Aquarius Constellation Research Paper
My favourite costellation is the Aquarius constellation, which is in the Southern Hemisphere during
the spring, while in the Northern Hemisphere during the fall. This is my favourite constellation
because to me, it is the most beautiful and is one of the most important backgrounds. In my personal
opinion, it also has the most meaning to it. The term Aquarius means Water Bearer or Cup Bearer in
Latin.
In Greek myth, there was a young man named Ganymede, who was a prince of Troy. He was
supposedy extremely handsome, and in this way, caught Zeus eye. This is where the story splits into
many versions, but I ll be covering my favourite. Once Ganymede was carried to Olympus by Zeus in
eagle form, who had decided to make Ganymede his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, a young peasant woman with no special traits except for a beautiful voice, caught the eye of
Aphrodite herself. Aphrodite, who had been watching the youngling for the simple beauty of her
voice, wondered if she was her child, or a grandchild, and one day approaced the young woman. The
young woman s name was Catalina, and was curious about the goddess who stood before her. She
respectfully bowed. Catalina was selfless for everything except for one thing her beauty. She wished
to be the prettiest woman in the world. Aphrodite sensed this and devised a plan. If you collect me an
apple of immortality from the Hesperides, then I shall grant you eternal beauty. Be warned: If you are
to fall in love on this journey, then you will not be granted this, Aphrodite warned, but Catalina shook
her head, desperate. So, she venturered far and wide to find the Garden of the Hesperides. One day,
after many days of veturing, she found it, and only barely made it past Ladon. She snagged an apple
and ran, only to hear someone screaming and grunting in pain. She eventually found Atlas, the titan
cursed to hold up the sky. She grabbed a golden cup and squeezed the golden apple s insides nto the
cup, mixing it into he water. She poured it into Atlas wounds and gave him the rest to drink, healing
him efficiently. He drank it, and in the process, Catalina fell in love with the man. Aphrodite appeared,
and shamed her for falling in love, as she would no longer have the gift of beauty. I don t care, as long
as I may stay here with my love forever, Catalina said, amd Aphrodite smiled. You passed the test.

Catalina was enveloped in golden light, becoming the most beautiful woman in the Earth. And, in her

International Adoption Crisis Should Not Be A Viable Adoption
International Adoption Crisis
The image of an American family has changed dramatically over the last fifty years. American
families are no longer modeled after the Cleavers. International adoption has contributed to this
changing family view, bringing in children who are not biologically related to their parents and often
of a different race. This new American image has helped eliminate race related issues. So, what is the
controversy with international adoption? Children are the future of a country; children are human
resources. If a country is losing their children to international adoption; the county is losing the gifts
and talents that are irreplaceable in those children. Intercountry adoption should not be a viable
adoption source because this process does not adequately benefit those involved, international
adoption exploits poor children and hurts their countries of origin. International adoption takes
children out of their countries, and this can lead to the risk of alienating children. Parents that adopt
foreign children may be ill equipped or uneducated in their adopted child s culture and this can steer
the loss of the child s cultural identity. Culturally, we pass on our values and beliefs through our
family structure; our heritage is part of our identity. People who are raised in another country could
miss out on learning about their ethnic heritage. Medical writer Meg Brannagan claims internationally
adopted children question where their place is in a

What Is Tim s Reaction To The Soldier In The Spring Of 1775
In the Spring of 1775 Tim s brother Sam returns home from college. When asked about his trip, his
response was criticized as Sam was patriot unlike his Father. Sam got into an heated argument that
night he came back. The following day, Sam told Tim about his plan to steal the only gun his family
had. Tim is also questioned about what side of the war he supports. Tim has great difficulty picking a
side to support, and ultimately doesn t answer. Sam soon leaves home, to fight in the war. After
several months, Tim was notified by Betsy that Sam had came back. Not long after rebel soldiers
come into the house demanding for the gun, which Sam has (as they soon figured out). After some

Rewarding Transformational Leadership and Active...
The results of the study suggested that rewarding transformational leadership and active management
by exception functioned as protecting factors. It also pointed to passive laissez faire leadership as an
exposing factor in terms of burnout among nursing staff. One of the limitations to the study is that data
was gathered using self administered measures; with no objective measures used to assess leadership
and burnout. The data was also cross sectional in nature therefore conclusions cannot be drawn
regarding the direction of casualty among multidimensional leadership and burnout. A research study
was conducted by Patrick Lavery (2007), to compare the level s of burnout in Victorian nurses against
normative data, and to assess the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results of the focused interview revealed that the major stress related factors in the ICUs pointed
to: shortages of knowledgeable nurses, absenteeism, doctors demands, and lack of support from
management as well as colleagues, and the stress caused by temporary nurses acquired from the
agencies. Recommendations were made towards nursing unit management, further nursing research,
and nursing education. The limitations to this study are that the female participants are in the majority
compared to the male participants and the sample size was rather limited in number, which limits the
potential to generalize the results of this research. Ounder Basim surveyed 248 nurses from five
hospitals in turkey in 2007 to identify the occupational burnout profiles of a sample of nurses, and to
examine alternative developmental models based on these profiles. The Maslach Burnout Inventory
was used to collect burnout data, and the Job descriptive index was used to measure satisfaction with
coworkers and supervisors. The results of the study revealed that a higher level of emotional
exhaustion was invariably associated with higher level of depersonalization. However, higher
emotional exhaustion or depersonalization is not always associated with lower accomplishment. It was
concluded that hospital managers should be watchful for emotional exhaustion rather than
depersonalization or perceptions of personal

ISO 9001 is a universal quality management standard that sets requirements for quality management
systems and can be adopted by organizations in any industry and of any size. It helps the organization
which use it achieve customer satisfaction through efficient processes [ISO, 2015]. ISO 9001: 2015 is

Figure 2.0 Flowchart for implementing ISO 9001: 2015
2.1 Flowchart analysis:
Implementing ISO 9001 QMS in an organization begins with the decision to establish the QMS
having appraised the organization. The next step is to get the management involved and committed to
the cause after which an implementation team is setup to manage the process. Most often after this
stage, the management backs off leaving the responsibilities to the implementation team alone causing
challenges in the implementation.
The implementation team then checks the context of the organization against the customer
requirements and defines the organization s quality management standard (QMS) from there. An
awareness campaign is done to inform everyone in the organization about the QMS implementation
and then staff are trained to meet the requirements. Roles are assigned and an operations plan is then
created. At this stage, the process plan is documented and then process is carried on.
An internal audit takes place to check the conformance of the process and products to standards. The
results of the audit are put up for management review and then corrections are made where needed.
External audits also take place and then customer feedback is harvested and put in place for

Poetry Analysis for Sunshine by Matisyahu

Caitlan Drury
Poetry Analysis for Sunshine By Matisyahu Many songs use different literary devices to communicate
a message out to the audience. One of those songs is Sunshine by Matisyahu, which displays
symbolism, imagery, figures of speech, tone, and theme. Others might not enjoy the song because it
gives mixed signals. Although that is true, there are much more reasons to why someone would enjoy
it. Sunshine by Matisyahu is an effective song because the artist uses a potpourri of literary terms to
present his meaning to the audience. Matisyahu uses symbolism to define the deeper meaning of never
giving up in his song. In Sunshine , the artist says, You re my golden sunshine , which symbolizes the
center of happiness in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Never meant to leave you all alone, said I d be your shelter from the storm, now your clothes have all
been torn, kingdom sacked, attacked, and dethroned . Verse two shows that there were some problems
in the artist s life and that he had lost what was important to him, but repeats the chorus after every
verse to show that even though he had some falls, he still got back up to conquer his goal. The theme
of the song is very significant because it shows the audience to never give up. Sunshine by Matisyahu
is a great song, although many people might not agree. Many people might not enjoy the song
Sunshine by Matisyahu because it gives mixed signals and does not make sense in some parts of it.
Keep on moving to the first rays of dawn, keeping it on til the day stays strong, keepin til the night

