, there are
many obstacles the characters; the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion, must face
throughout this novel. Through stages along their journey, the characters are all thrown into pivotal
positions that they do not realize the importance of. In turn, this results in a drastic development of
their characteristics. In these stages they are put in situations, which allows them to grow and adapt to
what they are seeking on their journey, are what allows them to earn what they were seeking. Each
character is in search for Oz so he may grant them one wish for whatever they desire, for the
Scarecrow;

investigations. DNA testing is an advancement in technology, and using it to the best of its abilities
can proficiently do justice in the U.S. Not only can DNA testing take criminals off the streets, but it
can also help gives evidence and vital information on individuals linked to a specific incident.
Statistics have shown that before the creation of DNA testing in the late 1980 s, tens of thousands of
investigations were completed in which identified suspects were improperly accused. These statistics
clearly state how DNA testing is extremely important in today s society. Without it, who knows where
criminal investigations would be. Professor Amitai Etzioni from George Washington University wrote

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frequency Modulation
ANGLE MODULATION
Chapter Objectives
This chapter will help you to:
1. Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) and
state their differences.
2. Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum modulating frequency,
determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM
signal.
3. Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are accomplished.
4. Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM.
Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two types of angle modulation.
1. Frequency Modulation
2. Phase Modulation
Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction)
FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. In other words if the amplitude of the modulating
signal increases, then there will be a corresponding increase in the frequency of the modulated wave,
similarly if the amplitude of the modulating signal decreases, then there will be a corresponding ...

As can be seen in Figure 3.1 (a) the modulating signal increases from its negative peak value during
this quarter, and at time t3 it becomes zero. This sinusoidal increase in the amplitude of the
modulating signal is mapped on to the carrier signal by increasing its frequency. At time T3, the
amplitude of the modulating signal is zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier
frequency from its original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated
carrier increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. This is shown in Figure 3.l(c) by
inserting more cycles during quarter III as compared to the number of cycles that occurred during the
quarter

The Theme Of Growing Up In Larry Watson s Montana 1948
In Montana 1948 , Larry Watson uses the character David Hayden to illustrate the theme of growing
up. In the book, David described the summer of 1948 as events that yanked him from his innocence
and his ignorance. With my project I acted as David and wrote journal entries for three pivotal events
that slowly changed David and made him think differently. The first thing I brought up was the
beginning of seeing him grow up. This is when David started getting more sexually aware of Marie
and his Aunt Gloria. He started thinking of them as beautiful which scared him and made him feel
guilty for thinking that way. The second thing I showed is when David started recognizing the true
meaning of evil after realizing that his Uncle Frank, who he thought

The Concept Of Self Care
Concept analysis is a combination of seven steps that work together to clarify concepts in our nursing
practice (McEwen Wills, 2014). The term self care is a concept from Orem s self care deficit theory.
The purpose of this concept analysis is to clarify the concept and determine how it is used in the
nursing practice, particularly with rehabilitation patients. We will further explore this concept with
literature reviews, the possible uses of this concept, its attributes, model and alternative cases,
antecedents and consequences, and finally empirical referents. Aim of Analysis The aim of this
concept analysis is to clearly define the concept of self care in relation to rehabilitation patients. The
characteristics of self care will be further explored and explained, as well as its importance to nursing
practice. By understanding the concept better, nurses will be able to be more involved in the patient s
care and increase the rate of their recovery (Arman Hok, 2015). Literature Review According to
Hashemi et al. (2013), promoting self care with patients gives them more control over their lives
leading to an improved quality of life. The article emphasized the importance of empowering patients
to perform activities independently. Orem s self care model was used as a clinical guideline for the
self care programs they developed for the patients. There were three different care models they
focused on depending on the patient s needs and conditions. If the patient

African Social Political Thought
PHL 305: AFRICAN SOCIAL AND POLITICAL THOUGHT
QUESTION: TAKE ONE AFRICAN SOCIO POLITICAL PHILOSOPHER AND DISCUSS:
A. HIS POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY
B. THE PROBLEM HE TRIED TO SOLVE
C. THE EXTENT TO WHICH HE WAS SUCCESSFUL.
African socialism was one of the earliest theories proffered by many African leaders at the outset of
independence. Leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Obafemi Awolowo and Leopold
Senghor all supported this concept but had different approaches to it.
In this essay, my focus will be on Julius Nyerere and his approach to the idea of African socialism.

