• Firefighting is a crucial task which is faced by the fire men.
• They put out fire by approaching the location and resulting life threatening exposures.
• To reduce the risk of human safety (especially firemen) robotics can be applied.
• In this presentation we are introducing a firefighter robot which will works similar to a fire
man, hence creating a major role in the field of safety.
• It can be used to increase the effectiveness of fire fighting and reduces various difficulties.

• Taking reference from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics for 2015, The
Managing Trustee and President of Beyond Carlton, said five States — Maharashtra, Uttar
Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh — accounted for over 60% of deaths due to
fire.
• In Karnataka, 1,244 people had died in fires in 2015, 781 of them women. Nationally too,
NCRB data for 2015 showed that 17,500 Indians died in fire accidents in a single year. As many
as 7,445 Indians died in their residences.

• A firefighter of age 31, died after portion of building collapses on him due to lack of advancement
in the technology of fire safety department.
• Analyzing these incidents and harms to humanity, we intend to bring improvements in the
technology of fire fighting systems through our project of the prototype of a fire fighter robot.
• As technology in the fire service can improve fire fighter safety and readiness.
• Robotic firefighting systems are designed with certain tasks in mind. These include analyzing and
locating fires, conducting search and rescue, monitoring hazardous variables and the primary task
of fire control and suppression.
• The goal of this competition is to advance the capabilities of robotic fire fighter robots in
particular, the application of fire fighter robots to the suppression of warehouse fires. Sprinkler
systems are effective and reliable.

• Robotic firefighting systems are designed with certain tasks in mind. These include
analyzing and locating fires, conducting search and rescue, monitoring hazardous variables
and the primary task of fire control and suppression.
• Fixed firefighting robotic systems, like automatic fire sprinklers and alarms, are should be
used in heavily populated and hazardous areas for rapidly extinguishing any threat. These
are usually simpler systems relying mostly on IR sensors.
• Specifically the challenge is for a robot to navigate a model floor plan of a
warehouse with several rooms and hallways. The robot will find the fire and
extinguish it in the shortest time possible.

• This robot will reduce the risk of injury for motivation behind this project is that firefighter's
death. Many firefighters are struggling to perform their duty which causes many deaths while on a
mission and the circumstances related to each incident.
• Firefighters are our heroes and our sense of security in times of trouble. They put themselves on
dangerous situations to protect us. At present, the world is moving toward the use of technologies
software and hardware.
• This paper proposed a smart fire fighter robot system which designed to detect the source of fire,
extinguish it and increase the knowledge about fire behavior from the firefighters and possible
victims and decrease the monetary losses which increase considerably as fire duration increases.
• This Robot can extinguish different types of fire A, B, C, D, K, electric and metal fire without
spreading in the shortest time.

