This document describes a student project that aims to experimentally analyze heat transfer enhancement using different types of inserts. It will investigate various factors that influence heat transfer for each insert type across a range of Reynolds numbers. The project will also compare experimental and software analysis results for different inserts. Heat transfer can be enhanced through passive surface and flow manipulation techniques that interrupt the boundary layer, create swirl flow, or modify the flow path. Enhanced heat transfer allows for more compact and efficient heat exchanger design.
