Hard Drive Advantages And Disadvantages
The conventional turning hard drive is the fundamental nonvolatile stockpiling on a PC. That is, data
on it doesn t leave when you kill the framework, as is valid for information put away in RAM. A hard
drives is basically a metal platter with an attractive covering that stores your information, whether
climate reports from the most recent century, a superior quality duplicate of the Star Wars set of three,
or your advanced music gathering. A read/compose head on an arm gets to the information while the
platters are turning. A SSD does practically everything a hard drive does, yet information is rather put
away on interconnected glimmer memory chips that hold the information notwithstanding when there
s no force present. The chips can either be for all time introduced on the framework s motherboard (as
on some little portable PCs and ultrabooks), on a PCI Express (PCIe) card (in some top of the line
workstations), or in a crate that is estimated, molded, and wired to opening in for a tablet or desktop s
hard drive (basic on everything else). These blaze memory chips are of an alternate sort than is utilized
as a part of USB thumb drives, and are ordinarily quicker and more solid. SSDs are therefore more
costly than USB thumb drives of the same limits. Note: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Will probably discover 500GB to 1TB units as essential drives in frameworks. While 500GB is
viewed as a base hard drive in 2016, valuing concerns can push that down to 128GB for lower
estimated SSD based frameworks. Media clients will require much more, with 1TB to 4TB drives
normal in top of the line frameworks. Essentially, the more stockpiling limit, the more stuff you can
continue your PC. Cloud based (Internet) stockpiling might be useful for lodging records you plan to
share among your telephone, tablet, and PC, however nearby capacity is less costly, and you just need
to purchase it

Political Machines And Reformers In The 19th Century
Political machines and the reformers who rallied against them had incredible influence in urban
politics in the 19th and early 20th century. Each, however, has been labeled as corrupt monopolies and
are seen as selfish towards their own goals. While there are tactics that worked to help cities grow
stronger, the value of equal voting for all citizens was compromised in each regime s quest for power.
Political bosses, heads of the political machine, focused on the vast influx of immigrants coming to
the United States in the 19th century and targeted not only them but also poor, working class citizens.
Political bosses ensured support was by offering goods and services, including business contracts and
licences within the city s growing areas, otherwise known as bribery. Because the growing areas of
cities mostly consisted of immigrants and the poor, the trade of a vote in exchange to a good or a
service was appealing to constituents and even more so to political bosses. Machines offered jobs for
immigrants, generating the possibility of a citizen s personal upward mobility. However, these services
were not always equal, and machines were willing to act with hostility when their wishes were not
met. While machines aided in the assimilation of immigrants into the ... Show more content on

businessmen who were wealthy and educated. Immediately, this rules out most immigrants and

less educated voters and minorities experienced increased difficulty in casting their

My Name Andreana Research Paper
I am as complex as the next person. Everything, even my name, Andreana, holds a meaning. Sure,
people know some things about me, although there are none that know me truly. I have struggled and
thrived, gained hobbies and lost interest. Never has my life been at a standstill. Andreana. The name
given to me at birth, the one to stay with me until my death. My father, Andre, gave me this name to
somehow incorporate himself into me. He pretty much combined his name and Ana, resulting with
what is now my name. Not everyone is able to pronounce it correctly; never had I heard someone say
it correctly on the first try without my aid. My grandpa in particular thought it was too complex,
settling on calling me Ana instead. In addition, my name also means strong and manly, of which I can
mostly agree with. I was never one for feminine things. All in all, I am satisfied with my name. ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Creaming
Creaming or skimming[edit]
In most skimming, goods are higher priced so that fewer sales are needed to break even. Selling a
product at a high price, sacrificing high sales to gain a high profit is therefore skimming the market.
Skimming is usually employed to reimburse the cost of investment of the original research into the
product: commonly used in electronic markets when a new range, such as DVD players, are firstly
dismarket at a high price. This strategy is often used to target early adopters of a product or service.
Early adopters generally have a relatively lower price sensitivity this can be attributed to: their need
for the product outweighing their need to economise; a greater understanding of the product s value;
or simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First degree price discrimination
The business charges every consumer exactly how much they are willing to pay for the product.
2. Second degree price discrimination
The business uses volume discounts which allows buyers to purchase a higher inventory at a reduced
price. While this benefits the high inventory buyer, it obviously hurts the low inventory buyer who is
forced to pay a higher price. This buyer may then be less competitive in the downstream market.
3. Third degree price discrimination
This occurs when firms segment the market into high demand and low demand groups.[16]
Firm need to ensure they are aware of several factors of their business before proceeding with the
strategy of price discrimination. Firms must have control over the changes they make regarding the
price of their product by which they can gain profitability depending on the amount of sales made. The
price can be increased or decreased at any point depending on the fluctuation of the rate of buyers and
consumers. Price discrimination strategy is not feasible for all firms as there are many consequences
that the firms may face due to the action. For example: if a firm sells a product to their customer for a
cheaper price and that customer resells the product demanding a higher price from another buyer then
the chances of the firm failing to make a higher profit is predicted because they could have sold their
product at a higher rate than the re seller and made further

Essay on Dickens Social Commentary in Great Expectations
Dickens Social Commentary in Great Expectations
Charles Dickens Great Expectations stands as one of the most highly revered works in all of English
literature. The novel s perennial appeal lies in its penetrating depictions of character, rich panoramas
of social milieu, and implicit crusades against social evils.1
Dickens used the growth of his characters in Great Expectations, particularly Pip, in relation to others
to write about social reform, and most effectively illustrated this by using the first person narrative
style. In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens has written a social commentary using the development
of his characters to illustrate his message. In my paper, I will concentrate on three of the main ... Show

Dickens uses his characters to illustrate these themes. He shows in depth character transformation by
showing his characters learning these lessons through suffering and hardships.
Great Expectations is told by a first person narrator, the narrator being the main character, Pip. He tells
about his own life of selfishness and greed and how he learned through his own experiences how to
make himself useful and happy. This novel is a first person narrative because it is Pip s own story.
Since it is about his own life it makes it easy for the reader to identify with Pip and what he is going
through. In a first person narrative you know from the very beginning of the story the conflict between
the narrator and the main character will be resolved.4 In Great Expectations the narrator is the main
character grown up and telling about his experiences as a young boy. It would be difficult to tell a
story unless you really understand the meaning and importance of it and you can only realize this
through your own experiences.
Pip s first encounter with Magwitch, an escaped convict, is down by the marshes where Pip is visiting
his parents graves. Magwitch asks Pip, Where s your mother? Pip points to the grave and says There
sir. 5 Magwitch is startled and we can sense that he was a bit frightened also. From Magwitch s
nervousness we see that he is just as scared and unhappy as Pip. Pip is very

