Summary Of The Glass Menagerie
In the reading of The Glass Menagerie, we see how Laura, Tom, Jim O Conner, and Amanda are
trying to escape his or her situation. In this final paper we will see how they were trapped, and what
they done to be released from their caged life. You will see how Amanda lives in the past, Laura lives
in her own little world, Tom is living for the present and looking for the best way out, and Jim O
Conner is trying to become someone famous..
Have you ever felt like a caged bird? I have! When I lived at home I had a very strict father. Every
scenario went through my mind on how I could get out of my dad s house. Just like me, the characters
in this play felt the same way. Amanda, a nagging mother, who wants the best for her children, Laura
is in her own world, Tom wants to be free, and Jim O Connor who was trying to better himself. These
are the characters in the play try to escape their reality in many different ways. Amanda, a mother of
two, lives in a house in St. Louis. She only wants the best for her children, but she is an overbearing
parent. She holds splendid qualities but her personality is of a difficult obstacle to sympathize
(Fambrough, Preston) 2005. She would even take on a job of selling subscriptions of the Home maker
s Companion, so she could get extra money to help support the family. She was married to a man who
fell in love with long distances, and the last time she had heard from him was on a postcard that said

Sephor A Retail Chain Of Perfume And Cosmetics Stores Essay
1. About Sephora
Sephora is a retail chain of perfume and cosmetics stores founded in 1969 by Dominique
Mandonnaud. It first started as a small perfumery in Limoges, France, called Shop 8 and was
revolutionary at that time due to its concept of assisted self service . The store had an open sell setting
where customers could try the products before they bought them and where the organisation of the
products was by type, not by brand as in every other store.
In 1993, Mandonnaud bought 38 retail cosmetics stores from the UK s Boots PLC chain and merged
them with the 12 Shop 8 stores that the company already had at that time. The stores were then
rebranded to what is known today as Sephora.
Although Sephora s initial strategy was to expand within France and its surroundings such as Monaco
and Luxembourg, after the company was acquired by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) in 1997,
it started pursuing a global international strategy. With every store around the world, Sephora
maintains similar products, overall atmosphere and services and every strategic decision is made by
the higher management at the headquarters.
Its first international store was opened in 1998 in New York City and the company began to expand in
the European market, starting with Italy. However, not every country was hospitable to Sephora s
expansion such as the United Kingdom, Spain and Japan, where the company struggled.
Nowadays, the Sephora brand is available in 31 countries having over 2000 stores

Child Rearing Styles Are Different As The Parents Are
Nashika Turner 2/26/2015 DEP2004 Professor Hernandez Child rearing styles are as different as the
parents are. Child rearing is a standout amongst the most difficult and troublesome obligations an
individual can confront. The way a family is organized is known as the child rearing style. Child
rearing styles are accumulations of parental state of mind, practices, and non verbal interpretations
that portray the way of guardian kid connections. Since people figure out how to parent from a wide
range of samples including their own guardians, good examples, society and backgrounds. Child
rearing procedures can fluctuate significantly from family unit to family unit, then again, specialists
accept that child rearing styles can be separated into four fundamental classifications which
permissive, authoritarian, authoritative, and neglectful. The style of child rearing with which kids are
raised can significantly influence their social advancement, and also their capacities to manage life
circumstances as grown ups. Folks who take after the lenient style of child rearing have not very many
standards, no predictable cutoff points, and as a rule offer into their kids. In a tolerant family, the kids
are in control. Authoritative Parenting Authoritative child rearing is one of the better known methods
for raising up the children, without going excessively high on freedom or order. Definitive folks know

Technology During The Twentieth Century
Technology had a great influence on literature in the early twentieth century. This was the era of
Women s Suffrage Movement and the Great War both of which had an impact on literature. The
Women s Movement challenged long held ideals that men were superior in both mind and body, but
more importantly, activists used technology to advance their cause. Five thousand women marched on
Washington in order to gain media attention and support, and this coverage eventually led to the
ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment (Belasco and Johnson 489). World War I saw the use of
modern warfare including chemical weapons and airplanes, tanks, and the machine gun. This
technology made war more horrible and more complex than previous wars. This was also the time of
jazz music, the flapper, and full length talking movies (498 499). Moreover, mass market magazines
and Book of the Month clubs along with the increase students pursuing higher education meant a
higher demand for novels (500, 502). All of these advances created the age of modernism.
The modernism movement embraced painting, music, literature, and challenged previous styles and
traditions. Influenced by changes brought on by the technology and the destruction of the Great War,
the modernist writer questioned authority and established ideas. They broke away from the way things
were normally done. They examined closely the inner self along with the greater whole and sought

Persuasive Letter To A Pet
As the new year approaches, you should think about resolutions not just for yourself, but you should
also think about resolutions that would benefit your pets. Here are a few new year s resolutions that
would greatly benefit your dogs and cats.
#1 Update Or Create An ID For Your Pet
If you don t have an ID for your pet, the start of a New Year is a great time time to invest in a
identification tag for you pet that has their name on it as well as your contact information.
If you pet s identification tag is out of date and contains contact information for you that is no longer
valid, get it updated. That way, if anything every happens to your pet, whomever finds them will be
able to get in touch with you.
#2 Teach Your Pet A New Trick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
#4 Groom Your Pet On A Regular Basis
Finally, make sure that you keep up on your pet s grooming this year.
If you have a dog, sit with it and brush its coat at least once a day. This will only take a few minutes to
do every day and will result in multiple positive benefits. If you brush your dog s coat everyday, more
of their lose fur will end up on their brush instead of around your house. Brushing your dog everyday
should reduce the amount of fur around your house. Additionally, it will help spread the oils on your
dog s skin to their fur, which will help keep their fur looking and feeling healthy. Finally, its a great
way to bond with your dog.
You can also brush your cat as well on a daily basis if they will let you. Many cat s prefer to groom
themselves, but if you start young, your cat should allow you to groom it as well.
Remember grooming extends to your pet s teeth as well. At least once a week, you should brush your
dog or cat s teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste specifically designed for pets. You can also stay on
top of their dental healthy by providing them with treats and chewy toys that are designed to
specifically combat tarter and keep their teeth

