Why are fonts important?
• A font is important because it sets the tone of
a film.
• For Example the ‘SAW’ Franchise would not
be as famous or successful if it had a girly
font or a bright coloured childish font.
• A font usually tells the audience the
plot/theme of the movie.
Saw uses the severed fingers as a replacement
for the number 2, this connotes that the film is
extremely gory and definitely in the horror
genre.
These are some fonts we looked at when
choosing one for our film.
They are all from the site dafont.com under the
horror category. Although these were good none
of them really appealed to us as a professional
horror looking font.
• For our movie ‘Adeline’ we thought that the
font ‘FACE YOUR FEARS’ was a good one. We
liked it as it connotes blood and the idea of
splattered blood. For this reason we decided
to use if for our practise film poster and we
put it n red to emphasise the blood
connotation.