Analysis Of The House Holder By Ruth Prawer Jhabvala
The portrayal of socio economic structure of Indian society of 1950 s and early 1960 s gets amply
reflected in the early novels of Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, Most of the protagonists of her novels hail from
upper and middle classes and their interaction with the lower strata of society reveals the gap between
the rich and the poor, While her satire is directed against the materialistic attitudes of the middle class
in most of her novels. Jhabvala can not be blamed for totally ignoring the lower class. In her fourth
novel, The House Holder (1960), she has projected lower strata of society on an even bigger canvas.
With this novel she returns to the intra Indian context.
The main protagonist Prem, a Hindi teacher with a second class B.A., in Mr. Khanna s private college
in Delhi and the other representative of his class Sohanial confront against several social and familial
realities which are the consequence of Indian planning. The break up of the joint family and the
mashrooming of nuclear family have created some problems in Indian society and then there is need

Netball Research Paper
Netball:
At the elite level, netball is a skilled and fast paced game. It requires the use of the anaerobic systems
that are assisted by the aerobic system during recovery aster short bursts of play (AIS Sports Nutrition,
2013). The game consists of seven players on court at any one time, that are limited to a particular
court space, depending on their position. The game consists of four, fifteen minute quarters with three
minute breaks between the first and second quarter, then again between the third and four quarters. A
five minute break occurs at half time.
Nature of the Activity:
Netball is predominately a running sport, with multiple short, explosive sprints incorporated to lose
the defending player and receive the ball from the attacking teammates. However, this solely depends
in the position of the player. As players are limited to particular areas of the court, the activities and
the intensity at which they are performed differ.

This concept is otherwise known as interplay, where one energy system is dominant to the other
systems depending on the intensity and duration of the activity. When considering netball, athletes
may engage in short duration of high intensity efforts in which the ATP CP system would be the
dominant energy system due to fast rate of ATP production as well as the short period of movement.
However, for repeated high intensity runs and jumps throughout a quarter of netball, in which in
movement lasts longer than 10 seconds, the anaerobic glycolysis pathway energy system would be
considered the dominant system. Conversely, for periods of low intensity such as periods between
points or whilst the ball is away from the player the aerobic energy system would be dominant and is
an essential part of removal of lactic acid in the muscle and repairing the creatine phosphate

Reverend Dimmesdale Quotes
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter provides a window into the puritanical mind through his
character Reverend Dimmesdale. Reverend Dimmesdale comes to understand that one s relationship
with God supersedes any other relationship one has, whether it s with one s beloved, one s children, or
one s social circle. He expresses it publicly on the scaffold in a dramatic sequence in a passage in
chapter 23. Throughout the story Dimmesdale is supposed to be an example of upright godly behavior
but he s lying everyday, all the time, in every relationship because he had an affair with Hester. While
adultery was illegal, it was also against one of God s Ten Commandments. Dimmesdale tells the
people while they ve always seen Hester s sign of sin, they never knew about his own. Yet, God s eye
beheld it! The angels were forever pointing at it! The devil knew it well and fretted it continually with
the touch of his burning finger! (Page number). Dimmesdale knows that God s judgement is greater
than any judgement of men. Dimmesdale states that Hester s scarlet letter is but the shadow of what he

Hester asked him if after all their turmoil they ll share eternity together. Dimmesdale responds The
law we broke! The sin here so awfully revealed! Let these be alone in thy thoughts. (Page number).

committing adultery they risked eternal damnation and the impossibility of living eternally with God.
When we forgot our God, when we violated our reverence for each for the other s soul, it was
thenceforth vain to hope that we could meet hereafter. (Page number). Dimmesdale had almost been

The Development Of Emotional Regulation
The development of emotional regulation begins during early infancy and we believe that children
temperament, behaviours and attitude will carry through their life. When we look deeply about how
the self regulation develop and how it s impact on the children emotional regulation. Studying of
emotional regulation, especially on infancy and toddlers is to consider the process of their early brain
development relevant to emotional regulation, the influence of the temperament, social development
based on the peer relationship (Benson Haith, 2009). Emotional regulation is concern of different
emotional experience on the individual person, it is unique and can be change on the different purpose
and situations. Emotional regulation also consists of self controlling on the emotional behaviours,
evaluating the personal feeling and strategies of modifying the other feeling. Emotional regulation is
also the set of personal goal of managing the self emotional feeling (Benson Haith, 2009).
Lack of Emotional regulation could face on the difficulties on the children life and could be risk of
psychological issues.
The definition of emotional regulation is generally confusing, due to the different concern of the

Analysis Of The Story Of Ishmael And The Story Of Esau
Two stories and One lesson While reading the story of Ishmael and the story of Esau, readers could
easily find some similarities. Both stories delineates the process of the disfranchisement of the elder
sons firstborn right, the expulsion of certain characters, and the instruction of God. Those similarities
make people to wonder that whether the two stories are just the same kind of story written to teach the
believer the same lesson. This essay is divided into three parts and aimed to prove that the
disfranchisement stories of Ishmael and Esau are essentially the same story told over two generations
First of all, every main character of the Ismael narratives has its exact counterpart in the Esau
narratives: Ishmael corresponds to Esau, Isaac to Jacobs, Abraham to Isaac, and Sarah to Rebekah. In
Ishmael and Esau s case, according to Genesis, Ishmael was the child of Hager, the Egyptian slave,
and Abraham. He was hated by his mother , Sarah, who was Ishmael s mother in law according to the
ancient surrogate motherhood customs: a wife could give her maid to her husband and claim the child
as her own () and initially protected by his father Abraham. He was the victim who was casted out by
Sarah and lost his birthright. Esau was also hated by his mother, Rebekah, while loved by his father,
Isaac, accordingly(Genesis 25:28), and he lost his birthright and the death blessing in the end. Not
only did Esau and Ishmael share the similar kind of living circumstances, they also

Evaluate the claim that British identity is defined by shared values.
National identities are only one among the many identities that people can hold , (Clarke, 2009,

to what Britishness is and who counts as British? To evaluate the role, shared values play in defining
the British Identity it is necessary to examine how it is formed through place, culture, ethnicity,

The values referred to earlier by Blunkett and Phillips are being used to describe Britain by the means
of shared values. Blunkett also suggests that Britain s institutions such as the NHS and the BBC stand
for these values. They both use language such as inclusive or open to suggest that British identity is
open to all citizens , (Clarke, 2009, p.221). That British is as British does. It is about what people do,
not who they are , (Phillips cited in Clarke, 2009, p.223). Statements such as these, relating to national
identities are often intended to persuade people to think or act in a certain way , (Clarke, 2009, p.214).
Parekh supports the view that Britain has become a multi ethnic and multicultural society and must
develop a more multiple and complex national identity , (cited in Clarke, 2009, p.225). In opposition
to this is the view that diversity may have gone too far , undermining national identity and the forms
of social solidarity that keeps us together , (Clarke, 2009, p.225). Goodhart writes about two forms of
diversity, value and ethnic . He describes how Britain has changed over the last sixty years from one
where it was possible to predict the attitudes, even behaviour of the people living in your immediate
neighbourhood to one with greater diversity in lifestyles and values , (Goodhart cited in Clarke, 2009,
p.225). The increase in