. This first verse is remarkably jumbled and confusing a person could dislike this song all because of
it. What does This phase is always, sometimes I get so crazed mean? That verse starts the song and the
audience would not understand what is being said. What does the artist mean? Or maybe the chorus is
just repeated a bit too much, which makes the song annoying for the audience. Yes, these arguments
are reasonable, but they are not true. Some of the audience might not enjoy Sunshine , but it is still a

Ap Psychology Chapter 3 Summary
Serena Rodriguez PSY 215 03 01/30/2018 Chapter 3: Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment
1. What is the purpose of psychological assessment? The purpose of psychological assessment is to
figure out whether an individual exhibits abnormal behavior, what symptoms they have, why they are
demonstrating that behavior, and it there is a way to assist the individual. There are several
psychological or clinical tools that psychologists use to determine someone s abnormal behavior.
These tests include observations, tests, and clinical interviews. For a psychological assessment, the
tool used must be standardized, reliable, and valid. This means that when a particular assessment is
administered there must be certain procedures followed as well as set ways to interpret results. When
referring to the assessment s reliability, clinicians mean ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Capital Punishment Is The Ultimate Punishment
Have you ever thought of the person next to you is a killer or a rapist? If he is, what would you want
from the government if he had killed someone you know? He should receive the capital punishment.
The capital punishment is the ultimate punishment given to the precarious crimes. It is the last stage of
capital punishment. There are different methods of like hanging, electric chair, lethal injection, firing
squad, gas chamber. Murderers and rapist should be given extreme punishment, and they have to pay
for their wrongdoing. We can observe crime rates are accelerating day by day. The government should
enforce such laws to create a high alert around the society and endorse a secure ruling to its people.
But before talking about the essential role of a death penalty, we have to think about the meaning and
purpose of any punishment. According to Muhlhausen, 67% of American favor the death for these
convicted of murder, while 28 percent are opposed, which shows that there are still more people who
believe that capital punishment is the best way to reduce the crime rates. Capital punishment is the
best answer to murder and final warning which all that would be criminals fear. Similarly, it helps to
solve the overcrowding problems and provide closure for victims. Criminals fear death penalty so it
can be a final warning so that we can solve overcrowding problems and provide closure for victims.
Capital punishment is the ultimate warning. Every person in the world has a common

Low Cost Counseling Benefits
Many individuals and/or couples would like to go to counseling, but, in today s economy, it may not
be possible because of the expense. I will give you an idea of what to expect as far as costs go.
Free or Very Low Cost
Often times you can actually find free or low cost counseling at universities and/or churches, but there
may not be many choices.
Graduate school counseling programs You will need to get out your phonebook and/or look on the
internet for local universities. Call them, ask if they have a graduate counseling department, and ask if
they have graduate students who will counsel for free or for a reduced fee. These graduate counselors
are almost always supervised by a licensed counselor.
Churches Also, look up some area churches, call them, and ask if they have counseling. Sometimes
the church will only offer counseling to members, but many offer counseling to the community. Many
times you do not have to share their same beliefs and they often have excellent classes and/or
programs for relationship and individual improvement as well. Many churches do not charge anything,
but some may charge a small amount. These counselors are usually not licensed by the state, but some
churches do have licensed counselors. The church counselors may be certified in a particular type of
counseling and some are not.

you might be smart to proceeded with caution and ask a lot of questions before paying. The fees for

about $30. You can sometimes buy packages which will make the individual email/question price
come down. Expect $40 $100+ for a 1 hour phone session or an online chat

Employee Compensation And Its Impact On The Organization...
Employers are adapting to the expectations of their employees as their performance is more crucial
than ever in our competitive business environments around the globe. Research has indicated that
motivated employees will have a direct impact on the organization s performance levels. By assessing
Goldman Sachs we will attempt to prove those conclusions. Their performance will be assessed by
various components of financial information based on the perspective that a company s responsible for
providing the most amount of money to their shareholders. Then looking into employee compensation,
benefits, and programs offered we can understand why the company has been recognized as one of the
best places to work. Depending on the results we will be able to argue or support the claims developed
by the research we have seen.
Recently employers have been doing their best to empower and satisfy their employees in an effort to
increase organizational performance. This appears to be sound logic, but can it be proved. Over the
long history of business, this has never been done before and companies have been able to perform
well and thrive, so why does this change need to occur? Golden Sachs has been a business for a long
time and has begun engaging in this practice. By assessing Goldman Sachs s performance and their
employee s opinions of the company we can determine if there is a relationship between motivated
employees and high organizational performance. Goldman Sachs is

Fourth and most interesting case, related with substance use disorders. DSM 5 perfectly explains it In
terms of a mal adaptive pattern of behaviors that are related to the continued use of drugs, in spite of
the fact that their use creates a set of significant problems for the person (Oltmanns Emery, 2015,

Background Information
In this case study our subject Mark, was born in a small town where the main source of income was
the local power plant. His mother worked at a department store in a nearby town and his father
performed night shifts at the plant. There is a history of alcohol abuse from Mark`s father although he
regularly attended AA meetings. There is no recollection of Mark ever tried illicit drugs as a teenager.

among adolescents, initial experimentation with drugs is most likely to occur among those individuals
who are rebellious and extroverted and whose parents and peers model or encourage use (Oltmanns
Emery, 2015, p303). This information might be confirmed by the fact that on his teenager years Mark
used one week s worth of pain medication in 3 days when he had extensive dental work.
The hardship of Mark with strong complications of dealing with classes in the local community
college, and the always demanding job adding to the everyday parental activities will increase the
already preexisting stress in Mark.
Description of the presenting problem

The U. S. And Turkey
Consequences the 2016 Coup brought to The U.S. and Turkey
Historically, relations between the United States and Turkey were formed through mutual respect and
interest. The first U.S. interaction dates to 1831, when the United States established diplomatic
relations with the Ottoman Empire (the U.S. Department of State) in 1831 through the formal act of
diplomatic recognition between the countries. The friendship was strengthened in the early 1900s as
the United States was elevated to Embassy status in 1906. During World War I, however, the U.S.
broke the neutrality and declared war against Germany, a prime ally of the Ottoman Empire for
Central Powers. This incident caused a severity in the diplomatic relations between the U.S. and the ...

However, the state of the contemporary relationship has been unstable through events and the rising
anti American sentiment among Turkish citizens. Despite the U.S. support to Turkey for the security
of the Middle East region and the corresponding benefits through the bilateral cooperation, the two
countries have currently been through several controversies.
As a safety measure toward the Islamic State, the growing presence of Muslim fundamentalism (ABC
Clio), the U.S. militarily has supported the Kurdish armed force in Syria, a minority ethnic group in
the Middle East, to counter against the IS. However, Turkey claimed that the armed force has a
connection to the Kurdistan Workers Party, which has is designated as a terrorist group by Turkey.
Despite the insistence of the country, the U.S. has not ceased the support, creating a split between the
two countries.
A coup attempted by the Peace Council, a faction of the Turkish army, was the most prime
precipitating event that led the contemporary relationship between the U.S and Turkey into a
confrontation. Since Erdogan inaugurated as the president, the approval rate was remarkably ever
increasing through the strong economic conditions. On the other hand, he strengthened the dictatorial
policy of Islamization in the country. Against the stance, the Turkish army believed in the importance
of the separation of religion and politics, thus the relationship with the

What Was The Events That Justified The United States Entry...
Introduction
When World War 1 started in 1914, United States president Woodrow Wilson promised non
participation of his country. The conflict appeared typical of the rottenness of old Europe which
favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable
events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss these events that justified the
United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when
making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. In addition, other available
options that should have been put into consideration will be explored.

These incidents combined with dwindling diplomatic relations between Germany and the United
States increased anti German preconception in America.
Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press
regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and
innocent civilians being killed infuriated and shocked the Americans. Although some of these stories
were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of instigating a strong anti
German sentiment.
The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor which influenced the decision for
America to participate in World War 1. American businessmen such as J.P. Morgan who were
interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US
Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central
Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious, the Allies
(France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk,
these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed
for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces.