The Pros And Cons Of The Overland Campaign
The Overland Campaign, which saw the bloodiest fighting in the continent of North American, was a
necessary evil to end the American Civil War. Starting on May 4th of 1864, the newly promoted
Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant committed to destroying Robert E. Lee and his Army of Northern
Virginia in the field. First, one must look at what the Overland Campaign entailed. Next, this paper
will examine previous major Northern victories and consider the differences between them and Grant
s campaign. Finally, one can come to the conclusion that the Overland Campaign effectively helped
end the war and without it, fighting was sure to be prolonged. After his successes in the West, U. S.
Grant became the first Lieutenant General since George Washington on March 2nd of 1864 and
assumed command of the entire Union Army. Hopes were high for General Grant, seen in a letter the
previous year, President Abraham Lincoln expressed his trust for Grant when he that he originally
feared it was a mistake in regards to his attack on Vicksburg and I now wish to make the personal
acknowledgment that you were right, and I was wrong. Heretofore, Union Generals in the East
focused on capturing specific cities, however, Grant wanted to cripple the Confederate Army. In a
letter from Grant to Major General George Meade before the Overland Campaign began, he outlined
his intentions of the operation, writing that Lee s army will be your objective point. Wherever Lee
goes, there you will go

The Neolithic Era, Or New Stone Age
AR6_SA_U1_L11_LC
Introduction and Objective
The Neolithic Era, or New Stone Age, was a period in the development of human technology.
Traditionally considered the last part of the Stone Age, the Neolithic commenced with the beginning
of farming. Metal tools became widespread, along with the use of wild and domestic crops and of
domesticated animals.
When people think of pottery, they might think of bowls and cups, of eating and drinking. But pottery
can, in fact, be art as well. During the Neolithic Era, most of this pottery was hand built. These red,
gray, and black wares often revealed a craftsmanship and beauty exceptional for their age.
http://mrg.bz/Tt8E3p
Of course, clay isn t exactly glamorous. Once the crafting of bronze, lacquer, and precious metals
were mastered, the ritual status afforded ceramics declined. Soon after, ceramic shapes began to
imitate those of metal almost as soon as the latter appeared.
There are four main types of Neolithic pottery:
Neolithic soft ware
Djeitun ware
Ismailabad ware
Burnished gray ware
Let s explore these forms of Neolithic ceramics and how they defined the art of the time period.
Today s lesson objective is: The student will learn about Neolithic ceramics.
Take a moment to think about this objective. What learning skills will you use to achieve this goal?
Why do you think pottery was so important to the Neolithic artists? Do you think pottery is more of a
useful tool or an art form? How do you think the Cave

Face Recognition
Hi class,
You already mentioned some very interesting examples of where face recognition could be used or
already is in use. Authentication is needed more and more in a digitalized world. At first, I thought
face recognition could be useful for unlocking phones or open door locks, for example. But I came to
notice that there are situations in which this face recognition could actually be disturbing or even
dangerous. Imagine a person having an accident and somebody tries to call for help using the cell
phone of this person. Help could be hindered by a phone only unlocking through face recognition of
the owner. A similar situation would arise in a burning house. The owner being trapped inside,
firefighters may not be able to enter the house for help as quickly as they could without a face
recognition lock. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of using a credit or debit card with a pin number or signature, you could use face recognition
to identify the card owner. There is no situation I can think of in which somebody else would legally
have to use somebody else s bank card. Another positive aspect of face recognition in bank business
would be people not having to remember so many pin numbers. Many ATMs already have cameras
installed, so why not use those cameras for authentication? Even in stores cameras could be used to
identify people. The same applies for bank counters or online banking services. Especially the topic of
online credit card fraud would be interesting for using face recognition, as a lot of fraud is committed
over the anonymity of the

Impact of Computers On Society
2010
The concept of a computing device was there since the 19th century but the actual device was not
invented until the 1930s. The computers invented at that time served as a project to simplify scientific
calculations and they fulfilled that task quite perfectly. Later on these were used to store data such as
the process and calculations. At that time, people knew that this device was something which will
never die like every important invention does for eg. The abacus( though still used in lager parts of
china ), the slide rule etc. . They knew that the computer was and will remain the most important

Internet is a short form of the technical term internetwork , the result of interconnecting computer
networks with special gateways (routers). The Internet is also often referred to as the Net.
Although the basic applications and guidelines that make the Internet possible had existed for almost
two decades, the network did not gain a public face until the 1990s. On 6 August 1991, CERN, a pan
European organization for particle research, publicized the new World Wide Web project. The Web
was invented by British scientist Tim Berners Lee in 1989. An early popular web browser was
ViolaWWW, patterned after HyperCard and built using the X Window System. It was eventually
replaced in popularity by the Mosaic web browser. In 1993, the National Center for Supercomputing
Applications at the University of Illinois released version 1.0 of Mosaic, and by late 1994 there was
growing public interest in the previously academic, technical Internet. By 1996 usage of the word
Internet had become commonplace, and consequently, so had its use as a synecdoche in reference to
the World Wide Web.
Meanwhile, over the course of the decade, the Internet successfully accommodated the majority of
previously existing public computer networks (although some networks, such as FidoNet, have
remained separate). During the late 1990s, it was estimated that traffic on the public Internet grew by
100 percent per year, while the mean annual growth in the number of Internet users was thought to be

Legitimacy Of The Iraq War
The Iraq War was the culmination of a decades long trend of tension between the United States and
Iraq. The 2003 invasion which market the formal start of the war was precipitated by the Bush
administration s belief that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), and as a result
posed a direct threat not only to the US, but to its sovereign allies as well. Furthermore, the Iraq The
motivations, evidence, and legitimacy of the war have come under heavy scrutiny as many of the

addition to this the amount of destruction that resulted in many cities as a result of bombing had

