Second-Degree Assault In Colorado
Sometimes, people in Colorado may get into arguments that become physical. Those who are involved
in physical altercations with others may be charged with assault, which is a serious criminal offense.
State law establishes three types of assault offenses of varying severities third degree, second degree
and first degree.
Assault in the third degree is the least severe of the assault variations. This type of assault occurs when
people recklessly or knowingly cause injury to others. Accidently or negligently injuring a person with
a deadly weapon also constitutes third degree assault, according to the Boulder County Bar
Association.
There are a number of actions, which may be considered second degree assault under Colorado state
law. Intentionally

Public Private Partnerships in India
PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN INDIA
Public Private Partnership or PPP is a subject being given the increasing attention that it has been
receiving in context of the sweeping changes in India s economic policies. We are all aware, along
with the dismantling of the license permit raj a greater role is envisaged for the private sector in these
new policies. Now it seems that, the private sector is not only to be facilitated in its growth, but there
it can be taken on board as a partner by the government in the provision of public services. This of
course, is the purpose of PPP. For those of us who have had a long innings in Government, such
thinking represents a paradigm shift from the way things were always done. I am aware of the fact ...

The key words seem to be rewards and risks.
Having said this, I may state that this scenario gives rise to a host of issues to the mind of a practical
administrator. Some of them would be on these lines:
• Firstly, when should a public project opt for PPP? Does the project lend itself to the model, or
indeed justify sharing of the rewards with the private sector. The U.K. was one of the first countries to
go into partnership with the private sector for providing public services. They have been fairly
successful in this respect. One of their PPP models is called the Public Finance Initiative (PFI),
wherein the government contracts to purchase services on a long term basis from a private provider,
who may build, maintain and operate infrastructure. The costs may be met from user charges, along
with state subsidies, which are a form of viability gap funding . However while implementing the PFI
program, the U.K. government had issued guidelines on the types of projects that needed to be taken
up under it. These guidelines stated that PFI is appropriate where there are major and complex capital
projects with significant and ongoing maintenance requirements. Here the private sector can offer
project management skills, more innovative design and risk management expertise that can bring
substantial benefits. In other words it is clear that PPP can be

A Report On Google s Driverless Car
Google s driverless car; are they the future, technologies most recent trumpet, world s next thing or the
latest catastrophe, next failure, biggest let down yet? Google has produce multiple products over the
years that were successful and some that lack success. The latest product their trying to liftoff is the
Google Car. A driverless car that can rely on their sensors and software to drive themselves. The idea
of a car that drives without a driver is by far interesting, but is it good to have a person life in the
hands of a machine. Some people thinks this plan is a dead end: Ian Pearson, a futurologist, says What
Google is proposing is obsolete, Pearson, who is also a fellow at the World Academy for Arts and
Science, said. It doesn t exist yet, but there isn t any point in going through that phase. There are two
Italian researchers are looking to release self driving pods. The pods, called Next, they re driverless
boxes that will take you anywhere. But even the Next pods fall short of what Pearson foresees. For
one, Next is a public transportation system that is controlled by a third party. The pods will pick you
up after you request one through an app. (Muoio) So, there other things that are similar to driverless
car that are surfacing around the world. Not just driverless cars; but the concept that a computer
having to make so many complex choices is unsettling to some people. There are obstacles that these
mindful machines have to overcome to gain majority of

The War Of Camp Lewis
Prepare for war! That is what you hear and your heart stops while your jaw opens and you gasp for air
that is not there. While the history and establishment of Camp Lewis is not as important as preparing
for war, it is important to know the past in order to help posture and mold the future of tomorrow. The
idea for Camp Lewis was fought for by the civilian populace of Pierce County in Washington State.
Late in1916, as war continued to escalate in Europe, a private group of concerned citizens gathered at
American Lake to organize a training program designed for civilian personnel. The program was
designed to encourage readiness among the community in preparation for the possibility of going to
war in Europe. One of the attending civilians was a cadet named Stephen Appleby. Mr. Appleby (a
former Captain in the Minnesota National Guard) was vice president of the Northwest Business Men s
Preparedness League and a bank cashier for Tacoma Washington. He was informed that the Army was
sending out a survey team to the Northwest in search of establishing an Army Post. Mr. Appleby
contacted the commander of the survey team and asked him to make a site visit of the camp that the
community had established as possibility of use for the Army. Captain Richard Parks (Army survey
team commander) visited Pierce County as requested and found it to be impressive. Major General J.
Franklin Bell visited the area after hearing the recommendation of the site from

Poverty in the United Kingdom
Poverty is often associated with Third World countries, where the outcome of such poverty is often
death from disease or starvation. However this is the extremes of poverty, and is rarely experienced
within the UK. Despite this poverty still takes place within the UK just at a lesser extent, however this
does not take away from the devastating effects that poverty can have. This poverty can be attributed
to having less money and lower living standards than others of the same society (European Anti
Poverty Network, 2009). Child poverty is a direct result of adult poverty (Poverties.org, 2011 2012)
however unlike and adult, the experience of poverty for a child can effect later life drastically. In April
2011, there were 13 million people in the UK living below the poverty line, this included 3.6 million
children (Department for Work and Pensions, 2011), and these numbers are expected to rise further
(Child Poverty action Group, 2000 2012). This type of poverty does not discriminate, it is a direct
result of inadequate resources.
Unfortunately children themselves are a major contributing factor to their own poverty, as when a
child is born a family s income must spread further, at a time when income is short. Throughout this
time parents are faced with the difficult decision of returning to work in order to improve income.
However some families shall be supported by the welfare system however the current system of
increasing benefits by inflation is causing a relative drop in

