2011). At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social media
can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011).
Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes
effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic research
has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is a continued
need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to social media
and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly, our study
investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage online with
brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written diary to fifty eight
individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured background information on
social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent interactions across two primary
social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email. Email interactions were included in the
study because this form of contact is part of the electronic ecosystem connecting consumers and
businesses and is complementary to social media usage.
Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First, we
uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer

What Are The Four Types Of Innovation Radical,...
Discussion Question 7.2 Describe a firm you think has been highly innovative. Which of the four
types of innovation radical, incremental, disruptive, or architectural did it use? Did the firm use
different types over time? Chipotle is the leader in the fast casual market, with over 1,900 locations,
$3.21 billion in annual revenue, and the ability to serve up to 300 customers an hour. It has innovated
the restaurant market by providing reasonably priced scratch made meals, containing local ingredients,
all within the confines of a pleasing aesthetic environment (Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc., 2014;
Kaplan, 2011). To reach its success, the firm utilized architectural innovation by stealing components
of various types of restaurants already in existence. The company appropriated its rapid meal
preparation methods from fast food chains such Subway and Quiznos, adopted its provision of quality
food from more upscale casual Mexican restaurants, and implemented a locally based supply chain
similar to that seen at many local farm to table establishments. This convergence of different
properties came together right as the millennial generation was coming of age and demand higher
quality, natural, and locally sourced ingredients in meals that could receive quickly. The company has
also attempted to utilize an incremental innovation approach by removing all CMO ingredients and
testing new foods such as breakfast items, soup, and chorizo sausage (The Associated Press, 2015;

Effects Of Decolonization Of Burma
Alexey Skyban (14201708)
Intro International Politics
13 October 2014
Unwillingness to do what is Right
Decolonization after 1945 undoubtedly caused more harm than good. Inevitably, colonized countries
across the globe would have eventually requested sovereignty. Today, many decolonized countries are
beginning to prosper and flourish; however, their path to such a state was long and challenging. The
fluke in decolonization was not that it happened, but the way it did. Only concerned with self interest
and prosperity domestically, European Empires were blinded to the consequences of abandoning their
colonies without any guidance or support. Poor decolonization of Burma resulted in widespread
oppression, downfall of the economy, and violation of human rights. Britain left Burma with a very
weak government unable to control its own country. As a result, the democratic government was
overthrown and a ruthless tyrant rose to power.
Before British rule, Burma was a wealthy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new government was continuously challenged by communists and under represented ethnic
groups. Home to one of the largest diversity of ethnic groups, it was extremely challenging to please
all. With demands of, protection of ethnic culture, language, and religion, the devolution of tangible
executive, legislative, and judicial power to the ethnic states within a true federal union, and a
democratic form of government (ConflictMap.org) not met, the ethnic groups turned to violence. As a
result, Burma experienced intense periods of civil war which devastated and destabilized the country
even further. As the economy collapsed, U Nu was forced out of office by General Ne Win in order to
restore law and order . U Nu was re elected in February 1960, but two years later on March 2nd 1962,
Ne Win seized power in a coup d état and proclaimed himself to be Burma s new military

4.1 Search Strategy
The main purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between postnatal depression and
peer support by way of reviewing primary research articles. The search strategy adopted for this study
can be broken down into several steps. The key concepts and terminologies for the study were
identified. The synonyms of the terms were then determined which were also included within the
search terms. Boolean operators were the chosen search features. Databases from which the literature
search would be conducted were chosen. Using Boolean operators, different search expression were
created and the search conducted. The results were evaluated and the inclusion exclusion criteria

The Woodstock Music Festival in 1969
Woodstock 1969 In August of 1969 at Bethel,New York, Woodstock was born. The three day festival
was full of music, art, peace, love and crazy dancing. Woodstock was one of the most historic events of
the 60 s. Woodstock was a large event in the 1960 s that had both positive and negative events. At the
festival many musicians that we call legends today performed at this festival and the ones who turned
it down not knowing how big it was going to turn out sooner regretted it. The festival became so
popular it led the modern generation to create events similar to it. Woodstock only was supposed to be
a maximum of 150,000 people but over half a million showed up. And by the end of the three day
event, thousands of people left with a greater aspect and viewpoint on life. Woodstock was originally
supposed to be held in the small town of Woodstock,New York and it was supposed to be a recording
studio because in the late 60 s many people from all over moves there to become musicians. For the
studio to get built, a music festival was going to be held, and the ticket sells, we re going to go
towards building the Woodstock studio (Perone,23) . Since the city of Woodstock denied their
permission the great festival was held at the Max Lasgurs dairy farm in Bethel,New York on August
15 17, 1969, the farm was 600 acres of land. They kept the name Woodstock because the creators of
the event wanted to still build the studio in Woodstock. Since they only expected a few thousand to

Assess The Impact Of Transnational Cinema
Being an island nation makes us a trading nation, which is an obvious connection between borders.
How we trade with each other allows for transnational cinema to be present and is the basis for an
understanding, which connects people across geographical borders. Following the recent European
referendum it is relevant to mention how this will affect the UK s film industry regarding trade. The
MEDIA Scheme/Creative Europe funding will be stopped, co productions with different countries will
be harder to achieve in the short term, British/European co productions may need new legislation, and
fewer UK films will be shown in European cinemas as well as many other negative outcomes
(Follows, 2016). However this shows how much transnationalism affects UK trade, company
distribution and future films success as well as the impact which politics has upon the film industry.
This shows how not only cast/crewmembers nationalities, the location and the storyline matters in
transnational cinema, but the trade and distribution after the film is made all enhance the
transnationality of the piece.
Interestingly, it seems when discussing terrorism in cinema, filmmakers more often than not make
films about terrorism that has happened in their own country. Hollywood cinema noticeably has an
absence of terrorism, whereas European films in contrast have far more. ... Show more content on

viewpoints, whether that be from the filmmakers perspective or through the innate customs of the

