What are Geologic Structures?
إيه هيا التراكيب الجيولوجيه؟
Geologic structure is any feature in rocks that results from deformation, such as folds, joints, and faults.
اى شكل فى الصخر ينتج من خلال عملية التشويه مثل : الصدوع والطيات
هى التشققات والتصدعات الضخمة والالتواءات العنيفة التى تشوه صخور القشرة الارضية .
Geologic structures are usually the result of the powerful tectonic forces that occur within the earth. These forces fold and break rocks, form deep faults, and build mountains .
Division of Structures
• Primary (or sedimentary) structures: such as ripple marks, cross-bedding, and mud cracks form in sediments during or shortly after deposition.
هى التراكيب الناتجة من تدخل العمليات الخارجية أثناء الترسيب
• Secondary structures: is that structures formed after the formations of any kind of rocks, such as folds, faults, or unconformities.
Primary structures
They are any structures in sedimentary rock formed at or shortly after the time of deposition: such as:

Some researchers classified the fractured carbonate reservoirs as one of four types (Hubert and Willis (1955) and MacNaughton and Garb (1975); modified by Nelson, 1985; Allen and Sun, 2003, 2004). Their argument based on intergranular porosity and permeability and the role of fractures which has play role in providing space and fluid flow. Depending of rock type, local tectonic regime and thickness of sediment the fracture pattern can be change.
Retaining walls are an integral part of any sea facing structure or structures which contain single or multiple basements. The PPT gives a general idea about retaining walls and also focuses on a case study of the retaining wall along the Worli Seaface in Mumbai, India.

Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.

Quality defects in TMT Bars, Possible causes and Potential Solutions.PrashantGoswami42
Maintaining high-quality standards in the production of TMT bars is crucial for ensuring structural integrity in construction. Addressing common defects through careful monitoring, standardized processes, and advanced technology can significantly improve the quality of TMT bars. Continuous training and adherence to quality control measures will also play a pivotal role in minimizing these defects.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Traps
Anticline and Fault traps
3. When working in the field, Strike and Dip
measurements are used to determine the
orientation of rock units and other
features
1) Strike – The compass direction of a line
at the intersection of a geologic plane
and a horizontal plane (water line)
2) Dip – The angle between the inclined
plane and horizontal, perpendicular to
strike
Strike & Dip
5. It is one of the most common geological
structures found in rocks. When a set of
horizontal layers are subjected to compressive
forces, they bend either upward or
downward. The bend noticed in rocks are
called folds.
It occurs when originally horizontal rock
units deform under compressive forces.
Fold
9. Faults
A fault is when tension and compression associated with plate
movement is so great that blocks of rock fracture or break apart. This
process can occur very rapidly, in the form of earthquakes.
10. Types of Fault
1. Normal Fault : Hanging wall moves down with respect to
footwall.
2. Reverse Fault : Hanging wall moves upward with respect to
footwall.
3. Strike Slip Fault : Two blocks slide pass each other because
of shear stress.
Is this fault right-lateral
or left-lateral?
Left-lateral
11. Why are these folds and faults important ?
• The study of geologic structure has been prime importance
in petroleum exploration.
• Folded and faulted rock strata commonly form traps for the
accumulation and concentration of petroleum and natural
gas.
12. Traps
Structural traps
“A trap is a trap, whether or not it has a mouse in it" (attributed to W. C. Finch,
in Rittenhouse, 1972, p. 16).
The structural and stratigraphic configuration that focuses on oil and gas into
an accumulation.
Two critical components of a trap
• Seal
• Reservoir rock.
Structural traps are created by the syn- to post depositional deformation of strata
into a structure that permits the accumulation of hydrocarbons in the subsurface.
The resulting structures involving the reservoir, and usually the seal intervals, are
dominated by either folds, faults or any combination of the foregoing.
13. Anticlinal Trap
A fold structure with an arch of non-
porous rock overlying porous strata
(reservoir rock), providing a trap in
which oil, gas, or water may accumulate.
14. Fault Trap
• Faults can be extremely important to the
viability of a trap by providing either seals or
leak points.
• They are capable of acting as top, lateral, or
base seals by acting as sealing surfaces due to
the impermeable nature of the material along
the fault.
15.
16.
17. Structural Geology :
• It is the study of factors such as origin, occurrence,
classification, type and effects of various primary
structures like folds, faults etc. and are different
from those primary structures such as bedding,
which develop in rocks at the time of their
formation.
• Structural geology is the study of rocks deformed by
stress and strain.
