-2015 Exchange Exhibition of Asia Contemporary Ceramic Art
River flows from the side of the hill named Xiangshan; Students work in the quiet garden view
campus, which the buildings there are decorated with historical ceramic tiles.
For students and teachers, having a chance to be in this cultural environment is a life s fortune.
Although today s social life is so different from the past, people are getting harder to focus on pure
academic research because of the distractions from daily affairs. Especially for higher degree students
that rely on independent research, which provides freedom, but also brings the problems of shallow
research. Currently, the higher degree education in contemporary ceramic art of Asian should
construct its own value system that suits Eastern culture and aesthetic. The views of above aspects had
formed the exhibition s main concept.
The Asian art academies are facing the same situation in the higher degree education of ceramic art.
The day to day teaching needs new energy and clear direction; the homogeneity in teaching should be
avoided, and the lack of uniqueness should be made up. So, we need to focus on the root of problem
and plan ahead. The scholar Zhu Xi has asked in his book The Feeling Arisen By Reading: Asking

God Father Symbolism
The 1930 s and 40 s were a famous time for gangsters, mobs and mafias. The God Father directed by
Francis Ford Coppola and written by Mario Puzo focuses on this era. Gangster genre films always
seem to have dark colors and low lighting, usually an urban city location and outfitting is formal,
props in these films are guns, cigars/cigarettes, drugs and money. Everything is put in a film for a
reason and all these elements combine to create a typical gangster setting. But, The God Father was
not a typical gangster film. Mario Puzo used many, if not all of these elements but he refined the
gangster genre using intricate editing techinques. In the first scene at his daughters wedding, Bonasera
asks Don Carleone to avenge his daughters assaliant. The lighting in this scene was dark and the
camera angles high and low symbolizing who had the most power. It worked for this particluar scene
because they were doing a back door dealing and also showed us how Don Carleone was looked up to
and respected by others. The film is set in 1940 s New York, Don Corleone and his men are always
seen in formal wear, and Corleone had a cigar in a number of scenes although we dont see stacks of
money all the time it is shown to us indirectly when we see his mansion and expensive cars and fancy
dinners. This also worked for the film because it was historically correct, 1940 s New York was home
to many mobsters and crime families and the outfits represented their status in society. In my opinion I

The Negative Effects Of Poverty On Children And Children
Besides the fact that poverty affects a child s education, it can also affect where that child might sleep
at night. During the 2009 2010 school year, 939,903 homeless children and youth were enrolled in
public schools, a 38% increase from the 2006 2007 school year ( Effects of Poverty... ). These
numbers only include grade K 12, so it is not accurate considering there are more children
unaccounted for. In 2010 more than 1.6 million children (1 in 45 children) in America were homeless
and that approximately 650,000 are below age 6 ( Effects of Poverty... ). With children being
homeless, whether that be bouncing around from home to home or actually living on the streets, it can
all be very detrimental to a child s life. Homelessness has particularly adverse effects on children and
youth, including hunger, poor physical and mental health, and missed educational opportunities (
Effects of Poverty... ). When children are in unstable environments, they begin to miss more
opportunities, such as potential jobs or educational chances. These put the child back multiple steps,
and can most often lead to children dropping out of school and getting involved with the worse parts
of life. The children can get involved with violent crimes which can lead to either them doing violent
crimes or mental issues from witnessing. They could also get involved with drugs and alcohol, which
can cause thousands of problems down the road. Being homeless, whether a child is with their parents
or not is

About 10 years ago, self driving cars were seen in movies that took place 50 years in the future, but
today, the self driving car is very close to becoming a reality that we will see in our streets. Self
driving cars or autonomous vehicles are already on the road in pilot programs and so far are seen as
capable of driving alongside humans with no difficulties. While you may thing that these cars will be
rare, Google has started a frenzy in the technology world and it is being followed by company after
company progressing their own autonomous vehicle. Most companies are making these cars with the
idea in mind of sometimes it is nice to drive and therefore are making car which a human can drive,

The Importance Of Powerful Messages In Toy Story, By Pixar
We all know Pixar for their entertaining, lovable, animated movies that not only share valuable themes
for children, but also their parents and older audiences as well. From 1995 when Pixar released the
first Toy Story film to this day, many people have grown up watching the gang of toys go on their
adventures (up 1). Teaching its audience many meaningful messages, from the importance of
friendship, to simple lessons like respecting your belongings. The films have an effect on the audience
in a way that they are able to connect to the characters of the story. Every character has their own
struggles to overcome and show us different values to embrace in our everyday life. In addition, the
trilogy of all the movies as a whole enlighten us with the fears we have about change, and also how it
can be inevitable and rewarding.
Toy Story 1 is a film that teaches us about how woody has had to confront his personal issues upon the
arrival of a new toy, who took his place in being Andy s favorite toy. For several years Woody was the
favorite of all toys for a young boy named Andy, they were never apart from each other. Woody had
special preference over all the other toys and even had a special spot on Andy s bed! With all this

