Analysis Report On Management Accounting System
A management accounting system collects accounting information and converts the information to an
analysis report in order to help managers make correct decisions and let stakeholders fully understand
how the company runs. In another word, the main purpose of the management accounting system is
assessing the company s performance with the help of different measurements. Thus, management
accounting system reform should be closely linked to performance measurement. The most traditional
way to measure company s performance is comparing the historical financial figures. However, such
measure has been challenged by both academics and practitioners as the dysfunction consequences in
assessing rewards for managers and issues in capturing customer quality have been recognized. Under
this competitive environment, one traditional performance measurement may not be good enough to
fit all the businesses. In order to help businesses measure their performance accurately, the
innovations and changes may take place when designing and adopting the management accounting
system. Focusing on innovations and changes part firstly, two major schools were introduced to
companies. They are the stakeholder approach and shareholder approach, respectively. According to
the stakeholder approach, the competition on many dimensions will let the companies realize that they

Norse And Greek Mythology Similarities
All mythologies explain something. There s always a reason to explain everything, like why the sun
rises every day or sets at night. Why is the sky blue? Why is there thunder or lightning? People way
back when had to have a reason for all of this, so they came up with myths. Myths explain why things
are the way they are. There are plenty of differences and similarities between different mythologies,
but what are the differences and similarities of the Norse and Greek.
First, let s start off with the similarities of their gods or deities. The Greek god Zeus is the leader of the
gods and go of the sky and lightning. He is analogous to the Norse gods Odin and Thor. Odin is the
leader of the Norse gods and Thor is the god of lightning and thunder. Another similarity between
these two mythologies is Aphrodite and Freya. Aphrodite, a greek goddess, is the goddess of love and
beauty while the Norse goddess Freya is also the goddess of the same things. There are some
differences between these two mythologies, including the Greek god Janus. Janus is the god of
beginnings, while in Norse mythology they don t have a god for beginnings. ... Show more content on

The Greek believed that when someone died and arrived in the underworld, that the dead person
would be judged. If someone had committed a crime against the gods they would be sent to the Fields
of Punishment, if they lived an ordinary life and had a quotidian death they would be sent to Asphodel
Meadows, if they were seen as a hero then you would be sent to Elysium. There were also three
realms of the dead in Norse mythology. When they died in battle or as a hero they were either sent to
Valhalla or Folkvangr. If someone died any other way they were sent to

The number of trips taken by Britons overseas has declined by 12.6 million, from 69.4 million to 56.8
million between 2007 and 2011, according to the research by Travelodge. This means that 5.9 million
holidays and trips have come out of the market altogether when the number of domestic holidays and
trips are factored in. This is shy of the government s stated ambition for domestic trips to replace the
number of missing overseas trips, the report says. However, the analysis shows that staycation breaks
were up by 5.6% as the recession proved that holidays are an essential rather than a luxury. UK city
breaks account for 23% of domestic tourism but seaside towns are in decline by 5%. Total tourism
revenue was up 12.6% to £40 billion between 2007 2011 against the general economy up 8%.
Employment numbers in tourism have bucked the wider trend, thanks to strong growth in 2011 when
120,000 new jobs were created. The UK s appeal as a tourist destination endured during the double
dip, with overall visitor numbers up by 3.1% to 157.4 million, the report shows. Staycations form the
backbone of the tourism economy, with domestic trips and holidays increasing by 5.6% to 126.6
million.

America s Lack Of Economic Equality
America suffers from a lack of economic equality; the population is divided into social classes. Per
Mantsios, the upper fifteen percent control eighty five percent of the nations wealth. This attributes the
other eighty five percent of the population the remaining fifteen percent of the nations wealth. The
people born into a high economic standing can afford better education which prepares them for better
jobs. And those who are born into a lower economic standing are more expected to enter low income
schools and conditioned for labor jobs. Higher income families, those of the fifteen percent, are more
likely to have children that will obtain a better education. This leaves the other eighty five percent of
the population that make up the lower and middle class to seemingly reduced education and public
schooling which is only available for free up until the twelfth grade. The population consisting of the
lower class, who can t afford higher education, are less likely to continue to go to college; this only
narrows their options for jobs. Those in the upper class will have a better education and obtain higher
positions in companies than those in the lower class.
Educational development is a very important step in life; it seems that people are judged everyday
especially on their education. Parents seem to go through extensive procedures to get their children
through the best education possible, just to help them succeed in life. It s no surprise that schools in

The Book Gender Trouble By Judith Butler
The book Gender Trouble by Judith Butler required another method of taking a gander at sex and
sexual orientation. Instead of the settled manly and ladylike sexual orientation binary, Butler
contended that gender ought to be seen as variable, the way we act at various times and in various
circumstances as opposed to who we are. Butler proposed that by deconstructing the way we consider
gender we may move towards another fairness where individuals are not limited by manly or ladylike
sex parts. Like women s activists before her, Butler is worried with achieving more prominent
uniformity between men and women, yet her accentuation is distinctive, just like her proposed method
of activity. A number of Butler s contentions and thoughts are fascinating and convincing, however
she additionally has pundits who see a few constraints with her work.
Butler starts by taking a gander at the issues of characterizing woman. In the past woman s rights has
considered ladies to be its subjects for political representation. Butler, nonetheless, contends that we
can t consider women to be a bound together homogenous gathering subsequent to each woman is a
one of a kind person. Women are not a unified gathering subsequent to there are a considerable
number of divisive contrasts between them. This is a substantial point to make as it would appear to be
improbable that a neediness stricken assembly line laborer woman from the Third World would feel
she had much in the same manner as a

