REPORTING SYSTEM”
INTRODUCTION
• System uses temperature, humidity as well as rain sensor to
monitor the weather and provide live reporting of
the weather statistics, using IOT which is an advanced and efficient
solution for connecting the things to the internet.
• The system constantly monitors temperature using temperature
sensor, humidity using humidity sensor and also for rain using rain
drop sensor.
• Climatic change and environmental monitoring have received much
attention recently.
• Man wants to stay updated about the latest weather conditions of any place
like a college campus or any other particular building.
• Since the world is changing so fast so there should be the weather stations.
• This weather station is based on IOT (internet of things).
• To accomplish this we used Arduino Uno and different environmental
sensors like DHT11 and rain drop sensor .
• The sensors constantly sense the weather parameters and keeps on
transmitting it to the online web server over a Wi-Fi connection.
• The system has been development particularly in the view of building
smart city by giving the weather update of any particular place like a
particular office or room.
• The IOT based Weather Monitoring and Reporting System project is used
to get Live reporting of weather conditions.
• Since it sends SMS to few numbers. And time for sending SMS increases
as the number of mobile numbers increases.
CONCEPT OF IOT IN PROJECT
• The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of internet-connected
objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless
network without human intervention.
• The personal or business possibilities are endless.
• It will Monitor temperature, humidity and rain level.
• Suppose Scientists/nature analysts want to monitor changes in a
particular environment like volcano or a rain-forest.
• And these people are from different places in the world.
• In this case, SMS based weather monitoring system has some limitations.
Since it sends SMS to few numbers.
• And time for sending SMS increases as the number of mobile numbers
increases.
• In order to know the information about weather of a perticular place then
they have to visit that particular sites.
• Keywords: Internet of Things , temperature and humidity sensor,
Microcontroller ATmega328, rain level sensor .
BLOCK-DIAGRAM
WORKING
• Using a Arduino Uno and a DHT sensor, you will develop an IoT
based electronic device that streams temperature and humidity data
over the internet.
• You can program the system in such a way that whenever there is a
temperature/ humidity change, the system will send you notification
via email as well as sms.
• Then it sends these parameters to Internet using IOT techniques.
• The process of sending data to the internet using Wi-Fi is repeated after
constant time intervals.
• Then the user needs to visit a particular website to view this weather data.
• The project connects and stores the data on a web server. Hence user gets
Live reporting of weather conditions.
• Internet connectivity or Internet connection with Wi-Fi is compulsory in this
IOT based weather monitoring reporting system project.
MAIN COMPONENTS
ARDUINO UNO:
• The Arduino Uno is an open-source microcontroller board based on the
Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller.
• The board is equipped with sets of digital and analog input/output pins that
may be interfaced to various expansion boards and other circuits.
• The current version of Arduino Uno comes with USB interface, 6 analog
input pins, 14 I/O digital ports that are used to connect with external
electronic circuits. Out of 14 I/O ports, 6 pins can be used for PWM output.
• This board comes with all the features required to run the controller and
can be directly connected to the computer through USB cable that is used
to transfer the code to the controller using IDE software, mainly
developed to program Arduino.
• Apart from USB, battery or AC to DC adopter can also be used to power
the board.
• Arduino Uno are the most official versions that come with Atmega328 8-
bit AVR Atmel microcontroller where RAM memory is 32KB.
FEATURES
• The operating voltage is 5V.
• The recommended input voltage will range from 7v to 12V.
• The input voltage ranges from 6v to 20V.
• Digital input/output pins are 14.
• Analog i/p pins are 6.
• DC Current for each input/output pin is 40 mA.
• DC Current for 3.3V Pin is 50 mA.
• Flash Memory is 32 KB.
ESP01 WIFI MODULE
• It is really useful cheap wifi module for controlling devices over the
internet.
• The module can work both as access point (Can create hotspot) and as
a station (can connect to wifi) Hence it can easily fetch data and
upload it to the internet making internet of things as easy as possible.
• One useful feature of Uno WiFi is support for OTA (over-the-air)
programming, either for transfer of Arduino sketches or WiFi
firmware.

• Current Consumption: 100mA
• I/O voltage: 3.6V(max)
• I/O soure current:12mA (max)
• Built-in low power 32-bit MCU at 80MHz
• 512kb Flash Memory
LCD DISPLAY
• An LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic display
module and has a wide range of applications.
• A 16x2 LCD display is very basic module and is very commonly used
in various devices and circuits. A 16x2 LCD means it can display 16
characters per line and there are 2 such lines.
• To establish a good communication between human world and
machine world, display units play an important role.
DHT 11 SENSOR
• The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and humidity
sensor.
• It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the
surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin (no
analog input pins needed).
• Its fairly simple to use, but requires careful timing to grab data.
RAIN SENSOR
• Rain drop sensor is basically a board on which nickel is coated in the
form of lines. It works on the principle of resistence.
• Rain sensor allows to measure moisture via analog o/p pins and it
provides a digital o/p when a threshold of moisture exceeds.
• The rain sensor module is an easy tool for rain detection. It can be
used as a switch when raindrop falls through the raining board and
also for measuring rainfall intensity
ADVANTAGES
• IOT weather monitoring system project using Arduino Uno is fully
automated.
• It does not require any human attention.
• We can get prior alert of weather conditions
• The low cost and efforts are less in this system
• Accuracy is high.
• Smart way to monitor Environment
• Efficient
APPLICATIONS
• The weather forecasting plays very important role in the field of
agriculture.
• It is also helpful at places like volcano and rain forests.
• It is quite difficult for a human being to stay for longer time at such
places.
CONCLUSION
• Our proposed system allows for weather parameter reporting over the
internet.
• It allows the people to directly check the weather stats online.
• Thus the IOT based weather reporting system provides an efficient
internet based weather reporting system for users.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION • System uses temperature, humidity as well as rain sensor to monitor the weather and provide live reporting of the weather statistics, using IOT which is an advanced and efficient solution for connecting the things to the internet. • The system constantly monitors temperature using temperature sensor, humidity using humidity sensor and also for rain using rain drop sensor.
  • 4. • Climatic change and environmental monitoring have received much attention recently. • Man wants to stay updated about the latest weather conditions of any place like a college campus or any other particular building. • Since the world is changing so fast so there should be the weather stations. • This weather station is based on IOT (internet of things). • To accomplish this we used Arduino Uno and different environmental sensors like DHT11 and rain drop sensor .
  • 5. • The sensors constantly sense the weather parameters and keeps on transmitting it to the online web server over a Wi-Fi connection. • The system has been development particularly in the view of building smart city by giving the weather update of any particular place like a particular office or room. • The IOT based Weather Monitoring and Reporting System project is used to get Live reporting of weather conditions. • Since it sends SMS to few numbers. And time for sending SMS increases as the number of mobile numbers increases.

