Politics in Sports
The Olympic Games are a worldwide competition that brings people of different cultures and
backgrounds into one united area where they compete in their specialized sports. These events,
however, are not purely entertainment like they should have been. Today s societies are more
dependent on politics and therefore so are sports and the athletes competing, sometimes even without
their own will. In various occasions across the world politics was the main reason for athletes to
withdraw from athletic events such as the world cup, Olympics, and any other worldwide or region
wide competitions. On the other hand politics sometimes are the reason that some teams re establish
themselves and get back into the world scene in sports. This two sided ... Show more content on

The Mexico City Olympics in 1968 was a different yet similar incident where racism, closely related
to anti Semitism in the way society views the rights of people of all races and kinds. United States
athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos, African American males, competed in the 200 meter race and
won first and third place respectively. When they went on the podium the men didn t wear their shoes
revealing black socks, they wore black track uniforms and when were given their medals they
revealed black gloves on their hands while putting their fists in the air as an act of representing the
Black Power movement. Later on the two athletes were banned from the Olympic village because of
their unfit political statement to the apolitical athletic forum the Olympics are supposed to be. This
statement created controversy that again stirred the athletic event away from its task of entertainment
into a worldwide argument. Politics again have been a disruption to the long awaited athletic event.
The Olympic committee had done the right thing by making an example of these athletes and the
committees long run efforts to exclude politics from worldwide events; however, it never acted on the
Nazi salutes that the Germans used in the Berlin Olympics. Some may argue that it was their country s
national salute, but we all know today that it had a political background behind it that shouldn t have
been ignored. This incident had every sign of discrimination against the African

4222-305 Understand Positive Risk Taking for Individuals...
4222 305 Understand positive risk taking for individuals with disabilities (LD 305) 1. Understand that
individuals with disabilities have the same right as everyone else to take risks 1.2 Explain why,
traditionally, people with disabilities have been discouraged or prevented from taking risks. In Social
Care there is an accountability for the welfare of the individual, whether they are being cared for or
enabled to be independent. The enabler has responsibility for the individual, and the Company that
provides the service to the client has responsibility towards both the enabler and the individual. They
are answerable to families, CQC, the local council, social care workers and the police. An individual,
who has the mental capacity to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here we have an example of risk that was assessed, taken, and culminated uncomfortably. The
customer left the premises quickly. Do I take the individual again another time? Or should we abandon
all attempts to visit the cafe? It would be easier with two enablers, so one could find out information
when the individual arrived at the premises, whilst the other enabler supported the individual. But
there is no funding for 2 1 care. This leaves a situation where risk will always be present, but the skills
of the enablers will hopefully grow as they learn ways of promoting positive behaviour in the
community. 1.3 Describe the links between risk taking and responsibility, empowerment and social
inclusion. Anybody who takes a full role in society takes risks: crossing the road, using a bus, driving
a car, and talking to people they do not know. Risk may be physical (injury and accident), emotional
(humiliation, sense of failure), or mental (stress). A person who is excluded from a group is
disempowered. Inclusion is a strong and forceful need. Many people consider being part of a tribe,
gang, clique or social group a necessary part of their life. Exclusion is disempowering. We are aware
of bullying in schools, and the words still resound in my ears, You can t be part of our gang! With
inclusion and empowerment comes the responsibility and consequences of taking part in society in a
socially acceptable way. This is laid out in

WEB SITE ANALYSIS
INTRODUCTION
During the course of nine weeks, I have studied and constructed the first of what I hope will be many
Web sites. The course subjects I learned included planning the site, planning the navigation around the
site, learning how to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), using graphics and color to enhance the site,
and creating pleasing layouts. However, most important aspect of designing a Web site that I learned
was to adhere to web design best practices. These best practices help to create well coded Web sites to
strictly follow the standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The World Wide Web
Consortium was organized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CONCLUSION
My Life is a Web site that will be updated a few times a year, especially following important family
events such as new babies, marriages, and other events that I participate in. This means that there will
be more photographs and text that will be added over time. It is my hope that anyone of any age will
be able to access and navigate easily throughout my Web site as it grows.
James J. Cappel and Zhenyu Huang wrote, web usability is a broad concept that encompasses many
aspects of design including a Web site s presentation, its navigation features, and its functionality or
usefulness to visitors (Cappel amp; Huang, 2007). I have kept these attributes in mind as a created My
Life: Capturing the Moments, Creating the Memories Web site.

investment in diverse industries including defence, heavy engineering, power, transportation including
automobiles, petroleum and petrochemicals, textiles, and food processing. Unlike in the past, where
manufacturing came up in the proximity of metros and mini metros unless there were backward area
benefits or other incentives, this time around manufacturing investments are spread almost all across
India. This is, of course, after evaluating attributes such as the availability of raw material, manpower
and its relative costs, environment issues, supply chain and logistics issues, and market factors which
render availability of fiscal incentives as just one of the many variables in the manufacturing location
selection grid. The services sector is also moving beyond IT. The largest growth in the coming years
will be in a host of new services including retail, healthcare, leisure and recreation, education and
coaching, construction and other real estate, grooming and well being, and travel and hospitality. This,
in turn, has many dimensions, with the most important being the certainty of unprecedentedly large
numbers of women entering the workforce. Further, these sectoral jobs are even more spread out