Coming To America Passage Analysis
Welcoming. Belonging. Sense of Purpose. Everyone wants that. Without it we feel naked, incomplete.
Ultimately, it is what mankind really strives for. While food, water, and shelter are important, there is
no purpose to life without that sense of belonging. Kao and her family never really felt belonged
anywhere, and they struggled to feel a sense of purpose in their home .
My favorite passage in the book, is when Kao is telling her story of her adjustment of coming to
America. This passage is part of the third section of the book, The American Years. In the section, Kao
and her family had just arrived in their new tiny home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While they had
training of what to expect from America, it did not prepare them well enough for what was to come.
Their arrival was anything but welcoming as they were greeted with ... Show more content on

In the passage, Kao says, For the first year and a half, we wanted to be invisible (112). This is my
favorite passage because it is really jaw dropping to see that after all Kao and her family had been
through they wanted to stay invisible in America for the first year and a half that they were afraid of
being who they are, Hmong. Back in their old home they were accustomed to frequent bombings,
disease, malnourishment, and so much physical pain. But here, their biggest fear being in the US is the
hatred and racism that is targeted on them. Day after day it s a struggle for Kao s family. For many
immigrants, America has always been projected as the Golden Gate . A place where one would no
longer struggle for their family and if you worked hard enough one can accomplish anything.
Malnourishment, clean air, and safety would no longer keep you up at night. And at the start of Kao s
American journey, it was hard to see if any positive opportunity would arise. But it would, as they
didn t let the hard work or racism get to them. Kao s parents would

What Are The Advantages And Weaknesses Of The Minimum Cash...
You Make the Call
Swimming pool small business:
1 What are the advantages and weakness of the minimum cash balance practice?
Using a minimum cash balance approach is a safe way for a business to make sure that it always has a
cash balance in reserve. It guarantees that the business will always have a certain amount of cash asset
to fall back on. This is a very limiting and unrealistic approach to managing a business working
capital though. Cash is just one component of working capital. A business could be flush with cash but
have liabilities that exceed that balance and have a negative working capital balance. A good business
needs to think beyond a mental cash framework and think broader to include other ramifications to the
overall profitability and balance sheet stability.
2 There is a saying, if it isn t broke, don t fix it . In view of the firm s present success in paying bills
promptly, should it be encouraged to use a cash budget? Be prepared to support your answer.
The business has been profitable but has it managed its resources as well as it could have? That is the
real question here. While the business feels that it has done well and paid its bills timely doesn t mean
that that the way it handles things can t be improved upon. Incorporating some planning and a possible
use of a cash budget might allow the owner to have a better understanding of where and how the
resources of the company are being used and where they might be put to a better use given better

Examples Of Creon A Foil In Antigone
Mask Essay
In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon is a foil to Antigone. A foil is when one character contrasts
with another character. Antigone and Creon are complete opposites (besides them both being very
stubborn). Antigone is very loyal to her family, and buries Polyneices even though she knew she
would be punished. Antigone is also very independent. She stood for what she believed in on her own,
while those around her were too scared. Creon has no loyalty to his family, and refuses to honor
Polyneices because he sees him as a traitor. He also revolves around power and believes his laws
comes over God s laws. Creon suffers from too much pride. Antigone and Creon come in contrast with
each other, therefore this is a foil relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This mask is full of pastel colors, flowers, and words that represented her perfectly. When I picture
Antigone, these characteristics come to my mind. The flowers and pastel colors represent her
innocence and how she is a bloom of Oedipus. Antigone was so loyal and devoted to her brother that
she died for him. She was brave, for she stood up too Creon even though no one stood behind her.
Antigone was kind, and she put herself before others. Antigone is a wonderful character to look up to,
for she symbolizes bravery, loyalty, and kindness. My contrasting mask was Creon. This masks
opposes Antigone´s, and is full of darker colors, scary features, and words with a negative
connotation. The dark colors are for his control, and love for power. Creon´s picture in my mind is a
very scary person, therefore skulls and fire were included on this mask. Words such as control and
power were added as well. Creon had all the wrong ideas about ruling a kingdom, for he was
controlling and

The Rise Of The Prefabricated Tower Block
To understand the rise of the prefabricated tower block it is important to recognize that their existence
came about as a reaction to contemporary architecture which was codified at the state level. During
and after the Second World War, Soviet Realism became the dominant force in urban architecture in
the Soviet sphere, especially as Moscow installed puppet states throughout the Eastern Bloc which
copied the policies of the USSR. This development was not accepted well by architects and
intellectuals, especially in Germany, where the legacy of pre war modernism was very obvious in
cities like Berlin, but also in cities like Moscow, Prague, and Sofia where the classicism endorsed by
Stalin was like going back a century. Stalin s preference for a building style highlighting the power of
the Soviet people resulted in a complete stagnation of other forms or architecture, and although very
solidly built, his buildings were built on mostly important thoroughfares as prestige projects since the
state could hardly pay for every building to fit this style, making its impact on most citizens negligible
unless they were privileged enough to get an apartment in one of these buildings. So, rather than to
further soviet goals of housing for all, these buildings made social stratification very obvious, as
homeless laborers would walk down streets past new buildings with ornate stonework in which they
had little hope of ever stepping inside, let alone living. In terms of interior program,

