Jackson Pollock s Full Fathom Five
Jackson Pollock s painting titled Full Fathom Five reveals black and silver splatters of paint that aren t
necessarily straight. His painting includes colors such as blue, black, white and even specks of orange.
In addition, there are no figures which can be easily deciphered and the paint seems to have been
spilled all over the canvas. Thus, the painting does not display calculation or a heavy use of logic.
Instead, his creation seems to thrive off creativity and disorder. So I ask, how do we make sense of
such an unreasonable painting?
The answer can be found within the philosophical ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche introduces
to readers both the Apollonian force and the Dionysian force is his book The Birth of Tragedy. To be
specific, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under these circumstances, Jackson Pollock s painting has a sense of musicality to it that adds onto
the creative disorder. That is to say that his irrational paint splatters are almost rhythmic in the way
they were splattered onto the canvas. Friedrich Nietzsche believes that this rhythm is very significant
since it only occurs under the influence of the Dionysian force. This can be seen in the quote: The
essence of nature is now to be expressed symbolically...not the mere symbolism of the lips, face, and
speech but the whole pantomime of dancing, forcing every member into rhythmic movement, Then
the other symbolic powers suddenly press forward, particularly those of music, in rhythmics,
dynamics, and harmony (Cahn and Meskin 225). Nietzsche s quote tells us how the Dionysian force
causes a dancer to exude harmony and rhythm. As dancers under the Dionysian influence would all
dance together in unison, the paint splatters dance across the canvas in a way that makes it all come
together. For this reason, when looking at Full Fathom Five, the paint starts to resemble musical dance
rather than images or lines. However, Pollock s painting not only features motions similar to the the
art of dance. Full Fathom Five is essentially a grand mystery of indiscernible images coexisting
among one another. For example, Friedrich Nietzsche says

Independence, Famine, And Soviet Rule
INTRODUCTION:
Independence, Famine, and Soviet Rule:
At the end of World War I, Ukraine enjoyed a brief period of independence as a result of the 1917
Russian Revolution; unfortunately, this period lacked cohesive leadership as a result of competing
Ukranian factions. Ukraine ultimately joined the Soviet Union in 1922, bringing more stability to the
region. Ten years later, however, 10 million Ukrainians died as a result of the Holodomor, an
orchestrated famine by Joseph Stalin.
This was not the only incident of oppression under Stalinist rule; in 1944, Stalin deported over
230,000 Crimean Tatars and sent them to Siberia and the Urals, his reason being that the Tatars had
worked with the Nazis. Stalin then had ethnic Russians move ... Show more content on

In 2004, allegations of a rigged election circulated throughout the nation when Viktor Yanukovych of
the Party of Regions, a pro Russian party, was elected president. His opponent, Viktor Yuschenko of
the Our Ukraine Party, a more pro Western party, led mass protests (known as the Orange Revolution)
against this victory. Ultimately, Yanukovych was disposed and Yuschenko replaced him in office.
Yushchenko had also been poisoned at one point during his campaigning in an assassination attempt.
bbc?
Unfortunately, these were not Yuschenko s only setbacks. Economic issues, such as rising debt, hurt
the Ukraine, and Russia became angry as Ukraine strengthened its relationship with the European
Union. In apparent retaliation (though Russia claims this incident to be economically rather than
politically motivated), Russia cut off its supply of natural gas in 2006 for a brief period of time
because of Ukraine s use of row over prices (bbc). In the same year, changes in the constitution were
made, taking some powers from the president and instead giving them to the parliament.
In 2009, Russia again stopped supplying gas to Ukraine, this time because of unpaid bills and price
disputes, although this was resolved when the two countries signed a ten year gas transit deal. In 2010,
Yanukovych, the winner of the first 2004 election, became president. That same year, the parliament
also agreed to an extension of Russia s lease of its Black Sea fleet base in

Navajo Code Talkers
Navajo Code Talkers
National security of every country highly depends on secrecy maintainance, especially during
wartime. Secrecy is an important element of victory. However, it is important not only to code
messages but also to break enemy codes in order to gain military advantages. During the Second
World War it was very important for the United States to send and receive codes without any risk of
being deciphered. For this reason the language of American indigenous population of the Navajo was
chosen by the U.S. Marine Corps. This paper focuses on contributions made by the Navajo Code
Talkers during the Second World War. The military enemies of the United States did not manage to
break the code. One of the reasons why the Navajo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, they were sworn to secrecy and did not share the information even with their families.
Indians were admitted to the construction of the code only after the training. The initial problem was
that the Navajo language did not contain equivalents for English military terms and phrases. That is
why it was a difficult task to transfer military terminology into the Navajo language. However, it was
recognized that the code should have been both unbreakable and simple, because under combat
conditions rapid transmission and translation of messages was of high importance.Long phrases might
appear ineffective and inefficient. The Navajos decided to choose words that had direct association
with nature, birds, and common Navajo life in order to avoid perplexity (Townsend 2000, 146).
Generally, there were two methods of communication. According to Townsend (2000, 147), the first
method concerned a words for alphabet system. This method was used to code some terms that could
not easily be replaced with a specific word. It was ineffective to affix an Indian word to any random
Pacific island. According to the alphabet method, each letter of the English alphabet was replaced by
with an Indian word. For example, Tarawa Island was coded as turkey ant rabbit ant weasel ant . In
Navajo, this would be pronounced as Than zie, wol la chee, gah, wol lo chee, gloe ih, wol la chee .
Some English letters were represented by diverse terms in order to increase the