Andy Clark s Natural-Born Cyborgs Essay
Andy Clark, in Natural Born Cyborgs, offers an extended argument that technology s impact on and
intertwining with ordinary biological human life is not to be feared, either psychologically or morally.
Clark offers several key concepts towards his line of reasoning. Clark argues that a human being
thinks and reasons based on the biological brain and body dynamically linked with the culture and
technological tools transparently accessible to the human. This form of thinking and reasoning
develops new quot;thinking systems quot; that which over time become second nature thoughts and
reasons and are the basis of even newer quot;thinking systems. quot; It is a repetitive cycle that
continues forever being built upon previous systems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The example he uses is of a boy trapped in isolation at a computer or video game. Clark asserts that
isolation is a matter of perspective, and that as it appears the boy is alone, he is actually spending
quality time in his chosen community that is brought together only through the power of technology.
He contends that this may expand our embodied awareness, In a strange way, we may even come to
better appreciate the value and significance of our normal bodily presence by exploring such
alternatives. Not disembodiment, then, so much as a deeper understanding of why the body matters
and of the space of possible bodies and perspectives. Not isolation so much as a wider and less
geocentric kind of community. (Clark, 194) The argument strategy that Clark employs is similar to a
critiquing strategy where he clearly defines his opponent s concern(s), usually by the use of a real
world example. After he has made the reader well aware of his opponent s concern(s), he generally
uses the same example to tactfully pitch his proposal as a solution to eliminate or neutralize the
concern. The proposal is based on one of two sources, his personal beliefs or observations and theories
based on his research and comprehensive knowledge of humans, technology, and society. In some
instances, he will offer multiple proposals to strengthen his defense and allow the reader to understand
there a several possibilities. It appears from the heavy citation of Daniel Dennett s works

Roaming the mall, I was stopped by an older man with a crew cut hairstyle. His name was Mike and

Bergerac Systems: The Challenge of Backward Integration
Abstract
Veterinary expenditure has been on an increasing trend due to the increase in pet ownership in the
United States. Bergerac is a company producing equipments used for testing pet patients in the
veterinarian clinics. Omnivue is one of the most successful equipments produced by the company,
which is priced at a competitive rate to attract lower and middle sized veterinarians. The production of
Omnivue involves the use of plastics and chemical reagents supplied by two major suppliers,
GenieTech and Elsinore. The management of Bergerac is planning to take control over its suppliers to
reduce the production fluctuation and overhead costs of the firm. There are three strategic ... Show

Hence, manufacturing department should not interfere in the distribution department, and the latter
should be experienced in distribution of products like Omnivue to the end customers.
Strategic Alternative 2 Backward Integration
Backward integration is a type of vertical integration in which a company takes control over its
suppliers. It is a form of acquisition of the intermediary players involved in supplying the raw
materials used in the production process of the firm. Raw materials, intermediate manufacturing and
assembly are controlled by the firm whereas distribution to the end customer is done by a third party
company. In this way, company increases production efficiency and gains a competitive advantage by
lowering its production cost.
Bergerac can opt for the buy option and implement its backward integration by acquiring GenieTech.
GenieTech can provide the company with eight efficient molding machines for the acquisition price of
$ 5.75 million. The price includes experienced labor force and management. Bergerac can fulfill its
chemical reagent demand by using 4 out of 8 moulds provided in the acquisition. Rest of the presses
can be used in the expansion process or can be used to meet the demand of a third party. This
investment can result in the reduction of overhead expenses by twenty six percent per unit. Bergerac
can pay the amount over a period of five years making the project

Osteoarthritis And Rheumatoid Arthritis
Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the health topic of arthritis. Firstly, the different types of
arthritis are discussed, with definitions given for two of the more common forms, Osteoarthritis and
Rheumatoid Arthritis. This will be followed by a discussion about assessment tools that have been
developed to help those with rheumatoid arthritis.
There are many different types of arthritis. These include: Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Fibromyalgia, Psoriatic Arthritis, Juvenile Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Gout, Polymyalgia
Rheumatic and Lupus (Arthritis Ireland).
Definitions
Osteoarthritis (OA)
According to Arthritis Ireland, the most common type of arthritis is osteoarthritis. Symptoms of this
occur gradually and these symptoms can affect different joints in the body. Yet, the cause is unknown
but it is generally known as Wear and tear arthritis . Symptoms of osteoarthritis will vary from person
to person. Symptoms can vary from being subtle and barely noticeable to becoming worse in the space
of a months.

