Muhammad Ali Significance
What was the significance of Muhammad Ali s response to the war?
The significance of Muhammad Ali s response to the Vietnam war was impeccable, because he
showed others what s it is like to take a stand against something that you don t believe in.
Muhammad Ali did the impossible by fighting against the system. Ali was brave and took a
challenge that others would not execute, regardless of the repercussions he would take on.They
tried to black ball him but failed to do so because of his willing to get back up. Muhammad Ali was
one of the few African American athletes who stood up for his community and who spoke against
the Vietnam War. That is why he will always be great and why people call him The Greatest. He
stayed true to his religion and did not let politics over law his beliefs.
Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. to Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr. and Odessa
Grady Clay on January 17, 1942 Louisville, Kentucky. His father painted billboards and signs.
His mother was a domestic helper. Ali grew up in a black lower middle class house in a
segregated black sub division. He experienced racial injustice and discrimination which made him
very defensive. When he was about twelve years old his bike was stolen. He reported it to a local
police officer named Joe Martin. Ali told the officer that he wanted to beat up the thief. Martin told
him that he needs to learn how to fight before he started to challenge

Essay on Abolitionists
Abolitionists Strategies of Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and John Brown
Abolitionist Movement was a reform movement during the 18th and 19th centuries. Often called
the antislavery movement, it sought to end the enslavement of Africans and people of African
descent in Europe, the Americas, and Africa itself. It also aimed to end the Atlantic slave trade
carried out in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Many people
participated in trying to end slavery. These people became known as the abolitionists. The three well
known abolitionists are Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and John Brown.

She always expressed confidence that God would aid her efforts, and threatened to shoot any of
her charges who thought to turn back. For example, Tubman had a very short rule, which implied
death to anyone who talked of giving out and going back. She would give all to understand that
times were very critical and therefore no foolishness would be indulged in on the road . Her
subjects were greatly invigorated by Harriet s blunt and positive manner and threat of extreme
measures.
When William Still published The Underground Railroad in 1871, he included a letter from
Thomas Garret, the Stationmaster of Wilmington Delaware. In this letter, Garret describes
Tubman as Moses . He success was wonderful. Time and time again she made successful visits to
Maryland on the Underground Railroad, and would be absent for weeks at a time, running daily
risks while making preparations for herself and her passengers. Great fears were entertained for
her safety, but she seemed wholly devoid of personal fear...she would not suffer one of her party to
whimper once, about giving out and going back, however wearied they might be by the hard travel
day and night.
John Brown was an American abolitionist, born in Connecticut and raised in Ohio. Unlike Truth
and Hubman s peaceful strategies, he felt passionately and violently that he must fight to end
slavery. The success of the pro slavery forces, especially their lack of Lawrence, aroused Brown,

Hinduism Sociology
https://www.paperrater.com/free_paper_grader#The Hindu Community
Hinduism is described as a major religious and cultural tradition of South Asia, developed from
Vedic religion. One of the oldest religions in the world, Hinduism is most diverse, originating from
multiple religions. The religion is polytheistic, meaning the people of Hinduism believe in millions
of gods who control different aspects of their life. Prior to visiting the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan
mandir, I had minimal information on Hindu s and their way of life, despite having countless
Hindu friends. Going in as an anthropologist, I objectively observed the customs and traditions they
followed in an attempt to learn more about their community.

I spent all day at the temple and talked to many people. I knew Diwali was a festival of lights but
I managed to learn a lot more about it while I was there from a multitude of people of all ages.
They told me Diwali celebrates the return of Rama and Sita, in the story from the Ramayana,
which are considered different gods to them. The story of Rama and Sita shows how good wins
over evil. The significance of the celebration is to call awareness to this goddess who symbolizes
prosperity. For Hindu s, light is a representation for prosperity while the dark signifies ignorance.
All of India celebrates this festival, however most call it by its Sanskrit name, Deepavali. Since
India is so large, they follow separate calendars, which causes the North and South to celebrate
the religious festival at different times of the year. Usually it is celebrated on a day called
Amavasya, which is a new moon. The sky is dark and therefore the lighting is more noticeable;
prosperity is shown more heavily. The northern part of India celebrates it as a holiday for the new
year while the South continues to keep it more traditional by having the festival on the day when
their god, Krishna, conquered the King who had imprisoned thousands of

and even Denver. Fort Morgan as a community deserves to also get to try out these new activities
that would benefit our community greatly in many aspects. The community of Fort Morgan would
benefit from the One City/One Book project because of the diversity in Fort Morgan, it will keep
people involved and encouraged to try something new, and it may open up people s mind. We
should have a one book one city project centered around Enriquez Journey as our first book

City Dump Film Analysis
City Dump is a film that explains the City College of New York scandal, where players were
curving the game spread and being paid for it. A majority of the interviews conducted in the film
were not those of whom were on the team and partook in the scandal, but rather journalists and
other players who weren t part of it. This is accepted a legitimate criticism of the film. In order to
portray the effect this incident had on the player, interviews with them would be appropriate. But, it
makes sense that the filmmakers did not interview them because it could ve potentially hurt the
case they made in 1951. Additionally, they didn t want to make a bad situation worse. Adolph Rupp

Letter To Chronicle Books
Dear Chronicle Books; Submissions Editor,
The law of attraction is a growing trend. Though many people read the books tailored towards
this law they fail to attract into their life what they desire. They have the knowledge to use this
law yet they don t practice it. Knowledge isn t a capacity of knowing but rather a capacity of
doing. One of Seven gives readers the practical tool to really use this law to their advantage to
finally manifest their goals. The main principles in this book are based on the similarities I noticed
in books including The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra and The Secret by
Rhonda Bryne, psychological studies I examined while I was in University, and various
documentaries including The Secret on Netflix. These sources have a very powerful and effective
message to empower people to transform their lives yet millions of people don t follow through.

A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun is a remarkable play written in 1959 by an African
American author about an African American family. This time period was in the early days of the
modern awakening of civil rights awareness. It was a timely play challenging the then current
stereotypical view of a black familyby depicting a realistic portrayal of a specific black family with
aspirations, hopes, dreams, dignity, and ambition as would be expected from all families regardless
of race. The play is also timeless because it presents relevant themes of preserving family unity
and breaking through racial stereotypes that still challenge current society. Robin Bernstein s
critical analysis Inventing a Fishbowl: White Supremacy and the Critical Reception of Lorraine
Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun , cites a reviewer from the Philadelphia Inquirer who asserts that
this play is both timely and timeless. We do not know if Miss Hansberry has written a timeless
play ... but she has certainly written a timely one. (Bernstein 23), furthermore Bernstein cites
George Murray noted in the Chicago American that the play couldn t be better timed for box office
success. Its advent coincide with a rising wave of general interest in the Negro. (Bernstein 23).
Bernstein also notes Before long, the votes swung overwhelmingly in the direction of dubbing A
Raisin in the Sun timeless, that is, a masterpiece. (Bernstein 24). This comment is supported by the

Genetic Modification Implications
Genetic Modification Implications Health of An Individual
Daisy the cow was born with a birth defect. She had no tail. The process of the genetic transfer is
most likely to be the cause of this. Stefan Wagner, a scientist on the team, said This congenital
abnormality is rare in cows and not something we have seen in animals we have cloned
previously, However, they are still in the process of confirming whether or not this defect is link
to the genetic transferring method. This deformity makes us question whether she has any other
health issues. If she was born without a tail, there is a chance she could have other deformities as
well. This is not good news as it any form of health problems could affect other parts of the cow.
Genetic Modification Implications Survival of a Population
As Daisy the cow was born with no tail, her offsprings could also have this problem. Not to
mention that there could be a possibility that future cloned cows will also have this defect. This
congenital abnormality can have a huge impact on the population because the purpose of cow tails

Dolly was cloned via somatic cell nuclear transfer in 1996 by Roslin Institute in Scotland. Cloning
from an adult cell is much more complicated than cloning from an embryonic cell but Dolly was a
successful one in 277 trials. 29 early embryos developed and were inserted to 13 surrogate
mothers, however, only one was successful and that was Dolly.
A mammary gland was used, as it had all the DNA needed to reproduce a whole individual. Dolly
had 3 mothers one provided the somatic cell, one provided the egg cell and one as the surrogate
mother. The nucleus of the somatic cell was inserted into an empty egg cell and then activated by
an electric shock. It was then put into the surrogate mother when it started to develop into a
blastocyst.