Refuge By Faris Quotes
The place gives us the strength to live . What happened on the beach that allowed the children to walk
through the door? The novel Refuge , by Jackie French, is a fictional novel based on the realities of
seeking asylum in another country. The thirteen year old protagonist, Faris, is a young boy escaping
from his country with his grandmother to seek refuge, which is contrasted with the title. The events
that occur throughout the novel helps the children to face their realities because of their romantic
relationship, development, and courage. The friendship between Mudurra and Juhi has enabled
Mudurra to go home as well as allowing one another to walk through the door as he asks if [she] will
come with [him] (pg:156). In this quote, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jamilia s perception of men changed throughout the novel due to her many encounters at the beach. At
first, Jamila had an unpleasant and bias speculation of how men acted when she first arrived, however
after meeting Faris, David, and Billy, she realised that she could now allow a man to walk in the city
of women. (pg:138) Jamila developed emotionally and mentally from a young girl who was
influenced by gender stereotypes and discrimination to a girl who was willingly able to accept men
into her own personal bubble. In addition, Faris is another person who has transformed greatly
throughout the chapter, as seen when he first came into the story with a lack of understanding about
the world and how it works. Nevertheless, as the novel progresses, he discovers many other cultures
outside of his own, through stories, foods and experiences. He becomes less stubborn and more
mature after observing and listening to people s stories. Furthermore, Faris finds a will to live while
listening to what others have gone through, their experiences, what they have learned and what they
have to say. This evolution of maturity and knowledge allows him to walk through the door and

Chivalry In The Middle Ages
Have you ever wondered how much chivalry had evolved in the past hundred of centuries? According
to Weiss, chivalry is a beautiful fiction apotheosized version of oneself . That means for oneself to be
on their best behavior and be well mannered. They must have outstanding manners and to have respect
for others. Chivalry had changed so much in the past hundred of centuries. The definition of chivalry
in the Middle Ages is very similar to our modern day s definition, but they also have their differences.
Chivalry had changed so much from the Middle Ages to now, the modern day. It affected men and
women differently, and it changed a lot in the past centuries. The concept of chivalry in the Middle
Age was extremely important. Chivalry was what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chivalry is no longer a written code that men had to follow. It s now an unwritten code that people
demonstrate in everyday life. They respect each other, protect others, and so much more. People just
do these things because it s the right thing to do. They help each other out and expect nothing in
return. Most people, men to women, adults to children, all follow chivalry even though they don t
have to. Although, a lot of people demonstrate chivalry, but also not everyone follow this unwritten
code , people can be rude, mean, and disrespectful. But, one similar thing modern day chivalry have
with Middle Age chivalry is that it s being demonstrated in reality and also on social medias and TV
shows/movies. The same purpose for chivalry to show up in social medias and movies is to entertain
people, like how the knights fought for other s entertainment. Romantic chivalry was also being show
in the modern day. People fall in love and would do anything to make each other happy. They respect
each other, defend and protect each other, and stay loyal to each other. Romantic chivalry shows up
often in movies and TV shows. Chivalry had evolved immensely since the Middle Ages, but yet still

Description Of Sickle Cell Anemia
Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder. The way it affects the human is that it causes red blood cells
to become rigid and sticky. Red blood cells are normally round and easily move through blood
vessels. However when a person has sickle cell anemia some of his or her red blood cells are sickle
shaped, thus the name sickle cell anemia. Along with the sickle shape the red blood cells are rough
and jagged and can often at times cause blood clots. Another name for this disorder is HBS disease.
The disease happens when the deoxyribonucleic acid (or DNA for short) has a mutation. Now a
mutation can be triggered by a number of things to many chromosomes some kind of antibiotic the
parent took before finding out they were pregnant. There are too

Pride in Young Goodman Brown and The Minister s Black Veil
Many of Hawthorne s characters wrap themselves in a pride of intellect.
The characters become victims of their pride and consequently suffer. Goodman
Brown, from Young Goodman Brown and Hooper, from The Minister s Black Veil
are two characters that suffer from a pride of intellect. Their pride causes
them similar problems and they end up living similar lives, although they came
from different backgrounds.
Hooper and Goodman Brown both become isolated from society. Hooper had a

Puritan and felt as though he could not associate devil worshipers. Brown,
despairing and embittered, belongs neither to the Devil s party nor to the only
other life sustaining cause he knows that of the Puritan faith and the Puritan
community (Levy,119).
Hooper and Goodman Brown s pride of intellect cause them to loose a loved
one and their kind and loving nature. Hooper drives his fiance Elizabeth away
by wearing the veil. Elizabeth sees how Hooper is separating himself and it
scares her away from their purposed marriage. Hooper s fiancee, seems at first
unawed by the veil. To her it is merely a cloth that hides the face she most
delights to see. But, like a sudden twilight in the air, Elizabeth suddenly
senses the unapproachable inner isolation of the man who wears it, and its
terrors fall upon her, too (The Minister s Black Veil,228). As a result of
Hooper pride, he looses his loving and kind nature. Hooper is shunned and even
feared by the others in their times of health and happiness (The Minister s
Black Veil,228). He concentrates so much on the negative aspects of people that
he refuses to see the good in them. He makes the dark side of people the whole
truth of human existence. His own kind and loving nature is lost for

The Threat Of A Terrorist Attack
The constant threat of a terrorist attack is something that not only the United States has to worry about
when it comes to economic and political conditions but other countries also. Terrorist groups have
continued to threaten to harm innocent people or infrastructures at all cost. One way that terrorist can
disrupt the United States economy is an attack on a major shipping port and disrupting their
operations. This could cripple part of the United States because many of our states depend on the
cargo that is brought in and out of our ports. The United States import many different goods from
countries around the world. The following is the top imports from Japan alone :
Japan s exports to America amounted to
$137.4 billion or 5.7% of its overall imports.
1. Vehicles: $46.5 billion 2. Machines, engines, pumps: $31.8 billion 3. Electronic equipment: $17.6

chemicals: $3.9 billion 7. Rubber: $2.5 billion 8. Plastics: $2.3 billion 9. Iron or steel products: $2.3
billion

As you can see that there is so much money and goods that are depended on the companies of the
United States and when it comes to politics, there has been a constant argument on the steps on
improving the security postures and equipment at port terminals in America. This is also the case of
other port terminals around the world. According to the Container

Digital Immigrants In The 21st Century
Born in the digital age and surrounded by digital products, students today are referred as digital
natives who have gained specific technical skills and are fundamentally different from the older
generations in the way of thinking and processing information, thus they require a new educational
approach (Prensky, 2001). To engage with the younger generations, Prensky (2001) suggests that
educators, who are considered as digital immigrants, should change their teaching methodology and
content. As the development of information technology in the 21st century has significantly increased
the speed and greatly ameliorates the way students communicate and gather information, digital
technologies such as computers and digital games are now suggested