The Book of Eli
Superbly written and astonishing storytelling!
At first, I thought the Book of Eli is just another ferocious film featuring what life would have been
after the judgement day. But beyond the blood sputtered scenes and vulgar language, viewers will
appreciate the simplicity of the story and the complexity and profoundness of its nature and form. The
film features a compelling story based on the Christian bible which for me exceeded majority of some
motion pictures released in the past years.
Denzel Washington, an Oscar winner and a self professed Christian, was able to portray his character
with so much sincerity and profoundness of depth and emotion. In a world of chaos where violence
and desire for survival prevails, Eli was given an important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But for me, the rating was unnecessary because it only depicts the reality of life in a post apocalyptic
world. Directors and scriptwriters definitely didn t hold back on the violence by showing the bits and
pieces of the evil world. There are scenes where women are taken advantage of by cold blooded
gangs. Face to Face warfare and weapons fighting also became a norm throughout the movie.
The Book of Eli is a well built story about a strong minded man who will do anything and everything
just to follow and obey the will of the Lord. However, the cruelty and explicit language used is
inappropriate for families. Anyway, I believe it is really meant for adult audiences so maybe in the
near future the director would consider releasing the same quality movie that will reach the masses.

In 1982, after the death of her father and a divorce from her husband, Ms. Browne felt a void in her

Essay on Foaling Report
It is said that the horse is the most insufficient domestic animal at breeding and reproducing. This is
largely because breeders have manipulated the gestation periods of the mare so that they are out of
season breeders. The gestation length of a mare is in between 335 and 340 days. This leaves little time
in the year to successfully rebreed a mare after foaling. Because of this, there needs to be considerable
time taken to effectively care for the pregnant or open mare. Nutrition is an early factor in the
gestation of the mare, this is then followed by the necessary vaccinations and deworming programs
that should be routinely scheduled. The preparations of the stall and the mare are easy to ready for
foaling, most can be done well ahead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third trimester is the period of the greatest amount of growth in the fetus, 60 to 65 percent of the
growth occurs during this time (Blanchard et al., 2003). For this reason in the last three months of
gestation the crude protein content of the total ration should be increased to around nine to ten percent
(Blanchard et al., 2003). Another factor that affects the horses ability to attain proper nutrition is the
dental health of the mare. The horse s teeth should be examined and or floated every six to twelve
months to ensure proper chewing, which in return helps maintain the optimal body condition
(Blanchard et al., 2003). Lastly, fescue grass needs to be completely avoided in the diet of the
pregnant mare. The fungus found in fescue causes the placenta to thicken and become unusually
tough. It can cause a prolonged gestation date, abortion and or dead or weak foals and potentially
higher prenatal foal mortality (Reed et al., 2004) Second to nutrition of the mare are vaccinations and
deworming programs. Each should be specific to the needs of the farm and even more so, to that of the
gestation period of the mare. The point of vaccinating and deworming the mares is to protect the
mares from any infectious diseases or parasites that can adversely alter the fetus and, in some cases,
cause abortion. It is suggested in many

How Did Milton Hershey Grow Up
Where did milton hershey grow up
Milton Snavely Hershey was born on September 13, 1857 in the small town of Derry, Pennsylvania.
He only had one sibling, a sister named Serena who sadly died from Scarlet fever when Milton was
nine years old. His mother, Fanny, was a devoted Mennonite.
His father, Henry, was a dreamer who was constantly starting new jobs and working on his next get

After the fourth grade, his mother decided that Milton should leave school and learn a trade of candy

The Libido For The Ugly Essay
During early 20th century, American writers were influenced by the changing world of
industrialization and globalization. The horrors and World War 1 and the invention of new
technologies had people questioning the future of humanity. Writers and journalist used this time to
voice their views and experiences during these troubling times. Henry Louis Mencken is well known
writer who had a powerful influence on America s writing style during the 1920s. His writing style

homeless, mangy, dirty animal that eats scraps out the trashcan. This introduction by him, paints the
picture for what the reader can expect, that American s are unconcerned with their way of living and
are content with living like a stray animals. Mencken continues to describe the landscape of the 25

We didn t speak of sneaking into Nerla s room again, until one day when we were in the backyard.

Karen L. Edwards The Mother Of All Femmes
Eve has been considered as the mother of femmes fatales. Karen L. Edwards, in The Mother of All
Femmes Fatales: Eve as Temptress in Genesis 3 argue that allusions to the story of the fall regularly
assume Eve to be the archetypal femme fatale: she tempts Adam to participate with her in a divinely
forbidden act in order to gain illicit knowledge, thus luring him to death, and with him the rest of
human kind (35). Another good illustration of the fatal woman is Lilith, who has been dismissed from
the Garden of Aden after claiming her equality with Adam in terms of sexuality and desires.
Moreover, Lilith is seen as a destructive women who brought death to humanity by murdering
children. This turns her into an evil woman in the masquerade

Critical Analysis Of Vanity Fair
Critical Analysis The novel Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray is a mystery story of the
various kinds of vanity driven people in a city lead by social status. Many, if not all, main characters
in one way or another commit a heinous deed in order to feel better about themselves. Their
selfishness is almost always the driving force behind all of their motives. This novel perfectly captures
Thackerays satirical writing. It pinpoints all the flaws within those that are vain, both low and high
class, and often humors himself by inserting witty ways to solve each of the characters problems.
Satirical writing is a genre for authors that want to call attention to important topics such as vanity,
government, the environment, and much more. There is humor and wit intertwined with the sarcastic
remarks of an author. Vanity Fair is one book that covers just how vain all classes can be shown
through symbolism, tone, and setting. Thackeray uses the low points in his life as inspiration for his
novels and short stories. They are heavily reflected as the themes, topics taught to teach readers and
hopefully mold their minds and persuade them in some way. One way he displays these messages is
through the symbolism in his writing. As a satirist and moralist, he exposes the incongruity that can be
lost between romance and reality (McMaster). It is true that Vanity Fair is deserving of the subtitle A
Novel without a Hero because of the unheroic characters selfishly acting for their