Why Is Louise Brooks Important In The 1920s
The Roaring Twenties fostered a split between America s past and future. Prior to World War I,
America remained rooted in the conservative nature of the nineteenth century. After the war ended,
Americans broke away from their traditional habits and intellection as they transitioned into a modern
era. The rapid social and economic change influenced innovation that caused people s morals to
deviate from their upbringing. Many people began to take bold moves that later influenced a decade
full of cultural advancement and prosperity. Among the many influential figures of the 1920s, Louise
Brooks became an icon of the decade. Brooks developed her fame as soon as she began her career, and

was also famous for her distinct personality.
Brooks became famous for popularizing the bobbed haircut while her daring personality differentiated
her from other females. Her unique persona and her sleek dark bob initiated her reputation for being
one of the wildest flappers of the decade. Though she became well known for starring as the lead in
three films, unlike most women, she refused to accept the sexual and restrictives roles women had in
America. She embraced the opportunity to go beyond society s conformities in the Roaring Twenties
because culture shifted and there was less social pressure to dress modestly. Harnessing this
opportunity, Brooks experimented with her fashion sense having worn pleated skirts, wide trousers,
velvet blazers, deep cut evening dresses worn without a bra, furs, silk blouses with geometric prints
and strings of pearls (Young). While others may have perceived her bold fashion to be vulgar, she also
was famous for her short hair. Brooks bob was one aspect of herself that represented her courage push
the limits. At the time most women grew their hair out, but as more females kept up with their fast

Essay Comparing The Devil And Tom Walker
The Devil and Tom Walker and the The Devil and Daniel Webster have many differences along with
several similarities. A few examples would be the different depiction of the Devil and the similarities
of the role of religion. Some points may be larger than others, but one can see the relationship between
both of the books in many different aspects of he was dressed in a rude, half Indian garb, and had a red

dingy and begrimed with soot, as if he had been accustomed to toil among fires and forges. (Irving, p.

The first difference between the short stories are their very own different depiction of the Devil. In
The Devil and Tom Walker, the devil is portrayed as a that confronts Tom about the deal that he can go

The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection
A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and many
buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become apparent. Your
home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your feet up, or spend time
with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you buy is safe and in good
condition. A home inspection can give you this peace of mind, using a visual inspection of every
aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional home inspector who has
the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems which may not be readily
apparent.
There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to
consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector been
doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How much
experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are buying? These
questions are important, because without adequate experience the inspector may miss signs of a
hidden problem. Choose a home inspection company that exclusively does only home inspections, and
does not just practice this as a sideline to their day job. Ask about the reports that will be given, will
you get a written report, an oral report, or both? Does the home inspection company have
certification? Do they

The Impeachment Of A Foreclosure Sale
Harding further asks us to confirm that the trial judge complied with the requirements of Md. Rule 14
305(e) when she ratified the foreclosure sale. Furthermore, Harding petitions us to subpoena certain
phone calls made between her and M T Bank officials. Harding s requests, however, are not properly
presented before this appellate court. Moreover, Harding has failed to present an argument that would
overcome the presumption of legitimacy we afford to the ratification of a foreclosure sale. Maryland
Rule 14 305(e) provides:

The death penalty was established in the eighteenth century BC, two main reasons the death penalty
was put into place was with the hope of reducing capital crime because of the result being in death and
the believe that criminals who did a crime so bad that qualify for death row did not deserve to live, but
that system is no longer believed to be effective anymore. According to U.S Newswire fifty seven
percent of police chiefs agreed that the death penalty does little to prevent violent crimes because
perpetrators rarely consider the consequences when engaged in violence(2). The death penalty is also
ineffective because ninety percent of offenders can not afford an adequate criminal defence lawyer.
This shows that only ten percent of offenders are getting the right defence against higher punishments
and charges. Some people argue that the death penalty is effective because people who qualify for
death row deserve to die, but many can also argue that the death row violates the constitution by using
inhuman and crucial punishments. People also use the quote An eye for an eye but would anyone

Essay on Heineken Case Study
HEINEKEN CASE STUDY 1. What strategy does Heineken follow in the global beer market?
The strategy that Heineken uses is that of differentiation. This strategy gains market share and
competitive advantage by distinguishing their products from their competitors through excellent
design. A U.S. wholesaler recently asked a group of marketing students to identify a group of beer
bottles that had been stripped of their labels. The stubby green Heineken bottle was the only one
among the group that showed an instant recognition. This strategy also focuses on high awareness,
easy accessibility, and new products. Heineken spent a lot of money on the launch of Premium Light;

Such cross border deals have provided significant benefits to the brewing giants. This has given them
ownership of local brands propelling them into dominant market positions around the world as global
brands sell at significantly higher prices and the margins are much better as compared to the local
beers.
3. What changes has Heineken made that will help it deal with its challenges?
Some of the changes that Heineken has implemented during the past few years include the following:
For the first time in the history of the company, the CEO is not a family member. Van Boxmeer was
appointed CEO although the family still maintains the controlling share of the company s stock. They
developed a plan called Fit 2 Fight which made several changes. Most of them aimed at streamlining
management. They cut the executive board from 5 members down to three. The new board is made up
of the CEO, COO, and CFO. The change is expected to assist the company in thinking about the steps
that it needs to take to win over younger customers across different markets whose tastes are still
developing. Heineken also created management positions that would be responsible for 5 different
operating regions and nine different functional areas. These positions were created to more clearly
define different spheres of responsibility. The management group was cut from 36 to 13 members in
order to speed up the decision making process. Also, the

James Baldwin, in his newspaper article, If Black English Isn t a Language, Then Tell me, What is?,
discusses the importance of language in the social world. He states that language connects one with, or
divorces one from, the larger, public, or communal identity. The name Redskins is pushed into the
conversation of the public, for it is the title of a popular sports team and discussed frequently. The
NFL is a part of the public discourse, for it is a major professional sports league, and a significant
element in America s culture. It has a sway with the public, for we know this national sport as our
nation s pastime sport: it captures our country s attention. Removing the Redskins name from football
would therefore contribute to its disappearance in the language world, for the NFL s influence over the
public is significant. It would stop promoting this demeaning language, and get it out of the public

Many settlers travelled east, but the most important religious group to travel east was the Mormons.
The Mormon religion was started by a person called Joseph Smith. A Smith grew up on his farm,

Manchester, New York. Once dug up, the plates were published in a translated version, which

