Mary Wilson s Singing Career
In a world full of other different singers, what makes a singer important when there are other
singers around the world? Mary Wilson was a singer that had touched and changed the lives of
many. Mary Wilson was part of a singing group known as the Supremes, previously known as the
Primettes in their younger days. Her original group was Florence Ballard, Diana Ross, and Mary
Wilson. She was known as Mary Wilson of the Original Supremes and her motto was Dreams do
come true . Mary Wilson was born on March 6th, 1944 and has loved to sing. Her career had
started during elementary schoolwhen they had performed for the school s talent showcase. There
she met Florence Ballard. They both promised to remember each other if they joined a singing
group. Florence Ballard was asked if she had wanted to become a part of a singing group and she
had followed through with her promise, inviting Mary Wilson with her. So what exactly did Mary
Wilson do in her singing career? She hit her pinnacle of her singing during 1964 1969,... Show more

Well, she had loved it ever since the start. She had performed for her elementary school and had
made a promise that would lead her to her invitation into the Primettes which led to the
development of the Supremes. Mary Wilson was dedicated to singing and she loved it with her
life. Eventually, in January 1970, the Supremes were down to one last original member, Mary
Wilson. However, Mary Wilson continued to do what she loved and had introduced two other
people making them known as the New Supremes . Her previous group was replaced with Cindy
Birdsong and Jean Terrell. This was the start of her new nickname: Mary Wilson of the Original
Supremes . No matter what she had stayed with what she loved the most and that was her singing.
She had stayed dedicated to her group even when everyone else had left her. They had ended up

The Failure Of Adolf Hitler
Most people have had many different checkereds throughout their life, some may have more
successes and or failures than others but either way, not many people have had such a great
amount of success as well as failures as Adolf Hitler. Throughout the course of his life he
accomplished many things and got away with many of them that some would never think one
could, as well as failures that can get so gruesome that thousands and or millions of people get
killed. Over the course of his leadership Hitler had a very significant leadership over Germany, he
used his leadership for world superiority and to take over Germany over the time of his ruling
/power he had over Germany. Overall Adolf Hitlerwas a bad man and did many terrible things over
the many years that he was in power. Background history
Background history about that leads up to his leadership. Hitler grew up in a house of 7 siblings
that all died at a young age including his parents by the time he was 19 he had lost both of his
parents, he had a overall normal childhood other than his dad which disciplined him very much
which overall damaged him to becoming a well, good hearted child. Growing up hitler wanted to
become a artist for a living. When he became old enough Hitler produced his dream and took an
exam to the Vienna Academy of Arts. This was a Jewish academy and because he got declined, he
started to hate jews. After he got declined he felt he had nothing going for him, he then became

The Rescue Of 669 Children
Sir Nicholas George Winton was a British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 children,
most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia before the World War II in an operation later known as
the Czech Kindertransport (German for children transportation ). Winton found homes for the
children and arranged for their safe passage to Britain.
Sir Winton was born in Hampstead, London on May 19, 1909, and was one of three children of
Rudolph and Barbara Wertheim. Winton s parents were originally German Jews but converted to
Christianity. They moved to London two years before Nicholas was born and changed their
family name to Winton. The family was rich, the father was a merchant banker. Nicholas, his
brother Bobby and sister Charlotte grew up in a big mansion in West Hampstead, London. The
brothers were very good fencers Nicholas was selected for the National British fencing team in
1938. He had hoped to compete in the next Olympics, but the games were canceled because of the
war.
Nicholas entered Stowe School in Buckingham and studied international banking. He worked in
several banks in Europe: Behren s Bank in Hamburg, Wassermann s Bank in Berlin, and Banque
Nationale de Credit in Paris. In 1931 he returned to London and became a stockbroker. Nicholas
was a Royal Air Force Officer during the war. Later he worked for the Abbeyfield Society which
was a charitable organization that assisted the elderly, and for different refugee organizations.

Essay The Laramie Project Critique
The Laramie Project Critique *No Works Cited The Laramie project captured the audience s
attention by utilizing different design methods on stage. This included sound, stage and hand
properties, light, and music. With an ensemble of 10 actors playing over 30 roles, this proved to be
an amazing play to experience. The playwright was constructed in a clear manner, which eliminated
the confusion of who is who. Through the usage of the stage elements as well as the dynamics of
each character, this brought about an effective plot. The first element that made the play dramatic
was the sound effects. The sound of the Wyoming wind was constant throughout the whole play, but
as emotional scenes and climaxes occurred, the sound of wind... Show more content on

The set was designed in a way that was very versatile and yet, still convey a serious message. By
versatile, I am implying that the open stage with two ramps crossing each other in the
background was plain and simple but served a purpose of several scenes such as a bar, church,
and even a funeral. A set prop that were a key pieces in the play were the wooden benches, these
made it possible for the actors to switch scenes. Some examples on the usage of the benches were
when they stacked two benches one on top of another and turned it into a bar, they turned the
bench in a vertical position and created a podiums to express different religions, or setting the
benches in a close and aligned design to create a church. Other props that influenced the scenes
were snow, umbrellas, then using the umbrellas as angel wings, and of course lighting. Instead of
building entire sets, or making the audience use their imagination with no props included in the
play, the set designers and directors created visuals that were ordinary objects and interacted the
audience to use their imagination and build the appropriate set for the scene in their minds. I
believe by keeping a low budget, the designers of The Laramie Project accomplished a bigger
impact on the audience with a simple low budget set rather than an expensive big fancy set. Props
and sound effects were not the only major influences for this greatly constructed play, but also the

Millard Fuller Research Paper
One thing that people can say is that everyone desires to have a place to sleep, eat and live.
Many people like the idea of having a place they can call home. One organization, Habitat for
Humanities, has made ownership a possibility for anyone who desires to have it. For years
people have been searching for a less expensive way to begin their journey out of their
predicament of not having their own place to lay their head. Nothing can ever come without
hard work though; to become a candidate for owning a home, people have to go through
numerous classes and engage sweat equity . This organization has changed the lives of over a
million families in over 1,400 bases internationally. Where this great organization came from is
the real question. The answer, an idea; before the idea came a feeling or motion that one person
felt they should act on. Millard Fuller, the man who felt there were too many homeless people in

the budget sector and especially for Ryanair. 2. An integrated understanding of the functioning of a

For example any planning undertaken by Ryanair for new routes or planes would follow the
prescriptive model as the objective would have been defined beforehand and elements such as
finance will have had to have been agreed before any purchasing goes ahead. On the other hand
emergent strategies may be in place for things like training and development where elements can
be discovered along the way for example if an issue arose where staff needed more health and
safety training then the training programme could be redirected. Ryanair, as already stated, follows
neither strategic approach religiously and possesses a strategy unique to their organisation, which
has identified their needs and objectives. However their approach to strategic management isn t
unique in itself as the majority of organisations will tailor strategies to suit their business own
individuality.

What Does The Green Light Symbolize In Chapter 1
In the novel The Great Gatsby, there is a lot of symbolism. There are huge, obvious and also
small, hard to see symbolic messages. One of the small and hard to see symbolic messages is the
green light at the end of Daisy s dock. Depending on the things going on in the book, depends on
the symbolism in my eyes. I believe that the greenlight in chapter 1 means that there is hope, when
mentioned in chapter 5 it means fascination, and in chapter 9, I believe that the green light
symbolizes sadness.
In chapter 1 Nick meets Gatsby and they are talking. Gatsby notices the green light and reaches
for it. Gatsby reaches for this green light because he is in love with Tom s wife, Daisy. He used
to be in love with her a long time ago when he was in the military. They could not stay together
because he wasn t rich and couldn t afford a wedding. Some say that Gatsby was in love with
Daisy s mansion and not Daisy. I believe that at this point the green light symbolizes hope. This
symbolizes the hope that one day he and Daisy will be together again and the hope that she is still
in love with him because he is still in love with her. I also believe that this light is a signal for help.

