Abstract This article aims to study the parameters influencing the overall behavior of bolted flanged joints. Three dimensional finite ele-ment analysis has been extensively used to study the performance of bolted joints for eccentric tensile loading. Pretension in the bolt is modeled using ANSYS pretension element (PRETS179) which can be used on solid or line element types. Surface-to-surface contact elements are used to account for the contact pressure at various flange interfaces. The parameters considered for the study are bolt load, contact pressure between flanges and washers, flange opening and strains in the bolt. The effect of prel-oad on various parameters is studied. This paper illustrates the behavior of bolted flanged joints in entirety and brings out the effect of prying action on the bolted flanged joint. Submarine pipelines used in the transportation of hydrocarbon in the oil and gas industry are usually subjected to external hydrostatic pressure and compressive stresses resulting in susceptibility to buckling and loss of structural stability. The objective of the present work was to examine influence of wall thickness on eigenvalue buckling load and hydrostatic pressure on ocean depth. Linear buckling analysis was conducted employing finite element method using ANSYS software package and the simulation was conducted varying wall thickness and ocean depth. The investigation showed collapse buckling pressure decreased linearly with ocean water depth but increased with thickness increment. Pipeline buckling failure can be minimized with wall thickness optimization design and selection.

Abstract While comparing both IS 1893-1984 and IS 1893(part II), first section we consider effect of Seismic responses-base shear, base moment, direction of seismic force, effect of vertical ground acceleration, maximum hydrodynamic pressure, sloshing wave height and additional parameters which calculated using response spectra with change in staging height and performing a few simple calculations and graphs. Here we observe the effect on time period with reference to the staging height in same sample calculations and graph obtained for different quantity. And also collecting the actual site dimension’s (parameters) situated in Nagpur, for evaluation effect of staging height on earthquake forces and effect of soil type conditions on earthquake forces with constant zone, analyzing the tank in SAP2000 for stiffness at different staging height. And analysis has been done by both IS codes. This analysis shows the difference between the all the parameters. Keywords: IS 1893-1984, IS 1893(part II), SAP2000

Construction Time Analysis For Different Steps In Drill-And-Blast Method Of H...IJERA Editor
One of the most important factors influencing the decision whether and how a tunnel is to be built are the estimated time and costs of construction. This study is based on construction time analysis for different steps in drill-and-blast method of hydro power tunnel excavation in working phase of 6.256,00 meters of tunnels which have different diameters varying from 4,20 to 7,60. There are made 737 field measurements and it is seen that many of the machinery and workmanship productions rates per unit time are significantly lower, varying from 35% to 50%, of that defined in their technical specifications, measurements indicate that highest performance is reached in 7,60m diameter tunnel excavation. It is believed that these data will be helpful for planning and management process of tunnel construction projects, especially those planned to be built in Albania where labor market carries similar features.

The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