Abraham De Vries Double Portraits
Portrait painting thrived in the Netherlands with the increase in production driven by interest in the
idea of personhood and the definition of the individual self. Portraits help document the development
of a personal identity as it connects factors like marital status, class, and profession. A common
portrait genre produced during the seventeenth century portrays their subjects with an impassive
demeanor with little vigor. At first, these paintings may be evaluated as lacking personality or
characterization due to the artist s lack of talent. However, this is rarely the case. In trying to
understand Dutch portraiture, it is important to identify what type of functions they serve. Abraham de
Vries Double Portrait functions not only as recording of his sitters faces but also as a signifier of the
cultural, social and philosophical ideas of the time.
Abraham de Vries Double Portrait depicts a man and a woman sitting at a table. The woman looks up
from her reading while the man turns in his chair. Both of them look out of the frame into the viewer s

Portrait of Isaac Massa and Beatrix van der Laen, there is no intimacy found within the gesture of de
Vries couple. The casual poses and smiles that Isaac and Beatrix share are not present in de Vries
couple. Hals light hearted attitude has also been replaced with a meditative state. This does not mean
the couple has no relationship to each other. Instead of their bond hinging on physical touches, their
spiritual connections are emphasized. The Bible symbolizes the spiritual side and by having both
figures touch it, it shows their connection through religion. The fact that the Bible is the only thing on

Poaching in Africa
Endangered animals all over Africa are on the verge of extinction due to human greed. It is very
difficult to even fathom how many animals are lost each year to poaching. Animals are being stripped
for their parts and left for dead. Poaching has completely exhausted animal populations in Africa,
which damages the environment, and is affecting people all over the world both socially and through
international relations. Poaching is a growing activity in Africa and it is dangerously depleting animal
populations. Poaching is defined as the illegal killing of endangered and/or protected animals and
could also be considered hurting animals that are on protected land (Pedersen). If poaching is
continued, years of conservation and development would have been for nothing. For years, groups
have put work and money into keeping animals safe. Many people turn to poaching as an activity
because it s a quick way to make a lot of money as tusks of a single adult elephant can be worth more
than ten times the average annual income in many African countries . Rhino poaching rates were up
1000% at the beginning of the decade and is continuing to grow quickly ( The African Poaching Crisis
). Many, many animals and people are affected by this poaching. Poaching is the result of many other
issues. High demands in Asian markets mean more reward for poachers and without this demand there
would be no reason to poach at all ( Poaching Infographic ). Another cause of poaching is the

A Community health center can be defined as a center where high quality primary and preventive

characteristics a community health center must possess to be fully functional. Some of which are:
the population that the health center caters to must be identified as an unserved or underserved one

American With Disabilities Act Into Law
More than fifty six million Americans have one or more physical disabilities. Many of these
individuals are physically able to partake in everyday activities, yet they are excluded from these
opportunities (Crockett). People with disabilities are intentionally isolated by society due to a
stereotypical assumption of their lack of abilities to participate and contribute (Harris 368). They are
viewed as objects of pity, who are unable to work, go to school, or live on their own (Crockett). Ed
Roberts, an individual with a disability, clearly states, [we] are considered the weakest, the most
helpless people in our society, [but] are the strongest, and will not tolerate segregation, [and] will not
tolerate a society which sees us as less than whole people (Laney 21). He wants to reshape the image
that society has on them and prove that people with disabilities are just as capable as everyone else.
George H.W. Bush signed the American with Disabilities Act into law on July 26, 1990. (The
Americans with Disabilities Act: A Brief overview). Bush knew that the act was powerful in its
simplicity and that it would ensure that people with disabilities [were] given the basic guarantees for
which they have worked so long and hard (Americans with Disabilities Act, Medicine 3). The goal
was to help people with disabilities live the American Dream and be identified by their potential and
not their inadequacies (Rodgers 2). Since the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into

of the interesting mysteries of the century. Many researchers are interested to discover the mystery of

(2) Competition With Managers from C3 Presents at the helm of BDO the event can now excel in
getting big name headliners at better prices and also reduce the risks of being out bid by other festivals
such as Soundwave and Future Music. This is because of C3 s buying power and contacts. C3 can use
past contacts from Lollapalooza to invite headline shows from their American festival to also tour as

Physical development provides children with the abilities they need to explore and interact with the
world around them. It is also about improving the skills of coordination, control, manipulation and
movement, although the age at which they achieve them may differ from child to child.
The physical development of young children must be encouraged through the provision of

them learn much easier to suit their needs and bring in activities that will stimulate them. Another
reason why children are observed could be because a child has not been very sociable and doesn t
have many friends or any at all. By observing them you can find out what is causing this, and can plan
activities that encourage the children to make friends and work as a team, for example, setting out
chairs in a certain way, then telling each child where to sit so that they don t favour their friends, they
are then encourage to communicate and get involved with the new children around them. As a

The Hidden Assault On Our Civil Rights By Kenji Yoshino
It is not uncommon for people to wear a mask when trying to hide something they wish not to share,
but when it starts to impacting them and other people around them negatively, it becomes a problem.
Having to hide aspects of one s life just to fit in with the rest of society is something that is
unnecessary, even if one feels that it is needed. Kenji Yoshino is the Chief Justice Earl Warren
professor of Constitutional Law at New York University. Yoshino is also the author of the book,
Covering: The Hidden Assault On Our Civil Rights. In New Civil Rights, Kenji Yoshino talks about
covering as Covering is to tone down a disfavored identity to fit into the mainstream (Yoshino 552).
Although covering in society is something that appears to be normal, having to hide a part of one s life
can impact them negatively because they cannot express who they really are. Expressing oneself
should be considered the normal, not hiding how they wish to express about themselves. Covering is a
bad trait in society that people have become immune to covet because they feel like they have to so
they can fit into society and be liked by everyone.