Living A Happy And Simple Life
Do you think it is possible to live a happy and simple life? It is more than certainly possible to live a
life of bliss, even in a world with today s chaotic means. You do not need to be rich in order to live a
luxurious life, you could be the poorest person in the world but also the happiest. Social media is also
a very big aspect for humanity when it comes to happiness.
As stated in the introduction, you can be the poorest person in the world, yet happier than the richest
person. A statement from a very well known commercial and advertisement company Charmin Ultra,
less is more, is a very great statement to be used in this aspect, because a person that is considered in

Some may say that money is what true happiness is all about, money buys happiness, and without
riches, you are nothing and have no reasons to be happy, nor exist. If one has all the best things in life,
it will make them happy, for it has no reason to do otherwise. Social networking is mandatory because
without it you are left in the dark about what is going on in the world and one s happiness has nothing
to do with people s use of social media.
However, those who say money buys happiness must be one of two things; liers or blind to the fact
that you can have true happiness with no money at all. According to Bruno, Living simple is not easy
because it requires lots of patience and dedication. First you would need to make a game plan and
know you want in life, what you need, and what you can live without. It is interesting to find out all
the things you can live without that you once thought you needed to survive. Planning is the key to
having a happy and simple life (2017).
Social Media is more than definitely an indication for one s happiness because as stated early, there
are many events that occur where someone gets bullied and begins having suicidal thoughts or get
depressed from all the negative situations shown on the Internet which allows no room for happiness.

Domestic Surveillance During The United States
Domestic Surveillance in the Unites States has been going on for decades without the public s
knowledge. Domestic Surveillance didn t seem important in the eye of the American government.
After the September attacks (9/11) congress started to treat Domestic Surveillance as a number one
priority. After September 11th Congress passed a law to use military force for those responsible for the
attacks in New York, NY. The go ahead with using military force did not give the President to use
surveillance without a warrant. Congress started to pass legislation against counterterrorism efforts.
The most controversial measures, including the 2001 USA Patriot Act that gave the US federal
government the ability to collect and analyze private information that has identified itself with the
United States of America.
With new found ways of viewing American citizens personal information the federal government had
to learn how not to get caught. American citizens have right to their privacy and with all the new
Domestic Surveillance programs many were warrantless. In 2002 Bush signed a presidential order
allowing the National Security Agency to monitor without a warrant. This presidential order applied to
international telephone calls and e mail messages of thousands of citizens and legal residents inside
the United States. This program never had the requirements to obtain or produce a warrant from the

Analysis Of Edward Snowden s Information Leaks
In a society centered on an ever growing technological bloom, the standards for security have been
placed very high to protect citizens from cyber attacks and wrong doing. However, some of the steps
that have been taken pushed the limits to what is lawful. Very little reforms have been made even with
recent public awareness to the problem. The steps taken make the US government surveillance
programs contradict with the constitutional rights of the American people. This essay will address the
National Security Agency and its policies, Edward Snowden s information leaks, the views of the
opposition, and solutions to this lingering problem along with contributions. The primary American
government sector in charge of sorting through the massive amounts of data that pass through
technological means is the National Security Agency (NSA). The NSA searches for threats to the
United States, whether that be foreign or domestic. Many US citizens did not know how data was
being sorted until a few whistle blowers, the most famous being former NSA analyst Edward
Snowden, began leaking classified information to the public. This revealed that the US government
was using a massive internet dragnet that filtered through everyone s information, along with the
tapping of phone calls and private messages, regardless of crimes being committed or not. They could

Communism And Communism Similarities
China and Russia are seen as two of the most powerful nations in the world. Their strong military,
economy, and large amount of land and population. These two nations have many similarities and
differences that effect their relationship and how other nations see them across the globe. One major
trait they have in common in their governments political view, communism. Communism was seen as
one of the biggest threats to the world once it swallowed China and Russia. Communism is a theory or
system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being
ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state (definition.com). Communism was spreading like

The legislative branch and the judicial branches of government are both in control of who is elected
into office and how people vote. Today, communism is still with China and Russia. However one little
detail of power has changed when the USSR became Russia. China focuses on the preservation of
power in the hands of one party and on the other hand Russia is obsessed with the preservation of
power in the hands of one man (blogs.reuters.com). Both countries also had conflicts with the United
States about communism and their way of thinking about government. They constantly criticize the
rest of the worlds ways of government. China and Russia had many similarities with communism and
government, but they also had many differences that separated their thinking and beliefs. One of the
most major differences was how long the rule of communism lasted in both of these countries. China s
communism lasted but Soviet did not (classroom.synonym.com). Over the decades political parties

The Framework And Statutory Frameworks
The workforce has developed rapidly over the years in relation to policy and statutory frameworks,
with an emphasis upon the national curriculum in relation to literacy. The frameworks is influenced by
political aspects by theoretical and political aspects. This has been reflected within practice as policy
brings change and implications for practitioners and managers. Research has gone a long way to
implement the revised national curriculum which was due to the concerns raised due to the fact as a
country we are falling behind on the national league tables as we are in position 23 (DfEE, 2013),
which is quite disappointing as English is our first language within Britain, and we have made no
improvements within the last three years (DfEE, 2013). The Greeks did not just invent an alphabet;
they invented literacy and literature basis of modern thought (Blake, 2002. et al). Therefore, schooling
became longer because after an extended period of learning to read and write, children had become
exposed to the literary of culture. Pupils are now learning about the world through reading in
classrooms (King, 2000). Our view of literacy needs to be critically examined rather than accepted
unquestioningly. As Tobin et al, (1989) so fascinatingly demonstrates, our values affect our curriculum
and our judgements of children (Marsh et al, 2008, p.24). A need to bring an internal change is
necessary for people to live well in an environmentally responsible society which builds a

HIV/AIDS and its Impacts
HIV/AIDS is an illness that has been known across the globe for more than two decades because of its
effects on people, families, and relationships. This disease has contributed to the deaths of millions of
people throughout the world while there are other millions of people living with the illness. The
prevalence of HIV/AIDS is also evident in the fact that it continues to affect people, families, and

partners are usually mandated with the task of providing physical and emotional care to the infected
persons. The need to provide such care places considerable strain on the families and partners. As a

Berlin Wall Changes
Last year marked the 25 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Life in Germany was very
different before then. This event caused many changes in Germany, including the way people thought
and acted. People have gone from no phones, to phones, and fancy daily dress, to casual. Since the fall
of the Berlin Wall, the big changes in culture in Germany are marriage traditions, clothing trends, and
religion. Marriage and dating traditions have had many changes since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The Epic Of Alexander Pope s The Rape Of The Lock
Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the
characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock is a
famous mock epic. In it, there is invocation to Muses, proposition of subject, battles, supernatural
machinery, journey on water, underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee house), Homeric
similes and grand style but all for a simple family dispute instead of a national struggle. The grand
treatment of a low subject produces hilarious laughter and makes the story more ridiculous.
Firstly, Paradise Lost is a long epic poem by John Milton begins with the proposition of justification
of God s way to man with nice invocation to the Muses. And another epic poem titled The Faerie
Queene by Edmund Spenser follows the same manner. The subject matters in both of the epic poems
are grand. Like the epic poems, the poem The Rape of the Lock opens with the proposition of the
subject matter and Pope s invocation to the Muses to help him compose the literary art. Such a grand
treatment of a trivial subject matter like the clipping of the lock of Belinda provokes laughter when the
poet says:
I sing this verse to Caryll, Muse! Is due:
This, ev n Belinda may vouchsafe to view: Secondly, in The Iliad , Homer describes in considerable
detail the armor and weaponry of the great Achilles, as well as the battlefield trappings of other
heroes. In the poem The Rape of the Lock Pope

At the staff employee level there are two ways to evaluate performance. Productivity is established
within the departments and is analyzed routinely. Quality assurance (QA) is a method that is used to
monitor the quality of work being processed. Productivity and QA are done in each department and
the methods used are contingent upon the department s processes. As a manger or team lead their
performance is evaluated on the departments goals. Each department will determine and be provided
with goals for the upcoming year. These goals evaluate the performance of the department s key tasks.
For example, we have a goal of posting all cash and wires that comes in for the current month before
accountings end of the month (which is the 4th day of the following month). At the director level there
may be several departments or just one under their responsibility. The director is evaluated on his or
her ability to achieve their department goals and meet their executive officers formal expectations.
The executive team is evaluated by HCA division. We have goals that encompass the entire Tampa

