Hispanic Heritage Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Hispanic Heritage" presents its own set of challenges. First
and foremost, delving into the rich and diverse tapestry of Hispanic culture requires
comprehensive research to ensure accuracy and depth in the content. This involves exploring the
historical, social, and cultural aspects of the Hispanic community, which is a multifaceted and
nuanced subject.
The task becomes more intricate when one considers the need for sensitivity and respect towards
the various Hispanic identities and experiences. Balancing a broad overview with specific details
about individual countries, traditions, and contributions demands a careful selection of
information to provide a comprehensive yet concise picture.
Additionally, creating a compelling narrative that captures the significance of Hispanic heritage
in a meaningful way requires a thoughtful and well-structured approach. Connecting historical
events with personal stories, and weaving them seamlessly into the broader context, can be
challenging but is essential for an impactful essay.
Moreover, navigating potential pitfalls such as unintentional cultural biases or stereotypes
demands a heightened awareness of language and cultural nuances. Striking the right balance
between celebrating the richness of Hispanic heritage and avoiding cultural appropriation or
oversimplification adds another layer of complexity.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Hispanic Heritage" is a demanding task that requires
extensive research, cultural sensitivity, and adept storytelling. Successfully navigating these
challenges can lead to a compelling and enlightening piece that pays homage to the diverse
contributions of the Hispanic community.

Scotland s Curriculum For Excellence
Scotland s Curriculum for Excellence was published in 2004 following the National
Debate on Education: AifL in 2002 and the establishment of a curriculum review
group in 2003. Since 2004, Curriculum for Excellence has been tried, tested and
modified and in 2010 Scottish schools experienced the full implementation of
Curriculum for Excellence. Curriculum for Excellence was designed in order to
transform Scottish educationand according to Education Scotland, the main aim of
Curriculum for Excellence is helping children and young people aged 3 18 years
gain the necessary knowledge, skills and attributes for life outside of school. This was
put into practise in all learningenvironments by providing a more flexible and
enriched education.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many teachers had a positive attitude towards Curriculum for Excellence s ideas and
philosophies, however, the practicality of implementation was a major concern for
many. In a study recorded by Dr Mark Priestly and Sarah Minty, research found that
teachers thought there was a lack of clarity and lack of guidance. This is one of the
aspects which created the feeling of implementation being impractical. Teachers
frequently complained they were floundering in the dark ...this uncertainty led to
feelings of anxiety and insecurity among many. (Priestly and Minty 2012). The
research also found that the main area where teachers felt this sense of doubt and
uncertainty was within the new assessment system and the new National
Qualifications. In order for Curriculum for Excellence s implementation to have gone
smoothly it was crucial for teachers and head teachers to be confident in the new
system. In the same study by Priestly and Minty, it was found that many teachers
were not confident taking forward Curriculum for Excellence. They were not
comfortable changing from the old curriculum and this lack of guidance made even
the most confident individuals seek reassurance. In schools where the head teacher
was affected by this lack of clarity the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence
was delayed massively resulting in support for head teachers from the local

The Genome Project Of Any Species
The genome sequencing project of any species would not be possible without modern
sequencing technologies and the methods described in this thesis, transcriptome and
genome resources for whitefly can be rapidly developed which enable exciting
research. Methods and results described in this thesis are just examples for any
genomeproject, and would suit best to any arthropod that contain bacterial
endosymbiont. This concluding chapter summarizes the previous chapters and also
outlines the possible future directions for improvements and describes the exciting
research studies possible.
8.0.1 What can we do with the transcriptome
Chapter 1 began by addressing the research problem and describing the whiteflies
that have been studied so far and why the genome of this species is needed.
Although, four transcriptomes of different whitefly species have already been
published and the data are available to public. These four transcriptomes were
compared in Chapter 2 to identify sequence and functional differences across them.
The main aim of the Chapter 2 was to obtain a comprehensive transcriptome data set
for Asia I species which could effectively used for further analysis in this thesis.
In order to capture the complete transcriptome of Asia I species, two different
libraries (Normalized and Unnormalized) were generated and sequenced. These
combined data sets from two libraries not only led to complete transcriptome resource
but also to identifying the abundance and least
Galilee Chapter 5-6 Summary
5:1. The end of chapter 4 showed that Jesus was going to teach the Scriptures all over
Galilee. One day, the multitudes had gathered to hear Jesus teach Gods word. Jesus
not only taught the Scriptures in the synagogue on the Sabbath, but whenever and
wherever the opportunity presented itself.
5:2. As the crowd grew and pressed in on Jesus to hear what He was saying, he
ended up backed up against the water, and so, not wanting to stand in the water and
teach, He decided to get into a boat and teach a little way out from shore.
5:3. The fisherman didn t need their boats while they cleaned the nets, so Jesus got
into one of the boats, which was Simon s, and asked him to put out a little from land.

When they had let down the net and started to pull it back in, they found that they
had caught a great number of fish. So many that their net was breaking. Although it
isn t recorded how many fish were caught.
5:7. So as not to break the net and lose all the fish, they signaled to their partners in
the other boat to come and help them. Even then, there were so many fish, that they
filled both the boats and they began to sink.
5:8. The response of Simon Peter to this miracle reveals some of what he may have
been thinking when Jesus asked him to let down his nets after he had just finished
cleaning them. I called him Simon Peter here, instead of just Simon, because his

5:9. The reason for Peter s confession of sin is that he and all who were with him
were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken. The miracle caused amazement,
which led to the recognition that Jesus had not asked them to do something
ridiculous after all.
5:10. Among these others were James and John, the sons of Zebedee. John may have
been one of the first followers of Jesus. As fishing partners with Simon, they would
have shared in the task of cleaning the nets and hauling in the fish, as well as the

The National Football League Is The Most Popular Sport
The National Football League is the most popular sport in America. The NFL is
the most lucrative sports business in the world by generating 9 billion dollars a
year. For whatever reason peoples eyes are glued to the television every Sunday,
whether it be to root on their hometown team or to follow their fantasy football
team. The league has been under fire for the safety of the players for a very long
time, but more so in the last couple of years. The biggest part of the scrutiny is that
repeated head trauma can cause long term brain damage. The rules must change in
the game of football because it has become too dangerous and creates a long term
threat to players. Equipment has improved tremendously over the years to help with
the safety... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A helmet hit from Morris Badgro in the 1930 would lay down players with 970
pounds of force and a helmet hit from the current player Holati Ngata unleashes 1700
pounds of force.
The National Football League is constantly working on making the game safer.
There needs to be a waiver in the contract of the players that prevents them suing
the league for any post career health issues. If the players were not part of the
National Football League Players Association, a labor union for the players, the
waiver would already be in place. The players union says that it would be against
the collective bargaining agreement for the NFL to come up with such waiver
(cite.) The waiver probably stems from the lawsuits against the NFL by former
players. The number of suits continues to grow with the largest one being nearly
800 million dollars. The former players accused the league of hiding the long term
effects of concussions and rushing players back onto the field, while profiting from
the games violence. There have been multiple players who have been on the NFL s
side and said that they would be willing to sign a waiver saying that they would not
sue the league if any post football health issues occurred.
There have been much needed changes on the field to change the safety of the
game. The changes have drawn a lot of criticism. A friend of mine refers to it as the
No Fun League instead of the National Football league, but this is what has to happen
The Trojan War
The Trojan War is a somewhat unusual event in Western Civilization, for the simple
fact that it is descended from part mythology, and from part history. The war
engaged thousands of men besieging the city of Troy, and eventually spawned a
number of classic works of literature as well as the lineage of the city and state of
Rome as being descended from the largess of the gods (Vergil, 19 B.C). Thus, it is
not surprising to find out that the original impetus for the Trojan Warbegan with
Olympian gods and goddesses themselves.
As mythology has it, the events that eventually resulted in the Trojan War began
when there was a marriage between a sea goddess Thetis and Peleus. This event
was well attended by the Olympians, and the goddess of discord and chaos, Eris,
was snubbed and not invited to the wedding. Consequently, Eris decided to take
revenge by interrupting the ceremonies and tossing out a golden apple that was
inscribed to the fairest . The lack of proper nomenclature for the apple made it a
target to be sought after by Juno, Athena and Venus, who each claimed to be the
fairest and to have ownership of the apple. Zeus decided that he would get Paris, a
resident of Troy who was renowned for his beauty, to decide who the fairest was out
of this triad.
Each of the goddesses attempted to sway Paris judgment by tempting him with gifts
to influence his decision. Juno, for example, offered the youth unrestrained power,
whereas Athena promised him a horde of wealth. Venus,

