Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler was a bad man who did many bad things in his lifetime. He was responsible for the
Holocaust and for World War II. Who was Adolf Hitler? What motivated him as dictator of Germany?
What did he do in the course of his lifetime?
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889. He was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria, of German
descent ( Hitler ). Hitler s father s original name was Schicklgruber but he changed it in 1876 to Hitler
( Adolf ). Hitler had three sisters and four brothers. His father died when he was thirteen and his
mother died when he was nineteen. Hitler was only an army corporal in World War I, but became

In 1938, Hitler along with several other European leaders, signed the Munich Agreement. This
agreement ceded the Sudetenland district to Germany, revising part of the Versailles Treaty. Because
of this diplomatic victory Hitler was named Time magazine s Man of The Year in 1938. This
diplomatic win strengthened his belief in a renewed German dominance ( Adolf ).
In 1940, Hitler increased his military activity, invading Norway, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, the
Netherlands, and Belgium. Then in July, 1940, Hitler ordered bombing raids on the United Kingdom.
His goal was invasion of the United Kingdom. Germany s formal alliance with Japan and Italy, known
as the Axis Powers, was agreed upon toward the end of September to discourage the United States
from supporting and protecting the British. This was called Operation Sea Lion. This invasion force
was defeated ( Adolf ).
Ellis 3
On June 22, 1941, Hitler violated the 1939 non aggression pact with joseph Stalin, sending a huge
army of German troops into the Soviet Union. This was called Operation Barbarossa. The attack on
Moscow was called Operation Typhoon. This attack also failed ( Adolf ).
During all of this the Holocaust was going on, more than 6,000,000 Jews were killed in concentration
camps like Auschwitz. In Hitler s mind, the murdering of millions of Jews could be done only under
the confusion of war. From the beginning he was planning a war that would engulf all of Europe.
During autumn 1941 and the

Essay on The Million Man March by Maya Angelou
Almost a million people who were deprived of any sort of human rights had stood up against the
government to make a change. The voices of the people come from the poem A Million Man March
by Maya Angelou which proves that together people can make a big difference even when they go
against the government. Before this big change had happened though the dark skinned part of the
nation were treated horribly and were pushed over the edge, this was explained using imagery. Also a
stanza was repeated very often to remind people of the horrors they had to go through and that is s
time for change using the power of metaphors. Finally during the march there was a fair amount of
repetition which was used to make the people stronger and more ... Show more content on

For a long time the participants had suffered from being treated almost inhuman like but there was a
moment when the blacks where ready to stand up and fight for their rights. Maya Angelou used lots of
metaphors to describe the people s feelings and make the reader fell them too: I say the night has been
long (The Million Man March, line 1 but repeated through out the poem). The nigh has been long is
used metaphorically to say that enough suffering has been endured. This quote is related to suffering
because when darkness is present monsters and such lurk about (scared). I say is metaphorically used
to show strength and leadership. So I say the night has been long stands for stop being cowardly, you
don t need to suffer just come together with all your strength. Although Maya Angelou is showing that
the participants have strength she also shows where it s coming from: The wound has been deep, the
pit has been dark and the walls have been steep (The Million Man March, lines 2 4 but repeated
through out the poem). These phrases remind the people of what they had to endure in life and they
get strength from this to go against the government and make a change. The wound has been deep
represents the pain the dark skinned people had to endure in their lives which they know their children
might have to too. The pit has been dark and the

Corrie Ten Boom From The Hiding Place And Anne Frank
Corrie Ten Boom from The Hiding Place and Anne Frank From Anne Frank s Diary were two of the of
the many people that were living during the Holocaust period. The Holocaust which took place in the
late 1930 s and throughout the 1940 s Adolf Hitler an anti Jewish man came to power in Germany.
During this Germany was in a great depression due to their loss of World War One. Hitler promised
restoration and power and he was easily accepted. Once Adolf was in power he began to invade
countries around them like Poland and Holland. Hitler began to send Jews away to camps. He then
began to rampage around the countries capturing the Jews and sending them to the camps where we
later found out how they brutally killed the Jews. Before some of the Jews were captured, they went
into hiding. That s where our two stories came from our first is The Hiding Place and the other is The
Annex. Although these are not the only stories about Jews hiding from the Nazis these are some of the
most extreme. While comparing Corrie and Anne their personality, experience, and final outcomes we
see that there are similarities and difference. Anne and Corrie had many different and similar
personality. Anna had a very young, and spunky personality. She loved to talk and move around. Peter
said, All right, Mrs. Quack Quack. Indicating that she talks way too much. I only want some fun . . .

