Pap Test Research Paper
Also known as the Papanicolaou test, a pap test is carried out on a sample of cells from the cervix to
check for abnormalities that may be indicative of cervical cancer. The cells are scraped from the
opening of the cervix are examined under a microscope. You lie on the table and place your feet in
stirrups. The health care provider gently places an instrument called a spectrum into the vagina to
open it slightly. This allows the provider to see inside the vagina and cervix. Cells are gently scraped
from the cervix area. The sample of cells is sent to a lab for examination. Tell your provider about all
medications you take. Some birth control pills that contain estrogen or progestin may affect test
results. Your provider should also know about any previous abnormal pap smears or if you are
pregnant. It is not recommended to have a pap test if within 24 hours if you have used douche, had
intercourse, or used tampons. You should also avoid scheduling a pap test while you have your period
because the blood my produce false results. If the bleeding is unexpected, then do not cancel the
appointment. Remember to empty your bladder (medlineplus.gov, 2018). ... Show more content on

It can cause some discomfort, similar to menstrual cramps. You may also feel some pressure during
the exam. You may also bleed a little afterwards. The pap test is a screening test for cervical cancer.
Most cervical cancers can be detected early if a woman has routine pap tests. Screening should start at
age 21. If the first test results are normal, your next test can be done in 3 years to check for cervical
cancer. Women over 30 can wait every 5 years in between testing with normal results. Women who
have had a hysterectomy and have not had a abnormal pap may not need a pap test, but must first
speak with their provider (medlineplus.gov,

Prostate Cancer Synthesis
Abstract: Prostate cancer is the leading mortality cancer amongst males. This cancer is due to the
signaling increase of androgen and androgen receptors, which is a gene that associates with the risk of
prostate cancer. Over expression of androgen receptors occurs in androgen independent cancer.
Prostate tumors advance to androgen independent state where they progress in the absence of
circulating testosterone. Typically, treatments for prostate cancer are surgery and radiation. Most
effective treatments in the early stage of prostate cancer includes suppression of AR function either by
blocking androgen signaling with anti androgen bicalutanmide (Casodex) or flutamide or by inhibiting
the conversion of testosterone to the potent androgen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although PA is most abundant, EA has been shown in other studies to exhibit anticarcinogenic
properties such as induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis as well as the inhabitation of tumor
formation and growth particularly in animals. Studies show that consumption of phytochemical rich
diet reduces the risk of prostate cancer. With that being said, in this study there were several
experiments done to show the correlation of how pomegranate in the form of POMx, PJ, PA and EA
will help reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer by reducing the signaling of AR. Although studies
have yet to find the mechanism of gene down regulation there have been several studies that show that
the LNaCP AR cell line is overexpressed which leads to prostate cancer. In this study the cells lines
LNCaP and LNcAP AR cell lines are closely examined. The main aim of this study is to show how
pomegranate and its polyphenols can reduce the androgen receptors that are overexpressed to decrease
the risk of prostate cancer and the tumor size of prostate cancer.
Methods:
1. POMx: standardized extract of pomegranate fruit contains monomeric and oligomeric ellagitannins
as PA (37 40%) and 3.4% free EA but no anthocyanins as determined by high performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC)
2. PJ: Whole pomegranate juice in concentrated powder form contains 1 mg/ml punicalagin, 0.97
mg/ml EA and anthocyanins
3. PA: Purified from fruit husk and contains monomeric and oligomeric analyzed by HPLC and liquid
chromatography electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (LC

Analysis of a Television Advertisement Aimed at Raising...
Analysis of a Television Advertisement Aimed at Raising Awareness on the Issue of Road Safety
In order to analyse the advertisement, it is necessary to look at the different techniques used
throughout. The advertisement has been created in order to promote road safety, and is from a series of
advertisements called THINK! The specific advert I am to analyse is called Backwards , and deals
with the decision of whether or not to wear seatbelts whilst travelling in a car. Different techniques
used in the advertisement are employed in order to increase effectiveness, these are as follows; the
meaning behind the visuals of the advertisement, the target audience and how it raises the audiences ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is very the ultimate goal of the advertisement that the meaning comes across very clearly, and also
that this message be a lasting one.
Wearing a seatbelt became the law in 1983, therefore the advert is not only for to raise awareness and
show that seatbelts save lives, but it is also to demonstrate that you are breaking the law as well by not
wearing one.
Obviously being a road safety advertisement, the target audience of the advertisement is any drivers
and passengers that use cars either on a regular basis or sporadically. An important factor to consider
when appealing to a certain audience is the time that the advertisement is shown each day, how often
that it is shown and the language that is used throughout the advertisement. It is important that the
target can relate to the tone or features of the advert, if they are to take anything away from it. This
particular advertisement was shown up to 25 times a day. It was also part of a series shown on
television intermittently throughout the year. This means that the advertisement will be shown at the
start of the year for 3 weeks, then at the end of the year for a further 3 weeks. The scene at the end of
the advert emerges with a line on it reading, If you had another chance, what would you do
differently? This phrase is easily understood, and can therefore appeal to any person of any age,

How Did Nero Unstable Rule
Itoro Abasi Udo Imeh
Mr. Pugh
Period 7
Nero: A Powerful yet Unstable Ruler. Nero was a highly influential Roman leader whose actions
where both positive for the Roman Empire and also abused his power by doing negative actions in
Rome. Nero was born to Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus and Agrippina, the great granddaughter of
Augustus in 37 A.D, with the full name of Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus. He was the last remaining
direct male descendant of Augustus. Nero received a good education and was taught by Seneca. He
studied Greek, philosophy and rhetoric. After Nero s father, Gnaeus died in 48 A.D, his mother
married her uncle, Claudius who at the time was the emperor. She manipulated Claudius to make Nero
his successor instead of his son Britannicus, as well as give Nero his daughter, Octavia s hand in
marriage in 50 A.D. In 54 A.D Claudius died, and Agrippina was suspected to have poisoned him.
Nero took the throne soon after. Nero claimed that Britannicus had an epileptic seizure which caused
his death, but historians believe that Nero poisoned him to get rid of competition.

perish! After the death of Nero, there was no heir to take the throne so Rome broke out into civil war.
The senators wanted each of themselves to be the Emperor of Rome. In a short span of time six
different men took the throne and the title of the Roman Emperor. All had to step down, because they
were not strong enough to rule Rome. Nero s rule for the most part was bad for numerous citizens of
Rome and numerous out of Rome. He started out well, but then he started to

Impact of the Recession on Construction Contractors
THE IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS ON THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
JANUARY 2009
INTRODUCTION
The current crisis in the world s financial system has left the construction industry facing its toughest
challenges for a generation. Salaries are falling; job cuts are predicted to reach 400,000 in England
alone; and the impacts look set to get much worse before they get better.
No country is immune from the impact of this and the UK, and much of the rest of the world, is
already in, or about to enter a recession. Even buoyant construction markets such as the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) are starting to feel the effect, with construction growth rate expected to slow from
20% to 15% in 2009 (Al Mal Capital). The United Nations (UN) ... Show more content on