In the area of achieving self reliance by African states particularly Tanzania, Nyerere developed an
educational philosophy which could be approached under two main headings; Education for Self
reliance and Adult education. His interest in Self reliance shares a great deal with Gandhi s approach
to Basic Education . There was a strong concern to counteract the colonialists assumptions and
practices of the dominant, formal means of education, which he saw as enslaving and oriented towards
western interest and norms. It was designed to transmit the values of the colonizing power and to train
individuals for the service of the colonial state. It induced attitudes of subservience, human inequality
and individualism, and emphasized white collar skills. The context of colonial education was largely
alien and the entire system was organized by racial segregation. For Nyerere who was once a teacher
himself, he believed that education had to work for the common good, foster co operation and
promote equality. He asserted that the school curriculum should go hand in hand with de emphasizing
the import of formal examinations which merely assesses a person s ability to learn facts. He said it
was necessary for African states to abandon examinations that are geared towards

Examples Of Stereotypes In Romeo And Juliet
The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is a love story that is tragic from the start. From
the love between the two main characters, Romeo and Juliet, being forbidden, to their tragic deaths in
the end, Romeo and Juliet certainly defies many stereotypes. The areas of the play where these
stereotypes are broken/not met are where Romeo does not fit into the role of a man due to his being
extremely sensitive at the beginning of the play, the fact that Romeo does not initiate his marriage to
Juliet, and at the end, where Romeo kills himself because he believes that Juliet is no longer alive. In
Romeo and Juliet, the gender roles that are placed upon males are not met with the character Romeo.
At the beginning of the play, Romeo is upset about Rosaline, the girl who he likes, not liking him
back. His being upset is especially prominent when Romeo makes his first appearance in the play
towards the end of Act I, Scene I. In this scene, Lady Monatgue, Romeos mother, is voicing her
concern about her son being so depressed. His cousin, Benvolio sees him coming towards where the
rest of his family is standing, and says that he will talk to Romeo. Benvolio is able to get it out of his
cousin that he is upset because a girl does not like him back. Romeo talks about the darkness, which is
a symbol for sadness and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, suicides that happen following the death of a significant other are shown as the woman in
the relationship killing herself. Although in Romeo and Juliet, Juliet did end up killing herself, Romeo

himself to be the weaker one in his relationship. This is the part of the play where those who are
reading it or watching it be performed realize that Romeo does not fit into his gender stereotype of

Essay On Shuttle Services
Shuttle Services in the National Park System In 2016, 330,971,689 visited the fifty eight national
parks, containing over eighty million acres of public land, within the United States for outdoor
recreation. ( Frequently Asked Questions (U.S. National Park Service). With this large influx of
visitors, there are some major negative impacts to the delicate ecosystems in each park. After visiting
seven of our National Parks and seeing the mass amounts of people and traffic on public lands, I

National Parks. After investigating these impacts and finding the largest impact is caused by cars

According to a study done by the National Park Service, there is estimated to be well over ten
thousand vehicular wildlife collisions over a recent eighteen year time period. With a more
anthropogenic viewpoint, less open space for parking, congested trails, and the inability to leisurely
drive through many of the national park system s scenic routes due to traffic are just a few
inconveniences to the visitor s experience. There are many ways to combat these negative implications
of the increased outdoor tourism. A few proposed solutions to these impacts are to set a cap on
attendance at each park, implementation of more trash and recycling bins throughout the parks and
trails, and more education for visitors to the parks on land use ethics like leave no trace. Overall, the
most effective solution to combat these negative effects is a shuttle service throughout the park. .
Transit services (e.g., public bus service) are a component of the overall park transportation system
and are very desirable in park settings as they yield many advantages over personal auto access
including reduced congestion in parking areas, a reduced carbon footprint, and an enhanced visitor
experience. (Monz. et al.) Shuttle services decrease traffic throughout the park s roads, opening up
parking space and overall reducing congestion. In a study done by the Park and Recreation