Essay about Business Internships
Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually
out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students
in today s world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or
business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main
purpose of the internshipis for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are
also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether
or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they

For that reason alone is a great reason as to why all business schools should build a strong
internship program.
An internship is no good if you do not make it work. Thus making the internship work for you is
very important. To start out the student must want to direct their full attention to the internship
because the internship is pretty much starting out their future. First impressions are usually suppose
to be good so a student should not go into an internship thinking that it is going to be easy and that
they can just blow through it. Internships should be beneficial for the students and the employer s.
The internship program coordinator should look for a few things when they are picking out the
companies in which they are going to send their students to learn and gain experience. First off the
firm in which you might be thinking about going into for an intern must have work for you to do.
Sitting behind a desk all day staring out the window will not teach you anything. It also helps out
when there are positive people surrounding the student intern. For an internship to work, the firm s
principals must be available to supervise and teach. (Berger 30) The student intern will usually
have lots of questions and if there are good people around the intern to answer his or her questions
and correct their mistakes then the internship will be quite beneficial.
There are legal concerns that come along with internships that the

The Tale Of Dracula, Or The Son Of The Dragon
Countless times the fictional story of the infamous Count Dracula has been told in treatises,
playwrights, novels, and also films. Dracula as a character has such an arduous lifestyle that it is
difficult to decipher between truth and myth. Although the narrative of Count Dracula is viewed as
only fiction, there is accuracy behind the legends. Vlad III s legacy sparked the lore of Count
Draculabecause of the scarring childhood he endured, the torturous agony he caused upon others,
and a gruesome war.
Vlad III was born in November 14, 1431 in Sighisoara, Transylvania to Vlad Dracul and Princess
Cneajna of Moldavia. He had an older brother, Mircea, and a younger brother, Radu. In 1431, Vlad
Dracul was inducted into the Order of the Dragon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, he directed his loathing to his father and older brother, Mircea, for their unfaithfulness
to the Order of the Dragon. Similarly, he was angry at Radu for leaving Christianity and converting
to the Islamic faith. The years Vlad III spent in captivity taught him many ways of torture and in
one way shaped him into the man he eventually came to be, Vlad the Impaler.
While Vlad Dracul was still on the Wallachian throne, John Hunyadithe Hungarian King,
demanded that Vlad Dracul shall promise to join the crusade against the Turks, but wanting to stay
neutral he sent Mircea instead. The Christian army was utterly destroyed in the Battle of Varna,
John Hunyadi managed to escape the battle under inglorious conditions. From this moment forward
John Hunyadi was bitterly hostile to Vlad Dracul and Mircea ( Vlad 4). In result to John Hunyadi s
animosity, in 1447, he raided Wallachiaand assassinated Vlad Dracul and Mircea with help of
boyars and merchants. Fearing the Hungarians would gain too much influence in Wallachia after
the death of Vlad Dracul, the Ottoman Turks forged ahead to Wallachia and put Vlad III on the

Lego Of The Lego Group
Background
The Lego group was established in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen in Billund, Denmark. Lego
today is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. However, that does not mean that they
haven t had to make some changes along the way to reach and stay at that position. Lego needed to
change because of increased expansion of their product line which lead Lego to the brink of going
bankrupt. In the year 2000, the Lego group had a huge sales growth. By 2004, they were projected
to lose somewhere around two billion dollars. This lead to talks about bankruptcy, breakup of the
company, or even the sale of the company. Regardless of the talks, it was quite obviously that

Kids were starting to lose interest in toys earlier than normal and became more interested in
electronic multimedia. The second change was that retailers who sold Lego products were
changing to become super stores like most are today. This lead to manufacturers needing to now
also compete for shelf space as well as customers. The third change in the toy industry was that
manufacturing was being outsourced to Asia. The cheaper labor costs in Asia lead to
companies pricing their products lower. This and the US dollars worth going down hurt the
Lego group because there were more cheaply available products in the market. The last change
in toy industry was basically an exact copy of the Lego bricks that were being sold cheaper than
Lego s. These new competitors were able to produce a cheaper product and bring new products to
the market faster that Lego could. This became more trouble when the court failed to give them
trademark protection on the bricks. Overall, these were the major occurring to the toy industry that
lead to a needed change by the Lego group.
Change Initiatives
As discussed in the background, the Lego company needed to make some changes to avoid
bankruptcy and the breakup of the company. To make these changes the Lego group hired Jorgen
Vig Knudstorp as their new CEO in 2004. These changes were broken down into three phases that
would eventually bring the company out of potential bankruptcy. The three

The Pros And Cons Of Same-Sex Marriage
On June 26th, 2015, the Supreme Court established, in Obergefell v. Hodges, that no law in the
United States could bar a same sex couple from getting married. The court decided that the
Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitutions Equal Protection and Due Process
Clauses guaranteed marriage as a right for same sex couples. The First Amendment protects the
freedom of religionin the United States and has been used widely to protect the actions and beliefs
of religious individuals in discriminating against LGBTQIA+ individuals. In the United States,
there are a plethora of religions some of whom reject same sex marriageas part of their sincerely
held religious beliefs. One such group is the Southern Baptist Convention, who after Obergefell v.
Hodges, reaffirmed their beliefs that same sex marriage violates their religious principles. In August
of 2015, the Windsor family, owners of a cake shop and members of the Southern Baptist
Convention church, denied a same sex couple a wedding cake due to their personal religious
beliefs. The couple brought a suit against the cake shop claiming that they were being discriminated
against because of their sexual orientation which could violate the Fourteenth Amendment s Equal
Protection Clause. In this essay, I will argue that the Windsors are not justified under the Religious
Freedom Restoration Actor the First Amendment in discriminating against the same sex couple and
that there is no form of democratic deliberation

Obamacare Pros And Cons
Obamacare has become one of the most controversial issues in the past four years. I think the
debate over Obamacare is a good one to have. This issue has caused many people, politicians, and
media outlets to finally sit down and, deal with something that has become a problem in our
healthcare system. Obamacare is also facing many obstacles, politicians want to repeal it,
people with low income need it, and the debate on its success is on going. Politicians,
republicans in particular have been unsupportive of Obamacare and democrats are also on the
fence with the Obamacare bill. It was passed in 2010 and created by Barrack Obama that allows
individuals the opportunity to obtain affordable health care. I think the idea of this bill means a
lot to America it is something that could be good for us, however republicans particularly those
elected on the promise of working to repeal Obamacare say it s important to get a bill to the
president s desk as a message to voters (Owens 1). This whole issue of repealing the bill I believe

Montessori Obedience Essay
The power to obey is the last phase in the development of the will, which in its turn has made
obedience possible. (Montessori, 1988, p.239)
Montessori believed that the disorderly and disobedient acts of a young child where from those
actions that he/she had yet to develop and so where unable to control successfully.
Discipline and obedience could not therefore be inflicted on a young child as had been traditionally
thought, nor could it be sustained through rewards and punishments. Obedience is seen as
something which develops in the child in much the same way as other aspects of his character.
(Montessori, 1988, p.234)

When he/she is finished with the activity, he/she returns the apparatus back to its allocated place,
keeping the order within the environment. All the materials contain a control of error, avoiding the
need for a teacher to highlight the child s mistake, allowing him/her the freedom to correct himself
/herself, with out the need for adult intervention. He/she is then left and allowed the freedom to
carry out his/her task, as many times as he/she wants, for as long as he/she wants without any
unnecessary interruptions.
With this constant cycle of activity begins a process and through the many repetitions of the
exercise the child gradually becomes aware, and conscious of his/her actions that his/her hands are
performing. Through this awareness, his/her actions can no longer be considered a product of an
inner desire, but have become actions performed with a consciousness and deliberation.
That which at first was but a vital impulse (horme) has become a deliberate act. The child s first
movements where instinctive. Now he acts consciously and voluntarily and with this comes the
awakening of the spirit. (Montessori, 1988, p.231)
From observations made by Maria Montessori we have come to the understanding that discipline
is a maturational process and can not be present in a child who has yet to develop his/her own will.