The fiscal mitigation measures that were recently announced by the Chancellor (Pre budget statement,
November 2008) were not sufficient to address the underlying loss of confidence facing all UK
businesses (and people).
More innovative ways could be investigated by Government to help the industry survive, such as
providing credit insurance; relaxing bonding requirements on public projects; setting up project bank
accounts; and providing tax breaks/concessions for sustainable construction R D. At present, the latter
has effectively ground to a halt largely as a result of the deeply entrenched uncertainty that abound.
Jobs Loss of Skills
Almost 400,000 jobs in the construction sector in England could be lost over the next two years
(assuming GDP shrinks by 2.2% in 2009 and rises by 0.75% in 2010). It is predicted that the worst
affected area will be London, where 23% of workers are expected to be made redundant (Public and
Corporate Economic Consultants for the Local Government Association).
On the other hand, Eastern Europeans are responding to the downturn in the market by returning
home, and this has eased the severity of the job situation in many instances.
Given the forecasts for construction output in 2009, it could be assumed that jobs in the public sector
may offer more security than those in the private sector. This reinforces the need for Government to
establish how an accelerated public spending package will be

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited and noncontagious, lifelong condition. More specifically, per
Ohaeri, Shokunbi, Akinlade, Dare, 1995, SCD is a generic term for a group of genetic disorders
characterized by the predominance of sickle cell hemoglobin (Hgb). Hemoglobin is a protein in the
red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. The disease produces significantly abnormal
Hgb molecules in red blood cells (RBCs). In sickle cell anemia, the red blood cells become rigid and
sticky and are shaped like sickles or crescent moons. These irregularly shaped cells can get stuck in
small blood vessels, which can slow or block blood flow and oxygen to parts of the body (Ohaeri,

Per a Health Disparities Work Group of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), a
simple blood test can show whether a person has sickle cell disease (Sickle cell disease, 2012, p.2).
Infants screening is mandated in the United States before newborn go home from the hospital.
Therefore, patients who present with SCD are typically aware of their diagnosis. However, although
SCD is present at birth, most infants do not have any problems from the disease until they are about 5
or 6 months of age. SCD results in early childhood death if left untreated (Sickle cell disease, 2012,
p.2). Recommended screening tests, noted in Sickle cell disease, 2012, and Paul, Castro, Aggarwal,
Oneal 1995, include hemoglobin electrophoresis, isoelectric focusing, high performance liquid
chromatography or DNA analysis (p. 2 and p. 34). Some of the improvement in survival in sickle cell
disease over the past few decades have been attributed to neonatal screening, facilitating early access
to prophylaxis with penicillin, comprehensive care, and parental education on the early detection of
complications such as acute splenic sequestration (Sickle cell disease, 2012,

The Limits Of Growth ( Tltg )
Introduction
At the time it was written, The Limits to Growth (TLTG) was groundbreaking in its modeling,
analysis and subsequent predictions of future trends. It is a policy paper pushing for sustainable
development, coupled with technological modernisation. This essay will examine TLTG through an
ecocentric lens. First, this paper will briefly summarise ecocentrism. Second, it will discuss TLTG and
its findings in a contemporary context. It will be argued that TLTG ultimately failed in its ambition,
because it utilised a discourse system that did not address key systematic causes of resource depletion.
TLTG recognises human s overconsumption and disregard for the Earth s finite resources as a cause of
exponential growth. However, it very much focuses on the survival of people rather than the Earth s
intrinsic value. An ecocentric perspective argues that each fragment of the Earth has an intangible
value and should be treated accordingly; a concept that TLTG does not address.
An ecocentric perspective has the propensity to halt the over exploitation that occurs at such an
alarming rate. Ecocentrism should be applied on a systemic, domestic and individual level to avoid the
Earth s further degradation. Indeed, this would require the re structuring of capitalism. Subsequently, a
seemingly radical and alternative discourse system is needed to dominate policy documents such as
TLTG. This essay does not suggest that ecocentric perspectives would be successful in creating

Hip Hop Masculinity
Connecting Masculinity to Hip Hop as an entire movement Hip Hop originated in the 1970 s, and
during that period the genre was known as a means through which African Americans could speak
their minds and state their opinions and concerns about important issues in their communities and
society. However hip hop has immensely changed since its creation to what it is now, as a result of its
profit oriented nature. Even though a few aspects of the original old school hip hop are still recognized
and practiced in today s mainstream rap, the genre as a whole has come to be known for revolving
around the common themes of violence, drug use, promiscuity, fashion, and materialism. In reality,
today s mainstream hip hop is based on the beliefs of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Female MC s accept a variety of different fashion trends and masculine mannerisms in hip hop,
whether it s the hyper sexuality in their lyrics or music videos or they are taking on masculine
personas. Female MC s like Da Brat are known for their more masculine appearances. Typically, other
female MC s often take the other route. The success rate of music in the hip hop industry has been
proven to tie into hyper sexualized images and female MC s are forced to comply with the sexism of
the genre. These women do this by referring to themselves and other women as bitches , and hoes
along with explicitly talking about sexual acts and fantasies. However, most of these sexual fantasies
are in the male s perspective. Female MC s also give in to the superficial beliefs of the genre. For
example, rapper Nicki Minaj collaborated with Drake in the song Up all Night, where she bragged, I
make the kind of money that make a broke bitch bitter...Which bitch you know made a million off a
mixtape? That was just a keepsake. Bought the president the Louie presidential briefcase (Minaj,

masculinity; they completely mimic the behaviors of male

The Australian Government Essay
When you think of the land down under you don t really think of the kind of government they have. I
chose to write about the Australian government because I really don t hear much about Australia. It
currently has a pretty interesting story to tell when it comes to their government. I became a bit
interested in Australian politics when I saw a political animated cartoon on the internet that depicted
Kevin Rudd, the last Prime Minister, on a news television show and it was quite humorous. I am going
to give a quick history lesson on Australia then go into how the government formed and came to be.
Then I will talk about the Australian constitution, the Australian arms of government, their federal

Penal colonies are places when some send their inmates to be exiled. It was said that about 160,000
people were brought into Australia. Many Europeans decided to immigrate to Australia and because of
this and after a while the economy and colonies of Australia, under the British rule, started to grow
(Austrailian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade).
Now I shall talk about how the Australian Constitution. It s common knowledge to know that a
constitution is pretty much the law of the land and a foundation of the laws that rule there.
Constitutions are very important for countries to have. Helen Irving explains in The Oxford
Companion of Australian Politics that, Its Preamble records the agreement of the six Australian
colonies to federate in 1901 and to remain together as one indissoluble federal Commonwealth . The
Australian Constitution was written as a bill when the colonies met in 1890. The constitution has a full

Queen Music Essay
Queen
Queen was a glam rock band that formed in 1971 in London. The band consisted of four men; Freddie
Mercury who sang lead vocals and played piano, Brian May who played lead guitar and sang, Roger
Taylor who was on drums, sang, and played guitar, and finally John Deacon who played bass guitar.
All four men also contributed and were songwriters. This British quartet developed into camp and
bombastic music which created a vast, mock operatic sound that consisted of layered guitar sounds
and overdubbed vocals.
Freddie Mercury was a flamboyant lead singer who brought a dramatic vocal style to the group. His

LEGO s major threat can be seen in the varying nature of the market in the run up until 2004. Where it
has remained the market leader of construction toys, it should be taken into account that LEGO s
traditional toys have been widely replaced by substitutes in the electronic sector. Despite such threats
to the core product offering in this trend in the run up to 2004, the company could turn around this
situation and use this threat as an opportunity to diversify in markets such as games and films as well
as the development of non traditional LEGO products. In the years preceding 2004, LEGO already
had practice with diversification into direct retails with its very own LEGO stores and the launch of
the LEGO Land amusement parks. However this signifies as a substantial opportunity for further
development.

