Formula 1 Formula 1 is the top tier of racing. Formula 1 is the ultimate test of speed, endurance,
and focus. Teams from all over the world come together to put their drivers and their cars to the
test. Formula 1 had a television audience of 425 million people during the 2014 season. Formula 1
racing has not only been a sport for racing enthusiast but has also had a huge impact on automobile
competition. The first Formula One World Championship race was at the Silverstone Circuit in
England. The cars were built for high top speed. The cars were very dangerous and the races were
held with no medical professionals. The death tolls in races were high, 13 drivers were killed in F1
cars in the first decade. Now all cars must have a fire extinguishing system that will activate in the
cockpit and engine bay in case of a fire. It must be able to be activated by the driver when they are
seated normally with his seat belts and function even if the car s electrical system fails or if the car

Is Us Military Becoming Outdated
In a 2015 article, Is U.S. military becoming outdated? written by Stuart Bradin, Keenan Yoho, and
Meaghan Keeler Pettigrew, the authors argued that despite the U.S. military maintaining a position
of global dominance without peer during conventional operations, it is not the ideal force against
current and future threats. The authors claim that there are several negative factors arising due to
the past sixteen years of war against several state and non state elements, inferior cultural
differences of government bureaucracycompared to commercial firms, and a misallocation of
defense spending that leaves the US militarywaging war inefficiently while simultaneously losing
technological dominance against current and future threats.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Night vision devices, increasingly cheap and prolific, has also reduced US military dominance,
regressing US combat power back to the days of the Vietnam Conflict where the Viet Cong owned
the night. Social media, stable and available to all, also allows the enemy advanced warning of US
activities by way of not only their own organic capacity but that of neutral or unknowing elements
who just want to be the first to identify something new and exciting to anyone willing to listen or
watch. The authors also correctly identified the inferior culture of the US bureaucracy in
comparison to more agile commercial firms. While performing relatively slowly, rigidly, and
inefficiently, the bureaucracy would continue as normal until it finds itself outmaneuvered and
outgunned by more agile threats. Moreover, within the US bureaucracy, the few leaders who are
capable of revolutionary thinking are often marginalized and buried by the more conservative
thinkers. Successful commercial firms, on the other hand, have proven to perform more quickly
and efficiently through the correct allocation of resources. This can be seen in the most successful
firms to include Apple, Google, and Amazon with a much more streamlined and less risk averse as
well as profitable cultures. Contrary to the acceptable evidence that the authors provided by

Violence as a Social Problem Essay
Violence is a social problem that increases over the years. Violence is not so much shown in
magazines and books as it is on television and the media. This does not mean that violence on
television is the only source for aggressive or violent behavior, but it is a significant contributor.
Children can also pick up violencefrom a parent or guardian at an early age. Peers are important
in a child s life. It has been psychologically proven that males are more aggressive than females.
Therefore, if a child s peers are being aggressive, their actions tend to be imitated.
American children watch an average of three to four hours of television daily, which can be a
powerful influence in developing value systems and shaping behavior. ... Show more content on

A child s peers mean a lot to their attitude whether one wants to believe it or not. It blends in with
their need to fit in. Popularity is what one hopes and dreams for during their teenage years.
Therefore, children try to duplicate others actions. This factor may tend to lead to racial or sexual
stereotyping consequently making the child believe that anyone different from these characteristics
should be punished. This takes the child into the stage of what type of music to listen to as spoken
about before.
Everyday we are all caught in a losing battle, the challenge of our society to preserve safety for
children and protect them from violence and guns. The facts are that violence is everywhere, it is
impossible to ignore them. It even seems as though no one recognized this as their problem or
responsibility. Our deteriorating sense of community is everyone s problem. It hs been proven that
more teenage boys die from gunfire that from car accidents. These gunshot wounds are now a
leading cause of death for teenage boys.
In conclusion, we as a society should realize that it s never too young to learn. We all picked up
certain characteristics from someone. To offset peer pressure among friends and classmates, parents
should contact other parents and agree to enforce similar rules about what their children should
watch, play with or stay around. If parents have serious

Abolishing The Death Penalty
The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is a practice done by governments where a
person is put to death for breaking certain laws. The death penalty has been used since ancient times
as a way to punish lawbreakers and deter others from committing the same crime. As modern times
approached, however, there have been large debates within countries as to whether or not they
should continue using the death penaltyor completely abolish the practice. People all over the
world argue about if it is a good way to punish to terrible criminals and stops others from
committing horrible crimes, or if it is a practice that can cause innocent people to wrongly be
sentenced to death and enforces the prejudiced police system. As of December 2017,... Show more

However, the phrase worst of the worst does not have a set definition and people s opinions on
what is evil vary greatly from person to person. One article about the morality of capital punishment
expresses, Depending on how you think about death...you might oppose the death penalty on the
grounds that it is disproportionately harsh perhaps you think that no matter what someone has
done, she does not deserve to die for it, (Howard). Both sides are trying to argue that their stance
is morally just because everyone has a different set of morals, so it is not best to use morals as
the basis for their discussions. Additionally, states that use the death penalty do not have strict
regulations on what the worst of the worst really is, which leads to more changes in what types
of crimes warrant the death penalty, which then can lead to more executions. For example,
Arizona s history with the death penalty shows how our lack of understanding of what types of
people should be sentenced to death can lead to the practice being applied arbitrarily. In 1973,
Arizona adopted a law which states that prosecutors had to prove that a criminal did one of six
aggravating factors do warrant them being sentenced to death. Since then though, Arizona has
more than doubled their number of factors to fourteen (Tribe). This is a problem known as
aggravator creep and it is where if a change or exception is made, more and more will

Ibo Vs. Afghan Festivals

Ibo VS Afghan Festivals/Holidays
The daily life of every human being has been refined by the lifestyle passed down from one s
guardians, their community, and the environment they are exposed to. Every culture contains
some sort of celebration and/or a holiday. Through the schedules of people s lives, there are
special occasions in which are celebrated for different reasons. Usually, these days are eagerly
awaited for and have days of preparation to lead up to the event. The Ibo and Afghan culture
have great similarities in preparation and style of celebration, but also have major differences in
the reason for celebration. In the Ibo culture, one of the most awaited holidays is the New Yams
Festival, and in the Afghan culture Eid al Fitr is the greatest celebrated holiday. While this

spiritually gotten closer to God in the previous month of Ramadan. The Ibo festival lasts two days

Economic Effectiveness And Impact Of The Bank
The Export Import Bank of the United States just lapsed for the first time in over 80 years on
June 30, 2015. The primary activity of the Export Import Bank is to provide export subsidies to
buyers and sellers of U.S. exports. Its ultimate goal is to shift global market share to U.S. based
corporations and away from corporations headquartered in other countries so as to boost the
U.S. economy on the global scale. The purpose of this paper is to determine the economic
effectiveness and impact of the Bank and to discuss the implications for international, national
and local economies should the Bank fail to be reauthorized by Congress and permanently
expire. Background Objectives Established in 1934 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a part
of his New Deal stimulus package, the Export Import (Ex Im) Bank of the United States, a small
federal government agency, is the official Export Credit Authority (ECA) for the United States.
Today, the Bank is responsible for assistance in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to
international markets. Ex Im s mission statement says that its activities help to maintain and create
U.S. jobs, contributing to a stronger national economy. Driven by market demand, the Bank seeks
to provide financing for foreign export projects when the private sector is unwilling or unable to
do so typically in the case of U.S. small and medium sized businesses, which reportedly account for
nearly 85 percent of Ex Im s transactions.

