Disadvantages Of A Bus Rapid Transit
Transport is an integral part of national, economic, social and sustainable development that can
produce both positive and negative effects on the environment and the quality of life depending on
the level of development and indicated preferences. Transportation is hence crucial for the growth
of any economy and trade, both of which are highly dependent on the conveyance of people and
goods (Rodrigue et.al, 2006). The role of transportation to urban dwellers cannot be overemphasised
as transportation enables employment, education, health services and leisure (Wane, 2001).
Practically the production process cannot be complete unless inputs such as raw materials and
labour can be moved from different locations; neither can manufactured products be delivered to
consumers, nor services carried out which emphasizes the need for an effective transport system
(Rodrigue et.al, 2006).

The Curitiba Bus Model which was proposed by the city planning philosophy of Mayor Jaime
Lerner of the Brazilian city of Curitiba has since been incorporated in other cities as TransMilenio
in Bogota, Columbia; Metrovia in Guayaquil, Ecuador and the Orange Line of Los Angeles where
urban transport and urban growth are incongruous. The essence of a Bus Rapid Transit hence is to
improve bus operating speed and reliability on arterial streets by reducing or eliminating the
various types of delay (Goodman et al, 2005).
The history of public transport development in Sub Saharan Africa differs from one country to
another. However, to date we may affirm that it is a sector which remains poorly organised across
the continent. Many companies were created in various countries, even several times in the same
country, but the vast majority of them have failed. (Addo,

Essay on RFID Tagging
Radio Frequency Identification Detection (RFID) is a technology that involves a silicon chip and
an antenna, which together is called a TAG. The tags emit radio signal to devices that are called
readers. One of the things that is important to know about the Electronic Product Code (EPC) is
that some people use RFIDand EPC interchangeably, but they are different.
Would RFID work to track Products? Well, Bar Codes require a line of sight, so a person(s) with a
bar code reader has to get right up on the bar code and scan it. When you are thinking about a
supply chain, somebody in the warehouse would have to look at every single case. With RFID, all
of the cases on the pallet would be picked up by a single swipe of a reader, even the ones ... Show

The simplest implantable microchip is a miniature passive transponder without any power source. It
stores a permanent, unique identification number that can only be read but not modified. The
transponder then responds by emitting the stored number. These devices are called implantable

Harvard Business School, Article 9 606 096. In this article, the authors examine the dimensions of
challenges that faces healthcare deliver in the US. The major debates are; the healthcare system as
a citizenship right that cannot be alienated, and healthcare as a matter that needed libertarian
approach combining individual responsibility, diversity and competitiveness. The study was based
on secondary data. In the findings, the authors established that the US government spending on
healthcare was $1.9 trillion in 2004, and 34% of the population sought medication in hospitals.

ACA as beneficial in this regard, owing to its integration of the behavioral and medical healthcare,

Bad Decisions, Sad Lives
It s no secret that modern day youth has evolved into something far from what it was 20 30 years
ago. While every growing teen experiences hormonal changes and learns their way to adult hood,
some find this problem easier to cope with than others, unfortunately, many of those others result to
substances such as pain killers, stimulants, and anti depressants to help deal with their struggles as a
teen. Throughout the past two decades increasing numbers of reported deaths and overdoses has
started to trend, many of these reports cases of emotionally distressed teens trying to find some
sense of fulfilment. Statistics of addiction induced deaths, and psychological illnesses such as
anxiety and depression are at an all time high among adolescents in this generation. Dr. Nora D
Volkow, director of the National Institute On Drug Abuse reports that unintentional overdose deaths
involving opioid pain relievers have quadrupled since 1999, and by 2007, outnumbered those
involving heroin and cocaine. Studies have shown that individuals who begin using drugs as
juveniles are at greater risk of becoming addicted compared to those who begin drug use as an adult
due to the immaturity of the teenage brain, particularly of that part of the brain that controls
impulses (MedicineNet). Before contributing to solve this issue we must first look further into the
many causes of why teenagers are becoming addicted.

The Influence Of Music On The Music Of America
The music of America has become very diverse, as it should be, with each person taking and
bringing influences from styles of music in the US and all over the world to create new blends.
With the amount of people in the music industry today a musician who has a different sound than
anybody else will definitely turn a few heads. Some make it bigger than others, but the musictends
to hold a particular sound, especially if the singer uses their roots as an influence in the music.
One such musician that has brought a lot of attention for herself and has created a beautiful blend
of styles is Shakira. She grew up listening to many styles of music, her album Pies Descalzos is an
example of her many influences. As she has continued to create music,

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Transaction...
Recommendation
It is needless to say how a transaction processing system(TPS) is a crucial part of an online store
in this day and age. Its help the online to stay effective when customers are proceeding to
checkout. Therefore we demand a TPS which assists our online store to run smoothly. Having a
satisfying TPS benefits us from receiving payment in a short time so we can deliver goods to
customers as fast as possible. We have set a few criteria like price, reputation, advantages and
disadvantages in finding the most suitable TPS. After putting in serious consideration, we all agree
that Payzer is the best receipt for our online store.
In terms of pricing, Payzer has a more reasonable price among three choices. It aims to provide a
fair deal without any extra fees like annual fees and cancellation fees. Payzer also has a lower
transaction fee than the other two options. Unlike Stripe, which does not refund processing fee
when the company refunds a customer s card. Moreover for partial.ly, which does not help users
to retrieve failed payments. These two TPS have shown a great drawback in terms of pricing.
User friendly is also another reason for us choosing Payzer as the software is easy to use. Most of
the users are impressed by that. The automatic payment feature is very satisfying for companies.
Furthermore, it allows user to customise the program in order to fit their personal needs. When
being Compared to Payzer, Partial.ly shows a great weak point which the customer

The Characteristics Of Early Islamic Art And Early...
Early Christian art had a rough start. It started off not being wanted because it worshiped idols and
that was frowned upon in the early days. Although, as time went on and Christians started realizing
the benefits that art had at conveying their beliefs. The earliest Christian art occurred in the
catacombs, which were underground tombs under the city and they often depicted biblical
symbols like Noah s ark. Architecture also grew during this time, as people got more accepting of
this culture things started picking up. Art became in demand and so did architecture. Before the
spike happened, early Christians didn t have any designated places to worship and as soon as it
became more accepted that changed. Early Christian churches often mimicked roman work because
it was so successful. An example of this was Old St. Peter. Architecture and art weren t the only
thing early Christians used to push Christianityinto the mainstream, music also played a role in the
development Christianity. Early Christian music prohibited instrumental accompaniment of any
kind (Benton and Diyannni 185). This was mainly because it wasn t considered religious it was
considered un religious. As time progressed this was eventually overturned. Early Christian music
often used harps as a background for the scriptures.
Islamic art is very different characteristics than early Christian art. The main difference is the
location. Early Christian art started in one place Jerusalem, but Islamic art came from

Case Study 3:
Benefits for Part Time Workers
Ken Davis
Liberty University
Introduction In this weeks case we have Jackson, Smith and Henderson (JSH) Certified Public
Accountants (CPA) one of the fastest growing CPA firms in the area. The firm has just under 100
employees (Martocchio, 2015, p.260) of which two have requested part time statues. The firm had
already considered hiring additional part time workers, consequently the firm need to make a
Human Resource (HR) decision, to decide when and should the company extend the benefits to part
time workers. Therefore, understanding what the Employment and Labor Laws prior to the offering