Among these, a few in particular, is extremely crucial in the overall process.
Situational analysis is one of the important steps as it creates an environment for the
planners to understand the condition in which Disneyland is having. The different
types of situational analysis include general environmental analysis, competitive
environmental analysis, and the SWOT analysis. Analysing competitive environment
using the Porter s 5 Forces can be done to understand the market of current before the
setup of the new themed area. Only after situational analysis, Disney can then
establish goals and objectives that are relevant and realistic to the company. A good
situational analysis can also discover and improve certain parts of Disney that may
be previously under developed. (Boundless, n.d.)
Another important planning step would be monitor and control. On daily basis,
operational managers will conduct detailed checks on the operation, while tactical
managers perform ensures constant growth of the project, and strategic managers
control the direction of the project growth, making sure the company is working
towards the ultimate goal. Planning is an ongoing process. When implementing the

market changes. It is important to constantly update the project with the market to

Identity Issues In The Labour Party
New Labour was not a distinctive political phenomenon. New Labour was the re
organization of a party in order to win elections. The Labour Party had many
identity issues and had lost four elections before the re branding. It will be shown
that New Labour was only a rebranding in order to address these issues.
The major issues that led to Labour needing the rebranding are the identity crisis and
actions taken against the working class. Throughout the span of the Labour party in
the 1900 s a dual identity crisis was present, due to the fact that, middle class
intellectuals were leading the party rather than actual working class individuals.
During the Great Depression, the party was advised to cut unemployment benefits.

become so popular. Through this move, it was shown that New Labour was not only
catering to liberal voters, but also to conservative voters who were
Impact Of ISIS On Society
It s hard to imagine how anyone reasonably well off in Australia will ever think to
join a terrorist organisation like ISIS. Yet, it turns out that this viral disease has
spread into the minds of too many people and many have taken themselves over to
Syria to fight for a group that regularly beheads people. ISIS has managed to recruit
people, mostly young Muslims and persuaded them that the regular beheading of
people is better than anything western society stands for. But how?
The answer isn t as simple as mental illness, awesome twitter brainwash techniques or
the irrefutable promise of cookies. That may be a part of it, but it goes much deeper
than that to the fundamental cause common to all young people joining radical

Explain the Way in Which You Would Establish Ground
Rules...
Having explored the three methods of setting ground rules during session 2 of
PTTLS course, it is evident that for the ground rules to be effective, determining the
appropriate method of ground rules setting is crucial to informing how the learners
will be likely to respond to the ground rules and how this will later affect the session
or sessions to be delivered.
The three methods of setting ground rules offer advantages and disadvantages
depending on the context of the lesson and the dynamics of the group. For example
the teacher led process provides the teacher with a clear set of uniformed rules and
offers the teacher an opportunity to consider issues which may otherwise have been
overlooked such as the learning environment and ... Show more content on

The learners would have no choice but to adhere to the rules as they would be bound
by their own principles. This method does fail to acknowledge the teachers
experience in understanding the dynamics of groups and how the teacher could
provide a valuable contribution to ground rules which consider the needs of
individual learners. This method may also inhibit the teacher from delivering an
effective lesson as consideration may not have been applied as to whether the rules
are suitable for the teaching environment. For instance taking into account the actual
content of the lesson to be delivered and forgetting to include the health and safety of
the learners.
In establishing an effective set of ground rules for my learners, I would consider a
method that offers the teacher the opportunity to create a learning environment that is
safe, efficient and stimulating for the learner (Armitage, A, et al, Teaching Training
in Post Compulsory Education, OU, 2007).
This would be implemented through getting the learners to negotiate their own
ground rules with assistance from myself. I would take charge of facilitating the
discussion to ensure all learners had an opportunity to contribute, and to ensure the
inclusion of crucial rules which allow me to effectively
Relationship Between Nature And Nature
Some people might say that in the modern world nature does not affect us as
predominantly as it used to prior to the industrial revolution and thus we don t share a
strong bond with nature anymore. However, I strongly disagree with their claim since
our history and current society substantiates otherwise. The formal definition of nature
is the phenomena of the physical world collectively, i.e, the factors and products of
the worlds as opposed to human creations. Even though we, the humans, have decided
to exclude ourselves from the definition of nature, we cannot deny the inseparable
relationship that exists between us and nature. The relations that nature has with
humans is similar to that of the bond between mother and her children. A mother
nests her children within her for 9 months and thus becoming an integral part of her
for the rest of her life. She nourishes them, takes care of them, stands by their side in
every step of the way. No matter what mistakes her children makes, she always
forgives and loves them. Since the inception of their relation, they both mutually
affecteach other. The way a mother treats her children, shapes and defines their
perception the world and the way a child behaves influences their mother s conduct to
her children. However, as the children get older and form their own opinions, the
often collide and clash with their mother. Their wrongdoings and mistakes may hurt
her, yet she cannot stop loving her children. Similarly, nature

Rule of Law in Bangladesh
Question: Asses the status and function of the rule of law in the operation of the
current Bangladesh constitution
INTRODUCTION Every country is based on some kind of law. Some of those are
arbitrary powers, however over the years the only rule that seems to dictate the terms
is the rule of law. One of the basic principles of the any constitution is the rule of law.
This doctrine is accepted in the constitution of U.S.A. and in the constitution of

Some aspects of the rule of law in our society and polity should be mentioned as
under: First, access to law as well as equality before it, are reserved for only those
who are privileged. For the rest of the population, more or less the Hobbsian law of
nature prevails. They are the helpless victims of as unjust society that sets great

have claimed that there is independence of judiciary. The claim is only partially
true, while the higher courts enjoy a certain measure of independence; the lower
courts are under the direct control of the law ministry. The judges look up to the
Ministry for everything infect they are obliged to. The principle of separation of
judiciary from executive is being violated in two ways 1. Magistrates are performing
dual function of both executive and judiciary, which is not desirable in the interest of
justice.
2. The service of district and session judges, their transfer, promotion etc. are
controlled not by the Supreme Court but by the law ministry.
Third, The government of Bangladesh continued to use the Special Power Act of