Melting Point Range Of Unknown 8 And Maleic Acid
The results in Table 1 from part 1 of the experiment are accurate in melting point ranges for each
compound. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. Urea is a little bit higher
than from its melting point range of 132В°C 133В°C and trans cinnamic acid is in its melting
point range of 132В°C 135В°C. They are both pure compounds because they stayed relatively
close to their melting point ranges. The 50/50 mixture has a lower melting point and a broader
melting point range because each compound acts as an impurity in the other. The results in Table
2 from part 2 of the experiment have higher melting points than their supposed melting point
range. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. The unknown 8 compound was
guessed to be maleic acid since its melting point was in the range 137В°C 140В°C. For the final
trial, however, both unknown 8 and maleic acid had higher melting points out of the range and the
50/50 mixture melted first. This was because the maleic acid used was made from two different
salts causing the melting point to be slightly off. In this case, maleic acid is the correct compound
of unknown 8 and the melting points are fine.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the introduction of the experiment it stated that, Chemists can only obtain a melting range of a 2

were a little higher than the supposed melting range, but knowing that only a 2 3В°C accuracy can

Rokeach (1960) asserts that Belief Congruence Theory can be applied when whether there is a
group of people is having similar beliefs that will result in social harmony or a group of people
that is having different beliefs which conversely will bring to disharmony. In fact, this theory is
one of the theories of Prejudice. Belief is more important than ethnic or racial membership as a
determinant of social discrimination (Rokeach, 1960, p.135). In another word, this statement
illustrates that belief is a crucial element in resulting in cognitive dissonance or cognitive
consonance. The scene above shows Mike eventually accepts the beliefs that uphold by his
colleagues and they then uphold the similar beliefs which are the belief in the value of
cooperation. At the beginning, Mike refuses to cooperate with his team members because he has
no belief in the value of cooperation. He then rejects to obey to Becky s instruction, refuses to
work with Colleen peacefully and does not willing to follow the organization of the team. It is

Medicine and Cardiology
Cardiology is mainly perceived as a study of the functions and disorders of the heart. However, it
is really much more than that. Since 13,000 B.C. medicine has been a thriving area of study. Even
more specifically than that, the heart has been a thriving area of study. As a result of the heart
being the organ that keeps one alive, numerous physicians from the past and the present strived to
decipher the heart. Since the heart has yet to be completely figured out, cardiology proves to be a
promising career in the future. In the beginning of time, herbalism was the first known form of
medicine. At the time however it was more seen as a type of religion. Many people thought
diseases were caused by the gods when they were angry. Therefore... Show more content on

This contributed to cardiology as a practice of medicine because people were able to make
diagnosis about the heart. In 1816, Rene T.H. Laennec invented the stethoscope. This also
contributed to cardiology as a practice of medicine. In 1903, William Einthoven invented the
electrocardiograph. This led to cardiology as a medicine because it helped take down the
rhythms of a heart to make sure that one s heart was just the right speed. (Occupational Outlook
Handbook) In 1912, James Herrick took a huge step in the right direction when he discovered
how heart disease occurs. From his research, he came up with the idea of hardening of the
arteries and its contributions to affecting the heart. He realized that heart diseases occur when
arteries aren t functioning correctly. Therefore, if arteries were hardening blood flow couldn t
flow normally and the heart would loose blood and oxygen resulting in a diseased heart.
(History of Medicine) In 1938, Robert E. Gross performed the first heart surgery. He performed
the surgery on the great vessels near the heart. This was monumental in cardiology history. With
this, many other heart surgeries were able to be performed. In 1951, Charles Hufnagel developed
a plastic valve to fix an aortic valve. (History of Medicine + Occupational Outlook Handbook)
In 1952, F. John Lewis performed the first open heart surgery. This was a huge event in the history
of cardiology. Not only did Lewis perform the surgery, but

The Different Lighting Techniques In The Film Touch Of Evil

used throughout the clip each one of these different lighting set ups is used for a different reason
either to set a mood or even put emphasis on a certain subject this paper will discuss the different
techniques used in the touch of evil scene
A prime example of cameo lighting is within the first 5 to 10 seconds of the film there s a key light
shining from the side of the characters to create deep and very dense shadows on the side of their
features as well as some other shadows this is just enough light to show some scenery in the
background but it s very very little this is a prime example of cameo lighting

focuses on selective illumination in small amounts of background lighting there s also some
transparency in the shadows that are created so more than likely a key light and a fill light are used

Implementation Of A Negotiation Is A Communication Method
Negotiation Style A negotiation is a communication method in which several parties talk over
problems and endeavor to solve them via discussion in order to reach a resolution (Lewicki,
Barry, Saunders, 2011). Negotiations occur regularly on micro and macro scales, both in the
professional or personal which could be at the office and or in everyday life. Your approach and
style can make the different between a make or break deal. If attaining an agreement in a
negotiation is based on collaboration and collaboration is based on trust, then to be an effective
negotiator you need to spawn trust between yourself and the other party. Trust comes from being
natural and being yourself, not from trying to be something you re not, a fake. Once you re aware
of your negotiation style you know what can realistically be improved and what can t. The purpose
of this paper is to outline my findings from reflective questionnaires and to compile a plan to

Comparing Why The Geese Shrieked And Yentl The Yeshiva Boy
Nobody ever said life is easy. In fact, it s really about proving you can face challenges. This is
evident in Isaac Bashevis Singer s short stories Why the Geese Shrieked and Yentl the Yeshiva Boy
. Although The Mother, Yentl, and Hadass, the female characters of these stories, live in different
places during different times, they all face challenges of gender.
The situations that these characters encounter are quite different, at least on the outside. Mother is
a rationalist and the wife of a mystic rabbi. She suggests that there must be a logical explanation for
this sound because slaughtered geese don t shriek but her husband thinks there must be some
supernatural explanation as to why they are making this noise. As a woman, Mother cannot
outwardly express her disbelief that the reason for these shrieking geese is some sort of mystical
source without the permission of her husband. In contrast, Yentl, the main character of Yentl the
Yeshiva Boy, is in love with learning but is forbidden to do so by Jewish law. She has chosen to

geese were shrieking. She discovered the mystery behind the shrieking geese, helped a neighbor,

too, confronts her problem. She acknowledges that [she] wasn t created for plucking feathers and