The Hopelessness Theory of Depression
The hopelessness theory of depression is a reformulated theory of helplessness and depression.
Hopelessness depression is a proposed subset of depression with strong implications about the power
of perception. There are many negative symptoms, which accompany hopelessness depression.
Hopelessness is the sufficient cause of hopelessness depression and is a phenomenon, which deserves
a lot of attention. This paper reviews the various elements of hopelessness depression, reviews its
causes and consequences, explores treatment courses and takes at the implications of hopelessness.
CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES
Hopelessness depression is characterized by the feelings of hopelessness. The feeling of hopelessness
can be arrived to through many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proximate causes are closer to the onset of the symptoms than distal causes. In addition to the time
gap between the cause and the manifested symptoms another factor to consider is to what extent do
the events contribute to the onset of the depressive symptoms. It is important to remember that the
impact of hopelessness depression symptoms on an individual is a direct product his/her perception of
the impact of the life event.
SYMPTOMS
Hopelessness depression is characterized by two distinguished symptoms: a) retarded motivation and
b) sad affect. These two symptoms come from the belief that motivation to try will be worthless and
sadness is derived from this sense of a bleak future. Such a hopeless attitude can also result in lowered
self esteem especially if they feel as though they will not succeed in various activities in relation to
their peers. The length of the disorder ranges depending on how lasting the event is perceived to be
and the lack of social support
TREATMENT
Since negative life events are theorized to bring the feeling of hopelessness, positive life events are
thus presumed to bring on the feelings of hopefulness. Essentially, to prevent the manifestation of
depressive symptomatology, the hopeless individual must perceive the life event as an occurrence that
is finite in nature and can be controlled with sensible amount of motivation. An extension of this
method would involve addressing the behavior of

Antidepressants And The Monoamine Theory Of Depression
1. Introduction
1.1. Depression: definition, symptoms and classification
Depression is defined by the DSM IV as a mental disorder characterized by sustained depression of
mood, anhedonia, sleep and appetite disturbances, feelings of worthlessness, guilt, and hopelessness.
Depressive symptoms such as the mere inability to experience pleasure and loss of energy persisting
for longer than two weeks are usually enough to indicate an affective disorder (Hirschfeld 2014).
There are significant variations in presentations and diagnosis criteria, but regardless of the
classification of depressive states (Major (Unipolar), Bipolar, Dysthymia, Atypical, SAD,
Postpartum), it is agreed upon that pharmacological interventions are sometimes required: to alleviate
debilitating symptoms and improve patients quality of life. The interest in depression medications
reflects the gravity of the disease i.e. its ability to psychologically impair lives and lead to suicide.

A Song For Lya Analysis
George R.R. Martin s A Song for Lya follows two telepathic lovers, Robb and Lyanna, who are pulled
apart by their want and yet inability to understand each other. Published in 1974, it and won the Hugo
Award for Best Novella in the following year. The story explores the connectivity between individuals
and society. The origins of literature are people telling their own stories in order to create a sense of
community. George R.R. Martin highlights the genesis of literature by telling a story of human nature
that is set within a much larger story.
Set on a planet, the novella depicts the Shkeen, an alien race that practices a cult like religion. They

Before the genesis of writing, people s stories were often personal stories and with that, the culture of
a society was shown through the characters and setting. For example, Of Mice and Men tells the story
of George s and Lenny s friendship; however, it is only a meter within the song of the American
Depression. Many fantasy stories, such as Lord of the Rings, work well because the characters and the
setting have culture as characters and stories that do not have the same depth often fall flat. The same
is true for A Song for Lya. Many science fiction and fantasy stories universes only extend as far as the
story will take them, making them appear superficial. The novella, on the other hand, is part of George
R.R. Martin s Thousand Worlds universe, in which humans have battled an alien race called the
Hrangan Minds and have colonized to different planets. Despite there being no war in the story, there
is culture to the story. The telepathic culture that Robb and Lyanna are both part of is vain and when
the protagonists visit the culture of the Shkeen, they are humbled not only by the different language,
food, and religion, but also by their superiority in telepathy and

Preventing Still Births and Miscarriages Essay
Many women have a time in their life where they have a pregnancy loss whether it s an abortion,
miscarriage, or stillborn. A lot of mothers go into depression when the loss of their baby is out of their
control such as miscarriages and still born. There are family members very close to me who went
through this such as my mother who had a miscarriage with in the first trimester and my first cousin
who had at still born in fourth trimester. This information is imperative so women can be careful when
they are pregnant; also before the pregnancy occurs the information in particular about stillborn and

With fallopian tube problems there could be liquid in the tube which cause disruption within the

get stuck, begin to grow within the tube itself then burst. With the uterine/cervical problem an egg

Symbiotic Lion King
Ecology is how organisms interact with each other and the environment. The Lion King is linked to
ecology by showing how organisms interact with each other and the environment. My three topics are
how symbiotic relationships are important to a community, how limiting factors affect a community,
how communities respond to abiotic or biotic factors, and how this is linked to the movie and Ecology.
Symbiotic Relationships are interactions between two species and how they affect each other. There
are three different types of symbiotic relationships Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism.
Symbiotic Relationships are related to ecology because they both talk about interaction with others.
One example from the Lion King is when the birds go onto the tusk of the elephant. This is an
example of Commensalism because the birds are eating insects off the Elephant s tusk and the

These factors will affect how organisms will behavior and how organisms will survive. An example is
when the hyenas came to pride rock. This is a biotic factor because it affected the whole pride land by
making the herds leave and making everyone hungry. Another example is when water became scarce
in the pride land. This is an Abiotic factor because it made the populations leave the pride land and
everyone scours for water. The examples from the movie happen in real life because when someone
like the hyenas comes to a community they always disrupt the community. An example from real life
is in the Tundra, plants have to adapt to the very long cold winters because the sun does not come up.
This is an example of Abiotic factor because it shows the plants have to respond in order to survive.

White Privilege Vs White Privilege
White privilege and black privilege
As I start to type this paper I really don t know how to start. It took me the day before my first draft is
due to start writing. Not because I was lazy and waited last minute, but because this is such a touchy
subject to speak on.(6) I was sitting there at the kitchen table with my mom asking her what I should
and shouldn t say. She told me, Danielle you don t need to worry about what you should or shouldn t
say. You need to be real about white privilege and just address it. If people don t know that being
white STILL is a privilege in 2017, then honey they re not living in the real world. What is white
privilege? It s the level of societal advantage that comes with being seen as the norm in America,
automatically conferred irrespective of wealth, gender or other factors. It makes life smoother, but it s
something you would barely notice unless it were suddenly taken away or unless it had never applied
to you in the first place. (Emba.) White privilege is the norm to a lot of my fellow peers have and don
t even realize it. An example would be that it s not likely that store security or law enforcement
officers harass them, pull them over or follow them because of the color of their skin tone.
A mythical concept, black people do not have black privilege. Literally the only things black people
can do that white people can t are: say the n word, benefit from affirmative action (but trump is in the
process of removing that).

