• Can be ‘free morphemes’ or ‘bound morphemes’
• Bound morphemes ‘y’ or ‘s’ or ‘anti’ or ‘semi’
• Made up of morphemes. What different classes are
there?
• Do not contain a verb – can be prepositional,
adjectival, adverbial or noun phrases
• Independent (main) or Dependent (subordinate)
• Differ from phrases because they must have a verb
• At least one main clause – ay also include phrases
• Simple, Compound or complex.
• Different types (interrogative, imperative,
declarative, emphatic
• Well, anything really.

Punctuation of complex sentences
1. If a pregnant woman smokes her baby may
suffer damage of some kind
2. However you may feel I’m wrong
3. The passengers who were in the front of the
train were seriously injured
Periodic Sentences – What’s the effect?
Every breath you take,
Every move you make,
Every bond you break,
Every step you take,
I’ll be watching you.

Now if you feel that you can't go on (can't go on)

A billion sentences– Fourdifferenttypes.
1. Imperative A command: ‘Sit down’ or ‘Hand in your
homework’.
2. Interrogative A question: ‘Where did you get that fetching
hat?’
3. Emphatic An emphatic statement or exclamation: ‘A seven
foot monkey!’
1. Declarative: A statement: “Mathematics is incredibly
interesting’.