Character Sketch Of Celie
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Character sketch of Celie
Alice Walker was greatly influenced by the time period of the 1940 s. There was much racism and
oppression during that time, especially for black women. Women were beaten and abused simply
because of their colour and gender. It is one of the most groundbreaking novel of hers set mainly in
rural Georgia in 1930s. The book tells the story about a young African American woman named Celie
and her struggle for empowerment in the world marked by racism, sexism and patriarchy. Alice
Walker created a unique voice of her protagonist Celia.

personality are strength and endurance, the ability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She endures so much of hardship in spite of that she never breaks down . She continues to fight. Celie
is at the bottom of the social hierarchy in the South because she is poor, she is black, and she is
female. As a female she is abused by her father and by her husband, for she lives in a patriarchal social
system that does not value a female except as a sexual object and a labourer. From early in the novel,
Celie looks for ways to stand up for this unfair system. It is Shug who teaches her about her own self
worth, making her believe in herself. As a result, she finally leaves Albert, her abusive husband, and
goes with Shug to make a life of her own. By the end of the novel, she has built a successful business,
largely because she never gave in to the reality of her life, but searched for the truth beyond it.

Essay On Satyam Scandal
RECOMMENDATION
The 2009 Satyam scandal in India has highlighted the shameful potential of an improperly governed
corporate leader. Some recommendations can be made from the mistakes learnt from the scandal to
further avoid such mishaps. First, all inaccuracies are to be investigated as a lot of fraud schemes
initially start out small, with the thought that small changes here and there would not make a big
difference, and is less likely to be detected. The fraud scheme at Satyam started very small that
eventually grew into $276 million. Second, Corporate Governance needs to be Stronger as a Fraud of
such a kind does not only look bad on a company; it also ruins the reputation of the whole industry
and the country. India has been adopting Corporate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The culture at Satyam, especially dominated by the board, represented an unethical culture. Satyam
was brought to its knee due to tunneling effect unlike Enron, which sank due to agency problem. All
kind of frauds have proven that there is a need for good conduct based on strong ethics. The debacle of
Satyam raised a debate about the role of CEO in driving an organization to the heights of success and
its relationship with the board members and ore committees. The fraud at Satyam brought to the light
the role of CG in influencing the protocols related to the working of audit committee and duties of
board members (Niazi, and Ali, 2015). The government of India took very quick actions to protect the
interest of the investors of Satyam, the nation s image across the world and, safeguard the credibility
of India. Moreover, Satyam fraud has forced the government to re‐write the CG rules and tightened
the norms for auditors and accountants (Bhasin, 2013b). The Indian affiliate of PwC ―routinely failed
to follow the most basic audit procedures. The SEC and the PCAOB fined the affiliate, PwC India,
$7.5 million in what was described as the largest American penalty ever against a foreign accounting
firm (Norris, 2011). According to Mr. Chopra, President (ICAI), ―The Satyam fraud was not an
auditing or accounting failure, but one of CG. This apex body had found the two PwC auditors prima
facie guilty of professional misconduct. The CBI, which investigated the Satyam fraud case, also
charged the two auditors with complicity in the commission of the fraud by consciously overlooking
the accounting irregularities. The Satyam fraud, finally, had to end and the implications were having
far reaching consequences. With all the 10 people involved in the multi crore accounting fraud found

Roman Republic And The Instigation Of The Roman Empire
Born in 100 BC by most accounts, Julius Caesar was a key figure in the Roman Republic and the
instigation of the Roman Empire. By this time, Rome was the largest city in the world, with almost
half a million citizens residing in its walls (Goldsworthy 19). Caesar s birth was claimed to be a
Caesarian section, a birth considered to be a bad omen in Ancient Rome. He was the only son in his
family, which gave him the responsibility of carrying out the family line, raising a new and more
powerful generation. This position of power was handed to him quite soon, at the age of sixteen, when
his father collapsed and died. He would soon after marry Cornelia, the daughter of Cinna, one the
most powerful men in Rome at the time after serving on consul for four consecutive years (49). Caesar
began a military service years later, which was considered a beginning to his career in the public eye.
He won consulship in Rome for the year 75 BC and, being a master orator, gave an impressive speech
that made the crowd remember his reputation (72 73). In 70 BC, Caesar, age thirty, had been married
for fifteen years to Cornelia. They had a daughter, Julia, but no male heir and no desire to have
another child. He adopted Augustus Caesar, his great nephew, to compensate for the problem. In late
70 BC, he was also elected as one of the twenty of the quaestors, the public officials who supervised
financial affairs and audits (96 97). Perhaps years later, Caesar s history would become dominated

Importance Of Social Norms
Norms are regarded as important rules and expectations set by the society as their way of not only
organizing a group but more importantly as their way of maintaining order. More often than not, these
rules and expectations are implicitly dictated by the society and are valued as a standard how an
individual should behave. At times, expected behaviors are explicitly set by the group. Although the
reason behind the emergence and existence of norms are unclear, what is certain is that these norms
are seen as important. Thus, breaking it or deviating from the social standards are often frowned upon
and even condemned by the society.
Laws are not sufficient enough to keep a society at peace. The two types of norms that exist are formal