Joseph Von Faunhofer Research Paper
Joseph von Fraunhofer was a German optician and physicist who discovered and influenced how
astronomers view the dark line spectrum, the spectrum of the sun and the diffraction of light. On
March 6, 1787 in Straubing, Bavaria, Joseph Ritter von Fraunhofer was born into a poor family where
his father Franz Xaver Fraunhofer was a watch glass maker. At the age of 10, Joseph s mother, Maria
Anna Frohlich passed away, and only a year after his father died. This left Fraunhofer orphaned and
forced him to start working as an apprentice for a harsh lens maker named Philipp Anton
Weichelsberger. This was appropriate because since the age of 10 Joseph was already working in his
family s workshop. Weichelsberger used Fraunhofer primarily as slave labor, often driving him to near
starvation and exhaustion. However, on July 21, 1801, the workshop in which Fraunhofer was
working in collapsed. Although it seemed like a tragic incident at the time, in hindsight this changed
Joseph von Fraunhofer s life for the better, and therefore changed the course of astronomy. This
collapse caused a rescue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had been using a very thin slit to separate the light into its component colors, but discovered that a
wire mesh could be assembled in which the holes would act as hundreds of very thin slits. This was
effective because the wire mesh would split, then re split the passing light. Thus, in 1821 he

Essay on Progression of the Kouroi
Progression of the Kouroi
What is a kouros? In Greek, kouros means a young man. In art, a kouros is a statue of a young nude
male who stands with his hands at his sides and one leg, usually his left, advanced.
Throughout the Archaic period, which dates from 610 B.C. to 480 B.C., the basic pose of kouroi
(plural for kouros) remained the same, though the anatomy of the figures gradually became more
naturalistic or true to life. The ideology that the Greek sculptors wanted to achieve greater naturalism
is proven through the progression of the kouroi during the period.
At a glance, three main features deem the Getty Kouros under the general classification of a kouros:
hands, hair, and feet. The hands are clenched into fists. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Despite this, the Kouros was put on display on October 1986. During the early nineties, a fake marble
torso that is similar to the Getty Kouros is discovered. Therefore, the fake torso was purchased for
research and the Kouros was removed from the display for reevaluation of the previous studies. In
May of 1992, the Kouros was displayed in Athens, Greece, at an international conference on its
authenticity. Although the majority of art historians and archeologists condemn it, most of the
scientists believe the Kouros to be authentic. Up to this day, the question of the Getty Kouros
authenticity remains a mystery for the statue is still dated as Greek, 530 B.C. or modern forgery.
The controversy of the authenticity of the Getty Kouros will be addressed shortly after the
characterization of the kouros.
Kroisos, a kouros from a cemetery at Anavysos, most resembles the Getty Kouros. By comparing the
Getty Kouros shown at different angles with Kroisos a lot of similarities can be seen. The placement
of the feet on the base in relation to the position of the hands and the shoulders, as well as details of
the head, can help to determine whether a kouros turns to the left or right. This subtle movement in
either direction is found among all authentic kouroi. The bent (or broken) axis of the left foot of the

A Dream For A World Without Food Labels Essay
A Dream for a World Without Food Labels In his essay My Dream Food Label, Mark Bittman makes
the case that current food labels, while providing the consumer with ample information, do not
indicate whether or not the food contained is really beneficial . Bittman argues that labels should
additionally involve clear graphics, such as a traffic light indicating the healthiness of the food, as well
as criteria such as hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, etc. These criteria would ideally also include the
production of the food, particularly the welfare of the workers and animals involved, and perhaps even
the carbon footprint of the food. Bittman ultimately uses such advocacy for food label reform to
support his own proposed food label design, equipped with a 15 point color coded scale ranking the
food according to its nutrition, as it currently exists, foodiness , or how close the food is to real food ,
and welfare , or the overall treatment of the workers, animals, and environment. While his arguments
for food labels are well intentioned, attempting to address serious issues, Bitman s supposed solutions
are highly flawed. Bittman s call for greater awareness, responsibility, and sustainability of the welfare
involved with the food industry is admirable. The widespread access to food from all over the world
has certainly created great ambiguity around food sources. As a result, food production and transport
methods can evade public awareness, individuals

Advertising Vs Populism
Commercials airing on the television or radio, the billboards on the side of the freeways trying to grab
your attention to buy their product, even while scrolling through various social media platforms, we
go through our day to day lives with advertisements all around us. In Jack Solomon s essay, Masters
of Desire: The Culture of American Advertising, he states that the main purpose of all these
advertisements is to show us our unhappiness within the American dream. He goes on to describe the
differences in these advertisements which are known as the populist ads and the elite ads. Solomon s
description of the contradiction between populism and elitism very much affects the way advertising
and media is portrayed in American society. This contradiction brings forth the purpose of these
different advertisements, the audience in which it is intended for. For example, the elite
advertisements are presented to American society on beautiful glossy stock paper within magazines, or
in luxury car commercials where the extraordinary cars can be seen zooming along the coast or back
roads enjoying the drive up to the cabin. With all these flashy advertisements one can only assume that
an ...extraordinary car deserves an extraordinary advertisement, and that both [the] car and [the] ad are
aimed [towards an] extraordinary consumer... (Solomon 168). These elite advertisements start to
scrutinize the audience s financial status. They do this to start determining if the advertised

To Do No Harm the Focus of Safety
In 1852 Florence Nightingale wrote It may seem a strange principle to enunciate as the very first
requirement in a hospital that it should do the sick no harm . The goal of any medical facility should
be that no preventable harm should befall the patient. Though this may seem to be an obvious goal,
this very goal took second place to medical and scientific advances. In 2000, the article To Err is
Human: Building a Safer Health System published by the Institute of Medicine, drew attention back to
what had once been a foundational goal of patient safety when in the care of the health system. Today,
preventable medical errors responsible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), an estimated 1.7 million infections resulting in
99,000 deaths occur as a result of hospital acquired infections each year. The health care worker s
hands are the most common mode of transmission of healthcare associated pathogens. Hand hygiene
remains the leading preventive practice that can break the chain in the spread of hospital infections.
However, this problem is still one of the most overlooked preventive measures in patient care. To
improve the performance of hand hygiene among health care workers, performance barriers such as
time, forgetfulness, and poor access to hand hygiene materials need to be addressed. Consistent
performance improvement with this practice insures a reduction in infection rates and is a major
component not only of patient protection, but healthcare providers as well.
To err is human, but the health care system is working hard to decrease the frequency of this occurring
by applying knowledge gained from research to actual clinical practice. For example, the prevention
of medication errors is vital to patient safety. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), defines
medication errors as any preventable event that may cause or lead to inappropriate medication use or
patient harm while the medication