Oedipa s Search For Truth In The Crying Of Lot 49
Oedipa s search for truth is caught in a paradox: On one hand, she is (or at least believes she is) in
search of absolute meaning; on the other hand, that meaning is concentrated around herself and is
shutting her off from the world around her in a subjective circle of signification where the
communicational void she wishes to escape is filled with illusions of meaning. Oedipa s search is
fueled by a belief that it will bring to an end her encapsulation in her tower (Pynchon 31). The
complication to her journey is that all language (truth, communication, meaning, etc....) is founded
in entropy, on a waste of force that alone makes possible the fictional constitution of abstract truth.
In The Crying of Lot 49, Pynchon uses the ideas of entropy in thermodynamicsand information
theory (through Maxwell s Demon) to more fully delve into Oedipa s paradoxical search for
meaning in a world that has created, forgotten, and rediscovered it s own truth.
Thermodynamics is the study of the relationship between heat and other energies. It deals with the
changes within a system if the energy distribution in that system is unbalanced. Thermodynamic
entropy is the measure of this chaos in the universe. In beginning of The Crying of Lot 49,
Oedipa Maas realizes that she exists within the confinement of [a] tower, (11) that is similar to a
closed system. Entropy thrives in closed systems; therefore, if she does not open her system she is
doomed to slow degradation, till she is nothing

Benefits Of Spinach Cells
The goal of this project to use detergents and surfactants to decellularize spinach leaves, leaving
just the extracellular matrix. In addition, the secondary goal is to culture rat cardiac cells and use
the extracellular matrix as a three dimensional scaffolds for tissue growth. Tissue Engineering As
stated by Castells Sala et al. (2013) tissue Engineering is a [developing] scientific field focused on
the development substitutes for tissues by controlling biological, biophysical and/or biomechanical
parameters in the laboratory. The general principles of tissue engineering involve combining living
cells with a natural/ synthetic support or scaffold to build a three dimensional living construct.

(Chan Leong, 2008). Biocompatibility is also an important factor. The material should be
biologically compatible with the host tissue so it does not cause an immune or inflammatory
response. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). While the cells grow on the scaffold they
generate a matrix around themselves, the scaffold provides structure and is eventually absorbed by
the body; leaving the newly formed tissue to manage mechanical support. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak
Kupiec, 2012). The scaffold needs to be absorbed by the surrounding tissue at a rate compatible with
the rate of tissue growth, so the new tissue can function independently and avoid the need for
surgical removal. Lastly, to ensure functionality, the mechanical properties of the Scaffold should
compatible with the tissue type. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012; Chan Leong, 2008).
Designing scaffolds with the mechanical and physical properties appropriate for the tissue type,
specifically for the vascular system, is the most challenging part of tissue engineering. (Pluta,
Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). No tissue can survive without being able to move and diffuse
nutrients, oxygen, and waste product...So vasculturation, the process of making something
vascular, is key to ensuring the long term survival and function of engineered tissue... The tissue

The Impact Of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle s Lasting Impact
Over the years, some of the most recognized characters have become more present in movies and
television. These characters date back decades, but their influence still remain in the modern era.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle changed the entirety of a genre with the creation of a mysterious, and
cunning character, which seems to be the only thing of his that is remembered regardless of the
numerous works of literature he created.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle became very successful despite his life at home, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 22, 1859. Conan Doyle was educated at home...Until he

Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn lived a strategic lifestyle in the English court of Henry VIII. As a pawn of her family,
she went from a small girl in the French court to the queen. Henry had an obsession with Anne and
would stop at nothing until they were together causing many long term affects on England. Many
people had different contrasting views of Anne Boleyn; on one hand she was viewed as a jezebel or
concubine by the Catholics but at the same time she was viewed as a saintly queen by protestant
writers. Both these conflicting portraits of Anne Boleyn have a degree of truth but at the same time
are inaccurate. Through both of these characters Anne Boleyn s relationship with Henry VIII

Egocentric Perspective Analysis
Many People throughout their lives never try to understand or change how they see the world.
Although this was true for me, I made a change to try and see others viewpoints. It was easily
one of the most difficult introspective change I have ever done, mostly because I only saw things
as black and white. This was probably due to my inexperience of others/ignorance and because I
was too stubborn to believe that anyone other than me was right. But it wasn t these factors or
thoughts alone that determined how I was, or am to be. The other factors were simply me being
kind of sheltered and not knowing about others situations. The main factors that led me to

lesson I learned because of sports. Remember me telling you about making friends from sports,
well those friends would tell me about their home life, or difficulties they had. The stuff they
told me about their lives was incomprehensible to me, mainly their father/family problems

good family, and a house to live in. But the effect their life stories had on me was profound, I
realized everyone s situations are different, and I realized I should try to understand others more
and not judge them on outside appearances. Plus I made some of my greatest friends doing these

Interpretation: By this data, we can see that the Giraffe water is more turbid than the Amazon
Lake Water, and probably because the water had a good amount of organic matter, like the
Giraffes excrement or it can contain urine too. The Amazon Lake Water is regular in Turbidity,
probably because of the amount of organisms live in it and how they interact with it. Even
because of the color of the lake, it can determine that it is kind of turbid. But the levels of
dissolved oxygen on the lake is greater than the giraffe water, since the lake has a population of
organisms and it probably has plankton and algae and since the organisms use the oxygen in it. VI.

Architecture Is A Concept That Was First Defined By Victor...
Bioclimatic architecture is a concept that was first defined by Victor Olgyay in 1963 (Bondars
2013, 84) and describes the relationship between humans, the climate and the architectural design of
a structure. Bioclimatic design analyses the relationship between a favourable microclimate inside a
structure that is in synergy with the surrounding macroclimate and thus requires minimal
mechanical heating or cooling to achieve the microclimate for habitation (Larasati and Mochtar
2013, 823).
Since the publication of Olgyay s findings in the book Design with Climate: Bioclimatic Approach
to Architectural Regionalism (1963) , design principles of bioclimatic architecture have become
extensively discussed. However, the practical application of ... Show more content on

Architects are now called upon to create designs that provide social change, improve the health of a
building s inhabitants, increase equality and in general improve social life (Dutton and Mann 1996
in Woodward 2007, 3). Bioclimatic design falls within this brief as it priviledges designs that are at
one with the surrounding climate and produce a harmonious microclimate for the inhabitants, thus
improving health and providing social change. However, until recently technical aspects of
producing bioclimatic designs were ceded to specialist trained engineers in the field of Bioclimatics
(Altomonte 2009, 13). Thus, keeping architectural education focused on its long held traditions of
culture, emotion and improving the landscape. This ensures that there is a continued gap between
the traditional education of new architects and the education of principles of bioclimatic design.
Which makes it difficult for architects to incorporate bioclimatic principles into their final designs.
Njuguna (1997, 356) further confirming this, finding that 95% of students believed that their
education did not prepare them for a climate responsive design. Citing that the conventional
approach to their architectural education was at fault. The conventional educational approach to
architecture, which sees components such as bioclimatics taught in parallel or even in competition
to traditional architecture simply does not provide an adequate preperation for