Benefits Of Safe Injection Sites
Safe injection sites possess many salutary benefits related to public health safety of
the drug using community. Safe injection sites provide a safe place for drug users
to inject drugs into their bodies so they do not have to reuse needles and can also be
supervised by nurses constantly while they do so. Insite is the sole safe injection site
in all of Canada and the expansion of other facilities has been fiercely contested by
policy makers not due to empirical criminological evidence, but simply due to one
dimensional classical conservatism inspired ideology and illogical hysteria. The
fear propagated by the past Conservative government that by assisting drug users by
feeding their addiction and by gathering so many law breakers in concentrated areas
would correlate to an increased rate in crime. The traditionalistic ideology of the
Conservative government mandated them to adamantly oppose the prospect of safe
injection sites let alone their expansion into other regions and provinces regardless
of the fact that there were no adverse effects for the community in terms of
increased crime. Safe injection sites were introduced to Vancouver in 2003 under a
special exemption under section 56 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
which was granted by the Liberal government via Health Canada as a desperate
means to help resolve the growing health concerns in the area. In 1998, a report by
then British Columbia public health officer John Millar decried the situation in the
Virginia Hazing Law Case Study
1.The alleged facts that gave rise to the plaintiff s case was that during the University
of Virginia s (UVA) Men Swim team introduction or welcome week , the plaintiff
along with other freshmen UVA swimmers were subjected to hazing that included
acts such as, physical and mental abuse, force of obsessive alcoholic beverage intake,
false imprisonment, and threats of sodomy against the freshmen swimmers.
According to the plaintiff, if the underclassmen did not comply with any of the
requests or duties that the upperclassmen told the underclassmen swimmers to
complete, they were forced into dangerous and life threatening acts. However, when
the head coach was informed about the heinous acts being performed by the
upperclassmen, the coach simply informed the plaintiff that he could practice

In regards to the case article, the Virginia Hazing Law states that the way that a court
can rule for the plaintiff with a claim of hazing is if the plaintiff has been suffered
bodily harm with physical signs. Therefore, the plaintiff who brings up such claims
has the burden of proof to bring medical documents and/or photos that prove the
claim of hazing, which was accompanied with bodily harm. Unfortunately, this was a
problem for the plaintiff in this particular case. In the case of hazing within UVA Men
s Swim team, the plaintiff filed a claim against the defendants of hazing. However, the
defendant, in agreement with the court, stated that the hazing of the plaintiff could
not stand because the plaintiff did not acquire any physical bodily harm from the
alleged hazing. In addition, the plaintiff did not seek medical attention to support his
claims. Therefore, the claim does not stand under the Virginia Hazing
Alistair Macleod- Modern World Versus Traditional World
Essay
Modern World versus Traditional World
The stories from Alistair Macleod s The Lost Salt Gift of Blood are often related to
the lives of the people of the Maritimes who are commonly miners, fishermen and
farmers. The author repeatedly examines similar themes and issues in his short stories
such as isolation, choices versus consequences and the concept of dying culture.
However, the most prominent theme deals with the contrast between the rural ways
of life and the more modern city life. This theme is not only limited to the Maritime
culture; it is something that can be universally understood. His reason for utilizing
this theme is to prove that the modern way of life is not always better then the
traditional ways. Alistair Macleod ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows the difference between their lives in Montreal versus Cape Breton.
Frequently throughout Macleod s stories he presents a conflict between modernity
and the traditional way of life.
The concept of the traditional world versus the modern world is a global
phenomenon which is not limited to the Maritime Provinces. In the world there are a
multitude of cultures. Within any culture there are deep rooted traditions that affect
the way people view education, entertainment, and jobs. However, due to the
advances throughout the world a conflict between modernity and the traditional
world has arose. Throughout Alistair Macleod s The Lost Salt Gift of Blood
collection, his stories portray this conflict in a Maritime setting and mostly represent
the conflict between the traditional world and the modern world. The Golden Gift
of Grey deals with the same theme; however, it is set within Northern America.
Throughout the story there are examples proving the more traditional ways of life
such as, They did not know the aching loneliness of which it spoke and when it
floated from the windows of the house on warm summer nights it branded their
parents indelibly as hillbillies and they themselves as well. (Macleod 93) This is a
great point, showing that not only can this theme be prone to the Maritimes but allows
readers to consider that the theme is universally distributed.

Because of the extremely intricate and sophisticated nature of manufacturing
semiconductors, a competitor should expect high initial capital requirements to build

capabilities to design newer generations of semiconductors with greater amounts of

Interaction between Political and Social Life in Ancient Imperial Rome
The interaction between political and social life in Ancient Rome has been
accurately portrayed in the well researched novel, The Course of Honour , by
Lindsey Davies. However as this is a fictional novel told as an interesting story
instead of fact, the information given must be corroborated with several primary
sources to correct any inherent biases.
Lindsey Davies is an author who specialises in writing about life in Ancient Rome.
Her novels are famous for the detective work of Marcus Didius Falco, with books

But when Vespasian, in the course of his general triumph, restored stable government
to Britain... (Tacitus, p.68)
As well as being a strong source of information about political life during this time,
the novel also catalogues the struggles faced before and after marriage by
Vespasians mistress, the freedwoman Caenis. Their forbidden relationship is
threatened as Vespasian reaches the height of his political career. Caenis was but a
footnote mentioned in history which Davies has sanctified into a wonder woman
without whom Vespasians career could not have possibly succeeded. This obvious
glorification of a story is an example of a bias used to make a tale more interesting,
and the lack of historical sources commenting on Caenis only proves that she is
nowhere near as important as Davis makes her out to be. Regardless, this novel
achieves its aim as an interesting secondary source of information on Imperial Rome
from two totally different perspectives that of a slave and freedwoman, and that of an
emperor. It showcases very suitably both the social and political struggles which are
faced in upkeeping this unlikely relationship.
There are different viewpoints on the way slaves were treated in Imperial Rome.
Caenis in the story is first portrayed as a faithful and respectful slave, claiming I
know how to keep my mouth shut, any sensible slave does! (Davies, p.17) This
restricted form of life is backed up by this quote by a primary
Hate Cannot Drive Out Darkness
Lately, the world seems to be in shambles. Everyone is suffering while the world
becomes divided. People pitted against each other, knowing hate more than love. A
drastic change needs to occur, for the world to be fixed. As late Martin Luther King
Jr said, Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive
out hate; only love can do that. This quote resonates with my belief about what it
means to make the worlda better place. The world is full of hatred and evil, why be
the darkness in the world when you can be the rays of sunshine. To make the world
a better place, people must love everyone for who they are, treat people equally and
stand up for others.
There are many things I can do to impact the world. People
Al Capone Essay 11
Al Capone is one of the most recognized names in American history. Capone ran the
City of Chicago with illegal activities. He appeared many times on newspapers all
over the country. Every one of us has heard of Al Capone, but most of us don t k
now the story behind him. What made him to be the most feared gangster in the city
of Chicago? How did this kid from a rough neighborhood and no money grow up to
have $60,000,000? I ve always been fascinated with organized crime but had never
been taught anything in school about it. This report gave me the chance to explore
something interesting and also educational. The more I researched Al Capone, the

One night he made a remark about the sister of Frank Galluciano, and Galluciano
slashed Capone s face with a pocketknife, leaving three large scars on the left side
of his face. For much of his criminal career, newspapers would call Capone by the
hated name Scarface . On December 18, 1918, Capone was wed at the age of 19,
to a 21 year old Irish girl named Mae Coughlin. A short time later Albert Francis
Capone was born. At the same time this was going on, in New York Johnny Torrio
moved his operations to Chicago. Torrio s prospects in New York looked dim
because Capone was indicted for two murders. He was released when a witness lost
her memory, and evidence suddenly vanished from the court. Al Capone knew that
he had Johnny Papa Torrio to thank for this. A few days later, Capone got into a
scruff with another man and killed him. Rather than being indicted again, Capone
called Torrio and received an invitation to move to Chicago. So he packed up his
wife and child and did just that.
Upon arrival in Chicago, Capone was given a job as a bartender at Torrio s newest
club, The Four Deuces. Capone was known as an aggressive and hospitalized most
of the drunks he evicted. Men were hospitalized with broken arms, broken legs,
skull fractures, and on one occasion even blood poisoning because Capone bit
through the skin directly into the man s artery. Capone was repeatedly arrested for
assault, but was always released thanks to Torrio s police
Becoming A Real Estate Investor
Many people hold on to the belief that real estate investing is a risky thing to do.
Even those that are investors will tell you it s a risky business, but if you stick
with it in the long run the risk takers will come to realize that this is the way out to