After the death of the Mormon leader, a new leader called Brigham Young was introduced. Young was
convinced that the Mormons would not live in peace anywhere in the east. He had guidebooks about
the Oregon Trail, which contained the most reserved place in the entire west which was near the Great
Salt Lake. Young was an excellent organiser (he organised the move to Nauvoo), a down to earth man,
and was a determined man. He decided to move west and left Nauvoo in the spring of 1846. The
Mormons prepared for the great journey. As they entered the South pass, they met a person called Jim

Young simply ignored him. As soon as the Mormons arrived, they started the creation of there new
city. The Mormons achieved a lot, but did not know what was happening in the world around them. In
1848, America defeated Mexico in war. A large amount of the Mexican territory was handed over to

Differentiated Instruction–Literature Review.By Teri Daniel.
Differentiated Instruction Literature Review By Teri Daniel
Introduction What is Differentiated Instruction?
Students are different, just like people are different. There are many varied groups of students in one
classroom. Differentiated instruction is a process for teaching and learning for students of differing
abilities in the same class (Hall et al., 2011). The intent of differentiating instruction is to maximize
each student s growth, and individual success by meeting each student where he or she is, and
assisting in the learning process (Hall et al., 2011). Instruction is differentiated in classrooms through
content, process, products, and learning environment. Teachers must adapt curriculum and lesson

He rejected the idea that children are primarily motivated by rewards and punishments, rather,

In 1968, Fred Keller introduced the Keller Plan, to help students in Brazil master content at their own
pace. Curriculum was short units of written texts that students moved thru at their own pace, and then
took a test. If they failed a test, they repeat coursework until they could demonstrate mastery. Students
in these PSI courses (Keller Plan) learn course content better, remember it longer, and like the
experience more than students in traditional classes, (Fox, 2004).
In 1978, Lev Vygotsky conducted research in child psychology in the 1920s, but his work did not
reach the USA until 1978. He states: Every function in the child s cultural development appears twice:
first, on the social level, and later, on the individual level; first, between people (interpsychological)
and then inside the child (intrapsychological). (Vygotsky, 1978). He thought curriculum should be
interactive, teachers should scaffold by students performance, and assessment range on zone of
proximal development. This zone is where kids learn and described as what children can do at their
actual development and what they can do with help is their level of potential

Catiline is dutiful as well but as Sallust tells us these duties is tainted with its intent and motives.
Catiline s sense of duty is focusing on serving himself instead of the valued Roman sense of duty
where the good of the state, city or empire is meant to benefit instead of an individual. Sallust
provides an example of this selfishness that Catiline displays a covetous of others possessions, he was
prodigal of his own; he was violent in his passions. He possessed a certain amount of eloquence, but
little discretion. His disordered mind ever craved the monstrous, incredible, gigantic (5.4 5). Instead of
acting for the best of the whole state, Catiline is greedy for what others have as well as spending his
own wealth in a reckless and extravagant manner. Sallust goes on to hint that it would be somewhat
more acceptable if Catiline were trying to hide his unacceptable behavior and actions but instead his
conspicuous manner makes his actions that much worse and unacceptable. In short this quote shows
how Catiline is dutiful to his desires and self gain at the expense of others. This idea of duty is seen
and labeled throughout Virgil s works with Aeneas is referred to as the pious Aeneas meaning the
dutiful Aeneas. This sense of duty that Aeneas has to Rome and the will of the gods and

Killer Whales Kept in Captivity Essay
For several years, Americans have been visiting amusement parks, like SeaWorld and Six Flags, to
observe large animals like orcas, also known as killer whales. These whales are quite difficult to view
in the wild, but can now be seen for a simple fee. Orcas are known to be one of the smartest mammals.
They are friendly, and this has caused people to take advantage of them. For the past sixty years,
people have brought these massive creatures into their aquariums to make a profit from their
exhibitions. Often, without considering the orcas quality of life. While kept in captivity, killer whales
are forced to do many tricks they normally wouldn t do in the wild. Over the years, there have been

In 2010, Tillikum killed Dawn Brancheau, as described in a recent news article: The SeaWorld trainer,
he crushed, dismembered, and partially swallowed (Brower). Tillikum grabbed the trainer and dragged
her into the water. After seeing these incidents occur, people have urged SeaWorld to ban these
activities. Permitting such activities will create more problems that can cause the injury and death of
more people like Dawn, who love and cared for the animals. Some people argue that keeping orcas in
captivity is not a problem, yet they do not realize some of the limitations and dangers orcas suffer
when kept in captivity. One reason is that these unpredictable, thirty foot long creatures are usually
kept in a tank that is too small for them, compared to the ocean where they can swim freely. In
captivity, space is limited. According to one expert, orcas can swim up to 100 miles per day a
phenomenal amount, in comparison to the exercise they receive in captivity (Cronin). While in
captivity, an orca has to keep swimming in circles or float, unable to exercise adequately in a confined
space. The small tanks also prevent orcas from living in their natural group sizes, or pods. In the wild,
killer whales typically travel in pods of between five and 30 (Melissa). In captivity, fewer than five
whales are kept together, an imbalance that makes the whales more aggressive towards one another.
This can lead to dangerous, territorial situations in which captive

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Second Language Acquisition
Second language acquisition is a process whereby people learn an additional language on top of their
native ones. Learning a second language can be functional to oneself especially when communicating
with a person whom you do not have a common language with. In acquiring the second language,
there will be difficulties that one might face as compared to acquiring the first language, which makes
it harder to acquire. Our mother tongue is easier to learn as we would have been brought up by our
parents or grandparents that speak the language. Learning a second language can be difficult as we are
not brought up for that language and would not know the basis of it. Some factors that makes it hard is

This refers to the way the learner understands, analyze and interpret the information he/she
accumulates. Without proper understanding, the language can be misused and might lead to social
arguments. In cognitive style, there are two different types that plays a part Field independence and
Field dependence. Field independence is whereby the learner analyzes the information and branching
out the most relevant to the irrelevant information that helps his or her study of the language. Field
dependence on the other hand is the opposite whereby the learner takes into account all the
information without highlighting the key points. It is important for earners to adopt cognitive styles to
ensure that they have understood the language thoroughly so as to not make any mistakes while
communicating. The best style to adopt would be the Field Independence. By noting down the specific
points, a learner can better understand the use of the language appropriately. (Parker Riley, 2010, p.
95) In first language acquisition, as a child, they will go through the different stages of acquiring their
first language for example, acquisition of phonology. Through this, he/she can learn how and why a
certain word is pronounced in such a way. Acquiring this while at a young age can help them speak
the language fluently and with the right tone. If this stage is being followed during the acquisition of
the second language, the learner can better understand how the language is truly spoken. (Parker

