Comparison Of The Youngstown City School District
The two district I chose to compare to the Youngstown City School District are Canton School and
Mansfield School Districts. As I was going through the report cards I was not surprised at the
similarities between Canton Schools and Youngstown, due to the fact that they are both city school
districts. However, I was surprised with the scores from the Mansfield s report card, and I am not
sure why?
Below is a breakdown/comparison of the three school districts:
As I compiled this report looking at the overall report card these three districts are very similar.
They all received an overall F on their State Report Card but there were a few differences that
stood out to me. First is the K 3 Literacy, Youngstown received a... Show more content on

In YCSD it seems that Students with Disabilities are the students who move the most, while CCSD
has both Limited English and the Hispanic students are the most mobile and MCSD the Limited
English population that is most mobile.
When looking at District Report Cards all we usually hear about is student data, not realizing
that there is also teacher data reported in this document. Looking over the data as a whole the
schools are pretty similar in teacher data. Attendance was at between 93% and 94%, while
teacher students ratio per 1000 students was lower than the state average in all schools. Teacher
s average pay was within $5000.00, MCSD was the lowest at $52,000.00 and CCSD being the
highest at $57,000.00. Looking at teacher and principal evaluations YCSD and MCSD had no
teachers with an Effective evaluation, the highest percentage of teachers fell under Accomplished
in evaluations. As for principals YCSD and MCSD principals were either Accomplished or
Skilled, the majority were Skilled, in all Districts. As for CCSD, they had no one Accomplished,
but they did have Developing and Effective.
Finance was the final section of the report I looked at and YCSD spends the most per pupil, over
$11,000 while the other two districts between $8800 and $9400 and about 65% of that are spent on
classrooms.
Looking through these report cards from an administrative lens , I was looking at more than just
the final grade, I looked deeper into the subgroups

The Threat Of The Industrial Control System
NIST SP800 82 section 3.2 contains a table showing Adversarial Threats to ICS. For your
discussion this week, you need to pick two of these and explain it in your own words. You also need
to include an explanation of the potential risks to ICS s due to the threats. This means the impacts,
consequences, and likelihood associated with each threat type. If possible, include an example of
the threats. There are many threats which have the potential to impact industrial control systems.
These threats can vary in type and in the potential risks and impacts to the industrial control system.
Understanding the threats to industrial control systems along with the threats risks, impact,
consequences, and likelihood is essential for proper riskassessment. Preforming risk assessment on
industrial control system is essential for ensuring their security and reducing the risk of attackto a
level which is within the organization risk tolerance for their industrial control systems. One of
common threat agent to industrial control system now days is foreign intelligence agency. These
are government agencies and government sponsored groups which are well trained and equipped
with the tools to gather information and perform attacks against industrial control systems. These
groups use all of the same tactics as cyber criminals such as social engineering, spam, malware,
spyware, and other malicious software and tactics to commit espionageand intelligence gathering

Inhumanity In Lord Of The Flies
In the Roman Empire, England, France, and the Middle East, ever since people have been around,
there has always been conflict and fighting. A common theme in war is inhumanity. For example,
in World War I mustard gas would produce terrible blisters on soldiers who were exposed to it.
Empathy for those suffering young men was not presentin those causing the pain. While war is
still ongoing in the world, Europe is much more peaceful today then it was a hundred years ago
and people in general are being taught to resolve conflict in a humane way. Since William Golding
wrote Lord of the Flies there have been many improvements in society over the last 70 years. While
William he was alive, teenagers were often mean and inhumane like those portrayed... Show more

Golding would be fascinated and satisfied to know that society today accepts people s differences
and tries to help them out, something that didn t happen in the 1950s. Nowadays, people are willing
to help others when something tragic arises. In Lord of the Flies a plane crashes and the boys
aboard are forced to survive on the deserted island. Ralph, the original leader, needs to build
shelter but he ends up, working with Simon and No one else while the rest of the boys are
bathing, or eating, or playing (Golding, 50). These lines suggest that during the 1950s, and in
the Lord of the Flies , people were not likely to help each other. Since Golding is a religious man,
he would not appreciate that people do not help each other (Kruger, 90). In recent history,
Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, causing immense flooding and damage. Texas is different from the
rest of the United States culturally, yet people from around the country were able to put aside
these differences and help those in need. For example, Anheuser Busch stopped its beer production
in order to make cans of water for those in need. Though this cost the company profit, they were
willing to sacrifice their prosperity simply to help others. Golding would be surprised

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Report
The name of the disease that I have selected to write this disease paper about is acute respiratory
distress syndrome. Acute respiratory distress syndrome according to our text book Respiratory
Care Principles and Practice by Dean Hess states that acute respiratory distress syndrome is
characterized by the abrupt onset of respiratory distress; associated with severe hypoxemia and
diffuse pulmonary opacities on chest radio graph that are not caused by congestive heart failure
or volume over load; Pao2 200 MMHG. (Hess, 1287). Acute respiratory distress syndrome is
respiratory insufficiency marked by progressive hypoxemia due to severe inflammatory damage
causing abnormal permeability of the alveolocapillary membrane. The alveoli fill with fluid, which
interferes with gas exchange. ETIOLOGY according to Taber s medical dictionary, acute respiratory
distress syndrome can typically be a result of or from trauma to the lungs for example in situations
like near drowning, aspiration of gastric acids, and severe lung infection or systemic disorder.
Shock, septicemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, cardiopulmonary bypass or reaction to
blood transfusions. Widespread damage to the alveolocapillary membranes is initiated through the
aggregation and activity of neutrophils and macrophages and the activation of complement.
Cytokines, oxygen free radicals, and other inflammatory mediators damage the walls of capillaries
and alveoli, producing diffuse inflammatory interstitial

Abstract. The Playfair cipher is a manual symmetric encryption technique and was the first literal
digraph substitution cipher. The cryptanalysis of the Playfair cipher is also aided by the fact
that a diagram and its reverse will encrypt in a similar fashion. The paper proposes to encrypt
/decrypt by choosing 216 ASCII characters out of 256 ASCII characters. The 216 characters
includes the most frequently popularly usable characters like 26 upper lower case alphabets, 10
numerals and 154 most commonly used special characters of ASCII character set. 40 special
characters that are less frequently used are exempted. 2D Playfair cipher is a case sensitive
cipher, as it requires only 26 alphabets rather than 52 alphabets (including lower and upper case
both). The theme of this paper is to provide security for the data that contains a wider coverage of
alphabets numerals and special characters in compare to 2D playfair cipher.

Stereotypes In India And Australia s Use Of Technology
Society and Culture Secondary Research
Introduction
India and Australia s Use of Technology
Today, India and Australia s use of technology is particularly similar. Both countries have access to
high speed internet connection, wireless broadband, the latest mobile phones, computers, tablets
and televisions. However, access to these technologies is scarce and often unaffordable in rural
areas in India, as well as rural areas in Australia. Today, India has 243 million internetusers and is
the world s second largest Internet user after China, (Fontevecchia, 2014), while Australia is the
world s 31st largest internet user with 18 million internet users. India now has nearly 74 million

These stereotypes include prejudices surrounding certain professions Indians may have such as
taxi drivers, store owners, computer geeks or doctors. For example, NBC aired an episode of
Caroline in the City, where Caroline s neighbour did not want to see a doctor who wore a turban.
(Somani, 2008). This episode perpetuates the image that there may be something wrong with
Indian Sikhs, and therefore, this message is communicated into society and can form the basis of
stereotypes against Indians and Sihks. Another example of a stereotypical Indian portrayed on
television is the character of Apu, from The Simpsons, who is portrayed as a store owner with a
thick Indian accent. (Somani, 2008). As The Simpsons is quite popular among adolescence, the
character of Apu can form the basis of stereotypes regarding

Spider Man 2 Essay
Directed by Sam Raimi, this film had great potential. Finally anticipated villains and new ideas
were going to be set up into the film. But unfortunately trying to please all the fans of the films
backfired. Too many characters lead to an unclear story. The unclear story affected vague themes
that were trying to be shown. As a sequel to spider man 2, this filmwas caught in its own weird,
wacky, web.
The story is set in modern times New York. It carries on from the previous two films; Spiderman
1 and 2. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who is Spiderman is finally back with M.J. (Mary Jane