the labor force today (Friedan). The activist continues to use evidential elements and statistics in her
testimony, stating for every mother of children who worked in 1940, ten mothers are working today,
an increase from slightly over 1.5 million to nearly 11 million (Friedan). Friedan also makes point that
a man applying for the same position would not be denied because he was father to pre school aged
children. The use factual evidence makes many of Friedan s assertions irrefutable and provides solid
backing for her case against Carswell. However, Friedan does not just use factual evidence. The
activist also appeals to emotions in her testimony, and although this may not be the most effective tool
against her targeted audience, it does give her backing beyond the factual. Friedan asks the committee
to place themselves in the shoes of those she fights for, and asks for empathy. To paraphrase, Friedan
asks them to imagine themselves being denied for reelection, or applying for a job at a company or
law firm or university and being told they are ineligible simply because they had a child (Friedan).
After painting this picture for the committee, Friedan hits back with a question, asking then how do
you feel about appointing to the Supreme Court a man who has said

Summary Of The Assassination Of Abraham Lincoln
What was the most significant truth you learned from this book and what makes it so significant? How
will you apply this new knowledge to your future? Abraham Lincoln supported the Civil war as he felt
that it was necessary to prevent secession of the Southern States, even though the states had the right
to secede. He was against the institution of slavery expanding and he grew up with a family that
attended a Baptist church that opposed slavery. However, it is uncertain as to what Lincoln s views on
African Americans truly were as he appealed to his voters, white men. The most significant truth I
learned from Killing Lincoln was that there are horrible people from all walks of life; however, blind
hatred should not be condoned. Blind hatred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln while he was unarmed and sitting next to his wife
watching a play. To most American citizens he was a crazed murderer without a conscience, but to
others, such as the countless southern sympathizers as a result of the Civil War, he was a martyr for
their cause. At the time of Lincoln s assassination the war was essentially over, Booth killed because
he and his fellow southern sympathizers were sore losers. He did not murder to satisfy a sick
perversion; he killed to atone for the sins of the union. Booth went to church, he was well educated, he
was an actor, he had charisma, all of the traits of someone who should not have been a felon, but he
was. He was not perfect, he was racist, and he fervently supported his opinions, which is not
necessarily an evil action, but with freedom comes the potential for great actions of differing morals.
He was politically motivated to assassinate Lincoln, he was not insane. He believed that the best
country in the world was the United States before the Civil War, and like Lincoln did with his
presidency and the Emancipation Proclamation, he made great efforts to enact changes in radical
ways. However, I believe that the killing of another human

Crying Of Lot 49 Essay
Thomas Pynchon s The Crying of Lot 49 (1966) is one of the early instances of postmodern literature,
in which the spread of mass culture plays a central role. In addition, the novel explores the ways, in
which conspiracy of unknown forces or structures influence an individual s vision of the world and
self. The entire novel is saturated with references to popular culture; Oedipa s world is filled with and
dominated by mass culture technology, such as television, radio and newspaper, and most of the
people around her are in some ways representing various historical figures. The names of the
characters are an essential aspect of The Crying of Lot 49, and are reflecting both popular culture and
the struggle to determine one s identity in the novel. Oedipa s name is a reference to the Ancient
Greek tragedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, the name of Oedipa s psychiatrist Dr. Hilarius is, for instance, a similar play of the
language, since there is nothing hilarious about his character, who is engaging in formidable
experiments at a World War II concentration camp. When it comes to experiencing paranoia and
conspiracy, the plot follows the main character Oedipa Maas, who discovers Trystero, a secret postal
service organization, which threatens the economy of the official postal service. The information she
finds about the existence of Trystero, however valid it may be, radically changes her perception of the
world. Throughout the novel, Oedipa becomes more and more paranoid and disorganized, reading
hidden meaning into everything. Solving the mystery of Trystero becomes her ultimate priority in life
and makes her unable to distinguish the world of her obsession from the real world. Even though she
is somewhat aware of creating her own reality, she does not know what extent of the world she
perceives is real and how much is a part of her

Nurses Care Of Patients With Multiple Problems And Needs
Registered nurses take care of patients with multiple problems and needs. Being able to establish
priorities by figuring out which needs take superiority over other needs is a crucial role in our career.
Prioritizing is the important to time management. It allows the registered nurse to focus on tasks that
require more of your attention, energy, and time. Some things may be left undone, but they can be
passed down to the oncoming shift, and some things can be delegated to other team members. Nursing
is a 24 hour job. Prioritizing patients should be done according to Maslow hierarchy of needs, ABCs,
stable versus unstable patients or the nursing process. Maslow hierarchy of needs identifies different
levels of human needs. There are five levels of needs: physiological needs these are basic needs; they
include both needs necessary for survival and needs that are basic, but not mandatory for survival.
Safety needs the things we need to give us a sense of security; your property, your well being, and
your family all provide you with your safety needs. Love/Belonging needs your need to feel like you
fit in. Esteem needs the things that add to your ego. Self actualization the highest level of the
hierarchy; insight that is complete when you reach your full prospective and your ability to distinguish
your full prospective. Nursing process steps include assessment, analysis, planning, implementation,
and evaluation (Duncan DePew, 2011). Assessment is the first step in