Donald Stramanak
I ve known Donald Stramanak for more than 30 years. He joined the rugby team I was coaching in
1990. In 1997, Don found out that the AAU was sponsoring an under 14 rugby tournament in the state
of Florida and decided he wanted to enter a team in the competition. He selected Charles Drew
Elementary to create the team. Don sat with the parents, teachers and the administration and explained
to them the concept of rugby. He did just a great job of selling the sport that on first day of practice, he
had 110 boys show up for 12 spots on the team. He organized the tryouts and enlisted the aid of local
rugby players to help out. While the rugby players were running the training, he would sit with the
parents and explain the program so that they were constantly involved with practices and the direction
the rugby program was heading. The program lasted 12 weeks and in August, he took the team to the

The s Philosophies About The Increased Globalization Of...
1. Appiah s philosophies about the increased globalization of the world, or at least the increased access
to cultures which often did not have significant interaction, claim that it has the overall potential to be
a net positive. His theories have less to do with the actions of sovereign entity and more to do with the
behavior of individuals, but he does simultaneously critique what he believes to be unethical cultural
practices made by societies and so the actions of the leadership and cultural paradigm of the
Revolution will be what is being judged based on the framework of Appiah s philosophy.
a. Appiah s assertions have to do with something which he deems to be other than globalization:
cosmopolitanism. For Appiah, cosmopolitanism goes beyond mere globalization a term that once
referred to a marketing strategy, and then came to designate a macroeconomic thesis, and now can
seem to encompass everything and nothing (Appiah xiii) and even multiculturalism another shape
shifter, which so often designates the disease which it purports to cure (Appiah xiii) representing a
grudging coexistence and maintained separation between different cultures. Beyond these insufficient
terms and concepts, Appiah proposes cosmopolitanism which was coined by the Cynics of the 4th
century BC and means citizen of the universe (Appiah xiv). As cosmopolitanism is mainly an act
undertaken by individuals, a cosmopolitan is someone who places their membership to humanity over
the loyalty to

Srutinize The Quote From Heilbroner And Milberg
Scrutinize the Quote from Heilbroner/Milberg The evolution of the market economy has its roots in
tradition and command systems. Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a
resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the
workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places
especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but
separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would
ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there
is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with
these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and
distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). All
these solutions are relatable to each other with some aspects of each overarching on the others. For the
tradition solution, it focused on solving the issue of production. Each member of the society had their
role predefined similar to their parents occupations. Notably, sons ... Show more content on

amalgamation of political and economic power, exploration, the changing currents of the religious
climate, Calvinism, the collapse of the manorial system, and the emergence of the cash economy

transactions as the pinnacles of the economic solution, and the individual started acting in accordance

Theme Of The Man Who Loved Flowers
The short story The Man Who Loved Flowers by Stephen King, is told by a third person omniscient
narrator. This is illustrated when the narrator describes the characters as the pronouns he and her and
also since the narrator has access to multiple characters thoughts and feelings. For instance in this
quote it is clear to see that he uses the pronouns he and her .
Norma, he whispered, and pulled the short handled hammer out of his pocket where it had been all

The man is portrayed as a young man, well dressed in a light grey suit. When he walked down the
streets he was bouncing with a smile on his lips. His tie was pulled down a little and his top collar
button was undone, which give us the expression that he is relaxed. His hair was short and dark and he
had light blue eyes. He is very polite to the people he meet on his way. He is very talkative with the
flower vendor, which makes him appear like he is just a regular young man who is in love.
He has a split personality that chances like the day. When in sunshine the man is described as a
beautiful man full with goodness and changes to evil when he turn into the darkness. When he turns
into the violent murderer he become aggressive and psycho when he swung the hammer towards the
girl he thought was Norma.
After he killed the innocent girl, he turns back to the normal and relaxed man he was in the beginning,
so he himself is a binary opposition that has two completely different kinds of personalities.

What are the consequences of the breakdown of the...
What are the consequences of the breakdown of the
traditional family for American society?
Definition of family: The Western world regards the family as consisting of two or more people who
consider themselves related by blood, marriage, or adoption; also known as a nuclear family. The
extended family includes grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc.
The changing family: At one time families worked together on farms, family trade, etc. They worked
as a family to provide for the family. Parents instilled in their children morals, and values, taught them
right from wrong and the consequences for their actions. With the industrial age, the man left the
home to work in factories while the wife remained home to tend to the running of the household ...

Childcare is not provided by people with an innate love for the child and common family values, it is
provided by professional strangers in businesses. Parents tend to leave the instillation of morals and
values up to the day care providers or the school systems. The schoolteachers have an academic
curriculum they are required to fulfill. Children are expected to have a basic knowledge of social
interaction, letter and number identification, writing their names and tying their shoes before entering
the school system. Parents do not dedicate time to the learning of these skills, which leaves them
behind academically, causing lower self esteem and a lack of enthusiasm in learning.
Parents, single or married, do not spend enough time communicating with their children. As a result
children do not learn how to act or interact with others. This decreased their ability to engage in
conversations, especially when there are opposing viewpoints, resulting in not learning from one
another, sharing ideas, developing a tolerance or an understanding for different viewpoints.
There is a lack of rules in families today and when there are rules they are not consistently enforced.
This causes children to not take responsibility for their actions or to respect authority. Because there
are not enough rules, children are becoming more involved in juvenile crime. These families (parents

Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging Summary
My Jungian Typology is Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging (ESFJ). According to Carl Jung and
Isabel Briggs Myers personality type theory, I enjoy entertaining, giving, and being in charge. I am
also easily hurt and when I feel hurt, it s impossible to hide. I have a hard time making a decision
because I am torn between choosing what is right for others instead of the right choice for me. I have a
good sense of danger and I tend to tread carefully in situations that could result in negative
consequences for others and myself.
I consider the description of my personality Jungian type to be pretty accurate. The only two

I sent the link to him so that he could take it himself. I was curious to see what his result would be. He
is nowhere near as sensitive as I am so I knew his result had to be different. His result is different, but
only in one dimension. He is considered Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging (ESTJ); therefore, the
only difference was that I was more Feeling than Thinking.
I learned from the Jungian personality assessment that I can handle communicating differently
depending on the topic. Communication is easier for me if the topic involves emotions or resolving
ongoing issues. I can have a hard time communicating if the discussion does not have a clear direction
or solution. I also prefer to be involved in helpful conversation as opposed to a conversation that does
not provide any gains. It is easier for me to retain information when tangible examples are specified,
so that I can relate the information to personal or emotional experience.
The results from the productivity quiz showed that I am productive, but still require some
improvement. There are five elements of being productive which include: organization, attitude,
delegations, information systems, and effective use of systems. The area of organization is where I
could use the most improvement.

tetraphenylporphyrinatocobalt(II) showed good catalytic activity towards oxidation of 3,5 di tert
butylcatechol to 3,5 di tert butyl benzoquinone by dioxygen in dimethylformamide. The oxidation
reaction was followed by measuring dioxygen uptake. The rate constant of oxidation reaction showed
a linear dependence on catalyst concentration and saturation kinetics in both 3,5 di tert butylcatechol
concentration and dioxygen pressure. The kinetic parameters have been determined using Michaelis
Menten approach. A mechanism has been suggested for the oxidation reaction. Keywords:

Female Love In Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon
In a man s world, women who want must suffer. They are turned away from personal achievement and
forced down a path that encourages a devotional, misguided love. The desperation derived from this
obsessive love inevitably causes destruction to its bearer in Toni Morrison s Song of Solomon. In her
novel, the protagonist Milkman searches for his personal and communal identity against a backdrop of
disenfranchised, lovelorn women, and the reader watches as their inescapable desires for affection
bring women to ruin. Morrison s female characters are constantly wanting, propelled by their quest for
intimacy. In this novel, female love is all consuming and obsessive to reflect age old oppressive
patriarchal values; women are primarily defined by the men in their lives and achieving a home and a
husband should be paramount for even nonconforming women. This wreaks havoc on the psyches of
Hagar and Corinthians and begets endless anxiety over marriage and commitment. Through the
consistent disintegration of her female characters, Toni Morrison examines the repressive, traumatic
ideal path for women and its prevalence in our and her novel s society.
As Hagar s love for Milkman grows more and more obsessive, Morrison reveals the bitter
consequences of life as a woman seeking intimacy in a strictly patriarchal world. In the beginning of
the novel, Hagar is associated primarily with her female relatives, Reba and Pilate. Even then, well fed

We Must Stop Global Warming Now! Essay
When the topic of global warming comes up in conversation many people either groan and avoid
conversation, or don their dueling gloves and prepare for a heated debate. Some people feel guilty and
concerned; some simply do not care. Different points of view yield different stances on the subject.
Coming from the scientific and environmental points of view, myrmecologist Edward O. Wilson
discusses the severity of global warming, some of the threads of thought that oppose his own, and
some of the consequences of continued mistreatment of the environment in his book The Future of
Life. While some people may claim ignorance on the subject, global warming and substantial data
showing annual increases in global temperature have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Others are aware of the situation, but are unwilling to make changes because their focus lies
elsewhere. One of the main points of view that frequently opposes the environmentalist and ecologist
ways of thinking is that of the economist. From the economist s perspective, the focus is on production
and consumption. He may think: this is only hurting the environment a little bit, if there are
consequences they will be far down the road and we can deal with them once we are more financially
stable and have developed better technology. Nobody can argue with the economist for prioritizing in
such a manner, and Wilson attempts to reason out the logic noting, he is right, of course. Every species
lives on production and consumption... The economist s thinking is based on precise models of
rational choice and near horizon time lines. His parameters are the gross domestic product, trade
balance, and competitive index... The planet, he insists, is perpetually fruitful and still underutilized
(24). The economist is merely thinking in the way that he has been taught to think; he is logically
managing his immediate goals, but he is failing to utilize critical thinking to fully grasp the issue at
hand. Waiting until global warming is a more immediate threat and assuming that the damage will be
stoppable or treatable at that point are concepts that fail to take the immense risk into consideration.