Gradient Analytics
It has been observed that companies tend to underperform when their insiders use trading plans to sell
stock. New research also points to the conclusion that more aggressive plans are associated with the
lowest performances. Gradient Analytics Inc., an independent research firm, followed insider sales of
30 companies and concluded that aggressive trading plans resulted in a 9.7% average
underperformance in their companies stocks over 6 months. Insider trading plans (also called 10b5 1
plans) are arrangements that allow the insiders of publicly traded companies to sell stocks they
possess. To determine whether a trading plan can be considered aggressive , Gradient had specific
measures. Gradient noticed in the summer of 2007 that Novatel Wireless Inc. executives had started
selling through trading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also noticed that the amounts being sold were drastically larger than past selling. In fact, during
the 2nd and 3rd quarters of that year, 9 of Novatel s executives sold 1.4 million shares for 33 million
dollars. Gradient noticed more aggressive behavior when those same executives dropped over half of
their beneficial ownership of Novatel with the sales of these stocks. Also, any plan less than 12
months is considered aggressive. The President and Acting Chief Executive of Novatel, George B.
Weinert, had only a 6 month plan. After Gradient s report, Novatel s shares dropped over 50% in 6
months. The lesson of this article is that when a company starts to use insider trading plans, it may be
time to sell that company s stock. An SEC spokesperson has declined to comment on if they believe
some companies could abuse 10b5 1

Social Media Reflection
Social media is a medium in which people post about whatever they deem necessary. According to
Sherry Turkle s book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for
themselves and to pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my
social media, it was very difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to
portray. One similarity that I can see between Turkle s analysis of social media and my personal
account is that my account does portray a type of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some
unconscious way making a name for myself, but the problem arises when there are no differences
between my social media self and my real self. Online I portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and
my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress anybody and I do not share anything for
any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post when I feel I need to yet looking
deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns between what I like and how
it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I generally use a calm, realistic
tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust in the wind kind of guy. I don t care to change
my profile picture and haven t changed it since 8th grade. Even most of what I like and/or share has no
specific agenda, it s just simply what I find interesting or funny. On top of that, I haven t even shared
anything in about ten months and the only things I like are things that my family shares with me or
tags me in. I have not physically posted an update of my life or anything in five years only because I
don t feel the need to. For example, the last text post that I made was on my birthday in 2013, when I
thanked everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even reading through my recent shares, I ve come
to realize that I do not intend to portray myself in any different way other than what I am. The last
thing that I shared was a video of a cat I thought my sister would find amusing (which she did). On
Facebook, I give off the impression that I am a very laid back person and that is truly how I act. Just
looking at my activity, it

Spice Girls Research Paper
The five original members of the Spice Girls haven t appeared on stage together since 2012, but if one
member has her way, that will change in 2016.
According to the Daily Mail, Mel B, known during her Spice Girls days as Scary Spice, appeared on
Alan Carr s New Year s Specstacular and the host asked the singer if a reunion of the epic pop group is
in the cards. Once again, Mel B confirmed that the ambassadors of girl power will reunite in 2016 to
mark their 20th anniversary.

Their 2007 reunion tour earned the band an estimated $107.5 million in ticket sales and merchandise.
While none of the members are broke, Victoria Beckham s estimated $300 million net worth means
that she doesn t need to tour to stay afloat. That coupled with the band s well received appearance at
the 2012 Olympics in Lodon, might make Victoria Beckham reluctant to risk the band overstaying
their welcome with a reunion tour.
The Spice Girls At the height of the Spice Girl s fame, the Spice Girls sold 85 million records and
starred in a movie inspired by their lives, Spice World. Their skimpy clothes, outlandish antics, and
sometimes racy lyrics ushered in an era of pop music dominated by girl groups that continues today
with artists like Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Their female positive message, summarized in the slogan
girl power, became a rallying cry for teenage girls and young women in the late 90s.
Spice Girl fans of the world unite! Dig out your platform shoes and wild print pants. Just skip the
ponytail thong and pencil thin eyebrows. Not even the Spice Girls could pull off that look.