Gran Torino, directed by Clint Eastwood, is a very moving and captivating drama. When the story
opens we see Walt Kowalski residing on his front porch drinking beer, while simultaneously watching
the world with a squint and a torrent of harsh criticism. Walt has essentially no remaining family
members, as his wife had just recently passed away, and he wants nothing to do with his two
successful sons. It s a story about tolerance and cultural differences, but also one of hope, and unlikely
friendships. The film focuses on an highly racist and violent Asian neighborhood. Ever since the
recent surge of immigrants the neighborhood has gone down hill a great deal. Walt s neighbors are the

Dog Separation Anxiety
Introduction The dog is man s best friend , but what if you can t leave your dog at home alone, not
even for 10 minutes. A lot of people have to cope with this problem because their dog is suffering
from separation anxiety. In 1,644 dogs that were diagnosed with behavioral problems over 14,3% had
separation anxiety1.
In animal behavioral practices in North America 20 40% of the dogs are diagnosed with separation
anxiety2. And in the United Kingdom, at least 20% of dogs are believed to have separation anxiety ,
although up to 50% of dogs in the population may display clinical signs at some time.3,4 This is one
of the most seen reasons for owners to surrender their dogs to a shelter.
Plausible cause for so many dogs to have separation anxiety are multiple and could be a combination
of factors. These causes include pathologic over attachment to the owner, negative early experiences
such as too early separation from their dam, a traumatic experience while being alone, and a change in
family circumstances. Dogs may also have a genetic predisposition to develop the condition, because
they have been bred to be socially dependent, devoted, and infantile. 5 These causes don t only lead to
separation anxiety, there are a lot of different behavioral problems that dogs can have and sometimes
allthough a dog goes true a traumatic experience it doesn t lead to a behavioral problems at all. But ...

China s Trade Regulation Policies
Trade regulation policies are paramount for any country to progress in today s global world. The fast
paced economic activities of the 21st century has forced numerous countries to re evaluate their trade
regulation policies, primarily based on their specialization and global niche markets. This article will
focus on two separate case studies of China and Ethiopia. Throughout this article we will discuss the
past history and prevailing trade regulation policies of these countries and how these polices have
affected the macro and micro economic operations within these countries. Trade regulation policies
can vary based on the imports and exports of the country. China is one of the biggest emerging
economies, with immense potential to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means a growth in imports from nations China is already in good relation with, while on the other
hand it has raised its tariff for agricultural products and decreased its tariff for non agricultural goods.
Through this policy, China is trying to strengthen its domestic market for agricultural goods while it is
ready to rely on the international products of non agricultural nature. Some of the non agricultural
goods with decreased import tariffs include garments, footwear, and skin care products. Import tariffs
on suits and fur skin products are lowered from 14 percent to 7 percent. While China has decided to
become liberal with its regulation policies, it is careful to avoid dumping and hence may impose anti
dumping policies on goods it fears would threaten Chinese national industries. This policy is
important in terms of preserving national industries and their stability. Such a policy helps restore
balance and confidence within the economy. This sense of security will improve local performances.
China is also very careful on the import of demerit goods, such as alcohol and tobacco. Consumption
tax is applied to similar products because of their prevailing harmful effects and increased demand in
the market. Consumption tax helps increase the price and reduce market demand. China has also
removed most of the quota and licensing requirements from most of the imports. While this will
increase the influx of imported goods, this might actually harm the domestic

Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis ( Uvfp )
Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis
Heather Newberg
Jacksonville University
INTRODUCTION
Unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) is the complete immobility of one vocal fold. According to
Sapienza and Ruddy (2013), 90% of vocal fold paralysis that occurs is unilateral and caused by
damage to the peripheral nervous system (p. 189). Vocal fold paralysis is typically considered a
symptom of a disease or neurologic disruption. In one study, it was found that vocal fold paralysis was
caused by surgical trauma, tumors or neoplasms, unknown or idiopathic factors, trauma, central
nervous system dysfunction, radiation, inflammatory, cardiovascular, and other causes (Chen, Jen,
Wang, Lee, Lin, 2007). Symptoms of unilateral vocal fold paralysis may include: aphonia, abnormal
vocal quality (breathy, hoarse, and/or strained), and dysphagia. Onset of UVFP may be life altering as
the individual has to find compensatory strategies for voicing or even alternative methods of
communication. The individual is also left susceptible to aspiration due to the lack of airway
protection. These factors make it critical to diagnose the impairment so as to provide the appropriate
treatment.
DIAGNOSIS
Vocal fold paralysis is diagnosed by an otolaryngologist through the use of endoscopy,
laryngostroboscopy, and laryngeal electromyography. Two types of endoscopes may be used to
visualize the vocal folds. One type is a rigid endoscope that is placed in the back of the oral cavity
with a camera pointing down