Ralph Ellison Burgess Narrative Style
The narrative style that both Ellis and Burgess have given to their narrators creates a barrier between
the character and the reader. For example, the fact that Alex narrates the story using Burgess fictional
slang, or nadsat , in some senses excludes the reader, behind my Gulliver the trumpets three wise
silverflamed. This reflects the awareness of slang that followed hard upon the invention of teenagers,
but carried to an extreme. Alex, as with his language, is an extreme version of a current concern. But

In this sense, we are distanced from Bateman through narrative style. On the contrary, there are times
when Alex embraces us, the reader, as his friends , and labels himself as your humble narrator ,

derisive irony in Alex s tone but, nevertheless, there is a connection of sorts between character and
reader. This connection softens the dramatic blow of the violence the character of Alex carries out also
skilfully hidden through Burgess use of Nadsat, meaning the audience are perhaps more forgiving of
Alex s violence when it is so playfully and lovingly described as lovely roughing . The audience are
therefore more forgiving of Alex and his action and sympathise for him later in the novel. The playful
descriptions of such brutal acts demonstrates how Burgess was satirising how he youth have become

Casino Game Roulette
Roulette
Roulette is a casino game where The House or also known as the Dealer, rolls marbles around a
spinning circle that is slanted known as a roulette wheel. The wheel consists of 38 slots. The marble
rolls and will then eventually land on one of 38 red or black slots, numbered from 0 to 36 with there
being two zeros. The idea of the game is to guess where it s going to land. The lower the chance of
you guessing right, the higher the possible payout can be. Everyone places their bets on where they
think the marble could possibly land. The dealer then closes the table to betting and the marble is
rolled.
There area couple possibilities for winning. You can guess the exact number the marble will land on,

My Defining Moment Analysis
I think as doctors and nurses, most of us have had that defining moment in our lives when we knew
we were supposed to be in medicine. For me, that moment was about twenty years ago. I was outside
helping my mom in the front yard. She was pushing a lawnmower and tripped over a root. She fell
hard to the ground splitting her knee open to the bone. I ran inside the house; not to get my dad, but to
go get a towel and bandages to stop the bleeding. I begged and pleaded with my mother to let me
come with her to the ER. Reluctantly she gave in and agreed to let me come. From the moment I

Puerto Rico s Economy
Before we delve into the viability of recycling becoming Puerto Rico s economy of the future it is
imperative to understand the current status of the commonwealth s economy. Puerto Rico is currently
experiencing an economic crisis. In the midst of a 10 year recession, it is now $72 billion in debt. The
unemployment rate is currently 11.8 compared to 6.6 in Alaska, which has the highest unemployment
rate of any state. The island also has a poverty rate twice that of America s poorest state, Mississippi.
In a CNN Money article titled Why Puerto Rico s economy is in a death spiral by Patrick Gillespie the
author explains that despite Puerto Rico having a similar population to that of Connecticut, 3.5
million, it carries the same debt load of New York State, 20 million. Gillespie believes that the
problems stem from massive government overspending, a big dependence on debt and a costly,
inefficient energy system. The Puerto Rican government has not been able to grow the economy for
years leading to a rise in unemployment, business moving away from the island, and Puerto Ricans
moving the United States for employment opportunities. Unlike other islands in the Caribbean, Puerto
Rico imports crude oil to generate electricity for its residents, which results in a very costly process.

service. The Watch Night service can be drawn back to get togethers also known as Freedom s Eve.
On that night of December 31, 1862, Black slaves and freed blacks originated together in private
homes and churches all across the country awaiting on the news that the Emancipation Proclamation
actually had become a law. (The First Watch Night Service Occurs).
On January1, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Emancipation Proclamation, while the
nation was coming near its third year of the bloody civil war. The proclamation affirmed that all
persons held as slaves within the rebellious states are, and henceforward

There are many advantages to hiring an outside research company; they would be able to determine
who the target customers are, where these customers are located, how to reach the target customers
and exactly what type of product or services they are looking for. Once the marketing research
company determines all of these issues, CanGo would be more effective in marketing their product.
Issue 2: The fact that no one is tracking where the work is and who is supposed to be working on what
can lead to many problems. Some employees may be doing more work than others because they are
efficient and everything seems to land on their desk while others may be receiving credit for work
they are not doing. In the video we saw that Nick was tasked out with creating a process flow chart,
but he passed it on to someone else, and that some one pass it down to two more people. I believe in
fair and equal work between team members so they should break down the work prior to initiating any
task. There is nothing wrong with helping your teammates but not do the work for them. Passing work
like that can also lead to it getting misplaced. They should use a flow chart to track where the work is.
A Gantt chart or a document flow chart seem like a perfect fit for this occasion. The document flow
chart will trace the process flow chart document through the system to avoid it getting lost. Losing
information can also lead to

The Pareto Principle
Pareto s Principle 5 Implications For Online Businesses The Pareto Principle applies to a variety of
economic and business situations and states that roughly 80% of the outputs are directly attributable to
only 20% of the inputs. This concept is also frequently referred to as the 80/20 Principle or the Law of
the Vital Few.
The Pareto Principle is named for Italian economist, Vilfredo Federico Damaso Pareto who, in 1906,
discovered that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by only 20% of the people. Later he recognized
that same lop sided relationship applied to other things as well (e.g., gardening).
Note that the 80% and 20% are not absolute values; rather, it is simply the unequal distribution that is
significant.
1. Individual Considerations:

3. Website Considerations:
Distribution is about getting the products to the customer, and in an online world, much of that
distribution happens via one or more of your websites.
Identify Your Critical 20% Websites
20% of websites account for 80% of the hits.
Determine Critical Traffic Patterns
Roughly 80% of your visitors see only 20% of your website pages. (This stat holds true for both B2B
and B2C, but may not hold true for pure content sites.)
Check Your Web Traffic Logs
You ll find that a small number of keywords, search engines websites give you the lion s share of your
traffic.
The Pareto Principle can provide guidance as you apply SEO to your pages and optimize traffic
patterns.
4. Management Implications:
Small companies, such as the bulk of internet businesses, drive the nation s economy. Your small
business will benefit if you understand how Pareto s Principle affects your results.