The law differentiates between the investor and the homeowner because the investor
has taken on large improvements based on the previous state of affairs where the
homeowner has not. This means that the investor gained site specific assurance
where the homeowner did not, even if they seek out to maintain the zoning
classification not only on their property, but on the whole neighborhood. Hence,
several courts have specifically held that neighbors have no eternally vested rights in
the perpetuation of an existing zoning classification (Stahl, Kenneth A). In most cases
this is why there are some neighborhoods around the metropolitan area where there
are signs that read My community is not for sale as a way of protesting. In a way this
seems unfair for the communities that must deal with new development within the
area without having a say which makes most neighbors somewhat aggravated with
the city s decision making and the benefits it gives investors in what they do with a
property. On the other hand people need to realize the essential aspect of new
property development, this is motivation for investors to form an important part of
identity to help shape communities where the property can serve as an important
focus that gives meaning to residents within society. Therefore, it is important to note
that the Property and Relative Status is another factor that needs to be accounted for
when getting in real estate investing as well as the

Narcissistic Personality Disorder Research Paper
By Jonathan Ilunga
Sonoma State University
Abstract
This paper will aim to define narcissistic personality disorder as a whole. The
document will cover the topics of symptoms, prevalence, and contributing factor. In
addition to covering the general description of the disorder the paper will present a
case study to provide a clearer image of the parameters of NPD. 2 scientific studies
will be presented in order to offer empirical data regarding NPD and to add
knowledge recently acquired through experimentation.

Difference Between Federalist And Anti-Federalists
Based on my understanding of the facts presented to the class by Mrs. Adams through
her teachings and handouts while learning about the Constitution and The Ten
Amendments also known as The Bill of Rights, the Federalist and Anti Federalist are
two political groups who viewed the government differently. The Federalist felt that
the Constitution needed to stay the same, but the Anti Federalist felt that change was
needed to give the people most or at least more power. They felt that amendments
now known as the Bill of Rights should be added to the Constitution. Something else
I learned was that The Federalist wanted a loose interpretation of the laws. This
means that the law needed to be followed by what the meaning of the laws are. If

were really supportive of the Federalist group. The Anti Federalist also known as
the Democratic Republicans leaders were Thomas Jefferson and James Madison
who greatly disliked Hamilton s proposals. This group just like the other were

of the biggest problems between the Federalist and Anti Federalists was over the
creation of a national bank. The Federalist supported the National Bank. Previously

then you would know in the Constitution it did not say that they could do that strictly.
Now with the Federalist they argued that the government was granted access to make
any laws necessary for tax and commerce which was granted to the government in the

Windshield Wiper Maintenance
A clear line of vision is critical when driving conditions are challenging. This is
why it is essential to have your windshield wipers replaced if they need to be. You
will also want to ensure that you have enough wiper fluid available. This task
sometimes gets overlooked when people do maintenance themselves, but a
technician will likely replace the wipers and fill the fluid during a service check if
those things need to be done. It may seem like a minor detail, but when you need to

Drummer Guy Vanderhaeghe
In Drummer, Guy Vanderhaeghe shows us how important the need for one s own
principles really is. Setting place in the early 1950 s, Vanderhaeghe shares a story
through Billy s point of view, a small town fifteen year old who starts to see the
why principles are necessary throughout a series of events. These include: Billy
standing up to his father after getting ridiculed for attending the wrong church;
assessing his teacher, Ms. Clark s view on why one needs principles; and when he
starts to reflect on how Nancy s principles dictate her decisions and how she reacts to
the peer pressure that Gene, his brother puts upon her. Vanderhaeghe shows us that
the issues in such a small town are no different than the ones we face in society...

constantly being pressured, she stands her ground and does not let anyone get in
the way of what she believes in. Towards the end, Billy tries to kiss Nancy after
walking her home. Her immediate response was What re you doing? [...] I m not
your date (235). For Nancy, kissing Gene s brother would simply be wrong because
she was originally on a date with him, not Billy. At these moments, we see that
Nancy always stands up for herself and what she feels is right, no matter what
anyone else thinks. Both Nancy and Billy have this ability to stand up for what
they believe is right because of their principles. What would come of this world if
no one had principles, let alone their own principles? Society would not be able to
function if no one had a set of moral rules to guide their actions. Vanderhaeghe
shows us why it is necessary to have principles through showing the lives of these
small town characters and how they relate to a larger picture in life. He gives us an
insight on this with three main characters: Zipper s dedication, which show how his
principles lead to hard work and not giving up; Billy s development in character
which improve his principles, and allow him to stand up for what he believes in; and

An Voluntary Control Over More Automatic Brain Systems
Pedretti, Pendleton Schultz Krohn (2006) define attention as being this voluntary
control over more automatic brain systems to effectively select and manipulate
sensory or stored information briefly or for sustained periods. One component of
attention is this term sustained attention , which is the ability to consistently engage
in an activity over time without loosing concentration (Willard Spackman, 2014).
Willard Spackman express that repetitive and predictable activities place less
demands on sustained attention. Attention process training (APT) is a computerized
training program that provides practice in five types of attention: focused,
sustained, selective, alternating and divided (Park, Proulx Towers, 1999). Several
research studies have concluded that specific components of attention need specific
training and that with sufficient training it is possible to improve aspects of
attention and other cognitive functions (Park et al, 1999; Sohlberg, McLaughlin,
Pavese, Heidrich Posner, 2000). Before each task is completed, the requirements
are briefly explained and usually take between 2 3 minutes to complete. A low level
evidence ... by Park et al (1999) concluded that the APT program improved the
functioning of specific cognitive processes underlying attention but not general
cognitive functioning. The APT program was designed to last for 40 hours with an
average of 20 sessions. If the participant were to make three or more errors these

Comparing Genesis And The Story Of The Flood
In both of these narratives God and the gods felt that there was evil in the world and
too much violence. This made God and the gods believe that there needs to be a
flood to wipe out the violence and corruption, and to start new. This narrative shows
that both of the authors felt that nature is a strong force that can end corruption and
wipe the slate clean. They both share the assumption that the gods in one of the
narratives and Godin the other narrative use nature as the force of changing the
world into a better place. Nature is a very important aspect of these narratives
because the destroying rains, and the floodis how the gods and God believe that
nature is the only way to do this. First, these narratives have very similar aspects...

In the narrative of The Story of the Flood it explains how even the gods were

Andre Dubus Techniques
Andre Dubus use of disordered chronology allows readers to feel sympathy towards
each character differently. Dubus style of writing the events out of order also
contributes to the way the characters are portrayed as the story progresses. The
development of the characters is shown through a different perspective using
flashbacks and backstories as well. The interpretation of Killings is based up on how
the reader responds to Dubus use of disordered chronology, flashback, backstory, and
the somewhat of a resolution at the end with the conversation between Matt and
Ruth. Dubus uses the mixed up chronology from the very beginning of the story. By
starting off the story at the setting of the funeral by saying, On the August morning...