Elie Wiesel s Holocaust Survivor
Elie Wiesel s [holocaust survivor] book night is one with some non visible but hidden ideas. Elie
makes some more obvious than others. There are two sides/ outlooks to this idea from his book. There
s a selfish outlook and there a selfless outlook. Evidence of this are all throughout his book. Not

Elie says and believes it s more important to help one another rather to be selfish and fend for oneself.

Elie didn t write the book to tell us what is right or wrong. Elie wrote the book to tell the history of his
people. Elie explains himself as a messenger of the dead among the living (Harry James Cargas 34 In
Conversation with Elie Wiesel ). So which is better ? Watching over each other in the while the icy
winds hit your face while the other sleeps? Maybe you d rather avoid the blows from one of your
loved ones. Elie doesn t tell us what s right either being selfless or selfish. Both are right as human
nature is to be selfish. They were living such a primitive life style making it hard to care for one
another. After while each when back to their primal instincts thinking of themselves in an attempt to
survive. Elies outlook is quite interesting he explains society is composed of three simple categories:
the killers, the victims, and the bystanders. (Weisel paragraph 13 perils of indifference ). Elie has such
a forgiving outlook as if the nazis were just a part of society as if it just had to happen like it wasn t a
big deal as if it was just apart of life. He wrote the book to let the reader know that there isnt rights
and wrongs in life. Is it better to be generous and offer your father to take watch first? Maybe its better
to only stay with him for the purpose of being more likely to survive with him. Victor Frankl another
holocaust survivor explains his thoughts through his survival. He talk a lot about the things he clung
and held on too in his thoughts Then i grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry
and human thought and belief have to impart he then says My mind still clung to the image of my
wife. A thought came across my mind: I didn t even know if she were still alive. (Frankl 38) Talking a
lot about his own thoughts I think he leaned more toward the thinking of oneself s side. Human nature
is to be selfish while in a primitive state.

Many people aren t aware of how many elephants are killed each year by poachers. These poachers

Composition II
Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow
First impressions of Piet Mondrian s Composition II with Red Blue and Yellow generally identify the
art as shapes with color. However, there is much meaning behind the abstract work of art. Created in
1930 on a 46x46cm canvas, the oil painting portrays thick, black brushwork separating different
figures of rectangles. It was made on the foundation of Neo Plasticism, an artistic movement at that
time focusing on the most basic, abstract elements of painting. The artist s intended effect, harmonious
tension, is well achieved through the contrast between the colored rectangles and black lines, and
perspective.
An element of the art that helped convey the effect was the contrast between the colored rectangles
and black lines. The artwork portrayed different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Separating these rectangles is black lines, all of different thickness. Mondrian saw this contrasts
between the colored shapes and line as a metaphor for reality. It signifies both the balance and
harmony of dynamic forces in life. These dynamic forces in life work together to create peace, just as
the rectangles and lines work together to create peace in the art. The overall asymmetry contributes to
the other effect: tension. The black lines run off of the canvas, and seem to never end. Nothing in the
painting is alike, all different shapes and colors. Although the painting can seem so beautiful and
perfect at first, it may also bring the stress and lust to make to go and align the shapes and lines to
make it symmetrical. This is a metaphor for the utopia and dystopia in life. Life can be so calming, yet
comes with it, is the tension and anxiety. For example, in Mondrian s life, he moved to the
Netherlands in pursuit of expanding his art. This relatively hopeful and jubilant decision was shut
down when World War I began. It had seemed like World War I

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Athens
Democracy and oligarchy, what does this have to do with anything, right? Well, actually when it
comes to Ancient Greece it is very important, because these two types of government are the main two
types in Greece. Athens is superior to Sparta, because how things were changed, and the power of the
people. First, Athens went through different types of government, it made them where they are now.
As they became more rich and a bigger city state, the governments were changing all the time. The
wealthiness became so big that it was given to the aristocracy, but only a few members. There might
have been a lack of laws that are staying in the city state. Although, secondly, Athens fixed that in 621

Lastly, drama/theatre, the drama concept was established by the Athenians. City Dionysia was a

laugh. Tragedy were things like love/hate/war/and betrayal, though there would always end up being a

geographical advantage, and I think we all know which one that is. Athens is superior to Sparta,
because it is the largest city state in Greece, the three different regions, the trades, and the climate.
There were three different regions, the lowlands, the mountains, and the coast. The soil was uneven
and very rocky on the Greek peninsula, which left less than 20% of land to be farmed on. They relied
mainly on grains and other food to be imported from the regions around them. Land Travel was
difficult because of the mountains around them. Greece controlled Attica, a region. All the mountains

Modern Times By Charlie Chaplin
Throughout this course so far we have learned of the struggles of man, from slavery and
reconstruction, war, to industrialization and the Great Depression. These were hard times in America
and frankly I m glad I do not have to live through it. From the film Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin
we get an inside look at how one felt and experienced during the 1930 s. I clearly feel this movie
captured the essence of what today people think about today of the 1930 s, Industrialization and the
Great Depression. It is at this time that the hard working class citizen is highlighted. Let s begin with a
brief summary of the film. The film follows a young man who is working in the factory trying to keep
up with technology but ends of losing his mind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The part where the government is taking them away and the screen flashes the saying The law takes
charge of the orphans . This flat out shows how the government feels they own a person and what
happens with them until the government sees fit. Which is also what happens today with minors, it is
understandable but nevertheless it is the government having full control over what happens to an
individual person. Which results in the eldest daughter running away before they can take her away
but ends up catching up to her in the end of the film. The economics is absolutely terrible during the
Great Depression. People are starving in the street every day. The basic survival needs of life are
stripped from many people such as, work, food, and shelter. In the Chaplin film, the woman who
Chaplin becomes companions with, story began as a thief, stealing food to feeds her siblings and
father as he no longer had work to be able to provide for his family. We watch the scene as she is a
crazy eyed savage type stealing bananas just to have some food for the day. But children are not the
only ones to steal to eat in this film. The part of the movie in the department store examines the
lengths of hostility men were willing to go to get food. Here the robber shot at and held hostage
Chaplin until an ex coworker recognized him. He went on to explain We ain t burglars, were hungry .