The thought of fitting into what is considered to be normal made up by other people is stupid. This
means everyone as a whole is living in a bunch of total lies. Living in what is called normal is the
problem of this world. The true self is associated with human spontaneity and authenticity: Only the
True Self can be creative and only the True Self can feel real (Yoshino 554). If everyone could just
live the way they wanted to society would not have as many angry people. Everyone would be doing
what they love with other people that love to do the samething. Although covering has such a negative

Persuasive Essay On The Matrix
As we grew up, and got into a more understanding stage as a kid, we always have questioned
everything that comes new to us, with the, five W s, (when, where, why, who and what). We
experienced new things like, different hobbies, food, traveling to new places, etc. As we enter the
teenage years, we think our main goal in life is to, go to school, graduate, school again, graduate and
finally our dream job, but life isn t that easy isn t? Life involves money, dealing with people, meeting
new people, drama and other struggling situations. Life is not easy because many things come one it.
Watching The Matrix gave me a real life lesson and made me more open minded about life that can
help anybody. I believe The Matrix answers some questions concerning serious life issues like, self
doubting, taking revenge and taking a new path into your life. Self doubting makes us feel unwanted
and unbelieving on your self when it comes to any situation. Taking revenge only takes place when
somebody is mad at one another by mostly being jealous. Taking a new path may be a start to
something better, and start understanding what you re here for. In The Matrix , Morpheus finds Neo
because he knows he is the one. After Morpheus find him and tells him you re the one , Neo is
confused and wants more answers. Morpheus gives Neo two options to take the blue pill or the red
pill. If he takes the red pill, he will know all the answers he s been wanted to know and if he takes the

Graphically Representing Data
Within a School Setting
Christopher M. Lightfoot Abstract
This paper examines the ability to graphically display frequency distribution tables that are
represented within a school setting. There are three types of data sets that are interpreted within two
types of frequency distribution tables (see Table 1). The first type of data set that is mentioned is a
discrete nominal data set that is graphically displayed as a bar chart (see Figure 1), which displays the
reoccurrence of each category within the simple frequency table (see Table 2). The second data type
referenced is a discrete ordinal data set that was analyzed through a simple frequency table. The
simple frequency table allows for the conversion of the ordinal data into a pie chart (see Figure 2),
which measures the percentages within a four point Likert Scale (see Table 3). The final data source is
a continuous interval set, which was interpreted through a cumulative frequency table (see table 4).
The cumulative frequency table is graphically represented in Figure 3 as a combination of a histogram
(which measures the percentage of class intervals) and scatter points (to identify the cumulative
percentage between all of the class intervals).
Graphically Representing Data
Within a School Setting
The creation of frequency distribution tables allows for the conversion of the data within the set into a
dramatic graphic representation. Research from the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of CO2 Laser
Carbon dioxide laser ablation:
The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been in use for decades as a tool in general and dermatological
surgery. The CO2 laser creates an infrared light at a 10600 nm wavelength that produces a thermal
effect on targeted tissue. The energy from the laser rapidly heats intracellular and extracellular water
to 100 ºC, causing vaporization, thus disrupting cell membranes and causing cell death.
The laser is used to vaporize a layer of epithelium, and this skin is cleared from the field with a
moistened cotton tip applicator or gauze. Johnson et al. described the depth of treatment for CO2 laser
therapy, as several histologic layers can be differentiated with consecutive laser passes, such that the
full depth of dysplastic involvement can be removed. Thus, use of the laser is theoretically curative for
AC and does not cause deep dermal damage with ensuing scar formation.
Several studies on the optimal technique to treat AC lesions by CO2 laser recommend a superpulsed
mode rather than continuous wave form, as pulsed laser therapy decreases recovery time and scarring
potential.
Superpulsed CO2 laser concentrates treatment into rapid powerful pulses that allow cooling ... Show

and the procedure is less invasive and less operator dependent than surgical vermilionectomy. There

Presentation And Presentation Of Presentations
The way in which presentations are developed is important; presentations can be slideshows, practical
demonstrations, training etc. When developing presentations, you need to ensure that you prepare;
define the purpose and the objective that you want to get across to the audience so you know what you
are aiming for and the research that needs to be undertaken prior to the presentation to ensure that this
is achieved. Knowing what media, format and content is the most appropriate and would be the most
effective is important as it can help in the process of planning and also the audience that you need to
base your presentation around as some presentation types may be more beneficial to them than others.

If the presentation is to be held externally and not within the internal buildings then you would be
required to liaise with the stakeholders; venue size and capacity would need to be considered.
When developing a presentation there are many factors that need to be taken into account. When
preparing it is important that you establish a purpose so you can plan what you want to get across to
the audience and set objectives for yourself to work towards; what you intend the outcome to be from
the presentation for example, as that way you can then review yourself on how you feel you done
afterwards from what you achieved. You will need to assess whether or not the audience of your
presentation will need prior knowledge of the topic and depending on who you are presenting to; how
you can win them over with your presentation and what tactics would work best for them particular
people. The venue in which you are presenting in is important; you will need to ensure that the
location of the venue is easily accessible for all attending and the arrangements of the room/seating is
appropriate and will give across an atmosphere that you want; the size of the venue will affect this.
The venue will also need to have the resources required for the audio and visual aspects of the
presentation; speakers, projector

John Kasich Political Analysis
You would think never losing an election, being the governor of a swing state, and creating 317,000
jobs (Hunt,) would cause one to be in the national spotlight, but in the perplexing case of the 2016
United States presidential election, Ohio governor John Kasich has not gained any traction and is
largely unknown among most voting republicans. In 2016, Kasich offers the Republican party a
moderate candidate for the presidency, as he is known for sharing views and making compromises
with the Democratic party. John Kasich has made a name for himself by holding various positions in
and out of the government, which has given him the experience necessary for the presidency.
Currently Kasich is pursuing a bid for the presidency, but his campaign ... Show more content on

Kasich is a leader who had a 62 percent approval rating in his home state of Ohio, which shows the
fact that he is an effective leader who is supported by his people (Gold.) Views held by the Governor
include defunding Planned Parenthood, having education be controlled at the local and state level,
having the right to bear arms, keeping social safety nets but also removing Obamacare from that
category. Kasich has been campaigning with the Kasich Action Plan, which outlines Kasich s specific
strategy that creates the climate for job creation by balancing the budget in eight years (Kasich.)
Kasich believes that cutting taxes, reforming entitlement programs, and using reliable energy will help
grow the economy. The action plan presents a philosophy that reforming the economy is the most
important part of the federal government and other issues such as education should be controlled at the
state and federal level. So far in the race for presidency Kasich has won the Ohio primary, which
granted him 66 delegates and he has accrued 143 total (RealClearPolitics.) While it is mathematically
impossible for Kasich to gain the necessary 1,237 delegates, he hopes to prevent Donald Trump and
Ted Cruz from getting that many so there can be a brokered (or contested) convention. Kasich has