How Did Architecture Influence Roman Architecture
Roman architects did not invent the Arch nor for that matter concrete, but they did however refine and
apply these key architectural techniques and materials to sublime effect we will explore the impact the
use of these two elements had on the development of Roman architecture, how they affected everyday
life in Rome and the results of their use. .
Some of the earliest evidence of the application of the arch date back to the second millennium BCE,
the Romans adopted it from other cultures and were drawn to a number of key attributes of this shape.

The resultant aggregate was very strong and durable as the numerous examples of structures
constructed using it that exist even into the present age attests. The importance of the use of concrete
by the Romans cannot be understated. Concrete allowed Roman engineers to create great commercial
structures that would not otherwise have been possible for example the port of Caesarea which
employed under water concrete technology on a large scale. In addition to the system of aqueducts,
concrete technology allowed Roman engineers to create networks of dams, canals and cisterns that
played a vital role in irrigation and feeding Rome s populace. Rome also constructed a number of
military installations including walls and strategic garrisons which helped to defend her citizens. The
construction of strategic bridges also helped logistically in moving Roman forces across her empire
which allowed her to maintain a military dominance that lasted for centuries. Roman concrete also
allowed for the creation of grand temples, baths and public buildings that helped maintain social
cohesion, supported the political system and influenced the Roman psyche engendering a pride and
confidence which no doubt played a vital role in developing the Roman

U.s. National Bureau Of Economic Research
In December of 2007 the Great Recession hit not only the american but the world s economy.
According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) the struggle didn t end in the
United States until June 2009, and therefore had a duration of about 18 months. This global crisis
ranks fourth in terms of the weighted sum of countries suffering it (NBER). Consumers, who had been
the engine of the economy for the past several decades, suffered the loss of their jobs. Between 2008
and 2009, the U.S. labor market lost 8.4 million jobs, or 6.1% of all payroll employment (State of
Working America). This resulted in the most sever consumer spending decline since World War II and
the worst employment contraction since the Great Depression, reaching a peak of 10% of all the
workforce on October 2009 (BLS). The economy was already faltering in the banking sector, but it
finally crashed with the dearth of credit. As a heart distributes the blood throughout the human body,
even reaching the limbs, allowing the body to work properly, the banking sector pumps credit,
reaching every business in every sector. When the banking sector stops giving credit, the whole
economy freezes since businesses don t have means to pay their bills. There are reasons why the banks
stopped the flow of credit, and they could have been avoided if the government had corrected the bad
manners to which the banking sector was getting used, all driven by the ambition to generate more
revenue. The

Organizational Culture:
Organizational Culture is the key values, beliefs and attitudes shared by the members of an
organization. Organizational culture includes an organization s expectations, experiences, philosophy,
and values that hold it together, and is expressed in its self image, inner workings, interactions with
the outside world, and expectations for the future. A key source of organizational culture is usually its
founder. It can be sustained by creating and spreading organizational stories and organizational heroes.
London Drugs has had a strong culture since it was founded 70 years ago. Their culture was originally

their people and helping out communities. London drugs does this by providing family assistance
program to its employees. An example of this family assistance program is where employees are

element of London Drugs culture. They have created the What s the Green Deal? program, which

Describe the process of operationalizing variables.
Factors that are subjective, effort dependent or abstract are hard to measure. First, identify the
characteristics or attributes that are needed to study and come up with a system to measure the

has revolutionized the idea of acceptance of one s self identity.Larsen wrote this novel in the height of
the Harlem Renaissance . An era that is known for its growth and expanse in the artistic explosion that
happened in Harlem between the end of World War I and the middle of the 1930s. During this period
Harlem was a cultural center, drawing black writers, artists, poets, and educated people. Many had
come from the South, running away from its terrible mistreatment and social class system in order to
find a place where they could freely express their talents. It involved racial pride, fueled in part by the
aggressiveness of the New Negro demanding civil and political rights. The Renaissance incorporated
jazz and the blues, attracting whites to Harlem, where couples danced. While it may have ... Show

After the chaos of the Spanish flu pandemic that struck the city in 1918 and 1919, she decided to
become a librarian and was employed at the 135th Street branch of the New York Public Library. At
the first look, Passing, the title of the short book may project many meanings to the reader. Passing
could refer to the change from life to death. Although the word passing could simply be referring to a
change , the word also suggests disguising oneself, or to take on a different identity. To pass, certainly
refers to a to cross an edge/border. While no significant suggestions of race or sexuality are given in
the title, it anyway suggests disguise, deceit and change . This changing period is quite possibly the
process that Nella Larsen is referring to in the title of her short book Passing. According to Webster,
change is defined as A passing or passage from one condition, action or place to another, and ...the
passage from an earlier to a later stage of development