When a company is deciding to make an innovative change or extended benefits to part time
employees, strict compliance is required according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the
U.S. Department of Labor (Martocchio, 2015). Tiffani Clement (2011) published an article, Does
my business have to provide part time employees with benefits? she writes about the required
benefits that employers must extend to part time employees. For instance, newly added HR
Director Alan Jones must address whether or not his company can afford to offer extended benefits
to part time employees.
Three Factors for Consideration Bearing in mind some firms are hiring interims, staffing services
and part time employees through temp agencies. It is no surprise in this case that a recent
compensation survey of business in the local geographical area included information about
benefits (Martocchio, 2015). Part time employment are more readily available because it is
considered hidden unemployment, says, Chris Tilly, a professor at UCLA, for instance, if a
person works 20 hours a week, but wants 40 hours, that unfulfilled time is spent unemployed
(Gillespie, 2015). Utilizing the prior options above can save the company money, plus some part
time employees are hired at the entrance level pay, therefore saving the company certain work
benefits. Although, the company may utilize the services of a staffing service and or temp agency,

The Road Survival
The Man and Boy Face Life or Death
Think about living in an empty world, America that has never been seen before: a charcoal
colored buildings, ashes spread across the Earth with the dark, cold sky draping above the trees.
This is the environment that the man and the boy must experience everyday on their prolonged
journey to reach their goal: traveling to the coast where they believe there will be warmer climate
and possible settlers. The boy and the man wonder if struggling to stay alive is really going to be
worth anything. It is worth the man and the boy to fight for survival because they find many
reasons to live. The man thinks survival is important for him and the boy because they believe

scarce moments when they are fighting for their lives. For the man and the boy, every single
day is a fight for survival. The man s will for survival is constant, although he is unable to justify
it or explain where it comes from. Before his wife takes her own life he begs her not to do it, but
she argues that they have no reason to continue living. . (Road) The man has an unexplainable
will to stay alive for as long as he can, even as he starts to physically deteriorate. The man finds
motivation to stay alive by displaying his love and care toward the boy. Cormac McCarthy s novel
The Road stages the same problem of belief from the inside, but The Road is unique in locating
the basis for meaning in the father s love for his son, and even suggesting that this meaning
transcends the father s efforts to affirm and protect his son s life. . (Schaub)

Goodnight Moon Research Paper
Literature has always been a close personal friend. I ve always been surrounded and engrossed with
books. One of the first books I ever read was Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. I must ve
read that book a thousand times when I was little. When I was in preschool my friend and I
comically read along to the book. I credit most of my ability to read early on to my elementary s
school librarian. I remember vividly in kindergarten our librarian teacher holding a book in her
hand showing off the pictures. I was completely enthralled, more so than probably other children
in the class. As time went on and I passed from grade to grade, I started to read books from the
school s library. Most books I read were about tornadoes. I ve always been fascinated with how...

cover picture of a girl in a black dress crying caught my eye. The book was called Fallen by Lauren
Kate, a romantic gothic themed story about fallen angels. It was the first novel I was not forced to
read that I liked and finished. Ever since then I have been a zealous book reader and collector. I
used to read about 100 pages an hour and about 3 or 5 books a week, give or take. On those days, I
seldom came out of my room because I was so wrapped up in what I was reading. Books became a

explore other places and worlds I d never been to. It was a truly an amazing moment in my life.

Urban Land Use And Transportation Planning
Question 1. This approach has several advantages. First, it provides much more spatially
detailed information than traditional data at the aggregate level of planning districts. Hence,
using this disaggregate information, we can suggest policy implications to establish specific
land use and transportation planning. UrbanSim, one of the advanced microsimulation model
developed by University of Washington, uses gridcells of 150*150 meter, which presents
spatially detailed structure and enables researchers to evaluate current urban land use patterns
as well as predict future urban land use change at the micro level. However, a building scale
analysis provides much more benefits because it is a more realistic model and can be easily
combined with current urban big data. For example, if this agent based model is combined with
complex human behaviors data, it can provide much more specific information for predicting
events of an emergency such as a building fire and disasters from earthquake or tsunami. Also, if
this model is combined with information on spatial human activities from mobile phone, it can
provide great benefits for managing spatial and temporal planning for the urban places. More
specifically, we can identify hot spots during daytime and nighttime, which can help to predict
travel demands as well land use demand. Second, with the building scale dataset, we can deal with
a variety of urban problems and issues. For example, energy is one of the big issues in our

outlines that midwives have a duty to women they care for. Midwives need to care for them using

Publication
A publication can be judged in a number of ways. A rigorous selection procedure for publication
of articles, a low approval rate for manuscripts and how often the journal is cited by published
scholars in other journals; (known as the impact factor). These are all influences that lead to
what is seen to be a more superior journal. Consequently this means greater belief in the data
present in the publication. The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) uses statistics to calculate
a journal s impact factor , which as stated is a suggestion of the influence an article exercises on
other researchers in a similar research field (Locke, Silverman, Spirduso, 2010). Other areas that
will indicate the trustworthiness of a publication is the quality of the editorial board. A good board
would consist of researchers that belong to a university and who are experienced in the subject
field of the journal (Locke, Silverman, Spirduso, 2010). Many research journals have a

Real estate investing, whether you re buying residential or commercial property, is not a get rich

Debt Pay down Each month when you make that mortgage payment to the bank, a tiny portion
of it is going to reduce the balance of your loan. Because of the way mortgages are structured, a
normally amortizing loan has a very small amount of debt pay down at the beginning, but if you
do manage to keep the loan in place for a number of years, you ll see that as you get closer to the
end of the loan term, more and more of your principle is being used to retire the debt. Of course,
all this assumes that you have an amortizing loan in the first place. If you have an interest only
loan, your payments will be lower, but you won t benefit from any loan pay down. if you are
planning to hold the property for 5 7 years or less, it makes sense to look at an interest only loan,
since the debt pay down you d accrue during this time is minimal, and it can help your cash flow
to have an interest only loan, as long as interest rate adjustments upward don t increase your
payments sooner than you were expecting and ruin your cash flow. If you plan to hold onto the
property long term, and/or you have a great interest rate, it makes sense to get an accruing loan
that will eventually reduce the balance of your investment loan and make it go away. Make sure
you run the numbers on your real estate investing strategy to see if it makes sense for you to get
a fixed rate loan or an interest only loan. In some cases, it may make sense to refinance your

A Dirty Little Secret Of Leadership Development Essay
A dirty little secret of leadership development is there are few truly new and innovative ideas.
Recently published books, tools, and concepts repackage ideas from decades or centuries ago to
address the needs of twenty first century leaders and organizations. For example, Amazon lists
Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin as
the current best seller in business management and leadership. Willink and Babin s ideas are solid
and their stories are both inspiring and compelling. Nonetheless their concepts are not new.
Academicians, practitioners, and leaders have highlighted these same principles for decades:
check the ego, prioritize and execute, and decisiveness amid uncertainty, to name a select few.
This is not a criticism, rather a reality of the leadership industry. Accordingly my contributions to
the field are not uniquely inventive. Rather I excel at packaging existing ideas in creative, simple,
and applicable ways that address my clients needs and inspire impactful leadership. I recently
shared a set of risktaking tools with a client that demonstrates this skill.
The executive marketing team for a specific product group in a global foods company asked me to
facilitate a strategic offsite, emphasizing leadership agility. The big players in the food industry are
struggling to respond to consumer demands for products that are non GMO, organic, gluten free,