The Pros And Cons Of Steroids In Major League Baseball
In Major League Baseball, numerous players have put up tremendous statistics and record breaking
numbers. There are a great amount of players in the league that have done this naturally, however it is
not uncommon to see star players get caught taking performance enhancing drugs or steroids. Steroid
use in baseball has been an issue since the earliest days of the game, and can be seen very frequently
in players today. Jose Canseco was a star hitter in the major leagues, who had admitted to steroid later
in his career. Canseco once estimated that 85% of other players were also taking performance
enhancing drugs. Though that estimate is not proven, there are still many players today that are taking
these steroids, and it needs to remain an issue in the eyes of the MLB. Taking these drugs not only
promotes the risk of significant side effects and health problems to the player consuming them, but it
makes changes to the game itself as well. The way the game is being played has changed over time
due to this issue, and players are receiving advantages that other players are not. Overall, these illegal
drugs are unfair to other players in the game and simply are not safe, and should never become legal
in the league.
Throughout the history of major league baseball we have seen countless astonishing hitters come pass
through, some putting up record breaking numbers, at times too good to be true. Barry Bonds, known
as the homerun king was able to put up an amazing total of 73 home runs in 2001. The very next
season, he continued to present his skill with a .370 batting average. Between 1999 and 2007, Bonds
stats were shocking, hitting 351 home runs, winning four national league MVP awards, and racking up
780 RBI s, 69 stolen bases, and just over one thousand hits. Alex Rodriguez, better known as A rod is
another huge name when talking about the greatest hitters in baseball. For nine seasons out of
Rodriguez s twenty two season career, 8.5% of the balls he would put into play were home runs. By
the end of his lengthy career, he was able to collect 698 home runs, over two thousand RBI s and runs
scored, with over three thousand hits. He was also named All Star fourteen times. With numbers like
these, it is hard to

Essay On Dried Fruits
What do u prefer, fresh fruits or dried fruits ? Which choice is healthier? A question we may ask
because many people don t like the idea of eating fresh fruits. So the question is : Can we replace fresh
fruits with dried ones ? As everything in life it is choice you have to take. It is a very commom snack
among young children, and adults as well. Drying is a very good way to preserve foods and use it for a
long period of time . As many processed food, it could lose some of its nutrients . Here is a summary
for the steps that are taken for this process:
Heat or air dryness in a good air circulation.
Select fresh, fully ripened fruit .
Dip food in ascorbic acid, citric acid or lemon juice
Condition to 4 to 10 days before packaging
Put it in tighten containers.
The history of dried food originates long time ago fresh fruits at that time were not available in all
seasons ,so they used these methods so they can find something to eat in the winter seasons. The
before using these fruits they used to reconstituted it with water to add the water what was lost during
the drying methods. Of course the methods they used to try the fruit were very basic. In these days
dried food is being used as a way to avoid eating eating the fresh fruits. As some people try to avoid

Additionally, in his novel Squirrel INC., Stephen Denning states that a story can communicate a
company s brand (56). Also, a personal story can communicate who you are as an entity (54). We
decided that a compilation of personal stories would be the best method to communicate the values
and outcomes of the SDP, and therefore, show administrators how valuable the program is to people.
Denning further supports this idea when he states that effective companies spark change when Groups
possess analogous who we are stories, which are less about the leader s personal experiences and
attitudes and more about the joint experiences and attitudes of the people within the organization and
their shared beliefs (Denning 58). Therefore, the sections of the interviews we chose to include in the
video help paint a picture of the organization as a whole. Also, we added in a few photos of the
participants activities, so as to not only let our viewers hear the benefits of the program, but also see
visual proof of how the program is a beneficial entity. Denning states that In performing the story, the
storyteller relives the story and makes it fresh as if the viewers were there at those particular, specified
moments (Denning 26). Our goal was to have our audience feel as though they were apart of each
participants activities through the various photos. Furthermore, we decided to begin our video with a
brief introduction into the program by one of the former chairs of the SDP, and what it essentially
accomplishes because a traditional narrative has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. The beginning
of the story sets the context of the narratives that follow it (50). We wanted to prepare our

Ames Room Essay
The visual perception field is a very old are of study in psychological research. From ancient Greece
to modern day scholars, philospher and psychologists have been studying on visual perception for
centruries. As a result of people studying visual perception for such a lengthy amount of time, ground
breaking researches have been conducted by many observers like Emil Emmert. In1881 it was found
by Emil Emmert that an objects size afterimage seems to vary in size based on whether it is positioned
close or farther away. When near by the object looks small. And the farther away it gets, the size of the
object becomes noticeably larger. It s perceived size is thought to be fixed on the retina and as it

Ames has also restricted the viewers to only observe the room through a peekhole. He also
strategically placed the floors, ceiling and walls by slanting them which manipulated their depth
perception and size constancy. Therefore Ames Room also had an element of suprise. Meanwhile
Emmert s Law did not involved any optical illusions, therefore Emmert regarded the perceived sizes
of the objects in the after image as a reaction of the body to continue psychological function.
According to Emmert s Law the perceptual constancy was thought to happen by multiple depth
perception cues that include; binocular vision, linear perspective and monocular cue. In contrast to
Emmert s Law in Ames Room Illusion there are 2 illusions that take place. By looking through a
peeping whole with one eye, the peephole eliminates all the depth perception cues and causes the
room to appear like a regular cubic room. The other illusion is the fact that objects swtich sizes as they
swap places in the room. This leds all the distance cues to be abolished as

Light and Dark in The Godfather Francis Ford Coppola s The Godfather (1972) is a film about the
contrast between light and dark. This is apparent not only in the overall theme of the film, which is
about Michael Corleone s transition from patriot to the head of a criminal syndicate (good to evil), but
also in the cinematography throughout the film. Both light and dark are often juxtaposed throughout
many significant scenes, perhaps most prominently in both the opening of Vito in his office while his

Pluralism
In my opinion, I view the notion of pluralism as one that encourages having an open mind and a
positive diversity of views towards the coexistence of different groups. According to Diana L. Eck,
pluralism is not just tolerance, but the active seeking of understanding across lines of difference. After
reading her article which is featured in The Pluralism Project at Harvard University, I understand that
pluralism requires energetic and committed engagements with diversity. University of Toronto
professor Shafique Virani hypothesized that, today, there is a lack of pluralism in relation to the
acceptance of religious diversity and beliefs. For example, in his TEDTalk at UTSC, he referenced the