Comparing the Journeys of Hesse s Siddhartha and Gandhi Essay
Siddhartha and Gandhi strove for different goals during their lives. Siddhartha s goal was very
personal, while Gandhi s goal encompassed the world. This was shown by their spiritual development
throughout their journeys. Siddhartha evolved from an inexperienced spiritual being to a man,
returned to spirituality, and ended with nirvana. Gandhi traveled a much straighter path, originally
being a worldly man merely seeking his correct place in life, when his spiritual development
unexpectedly produced a great world leader; in Gandhi s own words, a politician trying to be a saint.
Siddhartha and Gandhi s main goals were always different, but they traveled similar paths at times.
Siddhartha s goal was to find nirvana. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Siddhartha accordingly sought to lose himself, but only succeeded in returning to himself. At this
point, Siddhartha, the self centered thinker, re evaluated his path to nirvana. He came to the conclusion
that all teachings were useless, that he would have to find his own way to the state of higher being. He
expressed this to the Samanas, and to the Illustrious One, Buddha, whose teachings his faithful
shadow, Govinda, accepted. To nobody, O Illustrious One, can you communicate in words and
teachings what happened to you in your hour of enlightenment (Hesse 34). At this point, Siddhartha
rejected all doctrines and teachings, believing experience to be the only true teacher, and set off on his
quest again.
Free of all thought and all connections but of those to himself, Siddhartha crossed a river, and entered
the town. Here was where Siddhartha gained the experience he had never before had. He believed
himself to have no teacher of doctrines or wisdom, but Kamala, the courtesan, and Kamaswami, the
merchant, eroded his morals and all the wisdom he had learned from other s lips, as they taught him
how to sin, how to lust for women, wine, possessions, and money. Siddhartha became a man, and
eventually forgot his goal of spiritual nirvana, gradually replacing it with a more common goal;
worldly nirvana, fashioned of wealth and other material pleasures. Despite

Civil Rights Act Of 1964 Essay
In case study 4, we were asked to identify and research three different laws that has help us or our

In 1866 the House of Representatives and the Senate enacted a Civil Rights bill that was similar to the
1964 version. The 1866 version made all citizens born in the United States, citizens of the United
States regard less of race and color, without regard of any previous condition of slavery. There were
also fines in this bill that prevented discrimination from blacks. This bill was passed 100 years before
the 1964 version but the reason why we still had widespread discrimination because it was no
oversight and that s why the EEOC was created. The United States realized if they were going to be
successful in Civil Rights, oversight was needed. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
was created in 1964 immediately after the Civil rights act to end discrimination based on race, color,
religion, sex, or national origin in employment programs and make equal opportunity and reality for
all citizens. The Commission job is the receive charges of discrimination, investigate and attempt to

Capital Punishment Essay
Getting Rid of the Death Penalty
Capital punishment was a corrective measure that was widely used all over the world. It is difficult to
pin point the exact date of it s origin but it is a fact that it was practiced intensely during medieval
times. Crimes have occurred probably since the beginning of time and therefore there was a need for a
counter attack to minimize if not eradicate it completely. Laws were created for this purpose, but like
everything man creates they have proved imperfect and in some cases entirely unacceptable.
In Britain, as James B Christoph[1] points out, the major cause for this trend was the social and
economic chaos brought about by the Industrial Revolution. The spread of poverty as well as child ...

Several variations occurred in different countries, for example in Denmark, it was more honorable to
be executed by the sword than by the axe. In Sweden, beheading was carried out by axe, and in the
case of a woman, after the execution, her body was cremated.
The guillotine, is thought to have been created shortly before the French Revolution.2[3] It consisted
of two huge uprights between which a hatchet was placed, and erected on a platform reached by
taking 24 steps up. The doomed was tied to a plank, kneeling down, exposing his head. A cord
attached to the huge hatchet suspended it and when the time came, all the executioner had to do was
cut the cord. Due to its impressive nature, the Constituent Assembly in France decreed that everyone
condemned to death would be executed by this method. Once again, these forms of punishment prove
too severe for any conceivable crime.
In present day society, with the introduction of human right for all, such a form of punishment is
considered disturbing and so it should. This chapter in human history should not be forgotten though,
because many people are still emotionally scarred for life be it friends or family of the unfortunate
sufferers of this act. Instead, it should be known by all and past on to future generations so that even in
the worst of times, such an act should never manifest itself in anyone who has the power to introduce
it back into

Comparison of The Attitudes Of Arthur Birling And Sheila Birling From An Inspector Calls by J.B.
Priestley An Inspector Calls by J.B Priestley was first performed in 1945. The play was set in 1912
before the war; it centres on the wealthy Birling family. A visit from the mysterious Inspector Goole,
during the celebration of Sheila Birling s and Gerald Croft s engagement, proves to be a horrifying
experience for them as they learn that they have all played a part in the suicide of a young girl called
Eva Smith. From the start we see that Mr Birling is a hardheaded businessman and seems to look out
for only himself and his reputation. In his speech to Gerald and Eric he tells them a man has to make

