FUNCTIONS OF THE
NERVOUS SYSTEM
The nervous system is
formed of two parts that are
integrally linked with each
other . The brain and the
nervous system has multiple
functions that are vital for
normal functioning of the
body.
1. It regulates
and coordinates
the activities and
functions of all
our body organ
systems.
2. It governs all
our conscious
activities like
thinking,
reasoning and
learning
3. It is
responsible for
all our emotions
like love anger
and fear.
4. It controls the
involuntary
functions of
some organs like
heartbeat,
breathing and
peristalsis.
5. It helps us
interpret and
respond to the
messages received
by our sense organs
6. It is
responsible
for reflex
actions.