Maslow s Theory Of Moral Development
Moral Development What it means to take a life span perspective when considering human
development, on the topic of moral development, is that in order to understand the changes and
progression of a person s moral development you have to take in the account that moral development
occurs as a result of all the different aspects of life that can promote change, such as social
interactions, socioeconomic status, and genetics. The life span perspective uses a multidimensional
framework in order to describe moral development throughout a person s life. The framework consists
of 4 assumptions, development is lifelong, multidirectional and multidimensional, highly plastic, and
affected by multiple, interacting forces. There is a lot of evidence that focuses on moral development
as a life long process that develops throughout a person s life and changes based on a variety of
factors. The first is Kohlberg s theory of moral development. Inspired by early work of Piaget on
moral judgment, Kohlberg set out to develop a more comprehensive cognitive understanding of moral
development. Kohlberg used with clinical interviewing procedure in which he presented a sample 10
to 16 year old boys with hypothetical moral dilemmas presenting in the conflict between two moral
values and asked them what the main actor should do and why. ? Real life moral dilemmas often help
to highlight the role of emotion in moral judgment. Then he followed the participants longitudinally,

with her mother, they have many fights but then at the end they love each other. Eagan is sixteen years
old and has a boyfriend. They are both caring people who are outgoing and very confident in

My Best Friend s Generation
As a Computers and Information Technology major, it is not at all hard to find some professional from
my field, nevertheless asking for their time to interview them gets really complicated as time certainly
is a scarce resource and furthermore, IT management field is one of the more complex ones. I already
had my best friend s older brother in mind for the integration paper so the first half of my initializing
step was sorted, however the other half wasn t even a tad bit easy as it seemed. Getting him to be
interviewed by setting up an ideal time and having a detailed conversation undoubtedly took a while
but it eventually had a meaningful output. After thoroughly analyzing my course content, I came up
with some lessons that really appealed to me and I thought would have a significant impact on my
potential professional life. Starting with the most interesting one, flexibility is the responsiveness of an
individual to any kind of change. This seems the most important because of the fact that nothing in our
universe is constant. Each and every factor or element tends to alter with time no matter what they are.
For an instance, in an unquestionable way, even science agrees with the theory of human evolution
conveying that how humans evolved from apes. Same applies to the world of businesses in the current
era. For the past quarter century, humans have experienced tremendous amount of technological
growth with gadgets from super computers, box televisions,

Rock n Hip, Hop n Roll, and the Integration of Music in Popular Culture
Prelude
From bell bottoms to Barbies, every generation has its own distinct trends. While various fads have
cropped up in each era, music has always been a key element of culture. Starting in the 1950 s, music
became integrated within the American culture as the favored form of expression. The popular types
of music found on the Top 100 lists today however, have changed dramatically since then. What has
promoted this obvious change in music choice? While rock n roll still holds its own in the music
billboards of 2010, the general public now prefers the mechanical sounds of hip hop and ... Show

Most songs told of lovers, yearning for each other in some type of sense. This theme reflects the
attitudes of teenagers in the 1950 s, as this was the first generation people were allowed to marry for
love. Women had more freedom to travel into the workplace and finally be on equal grounds with their
husbands. Husbands did not have to leave their wives for war. Children had more autonomy as parents
no longer dictated who and when they were going to love. However, as this freedom was increasingly
integrated into American culture over time, the amount of love related songs dramatically dropped. In
1966, only 69.5% of produced songs were about love and courtship (Carey 723). Rock n roll provided
the perfect form of expression in the 1950 s. It combined lyrical ties to radical social changes and
catchy rhythms unique to its generation.
What s Hip Now? The change tearing through America in the 1950 s persists to this day. 2010 has
brought a busier, more materialistic, culture than ever before. The trends of women working outside of
the home and increasing teenage autonomy persists. American teenagers are given more discretionary
time than ever before in history. Reed Larson studied this continuing trend and explains, If we look
back over the past 200 years, the most striking historic change in young people s use of time is that
youths spend much less time on labor activities today than they did in America s agrarian past (160).
Some teenagers use

How Does Shakespeare Use Deception In Hamlet
Throughout Shakespeare s writing, he is well known for using deception in his plays between the
characters on stage. This can be observed specifically in one of his major plays, Hamlet, Prince of
Denmark, as a major theme throughout the theoretical work of appearance vs reality. In the play,
characters such as Claudius, Polonius, and Laertes take advantage of the other characters delusions to
their own benefit, leading them to believe something that isn t true. Of the characters in the novel, the
use of deception is most prominently used by Claudius more than anyone else. The strongest use of
his slyness, is towards the citizens of Denmark and is represented though the line Yet so far hath

Essay on Computer Hardware Engineering
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. As Arthur C. Clark, a British

detail oriented nature. Through their work, computer hardware engineers get a wide range of