The overarching theme had to do with making college kids feel uncomfortable with prolonged eye
contact, no eye contact at all, getting a little too close for comfort, not dancing or joining in socially
with friends when expected to do so, eating a nice dinner with hands, and many strange elevator
escapades. Along with similarities, there were also differences that stood out to me. These differences
include wearing clothing that is not considered appropriate or looks strange to the general public; For
example, wearing a dress shirt and tie to the gym or arriving in a costume to lecture. Another student
discussed how her shaved head threw multiple people off, and how many people in America,
especially in the Mid Western states, do not expect to see a woman with no hair unless she is sick or is

me to see both men and women be judged by the way they style their hair or the clothing they wear.
America has held such strict gender roles, like creating toys specifically for girls (dolls) and boys
(trucks), to literally gendering products like pens and boxes of tissues because of the color. I am

San José De Moro s Social Responsibility
1. Introduction of research question (500 words)
The territory in which the country of Peru is now located has been uninterruptedly occupied for
thousands of years. This continuous human settlement in the area has left us with a vast number of
archaeological sites, historic buildings and religious structures. The large number of sites in addition
to the large artifact collections that can be found in the Peruvian museums creates an almost
insurmountable labor for the federal, provincial and local governments, as well as the professionals
involved in the various aspects of the preservation of these materials.
Despite the richness in its cultural heritage, 9.7% of Peru s 30,973,000 population lives in poverty
(Poverty headcount ratio at 2 PPP$ a day). This fact, coupled with the lack of supervision and/or
protection of archaeological and historic sites has exposed Peru s cultural heritage to looting and

Through the study and review of two specific aspects of San José de Moro s social responsibility plan:

preservation of the site, the local community must be treated as an equal stakeholder and decision

Odd Girl Out
On average 77 percent of students are bullied mentally, verbally, and physically in the United States.
Odd Girl Out by Rachel Simmons brings to light the hidden culture of aggression in girls. Throughout
the novel, Rachel goes over every aspect of female bullying. She includes first person accounts with
high school and middle school students and some of the pressures from classmates, friends, parents
and teachers, and themselves. Every novel has its strengths and weaknesses. In Odd Girl Out, Rachel
Simmons does a nice job bringing to light a subject that is not explored very often, however there is
still so much we don t know and it is very hard to stop this activity from happening.

E Commerce ( Electronic Commerce Or Ec )
E commerce (Electronic Commerce or EC) is the purchasing and offering of merchandise and

purchaser or shopper to business. The terms e trade and e business are frequently utilized reciprocally.
The term e tail is additionally in some cases utilized as a part of reference to value based procedures
around online retail. E business is led utilizing a mixed bag of utilizations, for example, email, fax,

to utilize email and fax for spontaneous promotions (normally saw as spam) to buyers and different

Compare And Contrast Hovanness Toumanian Genocide And...
For centuries throughout their cultural history, the Armenian people have been maltreated; however in
this essay, I ll focus solely on the period from 1850 1915, which is just before the occurrence of the
Armenian genocide. The historic Armenian homelands were controlled by two empires called the
Ottoman Empire and the Russian Empire. The Ottoman Empire which controlled Western Armenia,
was home of the Turkish people, whereas the Russian Empire which controlled Eastern Armenia was
ruled by the Russians. As a result, the Western portion of Armenia was divided into six vilayets called
Van, Bitlis, Diyarbakir, Kharpert, Sivas, and Erzurum, while the remnants of Eastern Armenia was
divided into Kars and Yerevan. In account of the factors that led to this disheartening division of the
Armenians fatherland, expatriatism emerged and can be personified through Armenian works of art
such as that of Vahan Tekeyan and Hovanness Toumanian s writings. In this essay, I will compare
Eastern Armenia versus Western Armenia through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mountains, those blood stained mountains. Yet our caravan confused, terrified, plundered, massacred,
and torn asunder, ever bears its innumerable wounds, in the Armenian Mountains, those mourning

Soviet Union and Russian Empire who came to battle the Armenians and conquer the remaining
Eastern division of their native land. The author educates the audience by using symbolism to portray
how the Armenians were caught off guard, left for dead, and as a result their people were being forced
to comply with the newly enforced Russian

Television, A Modern Media Essay
Television, a telecommunication medium some may not survive without. Today s generation may refer
to television as a technological norm; delusional of a world where television was non existent.
Notably, television unites the nation through local or world events, politics, education, and
entertainment. Philo Farnsworth, Father of Television, invented the television; the electronic
transmission of fixed or mobile images. Furthermore, Farnsworth s invention influenced a new form
of media. Young Farnsworth s scientific, technological imagination as well as, competitive battle with
a major league corporation, RCA, enticed the growth of one of the most popular media mediums;
television.
One illustrious instrument that advanced media configuration is Farnsworth s ambitious background.
Philo Farnsworth, innovator at heart, was born August 19, 1906 in Beaver, Utah. Young Farnsworth
grew up on a farmhouse in Rigby, Idaho. While tending to daily agricultural responsibilities on the
farm, Farnsworth fantasized about conveying images through electrical power. He said he had realized
seven years earlier, while plowing a field on his family s farm, that an image could be scanned onto a
picture tube row by row ( Elma Gardner Farnsworth, 98; Helped Husband Develop TV, 2006).
Likewise, Farnsworth created electrical improvements to household appliances which became a
favored pastime. According to Godfrey (2004), By age 12, Philo was repairing the electric machinery