Impact Of Technology
Impacts of Technology Andrew S. Grove, a well known author and engineer, acknowledged, In
technology, whatever can be done, will be done ( Technology Quotes and Sayings ). Technology is
extremely beneficial and makes students lives easier all around the world. Some researchers have
made an argument that technology causes students to think shorter; however, technology engages
students and entices them to learn more efficiently with ease. Technology helps students expand their
knowledge by intently keeping them engaged; quickly finding resources, connecting them with others,
and giving them confidence in their work. Technology engages students, allowing them to remember
information and indulge in their studies. Students are more likely to retain information and become
more open to opportunities when they are engaged in their studies. Arthur H. Rotstein verifies in an
environment without textbooks, School officials believe the electronic materials will get students more
engaged in learning (Rotstein). There is definitely controversy when talking about this quote. Many
researchers believe that technology is a huge distraction in the classroom, which can be true but not
always the case. Lack of interest is a huge part of kids not remembering what happened in class or
what the teacher was talking about, and technology can change that by alluring their attention. Books
and paper can seem like a bore to students; simply put, an outdated resource that they do not want to

[edit]Level IV: Ultimate Ensemble
The Ultimate Ensemble hypothesis of Tegmark himself. This level considers equally real all universes
that can be defined by mathematical structures. This also includes those having physical laws different
from our observable universe. Tegmark writes that abstract mathematics is so general that any Theory
Of Everything (TOE) that is definable in purely formal terms (independent of vague human
terminology) is also a mathematical structure. For instance, a TOE involving a set of different types of
entities (denoted by words, say) and relations between them (denoted by additional words) is nothing
but what mathematicians call a set theoretical model, and one can generally find a formal system that
it is a model of. He argues this implies that any conceivable parallel universe theory can be described
at Level IV and subsumes all other ensembles, therefore brings closure to the hierarchy of multiverses,
and there cannot be say a Level V. [8]

Sexism As A Scientist Or Engineer
In the long history of sexism in science, technology, engineer and mathematics (STEM), women have
been discrimination of being unfit or not apprehensiveness enough for being a scientist or engineer by
men who have high doubtful on women or mocking women working as an engineer that they would
destroy something. Determining or judging the action of the gender in different position and the
thinking of discrimination from the superior race or gender to the lesser is what it called sexism.
Sexism is most common in science and engineer especially women is the most affected.
In my desired job position in the world of Biotechnology, I have an inferior knowledge in my brain
about women in the lab. In the past of my experiences with my brother, I went to visit his college
called California State University, Fresno or Fresno State for short. I used my experience in this essay
because it is related to my job position and the case that I will explain henceforth in this essay. I
entered Fresno State to explore several buildings on campus. The first building I went into is College
of Science and Mathematics. As you see, I love to learn about microorganisms, so I went to see the
lab. As I peeked in the lab, I noticed something that seems not right. I don t see any women in the lab,
just men. I asked someone in the lab why is there no women in the lab. That person told me those
women is not good enough to be scientist. Did I just hear sexism from his voice? That is when I
realized I

Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s...
Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s Film
Branagh s adaptation of Mary Shelly s novel was fairly good with significant changes to Shelly s text;
however this was done to illuminate what he considers to be the major themes of the novel, eg the
dangers of the relentless pursuit of science and Victor s relationships.
Victors love interest with Elizabeth in the film is much more intense compared to what is described in
the novel as communication is mostly through letters, whereas in the film Branagh has Elizabeth
follow him left, right and centre, she even comes to his sick bed after the creation. This however is for
the interest of the audience as many people enjoy love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As in Shelley s novel victors reaction is the beauty of the dream vanished and disgust filled my heart ,
but Branaghs film attempts to address why he abandons the monster and also how close Victor was to
his family. This makes it even more triadic to bare witness to their deaths, especially when the
distraught Elizabeth is seen carrying Williams s lifeless body, the thunderstorm also sets the scene and
makes the audience feel hatred for the monster and despair for Victor and his family.
Branagh showed the misery of the monster, especially when it was rejected by the De Lacy family but
I think Branagh was very much one sided on where our sympathies should lie and this was clearly
directed towards Victor, this maybe because Branagh is the director as well as Victor. I think Branagh
should have portrayed one aspect of the book in more detail and that is the eloquence of the creature.
Having Clerval stay alive also seems to serve a purpose, this meant they Victors conscience was there
to observe what he did to Elizabeth. Also having Justine killed in that manner made it seem more
painful for Victor as he did not even have a court case as an attempt to save her innocent life. I think
Helena Carter made a good Elizabeth as she portrayed the characters beauty; however she was a bit
boisterous for that particular

How Did The Pope Lose His Power
Power is said to be the authority to act. Throughout the years of growth and strong leadership, the
Roman Church began to suffer its grip on the faithfulness of the European people. This downfall was
inevitable due to the strict policies of the Popes that had tremendous power. During the centuries, the
papacy suffered a major decline in authority due to several events and movements. These include, the
incident between King Philip IV and Boniface III, the Great Schism and post Black Death. In the end,
I strongly agree that the Pope s power had declined in relation to all the events and movements that
have happened in the past to affect it severely. During the 10th century, there have been conflict
between the Pope and the king for powers. The most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response to all this chaos, Philip accused the Pope of committing crimes against man, nature, and
God. Pope Boniface didn t like the accusation, so he retreated to Avignon. The Pope s movements of
going back to Avignon were a weakness shown because the people of Rome felt very fearful and
anxious with the idea of the Pope overseeing the citizens from a different city. In the perspective of the
people, they didn t believe in the Pope to make wise and crucial decisions for Rome. Things came to
an end when King Philip IV made a powerful order of denouncing the Pope. Later, King Philip
gathered an important council meeting of the Church and talked about the allegations of Pope
Boniface, which includes simony, bribery, and more. To counterattack King Philip, Boniface came up
with a papal bull to banish the king, but it wasn t enough. The last attack happens when Philip
demands an arrest on Boniface, but failed. Finally, Pope Boniface VIII died as he was viewed as a
crude leader by the people of Rome. In fact, many will say that he abused his powers when he moved
in at the Avignon. I think this was one major event that

