PENDIDIKAN KRISTEN PERENEALISME DAN
ESENSIALISME

3. Sejarah Aliran Filsafat Pendidikan Esensialisme
Esensialisme muncul pada zaman Renaisance dengan
ciri-ciri yang berbeda dengan pregresivisme.nilai-nilai
yang didalamnya adalah yang berasal dari kebudayaan
dan filsafat yang korelatif selama empat abad
belakang.kesalahan dari kebudayaan sekarang menurut
esensialisme yaitu terletak pada kecenderungan bahkan
gejala-gejala penyimpangannya dari jalan lurus yang
telah di tanamkan kebudayaan warisan itu.
Esensialisme di dukung oleh idealisme modern yang
mempunyai pandangan yang sistematis mengenai aaam
semesta tempat mmausia berada,dan juga di dukung
oleh Realisme.

4. Tokoh -Toko Aliran Filsafat Pendidikan Perenialisme
1. Plato
Menurut plato ilmu pengetahuan dan nilai sebagai minivestasi dari
hukum universal yang abadi dan ideal sehingga ketertiban sosial
hanya akan mungkin di capai bila ide itu menjadi tolak ukur yang
memiliki asas normative dalam semua aspek kehidupan.
menurut psikologi plato manusia kodrati memiliki 3 potensi,yaitu
nafsu kemauan dan akal.ke 3 potensi ini merupakan asas bagi
bangunan kepribadian dan watak manusia .Ketiga potensi itu akan
tumbuh dan berkembang melalui pendidikan,sehingga ketiganya
bberjaln secara berimbang dan harmonis,pendidikan dalam hal ini
hendaklah berorientasi pada potensi psikologi masyarakat.

6. 4. Robert Maynard Hutchins
berpendapat bahwa tujuan sistem pendidikan adalah pengembangan daya
intelektual manusia. Dengan kata lain,untuk melatih kecerdasan di butuhkan
penghapusan kegiatan yang bersifat non intelektual.
5. Mortimer Jerome-Adler
Adler menegaskan tujuan dari sekolah adalah sama,dimanapun tempatnya.
Adler menyebutkan terdapat tiga aspek yang harus di capai oleh murid dalam
belajar disekolah.
1.menyediakan kesempatan yang cukup bagi semua murid untuk
mmengembangka diri .
2.memfasilitasi setiap murid agar tumbuh menjadi warga negara yang
memiliki hak pilih dan politik bertanggung jawab
3.mempersiapkan semua murid bertumbuh dewasa dan mendapatkan
pekerjaan yang dapat menghidupinya.

8. 3. William C.Bagley
a. Minat-minat yang kuat dan tahan lama sering tumbuh dari upaya-
upaya belajar awal yang memikat atau menarik perhatian bukan karena
dorongan dari dalam diri siswa.
b. Pengawasan,pengarahan,dan bimbingan orang yang dewasa adalah
melekat dalam masa balita yang panjang atau keharusan ketergantungan
yang khusus pada spesies manusia.
c. Oleh karena kemampuan untuk mendisiplin diri harus menjadi
tujuan pendidikan maka menegahkan disiplin adalah suatu cara yang di
perlukan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut.

9. Prinsip Pendidikan Perenialisme
1. Manusia adalah makhluk rasional
Manusia adalah individu yang dapat mengembangkan akal
budi mereka. mereka dapat menggunakan rasio untuk
mengendalikan emosi,keinginan,dan selera makan.
2. Pendidikan bersifat universal dan konsisten
Pendidikan harus sama bagi semua manusia.Apabila
manusia makhluk rasional,secara universal,mereka berada
dalam konteks yang sama.Dengan demikian manusia
harus mempunyai pendidikan yang sama.
3. Pengetahuan bersifat universal dan konsisten.
pengetahuan bersifat universal,subjek mata pelajaran
yang esensial harus di ajarkan kepada semua orang secara
universal.pendidikan mengimplikasikan pembelajaran,
pembelajaran mengimplikasikan pengetahuan.

10. pengetahuan adalah kebenaran.kebenaran dimana pun adalah
sama,maka pendidikan harus universal konsisten
4. Perenialisme mementingkan subjek pelajaran.
mengenalkan pada pengetahuan yang abadi dan memiliki
kurikulum yang menekankan bahasa,sejarah,matematika,
sains,filsafat dan seni rupa.

11. Prinsip Pendidikan Esensialisme
1. Tugas utama sekolah mengajarkan pengetahuan inti.
Pengetahuan yang benar-benar harus di kuasai oleh murid
agar dapat menghadapi kehidupan.
2. Belajar membutuhkan kerja keras dan disiplin. Murid perlu
di berikan tugas yang menantang dan sulit.Mereka perlu di
di hadapkan dengan kerja keras,disiplin diri,dan
memfokuskan perhatian pada bahan pelajaran.
3. Guru adalah pusat otoritas dalam kelas.Guru adalah orang
yang di butuhkan para murid.mereka bertugas mengajar
menjadi wakil komunitas dewasa,dan berada di posisi yang
menuntut hormat.

13. KESIMPULAN.
jadi aliran perenialisme dan aliran esensialisme menekankan
metode instruksional,penguasaan materi pembelajaran,tetapi
memiliki motif yang berbeda.
Perenialisme berpusat pada isi pengetahuan, sedangkan aliran
esensialisme berpusat pada pengetahuan dasar untuk ketrampilan
yang dibutuhkan.
jadi harus di pahami pendidik kristen supaya memahami panggilan
orang kristen dalam tugas mendidik di sekolah kristen.