When it is mentioned again Gatsby is talking to Daisy. Gatsby at this point is having dinner with
Daisy and is talking about the green light. If it wasn t for the mist we could see your home
across the bay, said Gatsby. You always have a green light that burns all night at the end of your
dock. Daisy put her arm through his abruptly but he seemed absorbed in what he had just said.
Possibly it had occurred to him that the colossal significance of that light had now vanished. I
believe that this is the symbolism for fascination. I believe that it is fascinating to Gatsby. I also
believe that that this is why the light vanishes . The light vanishes because she is now with Gatsby
so she feels safe without

The Impact Of Globalization On The Auto Parts Industry
Introduction: In the contemporary China s economy, it is no doubt that Auto parts Industry has
become one of the fastest growing industries which plays a major role in the development of the
domestic manufacture as well as the GDP Growth.
PESTEL:
To evaluate all the internal and external factors that directly or indirectly impact the Auto parts
industry, the PESTEL model has been used as the analysis for this major industry. PESTEL stands
for the five most important forces that comprehensively analyse and monitor the manufacturing:
Political forces, Economical forces, Socio cultural forces, Technological forces, Environmental
forces and lastly Legal forces. All of these forces decide how well the industry can perform in not
only the current period but also in the near future. In the few recent years, China has replaced United
State to become the world largest economy. This Economic situation has opened an enormous
number of opportunities for most industries to expand their operation from domestic market to
international market. Shanghai, which is the China s largest commercial and industrial city, focuses
on 6 major industries which are information technology, automobile, large scale electromechanical
equipment, petrochemicals, heavy manufacturing and biopharmaceutical products (http:/

Present Wireless Scenario Consists Of Homogeneous Network...
Present wireless scenario consists of homogeneous network and heterogeneous networks. In
homogeneous network each base station has similar transmit power level, antenna pattern,
receiver noise floor and similar backhaul connectivity. But this type of network has disadvantage
of coverage hole. In heterogeneous network the macro BSs is collocated with micro, pico and
femto cells. This arrangement increases overall spectral efficiency per unit area (capacity) of
the network. Whereas small cell like micro, pico, femto and relays are used to avoid coverage
hole and to provide mobility to the users. Not only this relays can be used to provide backhaul
connectivity, where wire line link is not possible or are expensive to deploy. As determined by
the information theoretic capacity limits, current cellular systems have evolved to a point where a
system with one BS achieves near optimal performance. Researchers are now moving towards
more advanced heterogeneous network topology which will bring the network more closely to the
mobile user leading to further capacity gains [46 49]. HetNets will significantly improve the
spectral efficiency per unit area by utilizing a diverse set of BSs. 1.4Elements of Heterogeneous
Network Heterogeneous deployment need to use innovative cell association and inter celling
interference coordination techniques in order to realize the promised capacity and coverage gains.
A typical heterogeneous wireless technology as shown in figure 1.4 has the

Cultural Identity Among Sudanese Youth
Who are we? A study on cultural identity among Sudanese youth. Background Who am I or who
are we? are both questions that require in depth knowledge of identity. A complex sociological
and psychological phenomenon, identity has been classified into many types. Self identity is
defined as an individual s awareness and expression of their distinctive characteristics. Weinreich
(1986) highlighted that it is influenced by both the individual s past experiences and future
aspirations and contributes to the formation of one s self esteem, and individuality. It also
indicates the individual s capacity for self reflection (Leary Tangney 2003). Cultural identity is the
shared identity by all members of a social group and describes the expression of that group s
affiliations (Weinreich Saunderson 2003). It helps them gain a sence of belonging and creates
strong bonds of association. This sence of cultural identity can be through similarities in nationality,
locality, ethnicity, social class, religion, generation or any form of distinct social group
characteristics. However, there may be differences between members with these shared cultures.
Ancestry, skin tone, spoken language, and political attitudes can all distinguish between individuals
within social groups (Holliday, 2010). This can lead to discrimination, tribalism and racism as
society members evaluate those who are in the group from those who are out of the group (Cote
Levine 2002). Sudan has a population

Choosing To Cover Your Deck
Choosing to cover your deck with a stain is a wonderful way to keep it protected from the
elements. Some people choose to paint the wood of their deck, but this practice obscures the
natural beauty of the wood. The stain enhances the look of the texture and grain of the wood.
The beauty of your deck should be visible, and this is possible with a good stain. Not only will
stain look good, it will help to protect your deck and keep it from getting damaged by water and
the sun.
Plenty to Choose From
There are many different types of wood stain out there. You can find just about any color that you
would like that will match your deck. If you would prefer a lot of color, you can go with one of
the darker stains. If you want to be able to see the wood grains better, you should go with a semi
transparent option. Always test a small portion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you pick a day where it is cold, the stain might not set as well and will have trouble drying.
Make sure that there is no rain in the forecast for a couple of days as if it rains, your deck stain
will be ruined, and you will have to do it again. You do not want to deal with any water droplets
in your stain. Once you have picked a day, you will want to make sure that you have foam
brushes. Foam brushes make staining a breeze and you will not have to deal with any unsightly
brush strokes. You will want to start at the end of your deck and work your way out. Remember
to use smooth strokes with your brush and remove any drops. The goal is to make the stain look
as smooth as possible. Remember to put the stain on thin so that you can see the wood grains
but thick enough to protect the wood. You may want to wear a mask or respirator if the smell of
the stain bothers you. You will need to block the entrance way to your deck so that no one or
animals will get on your deck. After staining, it is best that no one gets on the deck for at least 24

Medical Care Fraud And Abuse
For the most part, physicians make every effort to work ethically, deliver high quality medical care
to their patients and send relevant claims for disbursement. The general public put their trust in
physicians to do the moral thing. The patients depend on physicians to use their expertise to put
them on the road to recovery when their health is most vulnerable. The federal government and
other third party payers also rely on physicians medical decisions to treat and provide services that
appropriate for the services that rendered. When the physicians and other medical related facilities
submit claims the government expects them to submit physicians and hospitals reimbursing claims
for services provided to program recipients, the federal government relies on physicians to submit
correct and legitimate claims. The medical providers that are deceitful and exploit the health care
system for unlawful purposes have formed the need for laws that combat fraud, abuse and guarantee
high quality medical care.

Censorship In The Social Media Age
Censorship that has been in the world and in the United States, since the fifteenth century, has
grown sufficiently. Since many years have past subsequently film, radio, and different platforms of
social media have all been censored because more and more technology is not appropriate for kids.
Although many people think that censorshiphas changed the media platforms, it s actually the other
way around. Media platforms have changed censorship throughout the years by switching up social
media, news, government, and privacy concepts.
Social media has shaped censorship over the years by introducing new applications to our
phones and computers. One event that has shaped it was in 2016, when Dan Ilic s video was
taken down from a social media site a few second after Mr. Ilic posted it, the video had already
been on that same social media site in 2011 and was not taken down till then. Gourarie wrote this
article called Censorship in the Social Media Age which explains the events of Dan Ilic s video.
The video titled Is Labiaplasty the new fad? ... soon after clicking post the author received a
notice from the social media site that the video was removed and he was banned from logging in
for 24 hours. (Gourarie). This quote from Gourarie supports the claim by stating that the video was
put up, however, then taken down due to censoring people from the title.
Another time the internet web browsers have shaped the way the people see censorship is when the

Article Report On The Law And Safety Codes Essay
Article Summary
I selected the article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas for review, as it applies to the state
in which I reside. The article cites Texas Health and Safety Codes, based on a 1999 Texas
Supreme Court ruling that states counselors do not have a duty to warn or protect. Having a duty
to warn and protect is defined as protecting clients or others from perceived harm (Jackson Cherry
Erford, 2014). An example would be that a client tells their counselor in a confidential session that
he is considering stabbing his ex girlfriend. The duty to warn would mean the counselor should
notify authorities and the ex girlfriend thus breaking confidentiality. The duty to protect would be
to admit client to a facility for the client to be assessed for a propensity for violence towards the
ex girlfriend. This became important after a 1969 incident where a counselor, had a client
expressed harm towards a girl and the counselor contacted the authorities, yet never contacted the
girl, who was subsequently killed by the client a few months later, known as the Tarasoff v.
Regents of the University of California case (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014).
The article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texascites the 1999 Texas Supreme court decision in
the case Thapar v. Zezulka; which stated that counselors do not have a duty to warn and protect
because it breaks client/counselor confidentiality (Barbee, Combs, Ekleberry, Villalobos, 2007). As
a result of the 1999 ruling the