When a multinational company has difficulty raising equity capital, due to the lack of adequate private
risk capital in a foreign country, the company may explore the possibility of selling partial ownership
to the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The IFC is a subsidiary of the World Bank that also
provides debt capital and equity capital to qualified companies (Basic facts about IFC, 2005, p1).
These alternative sources of financing may significantly differ with respect to cost, terms, and
conditions. Therefore, management must carefully locate and use the proper means to finance
international business operations.
Due to the fact that more firms are becoming multinational, it is expected that the GFS will gain
importance over the next decade. Expanding operations to foreign countries has become the goal for
many U.S. companies. In addition, the above mentioned financial institutions will play a big role in
the decision making if operations can expand abroad or not. Considering that the services the GFS
provides encompass a wide array of services, it is likely that the magnitude of this industry will
increase proportionately with the speed of globalization. Globalization will be the driving force for the
GFS. As our world becomes more interrelated, global financial institutions will become helping guides
to companies who want to become multinational.

Essay about Indigenous Health
The status of Indigenous health in contemporary Australia is a result of historic factors as well as
contemporary socio economic issues (Hampton Toombs, 2013, p. 1).
The poor health position of Indigenous Australians is a contemporary reflection of their historical
treatment as Australia s traditional owners. This treatment has led to Indigenous Australians
experiencing social disadvantages, significantly low socio economic status, dispossession, poverty and
powerlessness as a direct result of the institutionalised racism inherent in contemporary Australian
society.

The National Inquiry into the separation of the children concluded that between one in three and one
in ten Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families and communities in the period
from approximately 1910 until 1970 (Wilkie, 1997). It was the 1960s, at the earliest, when the various
protection Acts were either abolished or discontinued.
In the early 1890 s, protectionism gave way to state and commonwealth government regimes of
segregation. In the development of the constitution, politicians included sections specifically
excluding Indigenous Australians, such as the white Australia policy, ensuring that racism became
entrenched in the new nation s future. Reserves and missions were set up far from white settlements,
to exclude and control Indigenous Australians, especially those of mixed descent (Hampton Toombs,
Racism, colonisation/colonialism and impacts on indigenous people, 2013).
By the 1950 s all state governments invoked a new policy called assimilation (1950 s 1960 s), which
aimed to eliminate Indigenous cultures, religion and languages. Assimilation was based on the belief
that if living conditions were improved, Indigenous Australians were to be absorbed into White
Australian society (Hampton Toombs, Racism, colonisation/colonialism and impacts on indigenous

William Shakespeare s Taming Of The Shrew
Many classic literary works are considered timeless due to the way they tackle the human condition.
These works have stood the test of time and continue to do so because they grapple with economic
and social issues that people of all ages, from all walks of life, can relate to. Shakespearean plays
ideally encompass these viewpoints; they can be tragic, comedic or even romantic. Taming of the
Shrew by William Shakespeare explores the marriage between a shrewd woman, Katherine and a
willing suitor, Petruchio. Petruchio challenges himself to try and transform shrewd ways of Katherine
to turn her into the ideal and obedient house wife by using various techniques, such as denying her
company and even food and clothing. The comedic genre is shown through the clever language and
the witty words, revealing an entertaining and light hearted tone. Classic literary works should always
be relatable and to this day, this play is still engaging people with issues prevalent in modern day
society.
During Shakespearean and Elizabethan times, women were not seen as equal and were treated like
property, traded like cattle and sold off with a dowry during marriage. They had to be subservient to
the men in their lives, whether it be towards their father or their husband. The man was seen as
stronger, more able to do everyday tasks and providing for the family, while the women were to stay at
home to raise the kids and clean the house. Despite society s claims of advancement, women are still

Outliers Essay
Outliers Essay
An Outlier is someone who stands out in a group due to their mastery of a certain skill and because of
that they are successful. According to Gladwell not anyone can become successful; it takes the right
circumstances and opportunities. Human s capability seems limitless, and if we put in the time and
hard work we can achieve our goals. We as a society love to think that a person may become
successful and that we all have the same opportunities and chance of succeeding if we just work hard
enough. According to Malcom Gladwell, the author of the book Outlier s these common beliefs are

This seemingly small advantage in most cases tends to give the older kids an advantage over the
younger players because they get more playing time, get placed on better teams, receive better
coaching, and in turn become more skilled hockey players. Obviously those who go on to succeed
must have innate talent, but that is not the primary factor deciding whether they succeed or fail at the
sport. The primary factor in how good they become at hockey is the better opportunities they received
because of their age. When applying Gladwell s Outlier theory The outliers in a particular field

(37) the birth date of the hockey players serves a crucial role and is just an arbitrary advantage. The
coaches should not place the same expectations on the younger players or the younger players should
be put in a younger league more suitable for them so they too can be given a chance to become great
like those born in the earlier months. Since this doesn t happen though those born earlier are much

The Importance Of Reproductive Rights
Women s rights have always been, and will most likely continue to be, an extremely controversial
issue. There are many individuals that, still to this day, do not believe that men and women are equal
and therefore, shouldn t be treated as such. However, despite the constant opposition, women s rights
have come a long way over the last several decades. During the 20th century alone, women gained
some of their most monumental rights, in my opinion. Some of these rights include, but are not limited
to having the right to; vote, be payed the same amount as men for equal work, and not be
discriminated against due to their sex, religion, race, etc. Also during the 20th century, women were
granted reproductive rights, which I will be focusing on for the duration of this paper.
According to the United Nations, reproductive rights are defined as the basic rights of all couples and
individuals to decide freely and responsibly the number, spacing and timing of their children and to
have the information and means to do so, and the right to attain the highest standard of sexual and
reproductive health . The definition also includes the right to make decisions concerning reproduction
free of discrimination, coercion and violence (United Nations 20). Reproductive rights are recognized
human rights under both national and international laws. Even though women s reproductive rights are
documented by laws, violations of these said rights still occur very frequently. These violations can