Diesel Fuel Prices Trucking Industry Essay
The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had
significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a
devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of U.S.
communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues it s trend
of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over
the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S.
economy to a grinding halt.
What is the reason that gasoline and fuel prices are so high? Most people believe it is because of

4). A clear example of this can be seen by The Chrysler Corporation s sales of Dodge Ram pickup
trucks. Once the 11th best selling vehicle, it is now the 4th best seller; above the more fuel efficient

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both play
key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a role in
the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United States about
95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. It is then pumped or shipped to refineries where
certain qualities are achieved such as diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, and heating oil. The EPA s role is
to regulate the amount of additives and other chemicals that are added to the fuels, which give them
certain cleansing and lubricating properties. An important and very controversial additive in diesel
fuel is sulphur.
All grades of diesel fuel, No.1 (kerosene), No.2 on road fuel, and No.3 off road fuel, have sulphur in
them to keep the engines burning clean and to allow the fuel to burn properly (diesel fuel is almost
non flammable in it s virgin state without additives). Sulphur however is a dangerous pollutant and has
very damaging affects on the ozone layer, thus it is the EPA s responsibility to step in and decide on

Dempster s downfall as a mother and wife. The misfortune of being hit in the head by a snowball led
to her having her baby prematurely and going simple. Mrs. Dempster has greatly impacted Dunstan s
life since that fateful night. First, Mrs. Dempster has led Dunstan to write multiple books and become
a famous author, based on Saint hood. Dunstan s fascination with saints started when he was just a
little boy. Dunstan s passion has led him to believe that Mrs. Dempster is a saint herself. Mrs.
Dempster has completed three miracles in Dunstan s mind such as bringing his brother, Willie, back to
life after he was nearly dead due to a very bad flu. Mrs. Dempster s second miracle was saving the life
of a tramp which caused him to turn his life around after their encounter. Finally, her third miracle was
her face appearing on the statue of a saint in the war when Dunstan was close to death. Next, Dunstan
thought of Mary Dempster as if she was his own mother. Dunstan says, Leola I wanted as a trophy of
success, but Mrs Dempster was beginning to fill my whole life, (Davies 24). Dunstan was constantly

scared teenage boy at the time, Dunstan and the town were searching for Mrs. Dempster after she went

in such circumstances I must hate her or love her. In a mode that was far too demanding for my age or

Siege Of Jerusalem Research Paper
The Siege of Jerusalem Fall of Judea
Jewish history and cultural memory revolves around a few pivotal moments. One of the most
important is the 587 BCE Siege of Jerusalem, a moment that changed Jewish history forever.
The Kingdom of Judah
In 1948, the nation of Israel was created as a homeland for the Jews, a population without a place to
call their own. Right off the bat, this raises some questions. Why didn t the Jews have a home? And
why would they want Israel? The answer to these questions takes us back literally thousands of years
to an ancient kingdom named Judah. Judah, located in roughly what is now Israel, was home to a
certain Semitic speaking ethnic group. Any guesses which one? Judah...Jews...see how that works?
The Jewish people s claim to Israel is based in this ancient heritage. To really understand this,
however, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was the first Jewish Exile, in which the people of Judah were banished from their homeland. This
exile also resulted in the loss of the Jewish holy relics; after the Siege of Jerusalem, the Ark of the
Covenant was never seen again.
The Hebrew people would not be allowed back into Jerusalem until the end of the century when the
Persian Achaemenid Empire conquered the region and permitted them to leave Babylon. From that
point, the Hebrews of Jerusalem existed as subjects of various empires, from the Persians to the
Greeks to the Romans. Throughout this time, they maintained the dream of becoming an independent
kingdom again, inspired by their memory of the Kingdom of Judah. The Temple of Solomon was
rebuilt, but the Jews were again banished from Jerusalem after the Romans laid siege to the city in 70
CE. The Jews would be without a homeland for nearly 2,000 years, united in the dream and promise
of a renewed Jewish state.

The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Of Palestine Essay
115,000 is the total estimated number of civilians, armed forces, and others involved killed since the
start of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the late 19th century. Throughout the past several decades the
Israeli Zionists and Palestinian natives have fought over a section of land in the Middle East for
recognition as an independent or bi national country. This has led to a war in which a peaceful
solution, and not just managing the problem but attempting to end the problem is paramount. The
history of the Israeli Palestinian conflict begins around 1880 whenever the original Zionist movement,
creation of a homeland for Jews in Palestine, was first formed and thousands of Jews migrated to the
then Ottoman Empire occupied Palestine. At the end of World War I, in 1918, the British controlled
the Palestine area and encouraged Jewish migration to the newly British mandated Palestine.
Throughout the following years, up to 1939, violent riots or revolts, depending on who was describing
them, would break out killing many. After World War II ended, and the United Nations was formed, in
1947 the U.N. gathered the General Assembly to attempt to solve the problems in Palestine creating
two separate states, one for Jews and another for Arabs. War breaks out as the nearby Arab states
reject the plan. When the war ended 700,000 Palestinians fled, Jordan controlled the West Bank and
east Jerusalem, and Egypt controlled the Gaza Strip (Shikhmanter).
In the following two decades small

Nuremberg Code Of Ethics
Informed consent
The Nuremberg Code of Ethics, a set of ethical principles for human experimentation was developed
in 1947 following the trials conducted by medical professionals on prisoners in Nazi concentration
camps. This code had provided the public with confidence in the respectful and moral treatment of
subjects in the medical experiments.10The code defined the boundaries of medical experimentation
involving humans and established the requirement for informed consent. The Tuskegee study was
clearly violated many of these guidelines, yet an explicitly harmful study was allowed to continue for
decades because the officials of the Public Health Service deemed the study ethical and of scientific

Analyzing Alienated Labor in Regards to Democracy
The strive to maximize profits causes firms to mass produce commodity goods, which forces workers
to dedicate a large portion of their time to their labor. The efficiency of mass production is certainly
questionable, as economists like Keynes predicted that, given the massive technological leaps that
nations such as the United States and Great Britain were already making, the average work week
would be reduced to between fifteen and twenty hours a week by the twenty first century (Graeber,
Bullshit Jobs ). While it appears that the technological advancements Keynes expected came to
fruition, the average work week currently sits around

It is not a large stretch to assume that most of the sweatshop workers employed by Nike have never
worn any of the items that they had a part in producing, which serves to create an effect of resentment,
as those workers view Nike products as a reminder of their servitude and likely nothing more.
Like the product of one s labor, the process of labor itself can also be a source of estrangement for
workers in a capitalistic society. When workers have no influence on the circumstances surrounding
their production, they can be treated as commodities. Those that are working in sweatshops are often
doing so out of necessity, which gives firms control over laborers as they dominate the means of
production and therefore have more leeway in regards to practices such as forcing workers to endure
improper conditions or providing low wages. Firms like Nike can easily establish monopolies in the
market for cheap labor in developing nations like Indonesia, eliminating the competition for wages
along with any possibility of class ascendance. The result of this is the existence of laborers who are
completely disconnected from the undertaking of their work, as it only serves as both a means of
subsidence and a reminder of one s reliance on the bourgeoisie. Naturally, the laborer will feel that the