Militant Islam Is The Exact Opposite Of What My Essay...
Militant Islam is the exact opposite of what my essay title states. Many Muslims will tell you firsthand
that the radical Islamist you see in the news do not practice true Islam. They go against almost every
moral code in the Qu ran and hadiths by falsely interpreting a few passages. So, how then did this new
religious cult form and shock the entire western world on a day known as 9/11. Groups like these have
been in existence since the early 1930s and the Middle Eastern world has been forced to face these
people head on in their daily lives . This is not a new trend in the world, groups like Nazi Germany
and Communist Russia, so why do these terrorist groups come as such a big shock? Studying radical
Islam is necessary so we can truly combat it in the social and political world. When people hear the
word Jihad (and they are not Muslim) it automatically sends a chill down their spine. This term has
come to mean in the news a religious war against anyone who is not a conservative Muslim . In the Qu
ran (the holy text) it means something very different. They believe that Jihad has a dual meaning, that
the person should strengthen their relationship with Allah and teach others about him . In terrorist
groups they call for the death of all those who stand in the way of Islam and see the Western world as
oppressors of their faith. This frame of mind comes from the push of Christianity into these countries
and the formation of Israel. Many of the terrorist groups we

Great Expectations Quote Analysis
In the first part of the novel Great Expectations, Charles Dickens retold the story of a young boy who
is an orphan and got adopted by the Black Smith s family. The young boy s name is Pip and it is seen
how he transforms from a young boy to a gentleman as he wants to become someone better or enter a
higher social class. Some advantages that could define what great expectations might mean to Pip is
being well educated and entering a higher social class.
Essentially, one of the first things that defines Pip s great expectations is being a well educated
individual. In this quote stated by Dickens, it is discussed that the more educated you are, the more

gentlemen to be worth the same as other people and wants to become a gentlemen to date Estella who

The Cultural And Socio Economic Context
Different cultural groups show distinctive rates and experiences of the disorder, reflecting their
different cultural and socio economic context. Gotlib Hammen, (2002) propose a noticeable and
explicit pattern that seems to continuously emerge is that depression appears to occur much more in
western cultures (US, Canada, UK, Holland) than in Asian (Japan, Taiwan, China) cultures. Such
differences in rates of depression have been attributed to a number of factors such as differences in the
amount of humiliation attached to depression (Asian cultures stigmatizing symptoms of depression
more than Western cultures) and to different levels of social support (with Asian cultures have a much
more sense of collectivist community and social support from family and peers in contrast to
individualistic western cultures). However these findings are also subject to scrutiny as with many
cross cultural research studies. Ethnocentrism is usually the criticism that emerges during these
studies; for example, the issue of diagnosing/classifying one with depression may differ country to
country. Behaviour deemed abnormal in one country may be deemed normal in another. In addition to
this, language barriers are likely to intervene, and researchers are likely to misinterpret subjects they
are studying if there is a culture clash. Such differences may therefore justify the variation in
prevalence of depression as oppose to being a true reflection of cultural differences. Aside from

Major Feminist Criminological Perspectives
With the pass of the time, females are more involve in society. The amount of women s that stay at
home and don t go out for work has been reducing. At the same time, we see that women s have been
involved with some criminal events. Because of this, five major feminist criminological perspectives
have been creating. During this essay, three of this perspective will be exposed and explain. First,
these three perspectives will be mention and contrast from each other. Finally, these three perspectives
will be comparing with each other. First, one of the major feminist criminological perspectives is

In other words, if a woman commits a crime should receive the same punishment that men receive
when he commits the same type of crime. At the same time, these liberal females challenged the
prevailing assumption that males and females have a different role in society. Another significant
feminist criminological perspective is Radical Feminism. This aspect deals with the way in which the
capitalist economic system fosters crime through the creation of a patriarchal and sexist society. This
perspective is that women have to stay at home as an unpaid housekeeping, and men have the right to
control women. In other words, women have to follow all the instructions and rules that her husband
establishes at the house. By this perspective, women s can exercise control over their bodies and the
restructuring family relationship in order to eliminate male domination. However, radical feminist
does not believe that women s liberation will increase female crime rates. Another important feminist
criminological perspective is Socialist Feminism. This view identifies the oppression of women as a
symptom of the patriarchal capitalist system. This aspect considered

The Cash Rate Is The Overnight Money Market Interest Rate...
The cash rate is the overnight money market interest rate implemented by the Reserve Bank of
Australia. The Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia meet monthly to determine the cash rate for the
following month, taking into account various economic conditions, both globally and domestically.
Since August 2013, the cash rate in Australia has been at a record low, of 2.5 per cent (Reserve Bank
of Australia, 2013). The three factors which will be considered in determining the cash rate for
October 2014 are; the housing market boom , the falling value of the Australian dollar and iron ore
prices trading at an all time low. Based on these three factors, on the 4th of October, the cash rate
should be kept at the current rate of 2.5 per cent.
With the latest inflation result showing inflation to be around the mid band target of the 2 3% target,
no immediate cash rate decisions need to be made to control inflation. The cash rate is closely related
to the monetary policy. As the inflation target helps the RBA achieve its three objectives of monetary
policy, and the cash rate ultimately influences the level of inflation in the economy, the cash rate and
monetary policy can be seen to be closely related. The three objectives of monetary policy are;
maintaining price stability, full employment and economic prosperity and welfare of the Australian
people (Reserve Bank of Australia, 2013). The objectives of monetary policy will also be covered in