The background written on Richard Strout gives the reader an idea of where Richard
came from and what he s been through over the years. For example, people who have

the high school running back, the young drunk in bars, the oblivious hard hatted
young man eating his lunch at a counter, the bartender who could perhaps be called
courteous but not more than that. (64) These images of Strout aren t very surprising
and give somewhat of an understanding towards why he is the way he is at the time
of the murder. On the other hand, the background on Strout has a slight sympathetic
tone, although not one significant enough to justify the reason he murdered Frank.
One notable flashback was the scene illustrating the moment Richard shot Frank.
Dubus places this description right in the middle of the story with no warning,
writing, Richard Strout shot Frank in front of the boys. They were sitting on the
living room floor...Frank sitting on the couch, and Mary Ann just returning from the
kitchen with a tray of sandwiches. (67) The scene here is portrayed very innocently,
making any sympathy felt for Richard from the background disappear. Richard s
character is automatically negative after this moment. The murder description is also
important because it is another justification that could be used for Matt s

Advertisements also help produce a variance in how the brand/company connects
contrarily amid customers and other businesses when doing business to business ads.
Advertising sends the message and data about products and services and the existence

and brands the advantage of appealing and displaying the organization s products

Contrarily advertising has its disadvantages, regardless of the legal ramifications,

Role of Music in Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin
The Role of Music in Sonny s Blues
Sonny s Blues, by James Baldwin, explores the strained relationship that two brothers
the unnamed narrator and Sonny have and how the narrator slowly begins to
recognize Sonny s relationship with music. While the narrator is initially baffled by
Sonny s dream to become a musician, towards the end of the short story, he
recognizes that Sonny depends on music and that it is a driving force in his life,
possibly one of the only things that keep him alive. Sonny s Blues opens with news
that Sonny has been recently apprehended during a drug bust, which establishes that
Sonny has had an ongoing problem with drug addiction, specifically heroin. While
the narrator is apprehensive about contacting Sonny after this incident as the brother
have lost touch over the years, he eventually reaches out to Sonny and gains insight
into what Sonny has been doing during their estrangement; it is also during this time
that the narrator recognizes that music is not only an artistic outlet for Sonny, but
also provides an emotional and psychological catharsis for him and those that listen to
his music. Sonny best describes his dependency on music as he talks to his brother
after an old fashioned revival meeting during which there was much singing. Sonny
states,
When she was singing before, said Sonny, abruptly, her voice reminded me for a

Feral pigs were introduced by the early European settlers in 1788. Pigs were used as
domesticated companions of the Europeans as they moved around Australia. After
time, these animals escaped from captivity and their population began to increase
dramatically. Feral pigs have a huge negative impact on the native vegetation,
environment and agriculture. They have very destructive habits when feeding and
foraging. They can cause erosion of soil and fouling of watering points with their
wallowing.
Feral pigs need satisfactory supplies of food, water and shelter for protection against
extremes of temperature. Feral pigs can be found in areas with these conditions
including rainforests, paperbark swamps, open flood plains, marsh areas, semi arid
flood plains and dry woodlands.
They are a medium to large sized animal with a short stubby snout, sported by a
short neck. The body of a feral pig is rounded. They have small eyes, and large ears
with points. Feral pigs are four legged animals with four toes of each foot. Their tail
is generally curled or straight covered with hair and they are covered in fur and have
very thick skin which helps to insulate their body temperature.
Feral pigs are omnivores, preferring succulent green vegetation, fruit, grain, and a
wide variety of animal meat including, frogs, reptiles, birds, small mammals; and
carrion. They also feed on underground plants such as root, bulbs, corms, and fungi.
The vast diet of feral pigs can cause severe environmental
Anton Chigurh s No Country For Old Men
Throughout the thrilling page turner No Country For Old Men, readers are
introduced to a psychotic murderer who seemingly embodies only villainous
traits. As the story progresses and comes to a close, many readers would argue that
the novel s primary antagonist Anton Chigurh was a sociopathic killer with no
personal values or morals. I will argue that despite being a sociopathic killer, Anton
Chirgurh does have a code of ethics that he abides to and I will do so by
investigating his ideologies about fate and how they controlled him during a game
of coin toss in a gas station For the duration of NCFOM, Anton Chigurh abided by
the rules of fate and considered himself it s dealer. Despite his lack of human
empathy, Chigurh did have a strict... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chigurh finds himself operating fate with the uneasy owner of a small gas station.
From the emergence of the banter, it is clear that Chigurh intends to be straight
forward. He states clearly that the man married into his estate, despite the man s
embarrassed efforts to deny his dependency on his wife. This moment of the
conversation could be seen as Chigurh s triggering moment. That s the way it is,
Chigurh says to the man. He has found himself here at this moment and time and
wants to determine the man s fate. Chigurh questions the man about coin tosses, and
he his curious to know the man s luck in the game of chance. By flipping the coin,
Chigurh turns himself over to fate. He uses the coin as a guide in what he should do
next. The coin will tell him how to act upon the man standing behind the counter.
The man hesitates to call the coin toss, but Chigurh insists knowing fate must be
carried out. By insisting the gas station owner calls the coin toss, Chiurgh
demonstrates his loyalty to his moral system. He follows closely and almost
religiously to the rules of chance and won t stop until he enforces the man s destiny.
The man believes in the traditional rules of a coin toss, and says he has
The Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms
School uniforms have both negative and positive feedback. Some view it as
promoting conformity, or taking away a student s individuality. It is always a fear to
both parents and students to have the liberties promised to them striped away just
because of their age or for the sake of being educated. This is why many families
took these cases to court on the behalf of the minor in their custody. Others tend to
view it as a way to make things better for students. They want to enforce that equality
but at the same time embrace differences. They want uniforms to decrease judgment
and discrimination among students. They want student to behave according to
societies standards. They don t want any malice or jealousy due to a few differences.
They want the uniform to keep things orderly.
The School Board s purpose for enacting the uniform policy is to increase test scores
and reduce disciplinary problems throughout the school system, the appeals court
wrote in Canady. This purpose is in no way related to the suppression of student
speech. (findlaw/us 5th circuit) The school system won and it was decide that the
uniform policy was not a violation of the student s first or fourteenth amendment
rights. Also it was brought up that the uniforms actually help with behavior and test
scores.
Uniforms are becoming increasingly more popular in the states due to that specific
reason. Uniforms which were 1st seen in private schools here in the US have public
schools readily following the trend. The dress codes now enforced by majority
schools believe it restricts students use of clothing as an element of contemporary
communicative intake. It is therefore used as a precaution to keep gang violence, and
crime rate down.
The implementation of uniforms was to increase student success, and deter bad
behavior. Their has yet to be a link that suggest a substantial connection between the
school uniform policies and student achievement. The results do not particularly deny
or back either side of the uniform argument. The results do nonetheless strongly
intimate that uniforms are not the solution to all of American education s ills. Though
this was the initial reason to have students switch to uniforms there is
Enterobacteric Microorganisms In Nicteria Case Study
Numerous attempts have been made to isolate, identify and apply effective
antagonistic microorganisms to manage RKN, nevertheless the use of nematicides is
proved far more effective than biocontrol agents. According to literature, many
bacterial isolates showed a significant nematicidal activity against RKN (Zhou et al.
2016; Vagelas and Gowen 2012; Moussa and Zawam 2010; Mendoza et al. 2008) that
inhibited egg masses hatching or caused J2 mortality. Therefore, many studies are
still being conducted to distinguish and understand effectual biological agents. In the
present study, a novel bacterial strain showed a strong inhibitory activity against the