Importance Of National Self-Determination In Africa
In African contexts, an emphasis was given to the fact that national self determination meant self
determination of the people against the colonial landlords. The nation didn t oppose so much another
nation as it did the colonial autocratic ruler (xxx, xxx). But what seems more important is the fact that
when the colonial power finally realized the need to prepare their colonies for self government, they
did so within the framework established by the colonial state (xxx, xxx). The colonial state thus
became equated not only with its physical attributes (territory and population) but also with its
bureaucracy, the nervous center from which stemmed ail decisions affecting the country (xxx, xxx).
National self determination also found its ultimate expression, not in continental Pan Africanism or
broader regional units, but in the states, Africans inherited from the colonial powers (xxx, xxx). The
first indications that pan Africanism had been overruled by the nationalism of individual states came
during the first assembly of African independent states held in Accra in 1958. It was then that Kwame
Nkrumah, who ironically until then had led the movement towards Pan Africanism, expressed the
need to respect the independence, the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of the newly created
states in the interests of peace (xxx, xxx). When African states finally achieved their independence in
conformity with the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions interpreted as the

Social Hierarchy In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis
Though the general principles of statecraft have survived the rise and fall of empires, every increase of
knowledge has brought about changes in the political, economic, and social structure John Boyd Orr.
A social hierarchy has been present since the earliest of times, and is still relevant today. When a plane
crash lands on an island in the middle of the ocean and only twelve and six year old boys are left to
fend for themselves, they begin to start over and the reader watches them change from proper young
men to uncivilized savages. Throughout the story Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the reader
watches the boys that have started over on the island develop into a classic example of social
hierarchy without any guidance or outside influence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the first meeting, all of the characters are meeting each other, figuring out personalities and the
logistics of their new predicament. When the boys come to the realization that there are no adults and
there are no rules, they decide that they need a to elect a ruler, or chief. I ought to be chief, said Jack
with simple arrogance... Let s have a vote .... Vote for chief ... Ralph raised a hand for silence. All
right, who wants Jack for chief (22 23)? The main idea of Lord of the Flies is starting civilization over
and observing the direction that it takes. In this scene, it can be observed that in human nature and
instinct there is a desire for a social hierarchy and order, because that is what is comfortable and most
natural. Without an adult or person of more life experience than twelve years providing guidance, the
adolescents are able to cultivate their own structured environment to fill their needs, which happens to

How Does Machiavelli Influence The Leader

Introduction and overview
The Prince is an Italian book written by Italian diplomat and political theorist Niccolò Machiavelli.
Machiavelli wrote The Prince as a practical guide for ruling. Niccolò Machiavelli, in dedicating his

politicians regarding how to gain power and how to keep it. The methods that Machiavelli suggests for
leaders are also relevant for today s leaders as same these were for the leaders of sixteenth century.

Betty Friedan s The Feminine Mystique
In The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan presents several arguments that dealt with the issues of
personal engagement and equality that women of the time faced, calling it, the problem that has no
name. Friedan describes an ideal that middle class women of the 1960s were held to. She highlights
that women were chained to kitchens and their spouses and children, while their dreams of careers and
college degrees were suppressed. These women had goals and dreams, and they wanted more, but as
Friedan describes, it was nearly impossible to break through the feminine mystique. Friedan argues
that the stereotypes, occupations, and marriages that the women held caused the feminine mystique,

These women in offices and labs had to put forth tremendous effort to achieve their career goals, but
were left out of Betty Friedan s arguments, quite possibly so that competitors could not merely claim
that housewives were just lazy and taking the easy way out. Friedan also leaves out that after World
War II, jobs were actually available to anyone who wanted one, women included. The labor force was
no longer restricted to just men. If a woman wanted a job, she was capable of getting one. At the time
The Feminine Mystique was published, two thirds of the women in America were actually already part
of the working class. What it really came down to was how badly these middle to upper class women
wanted to work outside of their homes. By cutting out most of the working female population, Friedan

How Does King Lear s Play Relate To Shakespeare

was written. One of the meanings of the work as a whole in King Lear is that loyalty doesn t always
have to be born of blood. We see this mostly with Kent, Lear s faithful servant, who stayed by Lear s
side no matter the situation. Nature is also another meaning of the work as a whole. When related to
Kent the question of nature is whether or not he is loyal to his king, and without compare he is. In my
life now I have found that the best of friends will be more loyal and kind to you then the closest of
families, proving that the stories and characters Shakespeare created can be paralleled in the modern
world. Although one could claim that the events that occur in Shakespeare s plays are nothing more
than fiction, it is obvious from both the characters and the plot that Shakespeare s work The first
words Kent spoke in this play were Good my liege (pg 15). The first time Kent is seen in the play he is
trying to convince Lear to rethink his decision about banishing Cordelia. Lear takes this as a challenge
and of course banishes Kent as well. Kent then chooses to come back and work for Lear in disguise.
This was the first glimpse of Kent s character,

The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict in the Middle East Essay
The Palestinian Israeli Conflict in the Middle East
The Arab world is not in a compromising mood... Nations never concede; they fight. You won t get
anything by peaceful means or compromise. You can, perhaps get something, but only by the force of
your arms...But it s too late to talk of peaceful solutions (Bard 1). The Arab League Secretary Azzam
Pasha said this statement on September 16, 1947, eight months before the state of Israel was
established. The Arabs held this mentality in a time when Israel was not yet a fact. This trait was
hereditary in the sense that it was taught to their children, who taught it to their children, and so on.
Those are the people who are living in Arab countries, and still despise everything about Israel ...

Even though a cease fire was in effect, the war continued as Arabs closed the Suez Canal to Israel
shipping and Israel (in retaliation) did not allow the 700,000 Arab refugees return to their homes
(Regan 22).
The problem was that no Arab State wanted those refugees so camps were set up in Gaza Strip, which
was controlled by Egypt, and the West Bank, which was controlled by Jordan (23). This inability to
find a home land for the people now called Palestinians would lead to many of Israel s conflicts with
the Arab world. The Arabs did not want their Palestinian brothers in their countries but, for some
reason, Israel, the Jewish State, was supposed to take them in even though it had the best reason not
to. Was Israel, which had just won the war, now supposed to take back their enemies? Of course not.
From 1949 to 1956, there was no peace in Israel, because Egypt continued attacking Israel from one
side while Syria continued attacking from the other. In 1953, in order to try to stop the violence, Israel
passed the Land Acquisition Law, offering payment for property taken from Arab citizens of Israel
who lived there between May 4, 1949 and April 1, 1952 (Silverman 54). However that did not appear
to stop the terror in the region or make peace with its neighbors. On October 14, 1956 Egyptian
President Nasser said, [o]ur hatred is very strong. There is no sense in talking about peace with Israel.