The Importance Of Character Change In Macbeth
Character change plays an important role in most fiction literature. In Shakespeare s Macbeth,
Macbeth s character change is one of the central points throughout the story. At the beginning of the
play, Macbeth was a trustworthy and loyal ruler. But, throughout the play, his character changed as a
result of many factors. The main reasons for Macbeth s character change were Lady Macbeth s attacks
on his personality, the murders that he committed, and Macbeth s dormant personality flaws. Lady
Macbeth has the most influence on her husband s change as she pushes down the first domino to the
downfall of his character. She starts by attacking his word From this time such account thy love. Thine
own act and valor / as thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that / which thou esteem st the ornament
of life, / and live a coward in thine own esteem (Macbeth 1.7.44 48). In this passage, she says he is
afraid to do what he desires, and he is a coward because he does not do whatever he says he will do.
While attacking his word, she attacks his manhood by calling him a coward Letting I dare not wait
upon I would, / like the poor cat i th adage? (1.7.48 49). She compares him with the poor cat in the old
story, which means that she is calling him a scaredy cat, as he no longer intends to kill Duncan. And
again, when Macbeth tries to ask his wife what would happen if they fail , she interrupts him and
indirectly says, if he stops being a coward, then they will not fail

It is proven many times that no country in the Middle East can become a democracy like the kind in
the U.S today. There are numerous reason why this came to be. The first is, When the French, British,
and Italians colonized their spheres of influence, they appointed Arab men who they believed could
best govern in for them. However, due to the small intentions of the Western powers, they failed to
inject democratic ideals into their spheres of influence.this is a huge point because since the Ottoman
empire fell in World War I and the loss of the Middle East in World War II, many countries were left
leaderless and shattered. This led to the fact that some countries blame the ideology of democracy for
poor economy and no power amongst other countries. Another reason is State propaganda. Like Mao
Zedong, Stalin, and even Kim Jong Un today, people are afraid to disagree with the government. In
the Middle East during the rise of dictators like Saddam Hussein, many established a secret police to
ensure order throughout the country whatever the measure is used to silence them. The removal of
Saddam left Iraq leaderless and the renewal of the constitution was not in play yet. This left many
militia and ISIS to take over small parts or territories, even steal weapons in which the U.S has
funded. Almost 73% of all weapons ISIS have comes from the U.S. President Bush even could have

Earthquakes and Hurricanes are two of the costliest natural disasters that have occurred around the
world. Both Japan and the United States have been unfortunate to experience many of both, with the
largest and costliest of each hitting both countries. While building codes continue to help with loss of
life and destruction of structures, there are still forces of nature that will destroy and damage buildings
regardless of the efforts that are made. With the cost of repairs increasing the destruction that can
happen with any major natural disaster will continue to increase repair costs. Both of these forms of
natural disasters will continue to impact both counties in the future with lessons learned with each

Effects Of Une-Con Mussolini
The Italian fascist regime between the years 1922 to 1943 provoked many changes in areas such as
education, religion, foreign influence and culture. In the film Un Tè Con Mussolini, Zeffirelli attempts
to advocate certain implications to the viewers by purposely choosing to either conceal or reveal many
of these transitions and their effects on the different sectors of Italian society. For instance, although
the central character Luca is presented to have some form of schooling the film fails to address any of
the educational procedures that the Prime Minister put in place in order to eliminate illiteracy and
allow for all children to attain a decent education. Instead of highlighting the success in this part of the