Religion s Role In Failure To Address The Conflict Between...
INTRODUCTION
The Germany s dominating religion is Protestantism Christianity, in which Martin Luther famous
for his theologian philosophies came into picture and made the Protestantism spread greatly across
the Europe. Although there are more less split between the mainstream domination of Lutheran
Protestantism, Calvinism and Roman Catholic, but overall the Germany is being dominated by the
Protestantism Christianity. France Protestantism has a long history in its country. It produced one of
the major figures of the Reformation in John Calvin, and in the late 1590s it very nearly had a
Protestant king. The French Protestants, known as Huguenots, were very strong, at one point
controlling two hundred towns, mainly in southern France. Huguenot influence was waning and it
was evident that France would remain Catholic. This did not prevent the country from siding
Protestant powers during the Thirty Years War, but such alliances were purely political. As with
other countries, the French endured decades of religious warfare and slowly learned to keep
matters of religion from influencing too heavily matters of state. ... Show more content on

Examples Of Porter s Five Forces
Porter s Five Forces Model
Porter s Five Forces are the following: Potential entrants with their threat of entry; Buyers with
bargaining; Suppliers with their bargaining power; Threats of substitutes and Rivalry. I will
describe the Five Forces and how they are helpful in the international area. I will also discuss
their current applications and conclude with the limitations that this model has. The first force to
discuss is the supplier power. This force leads to buyer supplier relationships between firms and
industries. When suppliers are in a position of strength they have influence over the industry that
provides raw materials; their goal is to sell raw materials at a higher price in order to capture some
of the industry s profit. An example of this can be Jewelry stores holding ... Show more content on

When new industry enters the market if throws of the balance, affecting competitions. In theory we
have a free market; meaning any firm can enter and exit the market at will. The reality it s just not
that simple due to barriers of entry. When profits are high many firms what to enter the market
and over time profits will decrease. When the profits begin to decrease then firms begin to exit the
market. Barriers are unique characteristic in the industry to reduce the rate of entry of new firms
into the market. One type of barrier is entry deterring pricing, this is when the price is kept
relatively low to discourage other firms from entering the market. Government barriers are those in
with the government create monopolies through regulations. An example of this type of barrier is
the utility market, in which the government rather have one company providing efficient service.
Other barriers are patents and assets specificity. Exit barriers keep a firm from leaving the markets.
Examples can be that they have specialized assets that difficult to liquidate, high exit cost and

How Is Harry Potter Related To Religion
The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on
the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many layered thing.
(Severus Snape, Book five.) The book series entitled Harry Potter has Biblical themes hidden
beneath all of the spells, charms, and enchantments. Harry Potter, in my own opinion, is very Christ
like and I feel like the book series could be looked at like a modernized version of the bible. He
resembles Jesus Christ in multiple ways. J.K Rowling has subtly featured religious symbolism in
her books such as, Harry dying for the wizarding world much like Jesus died willingly for our sins.

The presence of a phoenix reinforces the underlying theme of conquering death by embracing life,
just like Harry and Jesus did.
Harry and Jesus know a lot about Sacrifice and selflessness. All of the characters in the Harry
Potter series experiences sacrificial love. Hermione Granger, one of Harry s two sidekicks
throughout his school years, has to obliviate her parents minds because she doesn t want them
getting hurt. Her mother and father are both muggles, therefore Voldemort would find them and
murder them. Ronald Weasley, Harry s other sidekick, sacrifices himself in a game of Wizard s
Chess for Hermione and Harry in their first year at Hogwarts. Dobby the house elf, who has saved
Harry s life on many occasion, sacrificed his life to save Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna Lovegood
and Mr. Olivander out of pure love and friendship. Harry s mother and father, Lily and James
Potter, sacrificed their selves for their only son just like Jesus Christ sacrificed his body for us and
he sacrificed his life on earth for us. Both Harry and Jesus did such a selfless thing for the people
they loved and cared for.
Every character from the bible resembles a person from the bible. Harry resembles Jesus because

Panda Persuasive Speech
Have you ever heard of an Ailuropoda Melanoleuca? Most likely not, but I bet you have heard of
a panda bear. Both are correct ways of recognizing the animal, one just sounds a little fancier. The
panda bear has been around for approximately three million years and we are still learning new
things about them all the time. Pandas may seem like very boring creatures because of their lack
of activity during their lifetimes, but they are actually extremely fascinating and not to mention
very adorable. We ve all had a time where we ve seen a cute, little, baby panda at the zoo and
thought, I want one! . There are so many interesting facts about pandas that everyone should know.
You will be learning about the background of pandas, why their population... Show more content on

The population of pandas has been decreasing rapidly since 1990. Habitat loss and poaching are
the two major reasons for the pandas becoming on the brink of extinction. Humans have been
destroying the forests in which pandas live for decades now, causing them to have to relocate to
regions they were not familiar with. Losing their natural habitat meant that they also lost their
main food source. Pandas would starve causing hundreds to die. The loss of their home also left
them extremely vulnerable to predators in the new area. All of the little effects of pandas losing
their habitat are what caused a major drop in their population. The second biggest reason for the
decline in their population is poaching. Hunters and poachers target pandas mainly for their big
fur coats. Poaching is illegal everywhere and is a big reason for population decrease for other
animals as well. The third reason for the drop in pandas is their inability to reproduce quickly.
The female pandas are only fertile once a year for a period of two or three days. They usually
only have one pup and that pup stays with the mother for at least two years. After that, the panda
is on its own. However, female pandas only need to be about 5 years old before they can start
reproducing, but the catch is males have to be about 7 years old. The demand for baby pandas is
extremely high so that the population to grow, but the time it takes to do so is hurting the
population more. With all that said, the population of the panda bear is decreasing faster than it is
increasing, which is a major problem that many organizations are working to figure out a

The Greatest Physical Of Sports
People love to watch, play, and enjoy sports or cheering for teams. In the majority of sports that
are physical and require a lot of contact that could potentially cause injuries. The most physical of
sports such as hockey, soccer, football, and boxing can make the people who care about them
worried for their health. Some people don t understand that the helmet the playerswear don t always

by having your brain constantly hit your skull. The NFL should take more necessary precautions
every time a playersuffers from damage. There is are diseases called CTE which means chronic
traumatic encephalopathy players get playing that turn into medical bills need to be paid for by the
NFL because players often are pressured to ignore the symptoms of a concussion and go back out
to play. Players should be aware of the consequences and risk that can occur when they make these
decisions. I believe that they should study about what can actually happen to their health so that
they can prevent getting concussions and acknowledge the negative effects.
These days most athletes worry about how big their pay checks going to be than actually caring
what s on the scoreboard. A good of players know that if they aren t actually playing the game then
they are not getting paid. If they always keep this concept in their heads than most players will

Losing Sight Analysis
William Kraft, a musical composer and conductor, once said, When you go to the theater, if you
re really involved in the play, you don t think about it you re in it. This quote from William Kraft
is especially true for the One Act plays I attended. The smaller theater space and closer proximity
to the stage allowed you to more involved in the playthan if you were seated farther away. In the
following response, a synopsis and critique of three of the plays I saw will be given.
The first act of the night was a play titled Losing Sight. To summarize this play, there was a talented
painter with diminishing vision. Because of his impending blindness, the painter tried to seclude
himself from and push away all his family and friends. With the help of his deceased grandfather
and ex girlfriend, the painter learned to accept his fate and return to life in the company of others.
The plot of Losing Sight is constructed around the painter s search for a new identity after his old
identity, which was found in painting, was taken from him. The plot follows a normal plot
structure beginning with an exposition and ending with a resolution. The three characters in the
play worked off each other nicely. The painter brought seriousness and sadness to the play while
the grandfather added a comedic side to the play that kept it from feeling overwhelmingly
depressing. The third character in the play was the painter s ex girlfriend who gave the painter

from the Ionian Revolt. Ionia was a Greek city state under the control of the Persians. Around