Legal Case Summary
In the case scenario presented by Professor Wilikins (2018) ask, A police officer hears a rumor that
Dave is selling illegal drugs out of his house. One day while patrolling the neighborhood, the officer
sees Dave walking down the street. The officer approaches Dave and tells him he is worried about him
and asks permission to search his house. Dave asks the officer if he must allow him to search his
house. The officer responds by telling Dave that if he doesn t, he will go attempt to get a search
warrant. Based on this, Dave consents to allow the police officer to search his house, and the officer
finds over one hundred baggies of drugs. The first question is, Did the officer violate any of Dave s
constructional rights? The according to the Legal Information Institute (2017) the Fourth Amendments
says, The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against
unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon

It was up to Dave to know his rights and not let the search be allowed, knowing that the officer would
search his home and find illegal drugs. The drugs in this case would be admissible in the criminal case
against him. Due do the consent Dave gave to the officer. Therefore, the officer did his job by asking.
Was the officer misleading by the way he worded his concerns to Dave? Some would say yes, because
full disclosure of his concerns was not established. Dave did not have to give consent. Dave could
have requested that the officer in question returned with a search warrant. In doing so this may have
given Dave enough time to destroy possible evidence which would allowed the officer to proceed with
a search anyway. This would apply under the exclusionary rule. Either way the officer was not at fault
and the evidence in my opinion would be admissible in criminal

Julius Caesar Fate Vs Free Will
Free will is the ability to act in one s own decision. Free will is more common than fate because
people make their own decisions. It is free will to live your life how you want to but fate only pops up
once in a while. Free will is the strongest force in the world.
A person has many common free wills in a day. If they decide to go to Starbucks and get a coffee, that
s free will because they are not being forced, but fate would be if there was a pre made cup of coffee
made on her window sill. Working out is never forced and people never happen to walk into a gym.
They have to want to want to work out; they also has the free will to stay at home and do absolutely
nothing. When someone goes work it is free will but it is even more free ... Show more content on

One of the first free will that had a major impact was when the conspiracy decided that they were
going to kill Caesar (2, 1, 6). Calpurnia is Caesars wife; she has a dream that her husband will die
soon and she is very worried that he will go to the capital the next day and be killed. When she tells
this story to Caesar he believes it is non sense until she persuades him to stay. But then Decius comes
and says that that was not what the dream meant and that he should go. The only one that can make
this decision is Caesar himself with his own free will. And so he decides to go to the capitol. (2, 2, 1 to
2, 2, 5) this leads to the death and his good friend Mark Antony is secretly mad about this and when
Brutus who would have been named leader allows him to speak to the people about his death he uses
his free will to turn the people against the conspirators and sends the people into battle with him.(3,2,1
to 3,2,12)
Once the battle of plebeians or the people of Rome and conspirators is coming to an end Brutus uses
his final free will to take his own life.
In conclusion, Free will is stronger than fate because most of the actions that happen in this world are
not just coincidences or meant to happen it s mainly the action of one making a decision. Yes fate does
sometimes happen but likely they are caused by freewill or will become

Why Is Ulysses S. Grant Ineffective
Widely viewed as one of the most incompetent presidents in the history of the United States (Craig),
Ulysses S. Grant s two time administration can be marked as a widescale and colossal failure.
Consistently, Grant s presidency has been denounced time and time again by most historians as the
most corrupt in United States presidential history (Craig). Grant s tenure as the United States President
can be observed as decidedly ineffectual due to his political inexperience, maintenance of the spoils
system , lack of oversight into governmental scandals, failure to enact lasting action during
Reconstruction, and his pioneering of the concept of Grantism .
As displayed through the tenure of Ulysses S Grant, political inexperience makes for an incompetent

Grant s lack of action during Reconstruction led to enduring problems in the American South that are
tangible to this day. His caution in enforcing voting rights and civil liberties legislation led to the
emergence of Jim Crow Laws and the Ku Klux Klan, their influence still occurring well into the
twentieth century and further. As the South was ravaged by the long lasting and enduring effects of the
Civil War, Grant was very ineffective in fostering a culture of renewal in the region, instead sowing
discord among the economic, social, and political factions of an area torn apart by war. The Ku Klux
Klan enacted horrible and vicious hate crimes that struck fear into the hearts of recently freed African
Americans attempting to live in a world where their very existence was threatened ( Reconstruction
and Its Aftermath ). In the Grant era succeeding the Emancipation Proclamation and African American
military service, the nation remained unwilling to award African Americans the full scope of rights
deserved to their status as American citizens. The formal Congressional period of Reconstruction,
from 1866 to 1877, was intended to readmit the former Rebel states into the Union, rebuild and
reinvigorate communities ravaged by war, and eliminate the highly visible vestiges of Southern slave
society. The events transpiring during these efforts made the whole affair largely ineffectual and
reductive ( Reconstruction and Its Aftermath). In response, the South provided a marked resistance to
the attempted establishment of civil rights and liberties for recently freed slaves, producing such
scourges as the Ku Klux Klan, Grandfather Clause, and Jim Crow Laws. Beyond enforcing the
rudimentary legislation that would grant basic agency to African Americans, Grant failed to institute
long term and helpful efforts that would diminish the culture of racialized violence and white
supremacy in the South. The Ku Klux Klan still exerted widescale political and local influence

The Pros And Cons Of A Class Action Law Suit
A class action law suit or class suit is a type of lawsuit where one of the parties is a group of people
who are represented collectively by a member of that group. Some advantages of this is that it is lower
costs of litigation because the expenses are shared among the class members who pay nothing up front
and even then only if the lawyer is able to settle or their behalf or win do they pay, it is a stronger
position because the very nature of a large group of people with a similar claim leads to a stronger
negotiating position, etc. One con of this is that there is a lack of control because only the
representative parties have decision making power to settle and to make other important decisions
regarding the lawsuit and it takes time because

Prostate Cancer And Psa Testing
6.0 Understanding Prostate Cancer
6.1 A general discussion about prostate cancer in NZ
This cancer is unusual in that it takes a long time (15 20 years or more) to progress from a localised
state in the prostate to metastatic disease and death. Men whose cancer is in the localised state may
have no prostate symptoms, no bleeding or pain. The tumour is too small to cause obstruction or
LUTS (In older men coexisting BPH may cause LUTS, but there may be a cancer present too).
Research on the incidence of Prostate Cancer and PSA testing in NZ Māori has shown that although
Māori have a decreased incidence compared to all men, their mortality rate is higher, and there is a
reduced rate of PSA testing. Pacific men have the same incidence and mortality as all men.
A positive Family History of prostate cancer is significant, having a first degree relative (brother or
father) increases the risk by 2 2.5 times, if 2 or more the risk is increased by 5 11 times. There is a
genetic (hereditary disease) sub group that accounts for near 10% of cases, this is likely if three or
more relatives.
Prostate cancer occurs mainly in older men. Nearly two thirds are diagnosed in men aged 65 or older,
and it is rare before age 40. The average age at the time of diagnosis is about 67. Prostate cancer is the
second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer. In New Zealand