How does sleep affect health? Studies show that the body needs to receive 7 to 9 hours of sleep each

Alexander The Great s Influence On The Persian Empire
Alexander the Great, he is one the most glorified and historically significant leaders within history.
Unique, the one word that could be used to describe the details and importance of his life. Unlike his
predecessors that came before him, what sets him apart has to be how he rose to power and how he
used that power. And even though he only lived until the age of 33, he accomplished what those that
came before him failed to do so. The topics to be discussed are how he rose to power and what he
managed to accomplish through military strategies and his cultural influence on the Persian Empire.
In order to actually understand how Alexander the Great came to power, we must first explore into his
background. He was born around 356 B.C.E in July within the capital city of Macedonia. When he
was just a small child, he spent his time observing his father, Phillip the II, who during that time was
the current leader of Macedonia. His father was a force to be reckoned with, and scholars like to link
this to Alexander s future success within the empire. Along with watching his father, little Alexander
at the age of 13, eventually gained a very smart and intelligent tutor by the name of Aristotle. Of
which, was a very successful philosopher that taught him literature and rhetoric. It would later serve a
purpose in increasing Alexander s interest in many subjects such as science, medicine and philosophy.
This process of his training would continue on until he reached the age of 16. Later

Real Play and Piaget Essay examples
Real Play Play that is initiated and directed by children and that bubbles up from within the child
rather than being imposed by adults is disappearing from our landscape of childhood. There are many
reasons for this, such as long hours spent in front of a TV, fear of stranger danger when outside.
(Exchange Every Day, 2009) Research, past and present, clearly points to the importance of play for
the healthy and full development of the young child. Piaget theorized that a child s mental models, or
cognitive structures, are based on the child s activities: engagement makes meaning. Many children

Piaget s and Vygotsky s theories are best known for their insights into the development of thought

with the development for thinking. While Piaget emphasizes the role of the child s interactions with
physical objects in developing mature forms of thinking. Vygotsky focuses on the child s interactions

aids in the child s development of the execution function, which is a key role in the child s ability to

Bowling for Columbine Thesis Statements Essay

Bowling for Columbine Thesis Statements
1) The high casualties caused by guns are a result of how easy it is to obtain one. If policies were
made stricter, casualties would go down.
I do not agree with this because it would only affect the people who go to obtain their guns legally. If
you really wanted one all you would have to do is steal it, so the policies would then have no effect on
you.
2) Minorities and blacks are made to be scarier than they are because they are always the ones
portrayed on TV causing the crimes.
I agree with this statement because when I listen to the news 90% of the time when I heard crimes
talked about they were committed by blacks or Mexicans. Only rarely do I hear of a crime ... Show

6) Charlton Heston does have some contribution to gun violence because even after the tragedies of
Columbine and Buell he held pro gun rallies in those towns, after he was asked to cancel.
I agree with this because it shows that even though he sees how guns have killed people, he is still
pushing for people to purchase them and supporting them fully.
7) Influence for violence is always put on the media and figure heads such as Marilyn Manson but
never on the president.
I agree with that because if you pay attention to society that s how it is. On the day Columbine
occurred the US also dropped the record number of bombs on Kosovo in the war, but when people go
to pinpoint the blame to say why Eric and Dylan shot up Columbine nobody ever blamed it on the
president.
8) Parents don t realize that it s harder for kids in school today than it was when they attended school
back in the day.
I agree with this because there is a lot more bullying in today s day in age than there was way back
when. Also kids take it more personally which messes with their self esteem quite a bit.
9) The US is so gun happy and has as many murders as it does because the media is continuously
pumping fear into us even if it s not true so that they have good stories to tell.
I agree with this because it has happened many times before. For example the Y2K bug which was
supposed to cause mass chaos with our computer systems never happened and the African

Tower Hill School, a private school in Wilmington, DE, has been around for nearly a hundred years.
One of Tower Hill s many traditions is Tree Trim, which has been around for 88 years. It always
occurs the week before Winter break begins. Tree Trim, a time for family and friends of all ages to
gather together and sit around a tree while singing songs, represents more than a gathering. Alice in
Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, is a Bildungsroman, meaning it is a coming of age novel. Tree Trim
parallels Alice in Wonderland when Lewis Carroll mocks institutions, more specifically the

At the same time, he also mocks many institutions such as education and government. He creates a
caucus race in the novel where a dodo holds a race to see who can dry off the fastest. This is not only
irrelevant, but it also mocks the government by stating how unorganized and immature our judicial
system is. In the beginning of the novel, Alice seems to be immature and cannot fathom the idea of
growing up when she says, shall I never get any older than I am now? That ll Be a comfort, one way
never to be an old woman but then always to have lessons to learn! Oh, I shouldn t like that (pg 45).
Alice asks herself throughout the novel who she really represents and what portrays normalcy. Alice
does not get much help from anyone along her way, however, she is able to have a conversation with a
caterpillar who sits on a mushroom. While Alice talks to the Caterpillar she says, at least I know who I
was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then (pg
55). The caterpillar gives no help to Alice and continues to ask questions to Alice until Alice comes
out with the truth: I can t explain myself you see, i m afraid, Sir because i m not myself you see (pg
55). One of the many similarities of Tree Trim and Alice in Wonderland is the fact that older people
are only around to help aid the lives of children. Even though Alice never sees why being young is
important, she learns other lessons as in when to be quiet and not to say whatever comes to mind.
Alice, who is only a little girl, seems to be too young for her own journey in the beginning due to her
immaturity, but later proves the leader wrong after she embarks on her path to

The film industry is one of the most prevalent industries in today s society and, as such, produces

Between 19995 and 2005, about 90% of films made were teenages films (Behm Morawitz and Mastro,

women because of the societal ideas around women aging. People tend to judge women more harshly

The Social Cognitive Theory is learning by observing and interacting with others. This works perfect
for my case study because children mimic what they see other children do. They also watch their older
influences and do as them. I will use this theory by setting up programs for the children along with
their families. This is targeting the obesity problem in 8 to 14 year old. I plan on implementing
programs for children s physical activity and healthy food choices. Compare and/or contrast two other
theories Theory #1 Social Network Theory The Social Theory Network has to do with people s
relationships to one another. Having a healthy social network would have a positive effect on the
people in it. My case study has to do with children who do not belong to social networks like older
individuals would. Their parents probably have a stable social network build through the years, so
their children are born into their networks until they are old enough to form their own. The Social
Network Theory and the Social Cognitive Theory both are interpersonal theories. They are influenced
by the people around them. Change occurs when behavior that is desired is reinforced. Theory #2

sustainable protections regarding the rights of its citizens. What caused the successfulness in the
development of an efficient meritocratic government in Prussia was its Rechtsstaat. Rechtsstaat ...

