1. My overall goal for life is to become a film editor for
(hopefully) some really big films but there are several
steps I need to take to get there. I took media as an
option for my GCSE’s and ended up with a distinction 2
and it ended up being my favourite subject so I decided
I wanted to do it at college then take it into a further
career. The secondary school I went to offered media
as an A level course but I decided I preferred the more
practical side rather than theory so I decided to study
vocational media here at York instead which I will be
doing for the next two years. In order to give me the
best chance at getting a good, high paid job in the
media industry I feel like going to university would be
the best option after college. I’m not sure yet which
uni would be the best to go to for media but it’s
something I will have to research and find out what’s
best for me including factors like location and what
kind of degree I can get. That will occupy me for at
least 2 years if not more but then after that I hope to
use my degree to get myself a good job in the industry
doing something I enjoy but until then I hope to keep
my job as a kitchen porter or have another solid job so
I can earn some money whilst studying but not let it
take over so I don’t have any spare time to study and
relax.