2007) that could be responsible for egg masses color change and lack of vitality.
Generally, the RKN lay eggs into a GM that is secreted via six rectal glands
located around the female anal consists of protein, carbohydrate and certain
enzymes (Bird Rogers, 1965; Bird Soeffky, 1972) and the laid eggs become
enveloped in the GM completely. Furthermore, the egg shells consists of three
distinctive layers in which the outermost layer is a protein (vitelline) followed by a
chitinous layer and finally the innermost layer is lipid. Since proteins and
carbohydrates are apparently the common components of the egg shell and GM, it
was hypothesized that the factor(s) altered the eggs shell and GM morphologically
is mainly affecting proteins that might be denatured and lost their functions.
However, the color change and protein denaturation could be only indirect
consequences of secretion of other factors. The suppression ability of P.vermicola
suggests production of a secondary metabolite(s) that might be responsible for the
inhibitory effect against RKN. Nematode inhibition by bacterial supernatants was
reported previously using bioassay experiments (Oliveira et al. 2007) as well as
culture filtrates (Vagelas and Gowen 2012). It was previously illustrated by Siddiqui
et al. (2000) that ethyl
Jeremy Bentham s Theory Of The Panopticon
In February of 2004, an advanced prison system was born for all the world to take
part of. The prison, which was designed for a younger generation, was built to
monitor all inmates at all hours of the day, convert what was once a manual process
to automatic, and to collect personal information from each individual. The lockup is
host to billions of inmates, each having their own cell. One might assume this prison
is a building, but it is more a state of mind. Located in the public s view, where all
can see it each and every day, anyone is able to join and only takes a click of a
mouse. This prison is Facebook. Michel Foucault, a French philosopher, has brought
to attention insights that help clarify how power and discipline work together to
create surveillance for a large group. Foucault passed away before the birth of the
internet, but has provided society with knowledge on how surveillance is applicable
to the online world. In the essay Panopticism, Foucault expands on Jeremy Bentham s
theory of the panopticon. Proposed by Bentham in the mid 19th century, the
panopticon is a prison which was used to observe inmates constantly (Torres,
2017). The prison has a tower in the middle, where each inmate can be seen from
the tower by a guard (Foucault, 1975, 200). Therefore, the prisoners always think
they are being watched as they cannot see who is in the tower, or if there even is
anyone in the tower watching. Foucault describes this in his essay as being the major

Since 2004. Also, looking at Starbucks SEC filings, we can see that its comparable
store
sales have decreased significantly in US markets since 2004. This has prompted

to evaluate Starbucks current strategies in addition to the retail coffee market as a
whole. To
evaluate the problem, one of the biggest questions to consider is to what extent is the
designer
coffee market just a fad. In other words, will the allure of gourmet Starbucks coffee be
maintained or will more appealing options threaten the success of Starbucks primary
product?
If the designer coffee market is indeed a fad industry, we need to evaluate Starbucks
possible options to avoid further decline. The overarching question that we should
answer is how
Starbucks can stay profitable in the future. A good place to start involves evaluating
the current market for coffee; from this point, we can gather information about
market performance and determine the extent to which designer coffee appeals to
current consumers. Through market analysis, we can investigate whether or not the
demand for gourmet coffee is wavering. We will evaluate whether coffee companies
in general are having trouble maintaining profitability or if it

The Historical Reasons Between Natural Science And
Religion
For hundreds even thousands of years since human formed their society and
different ideologies, two invisible walls separate people from each other. The wall
is more historic to be discussed is the one between natural science and religion,
which people disagree with each other on the genesis of the world. According to most
of history events, scienceand religioncannot get along with each other, the reasons
relate to the historical reasons, the different method to measure the world, and the
word faith.
In the centuries of despotism by religion, people struggled, crept out of the chaos of
mind, and then cleaned up their thought, finally entered the new era of natural
science. However, loyal old religious constitutions never let the belief in their
dominion have divarication. As the result, the war of ideologies ... Show more content

One of the grand fundamental principles of Mormonism is to receive truth, let it
come from whence it may. (Smith, J., p.199) According to Joseph Smith s (1965)
discourse, the original purpose of Mormonism is to receive the truth bases on the
foundation of the Bible, where the purpose is the same as science, people research
and study in science literally finding out the truth of the world. Indeed, science and
pure religion have a same target: to reach the truth. The Bible in the old age was
reasonable for people to learn about the universe and anthropology. On the other
hand, science, people apply it as a universal standard to discover the world and the
universe, also called the Weltanschauung. Certainly, science represents the same
spirit as religion. As the result, science and religion both bring principles to this
world: science offers reasonable explanation of the universe with evidences; religion
provides one explanation of the world to its adherent, and any unexplainable
phenomenon and events would be explained as the god s
Pointing Gesture Essay
Although infants understandings about the function of the pointing gesture can be an
important factor to the development of the pointing gesture, there is an ongoing
debate about the cognitive mechanisms underlying the interpretation of the pointing
gesture. With the possible interpretation from the egocentric perspectiveof the infants
or the influence of social interaction, this paper suggests the infants ability to
understanding the function of the pointing gesture based on their shared experiences.
However, based on the results of the earlier studies, the research further examines the
infant s ability to infer the adult s social intention in a more complex setting.
Consequently, the two studies discussed in this paper tested the ability... Show more

Furthermore, based on their ability to distinguish the shared experiences with others,
their ability to distinguish different shared experiences with others in real life
situation can lead to further study. Additionally, the result of these two studies is
consistent with the previous findings and moreover, the difference between the result
of these two studies further emphasize the influence of age, memory and the
complexity of the task in the infant s understanding of the pointing gesture in a social
context. This difference might due to the lower memory capacity of 14 months old
infant in the performance of the complex task. Even though, this study highlights the
role of the shared experience to the infant s interpretation of the pointing gesture, the
function of the shared experiences might depend on the infants understanding of the
pointing gestures as an intentionally communicative cue to interpret the situation.
However, there are many possible confounds in these two studies, especially the gaze
of the experimenter can be an important cue to the infants understanding of the
pointing gesture. Although the researchers eliminated the possibility for the infants
to make an association between the presence

Essay on Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights as it stands for the United States entered as a stems from a vow as

some conditions for their ratification; the appendage of amendments, which would

  • 2. Scotland s Curriculum For Excellence Scotland s Curriculum for Excellence was published in 2004 following the National Debate on Education: AifL in 2002 and the establishment of a curriculum review group in 2003. Since 2004, Curriculum for Excellence has been tried, tested and modified and in 2010 Scottish schools experienced the full implementation of Curriculum for Excellence. Curriculum for Excellence was designed in order to transform Scottish educationand according to Education Scotland, the main aim of Curriculum for Excellence is helping children and young people aged 3 18 years gain the necessary knowledge, skills and attributes for life outside of school. This was put into practise in all learningenvironments by providing a more flexible and enriched education.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many teachers had a positive attitude towards Curriculum for Excellence s ideas and philosophies, however, the practicality of implementation was a major concern for many. In a study recorded by Dr Mark Priestly and Sarah Minty, research found that teachers thought there was a lack of clarity and lack of guidance. This is one of the aspects which created the feeling of implementation being impractical. Teachers frequently complained they were floundering in the dark ...this uncertainty led to feelings of anxiety and insecurity among many. (Priestly and Minty 2012). The research also found that the main area where teachers felt this sense of doubt and uncertainty was within the new assessment system and the new National Qualifications. In order for Curriculum for Excellence s implementation to have gone smoothly it was crucial for teachers and head teachers to be confident in the new system. In the same study by Priestly and Minty, it was found that many teachers were not confident taking forward Curriculum for Excellence. They were not comfortable changing from the old curriculum and this lack of guidance made even the most confident individuals seek reassurance. In schools where the head teacher was affected by this lack of clarity the implementation of Curriculum for Excellence was delayed massively resulting in support for head teachers from the local