Make the case for the resumption of commercial whaling as an international policy. Commercial

popular in most countries, countries like Alaska, Iceland, Norway, and Japan have whale meat on their

In my opinion, every species, including humans, is a part of the food chain. Whether or not humans
are at the top of the food chain isn t what is important when it comes to the relationship between us
and whales. We have the technology and intelligence to kill whales and use them at important
resources, including food, wax (for candles and cosmetics), and pharmaceuticals. We should be taking
every advantage we get to further develop our knowledge of whale oil, meat, and cartilage. I believe
that we should use every opportunity to better our lives, but that does not include kill whales
recreationally. There is no excuse for that, just like there is no excuse for kills of dogs, zebras, or
pandas. Unless it is for survival, no one should be killing an animal for fun. That saying, there is a
point when we will have to stop commercial whaling. The whale population has been an interesting
trend to research. Whale population has been very high and very low in the past couple centuries. My
opinion is that we should have a set number of whales that we can take out of the ocean each year. If
that number starts to cause a decline in the population, it should be set lower. If the population
becomes endangered, I believe that whaling should stop immediately. I could imagine having to

Infant Simulators Role In Reducing Teenage Pregnancy
Teenage pregnancy takes place when a female under the age of 20 falls pregnant.
Boonstra (2011) identified that moderate rates of teenage pregnancy occur in Australia with 43.7
pregnancies per 1000 teenage girls. This is a significant contemporary issue as there are larger risks
involved with teenage pregnancy including health, financial and social implications (Brinkman et al,
2016), creating larger socio economic problems for young parents, their children and society (Zhou et

Langston Hughes On the Road Essay
Langston Hughes On the Road In Langston Hughes, On the Road the Sargeant is a homeless Black

but there is no one at the Church to help him get refuge. Although Sargent is living in a time where the

As the Church denied that Christ died, was buried and risen, the white congregation was denying that
Sargeant was a free man with rights. Hughes illustrates the reasons people do no like the Church
today. Rev. Dorset, white or black, should have had compassion for Sargent. It is disappointing to see
Rev. Dorset turned away Sargent, especially during the depression. A follower is a reflection of his/her
leader and that is why everyone ignored and refused to help Sargeant. A Church has always been the
place where anyone can be accepted. Christ says: They have kept me nailed on the cross for nearly
two thousand years(619). This line symbolizes the stumbbling blocks that a congregation can cause to
an individual. Although the congregational members have the power, their power was not enough to
keep the Church together. As long as racism exists in a society, the oppressor and the oppressed will
be bound and never free. When the church fell down, symbolically, it was Sargeant who fell. And
when the Sargent got up and started walking, Christ was walking beside him. At this moment Sargent
finds comfort, approval and company with Christ. Imagine roaming around a neighborhood with no

1.2 Explain The Importance Of Children s Secondary Sources
A secondary source is written after an event has occurred and is written by someone who has viewed
the event second hand and has a different perspective, usually someone who looks beyond the main
event and can broaden your view on the situation. Unlike a primary source coming from someone who
has witnessed the event or heard first hand, the secondary source is to read about the event and give
their perspective of the situation. Collecting a child s secondary sources can come from their mother
or another family member who knows the child s background information, otherwise their child care
nurse or speech pathologist.
Using children s records is an important part of tracking a child s progression, the child s carer needs
to take into account the children s interests, learning styles, skills, behaviour, and how they re
interacting with other children. These records can be taken in written form, video, photography or

that goal should not be sacrificed by the choice to have a child. To add to her claim, the author

War II in 1940 alongside the Axis which included Germany and Italy. Hideki Tojo then came to power
a year later. The Government saw the Dutch East Indies rich in oil as well as other Asian territories.
However the only threat to stopping the Japanese from conquering them was the U.S. Navy. In order
for this to happen Japan bombed the Huge Naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The surprise attack
killed 2,400 Americans and damaged warships and planes. Congress quickly took action and declared
war on Japan. On December 11 Japan s allies declared war on the United States. Roosevelt signed
Executive order 9066 on February 19, 1942. Executive order 9066 forced all the Japanese on the West

Americans during WWII was not justified because it was done because of their race, it violated their
individual rights, and it did not help the war effort.
The U.S. issued Executive Order 9066 because of fear and anger towards the Japanese. American

Holden s Loss Of Hope In Catcher In The Rye
In the last two chapter of Catcher In the Rye, Holden s emotions and relation to hope is constantly
changing. Hope is a strange thing in Holden s mind and in the book, for he often has a lack of hope

This rock, the thing that holds him in New York City, is his sister, Phoebe. She is the one who gives

what makes Holden happy, causing him to try another school. Holden loses hope in the beginning of

Love, Care, And Treat People With Respect From A Very...
I was taught to love, care, and treat people with respect from a very young age. When I was a young
girl, my mom would take me with her to work. At the time, she worked at an assisted living center in
Rome, Georgia. You see, I was a very quiet and curious child who observed the world innocently with
bright, untainted eyes. I didn t care much to be around the other children who were usually loud and
somewhat bothersome, but I enjoyed being around adults. So when my mom would take me with her,
the elderly people living there found much joy in having my company. I would sit and listen to them
tell me all sorts of stories from their past for hours on end, but I loved to hear about them. In a way, I
somehow understood that these people were lonely and only had so much time left. They just wanted
someone who could appreciate them and what they had to say; they wanted to feel like they were of
some importance and had a sense of meaning. I cared greatly about what they had to say, even though
I didn t understand it that much. More importantly, I cared about their feelings and wellbeing. I can
still remember at least two of my mom s patients. One was a man named Lou, and I believe he wore a
prosthetic leg. He was a very sweet and dear old man who loved the outdoors. My mom would bring
him outside in the mornings to watch the birds and to get some fresh, crisp, morning air. He had
become a great friend to the both of us, a bit like a father and

