Unbroken Short Story
WWII will remain as one of the most tragic wars of all time. With an astounding death toll of over 60
million people 3% of the world s population in 1940. In the books Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand,
and Night by Elie Wiesel the horrors of WWII are told in detail about the main characters near death
experiences. Hope is a defining factor throughout the journeys of main characters Louie and Eliezer.
The theme of hope in the face of adversity is a theme common to both stories. No matter how dire the
situation may seem, there is always hope to be found.
In Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, there is much to say about the ordeal and odyssey about Louie the
main character. Louie was an Olympic runner who was brutalized as a prisoner of war in Japan and
was stranded on a raft for 47 days. There is no way he should have survived the horrific times he had
endured, but he did. There were plenty of trials and tribulations that could have made Louie give up,
but the worst was being stranded on a raft only to be found by the Japanese and thrown into a POW
camp. During these times Louie was sick, starving, and being tortured by a sadistic guard they called
the Bird. With small acts of defiance, he was able to preserve his dignity and persevere to make it
through, even though every time he passed one obstacle, he felt there were thousands more. Laura
Hillenbrand then states The same attributes that had made [Louie] the boy terror of Torrance were
keeping him alive in the greatest struggle

Baroque Ornamentation
Francois Couperin and baroque ornamentation
The understanding of very specific features from the Baroque period requires a more general
approximation to get there. Why a culture starts to disappear and another one to grow? For this kind of
question there are just inconclusive answers. Bukofzer distinguished three major periods, though he
acknowledged that they did not coincide in different countries: 1580 1630, early baroque; 1630 80,
middle Baroque; 1680 1730, late Baroque. Clercx pushed the beginning of the period back to the
middle of the 16th century, where she located a phase of primitive Baroque . The second period, full
Baroque (plein baroque), occupied the entire 17th century. Finally after the style was achieved there
was a tardy Baroque (baroque Tardif), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After The Reformation in the early sixteenth century Europe was in a deep confusion. This confusion
produced misery and armed violence in an unimagined scale until then. Important changes started to
happen in Europe during the second half of the sixteenth century, especially in the perceptions and
sensibilities toward the arts music was one of these important changes. A complexity of musical
developments emanated from the second half of the sixteenth century, influencing and at times
determining the new directions of music after the turn of the century. During the second half of the
sixteenth century there were a bewildering variety of experimentations and innovative approaches to
composing. This reflects the the turmoil among composers and theorists as they confronted the
challenges to the previously accepted principles of contrapuntal style, the ars perfecta of the Franco
Flemish polyphony, and the burgeoning innovative attemps to create a new style or styles of greater
musical expressivity. The result of these experiments was the baroque, which is the consequence of
Renaissance culture. A feature of some seventeenth century music is the use of

Resistance To Fight The Resistance Of The Holocaust
The word Holocaust evokes an undeniably bitter, terrifying and inhumane memory of the world s
history which should never happen again. The Holocaust occurred during WW2, between 1939 and
1945, and was introduced and organized by Adolf Hitler, the German leader of the Nazi Party at that
time. It is remembered as the killing of about six million Jews in Europe. While the Nazis were in
power, Jews were hated and believed to jeopardize the purity of Germany, so they persecuted them
and passed many anti Jewish laws. For example, Jews were obliged to wear a star of David either on
an armband or a badge so they could be identified. Then, they were arrested by the thousands, forced
to live in ghettos, and later brought to concentration camps. Some were labor camps, in which many
Jews died due to starvation, forced hard labor or diseases. However, by the early 1940 s there were
new death camps that had gas chambers to help get rid of them, like in Auschwitz. However, it is
important to note that not all Jews stayed put accepting their destiny. Many brave and determined Jews
undertook some form of resistance to fight the injustices of the Nazis. An example is Hannah Senesh,
a Jewish fighter who trained as a paratrooper so she could volunteer for an organized secret mission to
rescue Jews in Hungary who were expected to be transferred to death camps in Auschwitz. As
explained by Louise O. Vasvari, Hannah Senesh is known as a Holocaust hero in Israel and considered

Immigration Has Shaped America,But Now It S Becoming Harder
Immigration has shaped America, but now it s becoming harder and harder to enter this country. With
the growing threat that immigration is bad and that illegal immigrants are stealing American jobs,
many people believe the laws need to be even more strict. With Donald Trump recently elected that
may become a reality. Trump has said I will build a great wall and also anyone who is in the United
States Illegally is subject to deportation (Brandner). While it is important that Illegal immigrants be
dealt with not all of them are bad. Immigration has shaped the United States before and will continue

DACA is a program that allows young people from other countries to come live in the U.S with no
risk of being deported. This program has helped roughly 665,000 people live in the U.S (Wolgin).
Although it has become harder to live in the U.S many people still try and enter because they know
America gives them an opportunity that no other country does. This is what continues to make
America great. While a constant flow of people coming to America seems like a great idea to most,
President elect Trump thinks the U.S need to limit the people it let in. During his campaign he said he
would repeal DACA and kick out all illegal immigrants. His thought process behind this is that it will
free up jobs for Americans. Trump is right that it will free up jobs as roughly 8 million illegal
immigrants currently have jobs , but the issue is that Americans won t have the proper training to take
all of these jobs (Krogstad). This will lead to companies not producing what they should and being
forced to lay off people. So overall by kicking out all immigrants Trump will be costing many
Americans jobs and could lead to another depression. Another thing that Trump has said he will do is
build a wall around the U.S and Mexico. This wall will cost millions, maybe even billions of dollars,
yet Trump has not elaborated on how it will be paid for. He has said he will get Mexico to pay for it
and that he has a plan to do it, but nobody knows what that is. This

The Importance Of Equality In The Same Sex Community
On June 2015, same sex marriage was declared legal across the nation. The reason that #lovewins
became a movement was because for years same sex couples in many states were denied Marriage. (
Adam Liptak,2015) The purpose of this online social movement was to shed light on the need of
equality in the the same sex community because the same sex community are still being treated unfair.
The same sex community is also known as the LGBT community stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender and along with heterosexual(lgbt.ie).
There were many Past issues on homosexuals being treated unfair, for example, police harassment,
History.com stated that on June 28 1969 in New York the Stonewall riots were taking place. Later in
the night a little after three a.m., police raided Stonewall Inn, a gay nightclub, which then turned into a
riot protested by homosexuals. Even though the police had a reason to raid their nightclubs , for
serving liquor without a liquor license. New york s gay community had gotten tired of the law
enforcement targeting gay clubs, many of which that have been closed. The rioters then began to
throw bottles at the police and made their way into the neighborhood streets of new York, the riot didn
t end until the police called in their riot police. The riot was then followed by continuous days of
demonstrations in New York and also was the reason for the start of a formation of the Gay Liberation
Front as well as other same sex and bisexual civil rights

