The HERE Project from 2008-2011 studied student retention and found that doubting students, or those unsure about continuing their studies, were less likely to continue than non-doubting students. The project surveyed 3,000 students, audited 10 programs, and conducted a literature review to identify reasons for doubting and strategies to help doubters complete their studies. Key recommendations included reducing feelings of doubt, providing early feedback and support from staff, and demonstrating the long-term benefits of degree programs to improve student satisfaction and retention.