Contrary to what many people believe, America s health status is not quite up to par, to say the

15% of our nation s population! At first this disturbing truth seems impossible to believe, being as
America is one of the most technologically advanced and economically developed countries in the
world. We spend trillions of dollars per year on medical care. That s nearly half of all the health
dollars spent in the world. But we ve seen our statistics. We live shorter, often sicker lives than

district, beginning with district 16, Jim Taylor s district. District 16 has an average combined
household income of approximately $120,000/ annually. In this district, 65% of the population
has a college degree and the life expectancy in this district is 82 years. Whereas, Tondra Young s
district, district 24, has an average combined household income of $70,000/annually and 15% of

she is not as bad as she really is. This is something they clearly do not do often. This is apparent
because the narrator says It is very seldom that mere ordinary people like John and [the narrator]

were going just out of town for a summer vacation, it would be an odd time. In her article,
Quawas noticed that John not only kept his wife from her family and friends, but he chooses the
room farthest away from Jennie and the servants as well: He isolates his wife in the upstairs

Sex Allocation And The Reproductive Organs
Sex allocation refers to the amount of parental resources assigned to male versus female offspring
in a sexually reproducing species {Charnov:1982wg, Brunet:1992fg,West:2010ws} and the extent
of this allocation in the organism s fitness. In angiosperms, the flowers are the reproductive organs,
but opposite to most animals, the presence of maleand femaleorgans varies among species resulting
in a large diversity of breeding systems. Those breeding systems are defined on the basis of the
presence and fertility of male or female reproductive organs either in the same flower or in the same
individual. Then, breeding systems can be categorized as monomorphic, when individuals have

Darwin developed the first approach to the studying of sex allocation in plants when differences
in sex ratio in dioecious and gynodioecious species generated a problem for the theory of natural
selection {Darwin:1877fw, West:2010ws}. Later, {Fisher:1930wy} stated a widespread
mathematical explanation where sex ratio would be stabilized due that each individual has a
mother and a father and that natural selection would favor the offspring with the rare sex in the
population {Carnov:1982wg}. The main foundations include i. when the female and the male
offspring have equal reproductive cost to produce, natural selection will act to balance the sex
ratio of the population ii. Parents producing a high number of the cheaper offspring to produce will
be favored in their relative fitness. iii. natural selection favors the rarer sex {West:2010ws,

Exit Through The Gift Shop Essay
When watching movies, one can usually decipher what is fake and what is real, as well as, who
is acting and who is not. Whether that be through exaggerated effects, poor acting, or previous
knowledge, one can decide early on if the film being viewed is factual or fabricated. However, Exit
Through the Gift Shop, a filmdirected by street artist Banksy, has left many viewers unsure if the
film is an authentic documentary or merely a mockumentary. While some elements of the movie
contain truthful content, it can be concluded that the film as a whole is a mockumentary, and
just another one of Banksy s notorious pranks. One of the first giveaways that the film is fake is
by Thierry Guetta, the apparent Los Angeles filmmaker, who is the focal point of the entire
documentary. Guetta has a wife and children in Los Angeles that he leaves for long periods of
time over the course of many years. One would think that his would be struggling to make ends
meet on Guetta s virtually non existent salary. Guetta also had a very odd personality. With what
seemed like no care in the world, he was able to leave his family behind and take part in illegal
activity for years. Not only that, Guetta also was strangely obsessed with Banksy; many people

Analyze Rape As A Tool Of War
Analyze Rape as a tool of war under light of decisions by ICTY and the ICTR?
Rape is one of the most horrific things to happen anyone during wartime. If one studies the role
of rape in war it will include rape both as a consequence of war and method of war. Many cultures
have a stigma to rape and those who are raped are shunned by their communities. Rape is used
because it indicates dominance. Women have been victims of various forms of sexual violenceover
the years but rape only became a war crime around the 1990s.The Serb forces for example raped
around 20,000 to 50,000 women in the Bosnian war apart from using usual warfare methods of

The Hague convention respecting the customs and laws of war on land does state in part that
the family honor and rights, the life of person must be respected. Before the decisions of the
ICTY and ICTR rape was prohibited by the Geneva Convention in 1949 after the Second World
War the provisions regarding rape were meant to protect the honor of women .Rape is also
especially prohibited in 1997 Protocol additional to the Geneva Conventions. These coincided with
shifting perceptions that men did not use rape because they were deprived of female
companionship during war time but instead they used it as a war tactic. As rape was not an issue in
Nuremburg trials that played an important part in setting precedents for issues of war crimes in
international law so it took a long time for rape to be made a part of international law. Though the
Article 27 of the fourth Geneva Convention prohibited rape it was more of a symbolic gesture
because the world community did not pay sufficient attention to the issue until 1990s. With the
coming of the twentieth century and especially after the World War two human rights protection
has gained much importance but rape did receive much attention compared to other atrocities till
the Bosnian war. Rape is now treated as war crime and crime against humanity. The incidents of
Rape in Yugoslavia caught the attention of the world

This city s history has been written, erased, and rewritten throughout this violent century. Its
legibility relies as much on visible markers of built space as on images and memories repressed and

Philip Freneau And Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Summary
Life was a prominent subject in nineteenth century literature. Poems, books, and even everyday
conversations contemplated the topic. From exploring its meaning, its purpose, and its impact,
individuals were obsessed with it. Two such pundits were Philip Freneau and Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow. They accepted the challenge and broached the subject of life in their poetry. Their
perspectives, however, were anything but concurrent. By focusing on Freneau s The Wild
Honey Suckle and Longfellow s A Psalm of Life the authors contrasting views become
exceptionally clear. While one valued humility and acknowledgment of human fragility, the other
sought to spark ambition and enliven a sense of dutiful perseverance. Paying close attention to
the time frame in which each author wrote is also significant in identifying the reason behind
such differing perspectives. Not only does the era play a part, but also each writer s personal
beliefs and values. Freneau was extremely realistic and literal; Longfellow was optimistic and
indicative. Taking an in depth look at each author respectively and analyzing their contrasting
opinions as well as their reasoning facilitates a deeper understanding of not only the writers but
the works themselves. If one thing is agreed upon, it s that life truly is short; however, its purpose
is entirely subject to opinion. Philip Freneau possesses a very stark view on man s existence,
harping upon the insignificance of human life in his poem, The Wild Honey

Both the scholarly community and the public alike recognize Jane Erye as a feminist classic, a

that riddled Victorian English society. Indeed, the rise of the character Jane Eyre from a

husband needs her as much as, possibly even more, than she needs him, appears on the surface
to be a tale meant to empower any female. However, there is a limit to how much light Charlotte
BrontГ« deigns to shed, and its feeble rays fall short of a dank, gloomy, and locked room on the
third floor of Thornfield Hall. In The Maniac Bellowed : Queer Affect and Queer Temporality in
Charlotte BrontГ« s Jane Eyre, Carolyn Marjorie Davis asserts that the arms of BrontГ« s feminism
do not embrace women who fail to fulfill certain standards of domesticity and femininity, namely,
they do not embrace Bertha Mason, the mad and muscular, foreign and forgotten wife of Edward
Rochester. Davis analyzes how the elements of queerness, in the form of gender nonconformity, in
Bertha s character, as well as her ethnic background, make her intolerably other in relation to the
gender conforming, Angelo Saxon characters, and claims that the incarceration and eventual death
of Bertha represent Charlotte BrontГ« s own imperialistic and hegemonic prejudices. A careful