Cause And Effect Of Chacxulub Impact
Chicxulub Impact

The Cause:
An Asteroid is formed in the inner solar system in a particular part called the Asteroid Belt, when
small particles of rock and metal collide with each other, and slowly build up over time. Planets are
formed the same way as asteroids, but what stops asteroids from growing and becoming a planet is
due to the gravitationally pull of Jupiter. The asteroid belt lies between Jupiter and mars. Because of
Jupiter s gravitationally pull the asteroid goes at a highly increased speed causing it to crash into other
asteroids in the belt, the result of this is either the asteroids bounce off one another or they break off
and don t stick together. The asteroid belt contains billions of asteroids in all different sixes. Majority

Managing human emotions plays a critical role in everyday functioning. After years of lively debate
on the significance and validity of its construct, emotional intelligence (EI) has generated a robust
body of theories, research studies, and measures (Stough, Saklofske, amp; Parker). There has been
work and many ideas by Jack Mayer, Peter Salovey, David Caruso, Daniel Goleman, and Steve Hein
to name a few. All researchers have different interpretations of the term emotional intelligence and
different visions of what emotional intelligence can mean for humanity (Hein, 2005). In 1985 Wayne
Leon Payne, then a graduate student at an alternative liberal arts college in the USA, wrote a doctoral
dissertation which included the term emotional intelligence in the title. This seems to be the first
academic use of the term emotional intelligence. In the next five years no one else seems to have used
the term emotional intelligence in any academic paper. Then in 1990 the work of two American
university professors, John Mayer and Peter Salovey, was published in two academic journal articles.
Mayer and Salovey were trying to develop a way of scientifically measuring the difference between
people s ability in the area of emotions. They found that some people were better than others at things
like identifying their own feelings, identifying the feelings of others, and solving problems involving
emotional issues. Since 1990 these professors

Swot Approaches Of Strategic Human Resource Management Essay
Essay: SHRM Approaches Analyzing Case Study
Introduction
Strategic human resource management (SHRM) is a design and an approach for managing the
companies human resources and the needs of their employees along with goals of the company, it
requires thinking ahead and making the new ways for the organization to meet requirements of their
employees and the employees should fulfil the requirements of the organization as well as achieving
the sustainable competitive advantages(Bratton Gold,2012).The SHRM has three approaches universal
approach, contingency approach configurationally approach, but in this essay there is a review of only
two major approaches i.e. universal and contingency along with their strengths and limitation as well
as how these approaches are applicable in different contexts. Next we will analyze the SHRM
approaches used by Google and what were it fails and how it is supporting SHRM.
Major SHRM Approaches
Universal Approach
The universal approach, also commonly referred to as the best practice approach, to SHRM posits that
some human resources practices are always better than others, and that all organizations should adopt
these best practices (Jamali and Afiouni, 2012).The main logic is that the entire organisation can see
improvements in work performance but only after identifying the best practice and implementing it.
The most eminent model in universal approach is by Pfeffer (1994), who contended that practices such

Female Characters In The Hebrew Bible And Medea
In the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Genesis and the Greek play Medea, by Euripides, contain female
characters that can be seen as complex and have significance and meaning in the text. There are many
interpretations involving the female characters, some characters may be portrayed as weak and
irrational or strong willed and wise. I will argue that, women are portrayed in the Hebrew Bible and
Medea as irrational and senseless, in order for the men to be portrayed as superior and for women to
be seen as inferior. This idea of the female characters being irrational and senseless can be seen in
Genesis 4, Genesis 18, Genesis 29, and throughout the Medea play. In the Hebrew Bible, a significant
section where this idea can be seen is in the beginning with the story of Adam and Eve, specifically in
Genesis 4. When Eve is manipulated to eat the forbidden fruit, it poses the idea that the suffering of
humankind was caused by a woman, showing the idea that woman react without consideration or
senselessly, when really Eve was only acting on a very human trait, curiosity. When Eve convinces
Adam to eat the forbidden fruit, one of gods punishment to Eve is Your man shall be your longing, and
rule over you (p.97). Or when God describes Eve as his woman , God is essentially saying she is not
her own independent person and is meant to be owned by men. This passage alone shows that women
are viewed as people that were meant to be controlled; that men were always meant to be above them.

Pros And Cons Of Robber Barons

economy. They create wealth. A robber baron, by comparison, focuses all their efforts on creating or

What Is The Tone Of The Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
The Girl is a poem that was written by Jamaica Kincaid. The poem depicts a mother instructing her
daughter of what to do, and how to do it. As stated in the poem the child was being instructed on how
to buy cotton which shows that the person receiving the instruction is a girl, buying cotton to make a
nice blouse, shows females attributes and qualities. As quoted, iron your father s khaki shirt so that it

because of the instruction in which the mother was giving to the daughter. As stated, always eat your

The instructive lessons that are outlined in the text for example, how to wash the clothes, how to smile
at someone you like, and how to set the table. Shows that the girl does not know how to do things in
the right way or what is pleasing to the mother s approval. In Girl the mother is trying to teach the
daughter manners including how to smile to people even if you do not like that person and how to set