The Piano Lesson by August Wilson Essay
The Piano Lesson by August Wilson: The Wisdom of the Ivories Can a treasured object of the
past serve as a teacher for the future? Once people share the historical significance of it, an object
can symbolize the overcoming of hardships of those lives in which it becomes a part. Therefore, it
may indeed instruct future generations to glean wisdom from the past. August Wilsons play The
Piano Lessoncenters on the trials and triumphs of a family affected by the enslaving of their
ancestors and by current racial prejudice. An embellished piano, which bears the carved images of
their enslaved ancestors accounts for the conflict that the Charles face. The Charles siblings inherit
the piano from their mother, widowed upon the murder of her... Show more content on

Boy Willie states, Papa Boy Charles brought that piano into the house. Now I m supposed to
build on what they left me. You can t do nothing with that piano siting up here in the house
(Wilson 51). If he sells the piano, Boy Willie will be able to build a life for himself. Berniece
says, Money can t buy what that piano cost. You can t sell your soul for money (Wilson 50). She
believes if they sell the piano, she risks losing part of her identity. With tender sentiment, Berniece
relishes the determination of her ancestors to appreciate life and the love they had for one another
in the face of slavery. Boy Willie says, See, you just looking at the sentimental value...You can sit
up here and look at that piano for the next hundred years and it s just gonna be a piano (Wilson
51). Berniece s pertinacious refusal to part with the piano emanates from her sentimental
devotion to it and the memory of her ancestors. Therefore, Berniece characterizes herself through
the piano as it brings the beauty of the past generations to their lives (Wilson 50, 52). Boy Willie
defines himself as an African American who declares his equality as a man and seeks to enhance
his self worth by becoming a land owner (Wilson 51, 94). Therefore, he values the piano for its
potential to raise his personal quality of life through a financial gain. The significance of the piano
resides in the differing viewpoints of each sibling.

Environmentalism In Pope Francis
Pope Francis describes a relentless exploitation and destruction towards environmental discomfort,
for which he blamed apathy from the pursuit of profitable faith in political as well as technological
injustice. The Laudato Si unambiguously accepts scientific causes that impacts the climate that
were beneficially man made, stating climate change is a global problem with grave implications:
environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods . Representing one of
the principals that challenges humanity. After great anticipation, Pope Francis determined and
faced the difficulties of climate change and pleaded for justice, to enter into dialogue with all
people about our common home. The Pope reaches for new conclusions and is calling for a
spiritual transformation and a solid connection to Earth s ecosystems. The Laudato Si is different,
as it is not addressed specifically to the one beliefs with additional groups added. Pope Francis
invites the people of the world to a dialogue on the subject of environmentalism. Pope Francis has
written Laudato Si as caring for creation is something that is close to his heart. More fundamentally,
Pope Francis believes that there are substantial ecological complications today that must be
addressed. They include not only problems in the natural environmentbut also in the humansphere,
particularly among the disadvantaged. Pope Francis wrote the encyclical, dated 24 May 2015 and
was officially published at on 18

Shakespeare Henry Iv Part 1

portrays the fictional character Hal as a loose, dangerous youth and a cold, calculating adult.
However in comparison to Hal s real life historical counterpart King Henry V, Shakespeare
describes Hal in a harsher manner. Is it possible that Shakespeare is attempting to divulge an
opinion that he has about King Henry V s kinghood through details and characteristics he shares
about his fictional character Hal in his plays? Based on several of Shakespeare s plays, namely
those that include Hal as a character, it is clear that Shakespeare believes in the divine right to

He played with them, relaxed with them, and became young again by their acquaintance. Perhaps
most importantly though, he told them stories. On July 4, 1862, he told them the story that
inspired a classic, the story of Alice s Adventures Under Ground. This was a story he had been
working on in one way or another for nearly twenty years, but required little Alice s intervention
to write. While many events in the first manifestation of the story inspired by the Liddells remain
in the work we read today, months of planning and research moved the book away from parochial
allusions and mere child s play toward more advanced and reasoned ingenuity (Hudson 266). The
story expanded from a recanting of friendly outings to a tale of deep symbolism, psychology, and
generational satire.
Each character in Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and its companion piece Through the
Looking Glass and What Alice Found There symbolizes something beyond a deck of cards, a
storybook character, or a figure of popular rhymes. We will begin with Alice herself. Alice is
something more than Carroll s hero. She is the free and independent mind (Empson 262). Alice
symbolizes Carroll s view of women. She was the queen to a man who had from early youth . . .

Wifi in Corporate Environments
Robby Miller
Mr. Carroll
NT1210 / Fri. Night
Wi Fi in the Corporate Environment Business is much different today than it has ever been. The
strategies incorporated in the success of a business can be quite complicated and requires more
than just a man or woman with a dream. Success in business is now reliant on the connectivity of
their business to their local area, as well as, the global market place. Wireless connectivity (Wi Fi)
in the corporate environment is making this possible and beyond possible as it improves. In this
paper we will see some pro s and con s of wireless connectivity in the corporate environment.
Corporations are looking to go wireless for many different reasons. These range from having less

This is a red flag and a green flag at the same time. If AT amp;T is charging for data and making
money, then the trend of provider s charging for data could take off and cause inflation of
wireless connectivity. The upside could be that user s jump ship and begin using other providers
instead of one or two major providers. AT amp;T charging for data is scary too, since it could
flag that they are reaching the limits of their bandwidth capabilities. It could be safe to say, AT
amp;T has just figured out a way to make more money without introducing new and innovative
technology. In conclusion, the use of wireless technology in the corporate environment is taking
off. It seems from the research I have done that companies are excited about the progress being
made in wireless connectivity. Wi Fi is the future for businesses. As more and more companies
have traveling employees and work at home employees the demand will grow for wireless
connectivity. Productive mobility is where the corporate environment has come and will continue
to go.

Essay on Kate Chopin
Kate Chopin
The Story of an Hour
The story The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, written in 1894, is about a woman gaining
independence and experiencing a new freedom, due to the death of her husband. The topic of the
story was rather scandalous at the end of the 19th century. Women had no control over their
property and weren t allowed to request a divorce.
Luise Mallard is a young wife (p.78, 3rd paragraph). She immediately feels grief and starts to cry
when Richards gives her the news about the death of her husband. But directly after her outburst,
the reader can already make out signs about how her feelings will change. In the story are several
symbols, showing the approaching of a new life. Through the open window Mrs. ... Show more

That doesn t mean that she didn t lover her husband, she loved him sometimes (p. 78, last
paragraph). And she knows that she has to cry again when she ll see him dead at his funeral. But
this grief won t hold her back to enjoy the new life that lies ahead of her. She looks forward to the
coming years (p. 78, 6th paragraph, end), she even hopes that she will have a long life, so that she
can fully enjoy her freedom (p. 79, 3rd paragraph, end).
But Mrs. Mallard will never lead such al life because her husband is not dead. When he comes
through the door, directly after she realized what a life without her husband means to her, she is
shocked. She dies because of her heart trouble, already mentioned at the beginning of the story
(p.77, first sentence) and therefore foreshadowing what could happen in the end.
The question is, what reason made her heart fail? The doctor says it was joy that kills (p. 79, last
sentence) and because of this last statement irony is created. The reader knows more than the
characters do because of the change of perspective when Mrs. Mallard goes up to her room. The
narrator changes from an authorial narrator to a personal narrator and the reader gets a detailed
description of her feelings. This mind style enables us to suspect what the sudden appearance of
Mr. Mallard could mean for Luise. It was certainly not joy that Brently Mallard is still alive that
killed her. It was rather