Some Of The Things We See Our Everyday Life Like Movies
Shawn Scott Professor Stief English 1302.707 22 April 2017 Title Some of the things we see in our
everyday life like movies, television shows, or commercials depict different stereotypes of men. Men
are depicted to be people who are careless, make stupid mistakes, are self centered, independent, and
strong. They bring the money home and support the family, and the stars of the show but are often
incapable of solving the simplists of problems. In these examples there are many times women in the
background that hold everything together. These ideas can shape expectations and can be influential to
young viewers. Men in most movies are depicted as the bad guys. In all movies, with the exception of
superhero movies, men are the ones that do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles makes sure that he is glorified over everyone else on
his team. Miles was the type of guy that would do anything and everything to get people s eyes on
him.In one scene the Panthers were beating a team really bad and as it got toward the end of the game,
the coach wanted to put in the second string running back. Boobie could not have this so he hid the
other running back s helmet so the coach would have no choice but to keep Boobie in the game. This
movie makes it seem that if you are not an athlete you are lesser of a person. Young people could take
the concept of a team as unimportant because of this movie. The film would promote the idea that it is
only up to one s self to have success and not the other individuals on the field. Being an athlete could
also become an excuse for getting away with things. In Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles uses the fact
that he is a really good athlete to take advantage of things he would not be able to get away with if he
was not a popular football player in his town. One thing that he does try to get away with is not doing
any school work. Younger viewers could get the idea from this movie that by being an athlete, you can
get away with things you should not get away with and gain the power to treat individuals poorly.
Guys, in television shows, are also depicted to be worry free and careless, and

Losing Tenants
Losing tenants can be expensive. You re losing the rental amount, but you re also spending money in
advertising and labor intensive tasks to turn over the apartment. Renter retention is vital for your
business, and happy tenants stay in their units for years. There are unique challenges that go along
with owning an apartment building whether it s one unit or a large rental property. In some cases, it s
easier to have procedures in place when you re overseeing more than one unit. It becomes your job
instead of being a sideline bit of income in addition to your regular employment.
10 Ways to Keep Tenants Happy
1. Welcoming Them to the Neighborhood
You should be aiming to keep these tenants long term. Once you ve vetted them properly, and know
they are right for your property, you ll want to keep them happy. That begins from the moment they
sign the lease. Have a welcome packet handy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Respect Your Tenant s Privacy
Tenants have a right to expect a reasonable amount of privacy. When you need to make repairs or do
inspections, they should have advanced notice unless there s an emergency. The welcome packet
should talk about what will be done in the matter of emergency repairs where the landlord has to enter
the unit immediately. You should never enter the unit without the tenant s knowledge.
5. Maintenance and Repairs in a Timely Manner
When you have a procedure for taking on routine maintenance and repairs, the apartment itself as well
as the common areas and the building itself will stay in good repair. This is vital for keeping the tenant
happy. Landlords who have pride in their property will have happy tenants with respect for the
property too.
6. Improvements and Upgrades Regularly
Along with the proper repairs and maintenance, the landlord should be updating and making small
improvements continually to the property. For example, a porch might be upgraded with more
aesthetically pleasing railings leading up the stairs to the porch.

Zara broad offering meets its customer s demands quickly. This is due to management s almost
instantaneous response to changes in customers needs (Ghemawat et al, 2006).
Zara s prices consider the cost of exporting and market conditions of the store s location (D Andrea et
al, 2003) instead of the traditional application a cost plus margin.
Zaras inventory turnover is higher than their direct competition (at 10.67% versus H amp;M at 6.84%)
(D Andrea et al, 2003). Constantly changing stock encourages sales and increase the average visits to
stores per customer (Kotler et al, 2009).
5. Service:
Traditional supply chains take a supplier centric/push view with a focus on what a business is trying to
sell rather than a focus on customer s demands (Kotler et al, 2009). Zara s supply chain adopts a
vertical structure which is mainly demand driven with cycle times being kept to a minimum which
allows information to be acted upon quickly (Grant, 2011).

Analysis Of The Movie The Cheeks Were Red
Long before Woody Allen s jasmine was blue, his cheeks were red over an allegation about a midnight
not in Paris, but in his attic. He was called an irrational man within the halls of his own home in
Manhattan, putting Allen in a new kind of spotlight. After ending his twelve year relationship with
Mia Farrow, accusations arose claiming that Mr. Allen had molested the couples adopted daughter
Dylan when she was seven. However, despite the precarious circumstances in which the allegations
arose, both sides continue to maintain their respective arguments. Mr. Allen objects to said
accusations, claiming he is innocent. Mia, on the opposing side, is in defense of Dylan (now thirty)

Even though the accusation were ludicrous in nature Mia pushed and charges were being sought for
Woody Allen. A progression of police investigations followed, in which the Connecticut Police
enlisted the help of the Child Sexual Abuse Clinic of the Yale New Haven Hospital. After evaluating
all parties involved they summed up their conclusions by making a public statement that follows thus;
It is our expert opinion that Dylan was not sexually abused by Mr. Allen. Further, we believe that
Dylan s statements on videotape and her statements to us during our evaluation do not refer to actual
events that occurred to her on August 4th, 1992 (Allen). Due to these finding Mr. Allen was not
charged with any crimes, but found the judge irresponsible for his verdict of we will probably never
know what occurred (Allen). As a result of the scandal, Mr. Allen lost custody of his children. Twenty
years after the accusations, Dylan Farrow makes her first public comment on the incident in an open
letter published in The New York Times. In the letter she states her firm belief that Mr. Allen is guilty,
in addition she shames many celebrities by name for continuing to work with Woody Allen. In

Thomas Paine Colonies
According to Thomas Paine in Common Sense, colonies should break away from Great Britain and
declare independence for many reasons. Before explaining his reasons, Thomas Paine was a British
Philosopher who found flaws within the British Government and how they run things with their allied
countries. Reasons for Paine believing that the colonies should break apart include equality, keeping a
relationship with other countries, and having a different form of government opposed to Britain s
government.
The reading implies that Paine is stating that the other colonies should break away from Great Britain
because of equality rights. Equality in a country is a big problem, especially in a country who has no
say in their equality. In the passage, it states, Where there are no distinctions there can be no
superiority, perfect equality affords no temptation. This quote explains what equality is and it how
with equality would cause nothing, but peace. Also, Paine states, The republics of Europe are all (and
we may say always) in peace. This quote shows an example of how with equality, the republics of
Europe can be peaceful and calm. Another reason that Paine thinks that the colonies should break
away from Great Britain because they can keep a great relationship with other countries. The reading
talks a lot about reconciliation. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, reconciliation is the
restoration of friendly relations. Because the way Great Britain is set up, Paine

The Bottle Bill
Introduction In the 2014 gubernational election, the second ballot question received plenty of
publicity. The bottle bill was up for a referendum, the question was based upon the expansion of the
bottle bill. The expansion involved the addition of several different vocabulary terms that were not
incorporated in the original bottle bill and adding several clauses to expand the effect of the bill. The
opposition believed that expanding the bottle bill is not the solution to the lacking recycling resources
available in the Commonwealth. The group for the expansion focused its campaign on the projected
impact this would have on littering and the economic benefit. I think both campaigns failed to include

Original Bottle Bill vs Expansion
The original bottle bill was passed in 1981, after being vetoed by Governor Ed King. Three years after
the bottle bill passed, Massachusetts had recycled thirty five billion containers ( ). MassPrig led a
coalition to gain legislature support to ensure the passing of the bottle bill. The bottle bill was created
into three sections, Chapter 94 Section 321, Chapter 94 Section 322, and Chapter 94 Section 323.
Section 321 laid out the definitions for the legal terms used to create the concepts in the two sections
that follow. Section 322 states the bottle deposit amount and what it covers. Section 323 and it s sub
sections outlined the provisions for the distributors to follow when selling plastic containers, the
appropriate way to accept recyclable items from a consumer, and what the state would do with
business that are below their quota ( ). In 2003, Mitt Romney led an effort to utilize forfeited nickel
deposits as a supplement to the state s general fund instead of the environmental funded created under
the original bottle bill. The proposed bottle bill expansion wanted to expand the definition of
beverage. The new definition would include non carbonated and non alcoholic beverages intended for
human consumption. They also wanted to add the definition of a redemption center and a smaller to