State Championship Persuasive Speech
Gazing up toward the stands in hopes that his mother will somehow telekinetically instruct him what
to do next, their freshman star is trembling out of hopelessness. Their Jedi brainwave connection
clearly failed; it looks as though he will have to handle this on his own. There is no question that he
has been in plenty of high pressure situations like this before. The responsibility of being the #1 player
on a state championship contending team as a freshman does not come without a wealth of skill,
experience, and knowing this kid s history, plenty of cheating. But I doubt he ever expected to be in
this kind of situation today. At first glance, he and his teammates should have had nothing to worry

As I sat there in a motionless position similar to that of the Thinker, I was reminded of the
fundamental lesson of sports: There is no substitute for winning. People today often accept a
misconception to about the value of losing. Losing sucks; there is no sugarcoating it. When an
individual completely invests oneself to achieve a goal, anything other than victory can only be
considered a failure. Once we realized our opportunity to reach, and in our minds likely win, the state
championship, our whole season seemed like the rising action in preparation for a deflating
anticlimax. We didn t have to accept failure, but we had to accept the fact that we had failed. I had to
accept the fact that I had failed. Somehow, there is a bitter form of beauty in that dedication to a goal,
but even more, in the perseverance to continue. Sports often puts another commonly accepted
misconception to rest: that we should forget about our failures. Regardless of its outcome, that fateful
match had been the best performance of our team of the entire season. Although yes, we fell short of
our goal and failed, it would be a disgrace to act like the whole ordeal was all a waste. In the coming
days as that match played over and over in my head like the numerous reruns on the Saved by the Bell
channel (I have been consistently assured of its existence), I realized the extent to which I had grown

John Macarthur s The Myth Of Creationism
Introduction John Macarthur is a best selling author and pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun
Valley, California. He is the current president of The Master s College and Seminary. He also has a
national syndicated radio program Grace to You. I believe the author s intention was to debunk the
myth of evolution. John MacArthur addresses creation from a Biblical standpoint. The book targets a
primarily a Christian audience and makes a strong case for a literal six day creation. This is not a book
that fundamentally concentrates on persuading unbelieving evolutionists of creationism, yet rather it
focuses on convincing Christians who trust that in some type of advancement, (for example, old earth
creationism or the Gap Theory) that the primary perusing of Genesis one and two is a strict perusing.
MacArthur constructs a significant part of the book with respect to the view that Evolution is itself a
religion that is entirely contradicted to Christianity. Creationism and Evolution, along these lines, can
never be blended. We should have faith in it is possible that either.
Subsequent to giving numerous reasons why Evolutionism is contradictory to God and His outline, the
book spends a section on each of the days of creation. In every part, the creator demonstrates why
something besides an exacting six day creation is outlandish. In this manner, he gives important cases
of the miracles and wonders of creation. A large part of the book is centered around disproving

Human Trafficking Epidemic Report
Human trafficking is an epidemic around the world. It doesn t just happen once in a great while, but it
s happening all the time. Every single day, people are involved in human trafficking. People need to
help raise awareness of what is going on around the world, and we are definitely not doing enough to
help stop this issue. Also, the way the women and children are being treated is absolutely horrible.
They are beaten, starved, and even murdered. In almost every situation, they can t do anything about it
because they are scared for their lives. Society as a whole needs to be more educated about human
trafficking. In total, 19,724 cases of human trafficking have been reported to the NHTRC hotline and
Polaris s BeFree Texting Helpline since 2007 ( 2014 Hotline Statistics. ). The number of human
trafficking cases that these hotlines get increases every year. The number of cases since 2007 hasn t
decreased. As a matter of fact, it s been going up. Yes, there are hotlines and call centers that are trying
to help, but the numbers of victims just keeps going up. Many victims are runaway girls who have
already suffered sexual abuse as children ( What is Human Trafficking? ). Girls are used the most in

Trafficking will surpass the illegal sale of drugs in the next few years ( Child trafficking Statistics U.S.

that are being sold for sex, and they can keep buying them as much as they want until society steps up

United States is an issue that needs to be addressed. Just because you don t know anything about it

Plastic Products Division received a disproportionately high level of funding because their returns
exceed the company hurdle rates. Unfortunately, the division s beta is 1.28, larger than the corporate
beta reported by ValueLine (1.04) and Merrill Lynch (1.12). As NFP invests more in riskier division
and the division s beta remains unchanged, NFP s new beta and the overall cost of capital would
gradually increase a lot more than the current one, which later poses a threat to the company itself. 2.
Question: Explain the rationale behind using beta as a measure of risk. Compute the company s beta

Explain some of the inconsistencies that can be found in reported betas. Do historical betas provide
good measures of the future riskiness of firms (or divisions)? ______________________________

Analysis Of Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree Essay
Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree explores the opinions of average and lower class citizens on public
hangings on England from 1770 until 1868 rather than the opinions of bureaucrats, royalty, and other
elites as many similar histories do. He argues that the opinions of lower class citizens grew more and
more unfavorable during this time, and the movement of executions to a private setting in the 1860s
was a direct result of the diminishing support for public executions. At the same time, the gradual shift
among elites and other government officials toward the abolishment of public executions was a
reaction against increasingly unruly crowds and the squeamishness toward the spectacle of the
execution (67). This book is organized into six sections with a total of 21 chapters. The first section
describes the mentality of the audience present at public executions, and the second section covers the
private opinions of plebian, or lower class citizens on execution. The third section defends Gatrell s
argument that the outlawing of public executions was more of a solution to large rioting crowds than it
was for humanitarian purposes. The fourth and fifth sections offer detailed accounts of specific court
cases that demonstrate the unfairness and ineffectiveness of the Blood Code and public execution in
England. Finally, the sixth section contains Gatrell s argument against those who deem themselves
reformers who, in Gatrell s opinion, only reformed out of self interest to dispel

After School Dropout Essay
Believe it or not, more than a million students drop out of school without earning a high school
diploma every year! That s almost 700,000 students dropping out of school every day of the academic
year. Without that diploma, students are likely to experience a path that leads to jobs that pay less,
very poor health, and a cycle of poverty that gives communities, families, and neighborhoods many
challenges. Luckily, there are some solutions to fix this problem, such as parents contributing to their
child s success, further support from outside the classroom, and earlier education for all. Since more
than 27 percent of high school dropouts say that they were failing too many classes, it does make
sense for parents and teacher to give the students more opportunities to learn and study the books and
study guides and get better grades. From an article on learningliftoff.com, this shows that students are
actually falling behind and need help to get back on track. Solving this problem may involve after
school tutoring or finding learning disabilities that make academic success more challenging for the
student and help fix them. After school tutoring can help many students because of the one on one
training and help they are receiving which is hard to get during normal class time. After school
tutoring can especially help students understand concepts better. Finding learning disabilities and
fixing them will really help the student and the teacher. The student might work