The Textual Relationship Between Virgil And Lucretius
A number of research has shown the textual relationship between Virgil and Lucretius. Many have
noticed the unique use of gliscit by Virgil in 12.9 to describe Turnus reaction to seeing the Latins
retreat and have subsequently connected it to Lucretius, specifically passage 1.474: ignis Alexandri
Phrygio sub pectore gliscens clara accendisset saevi certamina belli . Although Virgilcould have had
this passage in mind, there is another use in Lucretiuswhich can bring new context and
understanding to Virgil s use of gliscit. Scholars before have noted the relationship between Aen.
12.9 and DRN 4.1069; however, it has not been analyzed why Virgil might be invoking this specific
passage.
This paper proposes that Virgil uses gliscit to describe Turnus violent state in order to echo
Lucretius use at the end of Book 4 when he is describing the state of man under the duress of
Venus . This reference both reveals further aspects of Turnus character with subtlety and brevity and
moreover, as some scholars believe that Aeneas anger at the end of Book 12 mirrors Juno s anger
in the beginning of Book 1, in a similar fashion Turnus behavior in the end mimics the
characteristics of the opposing goddess, Venus.
I will begin this study by examining the origin and meaning of gliscere. The meaning of gliscere
is similar to other sc verbs in that it expresses the idea of growth, however, it has a rarer presence
in both Latin verse and prose until Tacitus and even then, it is

Symbols And Motifs In Macbeth
In the drama Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare uses symbols and motifs to
demonstrate how Macbeth s ambition leads him to corruption. For example, immediately after
Lady Macbeth has set up the murder of King Duncan and is relishing her triumph, she declares,
Hark! Peace! / It was the owl that shriek d, the fatal bellman, / Which gives the stern st good night
(II.ii.2 4). This is an example of the symbol of animal imagery as Lady Macbethdescribes the shriek
of the owl, which represents of the motif of death for the reason that the owl s hoot superstitiously
foretells fatality. Additionally, this ties into the idea that ambition leads to corruption as in this
scenario, the hoot of the owl signifies Duncan s murder, committed by Macbeth

Diction In My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke
In the poem My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke, he looks back in his memory as a child and
explains the love he has for his father despite all the flaws his father holds. Roethke describes his
emotions through this poem by using diction, imagery, and the use of tone. In the poem, Roethke
uses diction that shows his emotions towards his father. In the first stanza, the poet says: The
whiskey on your breath Could make a small boy dizzy; But I hung on like death: Such waltzing
was not easy. Even though his father is a drunk he still loves him. He says I hung on like death
which emphasizes the bond he has with his father while they are waltzing together. This also shows
a strong sense of loveand affection he has for him. Because his father s breath reeked of whiskey,
it was hard for them to waltz with ease. Also, the poet somewhat describes pain in way as well
when he uses the words battered and scraped in the third stanza. He uses these word battered
because he s describing that his father s hands as worn out and beat up because he probably
works really hard at his job which requires a lot of labor and the description of that word shows
the reader that he works hard at what he does. With the word scraped, this shows pain because
when the poet and his father waltz, his right ear scraped because his father was drunk on the
whiskey and it made him a little dizzy and the poet most likely hit something which scraped his
ear. The poet also uses the word romped ; this describes that the son and the father are having fun
together waltzing even though they are being careless as they are bumping into the pots and pans in
the kitchen which annoys the mother as described in the second stanza in the last two lines.
With the use of imagery, the poet communicates to the reader the emotional bond between the
father and his son. In the first stanza of the poem, the he illustrates a clear picture between the son
and the father. The whiskey on your breath Could make a small boy dizzy But I hung on like death
Such waltzing was not easy. the poet is saying that the father may not be the best father in the world
with his breath smelling like whiskey, but despite that, the son hangs on like death. The simile the

These are pointed to your personal well being and success in society. Your personal ambition
(personal mission, vision, and key roles) enables you to express your personal intentions,
identity, ideals, values, and driving force, as well as gain more insight into yourself. The
elements of the PBSC are divided among the following four perspectives: 1. Internal: your
physical health and mental state. How can you control these in order to create value for yourself
and others? How can you remain feeling good in your skin at work as well as in your spare
time? 2. External: relations with your spouse, children, friends, employer, colleagues, and
others. How do they see you? 3. Knowledge and learning: your skills and learning ability. How
do you learn, and how can you remain successful in the future? 4. Financial: financial stability.
To what degree are you able to fulfill your financial needs? These four fundamental perspectives
form an integral part of your personal ambition, and together with your personal critical success

Analysis Of The Article The American Crisis By Thomas...
Paine is Temporary but Pride is Forever
The article by Thomas Paine comes from the collection his work titled The American Crisis. In it
Paine uses numerous rhetorical strategies to persuade the American colonists to secede from Great
Britain. Through his use of ethos and logos Paine is able to connect with his audience emotionally
and logically. He also calls on their patriotism and belief in God to commit his audience to his cause.
His work addresses the concerns he has about the oppressive British Empire controlling the
colonies. Paine s article is appropriately titled The American Crisis. Therefore, his audience is the
American colonists. The tone Paine has is highly impassioned. His use of strong embellishing
language helps emphasize the importance of his cause. He capitalizes words such as freedom tax ,
now and God to show that they are key subjects.
Paine first connects with his audience emotionally by using an appeal to the colonial s
patriotism. Paine s article begins with one of his most famous quotes, These are times that try
men s soul . He makes this statement to prove to his audience that he is aware of the difficulties
that Americans will face. He is aware that the sunshine patriot will shrink from service in the midst
of these challenging times. However, he promises love and thanks for those men who can stand it
. Paine guarantees the soldiers who will stay that they will receive glory as proof that their goals
were worth their sacrifices.

Comparing The Five Faithful Sayings Of The Pastoral Epistles
The Five Faithful Sayings of the Pastoral Epistles for the Growing Christian
The Christian today, gets saved and then continues in his life without spiritual growth or nurturing.
Clergy assume that believers are familiar with the contents of those Bibles sitting on their
bookshelves. They assume church members understand the teachings of other major religions and
can hold thoughtful, respectful conversations about the differences between these faiths, states
Patheos in reference to a Gallop poll. No real discipleship is present in the local church. However,
five key points arise in the Pastoral Epistles. Paul wrote the five true and faithful sayings to Timothy
and Titus as they pastored to churches; but the sayings have practical application for the growing
Christian in the church, today.

which might lead to more abortions or even more children with broken homes and abuse. The
rate of suicide will only go up because people will become depressed by the shame of the things
they did while under the influence. Teens are flaky and most are not consistent on what they
want to do with their lives. They are still discovering who they are and who they want to be. If
they drink, it could ruin their whole future in one way or another. Teenagers should not be
allowed to drink for they are not experienced with driving and do not know how alcohol will
affect them. Some say that since Europe has a low drinking age, the U.S. should follow but the
difference between the U.S. and European drinking laws are that Europeans have a higher age
for when teens can drive. Teens may be allowed to drink at 14, 15, or even 16 but they are not

drinking age was lowered to 18 that gives them only two years experience driving and so they are
not aware of what alcohol can do to their systems. American teens are thus much more likely to

as Massachusetts, Michigan, and Maine that have lowered that drinking age had an increase in

Natural Selection William Wilson Analysis
William Wilson is among the sociologists who managed to lay a strong groundwork on sociology
by his arguments and theories. According to him, sociology is a field of study that ranges from
ethology to sociology, making it more of a program which is modest since it incorporates different
disciplines. Wilson believes that biology is clear evidence that there is a relationship between
genetic makeup and humanbehavior especially their social behavior. The studies he conducted on
human behavior revealed that behavioral traits of humans like creativity were as a result of genetic
organization. Wilson was simply trying to say that biological genes can greatly influence the
manner in which humans behaves including predicting their possibility of criminal offense. The
altruistic behavior of humans is a proof that natural selectiontakes place at a group level. It means
that the purpose of natural selection is to look at the manner in which humans behaves in... Show

