Text that is of one particular face and size
Importance of fonts in film
The font used in a film can be key signifiers of the genre for example a red film may represent
the horror genre as it could symbolise blood or it could symbolise the romance genre as it is the
colour of love. Different aspects of the font can present the genre to the audience including font
size, colour and the style. The font can also represent the importance of the text shown for
example if a text is in capitals and is big and bold it is likely to be key information.

Horror MovieFontConventions
Font conventions usually vary depending on the plot of the film however some fonts also signify
the genre. As I am planning to create a horror film opening here are some of the common font
conventions for the horror genre:
● Colour - Red - represents blood and danger
● Size - Big and bold - stands out and impacts the audience
● Style - Harsh, sharp capital letters