Loss and Reflection in The Wife s Lament
Loss and Reflection in The Wife s Lament
Isolation from society can evoke a deep loneliness and self reflection. The poem The Wife s Lament
from the Exeter Book expresses the desolation of exile. The dominant theme is the contrast of a happy
past and a bleak present of isolation. The anonymous author of The Wife s Lament uses setting, tone,
and conflict to develop the theme of great loss. He/she augments a situation in which meditation on
life s past joys is the only redemption in a life sentenced to confinement. The Wife s Lament is an
excellent example of nostalgia, resentment of the present, and hopelessness about the future.
While there has been much ambiguity surrounding the exact setting in the elegy, the author uses
imagery of the speaker s environment to further emphasize the dismal realities of exile. The harsh land
in which the wife is required to live mirrors the passionate longing and loneliness that she displays.
This earth hall is old, and I ache with longing; the dales are dark, the hills too high, harsh hedges
overhung with briars, a home without joy (Exeter Book 29 32).
Meyer II
The author emphasizes the drastic contrast in the speaker s emotional state through the setting she
finds herself in. She is taken from the comfort of her home and thrust both an environment and mind
state of isolation. However, the setting also helps fuel the hatred that develops in the wife s mind for
her husband. The speaker is ambivalent of her feelings for her

Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two possible contenders to represent their political parties in
the upcoming presidential elections in 2016. After several GOP/Democratic debates, Trump and
Clinton have firmly addressed their immigration reform plans, which greatly contrast with one
another.
Before running for the presidency, Donald Trump was, and still is, a business magnate. His
immigration reform focuses on three fundamental principles in order to make America great again.
Firstly, Trump believes a nation without a border is simply not a nation, which is a key principle,
central to his campaign. Secondly, Trump states that A nation without laws is not a nation.
Consequently, he is determined to strictly enforce both old and new laws made during his presidency.
Lastly, Trump believes that a nation must first prioritize its citizens, in terms of employment, wages
and safety (Trump, 2015).
To enforce his first principle, Donald Trump plans to construct a wall along the southern border in
between the U.S. and Mexico, which he guarantees the Mexican government will be fully financially
responsible for. He strongly believes that the U.S. taxpayers have been directly affected by this
situation in terms of increased health care, housing and education costs etc. which are caused by the
transfer of crime and poverty that comes with illegal immigration from Mexico (Trump, 2015).
Although as a senator, Clinton voted several times to construct a barrier with the intent of

Prostitution in the Victorian Era Essay
Prostitution in the Victorian Era
There were many prostitutes during the Victorian era. Most were lower class women, with the
exception of the mistresses kept by upper class men. According to Victorian standards, respectable
women did not consider sexual intercourse pleasurable. It was their duty to be intimate with their
husbands. Having affairs was disgraceful (Waters). Prostitutes, on the other hand, were sexually
intimate with men because they enjoyed sex. Men enjoyed prostitutes because they could not enjoy
their wives. Victorian femininity was not defined by sexual pleasure, while Victorian masculinity was
defined by sexual pleasure and conquest. Prostitutes did not necessarily enjoy their sexual ... Show

Respectable men and women would lure young women, usually from a lower class background, away
from their homes and sell them into prostitution. Rarely did these young women go back to their
families; not because they free to go, but because the procurators and procuresses never allowed these
women a moment to be truly alone in public. These horrible men and women controlled these young
women s lives as if they were possessions. In the off chance that a young woman escaped her
bondage, she was not welcome back into her family with open arms. She was an outcast because she
was a prostitute (by society s standards). Unfortunately, there was no help for these young girls, or any
other prostitute. The people in a position to help them, like The Society for the Protection of Women
and Children, turned a blind eye towards these women. The Society for the Protection of Women and
Children only helped the privileged, not the needy (Wells 56). Prostitutes were not confined to one
way of presenting their services. There were many types of brothels that serviced men from all social
classes visited. Streetwalkers lived in Accommodation houses, which is one type of brothel (Wells 56).
These women did not pay a Madame for their room and board, but accountable to themselves. Other
prostitutes lived under the watchful eyes of their procuresses. These women lived in

Pulmonary Drug Delivery of Peptides and Proteins
Pulmonary drug delivery of peptides and proteins is highly desirable because of many advantages
such as rapid and predictable onset of action, high relative bioavailability and non invasive mode of
administration which improves patient compliance. In the current study the effect of sugar carrier type
(trehalose as non reducing and maltose as reducing sugar), hydroxy propyl β cyclodextrin
concentration (0%, 0.02% and 0.04%) and adding tween 80 as surfactant on physicochemical stability
and aerosol performance of spray freeze dried salmon calcitonin was investigated. High performance
liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis indicated that cyclodextrin concentration had the most
important effect on powder s chemical stability and by increasing the concentration of cyclodextrin
stability of the formulations increase dramatically. Based on the chemical stability data four
formulations (chemical stability over than 90% ) was selected for further examinations. Fluorescence
spectroscopy and circular dichroism data suggest that these chemically stable formulations are
structurally stable too. Aerosol performance data shows that surfactant free formulations produce
higher fine particle fraction (approximately 70%) than surfactant containing formulations
(approximately 50%). It may be due to the more cohesive structure of surfactant containing
formulations.