Middle Ages Music
Music in the Middle Ages
The Middle Ages were a time of hardship and war. All people ever did was train, go into battle
and die. There were those delicate moments, though, where music was allowed to shine and bring
light to a dark world. Though music wasn t very prominent in the Dark Ages, it still played a part
in the world. There wasn t a place or event where you wouldn t hear a bit of music once in awhile.
Different cultures such as Armenia, Islam and the western part of the of Europe had their own
kinds of music. Some people liked the idea of music and others considered it a sinful hobby.
Music was even used during tournaments, jousts, and banquets. Most people were concerned with
surviving, but people did take a chance to listen to music every once in awhile. Music was
prominent in many different parts of the world. Armenia is one such place. People don t really have
any information about their type of music except that they mostly sang folk songs. Liturgical chants
were also a type of melody that was heard in Armenia culture. Liturgical chants are chants that are
centered around the church. Armenia took elements of liturgical chants, secular music of that day,
Hebrew liturgy, and pre Christian melodies and created a kind of music that was very special to
them. Not much is known about Islamic music during this period other than the fact it began to
flourish during the Middle Ages. The people of Islamic religion began to take charge and thus

Culturespecific care is a vital skill to the modern nurse, as the United States continues to consist of
many immigrants who have become assimilated into one culture. I interviewed three families of

But this all is possible only when you get an access to recognize which user has exactly left your

The most basic way to check who has unfollowed you is to manually check profiles of each user

and obviously could make anybody insane.
That s why you have to take assistance from an external source.
But why Insta does not Provide any notifications to its users for the same? Though, Insta has not

Research Paper On Quantum Entanglement
Quantum Entanglement Quantum entanglement, also known as spooky action at a distance as
first referred to by Einstein, is a phenomenon which occurs when two or more particles interact in
such a way that their physical states can be described as one whole system rather than as each
particle separately. The particles spin in opposite directions to each other and, no matter how far
away each particle is from the other, if one particle changes its spin the other particle/s will
instantaneously change their spin too in the exact opposite direction. You can, therefore, determine
the physical state of each particle just by examining the state of one particle. History: In 1935,

Testing the Difference Between the Respondents Demographic...
Testing the difference between the respondents demographic groups As mentioned in chapter 4:
table 4 3, there was a very different between the number of respondents within some demographic
groups, e.g. the gender groups compromised 185 males and 25 females and similarly, the academic
background groups compromised 3 high school, 185 graduate and 85 postgraduate holders.
Therefore, generalising the results of testing the difference between the means of these groups may
be invalid and meaningfulness. However, it could give general indicators about the opinion of each
group regarding the performing the SECI and innovation processes within the Egyptian banks.
In this term, there are two methods to test the difference means between groups ... Show more

In the other hand, the One way ANOVA test is used to test whether three or more groups means
are different. This test is suitable for testing the means difference between the years of experience
groups (≤ 5, 6 10, 11 15, 16 20 and 20yrs), between the academic background groups (high
school, graduate and postgraduate) and between the job title groups (junior, senior, head of
department, auditor, vice manager and manager)
Independent t test results
The t test can be used to test whether two groups are different. The independent t test is used when
there are two experimental conditions (e.g. male and female or public and private banks) and
different participates have been used in each condition (e.g. SECI and innovation processes).
Independent t test table yielded by PASW normally mentions two rows for the test statistics: one
row is labelled Equal variance assumed, while the other is labelled Equal variances not assumed.
Which row is considered is based on the significant of Levene s test for Equality of Variances.
Therefore, if the Levene s test is significant, the Equal variances not assumed row will be used for

Damien Hirst s The On The Mind Of Someone Living
The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living is a piece that was created
by the artist Damien Hirst in the year 1992. In summary, it is a tiger shark that is preserved in a
formaldehyde solution in a case of glass and steel. The case is separated into three parts, which
most likely is because Hirst did not want the viewer to see and observe the piece as one whole
dead shark. It is thought that this steel casing breaks the continuity of the shark and therefore,
becomes less connectable as something familiar to the viewer. This shark is considered one of
the most shocking pieces of American art. This is because this shark, for many people, seems to
be a direct representation of death and is quite disturbing, and somewhat scary to look at, whether
it be in person or in real life. Therefore, the belief stands that this piece is more a form of science
than a form of art. The artist of the piece is Damien Hirst. Hirst is an English artist who was born in
Bristol and moved to London when he was 19 years old. Hirst was raised in a Catholic
household, and even had an early religious educational childhood. Later in his life, he pulls from
this religious education as inspiration for his works. He got his Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts
from Goldsmiths College in 1989, which he later used to practice sculpture, painting, and drawing.
After graduating, Hirst and his peers became part of a group called the Young British Artists, and

that Jesusshared in the Sermon on the Mount. They use a 12 step program model using Jesus
Christ as their focus and not psychological theory. There are over 20,000 programs in churches
around the world. The programs have also had great success being used in the prison system.
Since the beginning of these programs, many people have found peace and healing from their
issues, hurts, and habits. The meeting began with group leader (who works at NEFSH, and with

grandparents were allowed to sit in on this part of the meeting as well. He also introduced us to
the group since we were new faces to the church. He explained why we were there and that no

Essay on How Britain Changed Between 1750 and 1900
Work
Britain in 1750 In 1750 there were lots of agricultural jobs, men usually worked on farms (were
laborers) doing physical jobs like:
Looking after the animals
Being a milkman
Harvesting crops
Sowing broadcast
Dibbling
Threshing
Breaking stones
The women did a lot more in the domestic system they would usually stay at home and:
Cook food
Wash clothes
Sew and make clothes
They were very involved textiles and the making of cloth, they would spin the wool at home using
hand looms or spinning wheels then the men would weave it into cloth. This was a good way to
suplement the men s income as farmers.
There were also a few craft based jobs in 1750 such as cobblers or blacksmiths, and a few people ...

The piston then moved down.
The see saw beam was moved up and down by the movement of the piston (a vertical movement).
The beam attached to the see saw and the wheel by a set of cogs can move.
The cogs turn the vertical movement of the beam into a horizontal movement.
The steam engine can work machines that need vertical and horizontal movement.
James Watt had to entrepreneurs to help him with his steam engine invention John Roebuck was his
first but he went bankrupt. Matthew Boulton took over from John and formed a great partnership
with James Watt called Boulton and Watt, which lasted nearly 25 years. In 1800 Richard Trevithick
invented a high pressure steam engine these engines were smaller and lighter than the previous
atmospheric engines because they didn t use a condenser and had smaller cylinders.
Steam engines were used as transport engines in trains (locomotives) and canals. This was so it
would be easier and faster to transport goods and people. Steam engines were used in factories in
machines. They were used in the textile industry to power looms and spinning machines. Coal
powered steam engines which were needed to make iron. Iron improved, fixed and made tools and
machines and was also used to build bridges and ships.