The Theme Of Religious Themes In The Birthmark By...
Many of Nathaniel Hawthorne s works have very religious themes and overtones. His short story The
Birthmark is no different. In this short story, many religious analogies are present. Hawthorne uses
characterization, symbolism, and theme to make various statements about Christianity and sin. His
characters can be seen as the two main figures in Christianity, God and Jesus. There are also many
symbols in the story that have religious ties and connections. There are several themes present in the
story that may give the reader insight into Hawthorne s religious views. All of these elements lend
themselves to analysis with a spiritual focus.
The two main characters of The Birthmark are Alymer, an intelligent yet arrogant scientist; and his
wife, Georgiana, a beautiful, selfless woman with only one flaw, a birthmark on her cheek. Alymer
believes that science can solve any problem. He also seems to think that he can use science to fix what
most Christians would see as God s perfect creation: Georgiana s birthmark. Alymer sees himself as a
god of sorts, and shows this when he attempts to improve on nature (Ellis 33). He is loving, but very
controlling and sees himself as the highest power, much like God. His arrogance eventually becomes
his downfall, because he is so confident in his ability to fix Georgiana that he ends up killing his wife,
the most important thing in his life, except science. Georgiana however, is the exact opposite.

required 18 (AN) and 30 (BN) participants who have been diagnosed with AN or BN to write two
letters; one to their disorder as a friend and the other as a foe. From these letters, the researchers
analyzed and coded certain phrases and then divided these into pros and cons. While I believe this
study contains many flaws, it is interesting to see how they can describe both the positive and negative
aspect of their disorder. After reading through the articles, I began to understand the perception of
control and power that these participants may feel. While it may be maladaptive behaviors, as an
individual with a mental disorder, they believe that they are gaining something distinct from their
behavior whether it be the feelings of superiority of succeeding in losing weight where others have
failed or it being the one thing they can control in their life. Another aspect that I think it is important
to discuss, is the descriptors that were used in creating the eating disorder persona for lack of a better
term. The individuals in Dying to Be Thin were described by professionals as harm avoidant ,
perfectionists , and controlled . To me, this indicates a point in

Choose The Appropriate Joinery Technique When Building...
To: ENGL 315 45 Classmates
From: CJ Peterson
Subject: How to Choose the Appropriate Joinery Technique when building wood furniture
Date: April 6, 2016
Many people want to build their own furniture and other wood projects, but aren t sure how to start.
Different types of projects require different types of joinery, but your average Do It Yourselfer (DIYer)
can do most beginner projects.
It may seem overwhelming to many of you to take on a new task such as building your very own
furniture. Choosing the wrong joint could lead to additional unnecessary steps, weaken the object, and
cause premature failure of the furniture. Alternatively, it could just plain look unattractive a thing to be
avoided for sure.
Choosing the appropriate joinery technique is quite simple as long as you follow the appropriate steps.
I have been building furniture and remodeling homes for eight years, which means I have done quite a
bit of woodworking. I am hoping to share this experience with my classmates so that they can reach
the very attainable goal of building their own furniture.
A good place to begin is to identify the main joints, consider what uses each is best used for, and
examine your own ability to execute each. These joints have all been around for a long time; they have
been tested in numerous applications. In this report, I highlight some of the main joints and their
applications.
Joint Options and Selecting the Correct Joint For Your Project

Why Are Animals Endangered Animals
Why are animals being endangered? Endangered species are any species that s threatened; their
numbers of is being decreased and have the danger of getting extinct. A threatened animal is likely to
become endangered in the upcoming future. There are many causes of animal endangerment some
reasons are, habitat loss that is mainly caused by natural disasters, the introduction of new species,
pollution, and overconsumption. Also, humans play a major role in animal s endangerment.
Habitat loss is one of the main reasons why animals get endanger or threaten; it is caused mainly by
phenomena such as floods, hurricanes, thunderstorms, earthquakes, and fire. During natural disasters,
a lot of animals get killed, lose their homes, which cause them to migrate to another environment,
which might not be suitable for them and affect their well being that leads to their death. For example,
the desert is not just an enormous empty piece of land; it is the shelter of many unique organisms such
Desert Tortoise, that are found in the Mojave Desert in the United States, and in the Sonoran Desert.

their immune system isn t strong enough to fight it, or immune to it. They can fight with the native
species over food, which might cause a lack of an essential resource they require to stay alive. The
resource shortage can lead them to turn violent and prey on weak defenseless animals. Organisms that
are located on islands have a higher risk of getting affected and eliminated by the exotic creatures.

Dr. Alan Grant s Jurassic Park
People read books. People read books all the time. Some people don t like books, others love to travel
through the adventure of them. Books are a part of life and no matter what route you take you will
encounter books. Books open people up to a new world of goblins, ghosts, and civilizations fighting
each other over a bag of bread. Books give emotions and have people go through states of suspense,
thriller, action, and so much more. In this book, Jurassic Park, I did experience a lot of those emotions
and realized the adventure the book took me through. I mainly chose the book for the reasons of
action, and suspense because those really touched my heart in such a way, in such a passion. So let s
get on with it!