Depression is defined as an alteration in mood that is expressed by feelings of sadness, despair, or
pessimism (Neeb s, 397). There are seven types of depressive disorders which are major depressive
disorder, dysthymic disorder, postpartum depression, major depressive disorder with seasonal pattern,
substance induced depressive disorder, depressive disorder associated with another medical condition,
and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Each type of depression has it s own criteria for a patient to be
diagnosed under. Depression often goes hand in hand with anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders,

postpartum depression include anxiety, irritability, loss of interest in new baby, withdrawn, sleep
disturbances, loss of appetite, poor concentration, and irrational guilt (Neeb s, 325). Factors that
contribute to postpartum depression are hormone fluctuations, family history of depression, stressful
relationship with partner, pregnancy under age 20, or lack of social support (Neeb s, 325). It is

privileged lives you all live (Inflated Language)? Then what of it, comrades? You all are parading

Persuasive Speech On Government Reform
Sir: On the occasion of the one year anniversary of your inauguration as President of the United
States, THE CRISIS wrote this letter to mark the momentous affair. Sir, you have now been President
for twelve months, and what is the result? You have systematically broken all your promises and failed
your constituency. Over a year ago, voters were whisked away in your fantasies of greater America,
and now they are all rendered sober by the new reality. You give strength to your rich friends and
donors, while the people who voted for you, who hoped of a stronger, more prosperous economic
future, are victims of your latest tragic endeavor.
Within this past month, you have vehemently advocated for the new tax plan, which intends to
drastically cut taxes, while broadening the base . You promised to eliminate unwanted loopholes, tax
breaks, and special favors. You assured voters that there would be a new tax system, where less time
and energy would be wasted on gaming the system to reduce taxes, and for a tax system that would
become fairer. However, this plan is not fulfilling your promises, because it will cut too many taxes
without raising enough revenue to support the government. This will result in hurting the middle class,
while creating a devastating deficit. Thirty seven out of thirty eight economists agreed that your bill
will create a deficit that substantially increases the national debt in a short period of time. Do you even
know what s in the projected 5.9 trillion