Industrial Conflict
Which theories or theories of industrial conflict, if any, can best explain the state of industrial
conflict in Singapore? Justify your answer. This essay is based on the assumption that Singapore s
industrial relations tend to be pluralistic in nature. The pluralistic approach to employment relations
as defined by Bray, Waring and Cooper (2011) is that the employment relationship contains a
potential to conflict. Hence, the question is the extent of industrial conflict in Singapore and which
theories can support this. Industrial conflict is defined by Kornhauser et al (1954) as the total range
of behaviours and attitudes that express opposition and divergent orientations between industrial
owners and managers, on the one hand,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It includes information of the various Acts related to employment. Thus, workers are aware of
their rights as rules and regulations are carefully spelled out into by Singapore, Ministry of
Manpower 2012. This includes the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, Trade Union Act
seen in the appendix (Appendix pg2). This comprehensiveness and accessibility of dispute
procedures makes sure that workers understand their rights which lead to efficiency in times
when workplace conflict does arise. Yet, it is also because of such strict rules and regulations in
Singapore that lead to the presence of covert conflict in Singapore. The theory that relates to the
extent of covert conflict in Singapore is the Organisational Justice Theory. One antecedent to
perceptions of organizational justice is the extent to which employees feel that they are involved
in decision making or other organizational procedures. Higher levels of justice are perceived when
employees feel that they have input in processes than when employees do not perceive that they
have the opportunity to participate (Greenberg Folger, 1983; Bies Shapiro, 1988). The culture in
Singapore is one whereby respect to authority is of great importance, as such employees would not
dare to voice out their opinions so, there is minimal involvement in the decision making process. To

Optimism Critical Thinking Essay
The relationship of optimism with psychological well being is a well researched topic. Maintaining
an optimistic view on life has been shown to reduce depression. The literature on optimism also
provides information on ways to measure optimism and distinguishes between the different
theoretical constructs used to define optimism. Throughout this review, these topics, as well as
other important issues related to optimism will be discussed in great detail. It is hoped that by
reading this review, the reader will become appreciative of the powerful benefits of maintaining a
positive outlook on life.Optimism is defined as the belief that upcoming occurrences will have
positive results. Optimism has been connected to numerous facets of mental health in adults (Lai,
1995; Schweizer, Beck Seyffer, Schneider, 1999). The study of optimism derives... Show more

Those that will be covered in this overview consist of quality of life, coping styles, unhappiness,
and faith in a fair world. Prior investigation has established that a perceived quality of life is
swayed by an individual s level of optimism. Other aspects, such as coping styles and social
connections have been positively correlated with a high quality of life. This is a very subjective
phrase and has been demarcated in many ways. One meaning states that quality of life is centered
on the personal assessment of one s possessions and contentment with these possessions (Harju
Bolen, 1998).
Harju and Bolen (1998) investigated the influence of optimism on quality of life of university
undergraduates by evaluating three sets of optimists (low, moderate, and high) The subjects, 204
pupils carried out the following measures: the Life Orientation Test Revised (LOT R), the Brief
Cope, which assesses numerous coping methods, and a quality of life assessment created by the
scientists that was established on previous

Virginia Tech Personal Statement
Virginia Tech has been the home for both my brothers through their mechanical engineer degree
and their transformation into responsible and hardworking young adults. I am the third of my
family to attend Virginia Tech and even before I was accepted the campus already felt like a
second home to me. I know the campus extremely well due to the many visits made and the rural
location is quite calming and therapeutic when overwhelmed with stress. The distance from my
home puts my mind at ease due to the fact that I always have an opportunity to return home if any
major problems arise at home. The entire environment given to me by attending Virginia Tech

another short term goal, which is to understand more about large or livestock animals. The only
exposures I have been able to experience to animals are small animals at the local vet. I have
worked with large animals sparsely and have not had the best experience. As of now I plan to

Everyday Use Of Electrons In Atoms
Electrons in Atoms
Electrons are the negatively charged particles that can be found in the atom. Electrons will be
located around clouds that surround the nucleus of an atom. All Together the atom creates a
negative charge that will make sure that it balances the positive charge of the protons in the atomic
nucleus. These clouds are at a certain distance from the nucleus which is properly put into the
shells. Due to the fact that electrons move so quickly it is impossible to see where they are at
certain point in time. The overall shape of the shells change depending on how many electrons an
element contains. The higher the atomic number the more higher the shells plus an electron of an
atom will have. The main in electrons is the way that all the elements rely on each other without
the negative charge is the positive will not be good in any use. The electrons are an everyday use
to use because of the fact of electricity. The small particles flows through wires and circuits that
create currents of electricity. Electrons flow from negative charged parts to the positive charged.
The negative charge part of a circuit will have extra electrons, meanwhile the positive charge will
want more electrons. When electrons move throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Federal Government Should Have Greater Authority On...
This paper will discuss the prevailing Canadian debate of whether the federal government should
have greater authority on administering health care. Essentially, Canada s health care program
referred to as Medicare, is administered by the provinces while regulated by the federal government
through the Canada Health Actof 1984. One side of the debate, using the political theory of
pluralism, argues against federal leadership and instead emphasizes for provincial authority on
matters of health care since Canadais inherently composed of individuals with differing interests
and values. Through a decentralized framework, each province will be able to implement efficient
health services that will meet the demands of its citizens. Their... Show more content on

The political elites also acknowledged that it would be in their best interests to respond to group
demands. Barker s second contention states that provinces can provide the best quality health care
according to their demographics and socioeconomic factors. For example, Saskatchewan primarily
utilizes its federal grants for a community based approach of providing health care such
rehabilitation services while Ontario primarily invests in effective hospital care. Through a
pluralist approach, Barker argues that various interest groups exist that want to play a role in the
decision making of national programs to meet their own needs and therefore diversities can be best
accommodated when provinces lead social programs.
However, an institutionalist approach can critique the pluralist contentions made by Barker.
Regarding his legal contention, it can be argued that the distribution of power on health care
depicted in the constitution is outdated since there were vast divisions between English and French
physicians as well as differing health and religious practices during the 1800s. Due to the divisions,
it was resolved that the provinces would administer public policies regarding

The First Programmable Computer Ever Created
The first programmable computer ever created, ENIAC made in 1946 sparked a promising
advancement in technology. Each passing generation brought a new groundbreaking advancement
in computer technology. And with each advancement, the previous generation quickly became
obsolete. A computer made in 1985 would almost certainly be inferior to a computermade the next
year. But a computer made in 2010 can still be widely used and integrated into 2016 computing.
This leads me to believe that improvements in computers are slowing down and furthermore, that
computer technology is plateauing.
Arguably the most important creation would be the integrated circuit which allowed cpus and the
circuit board to pack more power into a smaller design. But after this technology was created,
there was a noticeable lack of any more groundbreaking advancements. Each technology
generation alters circuit physics and requires new computer aided design software. (Markov).
Markov makes a good point here. He says that for every stone we pass in technology, circuit
physics advances or changes and we must account for it. When this happens, we must also change
the means in which we manufacture, typically with computer design software. Take for example
when the integrated circuit was created, we could not use obsolete technology in our chips and
electronics, Small scale integration (SSI) of the integrated circuit began in 1964, seeing their first
use in early aerospace projects. The next level of

the novel, Boo Radley is addressed. Rumors have floated around, referring to Boo as a
malevolent phantom while accusing him of being guilty of any stealthy small crimes that were
committed in Maycomb. When Scout was younger she believed in these rumors, and always felt
on edge when close to the Radley Place. Despite this, Scout, her brother Jem, and her friend Dill

You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... until you

The Ethical Treatment of Prisoners Essay
A Utilitarian View of Prison Labor Behavioral Impact of Prisoners
INTRODUCTION
The ethical theory of utilitarianism and the perspective on relativism, of prison labor along with the
relativism on criminal behavior of individuals incarcerated are two issues that need to be addressed.
Does the utilitarianism of prisoner s right laws actually protect them? Or are the unethical actions of
the international and states right laws exploiting the prison labor? Unethical procedures that impact
incarcerated individuals and correctional staff, the relativism of respect as people and not just
prisoner s; the safety of all inmates and correctional staff, are all issues worth continuous reflection.