Ballet Shot Analysis
Following this long shot we are shown a close up shot of Nina s foot, during this shot Nina is
practicing a fouetté. The purpose of this shot is to convey to the viewer how much pressure Nina is
placing on her body, in particular, her feet. A lot of ballet in danced en pointe (on the tip of a person s
toes), this sort of pressure can be detrimental to one s physical well being. A lot of members in the
audience will have prior knowledge of how painful and strenuous it can be to place all of your body
weight on just your toes, thus reinforcing to the audience the large amount of pressure Nina is forcing
upon herself.
The audience can also see the scuff marks on the floor, this effectively demonstrates just how much
time Nina dedicates to practicing at home. As an audience, we generally know from personal
experience and exposure that this is what wood looks like after it has been scratched and used
excessively. From this the audience is able to interpret the extent to which this area has been used.
Nina s extensive and obsessive practice schedule has placed so much pressure and friction on the
wood that her petite body was successful in wearing away the surface of the wood. ... Show more

This shows the audience just how frequently Nina practices. Either these are new ballet shoes,
meaning she is already prepared for hers to give in, having brand new shoes at the ready means she
doesn t need to disturb her practice. Or on the other hand, they may be shoes she has already used and
destroyed due to her excessive rehearsal schedule, showing just how much she practices and how
intense and prolonged these practices really are. This reaffirms the idea of obsession to the audience,
confirming to them that the purposeful addition of the ballet shoes in the background of this shot
effectively demonstrate how Nina s obsession is increasing, and how this leads to her inevitable self
destruction later on in the

Compare And Contrast The Book And Book
Quoting Joseph Conrad s famous statement as a storyteller My task which I am trying to achieve is, by
the powers of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel it is, before all, to make to see.
Sixteen years later, D.W Griffith, a filmmaker echoes the same thoughts The task I m trying to achieve
is above all to make you see . George Bluestone s Novels into Film claims that between the percepts
of the visual image and the concept of the mental image lies the root difference between two media. It
is true that a novel and film are both raw form of artistic creativity and it helps us to see a whole new
world or imagination. However what is written and what is on screen, there will always be a

narrator mentions that the wolf is carnivore incarnate it is rather like a machine function to murder and

clear that there is no point pitying the human side of werewolves as they chose it themselves and it is
through the child s pity that moves her to join the company of the wolves . In both text and films, the
themes being explored are sexuality and the loss of innocence. Which are told brilliantly in both forms

Whitechapel Shootings Essay
Over the years many historians have researched further into the Whitechapel murders and discovered
more about what this revealed about class in late Victorian London. It can be highlighted that there
were many different views surrounding the issue of class, such as the views of the working class, the
issues that were highlighted surrounding class differences and specifically demonstrating what the
Whitechapel murders revealed about the pre existing social tensions in Victorian society. As well as
this, we can also explore how and why these social tensions impacted Victorian society after the
Whitechapel murders. Showed, demonstrated many things, revealed about existing issues, things that

In the last decades of the Victorian period, East London was predominantly inhabited by the working
classes. The working classes mainly consisted of the native English population, Irish immigrants, and
immigrants belonging to Central and Eastern Europe and German Jews, many of whom were living in
extreme poverty and great numbers of these immigrants were residing in Whitechapel. It can be
suggested through research, that the Whitechapel murders helped historians to develop their
understanding about the viewpoint that many people had in regards to immigrants, specifically those
who belonged to the working class. This can be demonstrated through the fact that although there was
no evidence to prove that the killer was a person who belonged to the Jewish community, a number of
newspapers continued to broadcast and support the view that the murders were foreign in character.
Historian, Blair, writes, the exacerbated pre existing anti Semitism and put Jews in an unfortunate
position of being a very convenient scapegoat on which to vent frustrations and fears of the working
class (Blair, 1996:490). This point can help in many ways, such as being able to identify and
understand the issues within the Victorian society and the views that

Ap Human Geography Midterm
What a relief!!! Yesterday was our midterm exam and I am feeling great about it. I have not felt this
way since last semester when I took a lower level genetics course after I already took the more
advanced genetics course a semester prior. I am pretty sure I got an A on it (hopefully). I wish I could
say the same about another midterm I had earlier this week. I just hope I passed that one. I could really
use the good news. I was really surprised the test had nothing on the Leopold reading, which was my
biggest concern because we never really discussed it in discussion section, so I didn t know if I had
the concepts right in my head. I hope we get a chance to discuss it before the final exam.
Anyways, on Tuesday this week (3/8), I noticed something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It also allowed me to keep track of changes that occur daily. Lastly (and what made me care so much
about this tree was the class I took at my connunity college. It was a biology course where we
explored nature and learned different types of trees. While in this course, my teacher taught us one
very crucial concept that I never took much thought on. It was trouble involved in transferring/moving
resource to different areas and the impact it has on the local environment that loses these resources.
The example she gave was the movement of phosphorus to farmlands that causes run off. Thereby, it
is causing damn to streams and the organisms that live in them. I believe the combination of learning
about different trees and the concept not to remove anything from its local environment gave me this
feeling that this tree should not be removed. To me, this stump provided much to the local
environment, more so than the possible impact it could have had in research. Even though that might
not be the case, in my opinion it was.
I sure that there are a lot more context factors that may have led to me caring about this stumps but
they are not in clear view for me. Nevertheless, if stump removal became more of a popular thing to
do on campus, I feel my private trouble would soon turn into a public issue, especially for those in
conservation groups on campus. Oh well. I could only hope that other people notice this and that
stump removal doesn t become a big thing. In the meantime, I just have to deal with the loss stump

