This proposal outlines a short film project called "Hacked" about a 16-year-old hacker named Alex who is recruited by a criminal organization to help with a bank robbery but later regrets his decision. The proposal discusses conducting research on heist films and security systems to make the plot believable. It includes a schedule spanning 10 weeks for writing the script, filming, editing, evaluating, and potentially updating the project. Research methods like surveys and interviews of the target 16-24 male audience are mentioned. Skills learned over the past year like camera work, editing, and audio will be applied to the project.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Working Title:
Hacked
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later.
Audience:
My target audience is teens and young adults aged 16 – 24 typically male, however, someone
outside of this demographic could still enjoy it, although isn’t recommended for someone under the
age of 15 due to strong language and violence.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use
the Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation
to content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product
appeal to the gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
This year I have learnt a variety of camera and editing skill that will be useful for me when making
my product. Something I have learnt about which will be very useful is how to do colouring in
Premier Pro in order to get the best look out of my film. I have also learnt a lot more about using
ADR in order to add audio into a project during editing which allows me to have control of how the
audio can compliment the visuals. I’ve also learnt better ways of shooting so I can get more good
looking shots and can make my film look better by using focus on my camera properly and using
camera angles well.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
For my project I am going to make a short film in the heist genre. This story would feature a young
teen named Alex who is an exceptional hacker and ends up being taken in by a criminal
organisation that offers to pay him to help them hack a bank and help them with their robbery. Alex
being only 16 jumps at the chance to earn the large amount of money he would receive, however,
he will later come to regret this decision when a heist begins to go south and he realises the true
nature of the organisation he is involved in. Alex later gets picked up by the police who make a
deal to free him from all charges if he agrees to work with them instead, an offer which Alex
decides to accept.
In order to achieve this project I will need to research different heist films and figure out the kind of
security I would have to recreate and what scenarios are believable to be happening in a bank
heist so I can involve them in my script.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
To evaluate my work I'm going to write a week by week production reflection which I will use to talk about
how my work is going and what I'm doing as well as areas I could improve upon.I will also write a final
evaluation after I have finished my production.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your
final self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