Filial Piety’s Role in Ancient China Essay
In the 18th century, China was influenced by various teachings of philosophers and beliefs that
the society had placed emphasis on. Filial piety (xiao) was a major practice around this period
when it was strongly carried inside and outside the household. Filial piety is not only the guiding
principle of Chinese ethics but it also played an affirmative role in determining the Chinese
lifestyle; it was practiced daily in the family and in other areas such as education, religion and
government. It was the central root of Chinese morals and the society was constructed upon the

parents is not enough, but that there are responsibilities beyond providing necessities. For
Confucius, a child giving respect to his parents while they are alive could be done by animals as
well, however to be a filial child one must show respect for their parent even after their death. Even
as far as the Han dynasty, in which Confucianism was recognized as a state orthodoxy , is also
regarded as administrator endorsement of filial piety, thoroughly constructing unfilial behaviour a
punishable crime and rewarding acts of filial piety (Chan, Alan Kam Leung; Tan, Sor hoon). Han
emperors took on xiao as part of their title and filial piety entered more and more regularly into the
dynastic histories and other historical works (Chan, Alan Kam Leung; Tan, Sor hoon). Filial piety
was practiced all the way through the dynasties and especially in this century where many
philosophers, including Confucius, focused on bringing this practice into society for better
development of the families and society. Similar to Confucius, Chu Hsi also emphasized filial piety
in his proclamations. Chu Hsi became a successful administrative and supporter of education as a

Nursing And Nursing Careers
Nursing Nursing has been an occupation that I have had my mind set on since I was in the
second grade. I have always loved the idea of helping people fight their medical battles and being
there for them, like someone once was for me. When I was born, I had to have a portion of my
left lung taken out. I was not expected to live while my mom was pregnant with me and my
sister. After I was born, I was rushed to surgery to remove part of my left lung. Because of the
doctors and nurses that had been there for me while I was fighting my battles, I had survived
and lead a healthy, normal life now. I want to do the same thing for someone else. I love the idea
of being the so called superhero of someone else s life. There are many shapes and sizes of the
jobs that registered nurses may do. They provide health care for patients, inform patients of their
health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
(summary). Registered nurses also help doctors during exams and surgeries and dress wounds and
incisions (RN Careers). Registered nurses cater to their patient s physical and emotional needs.
They comfort a patient and help them emotionally just as much as they help them physically.
Nurses often spend a lot of time with patients, resulting in lasting relationships (20 reasons). Very
seldomly do you find a career where relationships are built with your clients or patients. Nurses are
very fortunate to get to experience these

To buttress this, Matthew confirmed that the virgin was found to be with a child through the Holy
Spirit (Matt. 1:18). In fact there are several incidences that took place which cannot make the virgin
birth of Jesus untrue. Isaiah prophesized long time ago about this birth, Joseph planned to
secretly end the relationship with Mary but the Angel spoke to him not to, Herod tried to kill
baby Jesus because of how great He was going to be but he could not, some wise men (shepherds)
were told about this child, Simon was told not to taste death until he sees this child and all this
came to pass.
Secondly, the belief and practice of teaching how to speak in tongues and believing it is a
requirement for one to be saved is unbiblical. There is only one way by which people could be
saved and that is by believing in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Paul and Silas were incarcerated,
at midnight they sung melodious hymns and prayed while the prisoners were looking at them.
Suddenly there was a strong earthquake which shook the walls of the prison. Immediately, the
doors opened and their chains got broken. When the jailor saw that the prison doors had opened,
he drew his sword to kill himself thinking that the prisoners had fled in other to avert been
punished. Paul called him in a loud voice and told him not to kill himself as none of the prisoners

Why Is The Crusades Justified Dbq
The Crusades were Holy Wars during the 11th century that intended to expand Christian territory.
The Crusades began when Christians initiated military campaigns to take control of the Holy
Lands around the city of Jerusalem. Ever since the fall of the Roman Empire, Christianity had been
so strong that people were able to spread it through campaigning. Different people from the time
period of the Crusadeshave varying viewpoints on it, a few of which being that the Crusades
caused fear and destruction, the violence of the Crusades were justified because of religious
reasons, and that the Crusades were not only harmful to Muslims, but Jews and Christians.
The first viewpoint believed by many is that the Crusades caused fear and destruction. Documents
4 and 5 especially support this opinion. These sources both explain the demolition caused in
Southwest Asia by the Europeans during the Crusades. Document 4, the excerpt from The
Crusades Through the Arabs Eyes, describes the torture and murder of Arabs by Franks. One vivid
description in the source is, The Franks arrived at dawn. It was carnage. As Ibn ... Show more

Documents 3 and 7 support this opinion. Document 3 shows the harm Christians brought to Jews
during the Crusades. The writer of this chronicle describes how heavily the Jews prayed in fear of
the Christians attacks. A piece of information not mentioned in this document, but that is relevant
to the topic, is that attacks during the Crusades on Jews originally started from small groups of
peasants and were condemned by the Church, but soon the Jews started getting attacked by bigger
and bigger mobs. The author of Source 7, is outraged by the attacks on Christians from Crusaders,
and believes it is a violation of the Church. A quote describing these attacks is, the divine body and

The Scarlet Letter Essay On Puritan Society
Puritan Society
It is difficult to draw parallels between the staunch beliefs of Puritan society in colonial America
and the freedom experienced in the country today. The Puritans lived strict lives based on a literal
interpretation in the Bible, and constantly emphasized a fear of God and a fear of sin. Modern
society looks at this negative view of humanity as a whole as an out dated opinion from the past,
believing that, Now people know better than that. However, faults in human nature can not be
completely erased by the passing of time and the modernization of society. People still have
emotions of love, compassion, envy, and pride; and many types of interpersonal relationships within
their community. Puritan literature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main character in The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne, emerged from the gloom of this dark
society s punishment. For her crime of adultery, she faced the most commonly used punishment
#8212;public humiliation. Although this involved no physical harm, its use in such a proper
society brought ridicule and shame paralleling a punishment as harsh as death itself. Hester
stood amidst the crowd for three tortuous hours, struggling to withstand the burning glares of the
townspeople feeling, as if she must needs shriek out with the full power of her lungs, and cast
herself from the scaffold down upon the ground, or else go mad at once. (40). This display was
made even more severe because she was also sentenced to wear a mark of shame upon her
bosom, the letter A , for the rest of her life (43). The scarlet symbol for adultery branded Hester
as a sinner to others, and when she was alone it burned like fire into her innermost heart to remind
her of the life shattering punishment society sentenced her for a single sin. For some sins, Puritan
law demanded much more than an embroidered letter to transform a criminal into a living sermon
of sin. Some crimes, such as witchcraft in The Crucible, called for death itself to be the example
set for society. Punishment in Salem, Massachusetts was very rash; people were put in jail without
justifiable evidence due to the schemes of the inflicted girls. Even the most honorable people like

Dealing with immobile patients is a big part of a registered nurse s daily tasks. Mrs. Simmons a
78 year old patient who fell and broke her hip must be carefully monitored so that she does not
develop further health problems. It is important to monitor and act accordingly with immobile
patients, because failure to do so can result in health risks and complications. Not only do
immobile patients require a different level of care, their rehabilitation is also different based on the
reason as to why they are immobile. Besides keeping the patient safe and secure it is also important
to keep the attending nurse safe by using the proper lifting and moving techniques, as well as the ...