You only need to see this film once to understand that it is disappointing. It is overloaded with
villains, so the only way to develop their own character is to push others aside. Sam Raimi
wanted sandman. But the studio and fans wanting venom; Harry is just another villain.
Although having the best set up to be the main villain of the three, Harry s part in the film is
pushed around. For example he gets amnesia in order for other characters to be focused on. The
amnesia completely changes Harry to become a happy person. This undermines the director s
purpose of having Harry as a villain. Villains are not meant to be joyous and dancing. Raimi s
intentions of showing Harry as fearsome and intimidating were contradicted. After Sandman is
out of the picture, Harry s memory is back and now he s evil again. Which leads us back to the
point that this film is all over the place with flaws. What did his character gain from amnesia?
Nothing. Then after this Harry becomes a good guy again. Harry s character is being spun about
for the sake of other characters. It also seems like the screenwriters can t decide what to do with

Memories That May Hurt Their Friends More
memories that may hurt their friend more. Jettowyne, (The Compassionate Friends, 2011,
November 4), stated, Friends don t want to say your child s name, because they think it will make
you feel bad . Being open and asking or commenting on the child is essential in the healing process
and showing support.
Other important ways to comfort a friend is by acknowledging the child s death. Crying with the
parent(s). Being available for additional childcare or rides to the funeral home. It is also important
to respect each parent s grief process.
The American Cancer Society (2015) reports some key ways to assist a friend when they are

Marital Partner
The intimate relationship between partners is the core of one s being. Miller (2012), states, Our
relationships with others are a central aspect in our lives . This centrality enables one s world
views to be positive and secure. Partner s world views are often similar and goals are shared.
When parenting occurs between partners a new life is given to the couple and new hopes and
dreams transpire. When a couple has a child, life is full and lasting.
It is the natural progression of life that transpires as one age s one move closer to death. The
unnatural progression is when a child dies before their parents. Parents do not expect to live
longer than their child. When a child dies, life and longevity are in question and the future for
the parents is depressive and absent. Events such as the death of one s child forces a new look
into the future. The world view becomes altered and a fracture can occur in how each partner see
s their future. How a couple deals with the death and empathizes with each other are key factors
in the strength and coping of the death. Parents who have lost a child report, there are no real
words that can accurately describe what if feels like to loss a child. (The Compassionate Friend,
2011).

I Was Driving Home From School Essay
I was driving home from school when all the sudden I see a light flashing on the dash of my car.
It was the oil light telling me that it was time to have an oil change, so instead of driving home I
went straight to the toyota dealership because at the time I drove a Toyota Landcruiser. When I
got there they handed me a clipboard full of information i needed to fill out. It took me a full ten
minutes to complete and even after all that they still handed me more papers to write my
signature on, I thought to myself, all that for a simple oil change . After finally completing all
the paperwork a man took me to the dealerships waiting room and told me that my oil change
should not take long. I was happy to hear that because I wanted to be on my way. I only expected
to be there for 25 to 30 minutes, so after 20 minutes I started looking at the door hoping someone
would walk in and tell me they finished the oil change. Ten minutes later and still nothing. I was
getting very impatient and I was starting to work an appetite. The worst part is they had the food
channel on and no remote for me to change the channel with, so i got up and went to go find a
vending machine. Near the car displays they had a popcorn machine so i scooped myself a
small bag full. The popcorn was super salty and stale and what made it even worse was there was
no water to be found. So now i m sitting back in the waiting room hungry and thirsty with a bag of
uneaten popcorn, and still no word about my car. A

Cross Country Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poem Analysis
Cross Country: A Book Of Australian Verse second edition was published in 1988. Edited by
John Barnes and Brian McFarlane. It contains a comprehensible and thought provoking selection
of Australian poetry from the early years of European settlement to the present. A common
thread that connects numerous poems in the Cross Country anthology is the contrast between
what the past was and what it is now. This is shown through the loss of aboriginal culture and
past times. Each poem expresses a different scenario or memory about the loss of indigenous
culture and how the past was a noble past, as compared to the present. Oodgeroo Noonuccal s We
are Going, portrays the deep feelings of loss shown through the poem towards the aboriginal
culture. The poem is written from a straightforward point of view that is easy to decipher. As the
poem progresses it goes through what the aboriginal community has lost because of the settlers
and how they are strangers to their land, we are as strangers here now, but the white tribe are the
strangers . Noonuccal begins the elegy in the third person explain the loss, they came into the little

Archetypes In The Film Big
Archetypes are a recurring actions or attributes that represent definitive events in a person s life or
a specific character. They are universal emblems in literature that correspond to various aspects of
human, behavior, and culture. They are usually incorporated, by writers to symbolize relationships
between divergent charterers, situations or symbolically natural opposites. They are a major
factor in writing literature because they help shape a piece of literature. Archetypes are a major
part they help illuminate the purpose of different characters and bonds between each other. The
film Big is a classic film due to, the captivating idea of turning a boy into a man and the use of
specific archetypes such as mentors, earth mother, star crossed lovers and much more. It also is an

Contributions Of Albert Einstein
Throughout the ancient times known as history, there have been many influential people. For,
example, individuals influence the world by protesting what is right, discovering something new, or
using their resources to help others with their generosity. Categorically, Albert Einstein is someone
who overshadows all the other influential people in the world. Albert Einsteinis influential because
of his accomplishments within all of his awards, his pivotal moments within his career, and his
contributions to society with his inventions.
Albert Einstein is influential because of his very many accomplishments. For example, according to

Fingerprint Analysis In Criminal Investigation
Every day, individuals touch countless objects and each time an object is touched an individual s
fingerprints are left behind. For more than one hundred years, fingerprint analysis has been used by
law enforcement to identify suspects in order to solve crimes. One of the most important uses of
fingerprint analysis is to assist investigators when they need to link two crimescenes to the same
individual. Fingerprintanalysis also assist investigators with obtaining an individual s criminal
record and any previous arrest they have had. A fingerprint is an impression left by the friction

Guns are one of the first things that people turn to, but what they don t know is that it eventually

a symbol of peace making. He shot them because the Land family was a nice calm family until

Study Of Data Mining Algorithm For Cloud Computing
ABSTRACT
This technical paper consists of the study of data mining algorithm in cloud computing. Cloud
Computing is an environment created in user s machine from online application stored in clouds
and run through web browser. Therefore, it is essential to manage user s data efficiently. Data
mining also known as knowledge discovery is the process of analyzing data from different
perspectives and summarizing it into useful information where the information can be used to
increase revenue, cut costs of implementation and maintenances, or all. Data mining software and/or
algorithms is one of a number of analytical tools for analyzing data. It allows users to analyze
data from many different dimensions or angles, categorize it, and summarize the relationships
identified. Technically, data mining is the process of finding correlations or patterns among
dozens of fields in large relational databases. The process of mining data can be done in many
ways; this paper discusses the theoretical study of two algorithms K means and Apriori, their
explanation using flow chart and pseudo code, and comparison for time and space complexity of
the two for the dataset of an Online Retail Shop .