In the film we see this reality in how after mid 1940 when Italy declared war on Britain and France it
was a dangerous time to be Jewish, as there were spies that would denounce them to the fascist
authorities. In addition, like Elsa, Jews who were looking for a way out the country were often
deceived and had their valuables and capital stolen, as there was an attitude similar to that of Nazi
Germany in which people believed that the Jews through scheme managed to have power and
manipulate areas of finance and politics. (127) However, what Un Tè Con Mussolini doesn t show is
that many fascists were Jews themselves and that Mussolini was never a complete anti Semite
devotee, for many people whom he admired and worked with were Jewish too, such as Margherita
Sarfatti, his long time mistress and propaganda manager. (Paul, C.E. Zaczek) In addition, to further
show his detestation towards Mussolini, the movie withholds that part of the reason why the dictator
implemented the anti Semitic policy of 1938, was due to the fact that he was under pressure to please
Hitler and gain Germany s support in Abyssinia.(115) The reason as to why Zeffirelli chooses to
conceal this is rather unclear, as it is a piece of evidence that slightly lessens Mussolini s malice and
shows a different side to him. However, through this portrayal what can be held true for certain is that
one of the director s main aims is to persuade the audience of Il Duce s

The bachelor society was a reaction to the Chinese exclusion act and a shelter for Chinese people to live in. A great example of bachelor society is Chinatown. Because of the influence of the Chinese exclusion act of 1882, Chinese immigrants concentrated in Chinatown and had special characteristics. In Chinatown, the first characteristic of the Chinese immigrants were mostly men because Chinese women were excluded. • 5. Rolling in the Street Rolling in the Street In May 2013, Major Bloomberg launched a new bicycle program to have an additional mode of transportation for the citizens and visitors of New York City. The Department of Transportation chose to have a Public Private Partnership with Alta Bicycle Share over a fully public operated system in order to have an effective and faster delivery of the project. In addition, Citibank paid $41 million and Master Card $6 million to be the title sponsors for the bike share program. Although supporters of the bike sharing program are hopeful Citi Bike will reduce congestion and boost public health by active transportation, in a big city like New York, only a selected part of the population will be enjoying the benefits. This paper aims at addressing how public private partnerships effectively increase the level of production and efficiency, but negatively affect other important sectors of the economy. Presently, the key stakeholders are the government, the suppliers of the bikes, the employees, the costumers and the community. Each of these groups contributes in some way and has their own opinions, views and suggestions for the project. A lightbulb clicked and I decided to use Lifetime gym as my culture and a dumbbell as my artifact. The next step of this project was to compare my culture and artifact with another culture. The biggest obstacle I faced was having to be creative and think about how other people and cultures may view the dumbbell. It was difficult to pick just one certain group and try to hypothesis how they may view the dumbbell. I chose to think of how people of low income and countries in poverty may view the dumbbell. I hypothesized they most likely do not have access to the dumbbell. Therefore, not knowing what it is, or having to use other heavy objects as a substitute for a dumbbell. This project was very interesting and eye opening. An object like a dumbbell, which I have very easy access to, is not easily accessible for everyone. Without this project, I would not have thought of a broader culture. It makes me grateful to be able to have such easy access to a dumbbell, which others in countries in poverty may not have the luxury of. I reached the goals of this assignment. I was able to think of a specific artifact and describe it in specific detail. I then thought of a few broader cultures and was able to compare a specific culture to mine. Project three was the remix project. The goals of this project were to be able to take writing and turn it into a visual. In a group with two other people, we would use the phrase A ... An agency that enables its agents to have a license to kill, enabling them to do anything, at any cost to achieve the greater good, with the head of the agency M sitting behind a desk giving orders. This sounds like an agency that anyone would love to work for. In reality, it is an agency that has been through several wars and has evolved over the years with lies, secrets, and betrayal (Corera, 2011). MI6 was founded in October 1909, originally as the Foreign Section of the new Secret Service Bureau. The man behind the curtain that established the organization was Commander Mansfield Cumming (Thomas, 2009). In the beginning, the agency was surrounded with so much secrecy that it was difficult to get the agency off of the ground to meet its desired potential. However, by the end of 1909, Cummings was able to successfully create an organization devoted to the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence (Jeffery, 2010). As much as the agency was Cummings brainchild, the wheels starting to spin early in 1909 when a sub committee was put together to outline a plan to get Great Britain back into the intelligence collection business. The sub committee initially wanted a secret service bureau that would be in close contact with the War Office, Admiralty, and the Home Office (Corera, 2012). It would need to have three guidelines in place to follow: 1) serve as a middle between the Admiralty and the War Office for foreign spies who want to sell information to the government, 2) branch out to various parts of Great Britain to keep in touch with local constables to ascertain the nature and degree of espionage that is ... World Wars, and ideologically driven proxy wars brought destruction, and decline