Brief History of the Nra
Brief History of the NRA
The National Rifle Association in its simplest form is the largest gun club in the world. The
organization was founded in 1871 by former Union Army officers to encourage sport shooting in
order to have a fine tuned militia in case of emergency. The Union officers believed that a well
regulated militia was integral for the security of a free state. It is an organization that opposes gun
control, it believes in the individual defense of the uses of firearms, and it is interested in all
aspects of shooting sports.1 Today, the organization stands with approximately 3.4 million members.
Within the NRA, there are four major organs. The Institute for Legislative
Action (is the lobbying arm), the political Victory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eighteen states and the District of Columbia were exempt from the 5 day wait since they already
had gun delaying measures in place.
These states and D.C. account for 63% of all violent crimes; including 58% of all murders.9
California which is exempt because it has a 15 day waiting period, has more murders and violent
crimes than any other state. New York which is also exempt due to a licensing law has the second
greatest number of murders and other violent crimes.10 Since the bill was enacted, only 22 states
are subject to the 5 day wait. The Brady bill serves to be irrelevant in most violent crimes anyway.
Seven out of ten violent crimes are not committed with firearms.
90% of rapes, 59% of robberies, and 76% of assaults are committed with knives, clubs, feet, or a
person s fists. According to the FBI, approximately 10,000 murders are committed each year
without firearms.11
Gun Control is Not the Answer
With the evidence that has just been documented, gun control is not the answer to stopping crime, it
only serves to delay one s constitutional right to possess a handgun. The Brady Act infringes one s
right to own a firearm according to the Second Amendment of the Constitution. It says that a well
regulated militia, being

What Is The Importance Of Industrial Relations
Introduction In this era of globalization, there is significant change in new age competitive world.
The only way is through the learning adapting with environment change within an organization in
order to be able survived among rivalries. As different parties have different ideologies and self
interests, disputes often happen around the organization and cooperation is needed from each party
in order to attain the common benefits and thus pursuit to broader goals (Parasuraman, 2004). This
process of bargaining and cooperation relationships among different parties is occurred within a
system called industrial relations (IR). As briefly describe, a success IR system can resolve

The contributions of industrial relations toward the organization including reduce company
wastage, reduce the occurrence of disputes, and achieve organizational goals (Importance of
Industrial Relations, n.d.). First, IR reduces company wastages. IR helps to maintain the
cooperation and recognition between employer and employees. Thus, both parties reach a
consensus in common interests and sharing benefits. Thus, the production flow will not be
interrupted and the resources can be fully utilized. Eventually, this will maximize the production
without wastages. Besides that, IR assists organization to avoid or reduce industrial disputes. This
goal can be achieved through collective bargaining. Collective bargaining is the written agreement
between trade union and an employer about terms and conditions of work and employment of the
union members (Parasuraman, 2004). In the process of collective bargaining, the dialogue and
communication from both sides will reflect the fundamental human urges or motivations that
contribute to satisfaction (Importance of Industrial Relations, n.d.). As a result, the understanding
of each other fosters cooperation and reduces disputes

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Candidiasis
6.Discussion Vulvovaginal candidiasis is one of the most prevalent vaginal infections and
represents, approximately 40% 50% of all cases of infectious vulvovaginitis . Most episodes of
symptomatic disease are acute attacks of VVC. While some women suffer from daily and
chronic symptoms of the disease (CVVC), others suffer from recurrent episodes being entirely
free between the episodes (RVVC). Therefore, the definition of RVVC requires occurrence of at
least 3 symptomatic episodes of VVC in the previous 12 months, although some investigators
require 4 symptomatic episodes . Vaginal colonization by Candida spp. occurs in low numbers and
follows adherence of Candida to vaginal ECs. Colonization can persist for months or years in
healthy women not susceptible to RVVC where Candida lives in symbiotic relationship with
vaginal microbiota. The breakdown of this relationship results in symptomatic infection and
originates from either favored overgrowth of Candida or defect in host defense mechanisms . Both
subjective health status and health related quality of life are markedly reduced during and in
between episodes in women with RVVC even in those receiving long term antifungal therapy as
recommended by guidelines . Besides, the chronic use of ketoconazole can result in significant side
effects such as liver toxicity which is not seen with the more tolerated antifungal agent; fluconazole.
However, long term therapy with fluconazole although reduce the rate of RVVC was not

Mickey Research Paper
Over the years, animation has taken leaps and bounds to be where it is today. Especially Disney
Animation Studios, who have produced current movies like Tangled and Frozen, which rely solely
on computer rendering, display the latest in animation technology. But when one thinks of Disney
animation, one thing comes to mind always. Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse is the icon of Disney
animation, and rose quickly in popularity among the audience of the world. Mickey is an icon,
and can be identified by anyone anywhere due to how influential he is. But how did he come to
be? Mickey has advanced greatly over the years, and has led many of the strides in improvements
in animation and cinema, starting back in 1928. In test cartoons by Walt Disney, Mickey... Show

With the transition to color, the cartoon never looked back, and never was produced in black and
white again. Also, the style of Mickey himself was changed after this cartoon, with his eyes
changing from black dots to more expressive eyes over time, and his body became more flexible
where his joints lost their angularity (Frank). With these improvements, it became easier to
incorporate more emotion into the cartoons, and therefore make the cartoons more in depth. From
personal observation, I saw the improvements from prior cartoons being that the animation was
much more fluid, with Mickey s arms and other characters movements overall being decently fluid
and continuous. Another thing that is still a main factor of the cartoon is the use of music. The
music is the main driving force of the cartoon, and they do well at incorporating the music into the
comedy, and incorporating different characters with different musical styles and intentions. This
can be seen between Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Mickey being the conductor and Donald
playing a flute to agitate Mickey. Beside the point, the cartoon is advanced compared to Steamboat
Willie, and it still imitates the use of repetitive movements for the characters in the shot (Mickey).
This increases the value of the comedy and helps the viewers interpret the situation on the screen.
This introduction to Technicolor along with the integration of synchronized sound leads to the next
milestone,

The Five Stages Of Listening
There are five stages of listening, receiving, understanding, remembering, evaluating, and
responding. The five stages overlap. In receiving, you need to focus your attention, maintain your
role and avoid assuming that you understand. In understanding, it is important that you see the
speaker s messages from their point of view. It is also helpful to rephrase their message to be clear
and also ask questions to clarify or confirm that you understand their message. The third stage is
remembering, you need to focus on the main idea, organize what you hear, combine what you knew
previously and repeat important information to yourself such as names and information. Next is
evaluating, you should wait until you fully understand what the speaker... Show more content on

My mother then, closes her laptop and asks my father to repeat his question. She heard: what was
the bill and how much was the car door. Not at all what he said. In this case, the TV, dishwasher
and laptop affected my mother s ability to hear, which was the physical noise. Her distraction with
Facebook, was the mental distraction. My mother could have said, please turn the TV down, and
looked directly at my father while he spoke. She did neither, until she ask him to repeat his
question. She only did this after, she questioned his response (this time, he did turn the TV down
and she had his full attention). My second example, is lack of appropriate focus. In this example,
my mother is discussing our next Florida trip with me. She begins by telling me that we are going
to Universal Studios (which is my favorite Florida destination). Apparently, she next told me that
we were staying at The Art of Animation Resort (which is a Disney resort). As she is talking, in
my head, I am running through all the things at Universal I want to do, and I know that they have
added some additional Christmas attractions, so I am visioning how that will look. I focus back on
her, and she is telling me about the room at the resort. I say, did they change the hotelat Universal?
She said, no, we are staying that the Disney resort not the Universal resort this time. I totally