In addition, the kaiser could not intrude in citizens legal cases. The government was regulated and
transparent and it later developed legal limitations on arbitrary rulers. Fukuyama states, that as a result
of these policies in the Prussian government, Germany s industrialization, economy and development
increased significantly from 1871 to 1941.
Consequently, Germany surpassed Britain s industrial potential in Europe.
2) What is corruption? Why is corruption a serious problem? (Chapter 5)
Corruption is a vital obstruction to the economic growth and equality regarded in countries, especially
poor, undeveloped countries. Corruption is also regarded as officials using public resources for private
advantages. These definitions suggest that corruption occurs in modern or developing states only.
Corruption can be critical for developing countries; an example of this is where foreign aid and loans
are used for private gain by officials instead of aiding the country. Countries that are corrupt generally
have difficult problems in providing services, enforcing laws and representing the public s

Idols, The Body And Walls
Idols, the Body Walls
Kim Green
I want to first thank my church family for the support I received this summer. The texts, emails, cards
and meals were a blessing to us. The kind prayers offered, the deep visits and quick hellos were all
beautiful outpourings of love and I want to say thank you publicly.
I have not been back to Uniontown for several reasons. The past 13 years of my life have been lived
pretty publicly as pastor s wife. This summer magnified the fishbowl like no other. That has been
excruciatingly painful. I have lost much this summer I had come to love the role of pastor s wife, full
time ministry and being here. Having all of that ripped away so suddenly has been a grief on top of the
expected grief of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A favorite quote of mine by Paul David Tripp, that has become very dear to me, is that God will not
protect us from that which he will perfect us through.
And while I am not claiming by any means to have arrived at some spiritual revelation of
completeness, I do feel I have a message/testimony to share with you, my family of believers. I have
prayed about this, and asked close friends to pray over this as well. I truly come to you humbly to
share what God has been speaking to my heart in this most difficult season of my life and perhaps it
will encourage, challenge and edify you as well. I want to share with you about idols, the body and
walls.
God graciously, yes, graciously and lovingly removed an idol in my life this summer. Yes, it was a
violent shattering to pieces of an idol I did not even know I had made of my husband. God very
quickly reminded me of many instances in scripture how many times He calls for idols to be destroyed
or abandoned for HIM. I have spent much time this summer reading and studying about idolatry.
Friends, God loves us too much for our hearts to become enslaved by idols that do not satisfy and do
not deserve our affection over Him!
One day, when I was literally face down on the floor in my bedroom in a puddle of tears crying out to
God, he gently reminded me of Abraham, walking his beloved son Isaac up the mountain. Do you
know what he was supposed to do at the top of that mountain? Sacrifice the very covenant son that

Essay On The Toltec Empire
The Toltec Empire
During 750 AD in Central Mexico, The Toltec Empire emerged continuing the Mesoamerican
heritage. Their culture was inspired by the empire before them, the Olmec s. They were believed to be
the people who migrated after the collapse of Teotihuacan. The significance of their existence is
because it serves as the foundation of the Mesoamerican Civilization s culture.
The Toltec people were founded after the collapse of the city Teotihuacan. They spoke Nahuatl which
is the same language as the Aztecs. They were a militaristic aristocracy, but there is little knowledge
about the conquests that they have done because most of their artifacts were destroyed after the
collapse of their empire. These people valued skilled warfare and craftsmanship which is what the
Toltec s are mainly known for. They were believed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had a 260 day calendar with 52 year. The Toltec people were influenced by the Olmec culture
which is where their ideas mostly came from. The creation of this calendar has helped influence the
creation of the other calendars for the empires to distinguish days.
The Toltec Empire consisted mainly refugees from the northern Teotihuacan. The culture and
traditions migrated with them. After they formed their central city Tula, they thrived until their
collapse. The empire was spread across most of Mexico, Guatemala, and also south of the Yucatan
Peninsula. The Aztecs then came after them and destroyed most of their ruins to use as building
materials. All that is left of them is the legends that has been passed down from generation to
generations.
Religion was very important to the Toltec people. They were polytheistic and believed in human
sacrifice. They played a ball game where the loser would become the human sacrifice to the gods.
This sport was important to their culture and religions, and human sacrifice was also practiced by the

Team Process And Team Development
Team Process and Team Development Submitted by Your name Course title Instructor name Date of
submission University name Team Development Process in Selected Organization A team can be
defined as two or more freely interacting individuals who share collective norms and have a common
identity (Kreitner, Kinicki, Cole, 2007). The team process is an important factor which helps the team
to attain success. The team process plays three critical roles which are: converts the team s charter and
work plan into actions, influences individuals and team behaviors and helps to reveal the intent behind
behaviors (Wong, 2010). Therefore team process is an activity when team is performing tasks to attain
the team goals. For example in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The team process happens in all the stages of team development and helps the team members to
complete their tasks in an effective way (Engleberg Wynn, 2012) Five Stages of Team Development
The team development takes place in five stages. Bruce Tuckman had conducted research on various
teams and given the five stages of team development. The team process can be observed in all the five
stages of team development. The five stages of Tuckman are: 1. Forming: The forming stage of
development is a period of orientation and getting acquainted. Members break the ice and test one
another for friendship possibilities and task orientation. Uncertainty is high during this stage, and
members usually accept whatever power or authority is offered by either formal or informal leaders.
During this initial stage, members are concerned about such things as What is expected of me? What
behavior is acceptable? Will I fit in? During the forming stage, the team leader should provide time for
members to get acquainted with one another and encourage them to engage in informal social
discussions (Engleberg Wynn, 2012). 2. Storming: During the storming stage, individual personalities
emerge. People become more assertive in clarifying their roles and what is expected of them. This
stage is marked by conflict and disagreement. People may disagree over their perceptions of the team
s goals or how to achieve them. Members may jockey for position, and