Looking At The Angel Capital Group
Angel investors are another way to start a business, like banks and venture capitalists. It is their job
to invest, they just have different evaluations to make an investment worth their attention. Looking
at the Angel Capital Group will expose the evaluations they use, and give ideas weather or not an
angel investoris right for the business one seeks to have funded (Angel Capital Group, 2015).
Understanding their proximity, value, experience and other factors will help define what the
angel investor is all about (Bell, 2007). Putting other factual information together along with
what the angel is and what they are looking for will give a picture of what the possibilities are
for this type of endeavor. Where is the angel investor and where is the business? The angel wants
to feel close to the business, at least, if not be right next door so they can check in easily (Bell,
2007). Just like mom can be a pain because she knows so much about her baby, the angel wants
to make sure you are healthy and on a righteous path. They are here to help the business grow and
become all it can be, and have an interest in giving the entrepreneur help to do just that (Angel
Capital Group, 2015). They can help with contacts, advertising, legal aspects, and many other
things that might be harder to get at all by oneself. Why trust an angel investor, and what can they

Last Day Of High School
The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On
the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I
get my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes
ready to get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to
lunch and then we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside
with the Medical club. In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different
Affordable Care Acts (ACA) proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break
even more.
At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I
made plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my
niece s first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined.
For the first week of my break, I was sick. I winded up catching both the flu and strep throat, I
thought my Christmas break would be ruined, but it wasn t. During the time that I was sick, I got to
plan which Christmas gifts to get my family members instead of waiting until the last moment, and
everyone winded up loving their gifts. Due to the fact of me being sick, I couldn t go anywhere;
which meant no chores, no being told to get out the house; I actually had time to relax. While
relaxing I caught on my Netflix shows and my sleep.

Chen et al., 2014; H. Chen, 2014; Li et al., 2014; Sandhya Devi, 2013) for answering top k
queries. The safe interval which used for getting the top k data points computed only in
(Sandhya Devi, 2013). This safe interval speeds up the query response time because it used for
getting the top k data points without the examination of all points for inclusion in TOPK. Also,
there is no need to build the Voronoi Diagram (VD) as in (Li et al., 2014) or to build SWTP tree
as (H. Chen, 2014). In addition, updating the safe intervals is easier than updating nodes in (H.
Chen, 2014; Li et al., 2014). In (Li et al., 2014) it is important to build the Voronoi Diagram (VD)
to answer the bi chromatic reverse k nearest neighbor (BRkNN) query without the need to
compute the BRkNN answer set for each data point. Li et al. (2014) address the k nearest
neighbors answers which not addressed in the rest. Thus algorithms which proposed in (Li et al.,
2014) outperform the rest in location based applications. Quantile filter based algorithm in (B.

Freud Ego And Super Ego
Freud was an Austrian neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis; he was born on 6th May
1856 and died 23rd September 1939 in London. Freud developed psychoanalysis which looked
into dreams, fantasies and someone s free association. The psychodynamic approach looks into
the unconscious (unware) and how this effects behavior and the conscious (aware) and the
relation between them in our mind (psyche). Freud s theories about child sexuality, ego s and
what makes us tick were most influential in the 20th century. Psychodynamic approach bases its
theory on three unconscious structures known as Id, ego and super ego. Id is the impulsive part
of the structure, following basic animal instincts of indulgence. If the psyche has a strong id,
the person would have no regard for other people, would be confrontational, would be driven by
sexual impulses and would not fit in well with society. The super ego is the opposite of id, it is
the conscience stating the right and wrong and repressive of any confrontation. If someone has a
strong super ego it is likely that they would be very withdrawn and anxious with no confidence.
Ego is the part of the psyche that adapts to the environment; it judges what is acceptable in certain
social situations and control the id and the super ego for a healthy balance. Freud states that these
structures of the psyche are developed in early childhood years and the ego continues to develop
as we grow older. Due to the early development stages Freud assumes

Misunderstood Heating Fuels
Americans have been using heating oil to keep their homes and offices warm for decades, but it
remains one of the most misunderstood heating fuels. While most people are familiar with oil,
not many know about oil heat or how it compares to other petroleum products. The type of
heating system to use in a person s home is an important decision for anyone to make, and once it
s installed it will neither be easy nor cheap to modify. For this reason, it is necessary that you
know the facts about oil heat and how to differentiate them from myth. Residents and businesses in
Norwich, CT, and surrounding areas get their supply of discount oil from Norwich Discount Oil.
Here are a few facts and fiction regarding heating oil that you should know: It

Food Waste Of Food
In 2012, enough food was discarded at the retail and consumer levels alone to provide 2,000 kcal
per day to 84% of the US adult population (Spiker et al). In comparison to this fact, it is also
estimated that 14.6 percent of US households are labeled food insecure (Bartfield et al). It is
deeply concerning that a large portion of the US population faces hunger on a daily basis while so
much foodis being wasted just at the consumer and retail levels. Furthermore, this wasted food
does not account for the food that never even sees the market due to over production food deemed
unfit for the market, spillage, etc. This means there is even more food wasted that could provide for
the hungry.
Food waste, meaning any food product produced and not consumed, occurs at three main levels:
production, retail, and consumer. Losses in production occur when food is discarded before
arriving at its destination after leaving the farm. Losses in retail occur when food is discarded
before being sold to restaurants or individuals. Finally, consumer losses occur when any food is
discarded after the retail level. Various reasons for discarding food on any level include but are
not limited to spoilage, aesthetics (e.g. bruising, coloring, size, shape), overproduction or over
purchasing, and damaged packaging. It should also be noted that a difficulty arises when
analyzing food loss because of inedible parts of food. For example, meat sold bone in consists of a

Compare And Contrast Hardin And Ostrom
The Tragedy of the Commons by Garrett Hardin and A General Framework for Analyzing
Sustainability of Social Ecological Systems by Elinor Ostrom both offer perspectives on the way
humans interact with common pool resources, as well as the property regimes that govern them.
A Common Pool Resource (CPR) is defined by Dietz as a valued natural resource that is available
to more than one person and subject to degradation as a result of overuse. (Hagerman, 2014 a).
Hardin offers a perspective on CPRs through analogies to commons , areas of open access where
there is an absence of well defined property rights [and] access is unregulated and open to anyone.
(Hagerman, 2014a) He explains a scenario where multiple herders own cattle, which all graze on
one common plot of land. The herders weigh the benefits and costs of adding one more cow, and
going beyond the carrying capacity of the commons. If one herder adds a cow, the cost is
subtracted evenly from the well being of the all herders. The benefits, however, are realised
uniquely by the herder who added the cow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Dietz et al., 2003; Monbiot, 1994; Ostrom, 2009) Ostrom s paper examines the diverse
outcomes of the commons, as supposed to Hardin s one size fits all . (Ostrom et al., 2009, p.
419) This way of looking at the possible outcomes of CPRs differs from Hardin s in that it takes
into account different social and economic variables, whereas Hardin bases his perspective
uniquely off of real life examples, such as that of the high seas. She introduces the Social
Ecological System (SES), which is a framework for examining the different roles, variables, and
context that all play into the maintenance or collapse of an ecosystem. (Ostrom, 2009) SESs are
made up of (i) resource units...(ii) resource systems... (iii) governance systems... and (iv) users
(Ostrom, 2009, p.420) who all interact, and play certain roles in the outcome of an ecosystem.

Effect Of The On A Sport Event
Firstly, he depicts the multiplier used by each of the impact studies. A multiplier is a coefficient,
which displays the multiplier effect on the economy when visitors spend money on a sport event.
The money spent in the host community will launch a ripple effect, thus converting the direct
impact of the spending into indirect and induced impacts on the economy. A higher multiplier
suggests, that more of the initial injection of money into the economy stays within without leaking
out of the local economy. Consequently a higher multiplier leads to a higher economic impact
(Crompton 1995). An example of how the multiplier works is shown in Figure 2. The figure
assumes that visitors spend $10.000 due to the sport franchise, at four different establishments. The
hotel serves as an example for how these establishments further distribute the initial injection of
money. The money that stays within the local economy is spent in the same five ways over and
over as successive rounds of spending occur (Crompton 1995).