Fluids from one of the artificial blossoms dripped onto a colored reptile s head, causing it to contort
violently and pass away agonizingly. This imparts how science is able to devise potent materials
capable of stripping organisms of their lives. A delicate winged insect was attracted by the heavy
perfumes of the artificial flowers and was killed, suggesting that detrimental scientific discoveries can
destroy innocence by luring unsuspecting individuals into its pitfall and annihilate them. The
psychotic scientist, Giacomo Rappaccini, is described as a sickly, elderly man lacking warmth of
hearth and wearing black clothing. This indicates that the process of making scientific improvements
itself can be damaging to the scientist and can eliminate them of their morals, as black symbolizes evil
which suits Rappaccini due to him seeking human test subjects. Once Beatrice realizes the enormity of
the mischief imposed by Rappaccini, she promptly consumed the phial with the antidote and begins to

This is one of the reasons why many intellectuals and academics claim that their discourses on the
new world recession are the truth. For example, some nations believe that their macro economic
policy is the best solution to get out of this global financial crisis. They are spreading their roots to
become the new hegemony.
However, these discourses also make possible the sharing of cues, ideas and values that contribute to a
better understanding of the global financial crisis, its impacts, causes and implications. They facilitate
the transmission of knowledge that is vital to find means to get out of the crisis and minimise the
negative impacts of the recession. However, transmission also implies that these discourses influence
people s perception and conception of the new world recession. Hence, these discourses confer power
to leaders and academics to manipulate the population to believe what they want the latter to believe.
The Great Recession of the late 2000s started with the subprime crisis in 2007 that has weakened the
economy of almost all the big nations with maybe the exception of the Republic of China. It seems,
when we have a look at economic growth of China that, it has, until now, to some degree, benefited
from the global financial crisis. Indeed, it should be highlighted that when a recession occurs,

The Relationship Between Government Revenue From Taxes And...
The Laffer curve is a concept which explains the relationship between government revenue from taxes
and tax rates. The concept of the Laffer curve is that the higher the tax rate is the lower the output, that
is to say for example, if the government imposed a higher tax rate, production would be lower and
government revenue would therefore be lower. The Laffer curve was developed by an economist by
the name of Arthur Laffer, a professor at the University of Chicago. Arthur Laffer does not take all
credit for this theory, he claimed it was not new and that the concept was pretty straightforward and
people already knew about it many years ago. The origin of the Laffer curve goes back to an article
written by Jude Wanniski, associate editor of the Wall street journal at that time. Sometime in
December of 1974, Wanniski had dinner with Laffer, Donald Rumsfeld who was the chief of staff to
president Gerald Ford, and Rumsfeld s deputy Dick Cheney, who was a former classmate of Laffer at
Yale. All four were having dinner at a restaurant in Washington D.C. while they were talking about
President Ford s Whip Inflation Now proposal for tax increments then suddenly Laffer grabbed a
napkin and a pen then proceeded to sketch a curve on the napkin about the relationship between tax
rates and tax revenues. Jude Wanniski decided to name this relationship The Laffer Curve . And that is
how The Laffer curve began. Vast majority of companies want to maximize their profit, so it

Breaking the Cycle Essay
Crimes committed by youthful offenders in our nation have gone from a troubling statistic that would

for this falls on every citizen and we must all bite the bullet and agree to properly fund programs that
can help to prevent crime, properly rehabilitate prisoners, and save the youth of our nation at the same
time.
Youth gangs have existed in various forms since at least the 19th century, although the nature and
extent of their activity has evolved over time. Over the past 25 years in particular, gangs have

Maybe the readers may think it s no big deal because they have not crunched the numbers . I challenge
those readers to look at the following statistics and then try to honestly say it is no big deal . The
average annual operating cost per State inmate in 2001 was $22,650, or $62.05 per day. Among
facilities operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, it was $22,632 per inmate, or $62.01 per day. (
Stephan, 2004) What logically thinking person would not want an extra $62.01 a day going to hire
new teachers for our local schools? Who among us would not want that extra money going to fix the
potholes on our city s streets or add an extra street light downtown? How do we get those dollars out
of the prison system and back into the public coffers where the can be better used? Once again the
signs seem to point to rehabilitation and crime prevention. Why should we focus our attention on the
youth of our nation? I think the answer to that is plain to see and that answer is crime prevention

This essay will be answering the question What is Hypnosis? . It will describe the psychological and
physical aspects of hypnosis and will be discussing the role of relaxation in hypnotherapy.
It will give a brief history of hypnosis. It will look back over the century s to the many people who

Is is important to know that someone in a trance state can not be made to do something which they
find unacceptable. Once under a trance state it can be terminated at any time by the subject (11)
A session of hypnosis begins with a series of suggestions called the hypnotic induction (12)
The hypnotic induction has several stages.
Firstly the preparation stage, whereby therapist and client can discuss what the client is hoping to
achieve through hypnotherapy. Then the induction, where the hypnotist relaxes the client, and focusses
their attention inwards. Then the deepening of induction, which is where the hypnotist puts the client
into a safe place whereby suggestions or instructions can be given
Followed by the reorientation which is where the client is brought back to full consciousness and
awareness. (13)
Many psychological and physical changes occur whilst under hypnosis.
Some of the psychological aspects are: Attention being focussed inwardly Outside noises are no
longer as significant and sometimes are not able to be heard Visualisation of the muscles relaxing
visualisation of a special place Receptiveness to suggestions made by therapist Psychological

Entity Relationship Diagrams
An entity relationship diagram is the basic design model for any database. It is the major deliverable
for a conceptual database design. It is the logical organization of any data in the database and is
usually made up of three components namely; entities, attributes and relationships. Entities are the
major categories of data in the database and are usually represented by rectangles. Attributes are the
characteristics of the entities and are usually written in the rectangle. Relationships are the connections
between entities and are usually represented using lines joining the rectangles. Entities that share
major characteristics are known as entity types, and are also referred to as classes. An entity instance
is the individual occurrence of one entity type. It is important to define entity types as it makes it
easier to determine the requirements of the database and how it will be structured.
In defining an attribute, the analyst must state the importance of the attribute, the value of the attribute
and whether the value of this attribute can change. When drawing an entity relationship diagram, the
analyst must be aware of the following types of attributes; multi valued attributes, required attributes,
optional attributes, composite attributes and derived attributes. When showing relationships, an
analyst must be aware of three types of relationships; unary (between instances of one entity type),
binary (between instances of two entity types), and ternary (between

The Mystery Ship Research Paper
The Mystery Ship
When I read this story it brought to mind all of those Dracula movies that I have seen where they
show a ship coming into harbor with no one alive aboard or a ship full of corpses. The American ship
Mary Celeste was seen sailing erratically by Captain David Morehouse aboard the British brig Dei
Gratia near the Azores Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The strangest thing was that the ship was
seaworthy and all of its stores and supplies were aboard and untouched but there was not a single
living soul on the vessel.
On November 7, 1872 the Mary Celeste sailed from New York harbor heading for Genoa, Italy.
Aboard the ship were Captain Benjamin S. Briggs, his wife and two year old daughter and a crew of
eight. The cargo consisted