The Role Of Women In The Victorian Era
When it comes to the topic of women during the Victorian Era most of us will readily agree that they
were mostly concerned with elegance, and their etiquette. Where this agreement usually ends,
however, is on the question of whether women knew what was considered high fashion or if they ever
cared for elegance to begin with. While some are convinced that the roles of the women were never
important to begin with, others believe that the roles of women were in fact a major part in history.
Many people (especially men) assume that women shouldn t be able to occupy a job that a man has or
that they shouldn t be in the real world fighting for the lives of others. Men would prefer women to
stay home and take care of the kids just as they did during the Victorian Era. For example when a
woman was asked a question or the women wanted to state their opinion their words were considered
dishonest or distrusting. First, In The Man With the Twisted lip as Mrs. St. Claire explains, Oh, you
must not discourage me, Mr. Holmes. I know that all is well with him. There is so keen sympathy
between us that I should know if evil came upon him (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 105). When Holmes
told Mrs. St. Claire that her husband was dead she refused to believe this because deep down she
believe that Mr. St. Claire was breathing among them. Also in the Boscombe valley Mystery, ...I know
that James didn t do it. I know it and I want you to start upon your work knowing it too (Sir Arthur

Competency Self Assessment
After taking the study skills test, I feel that my scores reveal that I am proficient in one category but
then satisfactory in every other one. I find that I am proficient at using Google Drive because I got a
12/12 in that category. I always keep my Google Drive organized with every document in a folder, and
sometimes another folder in that folder. For example, I have an English folder with five folders in it,
and another folder in one out of those five. I feel that I struggle with organization which is shown by
my nine out of 12 on that specific category. I always have a document or project, but occasionally it
takes me a while to find it. I could, additionally, use a calendar to always keep track of what I have on
a particular day. Improving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But I don t know any advanced technology; therefore, I need to gain experience in more advanced
technology. I feel that I have excelled at word processing. I reached level four for word processing,
which is the highest level. I can use this skill in school and for a job that I may have because I always
have to write documents for school, and probably for a job too. Technology has helped me as a student
by always have something to help me with spelling, there is always spell check and the internet to help
you. Technology has helped my life because if I ever need to talk to somebody and they are far away, I
can send them a text message or phone call. Additionally, I can always search something up if I have a
question. I struggle with spreadsheets, as seen with my level one that I got on the spreadsheets section.
Spreadsheets is very unknown to me because I have only used it once, and didn t really know what I
was doing. Using spreadsheets will help me in the future because I know many jobs use them. I know
that my older brother has to use them all the time for his job. I could use this skill for CDL because it
will be an easy way to add the cost of things up. Based on my above analysis of the technology
assessment, I would like to grow in more advanced things on the computer. I will do this by watching
tutorials and using new programs to do the

Rain Water Harvesting
RAINWATER HARVESTING
Other Information
In the present scenario management and distribution of water has become centralized. People depend
on government system, which has resulted in disruption of community participation in water
management and collapse of traditional water harvesting system.
As the water crisis continues to become severe, there is a dire need of reform in water management
system and revival of traditional systems. Scientific and technological studies needs to be carried out
to assess present status so as to suggest suitable mitigative measures for the revival to traditional

This method is less expensive and very effective and if implemented properly helps in augmenting the
ground water level of the area.
Components of the roof top rainwater harvesting system
The illustrative design of the basic components of roof top rainwater harvesting system is given in the
following typical schematic diagram/
The system mainly constitutes of following sub components:
§ Catchment
§ Transportation
§ First flush
§ Filter
The surface that receives rainfall directly is the catchment of rainwater harvesting system. It may be
terrace, courtyard, or paved or unpaved open ground. The terrace may be flat RCC/stone roof or
sloping roof. Therefore the catchment is the area, which actually contributes rainwater to the
harvesting system.
Transportation
Rainwater from rooftop should be carried through down take water pipes or drains to
storage/harvesting system. Water pipes should be UV resistant (ISI HDPE/PVC pipes) of required
capacity. Water from sloping roofs could be caught through gutters and down take pipe. At terraces,
mouth of the each drain should have wire mesh to restrict floating material.
First Flush
First flush is a device used to flush off the water received in first shower. The first shower of rains
needs to be flushed off to avoid contaminating storable/rechargeable water by the probable
contaminants of the atmosphere and the catchment roof. It

Greek Virtues
The ancient Greeks had a philosophy when it came to behavior and showing high moral standards in
their society. Two Greek philosophers known as Plato and Aristotle compiled virtues that were valued
in the Greek society. These virtues began with Plato s original four which included wisdom, courage,
moderation, and justice. Later Aristotle would add an additional twelve virtues which two courage and
justice were already part of the original four, these were temperance, liberality, magnificence, pride,
honor, good temper, friendliness, truthfulness, wit, and friendship. Combined Ancient Greeks had a
total of 14 virtues. It is apparent that these virtues were very important to Ancient Greeks since they
are seen in the poems and stories told throughout

At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social media can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011). Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic research has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is a continued need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to social media and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly, our study investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage online with brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written diary to fifty eight individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured background information on social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent interactions across two primary social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email. Email interactions were included in the study because this form of contact is part of the electronic ecosystem connecting consumers and businesses and is complementary to social media usage. Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First, we uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer

  • 4. What Are The Four Types Of Innovation Radical,... Discussion Question 7.2 Describe a firm you think has been highly innovative. Which of the four types of innovation radical, incremental, disruptive, or architectural did it use? Did the firm use different types over time? Chipotle is the leader in the fast casual market, with over 1,900 locations, $3.21 billion in annual revenue, and the ability to serve up to 300 customers an hour. It has innovated the restaurant market by providing reasonably priced scratch made meals, containing local ingredients, all within the confines of a pleasing aesthetic environment (Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc., 2014; Kaplan, 2011). To reach its success, the firm utilized architectural innovation by stealing components of various types of restaurants already in existence. The company appropriated its rapid meal preparation methods from fast food chains such Subway and Quiznos, adopted its provision of quality food from more upscale casual Mexican restaurants, and implemented a locally based supply chain similar to that seen at many local farm to table establishments. This convergence of different properties came together right as the millennial generation was coming of age and demand higher quality, natural, and locally sourced ingredients in meals that could receive quickly. The company has also attempted to utilize an incremental innovation approach by removing all CMO ingredients and testing new foods such as breakfast items, soup, and chorizo sausage (The Associated Press, 2015; Peterson, ... Effects Of Decolonization Of Burma Alexey Skyban (14201708) Intro International Politics 13 October 2014 Unwillingness to do what is Right Decolonization after 1945 undoubtedly caused more harm than good. Inevitably, colonized countries across the globe would have eventually requested sovereignty. Today, many decolonized countries are beginning to prosper and flourish; however, their path to such a state was long and challenging. The fluke in decolonization was not that it happened, but the way it did. Only concerned with self interest and prosperity domestically, European Empires were blinded to the consequences of abandoning their colonies without any guidance or support. Poor decolonization of Burma resulted in widespread oppression, downfall of the economy, and violation of human rights. Britain left Burma with a very weak government unable to control its own country. As a result, the democratic government was overthrown and a ruthless tyrant rose to power. Woodstock was one of the most historic events of the 60 s. Woodstock was a large event in the 1960 s that had both positive and negative events. At the festival many musicians that we call legends today performed at this festival and the ones who turned it down not knowing how big it was going to turn out sooner regretted it. The festival became so popular it led the modern generation to create events similar to it. Woodstock only was supposed to be a maximum of 150,000 people but over half a million showed up. And by the end of the three day event, thousands of people left with a greater aspect and viewpoint on life. Woodstock was originally supposed to be held in the small town of Woodstock,New York and it was supposed to be a recording studio because in the late 60 s many people from all over moves there to become musicians. For the studio to get built, a music festival was going to be held, and the ticket sells, we re going to go towards building the Woodstock studio (Perone,23) . Since the city of Woodstock denied their permission the great festival was held at the Max Lasgurs dairy farm in Bethel,New York on August 15 17, 1969, the farm was 600 acres of land. • 10. Assess The Impact Of Transnational Cinema Being an island nation makes us a trading nation, which is an obvious connection between borders. How we trade with each other allows for transnational cinema to be present and is the basis for an understanding, which connects people across geographical borders. Following the recent European referendum it is relevant to mention how this will affect the UK s film industry regarding trade. The MEDIA Scheme/Creative Europe funding will be stopped, co productions with different countries will be harder to achieve in the short term, British/European co productions may need new legislation, and fewer UK films will be shown in European cinemas as well as many other negative outcomes (Follows, 2016). However this shows how much transnationalism affects UK trade, company distribution and future films success as well as the impact which politics has upon the film industry. This shows how not only cast/crewmembers nationalities, the location and the storyline matters in transnational cinema, but the trade and distribution after the film is made all enhance the transnationality of the piece. Interestingly, it seems when discussing terrorism in cinema, filmmakers more often than not make films about terrorism that has happened in their own country. Hollywood cinema noticeably has an absence of terrorism, whereas European films in contrast have far more. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 11. Impact Of Technology Impacts of Technology Andrew S. Grove, a well known author and engineer, acknowledged, In technology, whatever can be done, will be done ( Technology Quotes and Sayings ). Technology is extremely beneficial and makes students lives easier all around the world. Some researchers have made an argument that technology causes students to think shorter; however, technology engages students and entices them to learn more efficiently with ease. Technology helps students expand their knowledge by intently keeping them engaged; quickly finding resources, connecting them with others, and giving them confidence in their work. Technology engages students, allowing them to remember information and indulge in their studies. Students are more likely to retain information and become more open to opportunities when they are engaged in their studies. Arthur H. Rotstein verifies in an environment without textbooks, School officials believe the electronic materials will get students more engaged in learning (Rotstein). There is definitely controversy when talking about this quote. Many researchers believe that technology is a huge distraction in the classroom, which can be true but not always the case. Lack of interest is a huge part of kids not remembering what happened in class or what the teacher was talking about, and technology can change that by alluring their attention. Books and paper can seem like a bore to students; simply put, an outdated resource that they do not want to take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This level considers equally real all universes that can be defined by mathematical structures. This also includes those having physical laws different from our observable universe. Tegmark writes that abstract mathematics is so general that any Theory Of Everything (TOE) that is definable in purely formal terms (independent of vague human terminology) is also a mathematical structure. For instance, a TOE involving a set of different types of entities (denoted by words, say) and relations between them (denoted by additional words) is nothing but what mathematicians call a set theoretical model, and one can generally find a formal system that it is a model of. He argues this implies that any conceivable parallel universe theory can be described at Level IV and subsumes all other ensembles, therefore brings closure to the hierarchy of multiverses, and there cannot be say a Level V. Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s Film Branagh s adaptation of Mary Shelly s novel was fairly good with significant changes to Shelly s text; however this was done to illuminate what he considers to be the major themes of the novel, eg the dangers of the relentless pursuit of science and Victor s relationships. Victors love interest with Elizabeth in the film is much more intense compared to what is described in the novel as communication is mostly through letters, whereas in the film Branagh has Elizabeth follow him left, right and centre, she even comes to his sick bed after the creation. As in Shelley s novel victors reaction is the beauty of the dream vanished and disgust filled my heart , but Branaghs film attempts to address why he abandons the monster and also how close Victor was to his family. Branagh showed the misery of the monster, especially when it was rejected by the De Lacy family but I think Branagh was very much one sided on where our sympathies should lie and this was clearly directed towards Victor, this maybe because Branagh is the director as well as Victor. I think Branagh should have portrayed one aspect of the book in more detail and that is the eloquence of the creature. Having Clerval stay alive also seems to serve a purpose, this meant they Victors conscience was there to observe what he did to Elizabeth. Also having Justine killed in that manner made it seem more painful for Victor as he did not even have a court case as an attempt to save her innocent life. During the centuries, the papacy suffered a major decline in authority due to several events and movements. In the perspective of the people, they didn t believe in the Pope to make wise and crucial decisions for Rome. Things came to an end when King Philip IV made a powerful order of denouncing the Pope. • 18. Importance Of National Self-Determination In Africa In African contexts, an emphasis was given to the fact that national self determination meant self determination of the people against the colonial landlords. The nation didn t oppose so much another nation as it did the colonial autocratic ruler (xxx, xxx). But what seems more important is the fact that when the colonial power finally realized the need to prepare their colonies for self government, they did so within the framework established by the colonial state (xxx, xxx). The colonial state thus became equated not only with its physical attributes (territory and population) but also with its bureaucracy, the nervous center from which stemmed ail decisions affecting the country (xxx, xxx). National self determination also found its ultimate expression, not in continental Pan Africanism or broader regional units, but in the states, Africans inherited from the colonial powers (xxx, xxx). The first indications that pan Africanism had been overruled by the nationalism of individual states came during the first assembly of African independent states held in Accra in 1958. It was then that Kwame Nkrumah, who ironically until then had led the movement towards Pan Africanism, expressed the need to respect the independence, the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of the newly created states in the interests of peace (xxx, xxx). Friedan describes an ideal that middle class women of the 1960s were held to. She highlights that women were chained to kitchens and their spouses and children, while their dreams of careers and college degrees were suppressed. These women had goals and dreams, and they wanted more, but as Friedan describes, it was nearly impossible to break through the feminine mystique. • 24. How Does King Lear s Play Relate To Shakespeare Fatima Mossolem In Samuel Johnson s essay Preface to Shakespeare he asserts that Shakespeare s writing is a mirror of manners and of life, which in laymans terms means that Shakespeare writes the truth about life, even when it is seen as unpleasant. This proves to be true even today, over a hundred years since King Lear was written. One of the meanings of the work as a whole in King Lear is that loyalty doesn t always have to be born of blood. We see this mostly with Kent, Lear s faithful servant, who stayed by Lear s side no matter the situation. Nature is also another meaning of the work as a whole. When related to Kent the question of nature is whether or not he is loyal to his king, and without compare he is. In my life now I have found that the best of friends will be more loyal and kind to you then the closest of families, proving that the stories and characters Shakespeare created can be paralleled in the modern world. Although one could claim that the events that occur in Shakespeare s plays are nothing more than fiction, it is obvious from both the characters and the plot that Shakespeare s work The first words Kent spoke in this play were Good my liege (pg 15). The first time Kent is seen in the play he is trying to convince Lear to rethink his decision about banishing Cordelia. Lear takes this as a challenge and of course banishes Kent as well. The Arab League Secretary Azzam Pasha said this statement on September 16, 1947, eight months before the state of Israel was established. Even though a cease fire was in effect, the war continued as Arabs closed the Suez Canal to Israel shipping and Israel (in retaliation) did not allow the 700,000 Arab refugees return to their homes (Regan 22). This inability to find a home land for the people now called Palestinians would lead to many of Israel s conflicts with the Arab world. The Arabs did not want their Palestinian brothers in their countries but, for some reason, Israel, the Jewish State, was supposed to take them in even though it had the best reason not to. Was Israel, which had just won the war, now supposed to take back their enemies? Of course not. From 1949 to 1956, there was no peace in Israel, because Egypt continued attacking Israel from one side while Syria continued attacking from the other. Unique, the one word that could be used to describe the details and importance of his life. Unlike his predecessors that came before him, what sets him apart has to be how he rose to power and how he used that power. And even though he only lived until the age of 33, he accomplished what those that came before him failed to do so. The topics to be discussed are how he rose to power and what he managed to accomplish through military strategies and his cultural influence on the Persian Empire. In order to actually understand how Alexander the Great came to power, we must first explore into his background. He was born around 356 B.C.E in July within the capital city of Macedonia. When he was just a small child, he spent his time observing his father, Phillip the II, who during that time was the current leader of Macedonia. His father was a force to be reckoned with, and scholars like to link this to Alexander s future success within the empire. Along with watching his father, little Alexander at the age of 13, eventually gained a very smart and intelligent tutor by the name of Aristotle. Of which, was a very successful philosopher that taught him literature and rhetoric. It would later serve a purpose in increasing Alexander s interest in many subjects such as science, medicine and philosophy. I agree with that because if you pay attention to society that s how it is. On the day Columbine occurred the US also dropped the record number of bombs on Kosovo in the war, but when people go to pinpoint the blame to say why Eric and Dylan shot up Columbine nobody ever blamed it on the president. 8) Parents don t realize that it s harder for kids in school today than it was when they attended school back in the day. I agree with this because there is a lot more bullying in today s day in age than there was way back when. Also kids take it more personally which messes with their self esteem quite a bit. 9) The US is so gun happy and has as many murders as it does because the media is continuously pumping fear into us even if it s not true so that they have good stories to tell.