• The movement of the chassis depends on the proper soldering of the PCB of all the electronic
components, which is controlled through a wireless remote by using a RF controller.
• The water can be thrown to the fire within 2 seconds of detecting the fire in a distance more than
2 meters from the nozzle arm, whose movements ( up & down ) is also done by the same remote.
• The water tank pressure of the cart will be checked through the formula, 𝑃 = 0.433 ∗ ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡.
• The force on the hose will be calculated through the formula, F=(CAPV)/2. C is the drag
coefficient, 0.00425.
• The tolerance value for all the connections in assembly will be under 5%. Highest accuracy will
be tried to achieve so that the project can function according to the objective.
• Also the camera is attached in the top part. This camera will act as an eye for the whole model.
• We design the fire detection system using wide angle night vision camera that is capable of
showing the flame through the portable screen.
• The robot can operate in the environment which is out of human reach in very short time, the
delay employed is very minimal.
• The robot accurately and efficiently finds the fire and within minimum time after the fire is
detected it can be extinguished.
• The water can be thrown to the fire within 2 seconds of detecting the fire in a distance more than
2 meters.
• The Fire Fighting Robot employs RF controller technology to control the directions of the robot.
 Can be used in record maintaining rooms where fire can cause lose of valuable data.
 Can be used in Server rooms for immediate action in case of fire.
 Can be used in extinguishing fire where probability of explosion is high.
For eg: Hotel kitchens, LPG/CNG gas stores etc.
 Every working environment requires a permanent operator's attention for taking action
incase of fire emergencies which can be replaced by this robot.
 At power plant control rooms.
 At flight control centers.
 It can efficiently replace fire extinguishing cylinders with a more safer and advanced option.
• All through this examination; structure and assembling process are clarified, elements of the
robot are talked about. The fabricated robot is a model of the arranged progressed firefighting
robot.
• The financial plan of this task is constrained and propelled fabricating machines, sensors and
equipment can't be utilized, so the robot is delivered utilizing the least expensive segments that
can be found in the market effortlessly.
• Regardless of the inconveniences, fire recognition robot breezed through the capacity’s tests
effectively. The versatile combination calculation technique is for tire identification of
firefighting robot.
• This venture is accepted to be assembled effectively utilizing the above instruments and
programming dialect referenced as the abovementioned.
 Use of Co2 Gas Cylinders:
Due to its physical and chemical properties, Co2 is the most commonly used gas on-board ships
in order to extinguish fire during accidents.
 Use of Dry Chemical Powder:
Dry Chemical Powder is discharged by pressure of nitrogen gas stored in bottles without other
power source. Dry Chemical Powder is not electrically conductive and therefore it can be used to
electric equipment.
 Use of Foam:
Foam has been used as a fire-extinguishing medium for flammable and combustible liquids.
Foam is made up of three ingredients - water, foam concentrate and air.
 Can use Higher Resolution Zooming Camera:
By using higher resolution zooming camera we can detect the fire from the long distance.
 Designing electronic devices particularly for fire extinguishing robot:

  • 8. • A firefighter of age 31, died after portion of building collapses on him due to lack of advancement in the technology of fire safety department. • Analyzing these incidents and harms to humanity, we intend to bring improvements in the technology of fire fighting systems through our project of the prototype of a fire fighter robot. • As technology in the fire service can improve fire fighter safety and readiness. • Robotic firefighting systems are designed with certain tasks in mind. These include analyzing and locating fires, conducting search and rescue, monitoring hazardous variables and the primary task of fire control and suppression. • The goal of this competition is to advance the capabilities of robotic fire fighter robots in particular, the application of fire fighter robots to the suppression of warehouse fires. These include analyzing and locating fires, conducting search and rescue, monitoring hazardous variables and the primary task of fire control and suppression. • Fixed firefighting robotic systems, like automatic fire sprinklers and alarms, are should be used in heavily populated and hazardous areas for rapidly extinguishing any threat. These are usually simpler systems relying mostly on IR sensors. • Specifically the challenge is for a robot to navigate a model floor plan of a warehouse with several rooms and hallways. The robot will find the fire and extinguish it in the shortest time possible.

At present, the world is moving toward the use of technologies software and hardware. • This paper proposed a smart fire fighter robot system which designed to detect the source of fire, extinguish it and increase the knowledge about fire behavior from the firefighters and possible victims and decrease the monetary losses which increase considerably as fire duration increases. • This Robot can extinguish different types of fire A, B, C, D, K, electric and metal fire without spreading in the shortest time.

C is the drag coefficient, 0.00425. • The tolerance value for all the connections in assembly will be under 5%. Highest accuracy will be tried to achieve so that the project can function according to the objective. • Also the camera is attached in the top part. This camera will act as an eye for the whole model.
  • 22. • We design the fire detection system using wide angle night vision camera that is capable of showing the flame through the portable screen. • The robot can operate in the environment which is out of human reach in very short time, the delay employed is very minimal. • The robot accurately and efficiently finds the fire and within minimum time after the fire is detected it can be extinguished. • The water can be thrown to the fire within 2 seconds of detecting the fire in a distance more than 2 meters. • The Fire Fighting Robot employs RF controller technology to control the directions of the robot.

For eg: Hotel kitchens, LPG/CNG gas stores etc.  Every working environment requires a permanent operator's attention for taking action incase of fire emergencies which can be replaced by this robot.  At power plant control rooms.  At flight control centers.  It can efficiently replace fire extinguishing cylinders with a more safer and advanced option.