The ongoing genocide in Darfur is in desperate need of help. As the first genocide of the 20th century

Sextus Empiricus
Being called a skeptic is sometimes understood and mistaken for being the wrong way of thinking.
This way of thinking is difficult to grasp especially for someone who does not know what scepticism
really means. In the article Sextus Empiricus, scepticism is defined as an ability, or mental attitude
which opposes appearances to judgements in any way whatsoever with the result of mental suspense
and state of quietude. In other words, scepticism is having doubts about an opinion that seems not to
be true. Being sceptic doesn t necessarily mean that you question everything but instead seek to find
enough reason to make an opinion true. This article begins to discuss how a Pyrrhonian, sceptic tries
to reach a state of tranquility and quietude. However quietude cannot be achieved if a suspension of
judgment exists. It is said that suspicion come from our differences of our senses. To illustrate, an

Love And A Little Malice
Come December with love and a little malice.
December is regarded the month of romance and love. The chill turns into a fire when the love attains
its climax. The rain and snow become a catalyst to warm and join the broken hearts. Lovers admire
this month for rekindling their lost dreams. December is the month of Christmas, the month of the
birth of a great prophet JESUS. This prophet of peace loved his enemies and comforted them all. Jesus
always stood with poor and disenfranchised, fed and healed them, preached against the power bases of
society and government and refused to draw weapons against the Roman soldiers when they came to
arrest him. He knew that making an enemy is not the way to make friends since making enemies has
predictable consequences, the enemies naturally fight back, he urged for kindness and forgiveness.
The believers kept alive the gesture and upheld the values he taught. JESUS knew the world was but a
hell without love and compassion. Hence, he transacted his life for love and erased the sins of others.
Muslims around the world adulate the impact this magnificent prophet created in human history that
condemned hatred and violence. Muslim also treats the followers of JESUS as the right people of the
holy book.
It is, however, bewildering to realize, in contrast, the contemporary intellectuals and politicians
untiringly demonize faith, nations and race. None of the virtues of Jesus were adhered to by the
politicians and most of the others who claim to

The Commercialization Of Christmas And Easter
We live in a very materialistic society where not even religion can escape the lure of commercialism.
Although advances in technology have made consumerism more readily available to people world

commercialization of Christmas and Easter stands out amongst holidays celebrated by Christians;
other religions also include elaborate festivities and gift giving during their religious celebrations. In

In recent years, Christmas holiday shopping has begun earlier and earlier, starting even before the end
of October. Stores, street lights, and houses are decorated with brightly colored lights, animatronics,
and inflatable images of Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and the Grinch. Holiday sales begin on Thanksgiving
instead of Black Friday, making it impossible for salespeople to spend time with family, enjoying food
and games while reflecting on all that the family has to be thankful for. Admittedly, I am not a fan of
shopping on Black Friday, but I have friends that say that getting up early and rushing around stores
for special bargains is a fun family tradition; however, it seems that every year there are media reports
of people being injured or fights breaking out over getting that one all important item. Many people go

The Effects Of Irradiation
Exposure to ionizing radiation induces oxidative damage that leads to alteration of tissue physiological
function as observed in the present study. This was evidenced by significant elevation in kidney MDA
content. These results match the increase in lipid peroxidation post irradiation obtained by Srinivasan
et al. (2007) and Pratheeshkumar and kuttan (2011). Free radicals generated by irradiation react with
unsaturated lipids generating hydroperoxides, which in turn can induce changes in lipid bilayer
thereby altering the membrane permeability and inducing lipid peroxidation (Suzuki et al. 1997). Also,
significant elevation of kidney GSH contents were observed in irradiated rats. This increase in GSH

1997) or due to radiation induced deterioration in liver detoxification function (Robbins et al. 2001).
In addition, the increment in serum urea level which is the major end product of protein catabolism
may be also due to excess degradation of protein post irradiation (Moulder et al. 2002). Results of the
present study also showed that whole body gamma irradiation at 6.5Gy evoked a sharp increase in
glucose level and decrease in Mg kidney content. Hyperglycemia has been found post irradiation due
to minimized utilization of glucose by injured tissues as well as acceleration of gluconeogenesis which
is indirect result of irradiation (Abdel Salam et al. 2006). The hypomagnesaemia may be due to
insufficient renal function or excess release through damaged cells post irradiation (Kotb et al. 1990).
Lipid metabolism abnormalities, is a characteristic consequence of renal insufficiency (Trevisan et al.
2006). In the present study, significant elevation was observed in serum cholesterol, triglycerides and
LDL levels while there was a significant decrease in HDL serum level of irradiated rats. This confirms
that previously reported by Baker et al. (2009); Anees et al. (2014) and Abd El kader et al. (2015).

The Vulnerabilities And Cyber Kill Chain
A. ICS Vulnerabilities and Cyber Kill Chain
1. Reconnaissance Summarize plausible active gathering, passive gathering, and active reconnaissance
techniques that the adversary could have executed to gain intelligence on the target in the scenario.
Reconnaissance is the act of collecting background research necessary to identify and select targets.
(1) Cyber reconnaissance is an important stage of a well organized cyber attack, and is also one of the
most time consuming activities. This phase can exploit the information gathered about the target s
weaknesses. The type of information the hacker is looking for is how to actually get in: firewall ports
that are open, network hosts, services that are running. Critical information that should be obtained
during the reconnaissance phase include network information, host information, security policies, and
human information.
Active reconnaissance is a type of computer attack in which an intruder engages with the targeted
system to gather information about vulnerabilities. (2) This type of information gathering involves
doing something on the target network, which could potentially be tracked back to you. The idea of
this phase is to gather IP addresses, subnet masks, network topologies, user names, operating systems,
firewalls, password requirements and change frequency.
Passive reconnaissance is focused more around public information and not engaging with the targeted
systems. Typical passive reconnaissance can include