Using the proper lifting or movement technique is also another way to reduce strain on the
musculoskeletal system. The nurse can do this by shifting the center of gravity lower and
keeping a wide base of support that does not move easily. Additionally making sure that the bed
is in the optimal position for any type of movement is essential because it keeps the patient and
nurse safe. Mrs. Simmons was discharged by the physician with a partial cast which would
require supplemental teaching from the nurse. To keep her range of motion and other joints
mobile the nurse must come up with a exercise routine that the patient feels they can keep up
with, such as lifting soup cans. If given a cane or crutches the nurse must explain how to use them
properly, as well as the different ways that she could use them to walk. Finally the nurse can help
keep Mrs. Simmons mobile by educating her on the importance of keeping mobile so that her other
joints does not atrophy. There are many reasons why it is important to keep patients mobile, even
when they are in a position where extended activity is not feasible. Mrs. Simmons is at risk for
many health ailments because of her immobility, some of which include pressure ulcers, muscle
weakness, and Atelectasis. Her attending nurse must keep these in mind when talking to her about
repositioning and also use the proper movement techniques and assistive devices. Not only does the
nurse have to keep Mrs. Simmons from developing health

The American Colonial Life During The Late 1700 S
Whether by land or by sea, eighteenth century colonial travel was arduous, expensive, and many
times dangerous. Because of this, few people traveled very far from their homes. Transportation
has changed dramatically since the late 1700 s. It was during this time that Colonial America
was budding as a new country. This was before airplanes, which appeared in the very early stages
of the 1900 s. Cars showed up about the same time, so rewind about 200 plus years and we re
back in colonial America. It wasn t civilized like it is today. The dirt roads were bumpy, grimy,
and when the rains came, they were mud baths. So how did people during this time get around?
Often, they didn t. Not many people could afford the cost of travel back then. Daily American
Colonial Life was extremely harsh for the first settlers and colonists. They were faced with a
new country, unknown territory and no friends, relatives or neighbors to help them In those days,
it was fairly expensive to travel. Because of this, generally only government officials, merchants,
and planters took the risk (Constitution Facts). Women were supposed to stay home and look
after the children while the husband went off to do business. America was still a budding
country, so there were not as many cities as there are now and they were more spread out. If the
man wanted to travel, it would require several hours, or even several days to ride on horseback.
Often the husband wouldn t return for a couple of days, and when he

Abstract: The experimenters conducted a total of four mini labs. In each lab they had to find
measurements dealing with different instruments such as a ruler, caliper, stopwatch, and two spring
scales of different newtons. The objective in each experiment was to record and measure different
objects and to also give advantages and uncertainties when dealing with different instruments. The
experimenters found that each instrument comes with an uncertainty. When dealing with a ruler, the

10 N Spring Scale
Procedures: Step one: The experimenters used the vernier caliper to measure the height of a 100 g
mass(from the mass set).
Step two: They recorded the height on the table and included an uncertainty.
Step three: The experimenters repeated the process to measure the diameter of the 100 g mass.
Step four: The experimenters calibrated the 10 N spring scale, and confirmed the mass of 100 g
mass.
Step five: Then they recorded the mass and uncertainty onto the table.
Step six: After this, they used the equation, Density = Mass/Volume, to find the density of the 100
g mass and recorded it onto the table.

Most of the upper management staff is located on our downtown campus not on campuses
frequented by students. They are not exposed to the stressors that come with seeing students 5 days
a week, 7.5 hours a day. Students come in upset, not necessarily with you, but with their financial
situation or even a personal situation, and take it out on you. You have to always maintain a
professional demeanour when dealing with them to avoid any confrontations. It is easy for a
manager who sits in their office all day to make suggestions on how they think things can be done
better but those suggestions are usually void. Working in the college environment, if you do not see
the stresses, you cannot make suggestions on how to make a campus or department run more
smoothly.
BC does offer professional development days where we can attend workshops. Stress relief and
time management workshops are included. These do not alleviate the stressors we face on a
daily basis or allow us to be able to communicate our ideas for improvement to upper
management. BC should consider implementing a committee consisting of staff members from
each campus to allow them to discuss issues that arise and give suggestions on how to improve
those issues. One problem with working for BC is that most of the front line staff does not feel as
though they are appreciated. Upper management does not reward employees for a job well done.

Future Of Pharmacovigilance ( Pv ) Outsourcing India Essay
Future of Pharmacovigilance (PV) Outsourcing in India
Abstract
Over the past few decades, many high profile drug recalls, regulatory authority warnings and
negative media impact have caused monetary losses and tarnishing of the image of pharmaceutical
companies. Consequently, these companies have invested heavily on PV systems.
For a pharmaceutical company, setting up a PV system in house is not always cost effective and
finding qualified and trained resources is a huge challenge. Thus, these companies have relied on
PV outsourcing to markets such as India. This white paper provides an overview of the current PV
outsourcing market in India and a prediction into the future of PV outsourcing in India based on
current trends in the PV world.
Introduction
There has been an ever increasing pressure on pharmaceutical companies with respect to
proactive detection and management of safety signals or concerns related to the use of a
medicinal product and grave concerns regarding public health impact. This along with strict
regulatory requirements has sparked the exponential rise of the global PV market. Many high
profile drug withdrawals (e.g. Vioxx i.e. rofecoxib from Merck that was recalled in 2004) in the
past decade has led to various pharmaceuticals to adopt Good PV Practice guidelines in a more
stringent way. These factors are expected to drive the growth of the global PV market.
As per a market research report by Transparency Market Research1, the global PV market is
expected

Apple iPods Changed the Way we Listen to Music
iPods have positively influenced the way people all over the world listen to and share music in
the blink of an eye. Since Apple introduced the first iPod in 2001, 350 million iPods have been
sold as of September 2012. That s enough iPods for every single person in the United States to
have their own device with twenty million still left over. Those are some pretty staggering
numbers, considering more iPods are sold every second.
The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video
chip, and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the
inside of the device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head
actuators. Platters are little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a
spindle. The disks have a cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by
electroplating. Digital information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by
electromagnetic flux through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates,
the magnetic fields move and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving
magnetic fields.
The iPod has a small Liquid Crystal Display (more commonly known as an LCD). The molecules in
the liquid crystals in the screen go through multiple changes, one being the nematic phase. The
twisted nematic is manipulated when the electric current is applied to it.

Indeed, the Jesuits chose to make concessions with the Natives and to display cultural and religious

Anthony Wright, an English professor of Ecclesiastical History, explains how the Jesuits were at
the center of the Catholic Reformation, that is to say the Catholic movement that aimed at

Calvin s movement, Lutheran and Calvinist Protestants spread out in Europe2. Thus, the New

generally, emphasized on individual piety and devotion, there is no religious hierarchy and no
need for priests to study or read the Bible and to confess sins. To thwart these new practices, the
Jesuits developped the rituals and sacrament, the cult of the saint and of the Virgin Marr. They also
chose to focus on the religious orders and the authority of the Pope to deal with the abstract Bible

Speech On Owning A Kitten
Across the globe, cats are admired as loyal and entertaining house pets. While some pet owners
prefer fostering an adult cat, most feel it would be best to own a kitten, mainly since they are so
adorable. Yet simple steps must be followed, such as making your home secure, collecting supplies,
and keeping an eye on your kitten. No matter the breed, appearance, or size of your kitten, all
require care. Despite the large amount of money you will spend purchasing your kitten, your
currency will be well spent on a fun, new housepet. While it can be a challenge at times, make sure
you follow specific guidelines and you will succeed with your new pet.
Just like with a human baby, kitten proofing your house is an easy, quick process. Firstly, secure
any sharp objects, such as knives or forks, to prevent your pet from impaling itself. Since cats are
very curious, especially at a young age, ensure toilet bowls are closed; your kitten could fall in and
be unable to escape. Coп ver sharp corners of tables or chairs. Lastly, restrict other pets, such as

Record any abnormal actions; for example, if it occasionally scratches or bites at its fur, it may

simply nudge it when it does this to you. If their habit gets too severe, you could purchase a small
scratching post and teach your kitten to claw at it. Never harm your kitten if it does bite or scratch;
you could intimidate it or possibly injure it, making it difficult to bond. For example, when your cat
makes a mistake in learning a trick, encourage it to try again. As one of the steps essential to
maintaining a kitten, observation of behavior is

transport and steam powered road. I think Trevithick is a very interesting person because he
performed poorly in school, he never profited from his intelligence, and he had no business sense.
On the other hand, he became an important man in history and I admire that. My goal of this paper