Priestly uses the dramatic irony of this to show how misguided Birling is and what an irresponsible
figure in society he is. He then says that by 1940 there will be peace and prosperity and rapid progress
everywhere. Priestly was writing this play in 1934 he knew and so did everyone else at the time that
Mr Birling was wrong. This shows us that what Birling was saying was a lie. It showed people how
ignorant Mr Birling was. This made you wonder if all of his priorities were wrong. When we are told
the stories of how both characters were connected to Eva Smith. We see although Sheila is caring she
treated Eva smith no better than her father did and that what they did to her was quite similar. They
both had her thrown out from her job. They both did it for pathetic reasons. Neither of them thought
about how the consequences would affect Eva. Mr Birling threw Eva smith out of her job at his
Factory because she asked for a small pay rise of just under three shillings. She then got a Job in a
shop called Milwards. This was a respectable shop where many middle class people bought clothes.
She was enjoying it there and liked being among the clothes. Sheila Birling shopped there and then
Eva Smith brought out a dress that looked beautiful on her. Sheila Birling tried it on and it

Characteristics InStreet Scene, By Ian Frazier
Narrative Assignment
Narrative writers use many different techniques to describe and enhance the theme and/or main idea of
their story. TO make the plot as realistic as possible, authors use imagery and other figurative
language to help the reader better imagine the story. Hyperboles, metaphors, and irony can also be
used to prove a point and make the story more humorous or suspenseful.
3 Stories Using these Characteristics
The narrative Street Scene by the author Ian Frazier uses vivid imagery and excellent dialogue to help
better immerse the reader in the story. A great example of this would be when he describes the people
helping save the victim in a very detailed way, proven by the quote; A slight, brown haired woman
was giving her mouth to mouth resuscitation, while a well built brown skinned man with hair close
cropped like a skullcap was performing chest massage. Using imagery like this can allow the reader to
feel like they are in the action, and imagine the situation in their head exactly how it is told in the
story.
Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell uses imagery as well, describing not only his surrounding but
his thoughts in superb detail as well. He also uses suspense techniques to keep the reader interested in
the story. One such example of him describing his thoughts in detail would be . I thought then and I
think now that his attack of must was already passing off; in which case he would merely wander
harmlessly about until the mahout came

Keny Diverse And Multicultural Country
Kenya is a diverse and multicultural country with over fifty different tribes each with their own
distinct language. Kenya consists of three main ethnic groups; the Bantus, Nilotes and Cushites. These
three groups all have different religious and cultural practices ( Cultures of The World, Kenya ).
Although diverse, Kenya is mainly constituted of Bantus with the majority of them coming from the
Kikuyu tribe. Other major groups include the Luo, Maasai and Kalenjin.
Kenya is very lush and is mainly cool which attracted the interest of European explorers. Countries
such as Britain steadily increased their influence in the area by introducing missionaries and sending
explorers throughout the nation. By the late 19th century, Britain controlled Kenya and declared it a
British colony ( Countries and Their Cultures ). The British attracted people from Europe by creating
more economic and political opportunities for Europeans to move to Kenya. They would allocate large
pieces of land to British citizens, which would displace the natives, or offer them political positions in
the government. The British implemented segregation which led them to forcing Kenyans to work as
squatters on the land of the British but in truth, they weren t any different from slaves. Kenyans tried
resisting British policies by protesting but this only angered the British. The British colonists reacted
by killing twenty five people which came to be known as the Nairobi Massacre ( Countries and Their

Circle of Conflict and the Triangle of Satisfaction Models
Introduction
This paper will discuss two different conflict models and how they may be used to diagnose a

Potential confidentiality issues within the conflict will be described as well. Both the Circle of
Conflict and the Triangle of Satisfaction Models are both effective tools at assisting a practitioner at
diagnosing and resolving conflict.

cause of a conflict. The circle implements five possible drivers of conflict that are values,

also by Nick, Carolyn thought that she would be making the final decision and be supported by Nick

Externals/Moods
On the milieu, there has been change. The inconsistency and negative relationship between the two
staff members have allowed the residents to detect that there is not a leader and when there is no
leader, the resident s mood shifted to suspicion and distrust in the staff. The other co workers chose
not to get involved too much. Since there seems not to be a clear leader for the shift, a resident
becomes argumentative when bedtime is announced. The mood of the whole facility has shifted to
feelings of negativity creating an unsettling atmosphere not only for the staff members but for the
residents as well. Focus must be made on settling this negative mood within the facility or the conflict

Dark Knight Sparknotes
I am going to write a film analysis essay for the film The Dark Knight. My chosen essay topic is:
Analyse how visual or sound effects were used to emphasise a theme in the visual or oral text(s). I
need to show how the main themes of showing morality when making decisions and the power held
by the villain are presented in the film through the use of dialogue, camerawork, sound, and editing. I
will refer to the scene when The Joker announces his social experiment and he and Batman have their
final fight, The Ferry Scene, for my specific example. I will also comment on the director, Christopher
Nolan s intentions in order to show my personal insight into the film.