The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators
GAMES
Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly)
The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as
defined by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are usually illegally ripped (2015). An
emulator is a software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a
gaming console or portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can
interpret signals from a controller and used with the program (Newman, 2013). The creation of
emulators themselves are perfectly legal as an act of investigation and analysis (Newman, 2013).
If these emulators were to be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which
allows for classic game cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto a computer,
then the act would be deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, These
ROMS are legal, even though they re identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere, (2013) such
thoughts leads to the negative connotation of promoting piracy that is associated with emulators
when the gaming industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards
emulation:
The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the
greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. As is the case
with any business or industry, when its products become available for free, the revenue stream

When a patient is laying in a hospital bed in pain and the medication no longer helps, the doctors
and nurses can no longer help except to try and make the patient as comfortable as possible; why
not let them choose to end their life. When the patient is forced to endure agonizing pain even
though they want to die, some decided to end their lives on their own ending in a more traumatic
and messy outcome then a humane injection or pill that will take away their pain and let them slip
away easily. In my opinion there is no reason to suffer endlessly waiting on their imminent death,
why not let a physician who knows what he/she is doing help the patient to end their lives on their
own terms. The government cannot stop suicide from happening, there are people all over the
U.S. that end their lives for a reason. Telling a patient who knows he/she will die sooner than

Isolation In Stephanie Meyer s Twilight
Deeper Into the Twilight
Modern vampire interpretations are supposed to be relatable or desired, they are no longer
supposed to be feared. Stephanie Meyer s book series Twilight is one of the most popular teenage
vampire interpretations. The vampire characters within the movie are metaphors for the teenager.
It is common for teenagers to feel isolated from their surroundings and the people around them.
The Cullen s in the movie are automatically isolated from the rest of the town because they are the
newest citizens and live outside of the town isolated from everyone else. When Bella Swan invited
Edward Cullen to come to the beach with her group of friends he declined feeling like he would
not be wanted there. One of the characters, Angela, had this to say while they were at the beach,

A Struggle For Acceptance In Raymond s Run
People often try to be who they are not, they try to be what others want them to be. $$$ This
causes insecurity and a desperation for acceptance from others. People try to have a second face
to everyone else, trying to receive acceptance, but completely ignoring the consequences: the
pain, lack of freedom, and guilt of lying to others who you appreciate, and yourself, as well.
However, some people realize it is ok to be different, to be unique. After all, everyone is different.
These people learn to acceptthat they are different, and cease the torment of letting others pick out
their flaws, and pressure them to be perfect, to be the gender stereotypical personeveryone should
be. The imperfections of every person are what makes them... Show more content on

This is shown in her narration during at the beginning of the story:
I don t have much work to do around the house like some girls. My mother does that. And I don t
have to earn my pocket money by hustling; George runs errands for the big boys and sells
Christmas cards. And anything else that s got to get done, my father does. (P. 25, Lines 1 6)
This means that Squeaky is not required to do any housework, as girls are stereotypically thought
to (have to) do. Later, the protagonist of the song Whatever It Takes looks back at his/her previous
years and thinks that he/she needs to do more:
Looking at my years like a martyrdom
Everybody needs to be a part of em
Never be enough, I m the prodigal son
I was born to run, I was born for this
Similarly, in Raymond s Run, Squeaky talks about always winning the first place medal, even in
her early youth. Squeaky also talks about always wanting to do more like win more races, like the
quarter meter relay. Squeaky thinks out

My Experience At Ceo And What She Is It Through Hard Work...
I m in this job because I believe I earned it through hard work and high performance. Did I get
some opportunities early in my career because of my race and gender? Probably...I went to work
for a company that was openly seeking to diversify its workplace. So, I imagine race and gender
got the hiring guys attention. And then the rest was really up to me Ursula
Burns, Chairwoman and CEO of Xerox (Byrnes and Crockett, 2009).
These previous words by Ursula Burns display her resilience to prove her worth to the business
world, regardless of her gender and the color of her skin. The basic idea of this case was to
display the significance of Burns helm at CEO and what she has done to attempt in making Xerox
the leading company in its industry again. In terms of breaking diversity barriers, Burns became the
first African American woman to lead a major U.S. corporation and the first CEO to take the reins
from another woman, which was Anne M. Mulcahy (Byrnes and Crockett, 2009). However, Burns
had been a staple at Xerox, working at various influential roles over the past few decades. From
starting as an summer intern at Xerox in 1980, to working in the custom systems division in the
1980 s, to holding the general manager and vice president worldwide manufacturing position in
the late 1990 s, and finally being groomed by Mulcahy to eventually become Xerox s CEO, Burns
built up a resume full of a variety of experiences and deliverables (Byrnes and Crockett, 2009).

Medusa Brewing Company Narrative Report
Narrative for Notice of Intent
Medusa Brewing Company
1 Houghton Street, Hudson MA
General
The site is located at the northwestern side of the intersection between Houghton Street and South
Street. The project site is shown in Figure One, Locus Map: 1 Houghton Street, Hudson MA.
The project site is labelled as Assessors Sheet 29, Lot 218 and is a historic mill complex.
Therefore, certain activities are exempted from requirements stated in 310 CMR 10.58(1) through
(5), but Best Management Practices (BMP) will still be applied.
The site area is currently vacant and is approximately 14,757 SF. The lot is bordered to the west by
the Danforth Brook, with Houghton Street to the east, South Street to the South, and a one story
commercial structure to the north. There is a footbridge southwesterly of the site which connects to
a parking lot. The site is flat with an elevation change of 1 foot from the northern property line to
south street.
The Danforth Brook is a perennial stream, with a running water depth of roughly one foot. The
bottom of the stream is covered with plants and various pieces of rubble. It is confined by stone
walls, both of which are over 100 years old. The riverfront is degraded because, parts of the stone
wall are covered by overgrowth and a tree has grown in the riverbed in an area adjacent to the
footbridge. The wall is in various states of disrepair with pieces of it lying in the riverbed.
Additionally, a small area of Bordering Land Subject to Flooding (BLSF), extends onto the
western portion of the property. Based on the FEMA Flood Insurance Study for Middlesex
County from July 6, 2016, the elevation of the floodplain was determined to be at 204.2 feet. The
flood zone area is having been calculated to be approximately 4,588 SF. The actual area of the
flood zone could vary slightly because the site is flat and could have various undulations not
considered in the survey.
Description of Existing Conditions
Prior to its demolition in 1999 the building housed a three story shoe factory. After its demolition
it was used as a drive through ATM until 2002, when the ATM was removed. Currently the lot is
vacant with low lying plant growth and random debris. The stone wall requires repair at

Sports Agents Essay
Sports Agents
People have been entertained by sport since before the gladiators in the Roman Coliseum. In the
20th century, the publics passion for sport consumes more and more of their free time. As sports
figures became internationally recognized, athletes began to realize their need for professional
representation. Thus, sports agents were born. The field of sports agents has grown since then into
an enormous field. Agents now deal with every aspect of an athlete s life. Agents can be
considered professional mangers who find the best place for their client s talent.
Sports Agents have not been around for a long time. Until the 1970 s, very few players had agents
because teams would not deal with agents (Masteralexis, 244). ... Show more content on

This system bound players to teams and allowed owners to depress salaries of players.
The second factor was the development of competing leagues. Competing leagues such as the
American Football League, the American Baseball Association, the World Hockey Association,
and the United States Football League offered an alternative to athletes (Masteralexis, 246). These
leagues offered higher salaries to induce players to move from their original teams. When players
left a team to for more money, it also increased the salaries of players who stayed on the team.
Agents played a crucial role in determining what was best for athletes, and which league they should
choose.
The third reason for the growth of Sports Agency is the evolution of players associations. The
Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) led the move away from informal,
powerless associations to true labor organizations that took part in collective bargaining
(Masteralexis, 246). This organized a central association to bargain for players income, post
career income, tax breaks, and others. The union also made it possible for players to fight, or even
strike to get what they wanted. One of the largest accomplishments of the MLBPA was establishing
free agency. This was able to happen when Major League Baseball and the MLBPA went through
negotiations and the MLBPA won the right to labor grievance arbitration. Under this arbitration the
MLBPA achieved free agency. The