Children Should Get Their Children Vaccinated
Exposing a child to a virus or disease strand, no matter how small the dosage, is frightening. There are
multiple complications that come with it but I believe that the benefits outweigh the costs. Vaccines
have saved the world billions of dollars and have been the reason behind the decline of deadly
diseases such as smallpox and measles. Some parents are against vaccinations because they feel as if
the outcomes are unreliable. Parents should get their children vaccinated because it helps lower the
infections and diseases related to mortality rates, is a smart financial investment, and is considerate to
the lives of those around them.
Vaccinations contributes to the overall suppression of a disease. The more children that are vaccinated,
the lower the reports of infection and deaths due to a disease are. The Center for Disease Control, in
an article supporting immunizations, mentions a case in Japan where 80% of the children were
vaccinated for pertussis, or whooping cough. That same year the number of deaths reported were zero
and the infection count was below 400 children. After a while, parents stopped thinking that their
children needed to be vaccinated. That following year only 10% of the children were vaccinated,
which resulted in the death rate increasing by 41% and the number of infections being thirty two times
larger than the previous year. When comparing and contrasting the years, whether not a child got the
vaccination proves to be a huge factor in determining

me what type of disability he has, I should see him as an individual, and not as his disability. As a
teacher, I should be able to meet his particular needs, adapt the curriculum to challenge him, as well as
meet his needs, while using his strengths as opportunities. Since I conducted this observation, I can t
stop re playing it in my head, on how would I have handled the different scenarios I observed that day.
Every observation is a new lesson learned, I get strategies on what I observed worked between the
teacher and child, and what things to avoid. I really do enjoy doing observations; it definitely has an
influence in my teaching, in my strategies, and in a personal level as well. I feel I get to experience the
scenario behind a glass window. I can see the troubles, hear the tears and screams, sometimes feel the
toys as they are flying across the room, however, since I am not responsible for the class, I am only
there to observe, I am more calm, I am able to see how the teacher reacts, and I get time to analyze
and process how I would possible handle the scenario, all without feeling the stress to handle it

Practical Skills Assessment
Students are measured constantly regarding their retention ability while in the classroom. Most of the
time, the measurement tool is a written exam, an oral report, or a presentation. Although these are
ways for a student to prove they have achieved mastery of the information, these tools are not
considered reliable To be considered a reliable assessment tool, there needs to be consistency. The
same exam given to the same student a second time should show the same result. Therefore, the exam
is able to confirm the aimed measurement of degree that the student has shown in mastering the
material. As in bowling, a bowler who has mastered the skills will have a consistent average each
game, with the allotment of variation due to extraneous factors not associated with the bowlers
mastery, such as lane conditions or faulty pins. A reliable exam will also produce similar results from
different students who have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there is no absolute direct way to accomplish many of the skills the emergency medical
provider is tasked with on a daily basis, the testing of these skills is sometimes difficult. We are taught
specific ways to do skills in the classroom, but as long as the goal is achieved without injury to the
patient, the student will be successful in the testing session. This is why during the practical skills
exams, the evaluators must be given clear directions and behavior anchors, as in the behavior the
evaluator is requiring the student to show on a rated scale. Evaluators need to understand that although
the skill was not done possibly the way the evaluator would do it, but if the ultimate goal was reach,
the skill was successful. Practical skills exam stations should have more than one evaluator at all
times. This gives a team effort for evaluating the candidate, especially with so many skills and points
to be assessed, avoiding any inaccuracy by the

Julie Language Analysis
Review 1: Text
A. Overall comprehension
It is viable to assess that 3;3 year old Julie s language comprehension is on target from analyzing these
video clips, as development is fairly predictable for typically developing children. J. understands both
yes/no and more advanced wh word questions, which emerge between Late Stage II to Early Stage III
(p. 184). Cathy says to J., Do you know when your birthday is? J. responds, June 22nd. She also doesn
t hesitate in answering Chris when he asks, Besides strawberries, what other kind of berries do you
like? J. does have trouble with why questions, which are later developing (Late Stage III to Early
Stage IV). When asked, Why is the baby bird sad? J. ignores the question. Linguistic comprehension

During this time, fast mapping is used to quickly incorporate words into the child s lexicon (perhaps
bistro will become one of them), sometimes at a rate of nine new words per day (p.185 186). J s
content includes parts of speech such as: articles (the, a), main verbs (fly, eat), nouns (chair, nest),
proper nouns (Chris, Max), pronouns (he, they), adjectives (sad), and prepositions (in, on). Some
examples of J s more complex vocabulary include: museum, restaurant, macaroni, strawberries,
raspberries, and lollipop. When recapping Where the Wild Things Are, J. begins to make an error of
not using an antecedent for the pronoun (he), but backtracks to clarify. She says, So he... Max, then
puts his wild things suit on and sailed away to where the wild things are. After she s introduced Max
and the wild things, she goes on to use the correct subjective pronouns (he and they). J. correctly sorts
out that the singular pronoun he works for Max, but when referring to the wild things, the group
pronoun they is

The Characteristics Of The Seated Statue Of Hatshepsut
Seated Statue of Hatshepsut While examining the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut, initially, the first thing
one notices is the female figure of Egyptian pharaoh Hatshepsut. Although Hatshepsut is being shown
in a primarily male position, it does not take the attention away from her feminine face and petite,
graceful body. Over time, taking on the role of a pharaoh changed the perception the world had of who
Hatshepsut was. She went from being portrayed as the beautiful women seen in this artwork, to being
depicted as an unrecognizable male figure. When comparing the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut to other
statues of Hatshepsut created overtime, one would notice a dramatic difference. Despite the fact that
she is shown wearing the ceremonial attire of an egyptian king, (Museum Label Text, Seated Statue of
Hatshepsut) there is still a very strong sense of the figure being female. To further point out the female
traits of Hatshepsut in this statue, one would notice the rounded protruding chest that appears to be the
chest of a female. On the other hand, in later statues of Hatshepsut, one would notice that the chest is
much different. Her chest went from being round to being more square and flat, similar to those of a
man. Another significant difference is the size change between the statutes. In the seated statue of
Hatshepsut, she is very petite with small shoulders, thin arms, waist and legs. Hatshepsut is later
depicted as having very wide, broad shoulders and a muscular

Managerial Economics (BUS529AH1) Final Exam
Question 1.
(a).
Marginal Revenue (MR) is the adjustment altogether income because of a unit change in amount. So
also Marginal cost (MC) is the additional cost of producing a unit. These two ideas are extremely
helpful in ideal designation of assets.
Assets will mean all variables of creation utilized as a part of the generation process. Such assets are
rare. So every firm will attempt to make ideal allotment of such rare assets to get most ideal result.
A business is keep running with the essential goal of amplifying benefit. Along these lines ideal
designation will mean appropriation of rare assets in such a way, to the point that benefit is expanded.
Business sector is instrument which helps in ideal allotment of assets. On the off chance that a firm
has not succeeded in upgrading its essential target of benefit boost, then assets will be moved to
different zones of creation where it will be utilized all the more successfully. In this way social welfare
will be streamlined.
Scientifically it can be built up that profit will be augmented where Marginal revenue and Marginal

Don t You Feel Everyone Should Receive A Fair Trial
Don t you feel everyone should receive a fair trial when being accused of a crime? Well, 19 years ago,
on January 13, 1999, a boy at Woodland High School in Baltimore named Adnan was accused of
manual strangling of a girl named Hae Min Lee. He supposedly told Jay, a buddy of his, that he was
going to kill her. After Hae s missing body was recovered, Jay went to the police and the state used his
testimony against Adnan. Recently, a serial podcast was developed by Sarah Koenig, a detective who
goes deeper in the case and believes Adnan may be innocent. I think Adnan is innocent because Jay s
story kept altering details and sounds untrustworthy, Adnan had very little time to kill Hae, and
because Adnan was at the library during the same time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, Adnan had very little time to kill Hae according to the route Jay said Adnan took. Adnan
tells Sarah Koenig how much time it takes to get out of the school after the final bell. When the final
bell rings at 2:15, you can t just leave and jump in your car, he wrote. There are 1500 other students
filling the hallways and stairwells of a four story building. Then you have to get out of the school
parking lot, but the parking lot is encircled by the school bus loop, so you can t get your car out until
the buses fill up and leave. Which, Adnan wrote, took about ten to fifteen minutes. Episode 5: Route
Talk pg. 67(Adnan Syed). If there are 1500 students getting out of the school, it would take Adnan
quite some time to even find Hae Min Lee and go to her car. With everything he had to do after
school, twenty one minutes is too little time to kill Hae. Sarah tests the route to see how much time it
really takes for the entire scene to unfold. Right where Dana and I are also parked. It takes Dana and
me almost eighteen minutes to get to this spot. That leaves three minutes for the actual horror of the
thing. An argument maybe, then strangulation, then he s got to put her body in the trunk, somehow,
without anyone seeing. Episode 5: Route talk pg.70(Sarah Koenig). Adnan had to kill Hae Min Lee
and put her body in the trunk