However, as the story keeps going Bartleby refused to do anything. When asked to do something his

The Pros And Cons Of The MMR Vaccine
Introduction The MMR vaccine was designed to make the individual it was given to have a immunity
or resistance to the following diseases; mumps, measles, and rubella. Over the years however, the
number of people who had measles skyrocketed after it reached near extinction in 2000.1 Similar to
this, the cases of the mumps disease have also risen in the past five years. However, it is not as much
due to lack of vaccination, but more to being less effective in specific situations.2 Unlike these two
diseases, the rates of rubella has gone down in the U.S. to about ten people per year.3 For the most
part, these diseases cause cough, sore throat, itchy eyes and more. However, they each cause specific
complications that can result in death. Since these diseases are still common today and affect the
health of not only themselves, but the rest of the population, people are debating if the MMR vaccine
should be required. Though this has always been a debate, it has resurfaced after recent outbreaks of
specifically mumps and measles throughout America.
General Health: Measles Out of all the three diseases that the MMR vaccine builds immunization for,
it is least effective for measles. Measles is a disease that is transmitted through saliva and can be
active in water droplets in the air and on surfaces for hours after.4 Because of this, it spreads easily
from person to person because the infected patient does not have to be touching anyone else to
transmit the disease. Examples of this recently can be found in California and amongst the Amish
community. To begin with, an amusement park in California had an outbreak of measles in 2015.
Though the cause is unknown, it is generally believed that someone traveling from another country
first brought the disease and then it spread to others who may have touched or breathed in droplets of
his salive.2 From here, the infected people spread the disease until people were being affected
throughout the whole state as well as in some sections of Oregon.1 Another case of something similar
happening can be found in the Amish communities. In 2016, a total of 383 Amish were officially
diagnosed with the measles mainly due to their beliefes in not being vaccinated.2 After

has gotten worse and worse every year, and I know that in the U.S. it is both a health problem and a
crime problem. But I feel like that we should treat the abuse of illegal drugs as a matter of public

This predicament, after all, has been sufficiently glamorized on screen and in Romantic poetry. The
rub, however, is that before long this quest turns into a full time occupation, with your need for an
alternative coming to match a drug addict s daily fix. (pg.2) Listening to Boredom
What interests me is that all these teenagers and adults all probably said before becoming drug abusers
was yeah ill just try it once but ended up using more than once. The reason I find this interesting is
because it shows how someone is slowly becoming an addict, they say they re only going to do it
once, then that turns into only one more time ill do it and so on. Thus our economy and society have to
depend upon the constant cultivation of new needs the production of new desires. That just goes to
show what effect drugs can have on your health after one time because obviously your mind and body
is starting to develop a need for these drugs to keep you happy which takes a toll on a person. In the
article Use Becomes Abuse and Abuse Becomes Addiction by David Sheriff, he said experimenting
means you try something two or three times. Anything more than that is using. (pg.78)
Focusing on drug abuse as a public health issue is also good because the more we focus on getting
people off drugs the less people we have to worry about over dosing. This is good

Ragamuffin Gospel Reflection
I have read 100% of the book in the past and 75% this time (some skimming).
What I enjoy most/least about the text. This is the second time I have read The Ragamuffin Gospel by
Brennan Manning (2005), and I still feel like it is a must read for any Christian. The first time I read
this book I remember being awed by God s Grace for ragamuffins and how that relates to my
interactions with people; when I showed God s grace, and when I did not. I still remember specific
times when God reminded me how much he loved the broken and how I could be his hand outreached
by being Jesus with skin on . I also remember specific times when I knew God was directing me to
love on someone, and I for one reason or another, I did not. The first time I read Manning s book, I fell
more in love with people because it helped get a glimpse of how much God loved a ragamuffin. Now
that I am older and life has been harder, I read Manning s book in a different light. Unlike the first
time, where I was reminded how much God loves others; this time it reminds me how much God loves
me! Even though my faith has faltered, and I have had series of doubts and struggles with trust, God
sill loves me. While reading the same words I did several years ago I am seeing things differently.
What I learned. During the past year, I have been doing a great deal of stretching . I have sought out

Description: Following the first public appearance of film in 1896 in London, England there were
numerous issues that arose; public safety and the content within films came to the forefront of public
concern. This led to local authorities such as The London City Council (LCC) possessing the authority
to decide all regulations and rules of film. This was the first form of censorship as we see these local
officials being able to ban films and later on decide what was morally acceptable within film. In