s most wanted scumbag collection, or the sweet and innocent civilians? You choose... Oh, and you
might want to decide quickly because the people on the other boat might not be so noble. This is The
Joker s way of giving the passengers an ultimatum. Live and kill, or be killed. His experiment furthers
the effect of his actions as an anarchist on the people of Gotham, as the passengers are left in shock
and have to make a life or death decision in such a small amount of time. The lack of hesitation in his
relaxed voice makes it clear to the audience that this was a well rehearsed and planned announcement.
He had organised this and was then ready to begin to carry out his experiment, in which he expected at
least one boat full of people to die as a result. This showed the power and control he had as Gotham s
villain because in just one statement he was able to terrorise people and leave them with such as
difficult decision to make. All scenarios he had implied to the passengers resulted in at least one ferry
being blown up, while he would remain unaffected by the outcome. As well as creating a feeling of
fear and suspense for the audience, who are watching the scene play out to discover the outcome, it
also makes the viewer question: What is the right and wrong decision to make? What would you do if
it was you in that situation? At the end of the scene,

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1938, Hitler along with several other European leaders, signed the Munich Agreement. This agreement ceded the Sudetenland district to Germany, revising part of the Versailles Treaty. Because of this diplomatic victory Hitler was named Time magazine s Man of The Year in 1938. This diplomatic win strengthened his belief in a renewed German dominance ( Adolf ). In 1940, Hitler increased his military activity, invading Norway, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Then in July, 1940, Hitler ordered bombing raids on the United Kingdom. His goal was invasion of the United Kingdom. Germany s formal alliance with Japan and Italy, known as the Axis Powers, was agreed upon toward the end of September to discourage the United States from supporting and protecting the British. This was called Operation Sea Lion. This invasion force was defeated ( Adolf ). Ellis 3 On June 22, 1941, Hitler violated the 1939 non aggression pact with joseph Stalin, sending a huge army of German troops into the Soviet Union. This was called Operation Barbarossa. The voices of the people come from the poem A Million Man March by Maya Angelou which proves that together people can make a big difference even when they go against the government. Before this big change had happened though the dark skinned part of the nation were treated horribly and were pushed over the edge, this was explained using imagery. Also a stanza was repeated very often to remind people of the horrors they had to go through and that is s time for change using the power of metaphors. For a long time the participants had suffered from being treated almost inhuman like but there was a moment when the blacks where ready to stand up and fight for their rights. Maya Angelou used lots of metaphors to describe the people s feelings and make the reader fell them too: I say the night has been long (The Million Man March, line 1 but repeated through out the poem). The nigh has been long is used metaphorically to say that enough suffering has been endured. This quote is related to suffering because when darkness is present monsters and such lurk about (scared). I say is metaphorically used to show strength and leadership. So I say the night has been long stands for stop being cowardly, you don t need to suffer just come together with all your strength. Although Maya Angelou is showing that the participants have strength she also shows where it s coming from: The wound has been deep, the pit has been dark and the walls have been steep (The Million Man March, lines 2 4 but repeated through out the poem). These phrases remind the people of what they had to endure in life and they get strength from this to go against the government and make a change. The wound has been deep represents the pain the dark skinned people had to endure in their lives which they know their children might have to too. The pit has been dark and the ... The Holocaust which took place in the late 1930 s and throughout the 1940 s Adolf Hitler an anti Jewish man came to power in Germany. During this Germany was in a great depression due to their loss of World War One. Hitler promised restoration and power and he was easily accepted. Once Adolf was in power he began to invade countries around them like Poland and Holland. Hitler began to send Jews away to camps. He then began to rampage around the countries capturing the Jews and sending them to the camps where we later found out how they brutally killed the Jews. Before some of the Jews were captured, they went into hiding. That s where our two stories came from our first is The Hiding Place and the other is The Annex. Although these are not the only stories about Jews hiding from the Nazis these are some of the most extreme. While comparing Corrie and Anne their personality, experience, and final outcomes we see that there are similarities and difference. Anne and Corrie had many different and similar personality. • 6. The s Philosophies About The Increased Globalization Of... 1. Appiah s philosophies about the increased globalization of the world, or at least the increased access to cultures which often did not have significant interaction, claim that it has the overall potential to be a net positive. His theories have less to do with the actions of sovereign entity and more to do with the behavior of individuals, but he does simultaneously critique what he believes to be unethical cultural practices made by societies and so the actions of the leadership and cultural paradigm of the Revolution will be what is being judged based on the framework of Appiah s philosophy. a. Appiah s assertions have to do with something which he deems to be other than globalization: cosmopolitanism. For Appiah, cosmopolitanism goes beyond mere globalization a term that once referred to a marketing strategy, and then came to designate a macroeconomic thesis, and now can seem to encompass everything and nothing (Appiah xiii) and even multiculturalism another shape shifter, which so often designates the disease which it purports to cure (Appiah xiii) representing a grudging coexistence and maintained separation between different cultures. Beyond these insufficient terms and concepts, Appiah proposes cosmopolitanism which was coined by the Cynics of the 4th century BC and means citizen of the universe (Appiah xiv). Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). Parents tend to leave the instillation of morals and values up to the day care providers or the school systems. The schoolteachers have an academic curriculum they are required to fulfill. Children are expected to have a basic knowledge of social interaction, letter and number identification, writing their names and tying their shoes before entering the school system. Parents do not dedicate time to the learning of these skills, which leaves them behind academically, causing lower self esteem and a lack of enthusiasm in learning. Parents, single or married, do not spend enough time communicating with their children. As a result children do not learn how to act or interact with others. This decreased their ability to engage in conversations, especially when there are opposing viewpoints, resulting in not learning from one another, sharing ideas, developing a tolerance or an understanding for different viewpoints. I have a hard time making a decision because I am torn between choosing what is right for others instead of the right choice for me. I have a good sense of danger and I tend to tread carefully in situations that could result in negative consequences for others and myself. Abstract 5, 10, 15, 20 tetraphenylporphyrinatocobalt(II) showed good catalytic activity towards oxidation of 3,5 di tert butylcatechol to 3,5 di tert butyl benzoquinone by dioxygen in dimethylformamide. The oxidation reaction was followed by measuring dioxygen uptake. The rate constant of oxidation reaction showed a linear dependence on catalyst concentration and saturation kinetics in both 3,5 di tert butylcatechol concentration and dioxygen pressure. The kinetic parameters have been determined using Michaelis Menten approach. A mechanism has been suggested for the oxidation reaction. Keywords: Cobalt(II)porphyrin complex; oxidation; 3,5 di tert butyl catechol; dioxygen oxygen; 3,5 di tert butylbenzoquinone. *Corresponding author. Tel.: +201008591157; fax: +20 403344352. • 13. Female Love In Toni Morrison s Song Of Solomon In a man s world, women who want must suffer. They are turned away from personal achievement and forced down a path that encourages a devotional, misguided love. The desperation derived from this obsessive love inevitably causes destruction to its bearer in Toni Morrison s Song of Solomon. In her novel, the protagonist Milkman searches for his personal and communal identity against a backdrop of disenfranchised, lovelorn women, and the reader watches as their inescapable desires for affection bring women to ruin. Morrison s female characters are constantly wanting, propelled by their quest for intimacy. In this novel, female love is all consuming and obsessive to reflect age old oppressive patriarchal values; women are primarily defined by the men in their lives and achieving a home and a husband should be paramount for even nonconforming women. This wreaks havoc on the psyches of Hagar and Corinthians and begets endless anxiety over marriage and commitment. Through the consistent disintegration of her female characters, Toni Morrison examines the repressive, traumatic ideal path for women and its prevalence in our and her novel s society. As Hagar s love for Milkman grows more and more obsessive, Morrison reveals the bitter consequences of life as a woman seeking intimacy in a strictly patriarchal world. In the beginning of the novel, Hagar is associated primarily with her female relatives, Reba and Pilate. Even then, well fed Hagar declares, Some of my days were hungry ... Essay When the topic of global warming comes up in conversation many people either groan and avoid conversation, or don their dueling gloves and prepare for a heated debate. Some people feel guilty and concerned; some simply do not care. Different points of view yield different stances on the subject. Coming from the scientific and environmental points of view, myrmecologist Edward O. Wilson discusses the severity of global warming, some of the threads of thought that oppose his own, and some of the consequences of continued mistreatment of the environment in his book The Future of Life. Others are aware of the situation, but are unwilling to make changes because their focus lies elsewhere. One of the main points of view that frequently opposes the environmentalist and ecologist ways of thinking is that of the economist. From the economist s perspective, the focus is on production and consumption. He may think: this is only hurting the environment a little bit, if there are consequences they will be far down the road and we can deal with them once we are more financially stable and have developed better technology. Nobody can argue with the economist for prioritizing in such a manner, and Wilson attempts to reason out the logic noting, he is right, of course. Every species lives on production and consumption... The economist s thinking is based on precise models of rational choice and near horizon time lines. His parameters are the gross domestic product, trade balance, and competitive index... The planet, he insists, is perpetually fruitful and still underutilized (24). The economist is merely thinking in the way that he has been taught to think; he is logically managing his immediate goals, but he is failing to utilize critical thinking to fully grasp the issue at hand. Waiting until global warming is a more immediate threat and assuming that the damage will be stoppable or treatable at that point are concepts that fail to take the immense risk into consideration. This global crisis ranks fourth in terms of the weighted sum of countries suffering it (NBER).
