screen and break apart the struggles and decisions Burton made while directing. While I agree with
Hoffman, who noted this film is Tim Burton s best in 20 years (2016), there are some scenes that left
me confused and upset. To begin breaking down the adaptation, it must first be placed in a category.
This category tells us which form of adaptation it is and what we can expect under these
circumstances. I, personally, categorize this as a pluralist adaptation. During my screening of the film,
I spent a good chunk of my time looking for the analogies and similarities between the two. This made
it much easier to pick out the differences that lead me to conclude that the adaptation was pluralist in
nature. I also noticed how the film stuck quite closely to the novel s spirit, this made the film more
inviting and accurate. Riggs himself said in an interview that [Burton] took the ideas I had and made

Solar cells, or photovoltaic cells, transform light, usually sunlight, into electric current. Few power
generation technologies are as clean as photovoltaics (PV). Photovoltaic comes from the words photo
meaning light and volt, a measurement of electricity. Sometimes photovoltaic cells are called PV cells
or solar cells for short. As it silently generates electricity, PV produces no air pollution or hazardous
waste. It doesn t require liquid or gaseous fuels to be transported or combusted as sunlight is free and
abundant. Because PV systems burn no fuel and have no moving parts, they are clean and silent,
producing no atmospheric emissions or greenhouse gases to cause detrimental effects on our water,
air, and soil. Compared with electricity generated from fossil fuels, each PV produced kilowatt
eliminates up to 830 pounds of nitrogen oxides, 1,500 pounds of sulfur dioxide, and 217,000 pounds
of carbon dioxide, every year, according to National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) research.

Music genres can be split into categories for what genders are dominating the majority of their
listeners. Heavier music such as rap and rock seem to appeal more to a young male because of the
reoccurring themes of aggression and independence. Whereas lighter music normally involves themes
of emotion and love which a girl can better relate too. As mentioned above, I believe age, ethnicity,
culture, and genetics all play a role in musical preference, but gender should not be left out. While

What makes Augustine s Confessions memorable
Augustine s Confessions was a major piece of work that heavily influenced the religion back in his
times. Augustine s Confessions is still read today because of the relatability it shows in aspects of
depression, love, and finding your identity. Throughout the book Augustine goes through his life and
the decisions he has made and how they made him either a better or worse person. We can use
Augustine s Confessions as a tool to also evaluate our own lives and decisions because of the way he
judges himself and what he considers to be the best and worst things he has done and why. Augustine
goes through trying to find himself through things of the world and then finally realizes why he can
not when he steps back and looks at the fact that he must first find himself in God.
Augustine finds himself going through hard times throughout the Confessions and this includes the
struggle with depression. Augustine loses one of his very close friends and begins to become