Step b: The annotation including word count:
Brown, the author of this specific chapter does an in depth coverage of the historical origins of the
British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). This chapter mainly dealt with the numerous conflicts
that the BBFC encountered during the silent era. The board was constantly challenged by groups such
as the London City Council (LCC) because of their firm belief that censorship should be within their
hands. Despite this the BBFC gained more legitimacy and control by 1924 following the necessary
interventions from the Home Office of England. Despite this Brown argues that the councils continued
to initiate disputes and in reality the BBFC faced even more issues surrounding morality. Even though
this book s central topic is the BBFC, it includes a substantial amount of coverage on the presence of
local authorities. The examples of each conflict between both groups supports my thesis since it
illustrates how key the role, local authorities play. Brown stresses the importance of the conflicts that
shaped the BBFC and how the board s battle for acceptance was underpinned by the moral concerns of
local authorities.

Reason For European Imperialism
Imperialism, a policy in which one country seeks authority over another country by economic and
political domination. The Europeans at this time in history, were looking for resources and something
to help them show their national pride; the best way to do that was to imperialize different countries.
Africa, which was not industrialized, was seen as not capable to lead themselves into modernization.
The europeans as well as many other countries began to seek land in the divided, war filled country.
The reasons for europeans seeking imperialism is because of the strive for natural resources, the need
to show national pride, and thoughts upon racism.
In imperialism, natural resources where a large driving cause to the spread of authority all ... Show

An empire such as Britain requires an imperial race (Primrose). People from all over saw how
different people and cultures came from all over the world which create hate and a variety of
disapproval for others. African people were seen as hated, uncivilized people only because, they had
so many different cultures and different ways of living. If Africa was to be industrialized before other
countries came it would have been seen as a land that is respected because the people who live in it
are capable of industrialization. But because the land was not industrialized before imperialism racism
became a strong attacking point upon the uncivilized. France went with a fully developed race into
territories marked by barbarism and people who cannot develop their own land (Merlin). France in
this description sees themselves as superior to the Africans because, they do not have fighting within
their country and they are industrialized. Without their ability to come together as a country and grow
an economy France would be another Africa. Racism drove France to come to Africa and show their
superiority over them. Racism was a large reason for imperialism.
Africa was a resource rich, divided, different country. Every country that took a part in Africa s
imperialism saw this matter and took advantage. If Africa had time to figure out how to develop an
economy, unify with each other, and industrialize itself; imperialism from other countries would

The reason for this is because to be put into traditional media, often, there are monetary values
attached, making it hard for some groups ideas to compete regardless of how good they are. The
counter argument for this is often that digital media and citizen journalism can be used to spread false
propaganda (as anyone can do it and there are no regulations), but so can traditional forms of media.
Traditional media is often set to frame and prime us. For example, channels supported troops going to
Iraq, and brought in candidates on television to speak about how great this war would be for the US,
but they failed to speak of the casualties associated with the war. Media is likely to advertise or give
screen time to what they think the public will find interesting to raise ratings, with little regard as to
whether they may be misleading. Digital media and citizen journalism do not have incentives attached
to it for which people would genuinely try to mislead others. They may even help balance the one
sided stories that traditional media sometimes tell us. They can help spread the truth. Just as people
have to decide what they believe with respect to traditional media, they have to do the same with
digital media and citizen journalism. A marketplace of ideas should be inclusive of all ideas and the

The Battle Of The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Tablet IV tells the story of Gilgamesh and Enkidu partaking in their adventure to the edge of the Cedar
Forest, and their encounter with a guard, an enemy. Throughout this battle, Gilgamesh loses faith in
the couples ability to defeat the guard but is ultimately talked back into his heroic mindset by The
Gods. In column VI, having just defeated the guard, Enkidu then finds himself in a similar situation to
Gilgamesh, whereby he doubts their ability to defeat Humbaba, and it comes down to Gilgamesh, and
his leadership to reiterate the ongoing theme of companionship in order to convince Enkidu to
continue fighting in order to finish the battle. The theme of the inevitability of death is also shown
throughout this column, with Enkidu s injury being a clear indication of what is undoubtedly going to
happen later in the poem. Column VI of the Epic of Gilgamesh begins with Enkidu seeking
reassurance and support from Gilgamesh in the lack of a God s presence. This reiterates the theme of
companionship that is coherent throughout the poem and conforms to the epic hero cycle of being
accompanied by a companion. Enkidu is injured and informs Gilgamesh I lost my strength in this

