The document analyzes the fatty acid profile and potential commercial uses of oils extracted from Sterculia sp. seeds. Samples of Sterculia sp. seeds were collected and their oils extracted using supercritical fluid extraction. The oils were then analyzed to determine their fatty acid composition using gas chromatography. The fatty acid profiles of the Sterculia sp. seed oils were also compared to canola, coconut, and palm oils. The study found that the Sterculia sp. seed oils have high palmitic acid content similar to palm oil and could potentially be used in many commercial applications, making Sterculia sp. an alternative source of plant oil.