The Invisible Man By Ralph Ellison
Book Review: Invisible Man
Invisible Man is an American Literature novel published by Ralph Ellison in 1952. The novel traces
the experiences of a young college black man growing up in Harlem, New York. Attempting to
succeed in a predominantly white society, the narrator encounters shocks and disillusionments from
being expelled from college to hiding in an underground hole to protect himself from the people
above. He lives a repressed life as an Invisible Man for he believes that society ignores him and only
sees what they want to see. Early in the novel he says, I am invisible, understand, simply because
people refuse to see me. (Ellison 3). The narrator is simply seen as another black man and for that
people do not acknowledge him as an individual. He believes that people refuse to look beyond
themselves and see the man in front. The frustration over this ultimately consumes him and
contributes to his invisible identity.
The narrator begins the story by reminiscing about his invisible life. He recalls the time when he gives
a speech in high school, then is was asked to present it again for the town s white community leaders.
After being humiliated and treated like an animal at the battle royal he is awarded with a scholarship
to the state s black youth college. Through this situation, we learn that even though he is given the
opportunity of a good education, he is reminded that he is to remain in his place as a black man. It
doesn t matter how smart he is or

The Office Satire
In March of 2005, a comedy television show known as The Office premiered in the United States. The

film, including private interviews with each character. The winner of multiple Emmy awards and
Emmy nominations, The Office, aired for nine seasons. With ratings of 8.8/10 from IMDB and 88%
from Rotten Tomatoes it is no surprise that the show is still widely popular today. The mockumentary
documents the daily lives of the office employees at Dunder Mifflin paper company in Scranton,
Pennsylvania. The majority of the show takes place in the company office, hence the name of the
show, The Office. Although The Office is a comedic television show, ... Show more content on

Jim does not verbally communicate his feelings about Pam to her directly or to the documentary
interview crew. Instead, he shows his feelings through subtle hints or actions throughout the episode.
One example of a verbal hint is during an interview with the documentary crew in which Jim says
...Um, Pam s favorite flavor of yogurt, which is mixed berry. Although this seems very minor, it
foreshadows Jim s deeper feelings for Pam. In addition to Jim revealing the subtle hint about his
feelings using the yogurt description, in the Pilot episode he also exhibits his feelings towards Pam in
an indirect way. This is evident by his facial expressions and body language before and after Roy
interrupts Jim and Pam s conversation towards the end of the episode. Before Roy enters the scene,
Jim and Pam are both talking and laughing. They had plans to get drinks after work with the other
employees, when Roy becomes a part of the conversation and commands Pam to leave work with him
instead. Pam leaves the room and Jim and Roy are left alone together, creating a tense and awkward
scenario. It is at this point that we first see Jim s animosity towards Roy. The Pilot episode illustrates
an example of the beginning of what a real, believable relationship could like. The episode shows that
feelings someone has for another person can take time to fully develop, and not all relationships are

In 1981 Apple invited Microsoft to help develop software for Macintosh computers. It was through
this knowledge sharing with Apple that Microsoft was to develop Windows. In November 1985, Bill
Gates and Microsoft launched Windows; nearly two years after his announcement. Visually the
Windows system looked very similar to the Macintosh system Apple Computer Corporation had
introduced nearly two years earlier.
In 1986, Bill Gates took Microsoft public with an initial public offering (IPO) of $21 per share. Gates
held 45 percent of the company s 24.7 million shares and became an instant millionaire at age 31.
Gates s stake at that time was $234 million of Microsoft s $520 million. Over time, the company s
stock increased in value and split numerous times. In 1987, Bill Gates became a billionaire when the
stock raised to $90.75 a share. Since then, Gates has been at the top, or at least near the top, of Forbes
annual list of the top 400 wealthiest people in America. In 1999, with stock prices at an all time high
and the stock splitting eight fold since its IPO, Gates s wealth briefly topped $101 billion.
Several companies started trying to develop their own operating system to replace Microsoft s MS
DOS but Gates pushed ahead with the Windows software, improving its operation and expanding its
uses. In 1989, Microsoft introduced Microsoft Office

The Five Layerss Of The Deep Sea
The deep sea is a dark and mysterious place. So little is known about the deep sea. Even though some
things are not a lot known about The deep sea. There are still some things that is know about the deep
sea such as, there are five layers of the ocean, the hadalpelagic zone, Abyssopelagic Zone,
Bathypelagic Zone, Mesopelagic Zone, Epipelagic Zone. There are four main factors that the deep sea
has. There are also a lot of different creatures in the deep sea, that have different adaptations. Some of
those adaptations are not fully known. In the certain layers of the ocean show a certain Uniqueness.
About 95% of the ocean is not explored. Even though there are five known layers of the ocean, and
there might be more layers in the ocean. The first layer is called the epipelagic zone. this is the surface
layer . It goes down to about 200 m. The surface temperature range from as high as 97F(36C). There is
also the mesopelagic zone. This is called the twilight zone. The sunlight down here is very faint.
Extends from 200m to 1000m. In 1000m to 4000m is the bathypelagic zone, also known as the
midnight zone. The temperature never really changes, it usually stays at 39F. It reaches over 5850
pounds per square inch ( us.gov). The abyssopelagic zone is between 4000 meters, to 6000 meters. In

Should Speed Limits Be Allowed
I feel that the regulation of speed limits is acceptable. It s safe and responsible when driving on certain
roads. Having limitations on the speed limits reduces deaths and injuries from car crashes.
Additionally, having reduced speed limits near parks and schools, protects the community and the
children living there. People should feel a sense of obligation to follow the speed limits when they
drive.
First, I feel when driving with speed limitations make it safer and responsible for drivers. Without
these limitations, it can put people at risk of car crashes. Car crashes occur every day, so imagine if
there were no speed limits at all how many crashes would occur. No one will know how fast or how

Sarbanes Oxley Act In reaction to a number of corporate and accounting scandals which included
Enron Congress passed The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) (Sarbox) also known as the Public
Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act and the Corporate and Auditing
Accountability and Responsibility Act was enacted July 30, 2002. The Sarbane Oxley Act is a US
federal law that created new and expanded laws regarding the requirements for all US public company
boards, management, and accounting firms. The act has a number of provisions that apply to privately
owned companies. The Act addresses the responsibilities of a public corporation s Board of Directors,
adds criminal penalties for misconduct, and requires the SEC to create regulations that define how
public corporations are expected to comply with the law. The SOX increases the penalties a company
pays for fraudulent financial activity, and requires top management to provide individual verification
to certify the accuracy of financial information, while also increasing the oversight role of a company
s Board of Directors and the independence of outside auditors.