Using their labor as means for profit is not ethically correct. I m not saying there is an easy
answer; it involves many facets of virtues well within the prison system and the individuals
themselves. Yet the utilitarian view of prison labor should not be a market of how many can
monopolize these prisoners for their own selfish profit and be a continuum of globalization.
Both private operation of prisons and the private use of prisoners labor, they are part of a broader
increase in the private subdivision involvement in the direct operation of correction facilities. This
is related in the process of globalization. In respect for a better understanding of the impact of
globalization and the capabilities of nation states to support their international legal obligations to
protect primary human rights. While private involvement running prisons and exploitation of
prisoners labor does contribute to globalization it has been a rule rather than an exception for some
time. Beginning in the early 1930s Western states have dominated criminal justice purposes.
(Fenwick, C. 2005). In addition the exploitation of prisoner s labor has been a continuing issue.
Enforcement of prison labor by the state and the utilitarianism of international human rights law

  • 4. Is Us Military Becoming Outdated In a 2015 article, Is U.S. military becoming outdated? written by Stuart Bradin, Keenan Yoho, and Meaghan Keeler Pettigrew, the authors argued that despite the U.S. military maintaining a position of global dominance without peer during conventional operations, it is not the ideal force against current and future threats. The authors claim that there are several negative factors arising due to the past sixteen years of war against several state and non state elements, inferior cultural differences of government bureaucracycompared to commercial firms, and a misallocation of defense spending that leaves the US militarywaging war inefficiently while simultaneously losing technological dominance against current and future threats.... Night vision devices, increasingly cheap and prolific, has also reduced US military dominance, regressing US combat power back to the days of the Vietnam Conflict where the Viet Cong owned the night. Social media, stable and available to all, also allows the enemy advanced warning of US activities by way of not only their own organic capacity but that of neutral or unknowing elements who just want to be the first to identify something new and exciting to anyone willing to listen or watch. The authors also correctly identified the inferior culture of the US bureaucracy in comparison to more agile commercial firms. While performing relatively slowly, rigidly, and inefficiently, the bureaucracy would continue as normal until it finds itself outmaneuvered and outgunned by more agile threats. Moreover, within the US bureaucracy, the few leaders who are capable of revolutionary thinking are often marginalized and buried by the more conservative thinkers. Successful commercial firms, on the other hand, have proven to perform more quickly and efficiently through the correct allocation of resources. This can be seen in the most successful firms to include Apple, Google, and Amazon with a much more streamlined and less risk averse as well as profitable cultures. • 5. Violence as a Social Problem Essay Violence is a social problem that increases over the years. Violence is not so much shown in magazines and books as it is on television and the media. This does not mean that violence on television is the only source for aggressive or violent behavior, but it is a significant contributor. Children can also pick up violencefrom a parent or guardian at an early age. Peers are important in a child s life. It has been psychologically proven that males are more aggressive than females. Therefore, if a child s peers are being aggressive, their actions tend to be imitated. American children watch an average of three to four hours of television daily, which can be a powerful influence in developing value systems and shaping behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A child s peers mean a lot to their attitude whether one wants to believe it or not. It blends in with their need to fit in. Popularity is what one hopes and dreams for during their teenage years. Therefore, children try to duplicate others actions. This factor may tend to lead to racial or sexual stereotyping consequently making the child believe that anyone different from these characteristics should be punished. This takes the child into the stage of what type of music to listen to as spoken about before. Everyday we are all caught in a losing battle, the challenge of our society to preserve safety for children and protect them from violence and guns. The facts are that violence is everywhere, it is impossible to ignore them. It even seems as though no one recognized this as their problem or responsibility. Our deteriorating sense of community is everyone s problem. It hs been proven that more teenage boys die from gunfire that from car accidents. These gunshot wounds are now a leading cause of death for teenage boys. In conclusion, we as a society should realize that it s never too young to learn. We all picked up certain characteristics from someone. To offset peer pressure among friends and classmates, parents should contact other parents and agree to enforce similar rules about what their children should watch, play with or stay around. If parents have serious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Abolishing The Death Penalty The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, is a practice done by governments where a person is put to death for breaking certain laws. The death penalty has been used since ancient times as a way to punish lawbreakers and deter others from committing the same crime. As modern times approached, however, there have been large debates within countries as to whether or not they should continue using the death penaltyor completely abolish the practice. People all over the world argue about if it is a good way to punish to terrible criminals and stops others from committing horrible crimes, or if it is a practice that can cause innocent people to wrongly be sentenced to death and enforces the prejudiced police system. As of December 2017,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the phrase worst of the worst does not have a set definition and people s opinions on what is evil vary greatly from person to person. One article about the morality of capital punishment expresses, Depending on how you think about death...you might oppose the death penalty on the grounds that it is disproportionately harsh perhaps you think that no matter what someone has done, she does not deserve to die for it, (Howard). Both sides are trying to argue that their stance is morally just because everyone has a different set of morals, so it is not best to use morals as the basis for their discussions. Additionally, states that use the death penalty do not have strict regulations on what the worst of the worst really is, which leads to more changes in what types of crimes warrant the death penalty, which then can lead to more executions. For example, Arizona s history with the death penalty shows how our lack of understanding of what types of people should be sentenced to death can lead to the practice being applied arbitrarily. In 1973, Arizona adopted a law which states that prosecutors had to prove that a criminal did one of six aggravating factors do warrant them being sentenced to death. Since then though, Arizona has more than doubled their number of factors to fourteen (Tribe). This is a problem known as aggravator creep and it is where if a change or exception is made, more and more will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Economic Effectiveness And Impact Of The Bank The Export Import Bank of the United States just lapsed for the first time in over 80 years on June 30, 2015. The primary activity of the Export Import Bank is to provide export subsidies to buyers and sellers of U.S. exports. Its ultimate goal is to shift global market share to U.S. based corporations and away from corporations headquartered in other countries so as to boost the U.S. economy on the global scale. The purpose of this paper is to determine the economic effectiveness and impact of the Bank and to discuss the implications for international, national and local economies should the Bank fail to be reauthorized by Congress and permanently expire. Background Objectives Established in 1934 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as a part of his New Deal stimulus package, the Export Import (Ex Im) Bank of the United States, a small federal government agency, is the official Export Credit Authority (ECA) for the United States. Today, the Bank is responsible for assistance in financing the export of U.S. goods and services to international markets. Ex Im s mission statement says that its activities help to maintain and create U.S. jobs, contributing to a stronger national economy. Driven by market demand, the Bank seeks to provide financing for foreign export projects when the private sector is unwilling or unable to do so typically in the case of U.S. small and medium sized businesses, which reportedly account for nearly 85 percent of Ex Im s transactions. ... Urea is a little bit higher than from its melting point range of 132В°C 133В°C and trans cinnamic acid is in its melting point range of 132В°C 135В°C. They are both pure compounds because they stayed relatively close to their melting point ranges. The 50/50 mixture has a lower melting point and a broader melting point range because each compound acts as an impurity in the other. The results in Table 2 from part 2 of the experiment have higher melting points than their supposed melting point range. The samples went from a powdery white to a clear liquid. The unknown 8 compound was guessed to be maleic acid since its melting point was in the range 137В°C 140В°C. For the final trial, however, both unknown 8 and maleic acid had higher melting points out of the range and the 50/50 mixture melted first. Since 13,000 B.C. medicine has been a thriving area of study. Even more specifically than that, the heart has been a thriving area of study. As a result of the heart being the organ that keeps one alive, numerous physicians from the past and the present strived to decipher the heart. Since the heart has yet to be completely figured out, cardiology proves to be a promising