Students will learn:
- To develop their ability to read and
explore texts, with some of the
most famous Greek Myths
including:
• Perseus and Medusa
• Theseus and The Minotaur
• Daedalus and Icarus
• Prometheus and Pandora
• Hercules and the 12 labours
- To explore some of Shakespeare’s
most memorable characters from
The Tempest, developing their
confidence wit difficult texts .
Students will learn:
- How to discuss and write
about poetry, including:
• How poets communicate ideas
about identify.
• How structural and language
choices contribute to meaning
• To experiment with writing and
performing poetry.
• Developing their ability to
write analytically about poetry
Students will learn:
How gothic characters and settings
are created, studying extracts from
the most famous texts in the gothic
tradition, including:
To write creatively, developing their
grammar and vocabulary
knowledge and using this to craft
writing drawing inspiration from
the gothic tradition.
