stories is a dark and depressing room. This room is important to the story due to the fact that in both of
the stories the protagonists are in the room for excessive periods of time. Chopin s shows the women
grieving in an empty room, but this empty room gets her the idea that she is now free. When the storm

spectacular band performance of 219 students at Calaveras High School in the Flock Gymnasium for

Christmas is magical in the eyes of a child. At least, that s how it was for me. Every year, as the month
of December rolled around, the lights were strung and the trees were set up, I sent my letter out with a
hopeful heart that Santa would make an appearance on my doorstep on Christmas Eve. The December
