the bacteria. Studying and discovering unknown bacteria is very important in the health field as it may
lead to new medicines and innovations for current, existing diseases as well as any upcoming diseases.
The discovery of unknown bacteria is very useful in the pharmaceutical industry, as most of the
products prepared are made based on these unknown organisms.
The biochemical tests used to identify the unknown bacteria included: phenol red broth test (glucose,
lactose, and sucrose), methyl red and Voges Proskauer test, citrate test, indole test, H2S production
test, urea test and motility test. The PR broths are used to differentiate members of Enterobacteriaceae
and to distinguish these members from other gram negative rods. The PR broths are useful in
determining a bacterium s fermentation abilities. If the bacterium is able to utilize the carbohydrate,
then the acid production from fermentation lowers pH, which in turn turns the broth yellow. However,
if the bacterium is unable to utilize the carbohydrate, but does utilize the peptone, which produces the

Typically to understand a foreign culture s ontology, ethnographers and anthropologist examine

values, if any, and their orientation within the world. An alternative and more modern way of learning
ontological views of a culture is by taking a more interdisciplinary approach and looking towards
analyzing not just how they view aspects of the world but why. There is a cross between fields of
psychology and philosophy when anthropologists begin to analyze aboriginal conceptions of
Dreamings as a way to shed light onto their epistemology. Many studies have been done to signify the
importance of these Dreamings in the cultural shaping of their world. However, because emphasis is

The Help was published in 2005 by Kathryn Stockett. It was her first novel and it takes place around
1962 in Jackson, Mississippi where Stockett grew up. Stockett takes inspiration from the segregation
she witnessed in her hometown and the African American maid Demetrie, with whom she grew up
with, to write a passionate yet controversial novel in which she depicts the struggle between whites
and blacks along with the emotional struggle that the main characters endure throughout the novel.
The Help has been widely renowned yet disputable as Stockett uses the different aspects of life in the
south that she grew up with to write a fictional yet realistic account of the segregation during the
period of the Civil Rights Movement.
The Help is told from the point of view of three characters: two African American women, Minny who
is a cook, and Aibleen who is a maid and a white woman named Eugenia Skeeter Phelan. Stockett

The Depiction of the Berlin Wall and the Relation to its Historical Importance
The Berlin Wall, built in August of 1961, was a physical symbol of the division between East and
West Germany. After World War II, East Germany, also known as the German Democratic Republic,
constructed a wall that remained an indication of the divide of Germany for almost thirty years. The
purpose of this barrier was to separate democratic West Germany from communist East Germany.
During the Cold War, crossing this concrete wall was not an easy task, and it most likely led to
punishment and death.
The novel The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, written by John le Carré, illustrates the tasks of West
European spies during the Cold War. The Berlin Wall played a key role throughout the Cold War, thus
le Carré wrote about crossing the Wall in his book. The two parts from the novel that will be analyzed
contain descriptions of characters attempting to crossing the Wall. The novel begins with the death of
Karl Riemeck. Karl, a British spy, was trying to escape East Berlin and cross over into West Berlin

Knight s experience in life lends a unique hand about his work that makes it worthwhile. His
experienced a lack of education, yet he rises to become a great poet. He was surrounded by dying in
the war, but drugs resurrected him. His hope died in 1960 when he received a prison sentence, but,
poetry brought him back to life. Even in his words about himself describing himself as poetic, the
author uses various techniques to bring Hard Rock Returns to Prison alive. One of the methods he
uses in writing is alliteration, by using the repetition of Hard Rock s name throughout the poem,
persuading the reader not to forget, about the mistreatment of a human being, almost to the point of
having to remember that Hard Rock was indeed a prisoner. Imagery was another device used in
Knight s writing. He uses the image of a stallion preparing to be let loose from a cage only to find the