Authors of a community guide to tourism development cited by Crompton (1995) suggest that 90%

Crompton s found misapplications alter the multiplier directly, such as using the sales instead of the
income multiplier or using the incremental rather than the normal approach to derive the coefficient

Affixed to the glass ceiling are maple leaf seeds, that are often seen blowing in the wind; they

was kidnapped by Irish pirates and he had to work as a slave for six years tending sheep. St.
Patrick confessed that he discovered god during his captivity. He prayed a hundred times a day that

how the Internet is changing the way people buy and sell goods. We saw an opportunity in the
movie rental industry and decided to provide a novel product and service from the convenience of

One way to manage this would be to own quality relative to industry standards. Another critical
success factor from the customer s point of view would be price. Netflix has to keep a relatively
low price to make them stand out from traditional rental stores. One way to measure this would
be to own a price lower that that relative to traditional rental stores. As technology changes so do
some of the products that we carry. When blu ray movies were chosen as the standard for high
definition movies our inventory had to reflect that. As sales of blu ray improved we should
watch what percent of sales come from these discs. There are also critical success factors that
come from internal capabilities. When dealing with Netflix we have to make sure that we are very
efficient. Customers will expect to get their DVD s promptly. To make sure we are doing this we
monitor the cycle time. Also within the company we need to track the number of new customers
we get. To do this we should measures the amount of new people that sign up for Netflix. Now
focusing our attention to the critical success factors of innovation. When looking at this, the one
thing that stands out is market leadership. There are few other DVD by mail companies that can
compete with Netflix. Our market share measures this. When looking at critical success factors
from the financial perspective there are two things that stand out. The first being Netflix sales. We

The Prisoner Of Chillon, By Lord Byron
The Prisoner of Chillon, by Lord Byron essentially begins with a man who finds himself
imprisoned in Chillon s dungeon. He relived his father s persecution for his belief, in turn, leads
to his capture and death. He goes on about his three oldest brothers killed by being burned and
staked, as well as executed for their stance, just as their father was. He and his two youngest
brothers live imprisoned in Chillon, while his second youngest brother dies first. He describes
his second youngest brother as, He was a hunter of the hills, / Had followed there the deer and
wolf; /To him this dungeon was a gulf, /And fetter d feet the worst of ills. (Lines 103 106). He
could not handle being imprisoned, he longed for freedom, which in turn broke his spirit, heart,
mind, and so he lost his strength and the will to keep going in life.
After time passes, his father s beloved youngest son dies. He faded, and so calm and meek, / So
softly worn, so sweetly weak, / So tearless, yet so tender kind, (Lines 187 189). He is the only
survivor, and yet begins to give up on life. The prisoner reflects on his last youngest brother s
passing away in peace. That even in suffering his brother held on to who he is and that being
imprisoned would not break him, nor the sickness that was killing him. Yet, the pain torments the
prisoner s mind, of how alone he is and how he could do nothing to save his brother. As the oldest

The Key Aspects Of The Relationship Between Poverty And...
This policy report will identify and discuss the evidence towards the key aspects of the
relationship between abuse and neglect and the greater economic hardship which will have an
impact on poverty and how this affects the chance of a child being abused or neglected. Looking
at the evidence it is clear to see that there is a strong link associated between poverty and a child
suffering from abuse and neglect.
Introduction and context
According to NSPCC there are more than 50,000 children in the UK are abused and neglected
annually, this estimates that there are 8 children suffering abuse for every one child that is
identified. This is a strong link between socio economic circumstances of families and the chances
of the child experiencing abuse and neglect. This association extends across all developed countries,
different types of abuse and culture variation depending on the culture however definitions and
research methods deem equal to both poverty and child protection systems.
The families socio economic circumstances affect the relationship across the whole of society and
not just a simple divide of poverty. This then has a poor outcome in relation to the child s
inequalities to health and education and provides a link between the likelihood of abuse and neglect
with the greater economic hardship.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines child abuseas all forms of physical and/or emotional
ill treatment, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment or commercial

First, the question itself was based on the premise that Hell does exist, which we know most of the
scientists do not agree, as well as the existence of Heaven and God/gods. And since Hell is not to
be found in a place where we can probe, and no one has ever been there and came back, nobody

Huckleberry Finn Analysis
All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn.
(Hemingway). In the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, the novel is all
about creating something new from rejecting the old and having some hatred and violence.
Moreover In America, there are a lot of people who are seeking for a change and when they
achieve it there is a great amount of hatred and jealousy created against them because of that
change, and then people lead to violence.
American literature always tends to create something new, they have violence in it and the The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the best example of it. In the article Main Characteristics Of
American Literature by Luka Malgaj states that, Rejected the old in order to create something new
(Malgaj).
New writers often tend to reject the old type of literature and change it to create a new type of
literature, this is what Twain wanted and he did so. He used the dialogues in his novel in the exact
same pronunciation to show realism. He wanted his audience to feel the same as him while writing
the novel. He is setting a scene for everyone to feel the situation so we get more interested in it.
Rejected the old in order to create something new
As we know that American literature is vast and has a lot of examples of the great passion of
writing and showing their best examples of their own perspective upon America and the whole
world. Twain also wanted to make a change in the

Through an understanding of the needs of the audience, practical information and anecdotes, and

biggest advantages in this essay is an acute understanding of the preconceptions and bad reputation
around dumpster diving and the people who do it and the needs of the audience in order to take
him, and his story, seriously. Because, as a culture, we perceive the homeless, and by extension,
those who dumpster dive, as filthy, uneducated, and simple, it is vital for Eighner to present
himself as well educated, even intellectual. He does this right from the beginning by revealing
some of his own backstory. He tells of his early interest in dumpsters and how he approached the
subject by writing to Merriam Webster to better understand the origins of the word dumpster . This
shows Eighner s intellectual approach to the subject, building his credibility as an intelligent person.
It also shows the seriousness that Eighner grants to dumpster diving, he allows the audience to
understand the issue first, through rather cold, intellectual eyes, before having to look at the messy
reality. Eighner does something very similar when he discusses the various names for dumpster
diving. This again enhances the understanding of what he prefers to cal scavenging by

Arguments can be made that the most recent disasters to befall this oil giant could have

these accidents could have been prevented, and more importantly better mitigated if BP had

Don Quixote Essay about created reality
Othello Essay
The novel Don Quixote, by Miguel Cervantes, is an exploration into the idea of created reality.
Cervantes, through the character of Don Quixote, illustrates to readers how we as human beings
often make reality to be whatever we want it to be.
Don Quixote is a perfect example of created reality. The character Don Quixote is real, and he lives
in a real world, but everything that he sees is exaggerated in his mind. It all begins with his name.
Don Quixote was not actually a Don. He was a wealthy, intelligent farmer who read too many
books about knighthood and went crazy. He convinced a simple minded peasant named Sancho to

I believe that Sancho despises the fact that his master might be mad, but accepts some of the lunacy
to make his job easier.
Despite his delusions, however, Don Quixote is fiercely intelligent and, at times, seemingly sane.
No single analysis of Don Quixote s character can adequately explain the split between his
madness and his sanity. It may be possible that Don Quixote really does know what is going on
around him and that he merely chooses to ignore the world and the consequences of his disastrous
actions. At several times in the novel, Cervantes validates this suspicion that Don Quixote may
know more than he admits. On the other hand, we can read Don Quixote s character as a warning
that even the most intelligent and otherwise practically minded person can fall victim to his own
foolishness.
Castiglione supports the idea in, The Book of the Courtier, that a person can be constructed and

However Machiavelli is more concerned with describing a real model for princes and what they

Research Questions My first question would have to be: Are there any truthful reporters in the
tabloid business? If I do find the answer to this question then I will be surprised. It seems that if
there are honest reporters, and they are not making up the stories, then it will be a harsh reality to
the readers, for most of them use the tabloids as a source of entertainment and they tend to not
take them seriously. My second question would be: Where do the reporters find their stories?
Most avid readers and haters of the tabloids industry tend to believe that the stories just pop into
the writers and reporters minds and they are printed...no matter how spontaneous and absurd the
story may be. They tend to believe that the more outrageous the story is the more publicity and
money the magazine will get. My third and most important question would be: Are all tabloids
false or do some have some truth? This is the biggest question of them all for this is the one I hope
to answer when I am done researching.