Reflection On Competency
I am very confident with the course competencies. Over the past few months while working in the
classroom that I have been working in for the past three years I really focused on the competencies
and evaluating myself and how I could better these skills. At the beginning of the semester I rated
myself at a 90 percent for my confidence in the competencies, now I would rate myself at a 100
percent. Not only did I evaluate myself, I was constantly asking the lead teacher in my classroom how
I was doing with the competencies. This really helped me zero in on the skills and think about ways
that I could use the different skills, change how I did some things, and continue to do the skills that I
was already strong at. When I started off the semester I found that my weakness was doing full
observations. I would find myself making short quick notes and then I would have a hard time getting
a full observation. I decided that I was going to focus on getting better at observations I did. When
making observations about children s behavior or their skills I would write the short notes that had the
information that I needed, then I would write the observation out that same day in a longer format. I
did it the same day so that I could remembers everything that was going on or exactly what happened.
This was very helpful for me to create a full observation. Another competency that I worked on over
the semester more than others was using a wide range of positive guidance approaches to

Descriptive Essay On Christmas
Christmas Eve Lasagna In our house lasagna is a dish made for special occasions, my mom is the only
one that makes it. Every year, before my grandfather passed away, my mom would make lasagna for
my brother, father, grandfather, and I. When I was in elementary school my grandfather and
grandmother got divorced, they couldn t even be in the same room together. Therefore, in order to be
able to spend time with both of them during the holidays we would need to have two of each holiday.
Christmas Eve is when we would have Christmas with my grandfather. Lasagna isn t just my favorite
meal because it tastes good, it is the memories of my grandfather s strength and fight that are
associated with it that makes the meal special. People often said that wherever my grandfather went he
always made new friends or enemies. This explains his personality perfectly, he always made an
everlasting impression, not afraid to voice his opinions. When I was around him he was always telling
stories about his days of playing minor league baseball under the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota
Twins organizations or his days of being a K9 trooper for the New Hampshire State Police. He was
someone that I admired and loved being around. Some of the best memories are the ones where we are
sitting around the table on Christmas Eve eating our lasagna and munching on some garlic bread.
Everything changed when he became sick, but he was a fighter. My grandfather wasn t going to let the

of some 16,000 software programs.
Quickly setting the standard in personal computers, the Apple II had earnings of
$139,000,000 within three years, a growth of 700 percent. Impressed with that growth, and a trend
indicating an additional worth of 35 to 40 percent, the cautious underwriting firm of Hambrecht Quist
in cooperation with Wall

An Analysis Of Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
An Analysis of Chaucer s Miller in the Canterbury Tales Many characters in Geoffrey Chaucer s
Canterbury Tales link to the different social classes in England during the Medieval Period. The Miller
is a crude character who tells an entertaining, yet inappropriate tale on a pilgrimage to Canterbury
Cathedral. In the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer describes the Miller as a bold, garrulous
man and shows the morally incorrectness of the Miller. The Miller tells a vulgar but suitable story
which classifies him as a man of low social status with an uncouth, shrewd sense of humor. Narrating
his tale directly after the Knight s noble and honorable tale, the Miller tells a tale degrading
romanticism and love while exhibiting adulterous relationships. The vulgarity of his tale is one
example of the Miller s low social class. During the Middle Ages, a miller was generally a middle or
low class man who owned or operated a wheat mill. The social rank of a miller could vary, as
explained by Jeffery Singman and Will McLean in Daily Life in Chaucer s England, People s
positions in the hierarchy were considered to be of great importance, but sometimes the precise
gradation weren t entirely clear . . . However, it might be hard to tell whether the local miller was a
more important man than the local smith (9). Singman and Mclean are saying that one can not
categorize a miller into a specific social class, but can generalize a miller in the low to middle class in

Dream In The American Dream
The American Dream, has stereotypically branded a permanent mental image of a successful and
stunning married couple standing in front of their perfect white picket fence, 1.5 children, and in the
back ground is their classic, cookie cutter, utopian house. However, this idea has wrongly become the
standard model to living a successful life. This American Dream now excludes a large, diverse group
of people; the poor and the immigrants who have given everything to migrate and relocate only to
have their dreams become farther away from reality. This harsh, and rather unrealistic, utopian mental
picture does not accurately show the dreams of all people, and is only merely a dream society has
portrayed. Millennials especially, have taken note and are reacting with very different mindsets than
the generations that have come before them. The millennials desire more and are attempting to make a
change. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to understand. Dreams have strange concepts
that some people do not fully comprehend, especially ones that seem out of range. However, fantasy is
an essential component in surviving. Dreams and goals differ, yet are constantly mixed up, confused
and misused. The terms are unique in their own ways, have very distinct aspects but somehow still
become intertwined. People s modern goals typically include graduating school, getting a degree,
obtaining a job and becoming successful enough to have a decent paycheck that supports all the basic

Joplin s Influence On American Culture
The 1960s in America were a time of turbulence, and due to the Cold War, political assassinations,

American s life was affected by the radical change taking place during the 1960s, moreover one young
woman from Port Arthur, Texas, embodied everything that the decade would come to be known for.

the town s fabric that nigger knocking was a pastime among white teens. If anywhere could teach a