Models From Simple Random And Complex Survey Designs
Models (GLM) to data from simple random and complex survey designs. This program supports a
range of sampling distributions including Gaussian, inverse Gaussian, multinomial, binomial, negative
binomial, Bernoulli, Poisson, and gamma. The last program, MAPGLIM can be used to fit GLM
models to the multilevel data. Each of these programs can function as stand alone program.
To estimate a model with missing data, LISREL by default uses the full information maximum
likelihood (FIML) approach. However, users may also opt to impute missing values using either
expectation maximization or Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms. Beginning with version 9.10,
LISREL will automatically provide robust estimation of standard errors and chi square statics if a raw
file is used as a data input. The default estimation method in LISREL is Maximum Likelihood (ML)
even if an estimated asymptotic covariance matrix is provided, but the users may override the default
when setting up the model.
Together, the LISREL 9.2 package makes possible estimations of a wide range of statistical used in
educational research, such as exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA and CFA) with
continuous and ordinal variables, multiple group analysis, multilevel linear and nonlinear models,
latent growth curve models, and generalized linear models (GLM) to complex survey data and simple
random sample data (Byrne 2012; Sörbom 2001).

Analysis Of Miracles By C. S. Lewis
With Strong Evidences: Miracle Can Be Asserted
There have been claims of occurrences of events that are beyond human comprehension in humans
history. Many regard these out of this world experiences as miracle. Although the accounts of these
events varies with places and people, the reports make people consider the possibility of miracle
happening to them even at the absence of factual evidences to support many of these events. C.S.
Lewis, author of Miracles supports this idea that miracles can be taken seriously without firm
evidence to support them, due to the fact that miracle can t be witnessed naturally, we can t prove that
there are no proofs of miracles occurring, and that advancement in science isn t focusing on proving
the existence of an entity outside of nature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unless there exists, in addition to Nature, something else which we may call the supernatural, there
can be no miracles (5), therefore we can assume that miracle can t occur without the consideration of
something else existing outside nature. According to Lewis, super naturalists claim that an entity with
God s attributes exists outside nature (42), and also reveals that God created nature (7). Since God
created nature and He exist outside of natural, proof of miracle cannot be found within nature, and
Lewis describes the occurrence of miracle as they come on great occasions: they are found at the great
ganglions not of political or social history, but of that spiritual history which cannot be fully known by
men (273). Miracle are rare events, and it takes the highly spiritual to witness