career in the future. In the beginning of time, herbalism was the first known form of medicine. This led to cardiology as a medicine because it helped take down the rhythms of a heart to make sure that one s heart was just the right speed. (Occupational Outlook Handbook) In 1912, James Herrick took a huge step in the right direction when he discovered how heart disease occurs. From his research, he came up with the idea of hardening of the arteries and its contributions to affecting the heart. He realized that heart diseases occur when arteries aren t functioning correctly. Therefore, if arteries were hardening blood flow couldn t flow normally and the heart would loose blood and oxygen resulting in a diseased heart. (History of Medicine) In 1938, Robert E. With this, many other heart surgeries were able to be performed. In 1951, Charles Hufnagel developed a plastic valve to fix an aortic valve. Your approach and style can make the different between a make or break deal. If attaining an agreement in a negotiation is based on collaboration and collaboration is based on trust, then to be an effective negotiator you need to spawn trust between yourself and the other party. This is evident in Isaac Bashevis Singer s short stories Why the Geese Shrieked and Yentl the Yeshiva Boy . Although The Mother, Yentl, and Hadass, the female characters of these stories, live in different places during different times, they all face challenges of gender. The situations that these characters encounter are quite different, at least on the outside. Mother is a rationalist and the wife of a mystic rabbi. She suggests that there must be a logical explanation for this sound because slaughtered geese don t shriek but her husband thinks there must be some supernatural explanation as to why they are making this noise. As a woman, Mother cannot outwardly express her disbelief that the reason for these shrieking geese is some sort of mystical source without the permission of her husband. Oedipa s Search For Truth In The Crying Of Lot 49 Oedipa s search for truth is caught in a paradox: On one hand, she is (or at least believes she is) in search of absolute meaning; on the other hand, that meaning is concentrated around herself and is shutting her off from the world around her in a subjective circle of signification where the communicational void she wishes to escape is filled with illusions of meaning. Oedipa s search is fueled by a belief that it will bring to an end her encapsulation in her tower (Pynchon 31). The complication to her journey is that all language (truth, communication, meaning, etc....) is founded in entropy, on a waste of force that alone makes possible the fictional constitution of abstract truth. In The Crying of Lot 49, Pynchon uses the ideas of entropy in thermodynamicsand information theory (through Maxwell s Demon) to more fully delve into Oedipa s paradoxical search for meaning in a world that has created, forgotten, and rediscovered it s own truth. Thermodynamics is the study of the relationship between heat and other energies. It deals with the changes within a system if the energy distribution in that system is unbalanced. Thermodynamic entropy is the measure of this chaos in the universe. In beginning of The Crying of Lot 49, Oedipa Maas realizes that she exists within the confinement of [a] tower, (11) that is similar to a closed system. (2013) tissue Engineering is a [developing] scientific field focused on the development substitutes for tissues by controlling biological, biophysical and/or biomechanical parameters in the laboratory. The material should be biologically compatible with the host tissue so it does not cause an immune or inflammatory response. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). While the cells grow on the scaffold they generate a matrix around themselves, the scaffold provides structure and is eventually absorbed by the body; leaving the newly formed tissue to manage mechanical support. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012). The scaffold needs to be absorbed by the surrounding tissue at a rate compatible with the rate of tissue growth, so the new tissue can function independently and avoid the need for surgical removal. Lastly, to ensure functionality, the mechanical properties of the Scaffold should compatible with the tissue type. (Pluta, Malina, Sobczak Kupiec, 2012; Chan Leong, 2008). Designing scaffolds with the mechanical and physical properties appropriate for the tissue type, specifically for the vascular system, is the most challenging part of tissue engineering. Bioclimatic architecture is a concept that was first defined by Victor Olgyay in 1963 (Bondars 2013, 84) and describes the relationship between humans, the climate and the architectural design of a structure. Bioclimatic design analyses the relationship between a favourable microclimate inside a structure that is in synergy with the surrounding macroclimate and thus requires minimal mechanical heating or cooling to achieve the microclimate for habitation (Larasati and Mochtar 2013, 823). Architects are now called upon to create designs that provide social change, improve the health of a building s inhabitants, increase equality and in general improve social life (Dutton and Mann 1996 in Woodward 2007, 3). Bioclimatic design falls within this brief as it priviledges designs that are at one with the surrounding climate and produce a harmonious microclimate for the inhabitants, thus improving health and providing social change. However, until recently technical aspects of producing bioclimatic designs were ceded to specialist trained engineers in the field of Bioclimatics (Altomonte 2009, 13). Thus, keeping architectural education focused on its long held traditions of culture, emotion and improving the landscape. This ensures that there is a continued gap between the traditional education of new architects and the education of principles of bioclimatic design. Which makes it difficult for architects to incorporate bioclimatic principles into their final designs. Njuguna (1997, 356) further confirming this, finding that 95% of students believed that their education did not prepare them for a climate responsive design. Citing that the conventional approach to their architectural education was at fault. In summary, it is a tiger shark that is preserved in a formaldehyde solution in a case of glass and steel. The case is separated into three parts, which most likely is because Hirst did not want the viewer to see and observe the piece as one whole dead shark. It is thought that this steel casing breaks the continuity of the shark and therefore, becomes less connectable as something familiar to the viewer. This shark is considered one of the most shocking pieces of American art. This is because this shark, for many people, seems to be a direct representation of death and is quite disturbing, and somewhat scary to look at, whether it be in person or in real life. • 42. A Community Support Group Meeting At New Horizon Church Of... On Friday, June 5th, Megan Crews and I attended a community support group meeting at New Horizon Church of Christ. This meeting was a for teens and young adults that were experiencing issues of emotional abuse, substance abuse, sexual abuse, depression, co dependency, and anything else that was causing them struggles. The Landing (what this group is called), is a daughter program of Celebrate Recovery, which has been helping people in different communities for 20 years. This collection of groups is faith based and helps the whole family, not just the individual experiencing the problem. It is set up as a fifty two week program, based on principles that Jesusshared in the Sermon on the Mount. They use a 12 step program model using Jesus Christ as their focus and not psychological theory. There are over 20,000 programs in churches around the world. The programs have also had great success being used in the prison system. Since the beginning of these programs, many people have found peace and healing from their issues, hurts, and habits. The meeting began with group leader (who works at NEFSH, and with DCF), had all the members join him in the circle of chairs in the fellowship hall. Parents and grandparents were allowed to sit in on this part of the meeting as well. He also introduced us to the group since we were new faces to the church. He explained why we were there and that no names or personal information would be shared in our paper, and that we were just observing, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on How Britain Changed Between 1750 and 1900 Work Britain in 1750 In 1750 there were lots of agricultural jobs, men usually worked on farms (were laborers) doing physical jobs like: Looking after the animals Being a milkman Harvesting crops Sowing broadcast Dibbling Threshing Breaking stones The women did a lot more in the domestic system they would usually stay at home and: Cook food Wash clothes Sew and make clothes They were very involved textiles and the making of cloth, they would spin the wool at home using hand looms or spinning wheels then the men would weave it into cloth. This was a good way to suplement the men s income as farmers. There were also a few craft based jobs in 1750 such as cobblers or blacksmiths, and a few people ... The beam attached to the see saw and the wheel by a set of cogs can move. The cogs turn the vertical movement of the beam into a horizontal movement. The steam engine can work machines that need vertical and horizontal movement. James Watt had to entrepreneurs to help him with his steam engine invention John Roebuck was his first but he went bankrupt. Matthew Boulton took over from John and formed a great partnership with James Watt called Boulton and Watt, which lasted nearly 25 years. In 1800 Richard Trevithick invented a high pressure steam engine these engines were smaller and lighter than the previous atmospheric engines because they didn t use a condenser and had smaller cylinders. Steam engines were used as transport engines in trains (locomotives) and canals. This was so it would be easier and faster to transport goods and people. Steam engines were used in factories in machines. They were used in the textile industry to power looms and spinning machines. Coal powered steam engines which were needed to make iron. Iron improved, fixed and made tools and machines and was also used to build bridges and ships. Transport Britain in 1750 In 1750 the main sources of transport were by road or sea. The roads were dirt