The type of Iron the body takes in can prevent the intoxication of Iron. High levels Heme Iron,
found in animals and their by products, can harm the body and increase the chance of chronic
diseases. Nonheme Iron, found in plant based diets, is healthy even in overconsumption. The intake
of vitamins and nutrients in the body is absorbed through one way: fats (Truesdell). When fat is
carried into the body s digestive system, it is broken down in the small intestine into lipids that
are then broken down into amino acids. The problem that has risen in western diets is the type
and amount of fat an American consumes. The type of fat found in animal products is saturated,
which means that the fat molecule has no chemical that can break down the fat (Disabled).
Because of the body unable to breakdown these fats, saturated fats is a main culprit to the
increased amount of chronic diseases. People should not eliminate all fat from the body or else
they can be as malnourished as someone who overuses those fats. Instead, foods, like plants and
grain oils, have amounts of unsaturated fat that are good for the body s nourishment in vitamins
and are easy to break down through the digestive process (Truesdell).
The injections of chemicals in our meats and dairy have also found a positive correlation in high
amounts of fat, which is another health concern that has started to become a

extremely helpful to understand the basics about HIE records. I feel that the whole thing had all
the details you needed to understand what they were and how they worked. The only thing that
was not too clear for me was that they are able to access your all your records in the case of an

I also like the fact that if for whatever reason I felt that I did not want some information to be
accessible, I can opt out there and then they cannot access that information. Overall, I feel that
HIE is a safe and helpful program that I would want my information in. Some data that might be
considered sensitive is maybe if one had an illness that almost cost them their life or an injury or
an accident or the death of a loved one due to illness. I do feel that this data should be shared
differently. I feel like this type of data should have its own set of opt in and opt out system because
this is data that could be very sensitive to a patient and should be treated with care. Although this
data can be helpful in diagnosing problems or treatments, I feel that they should not be talked about
casually if they are talked about, they should be spoken of with just the doctor and the patient and
whomever else the patient wishes to hear the sensitive data and that is it. As long as this data is
handled with care and not taken lightly, it will not be a problem. The relationship between
standards is that they are rules or guidelines that help in keeping the information safe. According to

The Wanderer Vs. The Seafarer
In the Anglo Saxon story The Wanderer the exile is self inflicted due to the narrator trying to
find a new lord. Similar to the story The Seafarer , the narrator states how lonely he is and how
cold he is. The narrator exiles himself after all his kinsmen and lord are killed most likely during
a fight or battle. The exile is very hard for the narrator because he is all alone. The separation
from his kinsmen is the worst he has ever felt and he does not have anyone else to rely on during
his journey looking for a new lord. The difference between The Wandererand The Seafarer is that
the narrator in The Wandererdid not choose his exile like the narrator in The Seafarer.

History Of Colonial Society During The Revolutionary War
Joseph lucero AP US History Practice DBQ Essay Every aspect of colonial society was changed
in response to the revolutionary war. Not everything was radically new or even better, necessarily,
but it was at least slightly changed. Even though slaves, women, and loyalists did not experience a
ground shaking change to their roles in society, the sudden societal shift created unrest, which their
predecessors before the war would not have anticipated despite a lack of fundamental changes.
Economically, there were major pushes for self sufficiency in response to the radically changing
markets. Although the economy was in flux, there were still similar patterns of abuse of economic
power that caused some economic and political changes to be... Show more content on

Even though people did not want to radically change their society from a total abolishment of
slavery, the immorality of slavery was not so easily dismissed anymore; Thomas Jefferson
spoke about the feeling of the majority of americans at this time period as, holding a wolf by the
ears , meaning that it was not a pleasant thing to hold on to but letting it go would most certainly
not be the most advisable course of action. However in new territories, since there was no
slavery there to begin with, there would be no wolf to let go of; as a result in a 1787 ordinance it
was written that: There shall be neither slavery nor involuntary servitude in the said territory
further proving the uncomfortable notion of maintaining slavery.(Doc H) Even despite these
proclamations of slavery s disgusting hypocrisy the south would maintain slavery firmly until the
civil war, and being that that is where the majority of slaves resided, it did little to nothing to
affect them. While the after effects of the revolutionary war were negligible in regards to the actual
societal roles of many slaves, the mindset created would lead to more powerful changes throughout
the course of history.Women played a significant role in the revolutionary war, many women
actually fought in the war or were much more independent due to the men leaving to fight in it; as
a result of these factors some women had more confidence in their abilities and

Dissection: exposing the gut
1. Remove the earthworm from the ethanol and place it on a dissection tray.
2. Pin the earthworm to the tray using one pin on either end of the worm.
3. Moisten the earthworm with room temperature earthworm saline. You must keep the worm moist
at all times during the dissection.
4. Locate the clitellum (copulatory organ); this structure is closest to the anterior of the earthworm.
5. Using fine pointed scissors, carefully make a shallow incision in the clitellum. Make this incision
to the side of the midline; this techniques will prevent you from cutting into the gut. NOTE: It is
essential not to cut deeply during the dissection; you will damage the gut tissue. If you tear the gut,
obtain another earthworm and start over.
6. Continue cutting the skin of the earthworm towards the anterior end. It is best to use an upward
pointing direction with the scissors. As you cut the skin, pin back the skin to expose the gut.
7. When you have successfully opened the earthworm, inspect the gut and moisten the worm with
earthworm saline. If the gut is not damaged, continue with the next step.
Dissection: removing the gut
1. With the gut exposed, use a blunt probe to dissect away the septa that connect the underside of
the gut to the body wall. You only need to expose 3 5 cm of the anterior gut.
2. When the gut is loosened from the body wall, again

Symbolic Language In A Dolls House
Perspective is critical if one is to gain an extensive and detailed understanding of any form of
literature, whether it be their own, a characters, or the authors. In A Doll s House symbolic
language and comparison are used to illustrate the protagonist s perspective in correlation to their
situation. This results in Nora s point of view throughout the play being expressed in a more
elaborate manner in regard to the positive and negative aspects of her life. Her absence of
individual thought, the physical objectification she faces, and lack of significance to others all are
all areas further expressed, and will be areas of further discussion. Ultimately through comparison
and symbolism in the language used, Nora s perspective is further expressed, illustrating the
epitome of the title, A Doll s House.
Nora s understanding of how little individuality she possesses is expressed by the symbolic and
comparative language present in the play. The plot clearly displays the role Nora plays in
reference to serving her family, specifically Helmer. While the reader builds their own
perspective of the text, an in depth analysis of the language used by and directed towards Nora
provides insight to her own personal perspective. Nora s initial sentiment of her role is very
limited past serving her husband. This is very clear when she reassures him stating I will do
everything to please you Torvald; I will sing and dance (act 1, page 43). The use of everything
displays the lack of