He named the carriage Puffing Devil and on Christmas eve, he took part in a public
demonstration by carrying 6 passengers to Fore Street, and Camborne Hill from Camborne
Cross, to the village of Beacon. Trevithick s cousin and partner, Andrew Vivian, helped steer the
machine. It was widely recognized to be the first demonstration of transportation that was
powered by steam. Consequently, during tests Trevithick s locomotive had broken down 3 days
later after passing over a ditch in the road. In addition, due to water boiling off the engine it
overheated, and eventually burned, which destroyed it. Nevertheless, in 1802 Trevithick had a
patent for his high pressure steam engine, so he built a stationary engine to prove his opinions at
Coalbrookdale Company s works in Shropshire. His engine had groundbreaking boiler pressure
of 145 psi and it ran at forty piston strokes a minute. Later, Trevithick built yet another steam
powdered road vehicle in 1803 called the London Steam Carriage, it had attracted a lot of people,
but it was uncomfortable for the passengers. The London Steam Carriage was more expensive to
run than a horse carriage and eventually abandoned.Through the years he invented other engine
related machines. His projects never received financial support and as a result he ended up

Compare And Contrast Bud Light And Coor Light
There are many light beers out there in today s market that have their very own unique taste and
exquisite way to advertise their product. Within the light beer market the two well known beers
are Bud Light, and Coors Light. Bud Light advertising appeals more to being a very social and
party intended beer, Whereas Coors Lighttakes more of a traditional stance. Bud Lighton the other
hand advertise towards today society by giving us a summertime feeling with the cruise ship and
the group of people drinking while having a live band. Coors Light keeps a traditional look as
being winter time, with the Rocky Mountains, and bold letters that says, GIVE HEAT THE COLD
SHOULDER. I myself find I m more drawn into the Bud Light advertisement because of the season
it s representing, the color, and even the social event that s going on. Both Bud Light and Coors
Light make excellence light beers, but an appropriate choice depends on the beer drinker taste,
finances, and household accommodations. In the Bud Light advertisement the colors is the main
thing you notice. Its many different shades of blue with a hint of white which gives off a warm
feeling almost like summertime. Bud Light stays true to their colors whether it is in magazine to
even their web page. The colors remain blue like their cans and bottles. The text within it picture
are not very big but the name of the product which is Bud Light appears in five places throughout
the advertisement. The name is pretty much in all

The Legend Of Turnus By Aeneas Summary
Deadly Resurrection
As Aeneas stood over the corpse of Turnus, his conscience was split in two. Half of his mind
rejoiced with the death of such a malicious man who had caused so much strife. The other half
lurched at the sight of bloodshed. Aeneas sighed with confusion as he slowly walked away from
the scene. Unlike most of his countrymen, he would never become comfortable with taking life,
even if it were for a just cause. While engaged in such controversial thoughts, his guard relaxed and
his gaze flitted about inattentively. With his mind elsewhere, Aeneasfailed to notice the wind
picking up speed at an alarming pace. Sand was flying about all around him, compromising his
vision. Suddenly, through the howling of the wind, Aeneas heard the words I will be back .
Instantaneously, the storm abated. Aeneas whirled around; apprehensive about the sight he was
about to face... the body of Turnus was gone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He devised a plan. He gathered his men. They hastily constructed a fort. Aeneas and his men
remained there a fortnight. At the end of the two weeks, his captains began doubting whether
Turnus really had mysteriously disappeared. After all, the surviving adversaries had buried their
dead, so their leader could well have been accounted for among those. Of course, Aeneas refused to
entertain their doubts. This infuriated the captains. While Aeneas was bathing one night, they
gathered the men together and informed them of their suspicions. Only two of his followers
remained loyal to Aeneas, the rest conspired to mutiny. The mutineers seized Aeneas and his two
faithful followers and left them to die in the

Climate Control And The Greenhouse Effect
The way a greenhouse works is that sunlight shines in and warms up the plants, and some of that
radiation can t exit through the glass forcing the heat to stay in the greenhouse. The UV radiation
comes through the glass walls and warms the plants while weaker IR radiation has trouble getting
through the glass walls so it s trapped in the greenhouse; thus, warming it up (Lallanila, What Is the
Greenhouse Effect? ). Similarly, the Earth has incoming heat that is then trapped, warming up the
surface. It works the same way a greenhouse does hence the name the Greenhouse Effect
(Lallanila, What is the Greenhouse Effect? ). There are a few greenhouse gases that are
responsible for the Greenhouse Effect. Making up 1% of our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide, Ozone,
Methane, and Water Vapor, act as a blanket that surrounds Earth to help regulate climate control
(Rinkesh. Causes of the Greenhouse Effect Conserve Energy Future. ). The Greenhouse Effect isn
t bad. It actually helps us survive on Earth. Without it, the Earth would be 30 degrees Celsius
lesser which would be too cold (Rinkesh. Causes of the Greenhouse Effect Conserve Energy
Future. ). Some of the heat from the greenhouse gases goes into space, while some of it burns
along the atmosphere, and a small amount of it finds its way into the Earth s surface (Rinkesh.
Causes of the Greenhouse Effect Conserve Energy Future. ). Because of this the Earth s temperature
is raised (Rinkesh. Causes of the Greenhouse Effect

Advantages And Opportunities Of Portugal
Introduction
Portugal is a relatively balanced country and while holding some positive and negative points, I
believe that Portugal is an attractive location to invest. I feel that the topics discussed are what
highlights the advantages and opportunities to utilize in the country. I will go in depth about the
topics I feel that stand out within the country as a whole and what makes investment in the country
more appealing in the current economy and future.
Geography
Portugal shares the Iberian Peninsula with Spain with a total area of 92,090 square kilometers.

This gives Portugal a unique advantage from an international perspective and proves that it can be a
gateway for international business.
Cultural
Culture plays a large role within society and the business environment of Portugal when compared
to a country like the U.S. This is of important concern when considering doing business in Portugal
and the ability to conform to society. The Portuguese are conservative, traditional, and are people
who hold formality when dealing with one another, which is shown through the form of politeness.
Their culture respects hierarchy for example business and society are vertically structured.
Investing time in building relationships and trust with business colleagues is a very important part
of their business culture along with communication. They also have a more relaxed attitude towards
time and do not see deadlines as crucial as people from many other cultures do which could possible
contradicting for incoming businesses, clientele and etc. (Kwint). The differences in cultures are
always relevant when doing business in foreign countries. Considering Portugal is part of the EU
they have much more similarities with the surrounding countries which is definitely a benefit from
a cultural perspective even

Kopi Luwak Essay
What is kopi Luwak?
Kopi Luwak is popularly referred to as a specialty of Indonesia. The name Kopi Luwak originated
from the Indonesian. The Kopi means coffee and Luwak means civet, it is also known as civet
coffee.
Surprisingly, most of the people involved in the history of the coffee production, could not afford to
enjoy coffee in the past, until this unintended and incredible discovery came along.
During that time, Indonesia was a Dutch colony, and the nation s workers were in charge of the
coffee plantation. Also, the workers are restricted from harvesting coffee beans for their private
uses. Instead of accepting their fate on their favorite beverage, the workers discovered great
opportunities in the most challenging situations. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, the civetcoffee is being produced in other Asia South Eastern nations like Vietnam,
Philippines and Laos, because of the high demand for the beverage by customers in the west and
different regions. Due to the high price, many producers tend to manufacture fake coffee products
similar to Kopi Luwak, or cheap coffee products made from the blend of actual kopi Luwak with
low quality beans.
Under those circumstances, a lot of civet cats experience the terrible condition in the cages that
are dirty and empty. As a result of this, animals are doomed to eat beans and live in a small space
of 2 by 1.5 meters of cement floor instead of staying in the natural environment as the producers
advertise.
Also, the signs of animal unkindness have also been discovered during the production period,
when the wild animal s diet and life pattern are forced to change for commercial purposes of
humans, and the animals were not able to climb the cages because there is limited space to do that.
Because of this, kopi Luwak production and utilization must be strictly controlled by the local
governments and responsible organizations to prevent the extinction of wild civet cats.
What is the destiny of this unusual