Distillation is the main separation method in chemical process industries. This process involves low
thermodynamic efficiency and high energy demand due to the heat that is added in the bottom reboiler
and thrown away in the top condenser. For this reason, to improve energy efficient distillation
systems, heat integration concept was first proposed by Brugma [1], Wright [2], Petlyuk et al.[3] and
Freshwater [4,5] almost 70 years ago. Nakaiwa et al. [6] has recently discussed these systems in an
excellent review. In another review, Amiya [7] introduced many other heat integration schemes which
have been developed so far in depth.
Heat pump systems can be used to upgrade heat from a lower quality energy source in the condenser
to a higher quality energy source in the reboiler. Heat pump assisted distillation column was first
introduced in the mid 1970s [8]. Previously, a number of studies on heat pump assisted distillation
have been reported in the literature. Omideyi et al. [9] developed a quick selection method for vapor
compression (VC) heat pump assisted distillation columns. Fonyo and Mizsey [10] simplified the
method and included vapor recompression as well as absorption heat pump scheme. Kiss et al. [11]
developed selection scheme of energy efficient technologies for binary distillation. Van de bor et al.
[12] presented a quick performance map and made selection simpler and more suitable.

The Last of the Mohicans is a 1992 American historical drama directed by Michael Mann and staring
Daniel Day Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, and Jodhi May, with Russell Means, Wes Studi, Eric Schweig,