Research Paper On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a fatal genetic disorder that is caused by mutations in the
gene DMD, which encodes the muscle protein, dystrophin. Dystrophin protein is crucial to preserve
the strength, stability, and flexibility of muscle fibers, which protects them from injury as they
contract and relax. The DMD gene is primarily located in skeletal and cardiac muscle. Duchenne
Muscular Dystrophy is caused by mutations in the gene that produce premature stop codons. The
premature stop codons work to bring protein synthesis to a halt, resulting in a greatly shortened and
nonfunctional form of dystrophin (Pierce, 2013, pg. 286). According to the Muscular Dystrophy
Association (2016), Individuals with DMD experience rapid progressive ... Show more content on

Most individuals with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy have a deletion or duplication mutation. These
mutations eliminate dystrophin function by interrupting the reading frame or by producing a
premature stop codon. Scheuerbrandt (2013) explains if the mutation alters the reading frame by one
or two nucleotides, then a whole thread of incorrect amino acids is incorporated beginning at the
mutation site until a premature stop codon is reached, which will then prematurely terminate the
translation. Therefore, the incomplete dystrophin cannot fulfill its normal function and Duchenne

Statement of Purpose
International trade has helped business in capturing market potential and growing internationally.
Today no country operates its trade independently and this reason itself has reduced importance of
geographical boundaries and made trade associations like WTO, IMF etc. more significant. The
duration of my Bachelors in Commerce has cultivated deep interest in me towards understanding
dynamics of International trade and using it as a tool to add value to business.
Engaging in managerial activities and having an upper edge in statistical and accounting computations
since my high school evolved my interest in the field of Commerce. This led me to pursue Bachelor of
Commerce as my undergraduate level of study. With subjects like Management accounting, Auditing,
Fundamentals of Financial management and many more (related to business) in my undergraduate

The Old Roman Calendar
On the old Roman Calendar, New Year s Day was originally celebrated on March 15, but was
switched to January 1 in the year 153 BC after the date was used for choosing the two roman consuls
due to military reasons. It was customary during the 7th century for pagans from Flanders and the
Netherlands to exchange gifts. This practice was deplored by Saint Eligius. He had not also warned
the pagans to not make little figures of old women or little deer nor should they set tables at night or
supply more drinks than was needed. The Feast of the Circumcision of Christ is celebrated by many
churches, believing that Jesus Christ was born into the world on December 25. Jewish tradition states
his circumcision would have occurred on the eighth day after his birth. Today, New Year s is

The Role Women Played in the Social Reform Movements of...
The Role Women Played in the Social Reform Movements of the Antebellum Period Comprehending
the lives of American women and their roles is fundamental for understanding the entire antebellum
period in America. The period 1820 to 1870 in the United States was marked by a forceful and
widespread debate on woman s roles and their proper vocation whether this be in the home or outside
the home and becoming wage earners. This was, however, still a time in which females were
encouraged to be pure, dutiful, domestic and compliant by men and the government. On the other

More positively, it saw the beginning of the American reform tradition and the first phase of the fight
to overcome the American dilemma, the fundamental moral disagreement between American society s
commitment to freedom, justice, and opportunity for all, and the truthful reality of inequality in race
and gender and was marked by the crusade for women s rights. (American women s history Nancy
A.Hewitt) Two hundred years ago, the traditional roles of leadership were not open to women. Their
status was, at best, confining. Nonetheless, their presence was felt and their opinions were brought to
bear when those opportunities presented themselves. Many of the women who grabbed these
opportunities were close to the movers and shakers of the early republic, while others took direct
action on their own. The expansion of the participation of women in American culture occurred within
the limits of the home and family, but formed nonetheless one of the streams of social development
within which post Revolutionary energies could flow. It portrayed and in many ways helped to
confirm the more open political feminist efforts of the antebellum period. Women s role began and
eventually changed radically during the social reform movements of the antebellum period, they
themselves took on a role completely the opposite of what their

Characteristics, Issues And Trends Of The Region From An...
This report has been conducted on the East Asia region based on the information provided by the
universities of Kansas State and Massey. The focus of this report is to identify and describe important
characteristics, issues and trends of the region from an agricultural perspective. To provide an
introduction and insight first a brief summary of East Asia will be provided.
East Asia includes approximately 15 countries, within this there is a population of 1.974 billion
people. Of the total population 51% live within rural areas resulting in agriculture making up 11% of
GDP, which is considerably more than the likes of the US (1% of GDP). There is considerable
diversity between countries within East Asia. There are major differences between country s GDP per
capita and economic development, resulting in distinctive high, middle and low per capita GDP
groups as shown in figure 1. New Zealand in comparison would be in the high per capita group with a
GDP of $36,200. The East Asia countries in which agriculture makes up largest proportion of their
GDP are within the lower to middle GDP band and are Vietnam with 22%, Indonesia with 15% and
Thailand with 12%. Whereas in comparison to the likes of Japan who has the highest GDP per capita
within the region, agriculture only represents 1%. It can also be seen that the risk of investment
increases in East Asia as incomes reduce and that the middle income countries have considerable
growth potential.

Characters And Characteristics Of Native American Beliefs...
Native Americans were the first civilization in America this means that they do not know how things
were made yet. That caused them to tell stories called myths about how the Earth came to be and how
mountains were made. Myths got passed down from generation to generation and often got changed as
the word passes on. These myths are still around and being told today but just as historical background
to study them. Native American myths have common traits such as characters, morals, and the pattern
of events; imply that Native Americans value land and life. The characters in The Earth on Turtle s
Back and When Grizzlies Walked Upright are similar in multiple ways. One way is that both myths
contain animals that have human like capabilities. The animals could talk and walk on two feet.
Animals loved and cared about each other in ways that humans do and that a bear or turtle can not.
One example is in The Earth on Turtle s Back is Place it on my back, said a deep voice. It was the
Great Turtle, who had come up from the depths (Caduto and Bruchac) this is showing that the turtle
was talking and thinking of a way to keep the Earth from the Muskrats hand from going back into the
water back and sinking back down to the ocean floor. When Grizzlies Walked Upright tells the story
of a bear getting married to the Sky Spirits daughter when she got swept away by the Wind Spirit. The

first year of life and double it by 4 years of age (Jarvis, 2012). Breast milk provides specific nutrition
that meets the infant s nutritional needs and there has been indisputable evidence from research that
demonstrates the health benefits of breastfeeding infants including a lower incidence [of diseases]