Janis and her mother, Dorothy, disagreed consistently, moreover Dorothy would disapprove nearly

Why Is Athens Better Than Sparta
Sparta and Athens were the two strongest city states and bitter rivals in ancient Greece, but who was
better? They had some similarities, but also many differences in culture, government, and lifestyle.
Over the years, they did not get along well together. Sparta was superior to Athens because Sparta had
superior training, had a more effective military, and gave women more freedom.
First of all, Sparta was superior to Athens because Sparta had superior training. The Spartans feared
that helots might soon rebel so the government firmly trained all men and boys for war. The boys, who
left their families when they were seven, were treated and trained aggressively so they could become
strong. The boys lived in barracks with the others that were also training. They didn t sleep on your
normal bed either. They lodged together in little bands upon beds made of the reeds... which they were
to break off with their hands without a knife. (Spartan Discipline, Plutarch) The men, who entered the
regular army when they were twenty, remained in barracks for 10 additional years. They could return

to another army led by Thebes, they were one of the most dominant groups in ancient Greece. Because
of their defeats, they also gained a lot of land. Sparta controlled about two fifths of the Peloponnese.

My Experience Of Going To New York City
I was called into my parent s room one day, only to be informed that I was going to one of the most

the possibly biggest days of my life, I had such aspirations for going. Soon, the day had finally come. I
was going there, and it was truly happening. I woke up at 4 AM and headed out for the bus station to

minutes. The anticipation I had was growing bigger and stronger by the second. I then look to my left
only to see such a great landscape of the city. I was finally there. I depart from the bus, and I was
surrounded by tens of hundreds of people roaming the streets. Numerous yellow taxi cabs came across
my view, followed by endless sounds of car horns honking. I was astonished by the city already, but I

We desire this so that we may together model ourselves after Jesus and His Kingdom.
Secondly, we want to help grow and nurture Stratford to be an encouragement and blessing to not just
congregations in London but also to congregations throughout England, the United Kingdom, and
abroad.
Thirdly, we plan to engage in the outreach of this populated and diverse section of London through
one on one and group discussions and studies of Christ and His Word, developing a strong presence,
relationship, and service in the community, and by showing the city of London the beacon of light the
Stratford congregation is and can continue to be.
The Stratford congregation is a congregation of passionate Christians who have a desire to fulfill the

magnitude in a city ranked in the top 30 most populated cities in the World would require for someone
to help them on a full time basis. In order for my wife and I to move to London and begin this work

The Stratford congregation is going to be able to support us with £500 a week, which is roughly $633

the congregation financially is to be completely self supporting in the future. Until that time, we will

Persuasive Essay On The Lorax
If things keep going the way they are humans will inevitably destroy the ocean and in doing so destroy
themselves. There need to be more Loraxes. We the people need to work together to minimize and
ultimately stop the production and use of plastics. Driving down the highway, or the gravel road it
doesn t matter I look on either side of the road and what do I see; plastic debris and trash. Someone
had to have thrown it there or maybe it blew out of the back of a trash truck going by but regardless
there it sits until someone picks it up or an animal mistakes it for a meal or a home. When Dr. Suess
wrote The Lorax it was in response to deforestation if he were alive today I think he would make
another version of the Lorax however this time it would be about polluting the ocean. Riding in the
with my cousin once I watched him throw a can out of the window. I can remember getting mad at
him and asking him what he was doing and all he said was, someone else will pick it up, it s not like it
is a big deal. Well at the time I let it go and thought nothing more of it. Time continued on and when I
was in sixth grade my mom and I went to Florida as your driving on a dirt road, how about that drive
through meal bag that your spouse can t know about because you and your supposed to be eating
healthy? Or watched someone else throw that spit bottle out the window? Believe it or not things like
these examples have an impact on the world. We ve all heard the reduce, reuse, recycle but why are
people so adamant about it? Perfect examples of reasons why people do this can be seen in the ocean
ecosystems. More and more of our wastes are ending up in the ocean and harming the animals living

Foreaskin Research Paper
Foreskin Hygiene, Pediatric
The foreskin is the loose skin that covers the head of the penis (glans). Keeping the foreskin area clean
can help prevent infection and other conditions. If this area is not cleaned, a creamy substance called
smegma can collect under the foreskin and cause odor and irritation.
The foreskin of an infant or toddler does not need unique hygiene care. You should wash the penis the
same way as any other part of your child s body, making sure you rinse off any soap. Cleaning inside
the foreskin is not necessary for children that young.
RETRACTING THE FORESKIN
Usually, the foreskin will fully separate from the glans by age 5 years, but it may separate as early as
age 2 years or as late as puberty.
When the foreskin has separated from the glans, it can be pulled back (retracted) so that the glans can
be cleaned.