  • 2. Summary Of The Glass Menagerie In the reading of The Glass Menagerie, we see how Laura, Tom, Jim O Conner, and Amanda are trying to escape his or her situation. In this final paper we will see how they were trapped, and what they done to be released from their caged life. You will see how Amanda lives in the past, Laura lives in her own little world, Tom is living for the present and looking for the best way out, and Jim O Conner is trying to become someone famous.. Have you ever felt like a caged bird? I have! When I lived at home I had a very strict father. Every scenario went through my mind on how I could get out of my dad s house. Just like me, the characters in this play felt the same way. Amanda, a nagging mother, who wants the best for her children, Laura is in her own world, Tom wants to be free, and Jim O Connor who was trying to better himself. These are the characters in the play try to escape their reality in many different ways. Amanda, a mother of two, lives in a house in St. Louis. She only wants the best for her children, but she is an overbearing parent. She holds splendid qualities but her personality is of a difficult obstacle to sympathize (Fambrough, Preston) 2005. She would even take on a job of selling subscriptions of the Home maker s Companion, so she could get extra money to help support the family. She was married to a man who fell in love with long distances, and the last time she had heard from him was on a postcard that said hello and goodbye ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sephor A Retail Chain Of Perfume And Cosmetics Stores Essay 1. About Sephora Sephora is a retail chain of perfume and cosmetics stores founded in 1969 by Dominique Mandonnaud. It first started as a small perfumery in Limoges, France, called Shop 8 and was revolutionary at that time due to its concept of assisted self service . The store had an open sell setting where customers could try the products before they bought them and where the organisation of the products was by type, not by brand as in every other store. In 1993, Mandonnaud bought 38 retail cosmetics stores from the UK s Boots PLC chain and merged them with the 12 Shop 8 stores that the company already had at that time. The stores were then rebranded to what is known today as Sephora. Although Sephora s initial strategy was to expand within France and its surroundings such as Monaco and Luxembourg, after the company was acquired by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) in 1997, it started pursuing a global international strategy. With every store around the world, Sephora maintains similar products, overall atmosphere and services and every strategic decision is made by the higher management at the headquarters. Its first international store was opened in 1998 in New York City and the company began to expand in the European market, starting with Italy. However, not every country was hospitable to Sephora s expansion such as the United Kingdom, Spain and Japan, where the company struggled. Nowadays, the Sephora brand is available in 31 countries having over 2000 stores ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The style of child rearing with which kids are raised can significantly influence their social advancement, and also their capacities to manage life circumstances as grown ups. Folks who take after the lenient style of child rearing have not very many standards, no predictable cutoff points, and as a rule offer into their kids. In a tolerant family, the kids are in control. Authoritative Parenting Authoritative child rearing is one of the better known methods for raising up the children, without going excessively high on freedom or order. • 6. Technology During The Twentieth Century Technology had a great influence on literature in the early twentieth century. This was the era of Women s Suffrage Movement and the Great War both of which had an impact on literature. The Women s Movement challenged long held ideals that men were superior in both mind and body, but more importantly, activists used technology to advance their cause. Five thousand women marched on Washington in order to gain media attention and support, and this coverage eventually led to the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment (Belasco and Johnson 489). World War I saw the use of modern warfare including chemical weapons and airplanes, tanks, and the machine gun. This technology made war more horrible and more complex than previous wars. This was also the time of jazz music, the flapper, and full length talking movies (498 499). Moreover, mass market magazines and Book of the Month clubs along with the increase students pursuing higher education meant a higher demand for novels (500, 502). All of these advances created the age of modernism. The modernism movement embraced painting, music, literature, and challenged previous styles and traditions. Influenced by changes brought on by the technology and the destruction of the Great War, the modernist writer questioned authority and established ideas. • 7. Persuasive Letter To A Pet As the new year approaches, you should think about resolutions not just for yourself, but you should also think about resolutions that would benefit your pets. Here are a few new year s resolutions that would greatly benefit your dogs and cats. #1 Update Or Create An ID For Your Pet If you don t have an ID for your pet, the start of a New Year is a great time time to invest in a identification tag for you pet that has their name on it as well as your contact information. If you pet s identification tag is out of date and contains contact information for you that is no longer valid, get it updated. That way, if anything every happens to your pet, whomever finds them will be able to get in touch with you. #2 Teach Your Pet A New Trick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... #4 Groom Your Pet On A Regular Basis Finally, make sure that you keep up on your pet s grooming this year. If you have a dog, sit with it and brush its coat at least once a day. This will only take a few minutes to do every day and will result in multiple positive benefits. If you brush your dog s coat everyday, more of their lose fur will end up on their brush instead of around your house. Brushing your dog everyday should reduce the amount of fur around your house. Additionally, it will help spread the oils on your dog s skin to their fur, which will help keep their fur looking and feeling healthy. Finally, its a great way to bond with your dog. You can also brush your cat as well on a daily basis if they will let you. Many cat s prefer to groom themselves, but if you start young, your cat should allow you to groom it as well. Remember grooming extends to your pet s teeth as well. At least once a week, you should brush your dog or cat s teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste specifically designed for pets. You can also stay on top of their dental healthy by providing them with treats and chewy toys that are designed to specifically combat tarter and keep their teeth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Starting on May 4th of 1864, the newly promoted Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant committed to destroying Robert E. Lee and his Army of Northern Virginia in the field. Grant became the first Lieutenant General since George Washington on March 2nd of 1864 and assumed command of the entire Union Army. Hopes were high for General Grant, seen in a letter the previous year, President Abraham Lincoln expressed his trust for Grant when he that he originally feared it was a mistake in regards to his attack on Vicksburg and I now wish to make the personal acknowledgment that you were right, and I was wrong. Heretofore, Union Generals in the East focused on capturing specific cities, however, Grant wanted to cripple the Confederate Army. Traditionally considered the last part of the Stone Age, the Neolithic commenced with the beginning of farming. Metal tools became widespread, along with the use of wild and domestic crops and of domesticated animals. When people think of pottery, they might think of bowls and cups, of eating and drinking. But pottery can, in fact, be art as well. During the Neolithic Era, most of this pottery was hand built. These red, gray, and black wares often revealed a craftsmanship and beauty exceptional for their age. http://mrg.bz/Tt8E3p Of course, clay isn t exactly glamorous. Once the crafting of bronze, lacquer, and precious metals were mastered, the ritual status afforded ceramics declined. Soon after, ceramic shapes began to imitate those of metal almost as soon as the latter appeared. There are four main types of Neolithic pottery: Neolithic soft ware Djeitun ware Ismailabad ware Burnished gray ware Let s explore these forms of Neolithic ceramics and how they defined the art of the time period. Today s lesson objective is: The student will learn about Neolithic ceramics. Take a moment to think about this objective. What learning skills will you use to achieve this goal? Authentication is needed more and more in a digitalized world. At first, I thought face recognition could be useful for unlocking phones or open door locks, for example. But I came to notice that there are situations in which this face recognition could actually be disturbing or even dangerous. Imagine a person having an accident and somebody tries to call for help using the cell phone of this person. Help could be hindered by a phone only unlocking through face recognition of the owner. A similar situation would arise in a burning house. The owner being trapped inside, firefighters may not be able to enter the house for help as quickly as they could without a face recognition lock. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many ATMs already have cameras installed, so why not use those cameras for authentication? Even in stores cameras could be used to identify people. By 1996 usage of the word Internet had become commonplace, and consequently, so had its use as a synecdoche in reference to the World Wide Web. Joseph Von Faunhofer Research Paper Joseph von Fraunhofer was a German optician and physicist who discovered and influenced how astronomers view the dark line spectrum, the spectrum of the sun and the diffraction of light. On March 6, 1787 in Straubing, Bavaria, Joseph Ritter von Fraunhofer was born into a poor family where his father Franz Xaver Fraunhofer was a watch glass maker. At the age of 10, Joseph s mother, Maria Anna Frohlich passed away, and only a year after his father died. This left Fraunhofer orphaned and forced him to start working as an apprentice for a harsh lens maker named Philipp Anton Weichelsberger. This was appropriate because since the age of 10 Joseph was already working in his family s workshop. Weichelsberger used Fraunhofer primarily as slave labor, often driving him to near starvation and exhaustion. However, on July 21, 1801, the workshop in which Fraunhofer was working in collapsed. In art, a kouros is a statue of a young nude male who stands with his hands at his sides and one leg, usually his left, advanced. Throughout the Archaic period, which dates from 610 B.C. to 480 B.C., the basic pose of kouroi (plural for kouros) remained the same, though the anatomy of the figures gradually became more naturalistic or true to life. The ideology that the Greek sculptors wanted to achieve greater naturalism is proven through the progression of the kouroi during the period. A Dream For A World Without Food Labels Essay A Dream for a World Without Food Labels In his essay My Dream Food