`` Thought, By Louis H. Sullivan
In his essay, Thought, Louis H. Sullivan illustrates the importance of real thinking and creative
thinking. He asserts that words are not really necessary to use to express our thoughts. He presents
other wordless forms of communication to translate our thoughts into loud expressions. Music,
painting, images and other wordless forms are the solution the author suggest, as better forms of
communication. Real thinking is better done without words Sullivan argues. Words cut off the
inspiration of creative thinking, and disturbs the imagination when someone tries to translate their
thoughts into spoken language. According to the author, images are the best way to translate our
creative thoughts without the interruption of finding the perfect word to describe an idea. Sullivan
attempts to persuade his audience to avoid reading because it deprives them from real thinking:
asserting that it must be only done in the present. He discusses that writing is a slow process: many
thoughts dissipates as one struggles to put their thoughts into words. Another point that Sullivan
argues is that one should only think in the present, and focus in the present alone because the
present is the only thing that matters. Sullivan explains, You cannot think in the past, you can only
think of the past... you cannot think in the future, you can only think of the future ... One is dead
and the other is yet to be born. The author argues that it is not good idea to expand our imagination
onward and

Three Different Levels Of Policing In Ontario
When it comes to policing in Ontario constancy is key. Since we have three different levels of
police in Ontario, which are municipal services, provincial service and federal service, there
needs to be some sort of framework for policing standards. The Police Services Act and the
Adequacy and Effectiveness of PoliceServices Regulation are pieces of legislation are enactments
to serve this purpose.
The Police Services Act functions as the groundwork for the mandate and duties of police officers,
as well as civilian policing staff, the procedure and process for filling, listening and concluding
complaints against the police, and the provisions for special investigations into police wrongdoing.

The Roles And Responsibilities Of A Nurse
1.Discuss the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in the acute care setting.
I.Urgency of acute care varies depending on the situation but can range to anything from
emergency surgeries, to injuries, chronic illnesses, and also for the recovery of those procedures.
Majority of the patients in acute care settings are critically ill. Nursing responsibilities in acute
care settings are vital to patient s recovery due to the front line position nurses play as well as the
wide variety of tasks carried out. Assessments are made during every encounter the nurse has with
the patient along with monitoring the patient s progress. Nurses are responsible for recognizing
symptoms the patient may be experiencing due to illness or injury and whether they fall in the
spectrum of normal reactions. Vital signs are measured routinely and can be indicators of the
patient s current status. When vitals are questioned diagnostic tests can be arranged to further
assess possible comorbidities the patient may have. Care plans are made to plan interventions the
health care team can take to help patients through challenges they face, both physical and mental.
Nurses administer medications as well as first aid as needed. They are responsible for maintaining
special equipment patients may require including monitors and ventilators are well.

My Grandfather Is A Hero
When you finally realize that someone in your family is a hero to not just one person, but to
many, your view of the world changes a bit. Especially when that person is a grandparent. In
March of 2014, my grandfather, Raymond Weber, became a town hero in Hillsboro, ND. Early
that morning, I got up and said hello to my grandfather. He was just starting his day, and his day
was busy. As Police Chief of Hillsboro, he was required to clean out the town armory and make
sure all the squad cars were in working order (making sure the lights and sirens worked). He did
this early in the morning and then came back to pick me up so that I could shadow him as he
worked. We did miscellaneous jobs all day. My grandfather had me working on the jobs that he
didn t want to do at the office while he did the real work of paperwork and signing of other
important papers that I couldn t understand. The real surprise came later that night when we went
into the town to do the final round of the shift. My grandfather loaded me up in the squad car
and started it. We drove around town on his designated route before he was allowed to punch out
and go home for the night. After we finished, we stopped at the precinct so that he could make
sure that there was someone there for the next shift. We then proceeded to head back home. My
grandfather decided that it would be nice for us to go get something to eat, so we stopped at a
nearby convenience store. We went in and bought some pizza

Organic Essay Vs Organic Farming
The topic that I chose to focus on for my research paper is on the practices used in both
organically and conventionally grown foods. More specifically, I focus on the sustainability of the
two different methods and whether or not one is more sustainable than the other in terms of soil
health and crop output/production. The question that I asked in order to help develop my research
is Is organic farmingmore sustainable and healthy than conventional farming methods? My stance
on the matter is that organic farming methods are not only healthier than conventional methods but
they are also more sustainable for future farming. Before reading my research paper, my readers
will have to understand the different farming techniques and methods used in both conventional
and organic farming. They will also need to know the types of pesticides used during both
practices and whether or not these pesticides and chemicals are harmful to the human body. This
can be best explained by Paul Maders article Soil Fertility and Biodiversity in Organic Farming. In
this article he discusses the farming methods used in organic foods and conventional foods. This
article also discusses the nutritional difference between the two types of growing foods and effect
that both have on soil, crop yields and biodiversity within organic farms. This article helps the
reader to understand the process in which these two different methods produce food and the many
factors that go into the production of both.

Protagonists looking for Happiness in Death of a...
Often having happiness is finding the key to life. Happiness is the ability to make one s life full
of joy and success. In the Death of a Salesman , The Great Gatsby , and The Devil s Advocate ,
the protagonists in the movies seem to yearn for happiness and success in their lives. Although
success may be the ultimate goal to achieving happiness, it does not always lead us there. There
are many obstacles people have to overcome, and sometimes happiness is not enough for some
people. It is why I believe more people should enjoy life and live it to the fullest extent as possible.
Happiness allows people to live their lives and look at the good despite all their flaws and as they
are happy they look back at what it took for them to achieve... Show more content on

Yes, Gatsby experiences happiness to a certain extent, but when his life ends suddenly, I think he
is unhappy and does not have everything he wanted out of life. The American Dream meant
nothing if he was not with the love of his life. I like how Gatsby overcomes many obstacles to be
successful but he is not happy like a typical person should be. I think Gatsby seems to have
regretted having his fortune because of the obstacles he faced in being happy. The key to life in
my opinion is being happy. In the The Devil s Advocate , I think the protagonist Keanu yearns
for happiness. He is an attorney seeking a victory for a case which he knows is immorally wrong.
Although this may be wrong, the protagonist seems to seek happiness, and is destined to going in
the wrong path. He is choosing the path of evil to get what he wants, and in doing so he meets the
devil who is the antagonist and the person who wants to lead Keanu in the wrong direction. In my
opinion the aforementioned devil represents immorality, evil, money, power, success, getting what
you want no matter what and happiness among others. These are all qualities that people want and
in doing so it takes time and good fortune to make it happen. The devil intrigues many people,
where he wants to influence them in making this decision to be on his side and making all this
happen in an instant. It is the path Keanu