It is believed that in order to change people, you have to change the way that the think.
The general line of reasoning is that if we learn to incorporate each other s diverse traits and
characteristics in the workplace, we can then use these differences to foster an innovative
environment, which will give the company a competitive advantage over the competitors that do not
accept workforce diversity. According to the Allied Academies International Conference, Diversity is
rapidly becoming a common practice among companies due to the increasing number of minorities
entering the job market today. As these groups become more prevalent throughout companies, upper
level employees are facing numerous challenges when determining what changes must take place to
create a positive working environment for everyone. Management is responsible for the development
and implementation of effective policies directly relating to diversity to ensure the acceptance of
minorities into the workplace and to aid in minorities success through equal opportunities and
treatment. (Marcia L. James, 2001, Academy for Studies in International Business Proceedings)

Conservation And Environmental Conservation
The ultimate aspiration of the conservation movement was to empower society to proficiently and
effectively utilize its natural resources. Since the founding of the United States, Americans have
become dependent upon the existence of raw materials. With the further western expansion, and the
increasing population, nonrenewable resources such as oil and coal were in high demand. Although
there was a sudden increase in the demand for these resources, the supply of the resource stayed
constant. Specifically, conservation highlighted the new idea behind environmentalism, the concern
for maintaining the environment. The popularity of conservation came from individuals newfound
focus on the environment, as the western frontier had officially been closed. This was due in part to
Theodore Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot s philosophies and mandates, which spearheaded efforts to
have Americans view their use and abuse of their environment differently, and their resulting benefits.
The practice of conservationism was a heavily contested topic during the time of Theodore Roosevelt
s presidency. As the 26th President of the United States of America, Roosevelt enacted the Square
Deal, which was a policy where he had complete control of corporations, the ability to protect
consumers, and the need to conserve natural resources. He initiated The Desert Land Act, which gave
the federal government the authority to sell arid land at a low price, if the customer agreed to irrigate
and cultivate

Abstract
This paper will discuss the effects perfusion has on the body as well as the multiple body systems that
are effected from poor perfusion. We will be looking at the relationships between profusion as it
relates to ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and tuberculosis. This paper will use online journal
entries from EPSCO as well as off line entries from Lewis to help us find a better understanding into
the related topics at hand. Lastly I will discuss stroke in depth as it pertains to my clinical experience
and explain the strong link profusion has on ischemic stroke and the measures used to retain brain
tissue. We will look at research done by Agarwal, Smriti (2015) that looks at the effectiveness and
time saving procedures researched by his team when detecting stroke as well as research done by
Dong, Hongli (2015) that shows a strong correlation between vitamin b12 and folic acid and the
prevention of an ischemic event.

This approach can feel blunt to a non German, but it s simply their way of ensuring clear

Holbach is an incompatibisist concerning determinism and free will. In compatibilism is the view that
beliefs in determinism and free will are inconsistent. Inconsistent when you have two beliefs that are
inconsistent if and only if it is impossible for them both to be true at the same time. Meaning one has
to be at least must actually be false. The beliefs I am talking about are determined and to see if the will
is free? He thinks at least one must be false at all times meaning he believes that we do not have free
will. Hume as a very different view than Holbach in some regards. One way he is different is; Hume is
a compatibilist this means he believes in determinism and free will are consistent. Hume has a
different view on what free will even is and he also believes we have liberty. Liberty is the absence of
external constraint. Hume disagrees with Holbach because; Holbach feels that free will requires
anything more than liberty. Holbach argument of free will starts with his premises one. Every action is
caused by a preceding event. Premise two states; no action that is caused by a preceding event is free.
Thus, no action is free. Holbach supports his theory by his belief in determinism in premise one and
being an incompatibles. He believes that are actions re not caused that they are only absence of the
external constraint. Hume arguments that if good were to will it, we would be all be happy. Yet,
neither humans nor animals are happy therefore he does not will