Women Athletic Trainers in the NFL
Women in the National Football League The NFL is a man s world where each and every man
is out on the field to show off his athleticism. Every aspect of the game, whether it is on the field
or on the side lines, is predominately male. However, there is an area of the NFL that women could
become a part of. Women could become athletic trainers for the NFL. An athletic trainer is a health
care specialist that focuses on prevention of injury and rehab to recuperate athletes (Summary).
Currently there are no women employed in the NFL although one womanused to work for the
Pittsburgh Steelers (Mihoces). There are many people that agree that women should be able to

It is unnerving to have a woman in the same room while players are showering and changing. It is
also awkward for the female athletic trainer to be present when men all around her are changing
and showering. A second argument for those who oppose is that women are seen as pushovers
in the training room. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot
stand up in an authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a
female athletic trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes
that the team needs a water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes
it can get pretty dicey between the athletic trainer and the coach. Also, if an athletic trainer will
not clear a player to be able to return to play, the coach and the athletic trainer can become very
argumentative and irrational. If the athletic trainer is female, the coach believes that she will hold
grudges like most other females they know. The final argument is that women can be a
distraction to the players. If there is a female on the field, the players could get distracted and not
be able to focus clearly on the task at hand. Almost following the same line, there is a big hazard
potential. Sexual harassment is a big issue in any work environment, but imagine how much more
of a hazard this would be. The hazard potential of sexual harassment

Migrant Diaspora and Economic Development
Migrant Diaspora help Economic Development In the recent years migrant diaspora and economic
development is in special focus; awareness have been established in order to let the people know
that there are several economic benefits of the migrant diaspora. They do not only helps economic
development but there is many other sectors too which are being benefitted. The return of the
expatriates to their home place is considered beneficial in many ways. They have sufficient
knowledge about the culture, traditions and other things of the place that is why they can do better
business than others. US data is much optimistic in this sense as 50% of the students came back to
their own country who goes abroad for the higher studies but in India or China it is only 20%. It is
the same condition with the Afghanistan, students who go to other countries for their studies do
not return to home country and in this way, the country s asset is going away from them. A bright
and studied man has much importance for its country especially when he knows some work to do
in the national interest. The graduated students can directly or indirectly contribute to the national
economy. They are the real asset of the country and they can change the future of the country
through their innovative ideas. In this way, the migrant diaspora helps the national economic
development. The country or any administration should take appropriate steps in order to regain
their expatriates. They know the environment

Speech Distracting Essay
In the informative speech, I didn t many things that were admired and distracting during the speech,
and I hope to improve on those distracting interrupting acts on my next speech. During the speech, I
did some items that were a little distracting through the speech. As I watched my speech I noticed I
had some awkward pauses, bad transitions, some um s, and a little stutteringthroughout the speech.
If you look at the speech I tendto stutter which is a little distracting. Talking about the festival
Diwali I talk about Rangoli and its colored pattern I stutter and forget what I am explaining.
Another thing I could improve on is my transitions when hearing the speech, the transitions are a
little rough and not as smooth. During the transition when I switch from talking about the
celebrations to the language I say, with all these celebrations it tends to bring many religions
and languages together doesn t really make sense and could be spoken a little smoother.
Stuttering is also a part of the speech I did during the speech which distracting. Throughout the
speech, I stutter during different parts and one of those parts being when I am talking about the
different traditions when eating Indian food. I say, some of the traditions when people eat in
India are well we all we eat on our hands, which is a little annoying. During the speech, I also said
um s during the speech. When citing my source on languages I said some ums, repeating the
citation from the notecard. During the speech I had a little tough time with stuttering at moments,
saying some um s, bad transitions, and some pauses in the future I tend to improve it for the next
speech. During the speech, I was also a good speaker in many ways. I had a good voice projection,
my hand moment was consistent, I was always facing the audienceand held eye contact, and had
facial expressions to emphasize the importance of a topic. Right off the bat when I was explaining
my citation saying According to the U.S Census Bureau there are alone 5.7% Asian s in the United
States, I was pointing my hands to make sure everyone was paying attention to the numbers.
Another thing I did well during the speech was, that I kept eye contact with everyone during the

What Is The Brand Image In Hotel
Critically evaluate the role of the brand in International hospitality management
In the international hospitality, the brand is one of the important things in the marketing. The

Training Is An Accurate Program For All Different People
FITT, SAID, and SPORT are all training regimens to provide an accurate program for all different
people, whether they are fit or unfit. All these programs show different qualities on what should be
expected, but the specific principles of exercise are progression, regularity, overload, variety,
recovery, balance, and specificity. (PowerPoint) According to the Physical Activity Guidelines you
are to do 150 minutes of moderate exerciseand 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week and 2 or
more days of strength training that works the 7 major musclegroups. Most people have different
reasons they work out, in the video some expressed doing it for their weight and health while
others said it brings them joy and peace of mind (Physical Activity Guidelines). This is important to
these training programs because not everyone is the same; therefore you need to base a program on
the individual.
The FITT principal describes how to safely apply principles of overload and progression and
stands for frequency, intensity, time, and the type of exercise (FITT Principle). These principles
are important, you need to have progression when you are in a program to be able to see benefits.
An example would be lifting 5 lbs. for a long time; you eventually need to either increase the
frequency, time, or intensity to start to progress. With progression also comes overload. Progression
of overload needs to be consistent and tailored to each client with the starting point of the training

Bend It Like Beckham Belonging Analysis
Belonging is often referred to as acceptance and interconnection within social, cultural, historical
and personal contexts of the wider community. This makes an individual feel comfortable and
content to live among similar people. This is explored in the film Bend it like Beckham by Gurinda
Chaddah, where Jess the protagonist is torn with two different cultures, traditional Indian sikh
culture and modern western culture that alters her sense of belonging over time. Similarly, in the
novel, Who am I by Anita Heiss, Mary is stuck between two different cultures, an aboriginal culture
and modern white culture which creates a conflict in her mind about her real identity and a sense of
belonging.
Firstly, Physical closeness helps individuals to depict their love and increasing comfort zone
towards each other, thus strengthening their sense of belonging. This is represented through the use
of different types of music such as in the goodbye scene where Jess is hugging Joe, that time

Real Estate Property Pros And Cons
Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become
homeowners without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a
real estate and make it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do
whatever they desire to the property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local
ordinance and in some cases, a regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to
homeowner being able to do what they would like to the home, there are also ownershiprights. The
homeowner has the right of possession, control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B.,
Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).
Right of Possession
Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with
ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred,
G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to
occupy the property and use it as they so desire. According to Carey, Larsen and Eldred, this
includes the right to keep all others from coming on your property without your permission
(trespassing) (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).... Show more content on

Matterhorn Descriptive Writing
I let the curled shavings fall to the frozen, inky ground, creating a heap of milky white scraps. My
blade easily carves through the wood, like a knife going through soft butter. A wolf starts howling
in the woods, and distorts my concentration, the blade jams into my finger.
Verdammt! I swear under my breath. A carmine liquid seeps out of my wound. I suck on my
finger in order to stop the profusive bleeding. I sigh and gaze across the horizon. A cascade of
fiery red and flamboyant orange spills out from the sides of the Matterhorn as the sun sinks
leisurely below the ice kissed landscape. I raise to my feet and stretch out my cramped legs. I am
standing on a small ledge which juts out from the side of the mountain. It has recently snowed so
the snow is powdery and deep. To my right, about ten feet below is a forest and to my left there is
a massive skiing area. The view is immense, with a perfect view of the Matterhorn s snow capped
north side. At the bottom of the mountain lays Zermatt. The mountain is barren, with no skiers left,
most locals don t ski for pleasure during the week, and tourists try to get home before dark. It s
just me on this oasis of the Alps. An arctic wind sweeps throughout the land, and snow is
billowed up into the air like a freezing tornado. The sun is now hidden and the shimmering stars
have come out. I stoop down to retrieve my scraps and carving which I then cram into my thin
wool coat. I latch on my ski s, wrap my fingers around my poles