to many great countries. One would think that many people have died in these wars, but it is shocking to note that four times as many people have died at the hands of their government than in these wars. Institutions like the government are created to represent the people, to serve, and benefit their welfare. A type of government that does not follow this norm are often oppressive authoritarian regimes. These regimes can range from a one party rule where a political party or group governs, to a one man rule. Whichever it may be, authoritarian regimes tend to use similar tactics that ... The first two democratically held elections were won by nationalistic and reformist presidents. Progress and change is what the Guatemalans wanted as they sought to rid themselves of the poverty that plagued their country. Jacobo Arbenz succeeded Juan Jose Arevalo in 1950, and Arbenz would continue Arevalo s socialist policies. These policies included land reforms that redistributed land to the indigenous population. The land that was redistributed was previously expropriated from foreign companies, mainly the United States industries such as the United Fruit Company. Under these foreign companies, the indigenous workers endured intolerable treatment. Exposure to chemicals and malnutrition lead to the deaths of many workers. With the motive to protect their interests, the U.S. s Center for Intelligence Agency sponsored an intervention in Arbenz s presidency. I am Mother Teresa, the founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity and Patron Saint for Doubters (Eisenstadt Evans, Mother Teresa s canonization: She is the Patron saint for doubters ). I was born in Skopje, (the capital of the Republic of Macedonia) Albania in 1910. I m a Roman Catholic and from the age of 18 began to study to become a nun in Ireland (Gray, 60). In September of 1946, I received a calling from God saying I had to leave the convent and, help the poor by living among them, (Gray, 60). This led me to Calcutta, India where I founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity to restore dignity in the souls of the underprivileged, degraded, and ill ( Biography Mother Teresa ). I ve been criticized for my methods of maintaining my centers but have also been awarded the highest honor, the Nobel Peace Prize, in 1979 (Eisenstadt Evans, Mother Teresa s canonization: She is the Patron saint for doubters ). My life being surrounded by such violence has brought me here with you all today. My devotion to helping the helpless and forgiving the unforgivable leads me to believe that all people are embodiments of Christ and deserve to be loved and seen as equals. Since the state was a great fighting state in their time, the wars sort of formed the gladiatorial contest in ancient Rome. The Romans were fascinated and pleasured by violence, bloodshed, and human suffering the gladiatorial games. The gladiatorial contests began at the reign of their first emperor Augustus to pay tribute to their warrior traditions. The Romans built artificial battlefields within amphitheaters in cities and towns for public entertainment. It was then when officers of the state started producing the gladiatorial shows on a regular basis as a part of their job. Emperor Augustus restricted the gladiatorial games to two a year, limiting the aristocrats chances to receive the peoples vote for political offices. Each of the officials were forbidden to spend more on themselves than their associates. However, the emperor s rules were often broken by aristocrats due to the competitiveness of political power and prestige. Animals played a part in the gladiatorial shows also. In A.D. 108 9, Emperor Trajan gave games lasting 123 days containing 9,138 gladiators fought eleven thousand animals. In 169 B.C., sixty three African lions and leopards, forty bears, and several elephants were murdered in a single show. Romans then started to hunt new animals such as tigers, crocodiles, giraffes, lynxes, rhinoceros, and ostriches. Some shows involved hundreds of animals in one show. All of the animals were killed for entertainment. Gladiators were heroes to their culture. Even though most of the gladiators were slaves, women were attracted to them. But gladiators were also degraded by society. They were not allowed to be buried in normal burial grounds. Women also fought in gladiatorial games also. The women fought in the arena were men fought. • 16. King Lear Adaptations I think that the National Theater s King Lear was the more effective play. This is for two reasons, because it was had more hidden details and had better acting. These two features made the play easier to watch and more entertaining. First off, the National Theater s play had more hidden details that gave the viewers subtle clues as to the setting and characters, a great example of showing instead of telling which made the play much more interesting. An example of this was the microphone for Cordelia and her future husband was pointed to his side, even though Cordelia was there alone. This shows the lack of respect that women were given, King Lear was symbolically giving away land to a non existent husband over his blood borne daughter. This reveals how little he ... The National Theater s King Lear had other intricacies such as King Lear hitting Reagan s rear shows that his love might be one of an inappropriate nature and reveals some of his character traits. Secondly, in the National Theater s adaptation of King Lear, I felt the actors and actresses had better acting. King Lear was shown as being crazier and more short tempered which makes his descent into madness later on more believable. It also shows that he is prone to overreacting as he flips over tables when he feels unsatisfied, this leads the viewer to see why it made sense in his mind to banish Cordelia. In Olivier s play, King Lear is shown as much more level headed which makes it out of character for him to banish Cordelia and even hold the contest in the first place. As well, in the National Theater s King Lear the sisters Goneril and Reagan were portrayed more realistically. Goneril delivered her speech with a hint of nervousness, which would be likely given