  • 6. Essay The Laramie Project Critique The Laramie Project Critique *No Works Cited The Laramie project captured the audience s attention by utilizing different design methods on stage. This included sound, stage and hand properties, light, and music. With an ensemble of 10 actors playing over 30 roles, this proved to be an amazing play to experience. The playwright was constructed in a clear manner, which eliminated the confusion of who is who. Through the usage of the stage elements as well as the dynamics of each character, this brought about an effective plot. The first element that made the play dramatic was the sound effects. The sound of the Wyoming wind was constant throughout the whole play, but as emotional scenes and climaxes occurred, the sound of wind... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The set was designed in a way that was very versatile and yet, still convey a serious message. By versatile, I am implying that the open stage with two ramps crossing each other in the background was plain and simple but served a purpose of several scenes such as a bar, church, and even a funeral. A set prop that were a key pieces in the play were the wooden benches, these made it possible for the actors to switch scenes. Some examples on the usage of the benches were when they stacked two benches one on top of another and turned it into a bar, they turned the bench in a vertical position and created a podiums to express different religions, or setting the benches in a close and aligned design to create a church. Other props that influenced the scenes were snow, umbrellas, then using the umbrellas as angel wings, and of course lighting. Instead of building entire sets, or making the audience use their imagination with no props included in the play, the set designers and directors created visuals that were ordinary objects and interacted the audience to use their imagination and build the appropriate set for the scene in their minds. I believe by keeping a low budget, the designers of The Laramie Project accomplished a bigger impact on the audience with a simple low budget set rather than an expensive big fancy set. Props and sound effects were not the only major influences for this greatly constructed play, but also the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One organization, Habitat for Humanities, has made ownership a possibility for anyone who desires to have it. For years people have been searching for a less expensive way to begin their journey out of their predicament of not having their own place to lay their head. Nothing can ever come without hard work though; to become a candidate for owning a home, people have to go through numerous classes and engage sweat equity . This organization has changed the lives of over a million families in over 1,400 bases internationally. Where this great organization came from is the real question. • 9. What Does The Green Light Symbolize In Chapter 1 In the novel The Great Gatsby, there is a lot of symbolism. There are huge, obvious and also small, hard to see symbolic messages. One of the small and hard to see symbolic messages is the green light at the end of Daisy s dock. Depending on the things going on in the book, depends on the symbolism in my eyes. I believe that the greenlight in chapter 1 means that there is hope, when mentioned in chapter 5 it means fascination, and in chapter 9, I believe that the green light symbolizes sadness. In chapter 1 Nick meets Gatsby and they are talking. Gatsby notices the green light and reaches for it. Gatsby reaches for this green light because he is in love with Tom s wife, Daisy. He used to be in love with her a long time ago when he was in the military. They could not stay together because he wasn t rich and couldn t afford a wedding. Some say that Gatsby was in love with Daisy s mansion and not Daisy. I believe that at this point the green light symbolizes hope. This symbolizes the hope that one day he and Daisy will be together again and the hope that she is still in love with him because he is still in love with her. • 10. The Impact Of Globalization On The Auto Parts Industry Introduction: In the contemporary China s economy, it is no doubt that Auto parts Industry has become one of the fastest growing industries which plays a major role in the development of the domestic manufacture as well as the GDP Growth. PESTEL: To evaluate all the internal and external factors that directly or indirectly impact the Auto parts industry, the PESTEL model has been used as the analysis for this major industry. PESTEL stands for the five most important forces that comprehensively analyse and monitor the manufacturing: Political forces, Economical forces, Socio cultural forces, Technological forces, Environmental forces and lastly Legal forces. All of these forces decide how well the industry can perform in not only the current period but also in the near future. In the few recent years, China has replaced United State to become the world largest economy. This Economic situation has opened an enormous number of opportunities for most industries to expand their operation from domestic market to international market. Shanghai, which is the China s largest commercial and industrial city, focuses on 6 major industries which are information technology, automobile, large scale electromechanical equipment, petrochemicals, heavy manufacturing and biopharmaceutical products (http:/ /en.people.cn/200207/20/eng20020720_100055.shtml). • 11. Present Wireless Scenario Consists Of Homogeneous Network... Present wireless scenario consists of homogeneous network and heterogeneous networks. In homogeneous network each base station has similar transmit power level, antenna pattern, receiver noise floor and similar backhaul connectivity. But this type of network has disadvantage of coverage hole. In heterogeneous network the macro BSs is collocated with micro, pico and femto cells. This arrangement increases overall spectral efficiency per unit area (capacity) of the network. Whereas small cell like micro, pico, femto and relays are used to avoid coverage hole and to provide mobility to the users. Not only this relays can be used to provide backhaul connectivity, where wire line link is not possible or are expensive to deploy. As determined by the information theoretic capacity limits, current cellular systems have evolved to a point where a system with one BS achieves near optimal performance. Researchers are now moving towards more advanced heterogeneous network topology which will bring the network more closely to the mobile user leading to further capacity gains [46 49]. HetNets will significantly improve the spectral efficiency per unit area by utilizing a diverse set of BSs. 1.4Elements of Heterogeneous Network Heterogeneous deployment need to use innovative cell association and inter celling interference coordination techniques in order to realize the promised capacity and coverage gains. • 12. Cultural Identity Among Sudanese Youth Who are we? A study on cultural identity among Sudanese youth. Background Who am I or who are we? are both questions that require in depth knowledge of identity. A complex sociological and psychological phenomenon, identity has been classified into many types. Self identity is defined as an individual s awareness and expression of their distinctive characteristics. Weinreich (1986) highlighted that it is influenced by both the individual s past experiences and future aspirations and contributes to the formation of one s self esteem, and individuality. It also indicates the individual s capacity for self reflection (Leary Tangney 2003). Cultural identity is the shared identity by all members of a social group and describes the expression of that group s affiliations (Weinreich Saunderson 2003). It helps them gain a sence of belonging and creates strong bonds of association. This sence of cultural identity can be through similarities in nationality, locality, ethnicity, social class, religion, generation or any form of distinct social group characteristics. However, there may be differences between members with these shared cultures. Ancestry, skin tone, spoken language, and political attitudes can all distinguish between individuals within social groups (Holliday, 2010). This can lead to discrimination, tribalism and racism as society members evaluate those who are in the group from those who are out of the group (Cote Levine 2002). Sudan has a population ... Remember to use smooth strokes with your brush and remove any drops. The goal is to make the stain look as smooth as possible. Remember to put the stain on thin so that you can see the wood grains but thick enough to protect the wood. You may want to wear a mask or respirator if the smell of the stain bothers you. Since many years have past subsequently film, radio, and different platforms of social media have all been censored because more and more technology is not appropriate for kids. Although many people think that censorshiphas changed the media platforms, it s actually the other way around. Media platforms have changed censorship throughout the years by switching up social media, news, government, and privacy concepts. Social media has shaped censorship over the years by introducing new applications to our phones and computers. One event that has shaped it was in 2016, when Dan Ilic s video was taken down from a social media site a few second after Mr. Ilic posted it, the video had already been on that same social media site in 2011 and was not taken down till then. • 18. Article Report On The Law And Safety Codes Essay Article Summary I selected the article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texas for review, as it applies to the state in which I reside. The article cites Texas Health and Safety Codes, based on a 1999 Texas Supreme Court ruling that states counselors do not have a duty to warn or protect. Having a duty to warn and protect is defined as protecting clients or others from perceived harm (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). An example would be that a client tells their counselor in a confidential session that he is considering stabbing his ex girlfriend. The duty to warn would mean the counselor should notify authorities and the ex girlfriend thus breaking confidentiality. The duty to protect would be to admit client to a facility for the client to be assessed for a propensity for violence towards the ex girlfriend. This became important after a 1969 incident where a counselor, had a client expressed harm towards a girl and the counselor contacted the authorities, yet never contacted the girl, who was subsequently killed by the client a few months later, known as the Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California case (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2014). The article Duty to Warn and Protect: Not in Texascites the 1999 Texas Supreme court decision in the case Thapar v. Zezulka; which stated that counselors do not have a duty to warn and protect because it breaks client/counselor confidentiality (Barbee, Combs, Ekleberry, Villalobos, 2007). Once people share the historical significance of it, an object can symbolize the overcoming of hardships of those lives in which it becomes a part. Therefore, it may indeed instruct future generations to glean wisdom from the past. August Wilsons play The Piano Lessoncenters on the trials and triumphs of a family affected by the enslaving of their ancestors and by current racial prejudice. She believes if they sell the piano, she risks losing part of her identity. With tender sentiment, Berniece relishes the determination of her ancestors to appreciate life and the love they had for one another in the face of slavery. Boy Willie says, See, you