And so, these are some reasons why breastmilk and breastfeeding are actively encouraged in health
care (DHHS, 2014). However, when a new mother refuses to breastfeed it is important for nurses to
explore the positive and negative aspects of breastfeeding from the mother s perspective (Barrientos
Bylaska Davies, 2015). This is because nurses spend the most time with mothers during the pre and
post partum period, as well as care for the infants following delivery (Barrientos Bylaska Davies,
2015). Therefore with effective communication and education on different options for feeding, and by
conducting frequent nutritional assessments of the infant the nurse can ensure adequate nutrition for
the infant. The Best Start 3 Step Breastfeeding Counseling Strategy can be used: by asking the mother
open ended questions, affirming her feelings, and educating the mother on the advantages for both the
mother and the child (Lazarov Evans, 2011). It is important to note that educating the mother with
information should not be overwhelming but should be in small amounts of information that is
relevant for the individual mother (yellowpdf). If the new mother still is undecided about
breastfeeding the nurse should continue to encourage the use of breastmilk, expressed milk, and
pumping (DHHS,

I Shall Use Blackburn s `` Think ``
Initial answer: My initial answer to the question of whether or not we have free will is yes, we do
indeed have free will.
Philosophical Context: I shall use Blackburn s Think to discuss my question and initial answer. In
Think, Blackburn has a chapter dedicated to discussing the presence of free will and both arguments
for and against its presence.
Objection 1: In the beginning of chapter 4 of Think, Blackburn brings up the idea of determinism, or
the idea that every event is the upshot of previous antecedent causes. His argument goes The past
controls the present and the future. You can t control the past. Also, you can t control the way that the
past controls the future. So, you can t control the present or the future. This means that every action or
event that happens in the present was set in motion by the past and there is nothing that you can do it
change it the future has already been set. Therefore, there is no free will involved because you are just
doing what is a consequence of the past events and cannot be held accountable for your actions. Some
may then reference quantum mechanics, as Blackburn does, and say some events just happen as
shown in the quantum world. But this then leads to the same conclusion; whether determinism holds
or it doesn t and events just happen, you will lose freedom and responsibility.
Response to objection 1: Even though we are not able to control the past, that doesn t mean that one
can t change the future or be held

Do Soda Taxes Really Work
The debate on weather sugary drinks, especially soda, should be taxed or not has been a topic for
years. Some people believe that they should be taxed for the improvement of health while on the other
hand some people think that taxing the drinks won t do much and actually hurt people. Taxing sugary
drinks is helpful to those who have a hard time with temptation for the drinks. In the article Do Soda
Taxes Really Work? Sifferlin states that when researchers looked at Berkeley residents, they found
that when taxing soda started sales of sugary sweetened drinks fell by close 10% and sales of water
increased in Berkeley by about 16% (4) Just by the percent difference rasing prices on soda made
people decide against buying the sweet drinks,

Marc 1 Realty is a real estate company located in the Charlotte Metro area of North Carolina. This
company has grown from only serving two of the smallest counties in the area to becoming one of the
largest real estate firms in the metropolitan area over the past twenty years (Mosteller, 2015; Trulia,
Inc., 2015). The company successfully thrived during the economic recession and is now facing a
steadily improving market (Mosteller G. , 2015; Koepke, 2015; Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond,
2015). As seen from the SWOT analysis and balanced scorecard previously analyzed, the company
has seen success in many of its critical success factors, including sales, customer satisfaction,
productivity, and innovation (Mosteller J. , 2015). This does not mean that the company needs to stop
innovating and seeking new ways to grow its customer base. A company should always continually
seek to better itself, or it will slowly fall behind its competitors and not realize this is occurring until it
is too late.
Though companies have a broad range of different contemporary management techniques that they
can use to respond to the contemporary business environment, benchmarking appears to be the
technique by which Marc 1 Realty should seek to better itself. A combination of low information
availability, a high number of competitors, and the company being a service provider makes this
technique the most appropriate at this stage of the company s life

Levi Strauss And The Black Jeans
Denim has been a part of American culture for more than 100 years, and is common all over the
world. It has developed over the years and has become a central part of most people s wardrobes.
Denim went beyond just the pair of blue jeans and is used to make shirts and jackets, increasing its
value as a fabric. I strongly believe that there are very few articles of clothing that are as versatile and
easy to wear as a pair of jeans. With that said, I feel that jeans will be a staple in fashion for both men
and women for many years to come. The origins of denim come from a man named Levi Strauss, who
saw a need for type of pants that would last longer. The jeans would mostly be used for laborers
during the Gold Rush in the late 1800s. So, on May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and his financial partner
Jacob Davis created the blue jeans (Our Story). His brand, Levi Strauss and Co., also known as simply
Levi s has become one of the most well known denim brands in America. Little did Levi Strauss
know, but he would be the catalyst for one the most iconic and durable garments of clothing to date. It
wasn t until the 1930s that denim became an item that was worn in everyday life rather just a pant to
wear while working. In the 30s there were many Western movies with cowboys wearing denim jeans,
which became very popular for Americans (History). In the 1940s, during World War 2, the denim
overall was introduced and was worn by off duty soldiers (History). This was the time that brands like

Last Few Days
If you knew you only had a limited amount of time to live, how would you live your last few days?
Many people when they find out the end is near decide to make major changes in their lives.
Everybody copes with death in a different way; some tend to regret how they lived their lives, beings
too careful or worrying too much about what people think about them. Many wish they would have
been able to express their feelings more easily or done things which made them happy. On the Beach
by Nevil Shute is a book in which the spread of radiation will soon end the lives of all living things.
The characters only have a few months left to live, but how they decide to live their last days is up to
them. Each main character in the book represents a method ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While cruising on the U.S.S. Scorpion, the crew makes a quick stop in his hometown. At first, captain
Towers lets him take a look through the periscope, and minutes later, Swain escapes swimming away

back on the submarine. Swain ignores his comments and keeps on running to explore his hometown.
When the crew sees him again, he is joyfully fishing on a small boat, enjoying his last few days. He
tells them he would rather die right then and there in his hometown than in Australia when the
radiation reaches them. Compared to all other characters, Swain is the first one to end his life early;
instead of waiting until radiation crept up on him, he swam directly into it. All the characters in the
book, knowing they were all going to die soon, still waited until their last days to take the pills that
ended their lives. They were all very hopeful that a miracle might happen, that maybe the radiation
would not kill them. They spent their last days with the ones that meant something to them or doing
crazy things they had not done before. In the end, they all died by choice; instead of letting the
radiation kill them, they took the pills to end their