God very quickly reminded me of many instances in scripture how many times He calls for idols to be destroyed or abandoned for HIM. I have spent much time this summer reading and studying about idolatry. Friends, God loves us too much for our hearts to become enslaved by idols that do not satisfy and do not deserve our affection over Him! One day, when I was literally face down on the floor in my bedroom in a puddle of tears crying out to God, he gently reminded me of Abraham, walking his beloved son Isaac up the mountain. Bruce Tuckman had conducted research on various teams and given the five stages of team development. The team process can be observed in all the five stages of team development. The five stages of Tuckman are: 1. Forming: The forming stage of development is a period of orientation and getting acquainted. Members break the ice and test one another for friendship possibilities and task orientation. Uncertainty is high during this stage, and members usually accept whatever power or authority is offered by either formal or informal leaders. During this initial stage, members are concerned about such things as What is expected of me? What behavior is acceptable? Will I fit in? During the forming stage, the team leader should provide time for members to get acquainted with one another and encourage them to engage in informal social discussions (Engleberg Wynn, 2012). 2. Storming: During the storming stage, individual personalities emerge. People become more assertive in clarifying their roles and what is expected of them. This stage is marked by conflict and disagreement. People may disagree over their perceptions of the team s goals or how to achieve them. Members may jockey for position, and ... The Role Of Women In The Victorian Era When it comes to the topic of women during the Victorian Era most of us will readily agree that they were mostly concerned with elegance, and their etiquette. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of whether women knew what was considered high fashion or if they ever cared for elegance to begin with. While some are convinced that the roles of the women were never important to begin with, others believe that the roles of women were in fact a major part in history. Many people (especially men) assume that women shouldn t be able to occupy a job that a man has or that they shouldn t be in the real world fighting for the lives of others. Men would prefer women to stay home and take care of the kids just as they did during the Victorian Era. For example when a woman was asked a question or the women wanted to state their opinion their words were considered dishonest or distrusting.