just looking at the sentimental value...You can sit up here and look at that piano for the next hundred years and it s just gonna be a piano (Wilson 51). Berniece s pertinacious refusal to part with the piano emanates from her sentimental devotion to it and the memory of her ancestors. Therefore, Berniece characterizes herself through the piano as it brings the beauty of the past generations to their lives (Wilson 50, 52). Boy Willie defines himself as an African American who declares his equality as a man and seeks to enhance his self worth by becoming a land owner (Wilson 51, 94). Therefore, he values the piano for its potential to raise his personal quality of life through a financial gain. The significance of the piano resides in the differing viewpoints of each sibling. The Laudato Si unambiguously accepts scientific causes that impacts the climate that were beneficially man made, stating climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods . Representing one of the principals that challenges humanity. Essay on Kate Chopin Kate Chopin The Story of an Hour The story The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, written in 1894, is about a woman gaining independence and experiencing a new freedom, due to the death of her husband. The topic of the story was rather scandalous at the end of the 19th century. Women had no control over their property and weren t allowed to request a divorce. Luise Mallard is a young wife (p.78, 3rd paragraph). She immediately feels grief and starts to cry when Richards gives her the news about the death of her husband. She looks forward to the coming years (p. 78, 6th paragraph, end), she even hopes that she will have a long life, so that she can fully enjoy her freedom (p. 79, 3rd paragraph, end). But Mrs. Mallard will never lead such al life because her husband is not dead. When he comes through the door, directly after she realized what a life without her husband means to her, she is shocked. She dies because of her heart trouble, already mentioned at the beginning of the story (p.77, first sentence) and therefore foreshadowing what could happen in the end. The question is, what reason made her heart fail? The doctor says it was joy that kills (p. 79, last sentence) and because of this last statement irony is created. The reader knows more than the characters do because of the change of perspective when Mrs. Mallard goes up to her room. The narrator changes from an authorial narrator to a personal narrator and the reader gets a detailed description of her feelings. This mind style enables us to suspect what the sudden appearance of Mr. Mallard could mean for Luise. It was certainly not joy that Brently Mallard is still alive that killed her. It was rather ... • 25. The Textual Relationship Between Virgil And Lucretius A number of research has shown the textual relationship between Virgil and Lucretius. Many have noticed the unique use of gliscit by Virgil in 12.9 to describe Turnus reaction to seeing the Latins retreat and have subsequently connected it to Lucretius, specifically passage 1.474: ignis Alexandri Phrygio sub pectore gliscens clara accendisset saevi certamina belli . Although Virgilcould have had this passage in mind, there is another use in Lucretiuswhich can bring new context and understanding to Virgil s use of gliscit. Scholars before have noted the relationship between Aen. 12.9 and DRN 4.1069; however, it has not been analyzed why Virgil might be invoking this specific passage. This paper proposes that Virgil uses gliscit to describe Turnus violent state in order to echo Lucretius use at the end of Book 4 when he is describing the state of man under the duress of Venus . This reference both reveals further aspects of Turnus character with subtlety and brevity and moreover, as some scholars believe that Aeneas anger at the end of Book 12 mirrors Juno s anger in the beginning of Book 1, in a similar fashion Turnus behavior in the end mimics the characteristics of the opposing goddess, Venus. I will begin this study by examining the origin and meaning of gliscere. Diction In My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke In the poem My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke, he looks back in his memory as a child and explains the love he has for his father despite all the flaws his father holds. Roethke describes his emotions through this poem by using diction, imagery, and the use of tone. In the poem, Roethke uses diction that shows his emotions towards his father. In the first stanza, the poet says: The whiskey on your breath Could make a small boy dizzy; But I hung on like death: Such waltzing was not easy. Even though his father is a drunk he still loves him. He says I hung on like death which emphasizes the bond he has with his father while they are waltzing together. This also shows a strong sense of loveand affection he has for him. Because his father s breath reeked of whiskey, it was hard for them to waltz with ease. Also, the poet somewhat describes pain in way as well when he uses the words battered and scraped in the third stanza. He uses these word battered because he s describing that his father s hands as worn out and beat up because he probably works really hard at his job which requires a lot of labor and the description of that word shows the reader that he works hard at what he does. With the word scraped, this shows pain because when the poet and his father waltz, his right ear scraped because his father was drunk on the whiskey and it made him a little dizzy and the poet most likely hit something which scraped his ear. The poet also uses the word romped ; this describes that the son and the father are having fun together waltzing even though they are being careless as they are bumping into the pots and pans in the kitchen which annoys the mother as described in the second stanza in the last two lines. With the use of imagery, the poet communicates to the reader the emotional bond between the father and his son. In the first stanza of the poem, the he illustrates a clear picture between the son and the father. The whiskey on your breath Could make a small boy dizzy But I hung on like death Such waltzing was not easy. the poet is saying that the father may not be the best father in the world with his breath smelling like whiskey, but despite that, the son hangs on like death. • 35. The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators GAMES Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly) The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as defined by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are usually illegally ripped (2015). An emulator is a software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a gaming console or portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can interpret signals from a controller and used with the program (Newman, 2013). The creation of emulators themselves are perfectly legal as an act of investigation and analysis (Newman, 2013). If these emulators were to be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which allows for classic game cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto a computer, then the act would be deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, These ROMS are legal, even though they re identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere, (2013) such thoughts leads to the negative connotation of promoting piracy that is associated with emulators when the gaming industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards emulation: The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. The report says that, there is an increasing use of HFT in FX market in the past few years as there is greater infrastructure available for electronic trading. It was found that, in the FX market, HFT was active in most liquid currency markets and prevalent among dominant currencies. It relied on operating high volume but very small orders, maintained low margins along with low latency. This meant that all orders were placed and withdrawn in a matter of a few milliseconds. Specific algorithms, which analyzed the market, were used to perform these strategies. Another noticeable trend was that most traders adopted short risk holding periods of less than five seconds for greater efficiency. The report predicts that HFT will spread to currencies, which are traded in lesser volumes as well and will likely be used in currency markets of emerging economies. When a patient is laying in a hospital bed in pain and the medication no longer helps, the doctors and nurses can no longer help except to try and make the patient as comfortable as possible; why not let them choose to end their life. When the patient is forced to endure agonizing pain even though they want to die, some decided to end their lives on their own ending in a more traumatic and messy outcome then a humane injection or pill that will take away their pain and let them slip away easily. In my opinion there is no reason to suffer endlessly waiting on their imminent death, why not let a physician who knows what he/she is doing help the patient to end their lives on their own terms. The government cannot stop suicide from happening, there are people all over the U.S. that end their lives for a reason. Telling a patient who knows he/she will die sooner than later due to their illness that they cannot end their lives gives that patient in some cases a feeling of loss of power. When an adult is told by younger doctors and nurses that they are not to end their lives, it pushes some over the edge and they end up wanting to end their lives in their own way. When taking their lives into their own hands it can become messy and traumatic. Giving the terminally ill adults the power back to choose when they want to go and how they want to go makes their ending of life much more peaceful. The patient that is able to choose death ... Stephanie Meyer s book series Twilight is one of the most popular teenage vampire interpretations. The vampire characters within the movie are metaphors for the teenager. Competing leagues such as the American Football League, the American Baseball Association, the World Hockey Association, and the United States Football League offered an alternative to athletes (Masteralexis, 246). These leagues offered higher salaries to induce players to move from their original teams. When players left a team to for more money, it also increased the salaries of players who stayed on the team. Agents played a crucial role in determining what was best for athletes, and which league they should choose. The third reason for the growth of Sports Agency is the evolution of players associations. The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) led the move away from informal, powerless associations to true labor organizations that took part in collective bargaining (Masteralexis, 246). This organized a central association to bargain for players income, post career income, tax breaks, and others. In A Doll s House symbolic language and comparison are used to illustrate the protagonist s perspective in correlation to their situation. This results in Nora s point of view throughout the play being expressed in a more elaborate manner in regard to the positive and negative aspects of her life. Her absence of individual thought, the physical objectification she faces, and lack of significance to others all are all areas further expressed, and will be areas of further discussion. Ultimately through comparison and symbolism in the language used, Nora s perspective is further expressed, illustrating the epitome of the title, A Doll s House. Nora s understanding of how little individuality she possesses is expressed by the symbolic and comparative language present in the play.