Forcing the foreskin to retract can injure it and cause problems.
Children should be allowed to retract the foreskin on their own when they are ready.
KEEPING THE FORESKIN AREA CLEAN
Before puberty, the foreskin area should be cleaned from time to time or as needed.
After puberty, it should be cleaned every day.
Until the foreskin can be easily retracted, wash over the foreskin with soap and water.
When the foreskin can be easily retracted, wash the area under the foreskin in the shower or bathtub:

Public Private Partnerships in India PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN INDIA Public Private Partnership or PPP is a subject being given the increasing attention that it has been receiving in context of the sweeping changes in India s economic policies. We are all aware, along with the dismantling of the license permit raj a greater role is envisaged for the private sector in these new policies. Now it seems that, the private sector is not only to be facilitated in its growth, but there it can be taken on board as a partner by the government in the provision of public services. This of course, is the purpose of PPP. For those of us who have had a long innings in Government, such thinking represents a paradigm shift from the way things were always done. Having said this, I may state that this scenario gives rise to a host of issues to the mind of a practical administrator. Some of them would be on these lines: • Firstly, when should a public project opt for PPP? Does the project lend itself to the model, or indeed justify sharing of the rewards with the private sector. The U.K. was one of the first countries to go into partnership with the private sector for providing public services. They have been fairly successful in this respect. One of their PPP models is called the Public Finance Initiative (PFI), wherein the government contracts to purchase services on a long term basis from a private provider, who may build, maintain and operate infrastructure. The costs may be met from user charges, along with state subsidies, which are a form of viability gap funding . However while implementing the PFI program, the U.K. government had issued guidelines on the types of projects that needed to be taken up under it. These guidelines stated that PFI is appropriate where there are major and complex capital projects with significant and ongoing maintenance requirements. Here the private sector can offer project management skills, more innovative design and risk management expertise that can bring substantial benefits. In other words it is clear that PPP can be ... Google has produce multiple products over the years that were successful and some that lack success. The latest product their trying to liftoff is the Google Car. A driverless car that can rely on their sensors and software to drive themselves. The idea of a car that drives without a driver is by far interesting, but is it good to have a person life in the hands of a machine. Some people thinks this plan is a dead end: Ian Pearson, a futurologist, says What Google is proposing is obsolete, Pearson, who is also a fellow at the World Academy for Arts and Science, said. It doesn t exist yet, but there isn t any point in going through that phase. There are two Italian researchers are looking to release self driving pods. The pods, called Next, they re driverless boxes that will take you anywhere. But even the Next pods fall short of what Pearson foresees. For one, Next is a public transportation system that is controlled by a third party. The pods will pick you up after you request one through an app. (Muoio) So, there other things that are similar to driverless car that are surfacing around the world. While the history and establishment of Camp Lewis is not as important as preparing for war, it is important to know the past in order to help posture and mold the future of tomorrow. The idea for Camp Lewis was fought for by the civilian populace of Pierce County in Washington State. Late in1916, as war continued to escalate in Europe, a private group of concerned citizens gathered at American Lake to organize a training program designed for civilian personnel. The program was designed to encourage readiness among the community in preparation for the possibility of going to war in Europe. One of the attending civilians was a cadet named Stephen Appleby. Mr. Appleby (a former Captain in the Minnesota National Guard) was vice president of the Northwest Business Men s Preparedness League and a bank cashier for Tacoma Washington. He was informed that the Army was sending out a survey team to the Northwest in search of establishing an Army Post. Mr. Appleby contacted the commander of the survey team and asked him to make a site visit of the camp that the community had established as possibility of use for the Army. However this is the extremes of poverty, and is rarely experienced within the UK. Despite this poverty still takes place within the UK just at a lesser extent, however this does not take away from the devastating effects that poverty can have. This poverty can be attributed to having less money and lower living standards than others of the same society (European Anti Poverty Network, 2009). Child poverty is a direct result of adult poverty (Poverties.org, 2011 2012) however unlike and adult, the experience of poverty for a child can effect later life drastically. In April 2011, there were 13 million people in the UK living below the poverty line, this included 3.6 million children (Department for Work and Pensions, 2011), and these numbers are expected to rise further (Child Poverty action Group, 2000 2012). This type of poverty does not discriminate, it is a direct result of inadequate resources. Unfortunately children themselves are a major contributing factor to their own poverty, as when a child is born a family s income must spread further, at a time when income is short. While food, water, and shelter are important, there is no purpose to life without that sense of belonging. Kao and her family never really felt belonged anywhere, and they struggled to feel a sense of purpose in their home . My favorite passage in the book, is when Kao is telling her story of her adjustment of coming to America. This passage is part of the third section of the book, The American Years. Back in their old home they were accustomed to frequent bombings, disease, malnourishment, and so much physical pain. Using a minimum cash balance approach is a safe way for a business to make sure that it always has a cash balance in reserve. It guarantees that the business will always have a certain amount of cash asset to fall back on. This is a very limiting and unrealistic approach to managing a business working capital though. Cash is just one component of working capital. A business could be flush with cash but have liabilities that exceed that balance and have a negative working capital balance. A good business needs to think beyond a mental cash framework and think broader to include other ramifications to the overall profitability and balance sheet stability. 