Narrative Essay On Waiting On God
Dreaming with God is a beautiful gift from Him, and although questions filled my limited mind, my
capacity to comprehend, I owe everything to the Lord whose grace and love abundantly flows. A
series of parabolic dreams and clear visions flooded my sleep nights, and what the Lord apparently
conveyed has created a mixed feeling of excitement and confusion.
Inquisitiveness to understand the mysteries of the night parables led me to dig deeper into His word.
But I couldn t seem to weave the thread together the way it should a sizeable amount of thread was
missing. Prayers for help and wisdom became my expressions and it was in this season of waiting that
I have learned a valuable lesson:
Waiting on God is not a passive move we have to deliberately seek His Word with an attitude of
meekness and rely on the Spirit of God to illuminate hidden things.
One specific dream has baffled me for a long time.
Looking at these two kinds of trees in the garden that were parallel to each other has created curiosity
within. The tree on the left was radiantly shining, abundantly flourishing with green foliage and strong
branches, which reflect goodness and vitality. The other tree on the right was the exact opposite, dead
and wilted, and not one leaf on the branches remains. While gazing on these two trees, trying to
analyze what I was seeing, I heard a voice that said the word nation .
The sound of this voice woke me up mystified. I prayed and sought the meaning of this dream,

Essay about Urban Legends
Joel Beckwith Febuary 13, 2001
Urban Legends
In this paper I will explain exactly what an urban legend is,and
give some examples of very popular ones that have been passed by
word of mouth for decades across the United States.
1 quot; An urban legend is a story that is so bizarre, horrifying,or
unexplainable, that it makes something inside of us want to believe
it. quot; Urban Legends can have traced origins from other countries,
universities, states, or people, that just decided to made up as
incredible story and pass it on to their friends and family members.
Many of these legends were started in the sixties and seventies,
and still continue to be passed on to this day. A good example, is
the horrifying Pop Rocks death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many legends include psychotic elderly people who decide to
kill people or things. One story is of an elderly woman who decides
to dry her wet dog in the microwave(the dog explodes.) Other
legends with the elderly include a crazy woman that kills taxi drivers
as they pick her up, and old men that eat little children!
Many urban legends involve gruesome deaths and murders. This
particular legend was supposed to have happened at the University
of Illinois campus. A girl got off one evening and made the way to
the door where she lived. She and her room mate had an agreement
that if either one or them brought a guy back to their dorm, they would
put a rubberband on the doorknob. When the girl got to the door, she
found a rubberband and walked in without turning on the lights. She
heard moving and heaving breathing,so she decided to go right to
bed.The next morning the girl woke up only to find her roommate
gruesomely murdered. The girl screamed and ran for the door, but
before she walked out she looked at the wall.Written in blood was
a this message, are nt you glad you didn t turn on the lights?
Not all urban legends are completely untrue. There are many
things that can be found in movies, cartoons, and shows. One of
the most popular known of these can be found in Disney s cartoons.
Many times what is hidden is something of sexual content. The most
explicit of hidden content in the Disney movies,is a scene in the