Liberal Feminism vs. Radical Feminism Essay
Liberal Feminism and Radical Feminism
The goal of feminism as both a social movement and political movement is to make women and men
equal not only culturally, but socially and legally. Even though there are various types of feminism
that focus on different goals and issues, the ultimate end to feminism is abolishing gender inequality
that has negative effects on women in our society. The issues and goals that a feminist may have are
dependent on the social organization or the type of economic structure that is present. However, an
ultimate end (a goal, achievement and/or accomplishment) would have to be social equality between
men and women. This would mean the elimination of bias and discrimination towards women and the
elimination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also argue that gender inequality in not the outcome of choices, personal attributes or
relationships with others, but structural sources such as workplaces, schools, and the government as
they are unable to provide women with the same resources as men. This includes healthcare,
education, equal wages and an overall balance between men and women. On the other hand, radical
feminism is a form of resistance feminism, which means their issues primarily lie within patriarchy or
men s dominance towards women. They argue that patriarchy is found wherever men and women are
in contact with each other. They believe that patriarchy is almost impossible to abolish because to be
superior is an attribute that most men have acquired of is already built into them. And whether it s
consciously or subconsciously, these traits are applied into their privileges that Western society has
given them (because they are men) and displayed within all the different aspects and occupations in
their lives. The main view of liberal feminism is that all people are created equal by God and deserve
equal rights. These types of feminists believe that oppression only exists because of the way men and
women are socialized by society, which supports patriarchy and keeps men in powerful positions.
Liberal feminists believe that women have the same mental capacity as males and should

DEFENDING IN FOOTBALL
Defence as a system, is under rated by many coaches in youth and professional football. According to
a survey conducted by students of National Institute of Physical Education in Lleida, Spain, individual
and collective defence practice is generally occupying less than 15 % of all training sessions (Wein,
2004). It is not surprising to see that the players who win individual awards at the end of every season
is either a goal scoring machine or a midfield maestro. Although there have been few exceptions
(Fabio Cannavaro, Franz Beckenbauer, Lev Yashin), the trend of goal scorers or goal makers being
valued over goal defenders continues. The game is based on attacking and defending, yet it is difficult
to make people understand how significant the art of defending is. A good attack, like a good defence,
decreases the number of losses a club racks up, but defence provides a more powerful statistical
explanation for why teams lose Anderson and Sally, 2013, p. 119). Between 2001/02 and 2010/2011,
the following information was recorded
Table 1: Goals (Scored and Conceded) in terms of success and failure Increased Wins Reduced
Defeats
10 Goals more scored 2.30 1.76
10 Goals less conceded 2.16 2.35
The above table reveals that goals scored and goals prevented leads to almost the same number of
wins in English Football. But in terms of avoiding defeat, the goals that the teams did not concede
were worth 33 percent more valuable than the goals they

The Roles Of The Elizabethan Theatre
Elizabethan Theatre Imagine if it only cost you one penny to get tickets to a Broadway production. It
would almost seem too good to be true! Well, back in the 1600s, in London, you could buy your way
into a theater for as little as one penny. This price made it easy for anyone of any class to be able to
partake in the festivities. Hence, the reason the theaters became so popular from 1562 to 1642. The
theatres were very profitable based on the fact they were so popular in the community. The
Elizabethan theatres were viewed as popular entertainment because of their fanciful attributes, their
various events, and their several venues. In 1576, James Burbage, a theatrical entrepreneur, decided to

The pit was the yard around the stage. The pit is where you would find most of the lower class people
at, such as the commoners. The theaters were popular for lower class people because it was affordable
for them. There were other amenities that were lacking for the theaters. Almost all the lighting for the
theater was natural light. This meant that most plays would have to be show during the daytime. The
theaters did not have heating either. In the winter months they would have to shut the theater down
and be transferred to indoor playhouses. This actually helped boost popularity because it gave the
people something to do during the cold winter months since it was inside. There were no microphones
or soundboards to be able to hear so actors had to speak loudly and clearly. Unfortunately, there were
also no toilets at the theater. But there were no toilets and the floor they stood on was probably just
sand, ash or covered in nutshells (Shakespeare Globe Education). During the summer hours when it
would become real hot the pit would be called the stinkards. The theater gained popularity based on
the plays they would have showing. In most cases the plays would consist of humor, tragedy, or
histories. Shakespeare was one of the most popular playwrights at this time, and many of his plays
were performed in the Elizabethan theater. Among him were some other famous play writers,

Through group brainstorming, we came up with a number of variables that theoretically should affect
the price of crude oil, and we used Bloomberg to find data on the same. Our two main criteria for a
good variable were statistical significance and R2. We conducted a regression analysis as well as
multiple regression analysis to double check the variables we selected on the Bloomberg terminal.
Moreover, so as to not omit any good variables, we broadened our search to the Oil commodity
section to find relevant industry reports and prospective variables. Through a process of rough trial
and error, and after eliminating several variables due to problems such as multicollinearity and
heteroskedasticity, we finalized the three variables that are mentioned below.
As crude oil is invoiced in USD, it is of interest to note how fluctuations in the value of the USD
affect oil prices. Another of our factors is the price of natural gas, the closest substitute as a source of
energy to oil. Lastly, we seek to establish a relationship between returns in the S P500 and oil prices.
We used monthly time series data over a period of ten years beginning from 2005 for the purpose of
this study. To avoid issues of non stationary data, we used oil price returns and S P500 returns.