Sydney Carton Suffering
It is impossible to have a world without suffering; however, it s also impossible to have a world
without joy. There has to be a balance of both good and bad in our world even if we hope life will be
joyful all the time. To have joy, there must be pain in the world as well. It can sometimes be a hard
idea to accept, especially when we re dealing with suffering firsthand, but it s just a part of life. In
many cases, progress comes after suffering in some way. Suffering is hard but it s beneficial so that we
can find joy and make change because of it and make progress.
Getting out of a bad place to find peace or happiness happens many times. Suffering serves as
motivation for both individuals and groups of people to get to a happier place in ... Show more content

Suffering may even happen on its own to make progress. People like Sydney Carton from the book A
Tale of Two Cities realize that unless he gives everything, the promise of a new peaceful future will
remain unfulfilled. Paralleling Dickens novel, Karl Marx believed that knowing and having suffering
will bring a synthesis of some sort (Stearns, Burns 6). Sometimes we forget that suffering can be self
inflicted as well as out of our control. Here the fictional character Sydney Carton takes someone s
place to die to save someone he loves. He didn t want to do this, but in order to make progress in the
world he felt it was necessary. Along with an individual causing suffering to produce, similarly the
larger universe can have suffering to cause change. To explain why suffering happens, Tom Honey in
a TED talk said Perhaps there is a great, cosmic plans that allows for horrible suffering so that
everything will work out okay in the end (3). Even though Honey is a Christian and not everyone
believes in what he does, everyone can think about the possibility of something big causing all
suffering. The idea of a greater plan in the universe causing suffering to cause progress is just another
way to think about the role of suffering. In both cases progress can be seen after suffering. People tend
to think about when it s been caused by outside forces. There can be times when someone has
sacrificed purposely to help progress. Sydney Carton made the hard but necessary decision to him to
die to save Lucie. The sacrifice allowed Lucie and her family to stay together. This was possible
because Sydney gave his life. Suffering brings about change that couldn t have come without it. When
a tsunami struck and caused devastating losses, Honey came up with new ways of thinking about God.
He s making progress in his faith which was caused from the suffering. Times of suffering are never
good for anyone

Digital Technology and Filmmaking Essay examples
Digital Technology and Filmmaking
Since the first movies were first made, they have been shot using film of various sizes, such as 8mm,
16mm, and 35mm. Within the past few years, technology has brought digital cameras to the film
industry, and now they are being used in independent and Hollywood films. The recent low budget
film The Blair Witch Project was primarily filmed using a Sony VX1000 digital camera, and the
movie The Celebration was totally filmed using this camera and the Canon XL 1, ( Should I Shoot
16mm or Digital? ). With some of digital s seemingly wonderful qualities, such as its low cost, it may
seem to some like a profound revolution that will sweep the film industry. But is digital really as
terrific as some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The site then mentions that the most commonly used cameras for independent film projects are the
Sony VX1000 and the Canon XL 1. These cameras cost around $4,000. But you don t have to buy
them; there are places where you can rent them. Digital can be cheaper, but first you have to get the
equipment to actually shoot digital
In Newsweek magazine, Jan 10, 2000 issue, a brief article called Going Digital makes note of digital s
approaching effects (12). It says that because of the success of certain films shot digitally, such as The
Celebration, the Sundance Film Festival anticipated a large number of digital entries this past season,
which took place from January 20 till the 30 (12). They provided top of the line digital projectors at
several of their locations. They aren t the only group of people who are enthusiastic about digital s
possibilities though.
In Electronic Engineering Times, December 13 issue, an article called To Infinity and Beyond: Digital
Cinema s Promise written by Richard Doherty, tells about the Society of Motion Picture and
Television Engineers annual meeting (85). Digital seemed to be the thing at the meeting that year, as
everyone agreed that digital was going to go far, as it would be nearly limitless in the film industry.
Lucasfilm engineers showed their digital versions of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in

The ability to significantly expand the rider s field of vision provides a tremendous safety advantage
and sets it apart from any other helmet on the market.
Wireless Communications: wireless communications between the HUD and other devices, such as
mobile phones and rider to rider communication systems (and in the case of electric motorcycles, the
motorcycle itself) are essential to the basic functionality of the helmet, and also allow for virtually
unlimited expansion of the features of this product.
Market Analysis
The motorcycle industry is currently strong overall, with respect to both new bike sales and sales of
used and vintage machines. Regardless of what they ride, most motorcyclists wear helmets.
Demographic changes within the market (i.e. increasing numbers of tech savvy younger riders) and
increased application of advanced technologies in the motorcycle industry (e.g. advanced anti lock
braking systems, electronic throttle management, etc.),have set the stage for the launch of a
technologically advanced motorcycle helmet, such as the XYZ. A more detailed description of the
target segments is provided below.
Key Customer Segments
Touring Riders: Touring riders cover long distances and typically ride larger, feature rich motorcycles.