The Genome Project Of Any Species The genome sequencing project of any species would not be possible without modern sequencing technologies and the methods described in this thesis, transcriptome and genome resources for whitefly can be rapidly developed which enable exciting research. Methods and results described in this thesis are just examples for any genomeproject, and would suit best to any arthropod that contain bacterial endosymbiont. This concluding chapter summarizes the previous chapters and also outlines the possible future directions for improvements and describes the exciting research studies possible. 8.0.1 What can we do with the transcriptome Chapter 1 began by addressing the research problem and describing the whiteflies that have been studied so far and why the genome of this species is needed. Although, four transcriptomes of different whitefly species have already been published and the data are available to public. These four transcriptomes were compared in Chapter 2 to identify sequence and functional differences across them. The main aim of the Chapter 2 was to obtain a comprehensive transcriptome data set for Asia I species which could effectively used for further analysis in this thesis. In order to capture the complete transcriptome of Asia I species, two different libraries (Normalized and Unnormalized) were generated and sequenced. These combined data sets from two libraries not only led to complete transcriptome resource but also to identifying the abundance and least
  • 5. Galilee Chapter 5-6 Summary 5:1. The end of chapter 4 showed that Jesus was going to teach the Scriptures all over Galilee. One day, the multitudes had gathered to hear Jesus teach Gods word. Jesus not only taught the Scriptures in the synagogue on the Sabbath, but whenever and wherever the opportunity presented itself. 5:2. As the crowd grew and pressed in on Jesus to hear what He was saying, he ended up backed up against the water, and so, not wanting to stand in the water and teach, He decided to get into a boat and teach a little way out from shore. 5:3. The fisherman didn t need their boats while they cleaned the nets, so Jesus got into one of the boats, which was Simon s, and asked him to put out a little from land. When they had let down the net and started to pull it back in, they found that they had caught a great number of fish. So many that their net was breaking. Although it isn t recorded how many fish were caught. 5:7. So as not to break the net and lose all the fish, they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. Even then, there were so many fish, that they filled both the boats and they began to sink. 5:8. The response of Simon Peter to this miracle reveals some of what he may have been thinking when Jesus asked him to let down his nets after he had just finished cleaning them. I called him Simon Peter here, instead of just Simon, because his apostolic nature starting to emerge 5:9. The reason for Peter s confession of sin is that he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken. The miracle caused amazement, which led to the recognition that Jesus had not asked them to do something ridiculous after all. 5:10. Among these others were James and John, the sons of Zebedee. John may have been one of the first followers of Jesus. As fishing partners with Simon, they would have shared in the task of cleaning the nets and hauling in the fish, as well as the potential rewards from such a great
  • 6. The National Football League Is The Most Popular Sport The National Football League is the most popular sport in America. The NFL is the most lucrative sports business in the world by generating 9 billion dollars a year. For whatever reason peoples eyes are glued to the television every Sunday, whether it be to root on their hometown team or to follow their fantasy football team. The league has been under fire for the safety of the players for a very long time, but more so in the last couple of years. The biggest part of the scrutiny is that repeated head trauma can cause long term brain damage. The rules must change in the game of football because it has become too dangerous and creates a long term threat to players. Equipment has improved tremendously over the years to help with the safety... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A helmet hit from Morris Badgro in the 1930 would lay down players with 970 pounds of force and a helmet hit from the current player Holati Ngata unleashes 1700 pounds of force. The National Football League is constantly working on making the game safer. There needs to be a waiver in the contract of the players that prevents them suing the league for any post career health issues. If the players were not part of the National Football League Players Association, a labor union for the players, the waiver would already be in place. The players union says that it would be against the collective bargaining agreement for the NFL to come up with such waiver (cite.) The waiver probably stems from the lawsuits against the NFL by former players. The number of suits continues to grow with the largest one being nearly 800 million dollars. The former players accused the league of hiding the long term effects of concussions and rushing players back onto the field, while profiting from the games violence. There have been multiple players who have been on the NFL s side and said that they would be willing to sign a waiver saying that they would not sue the league if any post football health issues occurred. There have been much needed changes on the field to change the safety of the game. The changes have drawn a lot of criticism. A friend of mine refers to it as the No Fun League instead of the National Football league, but this is what has to happen
  • 7. The Trojan War The Trojan War is a somewhat unusual event in Western Civilization, for the simple fact that it is descended from part mythology, and from part history. The war engaged thousands of men besieging the city of Troy, and eventually spawned a number of classic works of literature as well as the lineage of the city and state of Rome as being descended from the largess of the gods (Vergil, 19 B.C). Thus, it is not surprising to find out that the original impetus for the Trojan Warbegan with Olympian gods and goddesses themselves. As mythology has it, the events that eventually resulted in the Trojan War began when there was a marriage between a sea goddess Thetis and Peleus. This event was well attended by the Olympians, and the goddess of discord and chaos, Eris, was snubbed and not invited to the wedding. Consequently, Eris decided to take revenge by interrupting the ceremonies and tossing out a golden apple that was inscribed to the fairest . The lack of proper nomenclature for the apple made it a target to be sought after by Juno, Athena and Venus, who each claimed to be the fairest and to have ownership of the apple. Zeus decided that he would get Paris, a resident of Troy who was renowned for his beauty, to decide who the fairest was out of this triad. Each of the goddesses attempted to sway Paris judgment by tempting him with gifts to influence his decision. Juno, for example, offered the youth unrestrained power, whereas Athena promised him a horde of wealth. Venus,

  • 10. Identity Issues In The Labour Party New Labour was not a distinctive political phenomenon. New Labour was the re organization of a party in order to win elections. The Labour Party had many identity issues and had lost four elections before the re branding. It will be shown that New Labour was only a rebranding in order to address these issues. The major issues that led to Labour needing the rebranding are the identity crisis and actions taken against the working class. Throughout the span of the Labour party in the 1900 s a dual identity crisis was present, due to the fact that, middle class intellectuals were leading the party rather than actual working class individuals. • 11. Impact Of ISIS On Society It s hard to imagine how anyone reasonably well off in Australia will ever think to join a terrorist organisation like ISIS. Yet, it turns out that this viral disease has spread into the minds of too many people and many have taken themselves over to Syria to fight for a group that regularly beheads people. ISIS has managed to recruit people, mostly young Muslims and persuaded them that the regular beheading of people is better than anything western society stands for. But how? The answer isn t as simple as mental illness, awesome twitter brainwash techniques or the irrefutable promise of cookies. That may be a part of it, but it goes much deeper than that to the fundamental cause common to all young people joining radical terrorist movements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. Explain the Way in Which You Would Establish Ground Rules... Having explored the three methods of setting ground rules during session 2 of PTTLS course, it is evident that for the ground rules to be effective, determining the appropriate method of ground rules setting is crucial to informing how the learners will be likely to respond to the ground rules and how this will later affect the session or sessions to be delivered. The three methods of setting ground rules offer advantages and disadvantages depending on the context of the lesson and the dynamics of the group. For example the teacher led process provides the teacher with a clear set of uniformed rules and offers the teacher an opportunity to consider issues which may otherwise have been overlooked such as the learning environment and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The learners would have no choice but to adhere to the rules as they would be bound by their own principles. This method does fail to acknowledge the teachers experience in understanding the dynamics of groups and how the teacher could provide a valuable contribution to ground rules which consider the needs of individual learners. This method may also inhibit the teacher from delivering an effective lesson as consideration may not have been applied as to whether the rules are suitable for the teaching environment. For instance taking into account the actual content of the lesson to be delivered and forgetting to include the health and safety of the learners. In establishing an effective set of ground rules for my learners, I would consider a method that offers the teacher the opportunity to create a learning environment that is safe, efficient and stimulating for the learner (Armitage, A, et al, Teaching Training in Post Compulsory Education, OU, 2007). This would be implemented through getting the learners to negotiate their own ground rules with assistance from myself. I would take charge of facilitating the discussion to ensure all learners had an opportunity to contribute, and to ensure the inclusion of crucial rules which allow me to effectively
  • 13. Relationship Between Nature And Nature Some people might say that in the modern world nature does not affect us as predominantly as it used to prior to the industrial revolution and thus we don t share a strong bond with nature anymore. However, I strongly disagree with their claim since our history and current society substantiates otherwise. The formal definition of nature is the phenomena of the physical world collectively, i.e, the factors and products of the worlds as opposed to human creations. Even though we, the humans, have decided to exclude ourselves from the definition of nature, we cannot deny the inseparable relationship that exists between us and nature. The relations that nature has with humans is similar to that of the bond between mother and her children. A mother nests her children within her for 9 months and thus becoming an integral part of her for the rest of her life. She nourishes them, takes care of them, stands by their side in every step of the way. No matter what mistakes her children makes, she always forgives and loves them. Since the inception of their relation, they both mutually affecteach other. The way a mother treats her children, shapes and defines their perception the world and the way a child behaves influences their mother s conduct to her children. However, as the children get older and form their own opinions, the often collide and clash with their mother. Their wrongdoings and mistakes may hurt her, yet she cannot stop loving her children. Similarly, nature