Causes Of Confucianism In China
China faced many weaknesses in the wake of Western civilization. One of the problems that the
Chinese culture faced peasant uprisings were frequent throughout China. When
Confucianism was strong, instability still broke out in China. Peasant uprisings were a common thing
throughout China. The successful revolts were given justification because it was assumed that they
had been justified against bad rulers who had broken the Confucian social contract. One of the most
violent challenges to Confucian values were capitalist modernity and
Christianity, which were the introduction western systems in the nineteenth century. The arrival of
western imperialists and their belief system was a catalyst for the Chinese to look at their own society
and its faults. Many Chinese people were poor and did not rise up against their fate.
Many women in China were oppressed physically, by being treated as social inferiors and being
deprived of a good education. Women were also oppressed physically by having their feet bound
small. Western barbarians posed a threat to the Chinese government because they were able to come to
China and invade with impunity. Many radical thinkers believe that the only reasonable response to
the chaos in China was to declare that Confucian ideas and values were responsible for the crisis in
China. The Confucian past in China had corrupted the Chinese government and exterminated Chinse
culture and society from Western civilization.

Double burden of malnutrition in India
Double burden of malnutrition in India Undernutrition and Overnutrition
Introduction
The nutritional double burden, encompassing both undernutrition (stunting, underweight and wasting)
and overnutrition (overweight and obesity), has become an important public health challenge in many
developing countries. Globally, an estimated 99 million under five year olds were underweight in
2012, with the low and middle income countries of Asia accounting for more than 70 percent of these
undernourished children (WHO, 2012a). Although many developing countries have achieved
significant reductions in the prevalence of undernutrition during the past two decades, the pace of
decline was slow and insufficient to meet the Millennium Development Goals ... Show more content

Therefore, it is important that the issues of nutritional double burden in many developing countries
need to be addressed in the context of socioeconomic status. This could help identify the complex
interplay of social, economic, and political determinants of undernutrition and overnutrition.
Many developing countries are growing economically, and it can be expected that the prevalence of
undernutrition would decrease and obesity would become a problem among wealthy and privileged
classes. However, research has shown that obesity and associated non communicable diseases(NCDs)
are increasingly affecting all sectors of society, and the poor or disadvantaged are more likely to be
vulnerable to these health hazards (Khandelwal et al., 2013). Also, it can be seen that many
developing countries are still incapable of dealing with these health challenges of nutritional double
burden, therefore in order to minimize adverse nutritional outcomes, there need to be a reconsideration
of current policies and further understanding of these health challenges.
Prevalence and consequences of nutritional conditions in India
India is one of the developing countries which are experiencing multiple transitions in its nutritional
pattern along with a rapid socioeconomic development. The pace of poverty reduction in India has
been accelerating during the last ten years, but over 50 percent of the population in India is still

Treaty Of Versailles Essay
The Versailles treaty was the peace settlement between Germany and the Allied powers that eventually
ended world war one. Even Though it ended this war the treaty of Versailles was hated by many
American and Germany. Germany made many threats to the Allied powers. The passing of the Treaty
of Versailles resulted in unpopular backlash from both Germany and America. France, Italy, Britain
and the U.S. met at the Capitol to talk about the terms of peace for the post war. Germany thought this
was unfair due to the fact they were not able to attend this talk. The Allied powers told Germany to
just sign the treaty and they did not need to know what it was about. Germans refused to sign this
treaty and some talked about going back to war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These men were, David Lloyd George from the UK, Georges Clemenceau from France, and Woodrow
Wilson from the U.S. These men ignored Germanys complaints they sent back about the Versailles
treaty. These three men were complicated and hard to work work with. According to Chris truman,
David Lloyd George had two view on how Germany should be treated. If George showed any signs of
weakness towards Germany he would have quickly been voted out of office. Hang the Kaiser and
make Germany pay were two very common quotes in the time of the versailles treaty. George was
concerned about communism rising in Russia and had thoughts that it might spread to western Europe.
George felt that Germany was the only thing that could stop communism if it spread into Russia.
Georges Clemenceau says Germany should be brought to its knees so she can never start war again.
The is his only view according to Chris Truman. Woodrow Wilson had been shocked by the
devastation from the Great War. Wilson wanted to leave Europe to its on and to concentrate on U.S.
instead of worrying about everyone else. He wanted to keep all input in and out of Russia to a
minimum. The Treaty of Versailles was a very unfair document towards Germany. According to Mike
Dowling, the treaty had taken away Germany s overseas colonies and their coal source. Germany
could not build large ships and their army was a joke.