  • 2. Aquarius Constellation Research Paper My favourite costellation is the Aquarius constellation, which is in the Southern Hemisphere during the spring, while in the Northern Hemisphere during the fall. This is my favourite constellation because to me, it is the most beautiful and is one of the most important backgrounds. In my personal opinion, it also has the most meaning to it. The term Aquarius means Water Bearer or Cup Bearer in Latin. In Greek myth, there was a young man named Ganymede, who was a prince of Troy. He was supposedy extremely handsome, and in this way, caught Zeus eye. This is where the story splits into many versions, but I ll be covering my favourite. Once Ganymede was carried to Olympus by Zeus in eagle form, who had decided to make Ganymede his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, a young peasant woman with no special traits except for a beautiful voice, caught the eye of Aphrodite herself. Aphrodite, who had been watching the youngling for the simple beauty of her voice, wondered if she was her child, or a grandchild, and one day approaced the young woman. The young woman s name was Catalina, and was curious about the goddess who stood before her. She respectfully bowed. Catalina was selfless for everything except for one thing her beauty. She wished to be the prettiest woman in the world. Aphrodite sensed this and devised a plan. If you collect me an apple of immortality from the Hesperides, then I shall grant you eternal beauty. Be warned: If you are to fall in love on this journey, then you will not be granted this, Aphrodite warned, but Catalina shook her head, desperate. So, she venturered far and wide to find the Garden of the Hesperides. One day, after many days of veturing, she found it, and only barely made it past Ladon. She snagged an apple and ran, only to hear someone screaming and grunting in pain. She eventually found Atlas, the titan cursed to hold up the sky. She grabbed a golden cup and squeezed the golden apple s insides nto the cup, mixing it into he water. She poured it into Atlas wounds and gave him the rest to drink, healing him efficiently. He drank it, and in the process, Catalina fell in love with the man. Aphrodite appeared, and shamed her for falling in love, as she would no longer have the gift of beauty. I don t care, as long as I may stay here with my love forever, Catalina said, amd Aphrodite smiled. You passed the test. grant you the gift of immortality and beauty, and name you Aquarius! Aphrodite announced and Catalina was enveloped in golden light, becoming the most beautiful woman in the Earth. And, in her honour for being selfless once again, Aphrodite put a constellation of Catalina with her golden cup, making it ... • 3. International Adoption Crisis Should Not Be A Viable Adoption International Adoption Crisis The image of an American family has changed dramatically over the last fifty years. American families are no longer modeled after the Cleavers. International adoption has contributed to this changing family view, bringing in children who are not biologically related to their parents and often of a different race. This new American image has helped eliminate race related issues. So, what is the controversy with international adoption? Children are the future of a country; children are human resources. If a country is losing their children to international adoption; the county is losing the gifts and talents that are irreplaceable in those children. Intercountry adoption should not be a viable adoption source because this process does not adequately benefit those involved, international adoption exploits poor children and hurts their countries of origin. International adoption takes children out of their countries, and this can lead to the risk of alienating children. Parents that adopt foreign children may be ill equipped or uneducated in their adopted child s culture and this can steer the loss of the child s cultural identity. Culturally, we pass on our values and beliefs through our family structure; our heritage is part of our identity. People who are raised in another country could miss out on learning about their ethnic heritage. Medical writer Meg Brannagan claims internationally adopted children question where their place is in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When asked about his trip, his response was criticized as Sam was patriot unlike his Father. Sam got into an heated argument that night he came back. The following day, Sam told Tim about his plan to steal the only gun his family had. Tim is also questioned about what side of the war he supports. Tim has great difficulty picking a side to support, and ultimately doesn t answer. Sam soon leaves home, to fight in the war. After several months, Tim was notified by Betsy that Sam had came back. The results of the study suggested that rewarding transformational leadership and active management by exception functioned as protecting factors. It also pointed to passive laissez faire leadership as an exposing factor in terms of burnout among nursing staff. One of the limitations to the study is that data was gathered using self administered measures; with no objective measures used to assess leadership and burnout. The data was also cross sectional in nature therefore conclusions cannot be drawn regarding the direction of casualty among multidimensional leadership and burnout. A research study was conducted by Patrick Lavery (2007), to compare the level s of burnout in Victorian nurses against normative data, and to assess the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The results of the focused interview revealed that the major stress related factors in the ICUs pointed to: shortages of knowledgeable nurses, absenteeism, doctors demands, and lack of support from management as well as colleagues, and the stress caused by temporary nurses acquired from the agencies. Recommendations were made towards nursing unit management, further nursing research, and nursing education. The limitations to this study are that the female participants are in the majority compared to the male participants and the sample size was rather limited in number, which limits the potential to generalize the results of this research. Ounder Basim surveyed 248 nurses from five hospitals in turkey in 2007 to identify the occupational burnout profiles of a sample of nurses, and to examine alternative developmental models based on these profiles. The Maslach Burnout Inventory was used to collect burnout data, and the Job descriptive index was used to measure satisfaction with coworkers and supervisors. The results of the study revealed that a higher level of emotional exhaustion was invariably associated with higher level of depersonalization. However, higher emotional exhaustion or depersonalization is not always associated with lower accomplishment. It was concluded that hospital managers should be watchful for emotional exhaustion rather than depersonalization or perceptions of personal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The implementation team then checks the context of the organization against the customer requirements and defines the organization s quality management standard (QMS) from there. An awareness campaign is done to inform everyone in the organization about the QMS implementation and then staff are trained to meet the requirements. Roles are assigned and an operations plan is then created. At this stage, the process plan is documented and then process is carried on. Poetry Analysis for Sunshine by Matisyahu Drury 1 Caitlan Drury Poetry Analysis for Sunshine By Matisyahu Many songs use different literary devices to communicate a message out to the audience. One of those songs is Sunshine by Matisyahu, which displays symbolism, imagery, figures of speech, tone, and theme. Others might not enjoy the song because it gives mixed signals. Although that is true, there are much more reasons to why someone would enjoy it. Sunshine by Matisyahu is an effective song because the artist uses a potpourri of literary terms to present his meaning to the audience. The theme of the song is very significant because it shows the audience to never give up. Sunshine by Matisyahu is a great song, although many people might not agree. Many people might not enjoy the song Sunshine by Matisyahu because it gives mixed signals and does not make sense in some parts of it. What does This phase is always, sometimes I get so crazed mean? That verse starts the song and the audience would not understand what is being said. What does the artist mean? Or maybe the chorus is just repeated a bit too much, which makes the song annoying for the audience. Yes, these arguments are reasonable, but they are not true. Employers are adapting to the expectations of their employees as their performance is more crucial than ever in our competitive business environments around the globe. Research has indicated that motivated employees will have a direct impact on the organization s performance levels. By assessing Goldman Sachs we will attempt to prove those conclusions. Their performance will be assessed by various components of financial information based on the perspective that a company s responsible for providing the most amount of money to their shareholders. Then looking into employee compensation, benefits, and programs offered we can understand why the company has been recognized as one of the best places to work. Depending on the results we will be able to argue or support the claims developed by the research we have seen. Recently employers have been doing their best to empower and satisfy their employees in an effort to increase organizational performance. This appears to be sound logic, but can it be proved. Over the long history of business, this has never been done before and companies have been able to perform well and thrive, so why does this change need to occur? The friendship was strengthened in the early 1900s as the United States was elevated to Embassy status in 1906. As a safety measure toward the Islamic State, the growing presence of Muslim fundamentalism (ABC Clio), the U.S. militarily has supported the Kurdish armed force in Syria, a minority ethnic group in the Middle East, to counter against the IS. However, a series of implacable events dragged the United States into the war. Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and innocent civilians being killed infuriated and shocked the Americans. Although some of these stories were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of instigating a strong anti German sentiment. The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor which influenced the decision for America to participate in World War 1. American businessmen such as J.P. Morgan who were interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious, the Allies (France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. Social networking is mandatory because without it you are left in the dark about what is going on in the world and one s happiness has nothing to do with people s use of social media. However, those who say money buys happiness must be one of two things; liers or blind to the fact that you can have true happiness with no money at all. According to Bruno, Living simple is not easy because it requires lots of patience and dedication. First you would need to make a game plan and know you want in life, what you need, and what you can live without. It is interesting to find out all the things you can live without that you once thought you needed to survive. Planning is the key to having a happy and simple life (2017). Social Media is more than definitely an indication for one s happiness because as stated early, there are many events that occur where someone gets bullied and begins having suicidal thoughts or get depressed from all the negative situations shown on the Internet which allows no room for happiness. Sometimes it is better to not know what is going on in life, if it has no personal affect on you, their should be no reason for you to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Domestic Surveillance During The United States Domestic Surveillance in the Unites States has been going on for decades without the public s knowledge. Domestic Surveillance didn t seem important in the eye of the American government. After the September attacks (9/11) congress started to treat Domestic Surveillance as a number one priority. After September 11th Congress passed a law to use military force for those responsible for the attacks in New York, NY. The go ahead with using military force did not give the President to use surveillance without a warrant. Congress started to pass legislation against counterterrorism efforts. The most controversial measures, including the 2001 USA Patriot Act that gave the US federal government the ability to collect and analyze private information that has identified itself with the United States of America. With new found ways of viewing American citizens personal information the federal government had to learn how not to get caught. American citizens have right to their privacy and with all the new Domestic Surveillance programs many were warrantless. In 2002 Bush signed a presidential order allowing the National Security Agency to monitor without a warrant. This