The significance of Muhammad Ali s response to the Vietnam war was impeccable, because he showed others what s it is like to take a stand against something that you don t believe in. Muhammad Ali did the impossible by fighting against the system. Ali was brave and took a challenge that others would not execute, regardless of the repercussions he would take on.They tried to black ball him but failed to do so because of his willing to get back up. Muhammad Ali was one of the few African American athletes who stood up for his community and who spoke against the Vietnam War. • 3. Essay on Abolitionists Abolitionists Strategies of Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and John Brown Abolitionist Movement was a reform movement during the 18th and 19th centuries. Often called the antislavery movement, it sought to end the enslavement of Africans and people of African descent in Europe, the Americas, and Africa itself. It also aimed to end the Atlantic slave trade carried out in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Many people participated in trying to end slavery. These people became known as the abolitionists. The three well known abolitionists are Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, and John Brown. She always expressed confidence that God would aid her efforts, and threatened to shoot any of her charges who thought to turn back. For example, Tubman had a very short rule, which implied death to anyone who talked of giving out and going back. She would give all to understand that times were very critical and therefore no foolishness would be indulged in on the road . Her subjects were greatly invigorated by Harriet s blunt and positive manner and threat of extreme measures. When William Still published The Underground Railroad in 1871, he included a letter from Thomas Garret, the Stationmaster of Wilmington Delaware. In this letter, Garret describes Tubman as Moses . He success was wonderful. Time and time again she made successful visits to Maryland on the Underground Railroad, and would be absent for weeks at a time, running daily risks while making preparations for herself and her passengers. Great fears were entertained for her safety, but she seemed wholly devoid of personal fear...she would not suffer one of her party to whimper once, about giving out and going back, however wearied they might be by the hard travel day and night. John Brown was an American abolitionist, born in Connecticut and raised in Ohio. Unlike Truth and Hubman s peaceful strategies, he felt passionately and violently that he must fight to end slavery. The success of the pro slavery forces, especially their lack of Lawrence, aroused Brown, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the oldest religions in the world, Hinduism is most diverse, originating from multiple religions. The religion is polytheistic, meaning the people of Hinduism believe in millions of gods who control different aspects of their life. Prior to visiting the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan mandir, I had minimal information on Hindu s and their way of life, despite having countless Hindu friends. I knew Diwali was a festival of lights but I managed to learn a lot more about it while I was there from a multitude of people of all ages. They told me Diwali celebrates the return of Rama and Sita, in the story from the Ramayana, which are considered different gods to them. The story of Rama and Sita shows how good wins over evil. The significance of the celebration is to call awareness to this goddess who symbolizes prosperity. For Hindu s, light is a representation for prosperity while the dark signifies ignorance. All of India celebrates this festival, however most call it by its Sanskrit name, Deepavali. Since India is so large, they follow separate calendars, which causes the North and South to celebrate the religious festival at different times of the year. Usually it is celebrated on a day called Amavasya, which is a new moon. The sky is dark and therefore the lighting is more noticeable; prosperity is shown more heavily. The northern part of India celebrates it as a holiday for the new year while the South continues to keep it more traditional by having the festival on the day when their god, Krishna, conquered the King who had imprisoned thousands of ... • 11. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun is a remarkable play written in 1959 by an African American author about an African American family. This time period was in the early days of the modern awakening of civil rights awareness. It was a timely play challenging the then current stereotypical view of a black familyby depicting a realistic portrayal of a specific black family with aspirations, hopes, dreams, dignity, and ambition as would be expected from all families regardless of race. The play is also timeless because it presents relevant themes of preserving family unity and breaking through racial stereotypes that still challenge current society. Robin Bernstein s critical analysis Inventing a Fishbowl: White Supremacy and the Critical Reception of Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun , cites a reviewer from the Philadelphia Inquirer who asserts that this play is both timely and timeless. We do not know if Miss Hansberry has written a timeless play ... but she has certainly written a timely one. First impressions are usually suppose to be good so a student should not go into an internship thinking that it is going to be easy and that they can just blow through it. Internships should be beneficial for the students and the employer s. The internship program coordinator should look for a few things when they are picking out the companies in which they are going to send their students to learn and gain experience. First off the firm in which you might be thinking about going into for an intern must have work for you to do. Sitting behind a desk all day staring out the window will not teach you anything. It also helps out when there are positive people surrounding the student intern. For an internship to work, the firm s principals must be available to supervise and teach. Dracula as a character has such an arduous lifestyle that it is difficult to decipher between truth and myth. Although the narrative of Count Dracula is viewed as only fiction, there is accuracy behind the legends. Vlad III s legacy sparked the lore of Count Draculabecause of the scarring childhood he endured, the torturous agony he caused upon others, and a gruesome war. Vlad III was born in November 14, 1431 in Sighisoara, Transylvania to Vlad Dracul and Princess Cneajna of Moldavia. He had an older brother, Mircea, and a younger brother, Radu. While Vlad Dracul was still on the Wallachian throne, John Hunyadithe Hungarian King, demanded that Vlad Dracul shall promise to join the crusade against the Turks, but wanting to stay neutral he sent Mircea instead. The Christian army was utterly destroyed in the Battle of Varna, John Hunyadi managed to escape the battle under inglorious conditions. From this moment forward John Hunyadi was bitterly hostile to Vlad Dracul and Mircea ( Vlad 4). In result to John Hunyadi s animosity, in 1447, he raided Wallachiaand assassinated Vlad Dracul and Mircea with help of boyars and merchants. Fearing the Hungarians would gain too much influence in Wallachia after the death of Vlad Dracul, the Ottoman Turks forged ahead to Wallachia and put Vlad III on the throne as a puppet so the Sultan could pull the strings. However, that does not mean that they haven t had to make some changes along the way to reach and stay at that position. Lego needed to change because of increased expansion of their product line which lead Lego to the brink of going bankrupt. In the year 2000, the Lego group had a huge sales growth. By 2004, they were projected to lose somewhere around two billion dollars. This lead to talks about bankruptcy, breakup of the company, or even the sale of the company. Kids were starting to lose interest in toys earlier than normal and became more interested in electronic multimedia. The second change was that retailers who sold Lego products were changing to become super stores like most are today. This lead to manufacturers needing to now also compete for shelf space as well as customers. The third change in the toy industry was that manufacturing was being outsourced to Asia. The cheaper labor costs in Asia lead to companies pricing their products lower. This and the US dollars worth going down hurt the Lego group because there were more cheaply available products in the market. The last change in toy industry was basically an exact copy of the Lego bricks that were being sold cheaper than Lego s. • 16. The Pros And Cons Of Same-Sex Marriage On June 26th, 2015, the Supreme Court established, in Obergefell v. Hodges, that no law in the United States could bar a same sex couple from getting married. The court decided that the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitutions Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses guaranteed marriage as a right for same sex couples. The First Amendment protects the freedom of religionin the United States and has been used widely to protect the actions and beliefs of religious individuals in discriminating against LGBTQIA+ individuals. In the United States, there are a plethora of religions some of whom reject same sex marriageas part of their sincerely held religious beliefs. One such group is the Southern Baptist Convention, who after Obergefell v. Hodges, reaffirmed their beliefs that same sex marriage violates their religious principles. In August of 2015, the Windsor family, owners of a cake shop and members of the Southern Baptist Convention church, denied a same sex couple a wedding cake due to their personal religious beliefs. The couple brought a suit against the cake shop claiming that they were being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation which could violate the Fourteenth Amendment s Equal Protection Clause. In this essay, I will argue that the Windsors are not justified under the Religious Freedom Restoration Actor the First Amendment in discriminating against the same sex couple and that there is no form of democratic deliberation ... Obamacare is also facing many obstacles, politicians want to repeal it, people with low income need it, and the debate on its success is on going. Politicians, republicans in particular have been unsupportive of Obamacare and democrats are also on the fence with the Obamacare bill. I think the idea of this bill means a lot to America it is something that could be good for us, however republicans particularly those elected on the promise of working to repeal Obamacare say it s important to get a bill to the president s desk as a message to voters (Owens 1). Discipline and obedience could not therefore be inflicted on a young child as had been traditionally thought, nor could it be sustained through rewards and punishments. The co parent agreement was never signed yet the couple moved forward with the in vitro fertilization. In May of 2010, Mr. Szafranski sent Ms. Dunston a text message effectively ending their relationship and then filed a pro se complaint in the Circuit Court of Cook County three months later seeking to permanently enjoin Ms. Dunston from using the pre embryos so he could preserve his right to not be forced into fathering a child against his will. Mr. Szafranski argued that a man and woman are in equal positions when it comes to cryopreserved embryos as they re not inside the woman s body. Therefore, Mr. Szafranski argued, the constitutional right not to be a parent means the consent of both the woman and the man is required for any sue of the pre embryos. In September ... Filial piety (xiao) was a major practice around this period when it was strongly carried inside and outside the household. Filial piety is not only the guiding principle of Chinese ethics but it also played an affirmative role in determining the Chinese lifestyle; it