  • 2. Politics in Sports The Olympic Games are a worldwide competition that brings people of different cultures and backgrounds into one united area where they compete in their specialized sports. These events, however, are not purely entertainment like they should have been. Today s societies are more dependent on politics and therefore so are sports and the athletes competing, sometimes even without their own will. In various occasions across the world politics was the main reason for athletes to withdraw from athletic events such as the world cup, Olympics, and any other worldwide or region wide competitions. On the other hand politics sometimes are the reason that some teams re establish themselves and get back into the world scene in sports. This two sided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Mexico City Olympics in 1968 was a different yet similar incident where racism, closely related to anti Semitism in the way society views the rights of people of all races and kinds. United States athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos, African American males, competed in the 200 meter race and won first and third place respectively. When they went on the podium the men didn t wear their shoes revealing black socks, they wore black track uniforms and when were given their medals they revealed black gloves on their hands while putting their fists in the air as an act of representing the Black Power movement. Later on the two athletes were banned from the Olympic village because of their unfit political statement to the apolitical athletic forum the Olympics are supposed to be. This statement created controversy that again stirred the athletic event away from its task of entertainment into a worldwide argument. Politics again have been a disruption to the long awaited athletic event. The Olympic committee had done the right thing by making an example of these athletes and the committees long run efforts to exclude politics from worldwide events; however, it never acted on the Nazi salutes that the Germans used in the Berlin Olympics. Some may argue that it was their country s national salute, but we all know today that it had a political background behind it that shouldn t have been ignored. Understand that individuals with disabilities have the same right as everyone else to take risks 1.2 Explain why, traditionally, people with disabilities have been discouraged or prevented from taking risks. In Social Care there is an accountability for the welfare of the individual, whether they are being cared for or enabled to be independent. The enabler has responsibility for the individual, and the Company that provides the service to the client has responsibility towards both the enabler and the individual. They are answerable to families, CQC, the local council, social care workers and the police. An individual, who has the mental capacity to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here we have an example of risk that was assessed, taken, and culminated uncomfortably. The customer left the premises quickly. Do I take the individual again another time? Or should we abandon all attempts to visit the cafe? It would be easier with two enablers, so one could find out information when the individual arrived at the premises, whilst the other enabler supported the individual. But there is no funding for 2 1 care. This leaves a situation where risk will always be present, but the skills of the enablers will hopefully grow as they learn ways of promoting positive behaviour in the community. 1.3 Describe the links between risk taking and responsibility, empowerment and social inclusion. Anybody who takes a full role in society takes risks: crossing the road, using a bus, driving a car, and talking to people they do not know. Risk may be physical (injury and accident), emotional (humiliation, sense of failure), or mental (stress). A person who is excluded from a group is disempowered. Inclusion is a strong and forceful need. Many people consider being part of a tribe, gang, clique or social group a necessary part of their life. Exclusion is disempowering. We are aware of bullying in schools, and the words still resound in my ears, You can t be part of our gang! With inclusion and empowerment comes the responsibility and consequences of taking part in society in a socially acceptable way. This is laid out in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Web Analysis Essay WEB SITE ANALYSIS IT236 September 18, 2011 Professor Elizabeth Blackwell WEB SITE ANALYSIS INTRODUCTION During the course of nine weeks, I have studied and constructed the first of what I hope will be many Web sites. The course subjects I learned included planning the site, planning the navigation around the site, learning how to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), using graphics and color to enhance the site, and creating pleasing layouts. However, most important aspect of designing a Web site that I learned was to adhere to web design best practices. These best practices help to create well coded Web sites to strictly follow the standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The World Wide Web Consortium was organized ... Unlike in the past, where manufacturing came up in the proximity of metros and mini metros unless there were backward area benefits or other incentives, this time around manufacturing investments are spread almost all across India. This is, of course, after evaluating attributes such as the availability of raw material, manpower and its relative costs, environment issues, supply chain and logistics issues, and market factors which render availability of fiscal incentives as just one of the many variables in the manufacturing location selection grid. The services sector is also moving beyond IT. The largest growth in the coming years will be in a host of new services including retail, healthcare, leisure and recreation, education and coaching, construction and other real estate, grooming and well being, and travel and hospitality. This, in turn, has many dimensions, with the most important being the certainty of unprecedentedly large numbers of women entering the workforce. • 6. Andy Clark s Natural-Born Cyborgs Essay Andy Clark, in Natural Born Cyborgs, offers an extended argument that technology s impact on and intertwining with ordinary biological human life is not to be feared, either psychologically or morally. Clark offers several key concepts towards his line of reasoning. Clark argues that a human being thinks and reasons based on the biological brain and body dynamically linked with the culture and technological tools transparently accessible to the human. This form of thinking and reasoning develops new quot;thinking systems quot; that which over time become second nature thoughts and reasons and are the basis of even newer quot;thinking systems. quot; It is a repetitive cycle that continues forever being built upon previous systems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The example he uses is of a boy trapped in isolation at a computer or video game. Clark asserts that isolation is a matter of perspective, and that as it appears the boy is alone, he is actually spending quality time in his chosen community that is brought together only through the power of technology. He contends that this may expand our embodied awareness, In a strange way, we may even come to better appreciate the value