America, Lows for Many, Highs for Some
Reconstruction in America during the post civil war era was a both a test and boundary pushing
experience that challenged racial laws and the livelihood of many African Americans. During this time
period it was both a struggle and battle for everyone involved but none were hit harder than that of the
black community. A great deal African Americans had to adapt to the constant fear of lynching and
discrimination that was a threat on a daily basis. Especially in America during the late 1800 s through
the 1960 s which was very nadir time for many African Americans; do to loss of multiple civil rights,
discrimination, and segregation. Fear and discrimination were an everyday feeling that numerous
African Americans had endure when it came to living during this time period of racial tension and
opposition from white racial groups. To illustrate this point Elias Hill, who on one fateful night on
May 5th, 1871 experienced first hand the ruthlessness of the Ku Klux Klan. On this night the Ku Klux
Klan kicked in the front door of Hills home and dragged him outside along with another black boy,
where they were questioned about the burning down of white owned homes. Mr. Hill replied with I
told them it was not me; I could not burn houses . Mr. Hill and the black boy were beaten for a crime
he did not commit; all so the Ku Klux Klan could gather answers to a meeting held between Mr. Hill
and the Urban League. As a result there was fear on both sides; Mr. Hill feared that the Ku Klux

  • 2. Unbroken Short Story WWII will remain as one of the most tragic wars of all time. With an astounding death toll of over 60 million people 3% of the world s population in 1940. In the books Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, and Night by Elie Wiesel the horrors of WWII are told in detail about the main characters near death experiences. Hope is a defining factor throughout the journeys of main characters Louie and Eliezer. The theme of hope in the face of adversity is a theme common to both stories. No matter how dire the situation may seem, there is always hope to be found. In Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, there is much to say about the ordeal and odyssey about Louie the main character. Louie was an Olympic runner who was brutalized as a prisoner of war in Japan and was stranded on a raft for 47 days. There is no way he should have survived the horrific times he had endured, but he did. There were plenty of trials and tribulations that could have made Louie give up, but the worst was being stranded on a raft only to be found by the Japanese and thrown into a POW camp. During these times Louie was sick, starving, and being tortured by a sadistic guard they called the Bird. With small acts of defiance, he was able to preserve his dignity and persevere to make it through, even though every time he passed one obstacle, he felt there were thousands more. Laura Hillenbrand then states The same attributes that had made [Louie] the boy terror of Torrance were keeping him alive in the greatest struggle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Baroque Ornamentation Francois Couperin and baroque ornamentation The understanding of very specific features from the Baroque period requires a more general approximation to get there. Why a culture starts to disappear and another one to grow? For this kind of question there are just inconclusive answers. Bukofzer distinguished three major periods, though he acknowledged that they did not coincide in different countries: 1580 1630, early baroque; 1630 80, middle Baroque; 1680 1730, late Baroque. Clercx pushed the beginning of the period back to the middle of the 16th century, where she located a phase of primitive Baroque . The second period, full Baroque (plein baroque), occupied the entire 17th century. Finally after the style was achieved there was a tardy Baroque (baroque Tardif), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After The Reformation in the early sixteenth century Europe was in a deep confusion. This confusion produced misery and armed violence in an unimagined scale until then. Important changes started to happen in Europe during the second half of the sixteenth century, especially in the perceptions and sensibilities toward the arts music was one of these important changes. A complexity of musical developments emanated from the second half of the sixteenth century, influencing and at times determining the new directions of music after the turn of the century. During the second half of the sixteenth century there were a bewildering variety of experimentations and innovative approaches to composing. This reflects the the turmoil among composers and theorists as they confronted the challenges to the previously accepted principles of contrapuntal style, the ars perfecta of the Franco Flemish polyphony, and the burgeoning innovative attemps to create a new style or styles of greater musical expressivity. The result of these experiments was the baroque, which is the consequence of Renaissance culture. A feature of some seventeenth century music is the use of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Resistance To Fight The Resistance Of The Holocaust The word Holocaust evokes an undeniably bitter, terrifying and inhumane memory of the world s history which should never happen again. The Holocaust occurred during WW2, between 1939 and 1945, and was introduced and organized by Adolf Hitler, the German leader of the Nazi Party at that time. It is remembered as the killing of about six million Jews in Europe. While the Nazis were in power, Jews were hated and believed to jeopardize the purity of Germany, so they persecuted them and passed many anti Jewish laws. For example, Jews were obliged to wear a star of David either on an armband or a badge so they could be identified. Then, they were arrested by the thousands, forced to live in ghettos, and later brought to concentration camps. Some were labor camps, in which many Jews died due to starvation, forced hard labor or diseases. However, by the early 1940 s there were new death camps that had gas chambers to help get rid of them, like in Auschwitz. However, it is important to note that not all Jews stayed put accepting their destiny. Many brave and determined Jews undertook some form of resistance to fight the injustices of the Nazis. An example is Hannah Senesh, a Jewish fighter who trained as a paratrooper so she could volunteer for an organized secret mission to rescue Jews in Hungary who were expected to be transferred to death camps in Auschwitz. As explained by Louise O. Vasvari, Hannah Senesh is known as a Holocaust hero in Israel and considered the Israeli Joan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the growing threat that immigration is bad and that illegal immigrants are stealing American jobs, many people believe the laws need to be even more strict. With Donald Trump recently elected that may become a reality. Trump has said I will build a great wall and also anyone who is in the United States Illegally is subject to deportation (Brandner). DACA is a program that allows young people from other countries to come live in the U.S with no risk of being deported. This program has helped roughly 665,000 people live in the U.S (Wolgin). Although it has become harder to live in the U.S many people still try and enter because they know America gives them an opportunity that no other country does. This is what continues to make America great. While a constant flow of people coming to America seems like a great idea to most, President elect Trump thinks the U.S need to limit the people it let in. During his campaign he said he would repeal DACA and kick out all illegal immigrants. His thought process behind this is that it will free up jobs for Americans. Trump is right that it will free up jobs as roughly 8 million illegal immigrants currently have jobs , but the issue is that Americans won t have the proper training to take all of these jobs (Krogstad). This will lead to companies not producing what they should and being forced to lay off people. So overall by kicking out all immigrants Trump will be costing many Americans jobs and could lead to another depression. Another thing that Trump has said he will do is build a wall around the U.S and Mexico. This wall will cost millions, maybe even billions of dollars, yet Trump has not elaborated on how it will be paid for. He has said he will get Mexico to pay for it and that he has a plan to do it, but nobody knows what that is. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Importance Of Equality In The Same Sex Community On June 2015, same sex marriage was declared legal across the nation. The reason that #lovewins became a movement was because for years same sex couples in many states were denied Marriage. ( Adam Liptak,2015) The purpose of this online social movement was to shed light on the need of equality in the the same sex community because the same sex community are still being treated unfair. The same sex community is also known as the LGBT community stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and along with heterosexual(lgbt.ie). There were many Past issues on homosexuals being treated unfair, for example, police harassment, History.com stated that on June 28 1969 in New York the Stonewall riots were taking place. Later in the night a little after three a.m., police raided Stonewall Inn, a gay nightclub, which then turned into a riot protested by homosexuals. Even though the police had a reason to raid their nightclubs , for serving liquor without a liquor license. New york s gay community had gotten tired of the law enforcement targeting gay clubs, many of which that have been closed. The rioters then began to throw bottles at the police and made their way into the neighborhood streets of new York, the riot didn t end until the police called in their riot police. The riot was then followed by continuous days of demonstrations in New York and also was the reason for the start of a formation of the Gay Liberation Front as well as other same sex and bisexual civil rights ... • 8. State Championship Persuasive Speech Gazing up toward the stands in hopes that his mother will somehow telekinetically instruct him what to do next, their freshman star is trembling out of hopelessness. Their Jedi brainwave connection clearly failed; it looks as though he will have to handle this on his own. There is no question that he has been in plenty of high pressure situations like this before. The responsibility of being the #1 player on a state championship contending team as a freshman does not come without a wealth of skill, experience, and knowing this kid s history, plenty of cheating. But I doubt he ever expected to be in this kind of situation today. At first glance, he and his teammates should have had nothing to worry about as they face off in the state semifinals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I sat there in a motionless position similar to that of the Thinker, I was reminded of the fundamental lesson of sports: There is no substitute for winning. People today often accept a misconception to about the value of losing. Losing sucks; there is no sugarcoating it. When an individual completely invests oneself to achieve a goal, anything other than victory can only be considered a failure. Once we realized our opportunity to reach, and in our minds likely win, the state championship, our whole season seemed like the rising action in preparation for a deflating anticlimax. We didn t have to accept failure, but we had to accept the fact that we had failed. I had to accept the fact that I had failed. Somehow, there is a bitter form of beauty in that dedication to a goal, but even more, in the perseverance to continue. Sports often puts another commonly accepted misconception to rest: that we should forget about our failures. Regardless of its outcome, that fateful match had been the best performance of our team of the entire season. Although yes, we fell short of our goal and failed, it would be a disgrace to act like the whole ordeal was all a waste. In the coming days as that match played over and over in my head like the numerous reruns on the Saved by the Bell channel (I have been consistently assured of its existence), I realized the extent to which I had grown as ... • 9. John Macarthur s The Myth Of Creationism Introduction John Macarthur is a best selling author and pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He is the current president of The Master s College and Seminary. He also has a national syndicated radio program Grace to You. I believe the author s intention was to debunk the myth of evolution. John MacArthur addresses creation from a Biblical standpoint. The book targets a primarily a Christian audience and makes a strong case for a literal six day creation. This is not a book that fundamentally concentrates on persuading unbelieving evolutionists of creationism, yet rather it focuses on convincing Christians who trust that in some type of advancement, (for example, old earth creationism or the Gap Theory) that the primary perusing of Genesis one and two is a strict perusing. MacArthur constructs a significant part of the book with respect to the view that Evolution is itself a religion that is entirely contradicted to Christianity. Creationism and Evolution, along these lines, can never be blended. We should have faith in it is possible that either. Subsequent to giving numerous reasons why Evolutionism is contradictory to God and His outline, the book spends a section on each of the days of creation. In every part, the creator demonstrates why something besides an exacting six day creation is outlandish. In this manner, he gives important cases of the miracles and wonders of creation. A large part of the book is centered around disproving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every single day, people are involved in human trafficking. People need to help raise awareness of what is going on around the world, and we are definitely not doing enough to help stop this issue. Also, the way the women and children are being treated is absolutely horrible. They are beaten, starved, and even murdered. In almost every situation, they can t do anything about it because they are scared for their lives. Society as a whole needs to be more educated about human trafficking. In total, 19,724 cases of human trafficking have been reported to the NHTRC hotline and Polaris s BeFree Texting Helpline since 2007 ( 2014 Hotline Statistics. ). The number of human trafficking cases that these hotlines get increases every year. The number of cases since 2007 hasn t decreased. As a matter of fact, it s been going up. Yes, there are hotlines and call centers that are trying to help, but the numbers of victims just keeps going up. Explain why risk adjustments are important and how they can affect firm value. b. Explain how the single hurdle rate currently used by Northern Forest Products can change the risk structure of the company. For example, think about what would happen if the Plastic Products Division received a disproportionately high level of funding because their returns exceed the company hurdle rates (its growth rate substantially exceeds the corporate average). Assuming that the risk of the division remains unchanged, what effect would this have, over time, on NFP s corporate beta and on the overall cost of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NFP will face an increase in the level of risk as well as the overall cost of capital. Now supposing Plastic Products Division received a disproportionately high level of funding because their returns exceed the company hurdle rates. Unfortunately, the division s beta is 1.28, larger than the corporate beta reported by ValueLine (1.04) and Merrill Lynch (1.12). As NFP invests more in riskier division and the division s beta remains unchanged, NFP s new beta and the overall cost of capital would gradually increase a lot more than the current one, which later poses a threat to the company itself. 2. Question: Explain the rationale behind using beta as a measure of risk. Compute the company s beta based on the divisional betas and compare it with that provided by Value Line and Merrill Lynch. Explain some of the inconsistencies that can be found in reported betas. Do historical betas provide good measures of the future riskiness of firms (or divisions)? ______________________________ Beta is an effective measure of risk. Unlike standard deviation, beta is a measure of a stock s systematic, or market risk, which cannot be diversified away. To investors, it is considered to be the most important measure. Now we are about to take a closer look at NFC s beta. According to Northern Forest Products case, we have the following data table: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Analysis Of Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree Essay Vic Gatrell s The Hanging Tree explores the opinions of average and lower class citizens on public hangings on England from 1770 until 1868 rather than the opinions of bureaucrats, royalty, and other elites as many similar histories do. He argues that the opinions of lower class citizens grew more and more unfavorable during this time, and the movement of executions to a private setting in the 1860s was a direct result of the diminishing support for public executions. At the same time, the gradual shift among elites and other government officials toward the abolishment of public executions was a reaction against increasingly unruly crowds and the squeamishness toward the spectacle of the execution (67). This book is organized into six sections with a total of 21 chapters. The first section describes the mentality of the audience present at public executions, and the second section covers the private opinions of plebian, or lower class citizens on execution. The third section defends Gatrell s argument that the outlawing of public executions was more of a solution to large rioting crowds than it was for humanitarian purposes. The fourth and fifth sections offer detailed accounts of specific court cases that demonstrate the unfairness and ineffectiveness of the Blood Code and public execution in England. Finally, the sixth section contains Gatrell s argument against those who deem themselves reformers who, in Gatrell s opinion, only reformed out of self interest to dispel ... • 14. After School Dropout Essay Believe it or not, more than a million students drop out of school without earning a high school diploma every year! That s almost 700,000 students dropping out