The Natural Disasters Of The United States
While I have listed many natural disasters that one would need to prepare for, what about the
government failing. Many citizens feel that the government is encroaching on our fundamental
rights as Americans. Take for example Jade Helm 15, a military training exercise. While the
government is telling us it s just an exercise so that the everyday citizen can get used to the
presence of militaryin their neighborhoods and in their towns, is that really what s going on? Or
is this just another ploy to have the government take over the American citizens and it turn into
another Hitler debacle? Some groups suggest that this is a ruse to implement Martial Law on the
citizens. On the other hand though there has been a lot of small terrorist attacks on military
bases lately so having the presence of military in the communities might just be a preemptive
measure of what s to come. The cause of the underlying concerns is that we see instances, like a
shooting in Fort Hood by a terrorist, that the President labels workplace violence. We see the
President come to the border in Texas and say it s safer than it s ever been, Abbott told Austin
based NBC affiliate KXAN TV. And so I think it was a misplaced perception by people in Texas
who have problems with the Obama administration and connected that trust with the Obama
administration to the military (Viser). This should be a concern of American. We should be
preparing for government fall out, or even something that is happening

Health Belief Model
This study s aim was to use a culturally based intervention utilizing the Health Belief Model to
increase the number of low income African American women receiving screening mammograms.
According to current data, African American women have very low screening rates for breast
cancer and the worst breast cancermeasures of all women (higher mortality rates, late stage
diagnosis, and 5 year survival rates). Women below the poverty level have the lowest rates of
breast cancerscreening, independent of ethnicity. In the past, the most effective cancer screening

They was an adequate follow up for the participants reasons for not completing the screening, as
well as a discussion on what can be done in the future to address these. The discussion for why

screening was not thorough, but this may be the result of a lack of knowledge on this topic. This
seems to have been a surprising finding, one no one could have predicted. There is an honest
discussion about the application of the health beliefs model to this study. This study found that the
health beliefs model was not an adequate predictor of breast cancer screening perceived benefits,
barriers, and susceptibility were not statistically significant predictors of breast cancer screening.
These results were supported by previous studies and were not a total surprise, making me
question why they would have even chosen to use the health beliefs model to being with. The
author attempt to explain these results, and does so with many solid possibilities especially the
idea that varying degrees of poverty will result in different findings. This study looked at women
below $6,000 annual income, indicating extreme poverty. The factors affecting women in this
income range is probably much different than women in the higher range of poverty level income.
The conclusions are logical for the results of the study their

