Victor Hugo fills his pages of Les Miserables with dramatic, yet quirky, characters who each have

In 1949 Australian Alfred Jones was credited with the term hedge fund . Historically it derives its
name from the use of hedging to manage risk while achieving superior returns. Today, a hedge fund is
an un regulated investment vehicle designated for sophisticated, also known as the Accredited Investor
.
Mutual funds gained popularity in the 1980 s. Prior to this time, the problem of the small investor was
in obtaining sufficient knowledge to make informed investment decisions, and so the average person
avoided stock market investing. Instead money was held in traditional savings accounts or placed with
a bank in a Guaranteed Investment Certificate ( GIC ) or Certificate of Deposit ( CD ).
What to do. The small investor was not able to obtain a professional money manager without $10
million or more to start. But what if he could pool his money with other small investors to reach this
minimum threshold. And so the mutual fund was created to address these exact concerns.
The mutual fund concept was simple, allow the un sophisticated investor access to the strategies of the
professional money manager. This was done by pooling small sums of money, as little as $20.00

relationships and expectations for women today. One may wonder why it is love that is so prominent

1 Samuel presents Israel transformation from theocracy to monarchy as theological and sociopolitical.
Knut Heim mentions, Such transformation could not take place without stresses and conflicts. The
book of Samuel in general, and chaps. 8 15 in particular, reflect the tensions and ambiguities of these
transitional time. The Israel s request of a king is seen desperate and insistence to become like other
nations, due to internal and external crises. Of course, it was an evil thing to ask for because they were
the God s chosen people and God was their divine king. They are supposed to be different than other
nations. Nevertheless, God graciously gives them a king, Saul, who eventually fails but God s eternal
plan of kingship unfolds as he choses a king for himself in David.
Although 1 Samuel narrates the transition from theocracy, the judge, Samuel to a monarchial nation of
Israel, the narrator reminds that Yahweh was already their mighty king and who had also proven
himself trustworthy and also quite capable of calling out charismatic judges to lead the people in times
of emergency after all he is the God. The Israel nation was God s chosen people and under God s care
and divine kingship. In Samuel 7 we see obedience of Israel to God s appointed judge, Samuel, that
favored God s deliverance of Israel from the hands of Philistines. There is no doubt Israel had not seen

They each have waterfalls that were once dried up from hot climate. Both states have volcanoes and

I Am Working With Other Parts Of The Project
One of the lessons that I have learned through my 4+ years of work experience as an EIT is that a
good Engineer must always be aware of the real life system limitations of any project he/she is
involved with. With experience, not only are you able to keep aware of these limitations, but you can
also prepare for them. As Engineers, when we set out to design a product or system, we are working in
a theoretical world with no limitations or constraints. However, out in the real world, there are
numerous constraints and limitations that come into play when we are forced to integrate our design
into a functioning tool. Many times, on large projects, I m working with different groups and
subcontractors. When I release an engineering drawing, I have to understand that it must cooperate
well with other parts of the project. This takes a lot of coordination with different disciplines, and at
times poses limitations on your design that would otherwise not be present. In my experience, I had to
modify my design many times to better suit the overall structure and project requirements. In other
cases, constraints could be brought upon through legal and/or cosmetic means. For example, I have
been involved in projects where I would draft a design which boasts a solid engineering background.

The Internet in the year 2009. We send e mails, make calls over the internet and discuss topics we take
an interest in. Even our banking is going virtual. But what we take for granted today was only a vague
idea fifty years ago. In order to understand how we got this far Let s go back to 1957, when everything
began. Before 1957 computers only worked on one task at a time. This is called batch processing. Of
course, this was quite ineffective. With computers getting bigger and bigger they had to be stored in
special cooled rooms. But then the developers couldn t work directly on the computers anymore
specialists had to be called in to connect them. Programming at that time meant a lot of manual work
and the indirect connection to the computers led to a lot of bugs, wasting time and fraying the
developers´ nerves. The year 1957 marked a big change. A remote connection had to be installed so
the developers could work directly on the computers. At the same time the idea of time sharing came
up. This is the first concept in computer technology to share the processing power of one computer
with multiple users. On October 4th 1957, during the Cold War The first unmanned satellite, Sputnik
1, was sent into orbit by the Soviet Union. The fear of a Missile Gap emerged. In order to secure
America s lead in technology, the US founded the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency in

This essay will argue that white people were violently racist towards African Americans in the south
because the threat of them succeeding economically, educationally, and socially created competition
for things that whites felt they were entitled to. Jim Crow laws were created as a way to control the
success of African Americans and prevent them from reaching their full potential in society. Evidence
of their actions proves this in the laws they made, the ways they treated them, and the words said
about them. Whites felt entitled to these things because they viewed themselves as supreme .
The threat of African Americans succeeding economically motivated white southerners to act out. For
three centuries, African Americans did all of the hard work for white farmers, so they were ahead of
the farming game. They had outstanding knowledge of how to grow crops and the best way to do it.
Whites felt entitled to being superior, so they wanted to eliminate competition for successful farmers.
In Burke County, Georgia, an African American farmer reported that his acreage of land was reduced
by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) committee so that his white
neighbor could acquire more land. These acts of blatant racism were nearly impossible to fight back
on, because whites had such a tight grip on what African Americans could do. Laws were made that
told African Americans what they could do, and most importantly, what they could not do.

Fynbos and forest biomes are the main contributors to vegetation diversity in the Garden Route.
Indigenous forests in the Garden Route cover 35 765.4 ha. The biome of the Garden Route contains