2 There is a saying, if it isn t broke, don t fix it . In view of the firm s present success in paying bills promptly, should it be encouraged to use a cash budget? Be prepared to support your answer. The business has been profitable but has it managed its resources as well as it could have? That is the real question here. While the business feels that it has done well and paid its bills timely doesn t mean that that the way it handles things can t be improved upon. • 12. Examples Of Creon A Foil In Antigone Mask Essay In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon is a foil to Antigone. A foil is when one character contrasts with another character. Antigone and Creon are complete opposites (besides them both being very stubborn). Antigone is very loyal to her family, and buries Polyneices even though she knew she would be punished. Antigone is also very independent. She stood for what she believed in on her own, while those around her were too scared. Creon has no loyalty to his family, and refuses to honor Polyneices because he sees him as a traitor. He also revolves around power and believes his laws comes over God s laws. Creon suffers from too much pride. Antigone and Creon come in contrast with each other, therefore this is a foil relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was brave, for she stood up too Creon even though no one stood behind her. Antigone was kind, and she put herself before others. Antigone is a wonderful character to look up to, for she symbolizes bravery, loyalty, and kindness. My contrasting mask was Creon. • 13. The Rise Of The Prefabricated Tower Block To understand the rise of the prefabricated tower block it is important to recognize that their existence came about as a reaction to contemporary architecture which was codified at the state level. During and after the Second World War, Soviet Realism became the dominant force in urban architecture in the Soviet sphere, especially as Moscow installed puppet states throughout the Eastern Bloc which copied the policies of the USSR. This development was not accepted well by architects and intellectuals, especially in Germany, where the legacy of pre war modernism was very obvious in cities like Berlin, but also in cities like Moscow, Prague, and Sofia where the classicism endorsed by Stalin was like going back a century. Stalin s preference for a building style highlighting the power of the Soviet people resulted in a complete stagnation of other forms or architecture, and although very solidly built, his buildings were built on mostly important thoroughfares as prestige projects since the state could hardly pay for every building to fit this style, making its impact on most citizens negligible unless they were privileged enough to get an apartment in one of these buildings. So, rather than to further soviet goals of housing for all, these buildings made social stratification very obvious, as homeless laborers would walk down streets past new buildings with ornate stonework in which they had little hope of ever stepping inside, let alone living. By this time, Rome was the largest city in the world, with almost half a million citizens residing in its walls (Goldsworthy 19). Caesar s birth was claimed to be a Caesarian section, a birth considered to be a bad omen in Ancient Rome. This position of power was handed to him quite soon, at the age of sixteen, when his father collapsed and died. He would soon after marry Cornelia, the daughter of Cinna, one the most powerful men in Rome at the time after serving on consul for four consecutive years (49). Caesar began a military service years later, which was considered a beginning to his career in the public eye. When I started off the semester I found that my weakness was doing full observations. I would find myself making short quick notes and then I would have a hard time getting a full observation. I decided that I was going to focus on getting better at observations I did. When making observations about children s behavior or their skills I would write the short notes that had the information that I needed, then I would write the observation out that same day in a longer format. I did it the same day so that I could remembers everything that was going on or exactly what happened. This was very helpful for me to create a full observation. • 25. Descriptive Essay On Christmas Christmas Eve Lasagna In our house lasagna is a dish made for special occasions, my mom is the only one that makes it. Every year, before my grandfather passed away, my mom would make lasagna for my brother, father, grandfather, and I. When I was in elementary school my grandfather and grandmother got divorced, they couldn t even be in the same room together. Therefore, in order to be able to spend time with both of them during the holidays we would need to have two of each holiday. Christmas Eve is when we would have Christmas with my grandfather. Lasagna isn t just my favorite meal because it tastes good, it is the memories of my grandfather s strength and fight that are associated with it that makes the meal special. People often said that wherever my grandfather went he always made new friends or enemies. This explains his personality perfectly, he always made an everlasting impression, not afraid to voice his opinions. When I was around him he was always telling stories about his days of playing minor league baseball under the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins organizations or his days of being a K9 trooper for the New Hampshire State Police. He was someone that I admired and loved being around. Some of the best memories are the ones where we are sitting around the table on Christmas Eve eating our lasagna and munching on some garlic bread. • 28. An Analysis Of Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales An Analysis of Chaucer s Miller in the Canterbury Tales Many characters in Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales link to the different social classes in England during the Medieval Period. The Miller is a crude character who tells an entertaining, yet inappropriate tale on a pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral. In the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer describes the Miller as a bold, garrulous man and shows the morally incorrectness of the Miller. The Miller tells a vulgar but suitable story which classifies him as a man of low social status with an uncouth, shrewd sense of humor. Narrating his tale directly after the Knight s noble and honorable tale, the Miller tells a tale degrading romanticism and love while exhibiting adulterous relationships. The vulgarity of his tale is one example of the Miller s low social class. During the Middle Ages, a miller was generally a middle or low class man who owned or operated a wheat mill. The social rank of a miller could vary, as explained by Jeffery Singman and Will McLean in Daily Life in Chaucer s England, People s positions in the hierarchy were considered to be of great importance, but sometimes the precise gradation weren t entirely clear . . . However, it might be hard to tell whether the local miller was a more important man than the local smith (9). • 29. Dream In The American Dream The American Dream, has stereotypically branded a permanent mental image of a successful and stunning married couple standing in front of their perfect white picket fence, 1.5 children, and in the back ground is their classic, cookie cutter, utopian house. However, this idea has wrongly become the standard model to living a successful life. This American Dream now excludes a large, diverse group of people; the poor and the immigrants who have given everything to migrate and relocate only to have their dreams become farther away from reality. This harsh, and rather unrealistic, utopian mental picture does not accurately show the dreams of all people, and is only merely a dream society has portrayed. Millennials especially, have taken note and are reacting with very different mindsets than the generations that have come before them. The millennials desire more and are attempting to make a change. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to understand. Dreams have strange concepts that some people do not fully comprehend, especially ones that seem out of range. However, fantasy is an essential component in surviving. Dreams and goals differ, yet are constantly mixed up, confused and misused.