  • 2. Comparison Of The Youngstown City School District The two district I chose to compare to the Youngstown City School District are Canton School and Mansfield School Districts. As I was going through the report cards I was not surprised at the similarities between Canton Schools and Youngstown, due to the fact that they are both city school districts. However, I was surprised with the scores from the Mansfield s report card, and I am not sure why? Below is a breakdown/comparison of the three school districts: As I compiled this report looking at the overall report card these three districts are very similar. They all received an overall F on their State Report Card but there were a few differences that stood out to me. First is the K 3 Literacy, Youngstown received a... In YCSD it seems that Students with Disabilities are the students who move the most, while CCSD has both Limited English and the Hispanic students are the most mobile and MCSD the Limited English population that is most mobile. When looking at District Report Cards all we usually hear about is student data, not realizing that there is also teacher data reported in this document. Looking over the data as a whole the schools are pretty similar in teacher data. Attendance was at between 93% and 94%, while teacher students ratio per 1000 students was lower than the state average in all schools. Teacher s average pay was within $5000.00, MCSD was the lowest at $52,000.00 and CCSD being the highest at $57,000.00. Looking at teacher and principal evaluations YCSD and MCSD had no teachers with an Effective evaluation, the highest percentage of teachers fell under Accomplished in evaluations. As for principals YCSD and MCSD principals were either Accomplished or Skilled, the majority were Skilled, in all Districts. As for CCSD, they had no one Accomplished, but they did have Developing and Effective. Finance was the final section of the report I looked at and YCSD spends the most per pupil, over $11,000 while the other two districts between $8800 and $9400 and about 65% of that are spent on classrooms. Looking through these report cards from an administrative lens , I was looking at more than just the final grade, I looked deeper into the subgroups ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Threat Of The Industrial Control System NIST SP800 82 section 3.2 contains a table showing Adversarial Threats to ICS. For your discussion this week, you need to pick two of these and explain it in your own words. You also need to include an explanation of the potential risks to ICS s due to the threats. This means the impacts, consequences, and likelihood associated with each threat type. If possible, include an example of the threats. There are many threats which have the potential to impact industrial control systems. These threats can vary in type and in the potential risks and impacts to the industrial control system. Understanding the threats to industrial control systems along with the threats risks, impact, consequences, and likelihood is essential for proper riskassessment. Preforming risk assessment on industrial control system is essential for ensuring their security and reducing the risk of attackto a level which is within the organization risk tolerance for their industrial control systems. One of common threat agent to industrial control system now days is foreign intelligence agency. These are government agencies and government sponsored groups which are well trained and equipped with the tools to gather information and perform attacks against industrial control systems. • 4. Inhumanity In Lord Of The Flies In the Roman Empire, England, France, and the Middle East, ever since people have been around, there has always been conflict and fighting. A common theme in war is inhumanity. For example, in World War I mustard gas would produce terrible blisters on soldiers who were exposed to it. Empathy for those suffering young men was not presentin those causing the pain. While war is still ongoing in the world, Europe is much more peaceful today then it was a hundred years ago and people in general are being taught to resolve conflict in a humane way. Since William Golding wrote Lord of the Flies there have been many improvements in society over the last 70 years. While William he was alive, teenagers were often mean and inhumane like those portrayed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Golding would be fascinated and satisfied to know that society today accepts people s differences and tries to help them out, something that didn t happen in the 1950s. Nowadays, people are willing to help others when something tragic arises. In Lord of the Flies a plane crashes and the boys aboard are forced to survive on the deserted island. Ralph, the original leader, needs to build shelter but he ends up, working with Simon and No one else while the rest of the boys are bathing, or eating, or playing (Golding, 50). These lines suggest that during the 1950s, and in the Lord of the Flies , people were not likely to help each other. Since Golding is a religious man, he would not appreciate that people do not help each other (Kruger, 90). In recent history, Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, causing immense flooding and damage. Texas is different from the rest of the United States culturally, yet people from around the country were able to put aside these differences and help those in need. For example, Anheuser Busch stopped its beer production in order to make cans of water for those in need. Though this cost the company profit, they were willing to sacrifice their prosperity simply to help others. Golding would be surprised ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Report The name of the disease that I have selected to write this disease paper about is acute respiratory distress syndrome. Acute respiratory distress syndrome according to our text book Respiratory Care Principles and Practice by Dean Hess states that acute respiratory distress syndrome is characterized by the abrupt onset of respiratory distress; associated with severe hypoxemia and diffuse pulmonary opacities on chest radio graph that are not caused by congestive heart failure or volume over load; Pao2 200 MMHG. (Hess, 1287). Acute respiratory distress syndrome is respiratory insufficiency marked by progressive hypoxemia due to severe inflammatory damage causing abnormal permeability of the alveolocapillary membrane. The alveoli fill with fluid, which interferes with gas exchange. ETIOLOGY according to Taber s medical dictionary, acute respiratory distress syndrome can typically be a result of or from trauma to the lungs for example in situations like near drowning, aspiration of gastric acids, and severe lung infection or systemic disorder. Shock, septicemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, cardiopulmonary bypass or reaction to blood transfusions. Widespread damage to the alveolocapillary membranes is initiated through the aggregation and activity of neutrophils and macrophages and the activation of complement. Stereotypes In India And Australia s Use Of Technology Society and Culture Secondary Research Introduction India and Australia s Use of Technology Today, India and Australia s use of technology is particularly similar. Both countries have access to high speed internet connection, wireless broadband, the latest mobile phones, computers, tablets and televisions. However, access to these technologies is scarce and often unaffordable in rural areas in India, as well as rural areas in Australia. This episode perpetuates the image that there may be something wrong with Indian Sikhs, and therefore, this message is communicated into society and can form the basis of stereotypes against Indians and Sihks. Another example of a stereotypical Indian portrayed on television is the character of Apu, from The Simpsons, who is portrayed as a store owner with a thick Indian accent. (Somani, 2008). Although having the best set up to be the main villain of the three, Harry s part in the film is pushed around. For example he gets amnesia in order for other characters to be focused on. The amnesia completely changes Harry to become a happy person. This undermines the director s purpose of having Harry as a villain. Villains are not meant to be joyous and dancing. Raimi s intentions of showing Harry as fearsome and intimidating were contradicted. After Sandman is out of the picture, Harry s memory is back and now he s evil again. Which leads us back to the point that this film is all over the place with flaws. What did his character gain from amnesia? Nothing. Then after this Harry becomes a good guy again. • 11. I Was Driving Home From School Essay I was driving home from school when all the sudden I see a light flashing on the dash of my car. It was the oil light telling me that it was time to have an oil change, so instead of driving home I went straight to the toyota dealership because at the time I drove a Toyota Landcruiser. When I got there they handed me a clipboard full of information i needed to fill out. It took me a full ten minutes to complete and even after all that they still handed me more papers to write my signature on, I thought to myself, all that for a simple oil change . After finally completing all the paperwork a man took me to the dealerships waiting room and told me that my oil change should not take long. I was happy to hear that because I wanted to be on my way. I only expected to be there for 25 to 30 minutes, so after 20 minutes I started looking at the door hoping someone would walk in and tell me they finished the oil change. Ten minutes later and still nothing. I was getting very impatient and I was starting to work an appetite. The worst part is they had the food channel on and no remote for me to change the channel with, so i got up and went to go find a vending machine. Near the car displays they had a popcorn machine so i scooped myself a small bag full. The popcorn was super salty and stale and what made it even worse was there was no water to be found. • 12. Cross Country Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poem Analysis Cross Country: A Book Of Australian Verse second edition was published in 1988. Edited by John Barnes and Brian McFarlane. It contains a comprehensible and thought provoking selection of Australian poetry from the early years of European settlement to the present. A common thread that connects numerous poems in the Cross Country anthology is the contrast between what the past was and what it is now. This is shown through the loss of aboriginal culture and past times. Each poem expresses a different scenario or memory about the loss of indigenous culture and how the past was a noble past, as compared to the present. Oodgeroo Noonuccal s We are Going, portrays the deep feelings of loss shown through the poem towards the aboriginal culture. The poem is written from a straightforward point of view that is easy to decipher. As the poem progresses it goes through what the aboriginal community has lost because of the settlers and how they are strangers to their land, we are as strangers here now, but the white tribe are the strangers . • 16. Fingerprint Analysis In Criminal Investigation Every day, individuals touch countless objects and each time an object is touched an individual s fingerprints are left behind. For more than one hundred years, fingerprint analysis has been used by law enforcement to identify suspects in order to solve crimes. One of the most important uses of fingerprint analysis is to assist investigators when they need to link two crimescenes to the same individual. Fingerprintanalysis also assist investigators with obtaining an individual s criminal record and any previous arrest they have had. A fingerprint is an impression left by the friction ridges of an individual s finger. Fingerprints can be easily deposited on surfaces such as glass, polished stone, and metal. Additionally when Finch and Baska are breaking into the Land family s house Ruben explains: Then the door handle turned the back door, off the kitchen. I knew that little squeal. • 18. Study Of Data Mining Algorithm For Cloud Computing ABSTRACT This technical paper consists of the study of data mining algorithm in cloud computing. Cloud Computing is an environment created in user s machine from online application stored in clouds and run through web browser. Therefore, it is essential to manage user s data efficiently. Data mining also known as knowledge discovery is the process of analyzing data from different perspectives and summarizing it into useful information where the information can be used to increase revenue, cut costs of implementation and maintenances, or all. Data mining software and/or algorithms is one of a number of analytical tools for analyzing data. It allows users to analyze data from many different dimensions or angles, categorize it, and summarize the relationships identified. Technically, data mining is the process of finding correlations or patterns among dozens of fields in large relational databases. The process of mining data can be done in many ways; this paper discusses the theoretical study of two algorithms K means and Apriori, their explanation using flow chart and pseudo code, and comparison for time and space complexity of the two for the dataset of an Online Retail Shop . Looking at the Angel Capital Group will expose the evaluations they use, and give ideas weather or not an angel investoris right for the business one seeks to have funded (Angel Capital Group, 2015). Understanding their proximity, value, experience and other factors will help define what the angel investor is all about (Bell, 2007). Putting other factual information together along with what the angel is and what they are looking for will give a picture of what the possibilities are for this type of endeavor. Where is the angel investor and where is the business? The angel wants to feel close to the business, at least, if not be right next door so they can check in easily (Bell, 2007). Just like mom can be a pain because she knows so much about her baby, the angel wants to make sure you are healthy and on a righteous path. It evaluate top k query in wireless sensor networks to maximize the network lifetime. Also, an online algorithm was proposed for answering time dependent top k queries with different values of k. Different approaches were proposed in (B. Chen et al., 2014; H. Chen, 2014; Li et al., 2014; Sandhya Devi, 2013) for answering top k queries. The safe interval which used for getting the top k data points computed only in (Sandhya Devi, 2013). This safe interval speeds up the query response time