Label, Mark Bittman makes the case that current food labels, while providing the consumer with ample information, do not indicate whether or not the food contained is really beneficial . Bittman argues that labels should additionally involve clear graphics, such as a traffic light indicating the healthiness of the food, as well as criteria such as hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, etc. These criteria would ideally also include the production of the food, particularly the welfare of the workers and animals involved, and perhaps even the carbon footprint of the food. Bittman ultimately uses such advocacy for food label reform to support his own proposed food label design, equipped with a 15 point color coded scale ranking the food according to its nutrition, as it currently exists, foodiness , or how close the food is to real food , and welfare , or the overall treatment of the workers, animals, and environment. While his arguments for food labels are well intentioned, attempting to address serious issues, Bitman s supposed solutions are highly flawed. Although various thinkers and artists from the Romantic era utilized unique approaches within the spectrum of their work, historians have grouped many viewpoints as being part of a category called the Romantics. The artistic, literary, musical and intellectual movement known as the Romantic era began in 18th century Europe and ended in the mid 19th century (Day, 1996). Romantic art uniquely places a large emphasis on emotional content, the individual, and in celebrating the past and the ways in which one interacts with the nature that surrounds them (Day, 1996). The emotions which were most widely used included terror, horror, and awe; as it was believed that these processes contributed to the overall aesthetic appeal (Day, 1996). This ... The French were also more aligned to the Greeks in terms of religion, since both held Christian values, while the Turks were largely Muslim, and at the time seen as the outsiders within the conflict (Fraser, 2004). The painting depicts some of the Greek survivors on the island of Chios, as they are in anguish since they re surrounded by the Ottomans whom are holding weapons, and whom are presumably capturing these individuals for slavery. Some of the figures are wounded, some appear to be dying, but the survivors will presumably be taken away. There are various individual moments of suffering being illustrated, each of which holds a unique conception of the current state, all of whom are emotionally dealing with the circumstances as best as they can. This piece has no hero, and it does not display any relative form of optimism. Instead it illustrates the fact that suffering is prevalent, and each individual copes with such suffering in a unique manner. The point of unification lies in the mere fact that the Greeks are overpowered by the Turks. This is a painting about human suffering, and individualism, and it emphasizes the importance of color, nature in the background, and classical figures being painted in an effort to create an ... • 31. Love And A Little Malice Come December with love and a little malice. December is regarded the month of romance and love. The chill turns into a fire when the love attains its climax. The rain and snow become a catalyst to warm and join the broken hearts. Lovers admire this month for rekindling their lost dreams. December is the month of Christmas, the month of the birth of a great prophet JESUS. This prophet of peace loved his enemies and comforted them all. Jesus always stood with poor and disenfranchised, fed and healed them, preached against the power bases of society and government and refused to draw weapons against the Roman soldiers when they came to arrest him. He knew that making an enemy is not the way to make friends since making enemies has predictable consequences, the enemies naturally fight back, he urged for kindness and forgiveness. The believers kept alive the gesture and upheld the values he taught. JESUS knew the world was but a hell without love and compassion. Hence, he transacted his life for love and erased the sins of others. Muslims around the world adulate the impact this magnificent prophet created in human history that condemned hatred and violence. Muslim also treats the followers of JESUS as the right people of the holy book. It is, however, bewildering to realize, in contrast, the contemporary intellectuals and politicians untiringly demonize faith, nations and race. None of the virtues of Jesus were adhered to by the politicians and most of the others who claim to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although advances in technology have made consumerism more readily available to people world wide, the root of secularization of the church can be traced back hundreds of years. Of course the commercialization of Christmas and Easter stands out amongst holidays celebrated by Christians; other religions also include elaborate festivities and gift giving during their religious celebrations. In addition to the merchandising during the holidays, there are countless stores and websites that offer religious items, movies and TV shows, museums and theme parks, music of every genre and ornately decorated places of worship. Stores, street lights, and houses are decorated with brightly colored lights, animatronics, and inflatable images of Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and the Grinch. Holiday sales begin on Thanksgiving instead of Black Friday, making it impossible for salespeople to spend time with family, enjoying food and games while reflecting on all that the family has to be thankful for. Admittedly, I am not a fan of shopping on Black Friday, but I have friends that say that getting up early and rushing around stores for special bargains is a fun family tradition; however, it seems that every year there are media reports of people being injured or fights breaking out over getting that one all important item. Many people go into debt making credit card purchases of nonessential items. All that aside, though, the holiday season causes many people to become more charitable, providing food to the homeless, visiting lonely elders in nursing homes and providing clothing and gifts to children in need; it would be wonderful if people kept that giving spirit all year long. • 34. The Effects Of Irradiation Exposure to ionizing radiation induces oxidative damage that leads to alteration of tissue physiological function as observed in the present study. This was evidenced by significant elevation in kidney MDA content. These results match the increase in lipid peroxidation post irradiation obtained by Srinivasan et al. (2007) and Pratheeshkumar and kuttan (2011). Free radicals generated by irradiation react with unsaturated lipids generating hydroperoxides, which in turn can induce changes in lipid bilayer thereby altering the membrane permeability and inducing lipid peroxidation (Suzuki et al. 1997). Also, significant elevation of kidney GSH contents were observed in irradiated rats. This increase in GSH level may be due to transcriptional ... In addition, the increment in serum urea level which is the major end product of protein catabolism may be also due to excess degradation of protein post irradiation (Moulder et al. 2002). Results of the present study also showed that whole body gamma irradiation at 6.5Gy evoked a sharp increase in glucose level and decrease in Mg kidney content. Hyperglycemia has been found post irradiation due to minimized utilization of glucose by injured tissues as well as acceleration of gluconeogenesis which is indirect result of irradiation (Abdel Salam et al. 2006). The hypomagnesaemia may be due to insufficient renal function or excess release through damaged cells post irradiation (Kotb et al. 1990). Lipid metabolism abnormalities, is a characteristic consequence of renal insufficiency (Trevisan et al. 2006). In the present study, significant elevation was observed in serum cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL levels while there was a significant decrease in HDL serum level of irradiated rats. Stardom is firstly associated with the Hollywood film system, but now it appears in all areas, predominantly in sports, television industry and popular music industry. Shuker (2012) defines stardom in popular music as it is about illusion and appeal to the fantasies of the audience and is about talent and creativity as well. • 38. The Vulnerabilities And Cyber Kill Chain A. ICS Vulnerabilities and Cyber Kill Chain 1. Reconnaissance Summarize plausible active gathering, passive gathering, and active reconnaissance techniques that the adversary could have executed to gain intelligence on the target in the scenario. Reconnaissance is the act of collecting background research necessary to identify and select targets. (1) Cyber reconnaissance is an important stage of a well organized cyber attack, and is also one of the most time consuming activities. This phase can exploit the information gathered about the target s weaknesses. The type of information the hacker is looking for is how to actually get in: firewall ports that are open, network hosts, services that are running. Critical information that should be obtained during the reconnaissance phase include network information, host information, security policies, and human information. Active reconnaissance is a type of computer attack in which an intruder engages with the targeted system to gather information about vulnerabilities. (2) This type of information gathering involves doing something on the target network, which could potentially be tracked back to you. The idea of this phase is to gather IP addresses, subnet masks, network topologies, user names, operating systems, firewalls, password requirements and change frequency. Passive reconnaissance is focused more around public information and not engaging with the targeted systems. Typical passive reconnaissance can include ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Input-Output Pairing and Disturbance Rejection of a... Distillation is the main separation method in chemical process industries. This process involves low thermodynamic efficiency and high energy demand due to the heat that is added in the bottom reboiler and thrown away in the top condenser. For this reason, to improve energy efficient distillation systems, heat integration concept was first proposed by Brugma [1], Wright [2], Petlyuk et al.[3] and Freshwater [4,5] almost 70 years ago. Nakaiwa et al. [6] has recently discussed these systems in an excellent review. In another review, Amiya [7] introduced many other heat integration schemes which have been developed so far in depth. Heat pump systems can be used to upgrade heat from a lower quality energy source in the condenser to a higher quality energy source in the reboiler. Heat pump assisted distillation column was first introduced in the mid 1970s [8]. Previously, a number of studies on heat pump assisted distillation have been reported in the literature. Omideyi et al. [9] developed a quick selection method for vapor compression (VC) heat pump assisted distillation columns. Fonyo and Mizsey [10] simplified the method and included vapor recompression as well as absorption heat pump scheme. Kiss et al. [11] developed selection scheme of energy efficient technologies for binary distillation. Van de bor et al. [12] presented a quick performance map and made selection simpler and more suitable. The most popular heat pump systems are the mechanical ones. In these heat pumps, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