was practiced daily in the family and in other areas such as education, religion and government. If there is no feeling of reverence, wherein lies the difference? (Chan Watson, pp. 29) . The quotation by Confucius defines the practice of filial piety by contrasting humans with animals, and stating that by providing food or necessities to the parents is not enough, but that there are responsibilities beyond providing necessities. For Confucius, a child giving respect to his parents while they are alive could be done by animals as well, however to be a filial child one must show respect for their parent even after their death. Even as far as the Han dynasty, in which Confucianism was recognized as a state orthodoxy , is also regarded as administrator endorsement of filial piety, thoroughly constructing unfilial behaviour a punishable crime and rewarding acts of filial piety (Chan, Alan Kam Leung; Tan, Sor hoon). Han emperors took on xiao as part of their title and filial piety entered more and more regularly into the dynastic histories and other historical works (Chan, Alan Kam Leung; Tan, Sor hoon). Filial piety was practiced all the way through the dynasties and especially in this century where many philosophers, including Confucius, focused on bringing this practice into society for better development of the families and society. • 21. Nursing And Nursing Careers Nursing Nursing has been an occupation that I have had my mind set on since I was in the second grade. I have always loved the idea of helping people fight their medical battles and being there for them, like someone once was for me. When I was born, I had to have a portion of my left lung taken out. I was not expected to live while my mom was pregnant with me and my sister. After I was born, I was rushed to surgery to remove part of my left lung. Because of the doctors and nurses that had been there for me while I was fighting my battles, I had survived and lead a healthy, normal life now. I want to do the same thing for someone else. I love the idea of being the so called superhero of someone else s life. There are many shapes and sizes of the jobs that registered nurses may do. They provide health care for patients, inform patients of their health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members (summary). Registered nurses also help doctors during exams and surgeries and dress wounds and incisions (RN Careers). Registered nurses cater to their patient s physical and emotional needs. They comfort a patient and help them emotionally just as much as they help them physically. Nurses often spend a lot of time with patients, resulting in lasting relationships (20 reasons). The Scarlet Letter Essay On Puritan Society Puritan Society It is difficult to draw parallels between the staunch beliefs of Puritan society in colonial America and the freedom experienced in the country today. The Puritans lived strict lives based on a literal interpretation in the Bible, and constantly emphasized a fear of God and a fear of sin. Modern society looks at this negative view of humanity as a whole as an out dated opinion from the past, believing that, Now people know better than that. However, faults in human nature can not be completely erased by the passing of time and the modernization of society. The main character in The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne, emerged from the gloom of this dark society s punishment. For her crime of adultery, she faced the most commonly used punishment #8212;public humiliation. Although this involved no physical harm, its use in such a proper society brought ridicule and shame paralleling a punishment as harsh as death itself. Hester stood amidst the crowd for three tortuous hours, struggling to withstand the burning glares of the townspeople feeling, as if she must needs shriek out with the full power of her lungs, and cast herself from the scaffold down upon the ground, or else go mad at once. (40). This display was made even more severe because she was also sentenced to wear a mark of shame upon her bosom, the letter A , for the rest of her life (43). The scarlet symbol for adultery branded Hester as a sinner to others, and when she was alone it burned like fire into her innermost heart to remind her of the life shattering punishment society sentenced her for a single sin. For some sins, Puritan law demanded much more than an embroidered letter to transform a criminal into a living sermon of sin. Some crimes, such as witchcraft in The Crucible, called for death itself to be the example set for society. Punishment in Salem, Massachusetts was very rash; people were put in jail without justifiable evidence due to the schemes of the inflicted girls. Future Of Pharmacovigilance ( Pv ) Outsourcing India Essay Future of Pharmacovigilance (PV) Outsourcing in India Abstract Over the past few decades, many high profile drug recalls, regulatory authority warnings and negative media impact have caused monetary losses and tarnishing of the image of pharmaceutical companies. Consequently, these companies have invested heavily on PV systems. For a pharmaceutical company, setting up a PV system in house is not always cost effective and finding qualified and trained resources is a huge challenge. Thus, these companies have relied on PV outsourcing to markets such as India. This white paper provides an overview of the current PV outsourcing market in India and a prediction into the future of PV outsourcing in India based on current trends in the PV world. Introduction There has been an ever increasing pressure on pharmaceutical companies with respect to proactive detection and management of safety signals or concerns related to the use of a medicinal product and grave concerns regarding public health impact. This along with strict regulatory requirements has sparked the exponential rise of the global PV market. Many high profile drug withdrawals (e.g. Vioxx i.e. rofecoxib from Merck that was recalled in 2004) in the past decade has led to various pharmaceuticals to adopt Good PV Practice guidelines in a more stringent way. These factors are expected to drive the growth of the global PV market. As per a market research report by Transparency Market Research1, the global PV market is expected ... Since Apple introduced the first iPod in 2001, 350 million iPods have been sold as of September 2012. That s enough iPods for every single person in the United States to have their own device with twenty million still left over. Those are some pretty staggering numbers, considering more iPods are sold every second. The iPod has seven main parts: hard drive, battery, click wheel, display, microprocessor, video chip, and audio chip. Older models of the iPod (with the click wheel) have a hard drive. On the inside of the device, the hard drive is made up of platters, spindle motors, heads and head actuators. Platters are little disks that are covered with a magnetic surface and then placed on a spindle. The disks have a cobalt alloy substance applied to them which is placed on the platter by electroplating. Digital information is stored on the disks and information is written on the disks by electromagnetic flux through read write heads that change the polarization. As the platter rotates, the magnetic fields move and the read write head senses electrical change between the moving magnetic fields. The iPod has a small Liquid Crystal Display (more commonly known as an LCD). The molecules in the liquid crystals in the screen go through multiple changes, one being the nematic phase. Just like with a human baby, kitten proofing your house is an easy, quick process. Firstly, secure any sharp objects, such as knives or forks, to prevent your pet from impaling itself. Kittens have a tendency to teethe and scratch at whatever they can find, so simply nudge it when it does this to you. If their habit gets too severe, you could purchase a small scratching post and teach your kitten to claw at it. Never harm your kitten if it does bite or scratch; you could intimidate it or possibly injure it, making it difficult to bond. For my essay I chose Richard Trevithick, born on April 13, 1771 he was a British inventor from Cornwall, United Kingdom, and was also a mining engineer. Trevithick was a son of a mining captain, and he did not do very well in school. However, he became an early pioneer of the rail transport and steam powered road. I think Trevithick is a very interesting person because he performed poorly in school, he never profited from his intelligence, and he had no business sense. On the other hand, he became an important man in history and I admire that. My goal of this paper is to explain how he built the first high pressure steam engine, designed, and built the first... Consequently, during tests Trevithick s locomotive had broken down 3 days later after passing over a ditch in the road. In addition, due to water boiling off the engine it overheated, and eventually burned, which destroyed it. Nevertheless, in 1802 Trevithick had a patent for his high pressure steam engine, so he built a stationary engine to prove his opinions at Coalbrookdale Company s works in Shropshire. His engine had groundbreaking boiler pressure of 145 psi and it ran at forty piston strokes a minute. Later, Trevithick built yet another steam powdered road vehicle in 1803 called the London Steam Carriage, it had attracted a lot of people, but it was uncomfortable for the passengers. The London Steam Carriage was more expensive to run than a horse carriage and eventually abandoned.Through the years he invented other engine related machines. • 44. Climate Control And The Greenhouse Effect The way a greenhouse works is that sunlight shines in and warms up the plants, and some of that radiation can t exit through the glass forcing the heat to stay in the greenhouse. The UV radiation comes through the glass walls and warms the plants while weaker IR radiation has trouble getting through the glass walls so it s trapped in the greenhouse; thus, warming it up (Lallanila, What Is the Greenhouse Effect? ). Similarly, the Earth has incoming heat that is then trapped, warming up the surface. It works the same way a greenhouse does hence the name the Greenhouse Effect (Lallanila, What is the Greenhouse Effect? ). There are a few greenhouse gases that are responsible for the Greenhouse Effect. Making up 1% of our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide, Ozone, Methane, and Water Vapor, act as a blanket that surrounds Earth to help regulate climate control (Rinkesh. He asserts that words are not really necessary to use to express our thoughts. He presents other wordless forms of communication to translate our thoughts into loud expressions. Music, painting, images and other wordless forms are the solution the author suggest, as better forms of communication. Real thinking is better done without words Sullivan argues. Words cut off the inspiration of creative thinking, and disturbs the imagination when someone tries to translate their thoughts into spoken language. According to the author, images are the best way to translate our creative thoughts without the interruption of finding the perfect word to describe an idea. Sullivan attempts to persuade his audience to avoid reading because it deprives them from real thinking: asserting that it must be only done in the present. He discusses that writing is a slow process: many thoughts dissipates as one struggles to put their thoughts into words. Another point that Sullivan argues is that one should only think in the present, and focus in the present alone because the present is the only thing that matters. Sullivan explains, You cannot think in the past, you can only think of the past... you cannot think in the future, you can only think of the future ... One is dead and the other is yet to be born. My grandfather had me working on the jobs that he didn t want to do at the office while he did the real work of paperwork and signing of other important papers that I couldn t understand.