Meaning Of Confessional Poetry
Confessional Poetry was the term given to the works of a group of American poets including
Robert Lowell, Anne Sexton, John Berryman, Sylvia Plath, W. D. Snodgrass, and less often
Theodore Roethke and Allen Ginsberg who were writing verse in the late nineteen fifties and
sixties. This label, confessional, was so named misnamed by critic M. L. Rosenthal in a 1959
review of Robert Lowell s Life Studies, because of the personal voice and colloquial style the
volume presented which was unlike the formality of Lowell s previous collections. For their subject
matter these poets used parts of life not ordinarily presented in the public domain, such as frank
revelations about marital infidelities, experiences with drug and alcohol addictions, mental
breakdowns, and suicideattempts. Yet Rosenthal s term, confessional, radically simplified the work
that it labeled. Not only did many famous figures such as Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, and John
Berryman committed suicide in this school but also used their poems as a public forum for
engaging in literal and philosophical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contemplating her own feelings and reasons for suicide, Sylvia Plath weighs how to emerge, and
learn, from her own death wish: How is it done? Talking and becoming aware of what is what and
studying it is a help 102. In fact, Plath s most successful poems are spoken by personas who
address their survival of attempted suicide. It is her speakers that wish to die and so defiantly
fail at completing their own suicides that interest me most. The speaker of the poem Lady
Lazarus infamously claims that Dying / is an art, and it is Plath s artistry of suicide which makes
her poetry so successful.103 Her speakers are perfected in their inability to die thus, Plath s
success of the failed

Normalization Through Montessori Method
Explain how normalization occurs including changes in the work cycle.
Describe the normalized child.
Dr. Montessori used the term normalization to distinguish one of the processes that she saw in her
work with the children at San Lorenzo in Rome. This process, the process of normalization, occurs
when development is proceeding normally. She used the word normalization as she believed that
these wonderful traits, these impressive qualities belonged to all children and was not a
characteristic found only in some children.
Through her work at Casa dei Bambini, Dr. Montessori observed an extraordinary change in her
students. When the children first came to her school, they were completely traumatized. Neither

The movement and the thought involved in the preparation of the mind to begin to focus on the
activity. The activity which so engrosses the childthat he reaches a deep level of concentration, and
then the time a child in putting away the materials, perhaps talking with friends, and is exhibiting
an aura of satisfaction with him and the world. We recognize this cycle as the normal В‘cycle of
activity in a Montessori environment.
Experience has shown the disappearance of many childish traits through Normalization. Children
usually have a fickle mind and move from one toy to the next. Their minds seem to wander about
and they constantly seem preoccupied within themselves. They are unable to take on work or
any activity for longer than perhaps an hour. Dr. Montessori recognizes these traits along with
others as deviations or defensiveness. However once a child is offered a task that is practical and
requires concentration, if a child is trusted to do something that is realistic and requires
responsibility, given the freedom of choice, the freedom of doing work suited to his or her own
needs, they then reveal not only their capacity for intellectual accomplishment but a strange
character of sweetness and serenity. As they work, they grow in inner discipline and peace. An
interesting piece of work, freely