CONCEPT OF IOT IN PROJECT • The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. • The personal or business possibilities are endless. • It will Monitor temperature, humidity and rain level. • Suppose Scientists/nature analysts want to monitor changes in a particular environment like volcano or a rain-forest.
  • 7. • And these people are from different places in the world. • In this case, SMS based weather monitoring system has some limitations. Since it sends SMS to few numbers. • And time for sending SMS increases as the number of mobile numbers increases. • In order to know the information about weather of a perticular place then they have to visit that particular sites. • Keywords: Internet of Things , temperature and humidity sensor, Microcontroller ATmega328, rain level sensor .

WORKING • Using a Arduino Uno and a DHT sensor, you will develop an IoT based electronic device that streams temperature and humidity data over the internet. • You can program the system in such a way that whenever there is a temperature/ humidity change, the system will send you notification via email as well as sms.
  • 10. • Then it sends these parameters to Internet using IOT techniques. • The process of sending data to the internet using Wi-Fi is repeated after constant time intervals. • Then the user needs to visit a particular website to view this weather data. • The project connects and stores the data on a web server. Hence user gets Live reporting of weather conditions. • Internet connectivity or Internet connection with Wi-Fi is compulsory in this IOT based weather monitoring reporting system project.

MAIN COMPONENTS ARDUINO UNO: • The Arduino Uno is an open-source microcontroller board based on the Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller. • The board is equipped with sets of digital and analog input/output pins that may be interfaced to various expansion boards and other circuits. • The current version of Arduino Uno comes with USB interface, 6 analog input pins, 14 I/O digital ports that are used to connect with external electronic circuits. Out of 14 I/O ports, 6 pins can be used for PWM output.
  • 12. • This board comes with all the features required to run the controller and can be directly connected to the computer through USB cable that is used to transfer the code to the controller using IDE software, mainly developed to program Arduino. • Apart from USB, battery or AC to DC adopter can also be used to power the board. • Arduino Uno are the most official versions that come with Atmega328 8- bit AVR Atmel microcontroller where RAM memory is 32KB.

FEATURES • The operating voltage is 5V. • The recommended input voltage will range from 7v to 12V. • The input voltage ranges from 6v to 20V. • Digital input/output pins are 14. • Analog i/p pins are 6. • DC Current for each input/output pin is 40 mA. • DC Current for 3.3V Pin is 50 mA. • Flash Memory is 32 KB.

ESP01 WIFI MODULE • It is really useful cheap wifi module for controlling devices over the internet. • The module can work both as access point (Can create hotspot) and as a station (can connect to wifi) Hence it can easily fetch data and upload it to the internet making internet of things as easy as possible. • One useful feature of Uno WiFi is support for OTA (over-the-air) programming, either for transfer of Arduino sketches or WiFi firmware.

LCD DISPLAY • An LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic display module and has a wide range of applications. • A 16x2 LCD display is very basic module and is very commonly used in various devices and circuits. A 16x2 LCD means it can display 16 characters per line and there are 2 such lines. • To establish a good communication between human world and machine world, display units play an important role.

DHT 11 SENSOR • The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. • It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin (no analog input pins needed). • Its fairly simple to use, but requires careful timing to grab data.

  • 24. RAIN SENSOR • Rain drop sensor is basically a board on which nickel is coated in the form of lines. It works on the principle of resistence. • Rain sensor allows to measure moisture via analog o/p pins and it provides a digital o/p when a threshold of moisture exceeds. • The rain sensor module is an easy tool for rain detection. It can be used as a switch when raindrop falls through the raining board and also for measuring rainfall intensity

ADVANTAGES • IOT weather monitoring system project using Arduino Uno is fully automated. • It does not require any human attention. • We can get prior alert of weather conditions • The low cost and efforts are less in this system • Accuracy is high. • Smart way to monitor Environment • Efficient
  • 27. APPLICATIONS • The weather forecasting plays very important role in the field of agriculture. • It is also helpful at places like volcano and rain forests. • It is quite difficult for a human being to stay for longer time at such places.
  • 28. CONCLUSION • Our proposed system allows for weather parameter reporting over the internet. • It allows the people to directly check the weather stats online. • Thus the IOT based weather reporting system provides an efficient internet based weather reporting system for users.