and significance of our normal bodily presence by exploring such alternatives. Not disembodiment, then, so much as a deeper understanding of why the body matters and of the space of possible bodies and perspectives. Not isolation so much as a wider and less geocentric kind of community. (Clark, 194) The argument strategy that Clark employs is similar to a critiquing strategy where he clearly defines his opponent s concern(s), usually by the use of a real world example. After he has made the reader well aware of his opponent s concern(s), he generally uses the same example to tactfully pitch his proposal as a solution to eliminate or neutralize the concern. The proposal is based on one of two sources, his personal beliefs or observations and theories based on his research and comprehensive knowledge of humans, technology, and society. In some instances, he will offer multiple proposals to strengthen his defense and allow the reader to understand there a several possibilities. • 10. Critique Of The Book Of Eli DBA Student : Romeo B. Leneses Jr. Astrological Sign: PISCES Subject: Philosophy of Business Professor: Dr. Carlos Manapat The Book of Eli Superbly written and astonishing storytelling! At first, I thought the Book of Eli is just another ferocious film featuring what life would have been after the judgement day. But beyond the blood sputtered scenes and vulgar language, viewers will appreciate the simplicity of the story and the complexity and profoundness of its nature and form. The film features a compelling story based on the Christian bible which for me exceeded majority of some motion pictures released in the past years. Denzel Washington, an Oscar winner and a self professed Christian, was able to portray his character with so much sincerity and profoundness of depth and emotion. In a world of chaos where violence and desire for survival prevails, Eli was given an important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But for me, the rating was unnecessary because it only depicts the reality of life in a post apocalyptic world. Directors and scriptwriters definitely didn t hold back on the violence by showing the bits and pieces of the evil world. There are scenes where women are taken advantage of by cold blooded gangs. Face to Face warfare and weapons fighting also became a norm throughout the movie. The Book of Eli is a well built story about a strong minded man who will do anything and everything just to follow and obey the will of the Lord. However, the cruelty and explicit language used is inappropriate for families. Anyway, I believe it is really meant for adult audiences so maybe in the near future the director would consider releasing the same quality movie that will reach the masses. Philosophical ... • 12. Essay on Foaling Report It is said that the horse is the most insufficient domestic animal at breeding and reproducing. This is largely because breeders have manipulated the gestation periods of the mare so that they are out of season breeders. The gestation length of a mare is in between 335 and 340 days. This leaves little time in the year to successfully rebreed a mare after foaling. Because of this, there needs to be considerable time taken to effectively care for the pregnant or open mare. Nutrition is an early factor in the gestation of the mare, this is then followed by the necessary vaccinations and deworming programs that should be routinely scheduled. The preparations of the stall and the mare are easy to ready for foaling, most can be done well ahead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third trimester is the period of the greatest amount of growth in the fetus, 60 to 65 percent of the growth occurs during this time (Blanchard et al., 2003). For this reason in the last three months of gestation the crude protein content of the total ration should be increased to around nine to ten percent (Blanchard et al., 2003). Another factor that affects the horses ability to attain proper nutrition is the dental health of the mare. The horse s teeth should be examined and or floated every six to twelve months to ensure proper chewing, which in return helps maintain the optimal body condition (Blanchard et al., 2003). Lastly, fescue grass needs to be completely avoided in the diet of the pregnant mare. The fungus found in fescue causes the placenta to thicken and become unusually tough. It can cause a prolonged gestation date, abortion and or dead or weak foals and potentially higher prenatal foal mortality (Reed et al., 2004) Second to nutrition of the mare are vaccinations and deworming programs. Each should be specific to the needs of the farm and even more so, to that of the gestation period of the mare. The point of vaccinating and deworming the mares is to protect the mares from any infectious diseases or parasites that can adversely alter the fetus and, in some cases, cause abortion. • 18. Critical Analysis Of Vanity Fair Critical Analysis The novel Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray is a mystery story of the various kinds of vanity driven people in a city lead by social status. Many, if not all, main characters in one way or another commit a heinous deed in order to feel better about themselves. Their selfishness is almost always the driving force behind all of their motives. This novel perfectly captures Thackerays satirical writing. It pinpoints all the flaws within those that are vain, both low and high class, and often humors himself by inserting witty ways to solve each of the characters problems. Satirical writing is a genre for authors that want to call attention to important topics such as vanity, government, the environment, and much more. There is humor and wit intertwined with the sarcastic remarks of an author. Vanity Fair is one book that covers just how vain all classes can be shown through symbolism, tone, and setting. Thackeray uses the low points in his life as inspiration for his novels and short stories. They are heavily reflected as the themes, topics taught to teach readers and hopefully mold their minds and persuade them in some way. One way he displays these messages is through the symbolism in his writing. As a satirist and moralist, he exposes the incongruity that can be lost between romance and reality (McMaster). It is true that Vanity Fair is deserving of the subtitle A Novel without a Hero because of the unheroic characters selfishly acting for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How will you apply this new knowledge to your future? Abraham Lincoln supported the Civil war as he felt that it was necessary to prevent secession of the Southern States, even though the states had the right to secede. He was against the institution of slavery expanding and he grew up with a family that attended a Baptist church that opposed slavery. Since the founding of the United States, Americans have become dependent upon the existence of raw materials. With the further western expansion, and the increasing population, nonrenewable resources such as oil and coal were in high demand. Although there was a sudden increase in the demand for these resources, the supply of the resource stayed constant. Specifically, conservation highlighted the new idea behind environmentalism, the concern for maintaining the environment. The popularity of conservation came from individuals newfound focus on the environment, as the western frontier had officially been closed.