  • 2. Analysis Report On Management Accounting System A management accounting system collects accounting information and converts the information to an analysis report in order to help managers make correct decisions and let stakeholders fully understand how the company runs. In another word, the main purpose of the management accounting system is assessing the company s performance with the help of different measurements. Thus, management accounting system reform should be closely linked to performance measurement. The most traditional way to measure company s performance is comparing the historical financial figures. However, such measure has been challenged by both academics and practitioners as the dysfunction consequences in assessing rewards for managers and issues in capturing customer quality have been recognized. Under this competitive environment, one traditional performance measurement may not be good enough to fit all the businesses. In order to help businesses measure their performance accurately, the innovations and changes may take place when designing and adopting the management accounting system. Focusing on innovations and changes part firstly, two major schools were introduced to companies. They are the stakeholder approach and shareholder approach, respectively. Why is there thunder or lightning? People way back when had to have a reason for all of this, so they came up with myths. Myths explain why things are the way they are. There are plenty of differences and similarities between different mythologies, but what are the differences and similarities of the Norse and Greek. First, let s start off with the similarities of their gods or deities. The Greek god Zeus is the leader of the gods and go of the sky and lightning. He is analogous to the Norse gods Odin and Thor. Odin is the leader of the Norse gods and Thor is the god of lightning and thunder. Another similarity between these two mythologies is Aphrodite and Freya. Aphrodite, a greek goddess, is the goddess of love and beauty while the Norse goddess Freya is also the goddess of the same things. The number of trips taken by Britons overseas has declined by 12.6 million, from 69.4 million to 56.8 million between 2007 and 2011, according to the research by Travelodge. This means that 5.9 million holidays and trips have come out of the market altogether when the number of domestic holidays and trips are factored in. This is shy of the government s stated ambition for domestic trips to replace the number of missing overseas trips, the report says. However, the analysis shows that staycation breaks were up by 5.6% as the recession proved that holidays are an essential rather than a luxury. UK city breaks account for 23% of domestic tourism but seaside towns are in decline by 5%. Total tourism revenue was up 12.6% to £40 billion between 2007 2011 against the general economy up 8%. • 5. America s Lack Of Economic Equality America suffers from a lack of economic equality; the population is divided into social classes. Per Mantsios, the upper fifteen percent control eighty five percent of the nations wealth. This attributes the other eighty five percent of the population the remaining fifteen percent of the nations wealth. The people born into a high economic standing can afford better education which prepares them for better jobs. And those who are born into a lower economic standing are more expected to enter low income schools and conditioned for labor jobs. Higher income families, those of the fifteen percent, are more likely to have children that will obtain a better education. This leaves the other eighty five percent of the population that make up the lower and middle class to seemingly reduced education and public schooling which is only available for free up until the twelfth grade. The population consisting of the lower class, who can t afford higher education, are less likely to continue to go to college; this only narrows their options for jobs. Those in the upper class will have a better education and obtain higher positions in companies than those in the lower class. Educational development is a very important step in life; it seems that people are judged everyday especially on their education. Parents seem to go through extensive procedures to get their children through the best education possible, just to help them succeed in life. It s no surprise that schools in wealthy ... Instead of the settled manly and ladylike sexual orientation binary, Butler contended that gender ought to be seen as variable, the way we act at various times and in various circumstances as opposed to who we are. Butler proposed that by deconstructing the way we consider gender we may move towards another fairness where individuals are not limited by manly or ladylike sex parts. Like women s activists before her, Butler is worried with achieving more prominent uniformity between men and women, yet her accentuation is distinctive, just like her proposed method of activity. A number of Butler s contentions and thoughts are fascinating and convincing, however she additionally has pundits who see a few constraints with her work. Throughout this article we will discuss the past history and prevailing trade regulation policies of these countries and how these polices have affected the macro and micro economic operations within these countries. Some of the non agricultural goods with decreased import tariffs include garments, footwear, and skin care products. Import tariffs on suits and fur skin products are lowered from 14 percent to 7 percent. • 10. Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis ( Uvfp ) Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis Heather Newberg Jacksonville University INTRODUCTION Unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) is the complete immobility of one vocal fold. According to Sapienza and Ruddy (2013), 90% of vocal fold paralysis that occurs is unilateral and caused by damage to the peripheral nervous system (p. 189). Vocal fold paralysis is typically considered a symptom of a disease or neurologic disruption. In one study, it was found that vocal fold paralysis was caused by surgical trauma, tumors or neoplasms, unknown or idiopathic factors, trauma, central nervous system dysfunction, radiation, inflammatory, cardiovascular, and other causes (Chen, Jen, Wang, Lee, Lin, 2007). Symptoms of unilateral vocal fold paralysis may include: aphonia, abnormal vocal quality (breathy, hoarse, and/or strained), and dysphagia. Onset of UVFP may be life altering as the individual has to find compensatory strategies for voicing or even alternative methods of communication. The individual is also left susceptible to aspiration due to the lack of airway protection. These factors make it critical to diagnose the impairment so as to provide the appropriate treatment. DIAGNOSIS Vocal fold paralysis is diagnosed by an otolaryngologist through the use of endoscopy, laryngostroboscopy, and laryngeal electromyography. Two types of endoscopes may be used to visualize the vocal folds. One type is a rigid endoscope that is placed in the back of the oral cavity with a camera pointing down ... • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Steroids In Major League Baseball In Major League Baseball, numerous players have put up tremendous statistics and record breaking numbers. There are a great amount of players in the league that have done this naturally, however it is not uncommon to see star players get caught taking performance enhancing drugs or steroids. Steroid use in baseball has been an issue since the earliest days of the game, and can be seen very frequently in players today. Jose Canseco was a star hitter in the major leagues, who had admitted to steroid later in his career. Canseco once estimated that 85% of other players were also taking performance enhancing drugs. Though that estimate is not proven, there are still many players today that are taking these steroids, and it needs to remain an issue in the eyes of the MLB. Taking these drugs not only promotes the risk of significant side effects and health problems to the player consuming them, but it makes changes to the game itself as well. The way the game is being played has changed over time due to this issue, and players are receiving advantages that other players are not. Overall, these illegal drugs are unfair to other players in the game and simply are not safe, and should never become legal in the league. Throughout the history of major league baseball we have seen countless astonishing hitters come pass through, some putting up record breaking numbers, at times too good to be true. Barry Bonds, known as the homerun king was able to put up an amazing total of 73 home runs in 2001. The very next season, he continued to present his skill with a .370 batting average. Between 1999 and 2007, Bonds stats were shocking, hitting 351 home runs, winning four national league MVP awards, and racking up 780 RBI s, 69 stolen bases, and just over one thousand hits. Alex Rodriguez, better known as A rod is another huge name when talking about the greatest hitters in baseball. For nine seasons out of Rodriguez s twenty two season career, 8.5% of the balls he would put into play were home runs. By the end of his lengthy career, he was able to collect 698 home runs, over two thousand RBI s and runs scored, with over three thousand hits. He was also named All Star fourteen times. Cause And Effect Of Chacxulub Impact Chicxulub Impact By Talullah Lennon The Cause: An Asteroid is formed in the inner solar system in a particular part called the Asteroid Belt, when small particles of rock and metal collide with each other, and slowly build up over time. Planets are formed the same way as asteroids, but what stops asteroids from growing and becoming a planet is due to the gravitationally pull of Jupiter. The asteroid belt lies between Jupiter and mars. Female Characters In The Hebrew Bible And Medea In the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Genesis and the Greek play Medea, by Euripides, contain female characters that can be seen as complex and have significance and meaning in the text. There are many interpretations involving the female characters, some characters may be portrayed as weak and irrational or strong willed and wise. I will argue that, women are portrayed in the Hebrew Bible and Medea as irrational and senseless, in order for the men to be portrayed as superior and for women to be seen as inferior. This idea of the female characters being irrational and senseless can be seen in Genesis 4, Genesis 18, Genesis 29, and throughout the Medea play. In the Hebrew Bible, a significant section where this idea can be seen is in the beginning with the story of Adam and Eve, specifically in Genesis 4. When Eve is manipulated to eat the forbidden fruit, it poses the idea that the suffering of humankind was caused by a woman, showing the idea that woman react without consideration or senselessly, when really Eve was only acting on a very human trait, curiosity. When Eve convinces Adam to eat the forbidden fruit, one of gods punishment to Eve is Your man shall be your longing, and rule over you (p.97). Or when God describes Eve as his woman , God is essentially saying she is not her own independent person and is meant to be owned by men. This passage alone shows that women are viewed as people that were meant to be controlled; that men were always meant to be above them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this short story, many religious analogies are present. Hawthorne uses characterization, symbolism, and theme to make various statements about Christianity and sin. His characters can be seen as the two main figures in Christianity, God and Jesus. There are also many symbols in the story that have religious ties and connections. There are several themes present in the story that may give the reader insight into Hawthorne s religious views. All of these elements lend themselves to analysis with a spiritual focus.