The Wizard Of Oz Literary Analysis The Value of Literature: The epic journey to find the promised land in The Wizard of Oz Every character in The Wizard of Oz has a reason for going to Emerald city, each have the same reason but are all in search of something different. Their reasoning for going to the promise land, Emerald city, is to find the Great Wizard, Oz. Although they are all on a journey for Emerald city and Oz, what they are in search of is very different as is each character. Through Archetypal Theory it is shown that each character s reason for setting out on the journey to Emerald city distinguishes their type of character. Their journey is to find the promised land. Although they are not aware, the characters slowly gain what they originally set out to acquire throughout their journey, rather than at their destination. Although the journey seems as easy as following the yellow brick road, there are many obstacles the characters; the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion, must face throughout this novel. Through stages along their journey, the characters are all thrown into pivotal positions that they do not realize the importance of. In turn, this results in a drastic development of their characteristics. In these stages they are put in situations, which allows them to grow and adapt to what they are seeking on their journey, are what allows them to earn what they were seeking. Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) and state their differences. 2. Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum modulating frequency, determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM signal. 3. Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are accomplished. 4. Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM. Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two types of angle modulation. 1. Frequency Modulation 2. Phase Modulation Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction) FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. The term self care is a concept from Orem s self care deficit theory. The purpose of this concept analysis is to clarify the concept and determine how it is used in the nursing practice, particularly with rehabilitation patients. We will further explore this concept with literature reviews, the possible uses of this concept, its attributes, model and alternative cases, antecedents and consequences, and finally empirical referents. Aim of Analysis The aim of this concept analysis is to clearly define the concept of self care in relation to rehabilitation patients. The characteristics of self care will be further explored and explained, as well as its importance to nursing practice. By understanding the concept better, nurses will be able to be more involved in the patient s care and increase the rate of their recovery (Arman Hok, 2015). Literature Review According to Hashemi et al. (2013), promoting self care with patients gives them more control over their lives leading to an improved quality of life. The article emphasized the importance of empowering patients to perform activities independently. From the love between the two main characters, Romeo and Juliet, being forbidden, to their tragic deaths in the end, Romeo and Juliet certainly defies many stereotypes. The areas of the play where these stereotypes are broken/not met are where Romeo does not fit into the role of a man due to his being extremely sensitive at the beginning of the play, the fact that Romeo does not initiate his marriage to Juliet, and at the end, where Romeo kills himself because he believes that Juliet is no longer alive. In Romeo and Juliet, the gender roles that are placed upon males are not met with the character Romeo. At the beginning of the play, Romeo is upset about Rosaline, the girl who he likes, not liking him back. His being upset is especially prominent when Romeo makes his first appearance in the play towards the end of Act I, Scene I. Gotlib Hammen, (2002) propose a noticeable and explicit pattern that seems to continuously emerge is that depression appears to occur much more in western cultures (US, Canada, UK, Holland) than in Asian (Japan, Taiwan, China) cultures. Such differences in rates of depression have been attributed to a number of factors such as differences in the amount of humiliation attached to depression (Asian cultures stigmatizing symptoms of depression more than Western cultures) and to different levels of social support (with Asian cultures have a much more sense of collectivist community and social support from family and peers in contrast to individualistic western cultures). However these findings are also subject to scrutiny as with many cross cultural research studies. Ethnocentrism is usually the criticism that emerges during these studies; for example, the issue of diagnosing/classifying one with depression may differ country to country. Behaviour deemed abnormal in one country may be deemed normal in another. In addition to this, language barriers are likely to intervene, and researchers are likely to misinterpret subjects they are studying if there is a culture clash. Such differences may therefore justify the variation in prevalence of depression as oppose to being a true reflection of cultural differences. Aside from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia meet monthly to determine the cash rate for the following month, taking into account various economic conditions, both globally and domestically. Since August 2013, the cash rate in Australia has been at a record low, of 2.5 per cent (Reserve Bank of Australia, 2013). The three factors which will be considered in determining the cash rate for October 2014 are; the housing market boom , the falling value of the Australian dollar and iron ore prices trading at an all time low. Based on these three factors, on the 4th of October, the cash rate should be kept at the current rate of 2.5 per cent. With the latest inflation result showing inflation to be around the mid band target of the 2 3% target, no immediate cash rate decisions need to be made to control inflation. The cash rate is closely related to the monetary policy. • 37. The Importance Of Character Change In Macbeth Character change plays an important role in most fiction literature. In Shakespeare s Macbeth, Macbeth s character change is one of the central points throughout the story. