2. Location
The location for the video will be Orchard fields at Malton, this is because the area has
a forest which is perfect for a horror film as its difficult to see when there are loads of
trees around so it creates a spooky atmosphere, I will be filming most scenes during
the night as that creates a sense of mystery. There may be other scenes filmed during
the daytime at other places around Malton but the main location will be the forest.
The forest also allows for me to make sound effects such as feet creeping around on
leaves or twigs snapping as someone steps on them. The location is good as at night
there wont really be anyone around so there shouldn’t be any disruptions. The
location is also easily accessible by everyone involved. This location in the dark will be
good as it will provide a good picture for my poster.
Here on the right is the location I have
chosen, the white circle shows the
wooded area where most of the
filming will take place. On the left is
my house where the final scene will be
filmed.
3. Risk Assessment
1. One of the risks could be the fact that its dark so we might not always know where
we are walking so we will have to be cautious so that we don’t accidently fall
down anything or stand on anything dangerous such as needles and glass. We will
be taking phones with flashlights on them so we will have be able to see where
we are going.
2. If during the day there is a lot of rain then the area may become slippery and
boggy which will make it difficult to film also if equipment is dropped in boggy
areas or because someone slips over then it could be damaged meaning we wont
be able to continue. We will have to make sure we are careful where we are
walking and not go into any areas that are too boggy to film in.
3. An obvious risk is covid which could potentially spread among us, we could
potentially try to avoid this by all making sure we take a covid test before we meet
and also trying to socially distance as much as possible.
4. The location we are using has a river running alongside it so we have to make sure
we stay clear of it as it could be quite dangerous if we were near it, so far none of
the scenes should involve going anywhere near the water but we need to be
careful around it.

13. Colour Schemes
Here I have the gradient for the
poster which as you can see is
very dark which fits the horror
theme perfectly. This shows
there shouldn't be many bright
colours involved except when
showing one of the good
characters. The gradient fades
from red into black, the red
symbolises blood and danger
which then fades into black
which is a mysterious colour as
it could be hiding anything.
Also, the writing that describes
the dark character is in red, so it
suggests he is dangerous.
Here is theme from the poster.
As we can see there is a huge
contrast between one
extremely dark colour and one
bright one, the bright colour
being yellow is shown on the
good character, the brightness
of this suggests his innocence.
However, the black is evil as it is
completely covering the evil
clown in the background and
the clown is holding a red
balloon which suggests that this
character is going to be
dangerous and may cause a
threat.
14. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Phone dies Make sure other people have their phones on them
as backup.
People cant make it Try and see if there is anyone else that can help, if
not then tailor the scenes to what you have.
Losing work without saving Make sure I am saving my work every 10 minutes so I
only lose 10mins worth.
Phone breaks Same as if the phone dies, make sure you have a
backup.
Bad weather Set a backup day/s for filming so you can film in
better weather or just improvise.
Losing clips As soon as a clip is recorded I should save it to a
folder and OneDrive so it cant be lost
15. Equipment, Location and Crew
Equipment/ Props/

16. Production Schedule and Budget
There will be a small amount of money spent on this project as I will need to buy things such as
a fake knife and fake blood. I don’t need to buy any equipment as I will be recording the trailer
on my phone, so I have no need to buy or rent out a camera.
Week: Tasks to be Completed: Specific tasks:
1 Initial Ideas and Proposal Writing both up whilst researching information for my bibliography.
2 Research Making my research PowerPoint, finding out effective methods from
existing products.
3 Research Finishing off my research and moving onto planning.
4 Pre-production and Planning Doing my research PowerPoint including my storyboard and a script.
5 Production Starting production of my poster then get some clips for my trailer at
the weekend.
6 Production Starting to edit the first load of clips for my trailer then get some
more clips that weekend.
7 Production I will most likely finish my production this week.
8 Production and Evaluation Finish any part of production I have left and maybe move onto
evaluation.
9 Evaluation Reflect and evaluate on all my pre-production and production.
17. Style Sheet
I intend for my poster to be similar to
these two. Both posters show the main
evil character in the center usually in the
shadows or in darkness with some faded
or grubby text telling us the title. They
also include a creepy line that references
something within the film. The colours in
these posters are quite dark much like
the trailer will be.
Apple Chancery- This font looks like an old style which could be effective as old houses
tend to be haunted and it looks kind of creepy.
Gurmukhi MN- This font is quite big and bold which shows dominance and if you
made this font white then you could add effects over the top such as cracks or
blood splatters.
Tw Cen MT Condensed- This font is quite small which can be effective as it can make
the main character on the front seem bigger and make them the main focus, I think the
Friday the 13th poster does this really well whereas the Insomnia one does the opposite.
19. Pre-production
• What are you making? I am making a trailer for a horror film.
• Why? In the future I want to go into film making so I decided to make
a horror film trailer as I thought it was the most useful and I enjoy the
horror genre.
• Who is it for? The primary audience is going to be 15-29 as that is the
typical age range for people that watch horror films. The secondary
audience would be around 30-60 as these also might enjoy horror
films but may also be the primary audiences parents for example.
• Where will it appear/on what? I will post the trailer on YouTube, this
is because most people in the primary audience frequently use
YouTube.