because it used for getting the top k data points without the examination of all points for inclusion in TOPK. Also, there is no need to build the Voronoi Diagram (VD) as in (Li et al., 2014) or to build SWTP tree as (H. Chen, 2014). In addition, updating the safe intervals is easier than updating nodes in (H. Chen, 2014; Li et al., 2014). In (Li et al., 2014) it is important to build the Voronoi Diagram (VD) to answer the bi chromatic reverse k nearest neighbor (BRkNN) query without the need to compute the BRkNN answer set for each data point. Li et al. (2014) address the k nearest neighbors answers which not addressed in the rest. Thus algorithms which proposed in (Li et al., 2014) outperform the rest in location based applications. • 22. Freud Ego And Super Ego Freud was an Austrian neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis; he was born on 6th May 1856 and died 23rd September 1939 in London. Freud developed psychoanalysis which looked into dreams, fantasies and someone s free association. The psychodynamic approach looks into the unconscious (unware) and how this effects behavior and the conscious (aware) and the relation between them in our mind (psyche). Freud s theories about child sexuality, ego s and what makes us tick were most influential in the 20th century. Psychodynamic approach bases its theory on three unconscious structures known as Id, ego and super ego. Id is the impulsive part of the structure, following basic animal instincts of indulgence. If the psyche has a strong id, the person would have no regard for other people, would be confrontational, would be driven by sexual impulses and would not fit in well with society. The super ego is the opposite of id, it is the conscience stating the right and wrong and repressive of any confrontation. If someone has a strong super ego it is likely that they would be very withdrawn and anxious with no confidence. Ego is the part of the psyche that adapts to the environment; it judges what is acceptable in certain social situations and control the id and the super ego for a healthy balance. Freud states that these structures of the psyche are developed in early childhood years and the ego continues to develop as we grow older. Due to the early development stages Freud assumes ... • 24. Food Waste Of Food In 2012, enough food was discarded at the retail and consumer levels alone to provide 2,000 kcal per day to 84% of the US adult population (Spiker et al). In comparison to this fact, it is also estimated that 14.6 percent of US households are labeled food insecure (Bartfield et al). It is deeply concerning that a large portion of the US population faces hunger on a daily basis while so much foodis being wasted just at the consumer and retail levels. Furthermore, this wasted food does not account for the food that never even sees the market due to over production food deemed unfit for the market, spillage, etc. This means there is even more food wasted that could provide for the hungry. Food waste, meaning any food product produced and not consumed, occurs at three main levels: production, retail, and consumer. Losses in production occur when food is discarded before arriving at its destination after leaving the farm. Losses in retail occur when food is discarded before being sold to restaurants or individuals. Finally, consumer losses occur when any food is discarded after the retail level. Various reasons for discarding food on any level include but are not limited to spoilage, aesthetics (e.g. bruising, coloring, size, shape), overproduction or over purchasing, and damaged packaging. It should also be noted that a difficulty arises when analyzing food loss because of inedible parts of food. For example, meat sold bone in consists of a total weight when sold to ... Compare And Contrast Hardin And Ostrom The Tragedy of the Commons by Garrett Hardin and A General Framework for Analyzing Sustainability of Social Ecological Systems by Elinor Ostrom both offer perspectives on the way humans interact with common pool resources, as well as the property regimes that govern them. A Common Pool Resource (CPR) is defined by Dietz as a valued natural resource that is available to more than one person and subject to degradation as a result of overuse. (Hagerman, 2014 a). Hardin offers a perspective on CPRs through analogies to commons , areas of open access where there is an absence of well defined property rights [and] access is unregulated and open to anyone. (Hagerman, 2014a) He explains a scenario where multiple herders own cattle, which all graze on one common plot of land. The herders weigh the benefits and costs of adding one more cow, and going beyond the carrying capacity of the commons. If one herder adds a cow, the cost is subtracted evenly from the well being of the all herders. The benefits, however, are realised uniquely by the herder who added the cow. ... • 26. Effect Of The On A Sport Event Firstly, he depicts the multiplier used by each of the impact studies. A multiplier is a coefficient, which displays the multiplier effect on the economy when visitors spend money on a sport event. The money spent in the host community will launch a ripple effect, thus converting the direct impact of the spending into indirect and induced impacts on the economy. A higher multiplier suggests, that more of the initial injection of money into the economy stays within without leaking out of the local economy. Consequently a higher multiplier leads to a higher economic impact (Crompton 1995). An example of how the multiplier works is shown in Figure 2. The figure assumes that visitors spend $10.000 due to the sport franchise, at four different establishments. The hotel serves as an example for how these establishments further distribute the initial injection of money. The money that stays within the local economy is spent in the same five ways over and over as successive rounds of spending occur (Crompton 1995). 10 Figure 2: How the multiplier concept operates (Source: (Crompton 1995)) Authors of a community guide to tourism development cited by Crompton (1995) suggest that 90% to 95% of U.S. county income multipliers lie between 1.4 and 1.8. Introduction and context According to NSPCC there are more than 50,000 children in the UK are abused and neglected annually, this estimates that there are 8 children suffering abuse for every one child that is identified. This is a strong link between socio economic circumstances of families and the chances of the child experiencing abuse and neglect. In America, While Homelessness And On On Dumpster Diving In America, while homelessness and poverty runs rampant, while war veterans and Phds find themselves on the streets, while the price of living and the ability to find food for America s poorest grows ever more difficult, we, as a culture, still look upon practices like dumpster diving as disgusting and believe them to be only practiced by the lowest and most uneducated of American society. This is no longer a practical image of the practice or the people behind it. As poverty is ever prevalent in the United States, many are forced to find food outside of conventional needs, especially in a culture that exceedingly devalues assistance to the poor. Simultaneously, with rampant consumerism and our propensity to throw... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through an understanding of the needs of the audience, practical information and anecdotes, and philosophical discussion, Eighner brings enlightenment from the bottom up. One of Eighner s biggest advantages in this essay is an acute understanding of the preconceptions and bad reputation around dumpster diving and the people who do it and the needs of the audience in order to take him, and his story, seriously. Because, as a culture, we perceive the homeless, and by extension, those who dumpster dive, as filthy, uneducated, and simple, it is vital for Eighner to present himself as well educated, even intellectual. He does this right from the beginning by revealing some of his own backstory. He tells of his early interest in dumpsters and how he approached the subject by writing to Merriam Webster to better understand the origins of the word dumpster . This shows Eighner s intellectual approach to the subject, building his credibility as an intelligent person. It also shows the seriousness that Eighner grants to dumpster diving, he allows the audience to understand the issue first, through rather cold, intellectual eyes, before having to look at the messy reality. Eighner does something very similar when he discusses the various names for dumpster diving. This again enhances the understanding of what he prefers to cal scavenging by ... Drilling for oil is risky business and what makes it worthwhile is the payoff. To put it simply fossil fuels, oil and its distillates remain to be the lifeblood flowing through the veins of a highly industrialized and demanding modern industry. Transportation, Power Generation, Manufacturing, Motorsport, our very lives depend on oil. Arguments can be made that the most recent disasters to befall this oil giant could have happened to any other oil company however among the far reaching consequences of these disasters is the scrutiny that BP now finds itself under. This intense focus continues to reveal that these accidents could have been prevented, and more importantly better mitigated if BP had simply followed respected best practices for managing a crisis and for managing period. BP s apparent culture of deceit and arrogance perpetuated by executive actions resulted in negligence across the board, added to that BP s missteps in handling especially their most recent and most deadly incident and we have mounting evidence that points to more than just bad luck being involved. • 39. Don Quixote Essay about created reality Othello Essay The novel Don Quixote, by Miguel Cervantes, is an exploration into the idea of created reality. Cervantes, through the character of Don Quixote, illustrates to readers how we as human beings often make reality to be whatever we want it to be. Don Quixote is a perfect example of created reality. The character Don Quixote is real, and he lives in a real world, but everything that he sees is exaggerated in his mind. It all begins with his name. Don Quixote was not actually a Don. He was a wealthy, intelligent farmer who read too many books about knighthood and went crazy. He convinced a simple minded peasant named Sancho to become his squire, promising him wealth and a high spot in society. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that Sancho despises the fact that his master might be mad, but accepts some of the lunacy to make his job easier. Despite his delusions, however, Don Quixote is fiercely intelligent and, at times, seemingly sane. No single analysis of Don Quixote s character can adequately explain the split between his madness and his sanity. It may be possible that Don Quixote really does know what is going on around him and that he merely chooses to ignore the world and the consequences of his disastrous actions. At several times in the novel, Cervantes validates this suspicion that Don Quixote may know more than he admits. On the other hand, we can read Don Quixote s character as a warning that even the most intelligent and otherwise practically minded person can fall victim to his own foolishness. Castiglione supports the idea in, The Book of the Courtier, that a person can be constructed and that people should adhere to an ideal and try to emulate it, even if it is impossible to become. However Machiavelli is more concerned with describing a real model for princes and what they have to do to survive as actual rulers rather than a happy ideal they can try to be, but never will obtain. If I do find the answer to this question then I will be surprised. It seems that if there are honest reporters, and they are not making up the stories, then it will be a harsh reality to the readers, for most of them use the tabloids as a source of entertainment and they tend to not take them seriously. My second question would be: Where do the reporters find their stories? Most avid readers and haters of the tabloids industry tend to believe that the stories just pop into the writers and reporters minds and they are printed...no matter how spontaneous and absurd the story may be. They tend to believe that the more outrageous the story is the more publicity and money the magazine will get. Stereotypically, women are seen as dainty, elegant people that cannot stand up in an authority position over the gigantic football brutes. Likewise, it is awkward for a female athletic trainer to demonstrate her power over the coach. If the athletic trainer believes that the team needs a water break, it is his or her obligation to inform the coach, and sometimes it can get pretty dicey between the athletic trainer and the coach. On the other hand though there has been a lot of small terrorist attacks on military bases lately so having the presence of military in the communities might just be a preemptive measure of what s to come. The cause of the underlying concerns is that we see instances, like a shooting in Fort Hood by a terrorist, that the President labels workplace violence. Health Belief Model This study s aim was to use a culturally based intervention utilizing the Health Belief Model to increase the number of low income African American women receiving screening mammograms. According to current data, African American women have very low screening rates for breast cancer and the worst breast cancermeasures of all women (higher mortality rates, late stage diagnosis, and 5 year survival rates). This seems to have been a surprising finding, one no one could have predicted. There is an honest discussion about the application of the health beliefs model to this study. This study found that the health beliefs model was not an adequate predictor of breast cancer screening perceived benefits, barriers, and susceptibility were not statistically significant predictors of breast cancer screening. These results were supported by previous studies and were not a total surprise, making me question why they would have even chosen to use the health beliefs model to being with. The author attempt to explain these results, and does so with many solid possibilities especially the idea that varying degrees of poverty will result in different findings. This study looked at women below $6,000 annual income, indicating extreme poverty. The factors affecting women in this income range is probably much different than women in the higher range of poverty level income. The conclusions are logical for the results of the study their ...