Sexual Abuse And Domestic Violence
People who experience sexual abuse or domestic violence always blame themselves due to guilt and
low self esteem, also because the abuser is very dominant and can make the victim believe that it s
their fault. As Lievore suggested a few number of personal barriers:
 Humiliation, awkwardness;
 Thinking that what their partner is doing is not a crime and shouldn t be report as they d refuse to
testify against them.
 They don t want other people knowing.
 Blaming themselves or believe that other people would blame them for it.
 Going through the situation quietly and not sharing it with anyone else
 Making excuses or protecting the abuser. (Lievore 2003) And a few barriers at the level of the
justice system include:
 Thinking that the police wouldn t be able to help
 Dread of being treated badly by others or looked down upon
 Scared of legal procedures
 Not having enough evidence to prove the incident
 Not being aware of the reporting system (Lievore 2003)
The blocks recognized by (Lievore 2005) have an individual and social estimation and give an aide of
the mental region subject to be possessed by various survivors. All are fit for bringing about excited

the psychosocial inconvenience starting now passed on by survivors. This weight is the one with
which advantage suppliers must snare when they work with setback/survivors and make intercessions

A Brief Note On Armenia And The Soviet Nation
Like everyone else in my family, I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. My parents decided to move our
family to the United States in 2000 to live with my grandfather on my mom s side. We left our entire
family in Armenia to be able to have a better life in the United States. Armenia was a soviet nation and
when the USSR collapsed, so did most of Armenia s economy. People struggled to make money and
life there quickly became very hard. My parents always tell me stories of when my brother and I were
babies and what our family had to do to be able to provide food and clothes for us. There were certain
times a day where families got electricity and water. People that didn t live in the city lives in ore rural
areas that were referred to villages since they were underdeveloped. People in the city lived in
apartments. It was very common for people to live with entire families in a small home or apartment.
My parents lived in my dad s family home in the city with his entire family of twelve people. My
parents struggled a lot to be able to keep my brother and I comfortable through the freezing winters
and scorching summers. Life in Armenia became too hard for them. That s when they decided it was
time to make a huge change and leave everyone we knew behind to move to a foreign nation with a
dream of having a better life. We moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to live with my grandfather. I don t
remember much from that time since I was so young, but I do remember how different everything
was.

The amendments to the Income tax Act, in 1939, made two vital structural changes: (i) appellate
functions were separated from administrative functions; a class of officers, known as Appellate
Assistant Commissioners, thus came into existence, and (ii) a central charge was created in Bombay.
In 1940, with a view to exercising effective control over the progress and inspection of the work of
Income tax Department throughout India, the very first attached office of the Board, called Directorate
of Inspection (Income Tax) was created. As a result of separation of executive and judicial functions,
in 1941, the Appellate Tribunal came into existence. In the same year, a central charge was created in
Calcutta also.
3.1 World War II brought unusual profits to businessmen. During 1940 to 1947, Excess Profits Tax
and Business Profits Tax were introduced and their administration handed over to the Department
(These were later repealed in 1946 and 1949 respectively). In 1951, the 1st Voluntary Disclosure
Scheme was brought in. It was during this period, in 1946, that a few Group A officers were directly
recruited. Later on in 1953, the Group A Service was formally constituted as the Indian Revenue
Service .
3.2 This era was characterised by considerable emphasis on development of investigation techniques.
In 1947, Taxation on Income (Investigation) Commission was set up which was declared ultra vires by