  • 3. Prostate Cancer Synthesis Abstract: Prostate cancer is the leading mortality cancer amongst males. This cancer is due to the signaling increase of androgen and androgen receptors, which is a gene that associates with the risk of prostate cancer. Over expression of androgen receptors occurs in androgen independent cancer. Prostate tumors advance to androgen independent state where they progress in the absence of circulating testosterone. Typically, treatments for prostate cancer are surgery and radiation. Most effective treatments in the early stage of prostate cancer includes suppression of AR function either by blocking androgen signaling with anti androgen bicalutanmide (Casodex) or flutamide or by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to the potent androgen ... Although PA is most abundant, EA has been shown in other studies to exhibit anticarcinogenic properties such as induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis as well as the inhabitation of tumor formation and growth particularly in animals. Studies show that consumption of phytochemical rich diet reduces the risk of prostate cancer. With that being said, in this study there were several experiments done to show the correlation of how pomegranate in the form of POMx, PJ, PA and EA will help reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer by reducing the signaling of AR. Although studies have yet to find the mechanism of gene down regulation there have been several studies that show that the LNaCP AR cell line is overexpressed which leads to prostate cancer. In this study the cells lines LNCaP and LNcAP AR cell lines are closely examined. Obviously being a road safety advertisement, the target audience of the advertisement is any drivers and passengers that use cars either on a regular basis or sporadically. An important factor to consider when appealing to a certain audience is the time that the advertisement is shown each day, how often that it is shown and the language that is used throughout the advertisement. Nero was a highly influential Roman leader whose actions where both positive for the Roman Empire and also abused his power by doing negative actions in Rome. No country is immune from the impact of this and the UK, and much of the rest of the world, is already in, or about to enter a recession. The fiscal mitigation measures that were recently announced by the Chancellor (Pre budget statement, November 2008) were not sufficient to address the underlying loss of confidence facing all UK businesses (and people). At present, the latter has effectively ground to a halt largely as a result of the deeply entrenched uncertainty that abound. Jobs Loss of Skills Almost 400,000 jobs in the construction sector in England could be lost over the next two years (assuming GDP shrinks by 2.2% in 2009 and rises by 0.75% in 2010). On the other hand, Eastern Europeans are responding to the downturn in the market by returning home, and this has eased the severity of the job situation in many instances. More specifically, per Ohaeri, Shokunbi, Akinlade, Dare, 1995, SCD is a generic term for a group of genetic disorders characterized by the predominance of sickle cell hemoglobin (Hgb). Hemoglobin is a protein in the red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. The disease produces significantly abnormal Hgb molecules in red blood cells (RBCs). In sickle cell anemia, the red blood cells become rigid and sticky and are shaped like sickles or crescent moons. These irregularly shaped cells can get stuck in small blood vessels, which can slow or block blood flow and oxygen to parts of the body (Ohaeri, Shokunbi, Akinlade, Dare, 1995, p. 955.Individuals ... It is a policy paper pushing for sustainable development, coupled with technological modernisation. This essay will examine TLTG through an ecocentric lens. First, this paper will briefly summarise ecocentrism. Second, it will discuss TLTG and its findings in a contemporary context. It will be argued that TLTG ultimately failed in its ambition, because it utilised a discourse system that did not address key systematic causes of resource depletion. TLTG recognises human s overconsumption and disregard for the Earth s finite resources as a cause of exponential growth. However, it very much focuses on the survival of people rather than the Earth s intrinsic value. An ecocentric perspective argues that each fragment of the Earth has an intangible value and should be treated accordingly; a concept that TLTG does not address. An ecocentric perspective has the propensity to halt the over exploitation that occurs at such an alarming rate. Ecocentrism should be applied on a systemic, domestic and individual level to avoid the Earth s further degradation. Indeed, this would require the re structuring of capitalism. Subsequently, a seemingly radical and alternative discourse system is needed to dominate policy documents such as TLTG. However, there is much meaning behind the abstract work of art. Created in 1930 on a 46x46cm canvas, the oil painting portrays thick, black brushwork separating different figures of rectangles. It was made on the foundation of Neo Plasticism, an artistic movement at that time focusing on the most basic, abstract elements of painting. The black lines run off of the canvas, and seem to never end. Nothing in the painting is alike, all different shapes and colors. Although the painting can seem so beautiful and perfect at first, it may also bring the stress and lust to make to go and align the shapes and lines to make it symmetrical. This is a metaphor for the utopia and dystopia in life. Life can be so calming, yet comes with it, is the tension and anxiety. This movie makes it seem that if you are not an athlete you are lesser of a person. Young people could take the concept of a team as unimportant because of this movie. The film would promote the idea that it is only up to one s self to have success and not the other individuals on the field. Being an athlete could also become an excuse for getting away with things. In Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles uses the fact that he is a really good athlete to take advantage of things he would not be able to get away with if he was not a popular football player in his town. One thing that he does try to get away with is not doing any school work. Younger viewers could get the idea from this movie that by being an athlete, you can get away with things you should not get away with and gain the power to treat individuals poorly. • 29. Thomas Paine Colonies According to Thomas Paine in Common Sense, colonies should break away from Great Britain and declare independence for many reasons. Before explaining his reasons, Thomas Paine was a British Philosopher who found flaws within the British Government and how they run things with their allied countries. Reasons for Paine believing that the colonies should break apart include equality, keeping a relationship with other countries, and having a different form of government opposed to Britain s government. The reading implies that Paine is stating that the other colonies should break away from Great Britain because of equality rights. Equality in a country is a big problem, especially in a country who has no say in their equality. In the passage, it states, Where there are no distinctions there can be no superiority, perfect equality affords no temptation. This quote explains what equality is and it how with equality would cause nothing, but peace. Also, Paine states, The republics of Europe are all (and we may say always) in peace. This quote shows an example of how with equality, the republics of Europe can be peaceful and calm. The psychotic scientist, Giacomo Rappaccini, is described as a sickly, elderly man lacking warmth of hearth and wearing black clothing. This indicates that the process of making scientific improvements itself can be damaging to the scientist and can eliminate them of their morals, as black symbolizes evil which suits Rappaccini due to him seeking human test subjects. The concept of the Laffer curve is that the higher the tax rate is the lower the output, that is to say for example, if the government imposed a higher tax rate, production would be lower and government revenue would therefore be lower. The Laffer curve was developed by an economist by the name of Arthur Laffer, a professor at the University of Chicago. Arthur Laffer does not take all credit for this theory, he claimed it was not new and that the concept was pretty straightforward and people already knew about it many years ago. The origin of the Laffer curve goes back to an article written by Jude Wanniski, associate editor of the Wall street journal at that time. Sometime in December of 1974, Wanniski had dinner with Laffer, Donald Rumsfeld who was the chief of staff to president Gerald Ford, and Rumsfeld s deputy Dick Cheney, who was a former classmate of Laffer at Yale. All four were having dinner at a restaurant in Washington D.C. while they were talking about President Ford s Whip Inflation Now proposal for tax increments then suddenly Laffer grabbed a napkin and a pen then proceeded to sketch a curve on the napkin about the relationship between tax rates and tax revenues. It is the logical organization of any data in the database and is usually made up of three components namely; entities, attributes and relationships. Entities are the major categories of data in the database and are usually represented by rectangles. Attributes are the characteristics of the entities and are usually written in the rectangle. Relationships are the connections between entities and are usually represented using lines joining the rectangles. Entities that share major characteristics are known as entity types, and are also referred to as classes. An entity instance is the individual occurrence of one entity type. It is important to define entity types as it makes it easier to determine the requirements of the database and how it will be structured. In defining an attribute, the analyst must state the importance of the attribute, the value of the attribute and whether the value of this attribute can change. Attempting to succeed in a predominantly white society, the narrator encounters shocks and disillusionments from being expelled from college to hiding in an underground hole to protect himself from the people above. He lives a repressed life as an Invisible Man for he believes that society ignores him and only sees what they want to see. Jim does not verbally communicate his feelings about Pam to her directly or to the documentary interview crew. Instead, he shows his feelings through subtle hints or actions throughout the episode. One example of a verbal hint is during an interview with the documentary crew in which Jim says ...Um, Pam s favorite flavor of yogurt, which is mixed berry. Although this seems very minor, it foreshadows Jim s deeper feelings for Pam. In addition to Jim revealing the subtle hint about his feelings using the yogurt description, in the Pilot episode he also exhibits his feelings towards Pam in an indirect way. This is evident by his facial expressions and body language before and after Roy interrupts Jim and Pam s conversation towards the end of the episode. Before Roy enters the scene, Jim and Pam are both talking and laughing. They had plans to get drinks after work with the other employees, when Roy becomes a part of the conversation and commands Pam to leave work with him instead. Pam leaves the room and Jim and Roy are left alone together, creating a tense and awkward scenario. It is at this point that we first see Jim s animosity towards Roy. The Pilot episode illustrates an example of the beginning of what a real, believable relationship could like. The episode shows that feelings someone has for another person can take time to fully develop, and not all relationships are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are still some things that is know about the deep sea such as, there are five layers of the ocean, the hadalpelagic zone, Abyssopelagic Zone, Bathypelagic Zone, Mesopelagic Zone, Epipelagic Zone. There are four main factors that the deep sea has. There are also a lot of different creatures in the deep sea, that have different adaptations. Some of those adaptations are not fully known. Even though there are five known layers of the ocean, and there might be more layers in the ocean. The first layer is called the epipelagic zone. this is the surface layer . It goes down to about 200 m. The surface temperature range from as high as 97F(36C). There is also the mesopelagic zone. This is called the twilight zone. The sunlight down here is very faint. Extends from 200m to 1000m. In 1000m to 4000m is the bathypelagic zone, also known as the midnight zone. The temperature never really changes, it usually stays at 39F. It reaches over 5850 pounds per square inch ( us.gov). The abyssopelagic zone is between 4000 meters, to 6000 meters. In this zone it is pitch black. Abyss comes from a Greek word meaning no bottom. Having limitations on the speed limits reduces deaths and injuries from car crashes. Additionally, having reduced speed limits near parks and schools, protects the community and the children living there. People should feel a sense of obligation to follow the speed limits when they drive. First, I feel when driving with speed limitations make it safer and responsible for drivers. Without these limitations, it can put people at risk of car crashes. Car crashes occur every day, so imagine if there were no speed limits at all how many crashes would occur. This program supports a range of sampling distributions including Gaussian, inverse Gaussian, multinomial, binomial, negative binomial, Bernoulli, Poisson, and gamma. The last program, MAPGLIM can be used to fit GLM models to the multilevel data. Each of these programs can function as stand alone program. To estimate a model with missing data, LISREL by default uses the full information maximum likelihood (FIML) approach. However, users may also opt to impute missing values using either expectation maximization or Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms. Beginning with version 9.10, LISREL will automatically provide robust estimation of standard errors and chi square statics if a raw file is used as a data input. The default estimation method in LISREL is Maximum Likelihood (ML) even if an estimated asymptotic covariance matrix is provided, but the users may override the default when setting up the model. Together, the LISREL 9.2 package makes possible estimations of a wide range of statistical used in educational research, such as exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA and CFA) with continuous and ordinal variables, multiple group analysis, multilevel linear and nonlinear models, latent growth curve models, and generalized linear models (GLM) to complex survey data and simple random sample data (Byrne 2012; Sörbom 2001). • 49. Analysis Of Miracles By C. S. Lewis With Strong Evidences: Miracle Can Be Asserted There have been claims of occurrences of events that are beyond human comprehension in humans history. Many regard these out of this world experiences as miracle. Although the accounts of these events varies with places and people, the reports make people consider the possibility of miracle happening to them even at the absence of factual evidences to support many of these events. C.S. Lewis, author of Miracles supports this idea that miracles can be taken seriously without firm evidence to support them, due to the fact that miracle can t be witnessed naturally, we can t prove that there are no proofs of miracles occurring, and that advancement in science isn t focusing on proving the existence of an entity outside of nature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unless there exists, in addition to Nature, something else which we may call the supernatural, there can be no miracles (5), therefore we can assume that miracle can t occur without the consideration of something else existing outside nature. According to Lewis, super naturalists claim that an entity with God s attributes exists outside nature (42), and also reveals that God created nature (7). Since God created nature and He exist outside of natural, proof of miracle cannot be found within nature, and Lewis describes the occurrence of miracle as they come on great occasions: they are found at the great ganglions not of political or social history, but of that spiritual history which cannot be fully known by men (273).