  • 7. God Father Symbolism The 1930 s and 40 s were a famous time for gangsters, mobs and mafias. The God Father directed by Francis Ford Coppola and written by Mario Puzo focuses on this era. Gangster genre films always seem to have dark colors and low lighting, usually an urban city location and outfitting is formal, props in these films are guns, cigars/cigarettes, drugs and money. Everything is put in a film for a reason and all these elements combine to create a typical gangster setting. But, The God Father was not a typical gangster film. Mario Puzo used many, if not all of these elements but he refined the gangster genre using intricate editing techinques. In the first scene at his daughters wedding, Bonasera asks Don Carleone to avenge his daughters assaliant. The lighting in this scene was dark and the camera angles high and low symbolizing who had the most power. It worked for this particluar scene because they were doing a back door dealing and also showed us how Don Carleone was looked up to and respected by others. The film is set in 1940 s New York, Don Corleone and his men are always seen in formal wear, and Corleone had a cigar in a number of scenes although we dont see stacks of money all the time it is shown to us indirectly when we see his mansion and expensive cars and fancy dinners. According to Sherry Turkle s book Alone Together, a vast majority of teens also use it to create a name for themselves and to pretend to be someone else; someone they want to be. However, in analyzing my social media, it was very difficult to find any trace of what kind of character I was attempting to portray. One similarity that I can see between Turkle s analysis of social media and my personal account is that my account does portray a type of person that I aspire to be. Online, I am in some unconscious way making a name for myself, but the problem arises when there are no differences between my social media self and my real self. Online I portray myself as a chill, relaxed person and my Facebook reflects that very well. I am not here to impress anybody and I do not share anything for any other reason besides the fact that I enjoyed that thing. I post when I feel I need to yet looking deeper into my likes and shares there are some small, significant patterns between what I like and how it affects my image. Analyzing my social media account, I found that I generally use a calm, realistic tone to give the impression that I am a real relaxed, dust in the wind kind of guy. I don t care to change my profile picture and haven t changed it since 8th grade. Even most of what I like and/or share has no specific agenda, it s just simply what I find interesting or funny. On top of that, I haven t even shared anything in about ten months and the only things I like are things that my family shares with me or tags me in. I have not physically posted an update of my life or anything in five years only because I don t feel the need to. For example, the last text post that I made was on my birthday in 2013, when I thanked everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Even reading through my recent shares, I ve come to realize that I do not intend to portray myself in any different way other than what I am. • 15. Maslow s Theory Of Moral Development Moral Development What it means to take a life span perspective when considering human development, on the topic of moral development, is that in order to understand the changes and progression of a person s moral development you have to take in the account that moral development occurs as a result of all the different aspects of life that can promote change, such as social interactions, socioeconomic status, and genetics. The life span perspective uses a multidimensional framework in order to describe moral development throughout a person s life. The framework consists of 4 assumptions, development is lifelong, multidirectional and multidimensional, highly plastic, and affected by multiple, interacting forces. There is a lot of evidence that focuses on moral development as a life long process that develops throughout a person s life and changes based on a variety of factors. The first is Kohlberg s theory of moral development. Inspired by early work of Piaget on moral judgment, Kohlberg set out to develop a more comprehensive cognitive understanding of moral development. Kohlberg used with clinical interviewing procedure in which he presented a sample 10 to 16 year old boys with hypothetical moral dilemmas presenting in the conflict between two moral values and asked them what the main actor should do and why. ? • 30. The Pros And Cons Of The MMR Vaccine Introduction The MMR vaccine was designed to make the individual it was given to have a immunity or resistance to the following diseases; mumps, measles, and rubella. Over the years however, the number of people who had measles skyrocketed after it reached near extinction in 2000.1 Similar to this, the cases of the mumps disease have also risen in the past five years. However, it is not as much due to lack of vaccination, but more to being less effective in specific situations.2 Unlike these two diseases, the rates of rubella has gone down in the U.S. to about ten people per year.3 For the most part, these diseases cause cough, sore throat, itchy eyes and more. However, they each cause specific complications that can result in death. Since these diseases are still common today and affect the health of not only themselves, but the rest of the population, people are debating if the MMR vaccine should be required. Though this has always been a debate, it has resurfaced after recent outbreaks of specifically mumps and measles throughout America. General Health: Measles Out of all the three diseases that the MMR vaccine builds immunization for, it is least effective for measles. Measles is a disease that is transmitted through saliva and can be active in water droplets in the air and on surfaces for hours after.4 Because of this, it spreads easily from person to person because the infected patient does not have to be touching anyone else to transmit the disease. Examples of this recently can be found in California and amongst the Amish community. To begin with, an amusement park in California had an outbreak of measles in 2015. Though the cause is unknown, it is generally believed that someone traveling from another country first brought the disease and then it spread to others who may have touched or breathed in droplets of his salive.2 From here, the infected people spread the