  • 2. Disadvantages Of A Bus Rapid Transit Transport is an integral part of national, economic, social and sustainable development that can produce both positive and negative effects on the environment and the quality of life depending on the level of development and indicated preferences. Transportation is hence crucial for the growth of any economy and trade, both of which are highly dependent on the conveyance of people and goods (Rodrigue et.al, 2006). The role of transportation to urban dwellers cannot be overemphasised as transportation enables employment, education, health services and leisure (Wane, 2001). Practically the production process cannot be complete unless inputs such as raw materials and labour can be moved from different locations; neither can manufactured products be delivered to consumers, nor services carried out which emphasizes the need for an effective transport system (Rodrigue et.al, 2006). The essence of a Bus Rapid Transit hence is to improve bus operating speed and reliability on arterial streets by reducing or eliminating the various types of delay (Goodman et al, 2005). The history of public transport development in Sub Saharan Africa differs from one country to another. However, to date we may affirm that it is a sector which remains poorly organised across the continent. Many companies were created in various countries, even several times in the same country, but the vast majority of them have failed. (Addo, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The tags emit radio signal to devices that are called readers. One of the things that is important to know about the Electronic Product Code (EPC) is that some people use RFIDand EPC interchangeably, but they are different. Would RFID work to track Products? Well, Bar Codes require a line of sight, so a person(s) with a bar code reader has to get right up on the bar code and scan it. When you are thinking about a supply chain, somebody in the warehouse would have to look at every single case. With RFID, all of the cases on the pallet would be picked up by a single swipe of a reader, even the ones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bad Decisions, Sad Lives Cortney Vanderburg Dr. Young English 1020 22 March, 2016 Bad Decisions, Sad Lives It s no secret that modern day youth has evolved into something far from what it was 20 30 years ago. While every growing teen experiences hormonal changes and learns their way to adult hood, some find this problem easier to cope with than others, unfortunately, many of those others result to substances such as pain killers, stimulants, and anti depressants to help deal with their struggles as a teen. Throughout the past two decades increasing numbers of reported deaths and overdoses has started to trend, many of these reports cases of emotionally distressed teens trying to find some sense of fulfilment. Statistics of addiction induced deaths, and psychological illnesses such as anxiety and depression are at an all time high among adolescents in this generation. Dr. Nora D Volkow, director of the National Institute On Drug Abuse reports that unintentional overdose deaths involving opioid pain relievers have quadrupled since 1999, and by 2007, outnumbered those involving heroin and cocaine. Studies have shown that individuals who begin using drugs as juveniles are at greater risk of becoming addicted compared to those who begin drug use as an adult due to the immaturity of the teenage brain, particularly of that part of the brain that controls impulses (MedicineNet). Before contributing to solve this issue we must first look further into the many causes of why teenagers are becoming addicted. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its help the online to stay effective when customers are proceeding to checkout. Therefore we demand a TPS which assists our online store to run smoothly. Having a satisfying TPS benefits us from receiving payment in a short time so we can deliver goods to customers as fast as possible. We have set a few criteria like price, reputation, advantages and disadvantages in finding the most suitable TPS. After putting in serious consideration, we all agree that Payzer is the best receipt for our online store. In terms of pricing, Payzer has a more reasonable price among three choices. It aims to provide a fair deal without any extra fees like annual fees and cancellation fees. Payzer also has a lower transaction fee than the other two options. Unlike Stripe, which does not refund processing fee when the company refunds a customer s card. Moreover for partial.ly, which does not help users to retrieve failed payments. These two TPS have shown a great drawback in terms of pricing. User friendly is also another reason for us choosing Payzer as the software is easy to use. Most of the users are impressed by that. The automatic payment feature is very satisfying for companies. Furthermore, it allows user to customise the program in order to fit their personal needs. It started off not being wanted because it worshiped idols and that was frowned upon in the early days. Although, as time went on and Christians started realizing the benefits that art had at conveying their beliefs. The earliest Christian art occurred in the catacombs, which were underground tombs under the city and they often depicted biblical symbols like Noah s ark. Architecture also grew during this time, as people got more accepting of this culture things started picking up. Art became in demand and so did architecture. Before the spike happened, early Christians didn t have any designated places to worship and as soon as it became more accepted that changed. Early Christian churches often mimicked roman work because it was so successful. An example of this was Old St. Peter. Architecture and art weren t the only thing early Christians used to push Christianityinto the mainstream, music also played a role in the development Christianity. Early Christian music prohibited instrumental accompaniment of any kind (Benton and Diyannni 185). This was mainly because it wasn t considered religious it was considered un religious. When a company is deciding to make an innovative change or extended benefits to part time employees, strict compliance is required according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the U.S. Department of Labor (Martocchio, 2015). Tiffani Clement (2011) published an article, Does my business have to provide part time employees with benefits? she writes about the required benefits that employers must extend to part time employees. For instance, newly added HR Director Alan Jones must address whether or not his company can afford to offer extended benefits to part time employees. Three Factors for Consideration Bearing in mind some firms are hiring interims, staffing services and part time employees through temp agencies. It is no surprise in this case that a recent compensation survey of business in the local geographical area included information about benefits (Martocchio, 2015). Part time employment are more readily available because it is considered hidden unemployment, says, Chris Tilly, a professor at UCLA, for instance, if a person works 20 hours a week, but wants 40 hours, that unfulfilled time is spent unemployed (Gillespie, 2015). Utilizing the prior options above can save the company money, plus some part time employees are hired at the entrance level pay, therefore saving the company certain work benefits. One of the first books I ever read was Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. I must ve read that book a thousand times when I was little. When I was in preschool my friend and I comically read along to the book. I credit most of my ability to read early on to my elementary s school librarian. I remember vividly in kindergarten our librarian teacher holding a book in her hand showing off the pictures. I was completely enthralled, more so than probably other children in the class. • 13. Urban Land Use And Transportation Planning Question 1. This approach has several advantages. First, it provides much more spatially detailed information than traditional data at the aggregate level of planning districts. Hence, using this disaggregate information, we can suggest policy implications to establish specific land use and transportation planning. UrbanSim, one of the advanced microsimulation model developed by University of Washington, uses gridcells of 150*150 meter, which presents spatially detailed structure and enables researchers to evaluate current urban land use patterns as well as predict future urban land use change at the micro level. However, a building scale analysis provides much more benefits because it is a more realistic model and can be easily combined with current urban big data. For example, if this agent based model is combined with complex human behaviors data, it can provide much more specific information for predicting events of an emergency such as a building fire and disasters from earthquake or tsunami. Also, if this model is combined with information on spatial human activities from mobile phone, it can provide great benefits for managing spatial and temporal planning for the urban places. More specifically, we can identify hot spots during daytime and nighttime, which can help to predict travel demands as well land use demand. Second, with the building scale dataset, we can deal with a variety of urban problems and issues. For example, energy is one of the big issues in our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of the way mortgages are structured, a normally amortizing loan has a very small amount of debt pay down at the beginning, but if you do manage to keep the loan in place for a number of years, you ll see that as you get closer to the end of the loan term, more and more of your principle is being used to retire the debt. Of course, all this assumes that you have an amortizing loan in the first place. If you have an interest only loan, your payments will be lower, but you won t benefit from any loan pay down. if you are planning to hold the property for 5 7 years or less, it makes sense to look at an interest only loan, since the debt pay down you d accrue during this time is minimal, and it can help your cash flow to have an interest only loan, as long as interest rate adjustments upward don t increase your payments sooner than you were expecting and ruin your cash flow. If you plan to hold onto the property long term, and/or you have a great interest rate, it makes sense to get an accruing loan that will eventually reduce the balance of your investment loan and make it go away. Habitat loss and poaching are the two major reasons for the pandas becoming on the brink of extinction. Humans have been destroying the forests in which pandas live for decades now, causing them to have to relocate to regions they were not familiar with. Losing their natural habitat meant that they also lost their main food source. Pandas would starve causing hundreds to die. The loss of their home also left them extremely vulnerable to predators in the new area. All of the little effects of pandas losing their habitat are what caused a major drop in their population. The second biggest reason for the decline in their population is poaching. Hunters and poachers target pandas mainly for their big fur coats. Poaching is illegal everywhere and is a big reason for population decrease for other animals as well. The third reason for the drop in pandas is their inability to reproduce quickly. The female pandas are only fertile once a year for a period of two or three days. They usually only have one pup and that pup stays with the mother for at least two years. After that, the panda is on its own. However, female pandas only need to be about 5 years old before they can start reproducing, but the catch is males have to be about 7 years old. The demand for baby pandas is extremely high so that the population to grow, but the time it takes to do so is hurting the population more. The smaller theater space and closer proximity to the stage allowed you to more involved in the playthan if you were seated farther away. In the following response, a synopsis and critique of three of the plays I saw will be given. The first act of the night was a play titled Losing Sight. With the help of his deceased grandfather and ex girlfriend, the painter learned to accept his fate and return to life in the company of others. The plot of Losing Sight is constructed around the painter s search for a new identity after his old identity, which was found in painting, was taken from him. The plot follows a normal plot structure beginning with an exposition and ending with a resolution. The three characters in the play worked off each other nicely. Insulin Shock Therapy however has been replaced by newer and more effective medications. The Typical Antipsychotics are the pink pills that Nash takes after his hospitalization. He says these medications make it hard for him to focus and he cannot respond to his wife so he stops taking them. This only causes further pain when Nash s hallucinations all come back. Nash eventually learns how to cope