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth was a trustworthy and loyal ruler. But, throughout the play, his character changed as a result of many factors. The main reasons for Macbeth s character change were Lady Macbeth s attacks on his personality, the murders that he committed, and Macbeth s dormant personality flaws. Lady Macbeth has the most influence on her husband s change as she pushes down the first domino to the downfall of his character. She starts by attacking his word From this time such account thy love. Thine own act and valor / as thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that / which thou esteem st the ornament of life, / and live a coward in thine own esteem (Macbeth 1.7.44 48). In this passage, she says he is afraid to do what he desires, and he is a coward because he does not do whatever he says he will do. While attacking his word, she attacks his manhood by calling him a coward Letting I dare not wait upon I would, / like the poor cat i th adage? (1.7.48 49). She compares him with the poor cat in the old story, which means that she is calling him a scaredy cat, as he no longer intends to kill Duncan. And again, when Macbeth tries to ask his wife what would happen if they fail , she interrupts him and indirectly says, if he stops being a coward, then they will not fail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is proven many times that no country in the Middle East can become a democracy like the kind in the U.S today. There are numerous reason why this came to be. The first is, When the French, British, and Italians colonized their spheres of influence, they appointed Arab men who they believed could best govern in for them. However, due to the small intentions of the Western powers, they failed to inject democratic ideals into their spheres of influence.this is a huge point because since the Ottoman empire fell in World War I and the loss of the Middle East in World War II, many countries were left leaderless and shattered. This led to the fact that some countries blame the ideology of democracy for poor economy and no power amongst other countries. Another reason is State propaganda. Like Mao Zedong, Stalin, and even Kim Jong Un today, people are afraid to disagree with the government. In the Middle East during the rise of dictators like Saddam Hussein, many established a secret police to ensure order throughout the country whatever the measure is used to silence them. The removal of Saddam left Iraq leaderless and the renewal of the constitution was not in play yet. This left many militia and ISIS to take over small parts or territories, even steal weapons in which the U.S has funded. Almost 73% of all weapons ISIS have comes from the U.S. President Bush even could have taken Benghazi s incident as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Effects Of Une-Con Mussolini The Italian fascist regime between the years 1922 to 1943 provoked many changes in areas such as education, religion, foreign influence and culture. In the film Un Tè Con Mussolini, Zeffirelli attempts to advocate certain implications to the viewers by purposely choosing to either conceal or reveal many of these transitions and their effects on the different sectors of Italian society. For instance, although the central character Luca is presented to have some form of schooling the film fails to address any of the educational procedures that the Prime Minister put in place in order to eliminate illiteracy and allow for all children to attain a decent education. Instead of highlighting the success in this part of the regime, Zeffirelli rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the film we see this reality in how after mid 1940 when Italy declared war on Britain and France it was a dangerous time to be Jewish, as there were spies that would denounce them to the fascist authorities. In addition, like Elsa, Jews who were looking for a way out the country were often deceived and had their valuables and capital stolen, as there was an attitude similar to that of Nazi Germany in which people believed that the Jews through scheme managed to have power and manipulate areas of finance and politics. (127) However, what Un Tè Con Mussolini doesn t show is that many fascists were Jews themselves and that Mussolini was never a complete anti Semite devotee, for many people whom he admired and worked with were Jewish too, such as Margherita Sarfatti, his long time mistress and propaganda manager. (Paul, C.E. Zaczek) In addition, to further show his detestation towards Mussolini, the movie withholds that part of the reason why the dictator implemented the anti Semitic policy of 1938, was due to the fact that he was under pressure to please Hitler and gain Germany s support in Abyssinia.(115) The reason as to why Zeffirelli chooses to conceal this is rather unclear, as it is a piece of evidence that slightly lessens Mussolini s malice and shows a different side to him. However, through this portrayal what can be held true for certain is that one of the director s main aims is to persuade the audience of Il Duce s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