disease until people were being affected throughout the whole state as well as in some sections of Oregon.1 Another case of something similar happening can be found in the Amish communities. In 2016, a total of 383 Amish were officially diagnosed with the measles mainly due to their beliefes in not being vaccinated.2 After ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Glenn Greenwald. The use of drugs through out the United States has gotten worse and worse every year, and I know that in the U.S. it is both a health problem and a crime problem. But I feel like that we should treat the abuse of illegal drugs as a matter of public health. This predicament, after all, has been sufficiently glamorized on screen and in Romantic poetry. The rub, however, is that before long this quest turns into a full time occupation, with your need for an alternative coming to match a drug addict s daily fix. (pg.2) Listening to Boredom What interests me is that all these teenagers and adults all probably said before becoming drug abusers was yeah ill just try it once but ended up using more than once. The reason I find this interesting is because it shows how someone is slowly becoming an addict, they say they re only going to do it once, then that turns into only one more time ill do it and so on. Thus our economy and society have to depend upon the constant cultivation of new needs the production of new desires. That just goes to show what effect drugs can have on your health after one time because obviously your mind and body is starting to develop a need for these drugs to keep you happy which takes a toll on a person. In the article Use Becomes Abuse and Abuse Becomes Addiction by David Sheriff, he said experimenting means you try something two or three times. Anything more than that is using. The first time I read this book I remember being awed by God s Grace for ragamuffins and how that relates to my interactions with people; when I showed God s grace, and when I did not. I still remember specific times when God reminded me how much he loved the broken and how I could be his hand outreached by being Jesus with skin on . I also remember specific times when I knew God was directing me to love on someone, and I for one reason or another, I did not. The first time I read Manning s book, I fell more in love with people because it helped get a glimpse of how much God loved a ragamuffin. Now that I am older and life has been harder, I read Manning s book in a different light. This led to local authorities such as The London City Council (LCC) possessing the authority to decide all regulations and rules of film. This was the first form of censorship as we see these local officials being able to ban films and later on decide what was morally acceptable within film. Step b: The annotation including word count: Brown, the author of this specific chapter does an in depth coverage of the historical origins of the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). This chapter mainly dealt with the numerous conflicts that the BBFC encountered during the silent era. The board was constantly challenged by groups such as the London City Council (LCC) because of their firm belief that censorship should be within their hands. Despite this the BBFC gained more legitimacy and control by 1924 following the necessary interventions from the Home Office of England. Despite this Brown argues that the councils continued to initiate disputes and in reality the BBFC faced even more issues surrounding morality. Even though this book s central topic is the BBFC, it includes a substantial amount of coverage on the presence of local authorities. The examples of each conflict between both groups supports my thesis since it illustrates how key the role, local authorities play. Brown stresses the importance of the conflicts that shaped the BBFC and how the board s battle for acceptance was underpinned by the moral concerns of local authorities. ... The Europeans at this time in history, were looking for resources and something to help them show their national pride; the best way to do that was to imperialize different countries. Africa, which was not industrialized, was seen as not capable to lead themselves into modernization. The europeans as well as many other countries began to seek land in the divided, war filled country. If Africa was to be industrialized before other countries came it would have been seen as a land that is respected because the people who live in it are capable of industrialization. But because the land was not industrialized before imperialism racism became a strong attacking point upon the uncivilized. France went with a fully developed race into territories marked by barbarism and people who cannot develop their own land (Merlin). France in this description sees themselves as superior to the Africans because, they do not have fighting within their country and they are industrialized. Without their ability to come together as a country and grow an economy France would be another Africa. Racism drove France to come to Africa and show their superiority over them. Racism was a large reason for imperialism. Africa was a resource rich, divided, different country. Every country that took a part in Africa s imperialism saw this matter and took advantage. The counter argument for this is often that digital media and citizen journalism can be used to spread false propaganda (as anyone can do it and there are no regulations), but so can traditional forms of media. Traditional media is often set to frame and prime us. For example, channels supported troops going to Iraq, and brought in candidates on television to speak about how great this war would be for the US, but they failed to speak of the casualties associated with the war. Media is likely to advertise or give screen time to what they think the public will find interesting to raise ratings, with little regard as to whether they may be misleading. Digital media and citizen journalism do not have incentives attached to it for which people would genuinely try to mislead others. They may even help balance the one sided stories that traditional media sometimes tell us. They can help spread the truth. In column VI, having just defeated the guard, Enkidu then finds himself in a similar situation to Gilgamesh, whereby he doubts their ability to defeat Humbaba, and it comes down to Gilgamesh, and his leadership to reiterate the ongoing theme of companionship in order to convince Enkidu to continue fighting in order to finish the battle.