with these hallucinations and just ignores them. In conclusion, the movie A Beautiful Mind is a very inspirational film that fills the audience with awe and intrigue as they watch Nash learn to live with schizophrenia and attempt to remain a viable part of ... • 39. Children s Center Preschool Room For My Prosocial... I went to Keiki Hau oli Children s Center preschool room for my prosocial observation assignment. During my visit, it was indoor free play time, meanwhile teachers were offering breakfast. The schedule is not rush, they can play indoor and outdoor with free choices for one hour. First, the room was organized by the section. Each section has double or multiple amount of toys for children to play with their friends. For example, on a shelf, there are three baby dolls and their matching clothes. Children interact each other by asking questions such as, Baby is hungry. What can I do? Another childsaid, I will show you. She used her baby bottle to pretend feeding a baby. There is big open floor space in the back of the room for the children to play freely. Children were playing with blocks and cars on that open floor. Some were playing with Kapla on a low table with one caregiver. Other children were sitting at the carpet, listening a story. Children play peacefully because there are variety of activity choices they can play. Two things if I am able to change, I will change the floor arrangement and add more books. First, I will move free floor space from back of the room to the middle close to the entrance because I can hear them well, so I could interact with them more. I like ocean, nature, and Hawaiian culture area. They display nicely, but they are not create any prosocial environment. I display more attractive to the children. I will put books related with ... • 40. Philip Freneau And Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Summary Life was a prominent subject in nineteenth century literature. Poems, books, and even everyday conversations contemplated the topic. From exploring its meaning, its purpose, and its impact, individuals were obsessed with it. Two such pundits were Philip Freneau and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They accepted the challenge and broached the subject of life in their poetry. Their perspectives, however, were anything but concurrent. By focusing on Freneau s The Wild Honey Suckle and Longfellow s A Psalm of Life the authors contrasting views become exceptionally clear. While one valued humility and acknowledgment of human fragility, the other sought to spark ambition and enliven a sense of dutiful perseverance. Paying close attention to the time frame in which each author wrote is also significant in identifying the reason behind such differing perspectives. Not only does the era play a part, but also each writer s personal beliefs and values. Freneau was extremely realistic and literal; Longfellow was optimistic and indicative. Taking an in depth look at each author respectively and analyzing their contrasting opinions as well as their reasoning facilitates a deeper understanding of not only the writers but the works themselves. If one thing is agreed upon, it s that life truly is short; however, its purpose is entirely subject to opinion. Philip Freneau possesses a very stark view on man s existence, harping upon the insignificance of human life in his poem, The Wild Honey ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. ##er Affect And Queer Temporality In Charlotte Bronte s... Both the scholarly community and the public alike recognize Jane Erye as a feminist classic, a bold social commentary penned by a daring woman intent on shedding light on the hypocrisy that riddled Victorian English society. Indeed, the rise of the character Jane Eyre from a suppressed and maltreated orphan to a woman capable of grasping at independence and whose husband needs her as much as, possibly even more, than she needs him, appears on the surface to be a tale meant to empower any female. However, there is a limit to how much light Charlotte BrontГ« deigns to shed, and its feeble rays fall short of a dank, gloomy, and locked room on the third floor of Thornfield Hall. In The Maniac Bellowed : Queer Affect and Queer Temporality in Charlotte BrontГ« s Jane Eyre, Carolyn Marjorie Davis asserts that the arms of BrontГ« s feminism do not embrace women who fail to fulfill certain standards of domesticity and femininity, namely, they do not embrace Bertha Mason, the mad and muscular, foreign and forgotten wife of Edward Rochester. Davis analyzes how the elements of queerness, in the form of gender nonconformity, in Bertha s character, as well as her ethnic background, make her intolerably other in relation to the gender conforming, Angelo Saxon characters, and claims that the incarceration and eventual death of Bertha represent Charlotte BrontГ« s own imperialistic and hegemonic prejudices. The organization was founded in 1871 by former Union Army officers to encourage sport shooting in order to have a fine tuned militia in case of emergency. The Union officers believed that a well regulated militia was integral for the security of a free state. It is an organization that opposes gun control, it believes in the individual defense of the uses of firearms, and it is interested in all aspects of shooting sports.1 Today, the organization stands with approximately 3.4 million members. New York which is also exempt due to a licensing law has the second greatest number of murders and other violent crimes.10 Since the bill was enacted, only 22 states are subject to the 5 day wait. According to the FBI, approximately 10,000 murders are committed each year without firearms.11 Gun Control is Not the Answer With the evidence that has just been documented, gun control is not the answer to stopping crime, it only serves to delay one s constitutional right to possess a handgun. • 44. Symptoms And Treatment Of A Candidiasis 6.Discussion Vulvovaginal candidiasis is one of the most prevalent vaginal infections and represents, approximately 40% 50% of all cases of infectious vulvovaginitis . Most episodes of symptomatic disease are acute attacks of VVC. While some women suffer from daily and chronic symptoms of the disease (CVVC), others suffer from recurrent episodes being entirely free between the episodes (RVVC). Therefore, the definition of RVVC requires occurrence of at least 3 symptomatic episodes of VVC in the previous 12 months, although some investigators require 4 symptomatic episodes . Vaginal colonization by Candida spp. occurs in low numbers and follows adherence of Candida to vaginal ECs. Colonization can persist for months or years in healthy women not susceptible to RVVC where Candida lives in symbiotic relationship with vaginal microbiota. The breakdown of this relationship results in symptomatic infection and originates from either favored overgrowth of Candida or defect in host defense mechanisms . Both subjective health status and health related quality of life are markedly reduced during and in between episodes in women with RVVC even in those receiving long term antifungal therapy as recommended by guidelines . Besides, the chronic use of ketoconazole can result in significant side effects such as liver toxicity which is not seen with the more tolerated antifungal agent; fluconazole. However, long term therapy with fluconazole although reduce the rate of RVVC was not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Especially Disney Animation Studios, who have produced current movies like Tangled and Frozen, which rely solely on computer rendering, display the latest in animation technology. But when one thinks of Disney animation, one thing comes to mind always. Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse is the icon of Disney animation, and rose quickly in popularity among the audience of the world. Mickey is an icon, and can be identified by anyone anywhere due to how influential he is. But how did he come to be? Mickey has advanced greatly over the years, and has led many of the strides in improvements in animation and cinema, starting back in 1928. In test cartoons by Walt Disney, Mickey... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the transition to color, the cartoon never looked back, and never was produced in black and white again. Also, the style of Mickey himself was changed after this cartoon, with his eyes changing from black dots to more expressive eyes over time, and his body became more flexible where his joints lost their angularity (Frank). With these improvements, it became easier to incorporate more emotion into the cartoons, and therefore make the cartoons more in depth. From personal observation, I saw the improvements from prior cartoons being that the animation was much more fluid, with Mickey s arms and other characters movements overall being decently fluid and continuous. Another thing that is still a main factor of the cartoon is the use of music. The music is the main driving force of the cartoon, and they do well at incorporating the music into the comedy, and incorporating different characters with different musical styles and intentions. This can be seen between Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Mickey being the conductor and Donald playing a flute to agitate Mickey. Beside the point, the cartoon is advanced compared to Steamboat Willie, and it still imitates the use of repetitive movements for the characters in the shot (Mickey). This increases the value of the comedy and helps the viewers interpret the situation on the screen. • 46. The Five Stages Of Listening There are five stages of listening, receiving, understanding, remembering, evaluating, and responding. The five stages overlap. In receiving, you need to focus your attention, maintain your role and avoid assuming that you understand. In understanding, it is important that you see the speaker s messages from their point of view. It is also helpful to rephrase their message to be clear and also ask questions to clarify or confirm that you understand their message. The third stage is remembering, you need to focus on the main idea, organize what you hear, combine what you knew previously and repeat important information to yourself such as names and information. Next is evaluating, you should wait until you fully understand what the speaker... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My mother could have said, please turn the TV down, and looked directly at my father while he spoke. She did neither, until she ask him to repeat his question. She only did this after, she questioned his response (this time, he did turn the TV down and she had his full attention). My second example, is lack of appropriate focus. • 47. Meaning Of Confessional Poetry Confessional Poetry was the term given to the works of a group of American poets including Robert Lowell, Anne Sexton, John Berryman, Sylvia Plath, W. D. Snodgrass, and less often Theodore Roethke and Allen Ginsberg who were writing verse in the late nineteen fifties and sixties. This label, confessional, was so named misnamed by critic M. L. Rosenthal in a 1959 review of Robert Lowell s Life Studies, because of the personal voice and colloquial style the volume presented which was unlike the formality of Lowell s previous collections. For their subject matter these poets used parts of life not ordinarily presented in the public domain, such as frank revelations about marital infidelities, experiences with drug and alcohol addictions, mental breakdowns, and suicideattempts. Yet Rosenthal s term, confessional, radically simplified the work that it labeled. Not only did many famous figures such as Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, and John Berryman committed suicide in this school but also used their poems as a public forum for engaging in literal and philosophical... Dr. Montessori used the term normalization to distinguish one of the processes that she saw in her work with the children at San Lorenzo in Rome. This process, the process of normalization, occurs when development is proceeding normally. She used the word normalization as she believed that these wonderful traits, these impressive qualities belonged to all children and was not a characteristic found only in some children. We recognize this cycle as the normal В‘cycle of activity in a Montessori environment. Experience has shown the disappearance of many childish traits through Normalization. Children usually have a fickle mind and move from one toy to the next. Their minds seem to wander about and they constantly seem preoccupied within themselves. They are unable to take on work or any activity for longer than perhaps an hour. Dr. Montessori recognizes these traits along with others as deviations or defensiveness. However once a child is offered a task that is practical and requires concentration, if a child is trusted to do something that is realistic and requires responsibility, given the freedom of choice, the freedom of doing work suited to his or her own needs, they then reveal not only their capacity for intellectual accomplishment but a strange character of sweetness and serenity.
