This document is a proposal for a short film called "Which wire" aimed at audiences aged 25-30. The proposal outlines the rationale, concept, production techniques, schedule and evaluation plans for the film. The concept involves a man receiving a threatening text message saying a bomb is ticking. He finds a bomb in the room with a set of pliers and must cut the right wire to defuse it. However, it is revealed the man planted the bomb as a prank. Production techniques like green screening and sound effects will be used to make the film more realistic. The schedule outlines pre-production, filming, post-production and screening over 5 weeks.

My general audience is hard to show because different age groups and gender will like different
thriller films here are some examples:
 Shutter island- the general age of audience is 25-30 and the general age is male
 The usual suspects- the general age is 40-54 and the general gender is male.
 Se7en- the general age is 40-54 and the general gender is male.
 Inception- the general age of audience is 25-30 and the general age is male
My film project will meet the appeal because I am going to make my film quite tense, which the
audience will like. They will like it because it will be set in the modern which will hit closer because
it is set in the modern day. They will like it because the bomb being used will be a homemade
bomb, which will hit even closer to home because it could theoretically happen in the modern day.
And finally they will like it because there is a sense of urgency because if you don’t defuse it will
blow up.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
From our last rotation which was the Irn Bru project the skills and knowledge that I am going to
bring such as my Cromer keying skills by using the green screen and my special effects skills like
using pre made effects and butting the of my film which I Cromer keying it out. These skills will
make my film 10 times better because it will make it more realistic and affective By adding these
special effects I hope that I might get a higher grade. I also learned how to use Adobe Premier
Pro, After affects and Photoshop, learning all the short cuts and all of the basics.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept for my short film is to have a guy waking up and getting a message from a blocked
number saying “time is ticking, tick tock tick tock.” then a timer starts and the bomb starts to tick.
There is a set of pliers on the floor. He will scramble to get them. Then he will go up to the bomb
with his hands shaking and sweat dripping off his face. Then he cuts the wire and then nothing
happens then it cuts outside and nothing happens the door opens and lots of smoke comes out
and the guy comes out wearing a balaclava and starts to walk away. He gets a message saying.
“That’s impossible, that wasn’t supposed to happen” he smirks and cracks his fingers and neck
and walks away.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
Some specialist production techniques I might use will be green screen/Cromer keying in some
scenes such as the scene when he is in the room with the bomb because I need to be dark and
abandoned. Another thing that I can do is adding sound effects, which will make my film a lot more
realistic. For example I could use explosion sound effects or I could use water dripping sound
effects because it is going to be an abandon building and the water dripping will make it sound
more realistic. Also another thing I can do is use the action essential pack to add some smoke
effects and also some dust partials to make it more realistic. Most of the things here you might
need a little help with the first time you do so watch a video or ask your teacher for a bit of help.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work by looking over it and thinking to myself if I was to do it again what
would I change and how would I change it. Also I might get someone to look at it and ask them
what they like about it and what they didn’t like about it.