  • 2. Jackson Pollock s Full Fathom Five Jackson Pollock s painting titled Full Fathom Five reveals black and silver splatters of paint that aren t necessarily straight. His painting includes colors such as blue, black, white and even specks of orange. In addition, there are no figures which can be easily deciphered and the paint seems to have been spilled all over the canvas. Thus, the painting does not display calculation or a heavy use of logic. Instead, his creation seems to thrive off creativity and disorder. So I ask, how do we make sense of such an unreasonable painting? The answer can be found within the philosophical ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche introduces to readers both the Apollonian force and the Dionysian force is his book The Birth of Tragedy. To be specific, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under these circumstances, Jackson Pollock s painting has a sense of musicality to it that adds onto the creative disorder. That is to say that his irrational paint splatters are almost rhythmic in the way they were splattered onto the canvas. Friedrich Nietzsche believes that this rhythm is very significant since it only occurs under the influence of the Dionysian force. This can be seen in the quote: The essence of nature is now to be expressed symbolically...not the mere symbolism of the lips, face, and speech but the whole pantomime of dancing, forcing every member into rhythmic movement, Then the other symbolic powers suddenly press forward, particularly those of music, in rhythmics, dynamics, and harmony (Cahn and Meskin 225). Nietzsche s quote tells us how the Dionysian force causes a dancer to exude harmony and rhythm. As dancers under the Dionysian influence would all dance together in unison, the paint splatters dance across the canvas in a way that makes it all come together. For this reason, when looking at Full Fathom Five, the paint starts to resemble musical dance rather than images or lines. However, Pollock s painting not only features motions similar to the the art of dance. Full Fathom Five is essentially a grand mystery of indiscernible images coexisting among one another. For example, Friedrich Nietzsche says ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Independence, Famine, And Soviet Rule INTRODUCTION: Independence, Famine, and Soviet Rule: At the end of World War I, Ukraine enjoyed a brief period of independence as a result of the 1917 Russian Revolution; unfortunately, this period lacked cohesive leadership as a result of competing Ukranian factions. Ukraine ultimately joined the Soviet Union in 1922, bringing more stability to the region. Ten years later, however, 10 million Ukrainians died as a result of the Holodomor, an orchestrated famine by Joseph Stalin. Many of these individuals are physically able to partake in everyday activities, yet they are excluded from these opportunities (Crockett). People with disabilities are intentionally isolated by society due to a stereotypical assumption of their lack of abilities to participate and contribute (Harris 368). They are viewed as objects of pity, who are unable to work, go to school, or live on their own (Crockett). Ed Roberts, an individual with a disability, clearly states, [we] are considered the weakest, the most helpless people in our society, [but] are the strongest, and will not tolerate segregation, [and] will not tolerate a society which sees us as less than whole people (Laney 21). Persuasive Essay On The Matrix As we grew up, and got into a more understanding stage as a kid, we always have questioned everything that comes new to us, with the, five W s, (when, where, why, who and what). We experienced new things like, different hobbies, food, traveling to new places, etc. As we enter the teenage years, we think our main goal in life is to, go to school, graduate, school again, graduate and finally our dream job, but life isn t that easy isn t? Life involves money, dealing with people, meeting new people, drama and other struggling situations. Life is not easy because many things come one it. Watching The Matrix gave me a real life lesson and made me more open minded about life that can help anybody. I believe The Matrix answers some questions concerning serious life issues like, self doubting, taking revenge and taking a new path into your life. Self doubting makes us feel unwanted and unbelieving on your self when it comes to any situation. Taking revenge only takes place when somebody is mad at one another by mostly being jealous. Taking a new path may be a start to something better, and start understanding what you re here for. In The Matrix , Morpheus finds Neo because he knows he is the one. After Morpheus find him and tells him you re the one , Neo is confused and wants more answers. Morpheus gives Neo two options to take the blue pill or the red pill. • 28. Graphically Representing Data And Distribution Tables That... Graphically Representing Data Within a School Setting Christopher M. Lightfoot Abstract This paper examines the ability to graphically display frequency distribution tables that are represented within a school setting. There are three types of data sets that are interpreted within two types of frequency distribution tables (see Table 1). The first type of data set that is mentioned is a discrete nominal data set that is graphically displayed as a bar chart (see Figure 1), which displays the reoccurrence of each category within the simple frequency table (see Table 2). The second data type referenced is a discrete ordinal data set that was analyzed through a simple frequency table. The simple frequency table allows for the conversion of the ordinal data into a pie chart (see Figure 2), which measures the percentages within a four point Likert Scale (see Table 3). The final data source is a continuous interval set, which was interpreted through a cumulative frequency table (see table 4). The cumulative frequency table is graphically represented in Figure 3 as a combination of a histogram (which measures the percentage of class intervals) and scatter points (to identify the cumulative percentage between all of the class intervals). Graphically Representing Data Within a School Setting The creation of frequency distribution tables allows for the conversion of the data within the set into a dramatic graphic representation. • 29. Advantages And Disadvantages Of CO2 Laser Carbon dioxide laser ablation: The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been in use for decades as a tool in general and dermatological surgery. The CO2 laser creates an infrared light at a 10600 nm wavelength that produces a thermal effect on targeted tissue. The energy from the laser rapidly heats intracellular and extracellular water to 100 ºC, causing vaporization, thus disrupting cell membranes and causing cell death. The laser is used to vaporize a layer of epithelium, and this skin is cleared from the field with a moistened cotton tip applicator or gauze. Johnson et al. described the depth of treatment for CO2 laser therapy, as several histologic layers can be differentiated with consecutive laser passes, such that the full depth of dysplastic involvement can be removed. Thus, use of the laser is theoretically curative for AC and does not cause deep dermal damage with ensuing scar formation. Several studies on the optimal technique to treat AC lesions by CO2 laser recommend a superpulsed mode rather than continuous wave form, as pulsed laser therapy decreases recovery time and scarring potential. Superpulsed CO2 laser concentrates treatment into rapid powerful pulses that allow cooling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That saying, there is a point when we will have to stop commercial whaling. The whale population has been an interesting trend to research. Whale population has been very high and very low in the past couple centuries. My opinion is that we should have a set number of whales that we can take out of the ocean each year. You see, I was a very quiet and curious child who observed the world innocently with bright, untainted eyes. I didn t care much to be around the other children who were usually loud and somewhat bothersome, but I enjoyed being around adults. So when my mom would take me with her, the elderly people living there found much joy in having my company. The poem The Wife s Lament from the Exeter Book expresses the desolation of exile. The dominant theme is the contrast of a happy past and a bleak present of isolation. The anonymous author of The Wife s Lament uses setting, tone, and conflict to develop the theme of great loss. He/she augments a situation in which meditation on life s past joys is the only redemption in a life sentenced to confinement. The Wife s Lament is an excellent example of nostalgia, resentment of the present, and hopelessness about the future. While there has been much ambiguity surrounding the exact setting in the elegy, the author uses imagery of the speaker s environment to further emphasize the dismal realities of exile. The harsh land in which the wife is required to live mirrors the passionate longing and loneliness that she displays. This earth hall is old, and I ache with longing; the dales are dark, the hills too high, harsh hedges overhung with briars, a home without joy (Exeter Book 29 32). Meyer II The author emphasizes the drastic contrast in the speaker s emotional state through the setting she finds herself in. After several GOP/Democratic debates, Trump and Clinton have firmly addressed their immigration reform plans, which greatly contrast with one another. Before running for the presidency, Donald Trump was, and still is, a business magnate. His immigration reform focuses on three fundamental principles in order to make America great again. Consequently, he is determined to strictly enforce both old and new laws made during his presidency. To enforce his first principle, Donald Trump plans to construct a wall along the southern border in between the U.S. and Mexico, which he guarantees the Mexican government will be fully financially responsible for. In the off chance that a young woman escaped her bondage, she was not welcome back into her family with open arms. She was an outcast because she was a prostitute (by society s standards). Unfortunately, there was no help for these young girls, or any other prostitute. The people in a position to help them, like The Society for the Protection of Women and Children, turned a blind eye towards these women. The Society for the Protection of Women and Children only helped the privileged, not the needy (Wells 56). Prostitutes were not confined to one way of presenting their services. There were many types of brothels that serviced men from all social classes visited. Streetwalkers lived in Accommodation houses, which is one type of brothel (Wells 56). These women did not pay a Madame for their room and board, but accountable to themselves. Other prostitutes lived under the watchful eyes of their procuresses. These women lived in ... • 49. Pulmonary Drug Delivery of Peptides and Proteins Pulmonary drug delivery of peptides and proteins is highly desirable because of many advantages such as rapid and predictable onset of action, high relative bioavailability and non invasive mode of administration which improves patient compliance. In the current study the effect of sugar carrier type (trehalose as non reducing and maltose as reducing sugar), hydroxy propyl β cyclodextrin concentration (0%, 0.02% and 0.04%) and adding tween 80 as surfactant on physicochemical stability and aerosol performance of spray freeze dried salmon calcitonin was investigated. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis indicated that cyclodextrin concentration had the most important effect on powder s chemical stability and by increasing the concentration of cyclodextrin stability of the formulations increase dramatically. Based on the chemical stability data four formulations (chemical stability over than 90% ) was selected for further examinations. Fluorescence spectroscopy and circular dichroism data suggest that these chemically stable formulations are structurally stable too. Aerosol performance data shows that surfactant free formulations produce higher fine particle fraction (approximately 70%) than surfactant containing formulations (approximately 50%). It may be due to the more cohesive structure of surfactant containing formulations. There are seven types of depressive disorders which are major depressive disorder, dysthymic disorder, postpartum depression, major depressive disorder with seasonal pattern, substance induced depressive disorder, depressive disorder associated with another medical condition, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Each type of depression has it s own criteria for a patient to be diagnosed under. Depression often goes hand in hand with anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders (ATI, 97). • 54. Persuasive Speech On Government Reform Sir: On the occasion of the one year anniversary of your inauguration as President of the United States, THE CRISIS wrote this letter to mark the momentous affair. Sir, you have now been President for twelve months, and what is the result? You have systematically broken all your promises and failed your constituency. Over a year ago, voters were whisked away in your fantasies of greater America, and now they are all rendered sober by the new reality. You give strength to your rich friends and donors, while the people who voted for you, who hoped of a stronger, more prosperous economic future, are victims of your latest tragic endeavor. Within this past month, you have vehemently advocated for the new tax plan, which intends to drastically cut taxes, while broadening the base . You promised to eliminate unwanted loopholes, tax breaks, and special favors. You assured voters that there would be a new tax system, where less time and energy would be wasted on gaming the system to reduce taxes, and for a tax system that would become fairer. However, this plan is not fulfilling your promises, because it will cut too many taxes without raising enough revenue to support the government. This will result in hurting the middle class, while creating a devastating deficit. Thirty seven out of thirty eight economists agreed that your bill will create a deficit that substantially increases the national debt in a short period of time. Do you even know what s in the projected 5.9 trillion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