of school every day of the academic year. Without that diploma, students are likely to experience a path that leads to jobs that pay less, very poor health, and a cycle of poverty that gives communities, families, and neighborhoods many challenges. Luckily, there are some solutions to fix this problem, such as parents contributing to their child s success, further support from outside the classroom, and earlier education for all. Since more than 27 percent of high school dropouts say that they were failing too many classes, it does make sense for parents and teacher to give the students more opportunities to learn and study the books and study guides and get better grades. From an article on learningliftoff.com, this shows that students are actually falling behind and need help to get back on track. Solving this problem may involve after school tutoring or finding learning disabilities that make academic success more challenging for the student and help fix them. After school tutoring can help many students because of the one on one training and help they are receiving which is hard to get during normal class time. • 15. Research Paper On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a fatal genetic disorder that is caused by mutations in the gene DMD, which encodes the muscle protein, dystrophin. Dystrophin protein is crucial to preserve the strength, stability, and flexibility of muscle fibers, which protects them from injury as they contract and relax. The DMD gene is primarily located in skeletal and cardiac muscle. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is caused by mutations in the gene that produce premature stop codons. The premature stop codons work to bring protein synthesis to a halt, resulting in a greatly shortened and nonfunctional form of dystrophin (Pierce, 2013, pg. 286). New Zealand in comparison would be in the high per capita group with a GDP of $36,200. The East Asia countries in which agriculture makes up largest proportion of their GDP are within the lower to middle GDP band and are Vietnam with 22%, Indonesia with 15% and Thailand with 12%. That caused them to tell stories called myths about how the Earth came to be and how mountains were made. Myths got passed down from generation to generation and often got changed as the word passes on. These myths are still around and being told today but just as historical background to study them. Native American myths have common traits such as characters, morals, and the pattern of events; imply that Native Americans value land and life. The characters in The Earth on Turtle s Back and When Grizzlies Walked Upright are similar in multiple ways. One way is that both myths contain animals that have human like capabilities. The animals could talk and walk on two feet. Animals loved and cared about each other in ways that humans do and that a bear or turtle can not. One example is in The Earth on Turtle s Back is Place it on my back, said a deep voice. It was the Great Turtle, who had come up from the depths (Caduto and Bruchac) this is showing that the turtle was talking and thinking of a way to keep the Earth from the Muskrats hand from going back into the water back and sinking back down to the ocean floor. However, when a new mother refuses to breastfeed it is important for nurses to explore the positive and negative aspects of breastfeeding from the mother s perspective (Barrientos Bylaska Davies, 2015). This is because nurses spend the most time with mothers during the pre and post partum period, as well as care for the infants following delivery (Barrientos Bylaska Davies, 2015). Therefore with effective communication and education on different options for feeding, and by conducting frequent nutritional assessments of the infant the nurse can ensure adequate nutrition for the infant. The Best Start 3 Step Breastfeeding Counseling Strategy can be used: by asking the mother open ended questions, affirming her feelings, and educating the mother on the advantages for both the mother and the child (Lazarov Evans, 2011). It is important to note that educating the mother with information should not be overwhelming but should be in small amounts of information that is relevant for the individual mother (yellowpdf). • 22. I Shall Use Blackburn s `` Think `` Initial answer: My initial answer to the question of whether or not we have free will is yes, we do indeed have free will. Philosophical Context: I shall use Blackburn s Think to discuss my question and initial answer. In Think, Blackburn has a chapter dedicated to discussing the presence of free will and both arguments for and against its presence. Objection 1: In the beginning of chapter 4 of Think, Blackburn brings up the idea of determinism, or the idea that every event is the upshot of previous antecedent causes. His argument goes The past controls the present and the future. You can t control the past. Also, you can t control the way that the past controls the future. So, you can t control the present or the future. This means that every action or event that happens in the present was set in motion by the past and there is nothing that you can do it change it the future has already been set. Therefore, there is no free will involved because you are just doing what is a consequence of the past events and cannot be held accountable for your actions. Some may then reference quantum mechanics, as Blackburn does, and say some events just happen as shown in the quantum world. But this then leads to the same conclusion; whether determinism holds or it doesn t and events just happen, you will lose freedom and responsibility. Response to objection 1: Even though we are not able to control the past, that doesn t mean that one can t change the future or be held ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This company has grown from only serving two of the smallest counties in the area to becoming one of the largest real estate firms in the metropolitan area over the past twenty years (Mosteller, 2015; Trulia, Inc., 2015). The company successfully thrived during the economic recession and is now facing a steadily improving market (Mosteller G. , 2015; Koepke, 2015; Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, 2015). As seen from the SWOT analysis and balanced scorecard previously analyzed, the company has seen success in many of its critical success factors, including sales, customer satisfaction, productivity, and innovation (Mosteller J. , 2015). This does not mean that the company needs to stop innovating and seeking new ways to grow its customer base. A company should always continually seek to better itself, or it will slowly fall behind its competitors and not realize this is occurring until it is too late. Though companies have a broad range of different contemporary management techniques that they can use to respond to the contemporary business environment, benchmarking appears to be the technique by which Marc 1 Realty should seek to better itself. It has developed over the years and has become a central part of most people s wardrobes. Denim went beyond just the pair of blue jeans and is used to make shirts and jackets, increasing its value as a fabric. I strongly believe that there are very few articles of clothing that are as versatile and easy to wear as a pair of jeans. With that said, I feel that jeans will be a staple in fashion for both men and women for many years to come. The origins of denim come from a man named Levi Strauss, who saw a need for type of pants that would last longer. The jeans would mostly be used for laborers during the Gold Rush in the late 1800s. So, on May 20, 1873, Levi Strauss and his financial partner Jacob Davis created the blue jeans (Our Story). His brand, Levi Strauss and Co., also known as simply Levi s has become one of the most well known denim brands in America. Little did Levi Strauss know, but he would be the catalyst for one the most iconic and durable garments of clothing to date. In the 30s there were many Western movies with cowboys wearing denim jeans, which became very popular for Americans (History). The issues and goals that a feminist may have are dependent on the social organization or the type of economic structure that is present. According to a survey conducted by students of National Institute of Physical Education in Lleida, Spain, individual and collective defence practice is generally occupying less than 15 % of all training sessions (Wein, 2004). It is not surprising to see that the players who win individual awards at the end of every season is either a goal scoring machine or a midfield maestro. Although there have been few exceptions (Fabio Cannavaro, Franz Beckenbauer, Lev Yashin), the trend of goal scorers or goal makers being valued over goal defenders continues. Through group brainstorming, we came up with a number of variables that theoretically should affect the price of crude oil, and we used Bloomberg to find data on the same. Our two main criteria for a good variable were statistical significance and R2. We conducted a regression analysis as well as multiple regression analysis to double check the variables we selected on the Bloomberg terminal. Moreover, so as to not omit any good variables, we broadened our search to the Oil commodity section to find relevant industry reports and prospective variables.