  • 2. Hard Drive Advantages And Disadvantages The conventional turning hard drive is the fundamental nonvolatile stockpiling on a PC. That is, data on it doesn t leave when you kill the framework, as is valid for information put away in RAM. A hard drives is basically a metal platter with an attractive covering that stores your information, whether climate reports from the most recent century, a superior quality duplicate of the Star Wars set of three, or your advanced music gathering. A read/compose head on an arm gets to the information while the platters are turning. A SSD does practically everything a hard drive does, yet information is rather put away on interconnected glimmer memory chips that hold the information notwithstanding when there s no force present. The chips can either be for all time introduced on the framework s motherboard (as on some little portable PCs and ultrabooks), on a PCI Express (PCIe) card (in some top of the line workstations), or in a crate that is estimated, molded, and wired to opening in for a tablet or desktop s hard drive (basic on everything else). These blaze memory chips are of an alternate sort than is utilized as a part of USB thumb drives, and are ordinarily quicker and more solid. SSDs are therefore more costly than USB thumb drives of the same limits. Note: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Political Machines And Reformers In The 19th Century Political machines and the reformers who rallied against them had incredible influence in urban politics in the 19th and early 20th century. Each, however, has been labeled as corrupt monopolies and are seen as selfish towards their own goals. While there are tactics that worked to help cities grow stronger, the value of equal voting for all citizens was compromised in each regime s quest for power. Political bosses, heads of the political machine, focused on the vast influx of immigrants coming to the United States in the 19th century and targeted not only them but also poor, working class citizens. Political bosses ensured support was by offering goods and services, including business contracts and licences within the city s growing areas, otherwise known as bribery. Because the growing areas of cities mostly consisted of immigrants and the poor, the trade of a vote in exchange to a good or a service was appealing to constituents and even more so to political bosses. Machines offered jobs for immigrants, generating the possibility of a citizen s personal upward mobility. However, these services were not always equal, and machines were willing to act with hostility when their wishes were not met. While machines aided in the assimilation of immigrants into the ... Sure, people know some things about me, although there are none that know me truly. I have struggled and thrived, gained hobbies and lost interest. Never has my life been at a standstill. Andreana. The name given to me at birth, the one to stay with me until my death. My father, Andre, gave me this name to somehow incorporate himself into me. He pretty much combined his name and Ana, resulting with what is now my name. Not everyone is able to pronounce it correctly; never had I heard someone say it correctly on the first try without my aid. My grandpa in particular thought it was too complex, settling on calling me Ana instead. In addition, my name also means strong and manly, of which I can mostly agree with. • 5. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Creaming Creaming or skimming[edit] In most skimming, goods are higher priced so that fewer sales are needed to break even. Selling a product at a high price, sacrificing high sales to gain a high profit is therefore skimming the market. Skimming is usually employed to reimburse the cost of investment of the original research into the product: commonly used in electronic markets when a new range, such as DVD players, are firstly dismarket at a high price. This strategy is often used to target early adopters of a product or service. Early adopters generally have a relatively lower price sensitivity this can be attributed to: their need for the product outweighing their need to economise; a greater understanding of the product s value; or simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First degree price discrimination The business charges every consumer exactly how much they are willing to pay for the product. 2. Second degree price discrimination The business uses volume discounts which allows buyers to purchase a higher inventory at a reduced price. While this benefits the high inventory buyer, it obviously hurts the low inventory buyer who is forced to pay a higher price. This buyer may then be less competitive in the downstream market. 3. Third degree price discrimination This occurs when firms segment the market into high demand and low demand groups.[16] Firm need to ensure they are aware of several factors of their business before proceeding with the strategy of price discrimination. Firms must have control over the changes they make regarding the price of their product by which they can gain profitability depending on the amount of sales made. The price can be increased or decreased at any point depending on the fluctuation of the rate of buyers and consumers. Price discrimination strategy is not feasible for all firms as there are many consequences that the firms may face due to the action. For example: if a firm sells a product to their customer for a cheaper price and that customer resells the product demanding a higher price from another buyer then the chances of the firm failing to make a higher profit is predicted because they could have sold their product at a higher rate than the re seller and made further ... Essay on Dickens Social Commentary in Great Expectations Dickens Social Commentary in Great Expectations Charles Dickens Great Expectations stands as one of the most highly revered works in all of English literature. The novel s perennial appeal lies in its penetrating depictions of character, rich panoramas of social milieu, and implicit crusades against social evils.1 Dickens used the growth of his characters in Great Expectations, particularly Pip, in relation to others to write about social reform, and most effectively illustrated this by using the first person narrative style. This novel is a first person narrative because it is Pip s own story. Since it is about his own life it makes it easy for the reader to identify with Pip and what he is going through. In a first person narrative you know from the very beginning of the story the conflict between the narrator and the main character will be resolved.4 In Great Expectations the narrator is the main character grown up and telling about his experiences as a young boy. It requires the use of the anaerobic systems that are assisted by the aerobic system during recovery aster short bursts of play (AIS Sports Nutrition, 2013). The game consists of seven players on court at any one time, that are limited to a particular court space, depending on their position. The game consists of four, fifteen minute quarters with three minute breaks between the first and second quarter, then again between the third and four quarters. A five minute break occurs at half time. Nature of the Activity: Netball is predominately a running sport, with multiple short, explosive sprints incorporated to lose the defending player and receive the ball from the attacking teammates. Reverend Dimmesdale comes to understand that one s relationship with God supersedes any other relationship one has, whether it s with one s beloved, one s children, or one s social circle. He expresses it publicly on the scaffold in a dramatic sequence in a passage in chapter 23. Throughout the story Dimmesdale is supposed to be an example of upright godly behavior but he s lying everyday, all the time, in every relationship because he had an affair with Hester. While adultery was illegal, it was also against one of God s Ten Commandments. Dimmesdale tells the people while they ve always seen Hester s sign of sin, they never knew about his own. Yet, God s eye beheld it! The angels were forever pointing at it! The devil knew it well and fretted it continually with the touch of his burning finger! (Page number). • 13. Analysis Of The Story Of Ishmael And The Story Of Esau Two stories and One lesson While reading the story of Ishmael and the story of Esau, readers could easily find some similarities. Both stories delineates the process of the disfranchisement of the elder sons firstborn right, the expulsion of certain characters, and the instruction of God. Those similarities make people to wonder that whether the two stories are just the same kind of story written to teach the believer the same lesson. This essay is divided into three parts and aimed to prove that the disfranchisement stories of Ishmael and Esau are essentially the same story told over two generations First of all, every main character of the Ismael narratives has its exact counterpart in the Esau narratives: Ishmael corresponds to Esau, Isaac to Jacobs, Abraham to Isaac, and Sarah to Rebekah. In Ishmael and Esau s case, according to Genesis, Ishmael was the child of Hager, the Egyptian slave, and Abraham. The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and many buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become apparent. Your home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your feet up, or spend time with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you buy is safe and in good condition. A home inspection can give you this peace of mind, using a visual inspection of every aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional home inspector who has the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems which may not be readily apparent. There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector been doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How much experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are buying? While in captivity, an orca has to keep swimming in circles or float, unable to exercise adequately in a confined space. The small tanks also prevent orcas from living in their natural group sizes, or pods. In the wild, killer whales typically travel in pods of between five and 30 (Melissa). For me, that moment was about twenty years ago. I was outside helping my mom in the front yard. She was pushing a lawnmower and tripped over a root. She fell hard to the ground splitting her knee open to the bone. I ran inside the house; not to get my dad, but to go get a towel and bandages to stop the bleeding. I begged and pleaded with my mother to let me come with her to the ER. Reluctantly she gave in and agreed to let me come. From the moment I walked in the door, I was fascinated with everything I saw. I remember watching him, and not wanting to leave the ER that night. It was at that point I knew that I wanted to work in medicine. Fast forward twenty years and my love for medicine has not changed; in fact I think it has only deepened. The unemployment rate is currently 11.8 compared to 6.6 in Alaska, which has the highest unemployment rate of any state. The island also has a poverty rate twice that of America s poorest state, Mississippi. In a CNN Money article titled Why Puerto Rico s economy is in a death spiral by Patrick Gillespie the author explains that despite Puerto Rico having a similar population to that of Connecticut, 3.5 million, it carries the same debt load of New York State, 20 million. Gillespie believes that the problems stem from massive government overspending, a big dependence on debt and a costly, inefficient energy system. The Puerto Rican government has not been able to grow the economy for years leading to a rise in unemployment, business moving away from the island, and Puerto Ricans moving the United States for employment opportunities. Unlike other islands in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico imports crude oil to generate electricity for its residents, which results in a very costly process. Calpurnia is Caesars wife; she has a dream that her husband will die soon and she is very worried that he will go to the capital the next day and be killed. When she tells this story to Caesar he believes it is non sense until she persuades him to stay. But then Decius comes and says that that was not what the dream meant and that he should go. The only one that can make this decision is Caesar himself with his own free will. And so he decides to go to the capitol. Grant s lack of action during Reconstruction led to enduring problems in the American South that are tangible to this day. His caution in enforcing voting rights and civil liberties legislation led to the emergence of Jim Crow Laws and the Ku Klux Klan, their influence still occurring well into the twentieth century and further. As the South was ravaged by the long lasting and enduring effects of the Civil War, Grant was very ineffective in fostering a culture of renewal in the region, instead sowing discord among the economic, social, and political factions of an area torn apart by war. The Ku Klux Klan enacted horrible and vicious hate crimes that struck fear into the hearts of recently freed African Americans attempting to live in a world where their very existence was threatened ( Reconstruction and Its Aftermath ). In the Grant era succeeding the Emancipation Proclamation and African American military service, the nation remained unwilling to award African Americans the full scope of rights deserved to their status as American citizens. The formal Congressional period of Reconstruction, from 1866 to 1877, was intended to readmit the former Rebel states into the Union, rebuild and reinvigorate communities ravaged by war, and eliminate the highly visible vestiges of Southern slave society. The events transpiring during these efforts made the whole affair largely ineffectual and reductive ( Reconstruction and Its Aftermath). In response, the South provided a marked resistance to the attempted establishment of civil rights and liberties for recently freed slaves, producing such scourges as the Ku Klux Klan, Grandfather Clause, and Jim Crow Laws. Beyond enforcing the rudimentary legislation that would grant basic agency to African Americans, Grant failed to institute long term and helpful efforts that would diminish the culture of racialized violence and white supremacy in the South.