presidential order applied to international telephone calls and e mail messages of thousands of citizens and legal residents inside the United States. • 17. Analysis Of Edward Snowden s Information Leaks In a society centered on an ever growing technological bloom, the standards for security have been placed very high to protect citizens from cyber attacks and wrong doing. However, some of the steps that have been taken pushed the limits to what is lawful. Very little reforms have been made even with recent public awareness to the problem. The steps taken make the US government surveillance programs contradict with the constitutional rights of the American people. This essay will address the National Security Agency and its policies, Edward Snowden s information leaks, the views of the opposition, and solutions to this lingering problem along with contributions. The primary American government sector in charge of sorting through the massive amounts of data that pass through technological means is the National Security Agency (NSA). The NSA searches for threats to the United States, whether that be foreign or domestic. Many US citizens did not know how data was being sorted until a few whistle blowers, the most famous being former NSA analyst Edward Snowden, began leaking classified information to the public. This revealed that the US government was using a massive internet dragnet that filtered through everyone s information, along with the tapping of phone calls and private messages, regardless of crimes being committed or not. They could search through private messages, turn on unsuspecting users cameras while their computer is idle, and listen through their phone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Framework And Statutory Frameworks The workforce has developed rapidly over the years in relation to policy and statutory frameworks, with an emphasis upon the national curriculum in relation to literacy. The frameworks is influenced by political aspects by theoretical and political aspects. This has been reflected within practice as policy brings change and implications for practitioners and managers. Research has gone a long way to implement the revised national curriculum which was due to the concerns raised due to the fact as a country we are falling behind on the national league tables as we are in position 23 (DfEE, 2013), which is quite disappointing as English is our first language within Britain, and we have made no improvements within the last three years (DfEE, 2013). The Greeks did not just invent an alphabet; they invented literacy and literature basis of modern thought (Blake, 2002. et al). Therefore, schooling became longer because after an extended period of learning to read and write, children had become exposed to the literary of culture. Pupils are now learning about the world through reading in classrooms (King, 2000). Our view of literacy needs to be critically examined rather than accepted unquestioningly. As Tobin et al, (1989) so fascinatingly demonstrates, our values affect our curriculum and our judgements of children (Marsh et al, 2008, p.24). • 22. The Epic Of Alexander Pope s The Rape Of The Lock Mock epic is a narrative poem which aims at mockery and laughter by using almost all the characteristic features of an epic but for a trivial subject. Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock is a famous mock epic. In it, there is invocation to Muses, proposition of subject, battles, supernatural machinery, journey on water, underworld journey, long speeches, feasts (coffee house), Homeric similes and grand style but all for a simple family dispute instead of a national struggle. The grand treatment of a low subject produces hilarious laughter and makes the story more ridiculous. Firstly, Paradise Lost is a long epic poem by John Milton begins with the proposition of justification of God s way to man with nice invocation to the Muses. And another epic poem titled The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser follows the same manner. The subject matters in both of the epic poems are grand. Like the epic poems, the poem The Rape of the Lock opens with the proposition of the subject matter and Pope s invocation to the Muses to help him compose the literary art. Such a grand treatment of a trivial subject matter like the clipping of the lock of Belinda provokes laughter when the poet says: I sing this verse to Caryll, Muse! Diesel Fuel Prices Trucking Industry Essay The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of U.S. communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues it s trend of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S. economy to a grinding halt. A clear example of this can be seen by The Chrysler Corporation s sales of Dodge Ram pickup trucks. Once the 11th best selling vehicle, it is now the 4th best seller; above the more fuel efficient Ford Taurus and Honda Accord (Phillips 22). The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both play key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a role in the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United States about 95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. It is then pumped or shipped to refineries where certain qualities are achieved such as diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, and heating oil. The EPA s role is to regulate the amount of additives and other chemicals that are added to the fuels, which give them certain cleansing and lubricating properties. An important and very controversial additive in diesel fuel is sulphur. All grades of diesel fuel, No.1 (kerosene), No.2 on road fuel, and No.3 off road fuel, have sulphur in them to keep the engines burning clean and to allow the fuel to burn properly (diesel fuel is almost non flammable in it s virgin state without additives). • 30. The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Of Palestine Essay 115,000 is the total estimated number of civilians, armed forces, and others involved killed since the start of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in the late 19th century. Throughout the past several decades the Israeli Zionists and Palestinian natives have fought over a section of land in the Middle East for recognition as an independent or bi national country. This has led to a war in which a peaceful solution, and not just managing the problem but attempting to end the problem is paramount. The history of the Israeli Palestinian conflict begins around 1880 whenever the original Zionist movement, creation of a homeland for Jews in Palestine, was first formed and thousands of Jews migrated to the then Ottoman Empire occupied Palestine. At the end of World War I, in 1918, the British controlled the Palestine area and encouraged Jewish migration to the newly British mandated Palestine. Throughout the following years, up to 1939, violent riots or revolts, depending on who was describing them, would break out killing many. After World War II ended, and the United Nations was formed, in 1947 the U.N. gathered the General Assembly to attempt to solve the problems in Palestine creating two separate states, one for Jews and another for Arabs. War breaks out as the nearby Arab states reject the plan. When the war ended 700,000 Palestinians fled, Jordan controlled the West Bank and east Jerusalem, and Egypt controlled the Gaza Strip (Shikhmanter). In the following two decades small ... Kobee Crown Discussion Section: Gamble 10:00 AM Analyzing Alienated Labor in Regards to Democracy The strive to maximize profits causes firms to mass produce commodity goods, which forces workers to dedicate a large portion of their time to their labor. The efficiency of mass production is certainly questionable, as economists like Keynes predicted that, given the massive technological leaps that nations such as the United States and Great Britain were already making, the average work week would be reduced to between fifteen and twenty hours a week by the twenty first century (Graeber, Bullshit Jobs ). It is not a large stretch to assume that most of the sweatshop workers employed by Nike have never worn any of the items that they had a part in producing, which serves to create an effect of resentment, as those workers view Nike products as a reminder of their servitude and likely nothing more. Like the product of one s labor, the process of labor itself can also be a source of estrangement for workers in a capitalistic society. When workers have no influence on the circumstances surrounding their production, they can be treated as commodities. Those that are working in sweatshops are often doing so out of necessity, which gives firms control over laborers as they dominate the means of production and therefore have more leeway in regards to practices such as forcing workers to endure improper conditions or providing low wages. Firms like Nike can easily establish monopolies in the market for cheap labor in developing nations like Indonesia, eliminating the competition for wages along with any possibility of class ascendance. The result of this is the existence of laborers who are completely disconnected from the undertaking of their work, as it only serves as both a means of subsidence and a reminder of one s reliance on the bourgeoisie. There are multiple complications that come with it but I believe that the benefits outweigh the costs. Vaccines have saved the world billions of dollars and have been the reason behind the decline of deadly diseases such as smallpox and measles. Some parents are against vaccinations because they feel as if the outcomes are unreliable. Parents should get their children vaccinated because it helps lower the infections and diseases related to mortality rates, is a smart financial investment, and is considerate to the lives of those around them. Vaccinations contributes to the overall suppression of a disease. The more children that are vaccinated, the lower the reports of infection and deaths due to a disease are. The Center for Disease Control, in an article supporting immunizations, mentions a case in Japan where 80% of the children were vaccinated for pertussis, or whooping cough. That same year the number of deaths reported were zero and the infection count was below 400 children. After a while, parents stopped thinking that their children needed to be vaccinated. That following year only 10% of the children were vaccinated, which resulted in the death rate increasing by 41% and the number of infections being thirty two times larger than the previous year. The Characteristics Of The Seated Statue Of Hatshepsut Seated Statue of Hatshepsut While examining the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut, initially, the first thing one notices is the female figure of Egyptian pharaoh Hatshepsut. Although Hatshepsut is being shown in a primarily male position, it does not take the attention away from her feminine face and petite, graceful body. Over time, taking on the role of a pharaoh changed the perception the world had of who Hatshepsut was. She went from being portrayed as the beautiful women seen in this artwork, to being depicted as an unrecognizable male figure. When comparing the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut to other statues of Hatshepsut created overtime, one would notice a dramatic difference. Despite the fact that she is shown wearing the ceremonial attire of an egyptian king, (Museum Label Text, Seated Statue of Hatshepsut) there is still a very strong sense of the figure being female. To further point out the female traits of Hatshepsut in this statue, one would notice the rounded protruding chest that appears to be the chest of a female. On the other hand, in later statues of Hatshepsut, one would notice that the chest is much different. Her chest went from being round to being more square and flat, similar to those of a man. Sometimes we forget that suffering can be self inflicted as well as out of our control. Here the fictional character Sydney Carton takes someone s place to die to save someone he loves. He didn t want to do this, but in order to make progress in the world he felt it was necessary. Along with an individual causing suffering to produce, similarly the larger universe can have suffering to cause change. To explain why suffering happens, Tom Honey in a TED talk said Perhaps there is a great, cosmic plans that allows for horrible suffering so that everything will work out okay in the end (3). Even though Honey is a Christian and not everyone believes in what he does, everyone can think about the possibility of something big causing all suffering. The idea of a greater plan in the universe causing suffering to cause progress is just another way to think about the role of suffering. In both cases progress can be seen after suffering. People tend to think about when it s been caused by outside forces. There can be times when someone has sacrificed purposely to help progress. Sydney Carton made the hard but necessary decision to him to die to save Lucie. The sacrifice allowed Lucie and her family to stay together. This was possible because Sydney gave his life. Suffering brings about change that couldn t have come without it. When a tsunami struck and caused devastating losses, Honey came up with new ways of thinking about God.