Safe injection sites provide a safe place for drug users to inject drugs into their bodies so they do not have to reuse needles and can also be supervised by nurses constantly while they do so. Insite is the sole safe injection site in all of Canada and the expansion of other facilities has been fiercely contested by policy makers not due to empirical criminological evidence, but simply due to one dimensional classical conservatism inspired ideology and illogical hysteria. The fear propagated by the past Conservative government that by assisting drug users by feeding their addiction and by gathering so many law breakers in concentrated areas would correlate to an increased rate in crime. The traditionalistic ideology of the Conservative government mandated them to adamantly oppose the prospect of safe injection sites let alone their expansion into other regions and provinces regardless of the fact that there were no adverse effects for the community in terms of increased crime. Safe injection sites were introduced to Vancouver in 2003 under a special exemption under section 56 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, which was granted by the Liberal government via Health Canada as a desperate means to help resolve the growing health concerns in the area. Alistair Macleod- Modern World Versus Traditional World Essay Modern World versus Traditional World The stories from Alistair Macleod s The Lost Salt Gift of Blood are often related to the lives of the people of the Maritimes who are commonly miners, fishermen and farmers. The author repeatedly examines similar themes and issues in his short stories such as isolation, choices versus consequences and the concept of dying culture. However, the most prominent theme deals with the contrast between the rural ways of life and the more modern city life. The Golden Gift of Grey deals with the same theme; however, it is set within Northern America. Throughout the story there are examples proving the more traditional ways of life such as, They did not know the aching loneliness of which it spoke and when it floated from the windows of the house on warm summer nights it branded their parents indelibly as hillbillies and they themselves as well. Their forbidden relationship is threatened as Vespasian reaches the height of his political career. Caenis was but a footnote mentioned in history which Davies has sanctified into a wonder woman without whom Vespasians career could not have possibly succeeded. This obvious glorification of a story is an example of a bias used to make a tale more interesting, and the lack of historical sources commenting on Caenis only proves that she is nowhere near as important as Davis makes her out to be. Dubus style of writing the events out of order also contributes to the way the characters are portrayed as the story progresses. The development of the characters is shown through a different perspective using flashbacks and backstories as well. The interpretation of Killings is based up on how the reader responds to Dubus use of disordered chronology, flashback, backstory, and the somewhat of a resolution at the end with the conversation between Matt and Ruth. For example, people who have ever had any interaction with Stout are described as having multiple images of him, the high school running back, the young drunk in bars, the oblivious hard hatted young man eating his lunch at a counter, the bartender who could perhaps be called courteous but not more than that. (64) These images of Strout aren t very surprising and give somewhat of an understanding towards why he is the way he is at the time of the murder. On the other hand, the background on Strout has a slight sympathetic tone, although not one significant enough to justify the reason he murdered Frank. One notable flashback was the scene illustrating the moment Richard shot Frank. Dubus places this description right in the middle of the story with no warning, writing, Richard Strout shot Frank in front of the boys. They were sitting on the living room floor...Frank sitting on the couch, and Mary Ann just returning from the kitchen with a tray of sandwiches. (67) The scene here is portrayed very innocently, making any sympathy felt for Richard from the background disappear. Richard s character is automatically negative after this moment. The murder description is also important because it is another justification that could be used for Matt s

While the narrator is initially baffled by Sonny s dream to become a musician, towards the end of the short story, he recognizes that Sonny depends on music and that it is a driving force in his life, possibly one of the only things that keep him alive. Sonny s Blues opens with news that Sonny has been recently apprehended during a drug bust, which establishes that Sonny has had an ongoing problem with drug addiction, specifically heroin. After time, these animals escaped from captivity and their population began to increase dramatically. Feral pigs have a huge negative impact on the native vegetation, environment and agriculture. They have very destructive habits when feeding and foraging. They can cause erosion of soil and fouling of watering points with their wallowing. Feral pigs need satisfactory supplies of food, water and shelter for protection against extremes of temperature. • 41. The Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms School uniforms have both negative and positive feedback. Some view it as promoting conformity, or taking away a student s individuality. It is always a fear to both parents and students to have the liberties promised to them striped away just because of their age or for the sake of being educated. This is why many families took these cases to court on the behalf of the minor in their custody. Others tend to view it as a way to make things better for students. They want to enforce that equality but at the same time embrace differences. They want uniforms to decrease judgment and discrimination among students. They want student to behave according to societies standards. They don t want any malice or jealousy due to a few differences. They want the uniform to keep things orderly. The School Board s purpose for enacting the uniform policy is to increase test scores and reduce disciplinary problems throughout the school system, the appeals court wrote in Canady. This purpose is in no way related to the suppression of student speech. (findlaw/us 5th circuit) The school system won and it was decide that the uniform policy was not a violation of the student s first or fourteenth amendment rights. Also it was brought up that the uniforms actually help with behavior and test scores. Uniforms are becoming increasingly more popular in the states due to that specific reason. Uniforms which were 1st seen in private schools here in the US have public schools readily following the trend. The dress codes now enforced by majority schools believe it restricts students use of clothing as an element of contemporary communicative intake. It is therefore used as a precaution to keep gang violence, and crime rate down. The implementation of uniforms was to increase student success, and deter bad behavior. Their has yet to be a link that suggest a substantial connection between the school uniform policies and student achievement. Generally, the RKN lay eggs into a GM that is secreted via six rectal glands located around the female anal consists of protein, carbohydrate and certain enzymes (Bird Rogers, 1965; Bird Soeffky, 1972) and the laid eggs become enveloped in the GM completely. Furthermore, the egg shells consists of three distinctive layers in which the outermost layer is a protein (vitelline) followed by a chitinous layer and finally the innermost layer is lipid. Since proteins and carbohydrates are apparently the common components of the egg shell and GM, it was hypothesized that the factor(s) altered the eggs shell and GM morphologically is mainly affecting proteins that might be denatured and lost their functions. However, the color change and protein denaturation could be only indirect consequences of secretion of other factors. The suppression ability of P.vermicola suggests production of a secondary metabolite(s) that might be responsible for the inhibitory effect against RKN. Foucault passed away before the birth of the internet, but has provided society with knowledge on how surveillance is applicable to the online world. In the essay Panopticism, Foucault expands on Jeremy Bentham s theory of the panopticon. Proposed by Bentham in the mid 19th century, the panopticon is a prison which was used to observe inmates constantly (Torres, 2017). The prison has a tower in the middle, where each inmate can be seen from the tower by a guard (Foucault, 1975, 200). Therefore, the prisoners always think they are being watched as they cannot see who is in the tower, or if there even is anyone in the tower watching.