  • 45. Industrial Conflict Which theories or theories of industrial conflict, if any, can best explain the state of industrial conflict in Singapore? Justify your answer. This essay is based on the assumption that Singapore s industrial relations tend to be pluralistic in nature. The pluralistic approach to employment relations as defined by Bray, Waring and Cooper (2011) is that the employment relationship contains a potential to conflict. Hence, the question is the extent of industrial conflict in Singapore and which theories can support this. Industrial conflict is defined by Kornhauser et al (1954) as the total range of behaviours and attitudes that express opposition and divergent orientations between industrial owners and managers, on the one hand,... Thus, workers are aware of their rights as rules and regulations are carefully spelled out into by Singapore, Ministry of Manpower 2012. This includes the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, Trade Union Act seen in the appendix (Appendix pg2). This comprehensiveness and accessibility of dispute procedures makes sure that workers understand their rights which lead to efficiency in times when workplace conflict does arise. Yet, it is also because of such strict rules and regulations in Singapore that lead to the presence of covert conflict in Singapore. The theory that relates to the extent of covert conflict in Singapore is the Organisational Justice Theory. One antecedent to perceptions of organizational justice is the extent to which employees feel that they are involved in decision making or other organizational procedures. Higher levels of justice are perceived when employees feel that they have input in processes than when employees do not perceive that they have the opportunity to participate (Greenberg Folger, 1983; Bies Shapiro, 1988). The culture in Singapore is one whereby respect to authority is of great importance, as such employees would not dare to voice out their opinions so, there is minimal involvement in the decision making process. • 46. Optimism Critical Thinking Essay The relationship of optimism with psychological well being is a well researched topic. Maintaining an optimistic view on life has been shown to reduce depression. The literature on optimism also provides information on ways to measure optimism and distinguishes between the different theoretical constructs used to define optimism. Throughout this review, these topics, as well as other important issues related to optimism will be discussed in great detail. It is hoped that by reading this review, the reader will become appreciative of the powerful benefits of maintaining a positive outlook on life.Optimism is defined as the belief that upcoming occurrences will have positive results. One meaning states that quality of life is centered on the personal assessment of one s possessions and contentment with these possessions (Harju Bolen, 1998). Harju and Bolen (1998) investigated the influence of optimism on quality of life of university undergraduates by evaluating three sets of optimists (low, moderate, and high) The subjects, 204 pupils carried out the following measures: the Life Orientation Test Revised (LOT R), the Brief Cope, which assesses numerous coping methods, and a quality of life assessment created by the scientists that was established on previous ... Electrons will be located around clouds that surround the nucleus of an atom. All Together the atom creates a negative charge that will make sure that it balances the positive charge of the protons in the atomic nucleus. These clouds are at a certain distance from the nucleus which is properly put into the shells. Due to the fact that electrons move so quickly it is impossible to see where they are at certain point in time. The overall shape of the shells change depending on how many electrons an element contains. The higher the atomic number the more higher the shells plus an electron of an atom will have. The main in electrons is the way that all the elements rely on each other without the negative charge is the positive will not be good in any use. The electrons are an everyday use to use because of the fact of electricity. The small particles flows through wires and circuits that create currents of electricity. This paper will discuss the prevailing Canadian debate of whether the federal government should have greater authority on administering health care. Essentially, Canada s health care program referred to as Medicare, is administered by the provinces while regulated by the federal government through the Canada Health Actof 1984. One side of the debate, using the political theory of pluralism, argues against federal leadership and instead emphasizes for provincial authority on matters of health care since Canadais inherently composed of individuals with differing interests and values. Through a decentralized framework, each province will be able to implement efficient health services that will meet the demands of its citizens. Their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The political elites also acknowledged that it would be in their best interests to respond to group demands. Barker s second contention states that provinces can provide the best quality health care according to their demographics and socioeconomic factors. For example, Saskatchewan primarily utilizes its federal grants for a community based approach of providing health care such rehabilitation services while Ontario primarily invests in effective hospital care. Through a pluralist approach, Barker argues that various interest groups exist that want to play a role in the decision making of national programs to meet their own needs and therefore diversities can be best accommodated when provinces lead social programs. However, an institutionalist approach can critique the pluralist contentions made by Barker. Regarding his legal contention, it can be argued that the distribution of power on health care depicted in the constitution is outdated since there were vast divisions between English and French physicians as well as differing health and religious practices during the 1800s. Due to the divisions, it was resolved that the provinces would administer public policies regarding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each passing generation brought a new groundbreaking advancement in computer technology. And with each advancement, the previous generation quickly became obsolete. A computer made in 1985 would almost certainly be inferior to a computermade the next year. But a computer made in 2010 can still be widely used and integrated into 2016 computing. This leads me to believe that improvements in computers are slowing down and furthermore, that computer technology is plateauing. Arguably the most important creation would be the integrated circuit which allowed cpus and the circuit board to pack more power into a smaller design. But after this technology was created, there was a noticeable lack of any more groundbreaking advancements. Each technology generation alters circuit physics and requires new computer aided design software. (Markov). Markov makes a good point here. He says that for every stone we pass in technology, circuit physics advances or changes and we must account for it. When this happens, we must also change the means in which we manufacture, typically with computer design software. Take for example when the integrated circuit was created, we could not use obsolete technology in our chips and electronics, Small scale integration (SSI) of the integrated circuit began in 1964, seeing their first use in early aerospace projects.
